Every time i call the audi dealer nearest me which is mishawaka, in they never have any parts. I have been trying to get this fixed since october of 2017. It is a safety hazard.

I purchased this vehicle on september 1st 2016. When i found out it has airbag problems i went back to the dealer and told them that audi did not have remedy to fix the airbags on october 2016. I had an open heart surgery in 2013 and driving in the vehicle with defected airbags was not an option. I traded this vehicle at the same dealership and lost my trade in value of $9000.someone has to be responsible for this and i think if dealership cannot recoup my loss of $9000, than audi should reimburse me for my loss. I was couldn't take a chance to drive in unsafe vehicle and wait till now to replace airbags. I was not disclosed at the time of sale that there was no remedy available from manufacturer to fix airbags in 10/2016. I have my initial contract for vehicle purchase. I do not have this vehicle in my possession any longer and traded in on another at the same dealership.

Takata recall: we have now received 4 or 5 letters over the past 9 months informing us of the recall and telling us our life may be in danger and to contact our dealer immediately to have the airbag replaced. When i call our dealer (peabody, ma), they inform me they do not have the part and do not know when they will. When i contacted audi usa they indicated it is nhtsa who determines which dealers get the parts and when. If you aren't supplying the parts, don't repeatedly require audi to send me letters telling me my life may be in danger. It's a bit like the boy who cried wolf, i no longer believe you really mean my life is in danger, because if you did, you'd ensure the part is available to fix the problem. The 2 most recent letters are attached.

Takata recall: i find it completely unbelievable, scary and a huge lack of interest and consideration for the safety of drivers that the schedule for addressing the takata recall is so drawn out. I was notified in april of the recall and am now told that it will not be addressed until 2018. I have no choice but to drive my car to get to work, and every day i have to worry about whether or not the airbag is a liability and harmful to my life and that of my family's. It is inexcusable that a company is willing to take on that liability.

Tamara recall.my dealer, audi of stratham nh keeps sending me cards to have the airbag replaced.i made an appointment a month ago and when i arrived was told they didn't have it.made another appointment for today, 1/4/19, on the basis of being told that they had it in hand.when i called today they didn't.they blame it on audi, say they are only the dealership.i must have received 15 or more notices from the dealership to have the airbag replaced.i have been driving an unsafe car for 2 years.

"takata recall" i bought the car from bay ridge nissan in brooklyn on 11/03/17. The following week they said they couldn't give me the car because it had recall that needed to fix. Takata recall:this has been known sincefebruary 9, 2016.i have not been notified until i went in almost 1 year after purchasing the vehicle to get my vehicle appraised and it wasn't even audi until i went there and was told to wait until there is a part for the airbags or if i feel that unsafe to trade it in for another vehicle. Which is also unfair because it's true trade-in value isn't $21,00-$24,000. Sofailure to notify owner and this is what i found online:"remedy:replace driver airbag inflator.recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available "according to safercar.gov this has become a growing safety issue for my passengers, pets, and myself. It is a disappointment and makes me not want to rely on audi and drive the vehicle i have purchased after working hard in earning it.they are taking quiet some time and should have thought of another alternative beside the obvious remedy:replace driver airbag inflator.recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available.

Takata recall. I called audi of princeton nj and they inform me the parts are backordered, with no idea of the eta.this is concerning given the dangerous nature of the airbag inflator could potentially rupture due to propellant degradation.

Takata airbag - recall dated feb 2016 for a defect that can cause serious injury or death.9 months later audi still does not have a solution to this recall.it is very frightening to continue driving a vehicle that has a serious open recall.

Takata recall - i was made aware of the takata airbag recall via usps postal mail service in april of 2016 by audi of america inc. Located at 3800 hamlin road, auburn hills mi 48326. Since then, i have made multiple inquiries to audi service departments as to how long it would take for my airbag replacement. Each time i was told that as soon as the parts were available, i would be informed and asked to bring in my vehicle for service. At this point, i am experiencing anxiety when driving my vehicle and decided that i would trade it in for a new vehicle in order to feel safe while on the road. While at the farmington hills dealership, i was informed that the value of my trade-in would only be $12,000 because they are not able to resell the vehicle due to the faulty airbags. As a consequence, any vehicle that i purchase would have a $10,000 debt rolled in because of the difference between my trade-in value and the balance of my existing car loan. If someone is to experience financial damages as a result of the faulty airbags, it should be takata and not me as a consumer. I am requesting that audi take my trade-inat its full value [not take the faulty airbags into consideration] and i am submitting this complaint in the hopes that we can arrive at a mutually beneficial outcome (where i am not responsible for the fact that the car cannot be resold) and avoid additional or further litigation.

