The 2007 audi was hit on a high speed collision after other vehicle ran a red light and no air bags where deploid by the audi q7 after massive front and side collision from other vehicle at 50 mph. Not very happy of the safety problem that this luxury 2007 audi q7 vehicle has by not deploying the front and side airbags causing personal injury to my family during the accident. Police and fire rescue in the scene of the accident were very concern with the audi q7 failure of the safety airbags and suggested to report it to audi usa for evaluation or posable recall.
Airbag light stays lit on dash board, safety station says it will pass state inspection (mass) due to age of vehicle.my mechanic cannot remove the service code with his computer?it always stays on,i bought the car 2 years ago and it has always been on,and it always been serviced thoroughly. My mechanic says it'spassenger's side airbag??
The check engine light came on and we took the car to get checked out and they said that the fuel pump is needing to be replaced
The rear sunroof leaks around the seal and leaks down into the electronics of the car. The drain tubes are ran through the electronics compartment causing it to short out the system and causing the check engine light and tire sensor lights to come on and not be able to be reset. The sunroof not only leaks from the drain tubes but also around the seal, also causing the water to drain into the electrical compartment which causes the same issue even after the drain tubes are repaired. You can find this issue listed all over the internet help sites as well as you tube. This is a very common issue with this model vehicle, and is a design flaw that audi is refusing to fix and passing on the cost to the consumer. To repair the amp and water leak is upwards of $6000. The consumer should not be responsible for assuming the expense of a manufacturer design flaw. The leak occurs in the rear sunroof of this model audi and is a issue that is listed all over the internet and audi has not made it a recall.
As many people have already registered complaints about, even with cleaning our sunroof drains regularly, the glue failed causing us to not only endure the expense of a well-documented issue with the vehicle, but now we have been without a stereo since we feel we are entitled to at least that much, however, audi of america disagrees.considering how many issues there have been with sunroof leaks in the past and the fact that this is an ongoing problem for q7 owners, i feel, as many others do i'm sure, that this problem needs to be looked into further by the nhtsa.
After going through a car wash and driving back home i noticed the audio in my vehicle just completely stopped working. There is only the "mute" button stuck on the dashboard and there is no sound coming from the mmi system at all.also when i turn off the vehicle you can hear the phone busy sound coming from inside of the vehicle somewhere so clearly something was wrong. Once i got back home and parked the vehicle i did a visual inspection and found the rear right area soaked with water , there was an overwhelming smell as if something electrical had melted or caught fire.the next day i continued to smell this faint burnt wire smell which definitely concerned me.keep in mind my audio is no longer working at this pointand has not returnedi began to remove all the items in the rear lift gate portion of the vehicle and started to disassemble the rear right side to investigate if in fact anything had caught on fire or has the potential to do so. What i found was, the bose amplifier was completely drenched and other electronic components down on that side were wet as well it looks to be a backup in the drain tubes. After looking on multiple forums on the internet i found that this is reoccurring issue with this particular year and model q7 that audi is well aware of but surprisingly no one has started a campaign to have this issue addressed.my biggest concern is that it can potentially start a fire in the rear do to this obvious design defect and also my electrical components have been damaged by this design defect.please help!!!!!! thank you.
The mom screen went out. Which short out the amp and drains the battery.the mms system control the heat air . Radio, nav. Car setup. Telephone . And information center. . it will cost2200.00 to replace a amp and not fix the problem. The water will back up and drain out onto the floor, which may cause electrical problems, audi should replace this or fix this problem due to its seem its happening to all their cars with sunroofs.
There is a fissure crack in oil tank located under the enginealso fuel pump leak which causes the electronic control board to mishap also the trunk electric doors smashed my head a few times i have take the car to only authorized audi mechanics.
When it rain the mmi nav system shuts off and now it comes on then cut back off, and the steering wheel vibrates /shake when driveing on highway.