I ran my vin # and the only recall i see listed is the: 69n1 recall. However i know these vehicles have 2 more:20w9 & 69p1

Takata recall - we are first-time parents and had infant twin boys.we had bought this car for more room and safety and then the recall happened.we asked our dealer repeatedly for a fix and even contacted audi usa but they told us there was nothing they could do.we had friends and relatives with other car brands whose dealers gave them loaners or rental cars but audi offered us nothing.ultimately, we traded in the car because we were so worried.

What must be done for manufacturers to start honoring nhtsa recall # 16v078, i drive a vehicle that dealerships claim lacking of manufacturers procedure to address manufacturers recall # 69n1 . I do drive the vehicle around and hate to be a statistic do to lack of a procedure implementation.

Takata airbags - the dealership near us that services our audi vehicles will not perform the recall work service.they claim the steering wheel was changed.they quoted us a $2500 price to replace the steering wheel and then they can do the recall work.we bought the car used.we did not change the steering wheel.the steering wheel is an audi s line steering wheel.the car is an s line as indicated on various parts throughout the car.i went to luxury haus where we bought the car and they went out of business.i contacted audi of america and they could not explain the issue but closed our case with no written explanation.i spoke to the person handling my case and they could not explain it to me as they were not qualified.i asked to speak to a qualified person so i can at least understand what the problem is.i never received an explanation either written or verbal over the phone.we did not change the steering wheel.the steering wheel matches the make and model of the car.the steering wheel is an audi product.we don't understand why we need to spend $2500 to get another same steering wheel in order to get this safety recall completed.i am scared to drive the car.it is 6 years old.the dealership told us we cannot trade the car in until we address the recall.i could not try to sell it privately knowing this safety problem exists and dumping this problem onto someone else.it seems very unfair.

Takata recall. This recall is going on 8 months old. Zero progress by audi.

Takata recall. I am afraid to drive this vehicle. Something i am paying a lot of hard earned money for may potentially kill me. I can't sell this vehicle without paying a large amount to cover the difference of what i owe on it. How do i get this problem fixed or sell without owing money?

I find it unacceptable that there is a takata airbag recall and the replacement part is not available.i demand an immediate fix.

Takata recall audi of el paso still has not completed the repair, when contacted them they had no estimated time frame for the repair to be completed

Takata inflators. I have been waiting for over 6 months for my vehicle to be fixed from the takata airbag issue. I was told again 4/17/2018 that the parts are not available. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and want audi to pay for a loaner vehicle until the parts are replaced and the vehicle is safe to drive. Please let me know what we can do to get these parts in and replaced.

Takata recall: i received the takata recall 69n1 for takata sdi driver frontal airbag for my 2012 audi q5. The recall notice also notifies me that a recall repair is not yet available due to unavailable parts. Audi of america informed me that they are not loaning out vehicles to those affected by the recall since not audi vehicles world wide have not had a injury or death due to the airbag. I do not want to be the first audi death or injury due to the airbag especially since i like in a very humid area (central alabama) which i have been told that the airbags are more likely to deploy broken in humid areas. I do not feel safe driving my car. I cannot spend months crossing my fingers that i will not get in an accident while waiting for parts. I would like a car available for me to drive. Thank you.

Takata recall--airbag recall. Not fixed!this is extremely worrisome since i live in a hot, humid state (texas). The problem was identified a while back and yet no fix. Unacceptable.

It's been over a year! this is ridiculous! dealer wasn't willing to rent me a car like volkswagen did for my friend and that air bag was replaced in 3 months....i've been driving my death machine for a yearthey only offered me to trade up for another car but they didn't have the colors i wanted. Now there are 2 airbag recalls on my car and no solution!

Takata recall and more:audi has not resolved this issue since april 2016 and sees no solution in sight. They are not offering to buy back the vehicles, fix them or provide a loaner as a result of this extremely dangerous issue. I am stuck in a dangerous vehicle with no solution in sight. On top of that, since the purchase of this vehicle in september 2015 we have had all sorts of problems including a loose moonroof that had to be fixed 3 times in a month. 4 recalls and 7 visits to service department in a year and 5 months. Makes no sense for such an expensive vehicle and the service of audi of america has been exactly as bad as the car.

Takata recall - this recall was started in february of 2016 yet i was never informed by audi that my vehicle needed the air bag fixed and the audi website states that a solution is still pending. I also have a second recall related to the fuel pump that began in september of 2016.i need to know if the vehicle can already be fixed for the takata recall and until what date i have to take it to an audi dealer for repair.

Takata recall has been 10 months, driving around a soon 10 month old baby. No rental car provided by dealership, called corporate 3 times over the 10 month period and explained my situation with the baby and they have no heart. God forbid something is to happen. How is audi not offering rentals like toyota and acura. Disgrace to not offer car rentals or comparable trade ins.

Tacata air bag recall - safety recall 69n1 ... 2 years and counting the part is not available, audi is doing nothing to help.i have small children, this is a ridiculous the part is not available.

Takata recallwhy is the "remedy" for the driver airbag inflator not yet available? the recall date is a full 6 months old. This is preposterous when audi and takata know the fix involves the installation of a new inflator...we have no incident (death or injury) to report at this time. How many deaths are needed to force the hand of takata and/or audi?

Takata recall. It has now been over 1 year since this vehicle was recalled for the airbag problem and it hasn't been fixed and nobody can tell us when it can be fixed. Unacceptable and unsafe!

Takata recall . I own both an audi and a vw covered by the april 2016 recall.it's six months later and have heard absolutely nothing regarding replacement. I know that this is an enormous issue but would expect at a minimum a periodic update regarding the timeframe. Unlike the diesel issue , my life is at risk while operating these vehicles.

Takata recall. It has been 15 months since the recall and audi has offered nothing, such as a car rental as other manufacturer's have done. I have called many audi dealerships and the corporate offices requesting an equal trade-in on an unaffected q5 model, such as the 2013 i believe is not recalled; or a car rental. I have a 14 month old and cannot drive the baby around in this vehicle. Audi has told me not to worry - 'there have been no fatalities in german made vehicles due to the takata recall'. I am very disappointed and ask assistance or remedy resolved immediately.

What the f is going on. Still no replacement

Takata recall: i have contacted many dealers (since may 2017) around my area and they mentioned they are awaiting parts from takata company. I do have an 2012 audi q5. Not sure how to resolve this. I wanted to be safe and see if you can help us in any way. Thank you

Takata inflators

I am a military service member assigned in stuttgart, germany.my vehicle was shipped here in december 2017, at that time there were no open recalls.now my vehicle is affected by the takata airbag recall.below is what i sent audi of america as well as their response.please assist in resolving this matter because audi of usa did not provide a viable, safe solution. Thank youmy vehicle is in stuttgart, germany and was shipped as part of my military work directed move in october 2017. This vehicle has an open takata airbag recall and yesterday i visited a local german dealership who informed me they would not assist with inspecting my car or replacing an airbag if needed. Could you please and urgently let me know how i can resolve this recall issue while my vehicle is in stuttgart, germany?i am very disappointed that a local dealership would not assist considering the risk posed to the driver and other drivers/pedestrians if this airbag issue is not resolved in a timely manner. I also have concerns continuing to drive the vehicle to work if there is an open recall item issued.

Takata recall.i own a 2012 audi q5.i drive my 2 young children to school in my audi and have no other alternative mode of transportation.i feel incredibly nervous and in danger driving my children and myself in such an unsafe vehicle.audi refuses to give me a loaner vehicle and has no time frame as to when repairs may be done.i contacted audi headquarters and my local dealer several times voicing my safety concern.i was told by both parties that each other were to blame for the lack of resolution.it's unbelievable to me, that audi, being an expensive luxury brand, would give me such a run around and have no protocol on how to handle this takata recall situation.it's shocking how blatantly audi has no regard for their customers safety.my husband's vehicle, acura tl 2012 had the same recall. Acura dealer instructed my husband to stop driving the car immediately and provided a loanerfor concern of my husbands safety.within 2 months, they fixed the vehicle and all is well.it was a painless experience he greatly appreciated.i expected the same fair treatment from audi being a premier luxury car brand.i don't understand why audi doesn't feel any obligation to ensure the safety of their customers.all i'm asking for is a safe vehicle to drive until they can repair my q5.it is a huge disappointment.i hope you can help remedy my desperate concern.thank you.

Takata recall. I would like my airbags replaced immediately. Audi currently "has no remedy available." i find this life threatening and unacceptable.

Takata recallwe got a communication from audi in april 2016 that we will receive a follow-up letter on the next steps to get the airbag fixed.two months later i got the exact same message from the dealer - "we do not not when you will receive the follow-up letter but it will be many months."this is not particularly useful since it is a critical safety issue.looking from better guidance and communication from audi usa and takata.thanks.

Takata recall - have not received a notification of when the airbag will be replaced by the dealership.

Takata recall

*** takata recall ***i am filing a complaint with nhtsa because i feel i am driving a, so to speak, "loaded gun." i find it completely irresponsible that my vehicle maker, audi, as well as takata, have not reached out to me regarding a very serious defect in my car. As you are well aware, this is a problem that has led to serious harm and death, yet, by sheer coincidence, i just so happened to stumble upon this story and find that my car is one of the affected. To make matters worse, i find out that there is no remedy to this problem. Neither takata nor audi are taking measures to get my car off the road protecting me and my family.

Engine dies with out notice while in motion.receiving warning not to exceed 4000rpms,low oil pressurewarning with flashingepc.