My car was purchased new on august31, 2007 and has 20068 miles on the odometer.1.during a thunderstorm, i entered my car and placed my umbrella on to the passenger seat and got into the drivers seat.some of the rain water dripped off the umbrella and onto the face plate of the mmi control unit located on the center console. Within two weeks the mmi control unit shorted out and failed.this failure stoppedmany of the electronic functions the mmi unit operated, ie., the gps nav. System, the radio, the blue tooth telephone, the operating controls of the auto, cd, vehicle settings, the windshield wipers (front& back) and all the rest of the controls the mmi system operates. 2.the failure seemed to be permanent.i was unable to operate all of the functions from this controller.3.i contacted the audi dealer in buffalo, ny and made an appointment for service. I was told that this was a warranty component under the auto warranty.i arrived at the audi dealer service desk and explained what happened.where in they advised me that if there was any moisture from water, soft drinks, coffee or tea spilled onto this control unit, it would short out electrically and cease to operate.the service person stated that the audi limited warranty (4 years or 50,000 miles) page #4 of warranty manual: items that are subject to adjustment, such as wheel alignment, tire balancing, headlights, door, shift linkage, and sunroof adjustments, not caused by outside influence or normal wear are covered one time within the first 6 months or 6000 miles whichever occurred first, etc...i explained that this mmi did not need an adjustment...it failed and had to be replaced. They would not cover this $800.00 plus dollars to replace this unit.in order to drive the car safely, i had no choice, i paid the amount.the old part is available.i told them that the car manufacturer made a design and engineering error in not waterproofing this control unit.
The vehicle has had the same problem of misfiring for over 2 years and has been pointed out to the repair shop on many occasions. The next problem is the truck taking very long to crank over when starting. The last problem is the vehicle has water ingress that is causing the electrical components to not function properly. The vehicle has been brought in to be repaired over 10 weeks and problem still is happening. The warranty even expired while they were fixing the vehicle. The vehicle has become a loss interms of resale value and cannot be traded.
Draining system in the roof of vehicle seems to be a design/engineering flaw.in under 4 years, water leaked into the interior front and rear of car causing issues with the amplifier and who knows what else.dealer says it was not covered under warranty and estimates $1600 to fix the drain issues and $2200 for the blown amplifier.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated that the panoramic sun roof seal was leaking, causing water to drip onto the electrical wiring. The vehicle was not taken to local dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle decelerated rapidly and then stalled. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was found that a chip in the computer system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred and was towed back to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. The current mileage was approximately 52,000. The vin was unavailable.
Following an exterior car wash (brushless) the audio system and mmi began having problems.the rear audio speakers began crackling and then stopped working altogether.certain mmi controls, particularly with the heated seats and fan blower also stopped working.after some time, the speakers returned to working but the mmi system remained spotty.no battery draw was found and no apparent (obvious) water intrusion was found.
My vehicle stopped while driving on the highway.
Sunroof leaking due to faulty drain hose design ,causing electrical problems to the mmi system ,radio, amplifier , draining battery , esp system, audi usa , is fully aware of the problem and yet refused to have a recall on these car's 2007_2011 q7 model , all the dealership acknowledge there's a manufacturing defects, but each visit to the dealership it cost $2,200.
Hi there,i had an issue with my sound system i.e. In my audi q7, it basically muted off and i could not hear nothing (radio, audio cd etc.) and took it to the dealer.after diagnosis, i was told that my moon roof drain tubes were clogged as a result rain water trickled in and eventually blew up my amplifier and the dealer is now charging me an exorbitant(~$2500) price to fix it. I had no option but get it fixed. Based on my research, i see that this is a known issue with the 2007 audi q7 models and that it was audi's decision to deal with this on a case by case basis in preference to recalling all 07 production (up to a certain vin) with sunroof fitted. They have known about this problem for years. Their argument now is that i have not been regular at servicing my vehicle at the dealer therefore they cant help with assisting me to fix it and are in no way liable for it. I would argue that they had a duty all along to fix it or advise me of the potential problem. I am very frustrated with the fact it was hidden from me and called the audi customer service and they tell me they cant help me with this. I am not sure what i found about the moon roof drains is true, but if it is true, then i think it is unfair for audi to hide the faulty drains from their customers and audi should be liable for it...thanks
Electoral battery drain issue , water leak in the electric from sun-roof ,
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. While the contact's daughter was driving at an unknown speed, the radio stopped functioning. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to premier automotive (located at 2516 fort campbell blvd, hopkinsville, ky 42240, (270) 886-6144) where it was diagnosed that the sun roof drained into the amplifier and the sun roof drain needed to be restructured. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 135,000.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7.while driving between 55-60 mph, the electrical system (mmi) shorted after becoming wet from rain.as a result, the electrical system failed.the failure has only occurred once.the dealer stated that the electric system shorted out due to moisture entering the system.the current mileage was 18,000 and failure mileage was 8,000.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7.while driving between 35-40 mph, the electronic control unit (mmi) stopped working.the dealer stated that the repair would be performed under warranty.the contact took the vehicle in for repair and was informed that it would not be repaired under warranty.the failure mileage was 20,006.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated while driving 60 mph the navigation and the radio went completely off. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 61,000. The vin was not available.
My 2007 audi q7 suv has electrical issues from a spilled drink from the cup holders.if liquid travels directly below from cup holders, the mmi circuit board that controls the headlights, wipers, ect, stops working from sometime or not at all.it starts with the radio and then the windows, ect, and then moves to the headlights and the wipers.audi says it is the owners' problem and is not covered under warranty.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7.the contact stated that there is a computer system that controls all of the electrical devices in the vehicle.the system is located directly underneath the cup holder on the arm rest.the wood trim is inadequate and does not seal the computer module, which allows liquid to enter into the computer module.as a result, the electrical devices will malfunction.the contact took the vehicle to the dealer and a technician stated that it would cost $900 to repair the computer module.the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred several months later.the manufacturer did not provide any assistance.the failure mileage was 7,000 and current mileage was 17,500.
Sunroof leaking affecting radios,amplifier,draining battery.
In august of 2006 i signed a three year lease for the new audi q7, 4.2. Right from the start, i encountered a potentially very dangerous problem. When coming to a stop and then trying to accelerate the vehicle failed to move. Only by removing my foot from the accelerator and then applying full pressure will i start moving again. This was not a lag nor a hesitation, since without removing my foot from the pedal the car simply will not move. Depending on the brake to accelerator or accelerator to brake sequence, the car will either come a fully unresponsive stop or fail to shift from second to third gear. The dealership initially denied the existence of the problem. Now, after having had the car test driven several times and after having been in constant contact with representativesof audi andi am being told that thiswas not the car for you.should have not bought this car if you drive with both feet. I have not found this warning in any publication. Audi of america's explanation was that the drive by wire system will shut down the fuel supply when the brake and the gas pedal sense just the slightest pressure at the same time, causing the car to stall in the middle of traffic. Audi has not issued a software correction to the problem. I test drove the same model q7recently and it behaved the same way.by driving this car, i am exposing myself and my passengers to very dangerous situations on an hourly basis.coming to a stand still in front of oncoming trafficwasa death sentence.even though audi admittedto the problem and offeredtheir scientific explanation to the sudden fuel supply shut down, the representatives toldme that the vehicle performedto manufacturer's specifications.
There is a steering lock problem. I was told that the steering could lock while driving. This is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed. The scanner reads "steering lock actuator". Please have this issue addressed.
All the mms screenwent out . The dealer stated it come from the sunroof draining system . Which short out the amp and drains the battery.the mms system control the heatair . Radio, nav. Car setup. Telephone . And information center. . now why would somebody want 2200.00 to replace a amp and not fix the problem,.this is the dealer am talking about. Its a problem on all audi vehicle that have sunroofs.
While driving during a heavy rain, my radio started making a static like sound, and died, along with the navigation system. The following day i had a mechanic check the vehicle, and his findings was a leak into the electronic port thus creating water damage to amplifier - mmi systems.
There seems to be leaking from the sunroof that lets water into the amp. The leak goes into the amp and causes the battery to drain when sitting. This issue has been known by audi for a while and have not done anything to recall these vehicles and fix the issue. The average cost to make the amp and roof repair is $4,500. Please look into this. Thank you.
My audi q7 has a leak from the sunroof, which damaged the bose amp, because ofthat, the radio, backup camera, the whole mmi system is not working.also for that reason the battery is not holding energy, the amp is draining the battery.this is an factory issue, i took the car to the dealer and was told it will cost over $4,000 to fix it.audi of america should do a recall for this issue, water getting in contact with the electrical part of the car is a big hazard, it can start a fire or other parts of the electric system could malfunction, and could eventually lead to an accident.i'm not sure if this water leak damage the passenger airbag but i also getting a light for the airbag on the cluster.
Car suddenly came to a stop while driving on highway...
Electrical issue due to the faulty sunroof water drain hoses(connection for hoses).like all (all) audi q7 owners i have encouraged problems with my complete electrical system in the car. Water leaked from sunroof down to most electrical components in the car which are hidden behind upholstery. Audi is full of electronics including safety systems in the car. My mmi system died due to amplifier getting wet. After mmi, battery drained out after just 7 hours that car has been sitting in the parking lot. All dealerships know about this and audi is still ripping off all the q7 owners on this issue. Too bad is that in long run they will lose a lot of customers.full repair of sunroof hoses and replacement of audi amplifier which is first part that gets affected from water costed me almost $4000.not to mention that i still stains from water on my roof liner. I contacted audi of america and they will not admit fault, want me to go to dealership and pay again for inspection. Yeah. Good luck. I will never see audi dealership again and never buy another audi.
While driving in dry/fair weather conditions and at highway speeds (50 and 70 mph) the esp warning light came on and engaged the abs system for no apparent reason. It created a loss of control of the audi q7 4.2 until i turned off the esp system as i exited the freeway to stop and then restart the vehicle. This has happened three times in the pasted 100 miles and 3 months. The selling dealer found no codes and nothing has been resolved. This is not a safe situation for me, and audi has offered no solution to the dealer tech to date.
I currently own a 2007 audi q7 3.6 and believe there is a safety issue with all 2007 3.6 vehicles. The vehicle is advertised to have the towing ability to tow up to 6600lbs. On three separate occasions while towing a 435lb aluminum trailer the check engine light came on along with the epc (electronic power control) light and the car goes into a safe mode which will not allow you to go over 3000rpms. This problem only occurs while towing for over an hour but when the safe mode is installed the car has no power and with a trailer still hooked up the car has trouble going over 45mph. This is a very dangerous situation especially on the highway when trucks are passing you doing 70mph. My q7 was in the dealership three times for this problem and i'm still not satisfied that the problem has been corrected. They downloaded new software to my engine control module which changes the performance of my car but i believe anyone who owns this same vehicle and attempts to tow will find themselves in the same dangerous situation. Most people don't use this type of car to tow with even though they advertise this as a selling point. All 2007 q7 3.6 vehicles should be tested and have the updated software installed in there car before someone gets hurt
Car stalled while driving on highway and esp/abs light came on - was told by dealer will have to replace the entire abs control module for $2800! to diagnose this took 2 days for the dealer and even then they are not 100% sure the replacement will fix the abs issue. Have already paid 500+ in labor diagnosis!
Audi q7 4.2l with 34200 miles lost rpm on highway, speed suddenly dropped from 62mph to 22 mph, when esp light came on and engaged the abs. The car behind could barely stop, disturbing the entire traffic. Frequent problems with the esp (electronic stabilization program), the esp light will come on and off multiple times, mostly on, along with the malfunction indicator lamp. When esp light comes on, the car is jerking and it involves the abs (anti-lock brake system), although the weather/streets conditions are very good(dry, paved streets, summer sunny days).took car to the dealer 3 times, did not fix the problem. I was told i am the first one who experienced this kind of problem, and that i am the "guinea pig" for them.it is clear thatthis car represents a great potential danger while in traffic. Today, i was almost involved in an accident. How about tomorrow?do we need more "guinea pigs"?
Driving my car when i heard pop and car stalled. Engine would not turn over and had to have it towed to dealer.dealer said oil pump went and caused the engine to seize. Know i have to replace engine. Car was at dealer two weeks prior and issue not addressed.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated that the vehicle was emitting a strong fuel odor. In addition, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who stated the plugs and the manifold failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Car suddenly came to a stop while driving on highway...
Heard a loud "pop" then there was a strong smell of fuel coming from the engine compartments in my 2007 audi q7 3.6l fsi while i was driving. I stopped the vehicle and shut off the engine and did some investigation and found the leak was coming from the injector and the fuel rail. The vehicle was in motion on a busy street when this leak occurred. Thankfully a someone noticed and notified me that i was leaking something which turn out to be fuel. I was able to fix the problem with occurred on 01/19/2017 by buying a injector seal kit from the dealer. . unfortunately i had another injector fail on me on 01/28/2017. Did some research and found there's a recall for the 2011-2015 model of the q7. My wife uses this vehicle for her needs with 4 children inside.this is copied from the recall done with the similar issue in the newer model.nhtsa id: 15v019safety recall 24ap fuel injection system leakcertain 2011-2013 model year s4, s5, a6, a7 & q7 with 3.0l tfsi enginehowever, a later analysis concluded if the fuel injector valve is out of position during driving, a leak can occur at the connection between the fuel rail and the injector. Any fuel near an ignition source will be a serious fire risk.similar recall was started march 10, 2015 for the 2011-2015 models.dealers will replace the fuel rails and seals.owners of the audi s4, s5, q7, a6, and the audi a7 can contact audi at 800-822-2834 and refer to recall number 24ap.
The oil pump bolt vibrated loose causing timing gear and chain to fallout inside engine causing catastrophic engine failure and loss of brakes and power steering. Was in motionon a city street moving with traffic and suddenly the engine silently failscausing loss of power assist breaks and steering. The car is almost silent so i did not realize until i came up to a stop light and needed to brake almost causing a serious accident. If you google"oil pump bolt issues" you will see there are hundreds of passats and audi 's with 3.6 liter engines manufactured at the same factory with this issue. Most of them failed while the cars were under warranty and were fixed quietly by the dealers. Those of us who were unlucky enough to buy one that has not had the "strengthened bolt'installed or engine failure prior to the warrantyare driving ticking time bombs. The big problem for this part is that it is located behind a cover in such a way that the engine needs to be pulled in order to reach itthis is an extremely expensive preventative step close to 2 k or more just to check for a bolt. I wish i had known prior to this happening as every place i've spoken to wants 15000 dollars to install another engine. I could have easily been killed if i was going a little faster and needed to stop fast.
My wife and daughter were driving on a busy section of road when the car died.no one was hurt and there was no accident.a police officer provided safety until the tow vehicle came. The issue is a blown engine.there was no indication that the engine was failing and it appears to be a timing chain issue.we have had all required maintenance performed at audi but it is pass the warranty so i am getting no support from audi recognizing or admitting to the problem.the following link/forum describes the problem: http://www.passatworld.com/forums/volkswagen-passat-b6-discussion/327507-3-6-oil-bolt-failure-reference-material.html this is a design issue that i wish audi/vw would be held accountable to correct as it puts people in danger on the road as well as costing a significant amount of money to fix.
There is a fissure crack in oil tank located under the enginealso fuel pump leak which causes the electronic control board to mishap also the trunk electric doors smashed my head a few times i have take the car to only authorized audi mechanics.
I just triedto start my q7 and didn't want to start, the auto starter was going for like 4 seconds, so i return the key to the off position to stop it,and a loud bang and smoke came out the engine compartment, when i check, i saw the smoke coming out the lower part of the intake maniford, it was separated from the main piece, i don't understand why this intake got this useless plastic cover, but i really not sure what could cause this, i took it to the mechanic and apparently it came undone for not aparent reason other than a "bad designed part" this happened when i was starting it on my driveway, but could happen anywhere
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. While the vehicle was serviced by a certified mechanic, the oil pump bolt detached and damaged the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
Oil pump bolt lose timing chain rattling lose oil pressure.
My vehicle stopped while driving on the highway.
"takata recall" on my regular daily routine, i tried to turn on my car that it was parked on my driveway. I tried turning my car on when i heard a big pop sound, after that big pop sound a cloud of smoke from the front of the car. When i open the hood of the car i saw that the intake manifold of thecar was broken into pieces.

The exhaust system accumulates water and when temperatures arebelow 32 degrees water will freeze and car will not operate. Two gallons of water was removed from the exhaust system in order for the carto run.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7.the contact heard a rattling noise and the oil pressure light illuminated when he started the vehicle.the dealer stated that the valve that connects the oil pump to the engine failed.the vehicle was repaired.the current mileage was 1,400 and failure mileage was 500.
2007 audi q7.attorney representing consumer writes in regards to loss of power to vehicleengine while driving .the consumer was forced to glide to the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the repairs were allegedly made. However, on december 31, 2012, while driving 65 mph, the consumer experienced a complete and total loss of power to the engine.the vehicle was towed to the dealer again.
While i was driving my audi q7, it jerked at 20 mph for 3 to 4 times. Took it to dealer, they said it was due to carbon buildup. They cleaned it, after 3 weeks, i was driving on freeway at 60 mph, its huge jerk car stop and go as if there is lack of fuel supply. The guy behind me honked as if i did unexpected breaking. The next day i am dropping my kid at school, there was steep hill, the car is doing same i was scared as car is pulling down from uphill. I feel this is a real safety issue to me and the cars behind me.

My car started to have smell of exhaust. It started three days ago while i was driving. The day after a light of wiper defective showed up. Then the fuel door couldn't open from the inside, i had to use the emergency fuel release to open the door. The smell is all the time (parked or in motion).
When returning from a trip, about 1 mile from home i experienced a very strong smell of gasoline in the passenger compartment. When i got home and opened the hood, gasoline was spraying from the engine onto the hot exhaust manifold and instantly vaporizing into a cloud. I think we were very lucky this did not result in a fire that could have seriously injured me and my family.i took the car to a nearby garage, and the mechanic confirmed the issue and told me the car could not be driven. I had it towed to roger beasley audi, in austin. After examining the engine they confirmed the leak and determined it was due to a broken fuel injector inside the engine. I feel this issue is a very serious injury risk, and will likely result in a fire hazard.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. While the vehicle was parked, a strong fuel odor was present inside and outside the vehicle. The contact observed fuel spilling onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel housing flange fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v660000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated that an independent mechanic while performing a routine check, became aware of fuel leaking underneath the vehicle. The mechanic determined that the fuel pump flange was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that there was an abnormal odor in the vehicle while driving prior to the vehicle being inspected. The vehicle was not repaired. Ed carroll porsche (3003 south college avenue, fort collins, co 80525) was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was informed that vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 16v660000 (fuel system, gasoline) in 2016. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 18v818000 (fuel system, gasoline) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, offered no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
Fuel line leak occurred during operation of the vehicle on 11/24/18.first a fuel smell was detected in the vehicle at a traffic light at washington rd and rt 1 (this smell was at first associated with a tanker truck refueling an adjacent service station), then on the highway engine knocking began to occur with a blinking check engine light when accelerating. Upon parking the vehicle, a pool of fuel was immediately detected below the engine block from fuel dripping off of the engine block. Upon opening the hood the engine block was covered with fuel - identified by touch and smell - additionally the insulation on the ceiling of the hood had a wet spot 1 ft sq darkened by saturation with fuel.restarted the engine and noted fuel was spraying from the fuel pump towards the front of the vehcile and upwards towards the hood.the engine was immediately cut off and the vehicle was towed to an audi dealership for repair.
Fuel linking & the smell is inside the car
I purchased a "fixd" device to determine any problems w/ my vehicle. I came upon this page and noted that there had been a recall of this vehicle back in sept. 2016. I purchased this vehicle from a dealer on november 19, 2016. In looking into recall notices associated w/ this vin it stated that the recall was "incomplete." i am now reporting this as the recall should have been taken care of, especially by a dealer, before i even purchased it. I have had a number of problems with this vehicle right from the onset. Please, look into this for me.thank you
There is a fissure crack in oil tank located under the enginealso fuel pump leak which causes the electronic control board to mishap also the trunk electric doors smashed my head a few times i have take the car to only authorized audi mechanics.
Car suddenly came to a stop while driving on highway...

Dear nhtsa team.my vehicle demonstrated a fuel smell in september 2020.i alerted audi that i believed it was covered under either 20w9 or 20bj.they said it was not.i took it to a private repair shop that charged me $71 to diagnose the problem.the repair shop (team previously worked for audi) shared that the problem was covered under a recall.i then took the car into the dealer and audi fixed it under the recall.i sought reimbursement of my diagnosis fee of $71 for over three months.audi failed to respond on multiple occasions when i first raised the issue, and later when i sought reimbursement.finally, on 12/16/20 i was advised that audi would not reimburse the diagnosis fee notwithstanding the repair was covered under the recall.they also allowed the unsafe situation to continue for weeks by refusing to repair under the recall.i bring this to your attention as a safety issue from a protocol standpoint, and ask for your help in securing my $71 reimbursement, which i feel falls under either of the recall campaigns for this vehicle and this recall issue.[xxx]/[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
My vehicle stopped while driving on the highway.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated that the odor of fuel was present inside and outside the vehicle. Also, the average fuel mileage decreased while driving. The vehicle and the driver discovered a puddle of fuel under the driver's side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump flange was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer (concord audi, 1300 concord ave, concord, ca) were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 16v660000 (fuel system) in november of 2016; however, the failure still occurred. The failure mileage was 100,000.
My car started to have smell of exhaust. It started three days ago while i was driving. The day after a light of wiper defective showed up. Then the fuel door couldn't open from the inside, i had to use the emergency fuel release to open the door. The smell is all the time (parked or in motion).
The check engine light came on and we took the car to get checked out and they said that the fuel pump is needing to be replaced
Tanaka recallmy car keeps leaking gas. I paid a mechanic to fix the issue and it happened again 2 momths later. It has a smell of gasoline that gives headaches.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure recurred numerous times over the course of four years. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis each time and the contact was informed that the fuel was causing the spark plugs to misfire. The dealer recommended having the fuel lines cleaned. The repair was performed however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. The contact noticed an odor of fuel in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to (audi north scottsdale, 7150 e princess dr, phoenix, az 85054), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that they would pay $3,000 of the total repair cost. The failure mileage was 167,000.
Leaking fuel
Strong fuel smell emitting from outside of vehicle and inside after running engine. Fuel pump located under 2nd row passenger seat spraying fuel through plastic cap which is cracked. 2009 re-2012 recall does not cover 2007-2008>???
Large fuel leak in the engine compartment:while starting the vehicle in a parking lot, the engine was difficult to start but then started. The driver began to depart by backing out of the parking space, then a strong gasoline smell was present, as the two front windows were rolled down. The front passenger noticed liquid flowing out from under the front of the vehicle on the passenger side while the car moved forward by about 2-3 parking spaces. The driver immediately stopped, shut down the engine and investigated. The strong smelling liquid appears to be gasoline leaking from under the engine compartment. The vehicle was parked on the spot as the two occupants evacuated the vehicle. While outside, the sound of gasoline splashing down could be heard. A tow truck was called, and the vehicle was towed to the nearest dealership. Dealership personnel helped pushed the vehicle in neutral gear (without starting) into the service area pending inspection. Dealership report showed fuel injector #1 leaking. Service advisor confirmed it was injector leak, not seals. This is a very serious fire risk.
"takata recall" the shifting goes out when driving cause the vehicle to jerk or even holt in traffic. The dash locks up to a bold red. This causes the vehicle to drive at a slower speed and can not go above 45mph. Then the fuel starts to smell up the whole vehicle.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. She stated that her two-year-old child locked himself inside the vehicle using a lock button located in the rear seat.the child was locked in the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes in 95 degree weather.she stated that her husband unlocked the vehicle with his spare key.the manufacturer stated that they would remove the feature however; she would loose the warranty.the current and failure mileages were 200.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7.while the vehicle was parked with the key in the ignition, the contact closed the driver side door and proceeded to the back seat to assist the children out of the vehicle.before approaching the rear door, one of the children locked the door.there was no means of entering the vehicle because the rear doors did not feature an unlock latch mechanism.the police were called to the scene to unlock the vehicle doors.the contact was highly concerned of thesafety risk involved with not being able to open any of the doors from the rear.the current and failure mileages were 10,000.updated 07/29/08.*ljupdated 08/06/08
Vehicle reached a speed of 75mph started feeling a vibration, started to slow down and the drive shaft came loose from the transmission, damaged fuel line and e-brake cable. Vehicle was modified in 2011 as a stretch limousine, a mobile machine stated that four of the six bolts were missing and the last two broke and caused the drive shaft to come off, vehicle was purchased in minnesota and the conversion was done in illinois. I have only had the vehicle a little over 30 days. I feel that there was an over look from the builder to the last owner and i don't know how to handle this situation.please advise
- the contact stated that he owns a 2007 audi q7.the head rests in his vehicle for the 2nd and 3rd row seats are unsafe for placing his britax booster seats.the contact stated that booster seats should be flushed, the vehicle head rest protrudes away from the booster seat.the contact stated that his booster seat can't lay flush against the seat.
Note - this is a 2007 audi q7, which is not in nhtsa's system - they instructed me to list volkswagen.audi q7 rear seat (2nd row) head rests do not allow correct installation of child seats.the audi q7 has folding rear head rests that are not removable.the construction of the head rest (specifically the bars which extend upwards from the seat to hold the actual head rest) block correct placement of forward facing toddler seats, including models tried from britax and graco.the issue is that the q7 head rest bars, instead of being straight like most cars, curve forward to help them fold down when you lay the seats flat.since the top of the child seat back extends above the car seat back, these curved bars block the top of the child seat so you cannot lay the child seat flush against the seat back, and get a secure fit.because the bars push the child seat forward, the base of the child seat extends past the front of the car seat bench.the child safety seat inspector would not approve the installation, and could not find any acceptable installation with the child seats we tried.
After leaving work one day, my esp & abs light came on. Everything was fine when i drove into work in the morning. The car was parked all day and the warning lights came on before i left the parking lot. The esp light shut off the next morning however the abs light stays on constantly.
I was driving my audi q7 the 25th of august of 2010 in miami, fl when the brakes suddenly stopped working and i ran a couple red lights trying to stop the vehicle. In the mean time, i turned the drive shift to neutral position and i started pressing the brake pedal several times until it finally stopped the car slowly.i stopped in a safe place and i call audi tow assistance, they came in about an hour to pick my vehicle up and took it to the dealership (prestige imports). I am extremely disappointed with the services rendered by the dealership because i took the vehicle to inspection and repairs when it reached the 60,000 miles back on april, 2010, at which time i was charged for the front brake pads replacement (see attached receipt). I am terrified about what would have happened to me if instead of being in a regular street i was on a highway or if there were cars waiting on the traffic lights. I want to notify prestige imports and audi of americas about my concerns in reference to the quality of the services rendered at this facility and the safety of this vehicle and i am concerned whether the brake pads replacement was really done as required by audi's manual.
There is a steering lock problem. I was told that the steering could lock while driving. This is a very serious problem that needs to be addressed. The scanner reads "steering lock actuator". Please have this issue addressed.
The vehicle was in park as i was leaving out of the house going to start the car it would not start and key had got stuck in ignition. I then towed to henderson audi where they explained the steering column was the reason for this. They also gave me notice that they have gotten this problem multiple occasions. Steering columns going bad in audi q7
When it rain the mmi nav system shuts off and now it comes on then cut back off, and the steering wheel vibrates /shake when driveing on highway.
Vehicle has severe steering wheel shaking/vibration during normal highway driving which also leads to bad wheel alignment.road noise is very noticeable and loud.
Sunroof leaking affecting radios,amplifier,draining battery.

Electoral battery drain issue , water leak in the electric from sun-roof ,
The vehicle has had the same problem of misfiring for over 2 years and has been pointed out to the repair shop on many occasions.
In my previous job, i evaluated vehicles for an oem. We had an audi q7 suv in our fleet. I noted that the rear passenger windows (with an auto up feature) would allow a gap between the window glass and frame at a position where a child could place their fingers. The auto close feature would not return without causing a significant amount of pressure and potentially damage to the child's (or adults) fingers before reversing. The issue was noted without incident.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7. While merging onto the highway, there was a drastic reduction in speed and the vehicle would not accelerate when the pedal was depressed. A police officer pulled the contact over and stated that it was unsafe to drive below the speed limit. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were not available.

While i was about to leave my home's garage on my 2007 audiq7 (3.6l gas) suv, i put reverse gear, with my right foot in the brake as usual. At that point my 4 year-old son started crying and spitting up a lot of saliva with bubble gum, so i turned back and took it with my right hand.i did not put the gear in park because my right hand was full of saliva (now i realize that i could have done it with my left hand but at that time i guess it was not natural doing it that way), so i opened the door with my left hand and put my left foot on the floor in order to partially slide outwards to throw the saliva away (which was in my right hand). At this point my right foot let go the brake just a little and the car suddenly started going backwards. As my left foot was on the floor, i tripped and starting falling on the garage's floor as the car was moving backwards. At this point my right foot let go the brake completely and the car started going backwards faster, at an unreasonable fast rate!the front wheel almost crashed my body and my left leg got several scratches as it crashed against the open door ripping off all its plastic cover. With my right foot still on the car's floor and my left hand grabbing the door handle, and lot of adrenaline helping, i could slightly slide my right foot inside enough to push the brake and make the car stop. My points are:1) the car started going backwards very fast by just releasing the brake; cars should move slower, at a limited speed, if the gas pedal is not pushed. 2) there should be a safety feature preventing cars from moving (either forward or backwards) if (a) the door is open,and/or (b) if there is no driver sitting in the driver's seat (like the one in passenger airbags that are inactive when there's no passenger). I have a security camera that got the accident. I can provide the video if you request it. I hope you can do something to prevent this from happening to someone else.

Turned on the car and within a few minutes smoke filled up the whole car. The smoke was coming from the rear wiper from the inside. Seems to be coming from the wiper motor but can't tell until i take the plastic cover off. Started smoking immediately every time i turned the car on, tested it a total of 3 times. Strange caramel colored residue left on the back window from the inside. Smells terrible. The car was stationary the whole tome and parked in a neighborhood. Surprised a fire didn't start because of the amount of smoke. Some research on this saying some people had an actual fire inside the car.
Noticed that my pass. Side mirror would not adjust when using the switch or when i put the truck in reverse.i made an appointment with the dealership for the next week.after leaving my truck at the dealership for a week, i was informed that the mirror motor part had to be ordered and was not in stock.what?they held my truck for a week just to tell me to come back.so the next week i made another appointment and the motor was replaced and fixed.
The contact owns a 2007 audi q7.the contact could not see through the rearview mirror unless the rear seats were lowered or the headrests were removed.visibility is zero when attempting to look through the rearview mirror with occupants in the rear seat.the dealer advised him to remove or lower the headrests.the current mileage was 3,290 and failure mileage was 1.