My vehicle is equipped with optional keyless entry/operation called audi advanced key. I drove the vehicle using the keyless feature for approximately 15-20 minutes to pick up child from school. The key was in my purse and placed in the front passenger side seat. Upon returning home, the car was parked in its usual outside parking spot. I placed the vehicle in park, turned off the vehicle and unlocked all doors using the button on the driver side door (all doors are set to automatically lock upon driving the vehicle above 5mph). Never moving my purse and key from the front seat where initially placed, i exited the vehicle and closed the door to retrieve my child. Upon closing the door, the vehicle beeped and locked the doors automatically - which would have been unusual in any circumstance even if the keys were outside the vehicle. Audi advanced key system should not allow a vehicle to lock when keys are inside the vehicle. This caused my child to be stranded, still strapped to his car seat (2-years old) for over half an hour until the fire department arrived. A call to 911 emergency services was made and fire department responded. The vehicle is well maintained only by an audi dealership based on the manufacturer's recommended service timeline and has never been in an accident. Potential causes may include faulty cpu programming and/or electrical systems. Based on internet searches, problem appears more frequent than normal - especially with trunk access. Luckily this incident was not during a hot summer day, but can pose risk to small children.

Timing chain jumped at 63,000 miles. And vehicle also needed cylinder head replacement.

The contact owns a 2012 audi q5. While the vehicle was idling at a traffic light, the "change key battery" warning indicator illuminated and the engine stalled. The vehicle would not restart while the key was in the ignition; however, it restarted when the key fob was pressed. The failure only occurred once. The dealer stated that this type of failure occurred when the battery inside the key fob was not charged. The key fob was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 12,000.

I was driving at highway speed (~65 mph) today when traffic quickly came to a stop and i brake fairly hard.about when the car came to a stop, a "tpms malfunction" (tire pressure monitoring system) error message came on the dash and the car could no longer accelerate, as the engine was disconnected from the transmission.the gear shift lever was in "drive", but the engine was free-revving as if the transmission was in "neutral".i shifted to "s" (sport) mode - no change.i shifted to "park" and then back to "drive" - no change.traffic on the highway had begun moving and i was stranded, blocking traffic.after another attempt, i shut off the vehicle and turned it back on.at that point, "drive" engaged properly and i was able to drive back home safely.my vehicle has been maintained properly at all regularly scheduled service intervals.i had not experienced this issue before, but, after reading through blogs, it seems like this is an issue that several audi vehicles have experienced over the last few years and it's not clear if audi of america considers this recall worthy.my perspective is that this is a significant safety concern and warrants further investigation, as it is intermittent and acute.in other words, it is unpredictable / recurring and can have a serious impact if it happens at the wrong time, unlike a normal wear-and-tear issue.thank you for taking the time to consider this incident as one that is worthy of further investigation.

Low oil pressure reading metal fragments in engine cause engine to fail.

The contact owns a 2012 audi q5. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle using the push to start button, the vehicle failed to start-up. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to audi south coast (1425 auto mall dr, santa ana, ca 92705, (657) 213-3961) however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and the contact was informed that the starter and the engine control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was no repaired a second time. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,276.

While driving car, the engine light came on,there was no noise or indication of a failure.the car did seem a little low on power. Took the car to the deal where the diagnosed that the turbo charger failed after only 45,371 miles.with the vehicle having averaged less than 10,000 miles driven per year, the failure is not from excessive wear or use.

With 100,000 miles the vehicle started using oil quickly.overtime after oil changes had to consistently add 1 liter every two weeks.without notice vehicle completely failed and wouldn't turn over.everything lights up and works on the inside but the engine won't turn over which is the same problem as 2011 recall.this causes me to have a non working vehicle and still having payments.when asked about repairing was told i need a whole new motor at a minimum of $8,000.

I purchased my 2012 audi from carmax with 20,??? miles on it. It now has 106,000. I noticed more oil consumption than it should. I am very very on top of maintaining my vehicles. Regular maintenance original audi parts during replacement.... Then my check engine light came on. Had the code checked and it was turbo booster problem and crankshaft. Was told fixing crankshaft may possibly fix turbo booster code without paying $3,000-4,000 to fix. As they were fixing it i was told the crankshaft had red letters on it meaning it came from a junkyard prior to my purchasing it! so it had to have gone bad before 20,000 miles which is ridiculous! so i paid the $500.00 to fix it and drove it 158 miles and the check engine light came on again. So i just burned $500.00 for nothing! i love my audi but i will never ever purchase an audi that is such an unreliable vehicle again. In doing research i see that 2012 audi engines are very very bad news! apparently this is happening to a lot of audi owners. Buyer beware!

Excessive oil consumption

Timing chain jumped at 63,000 miles. And vehicle also needed cylinder head replacement.

Class action law suit for audi usa for excessive oil consumption in models up to 2011, has not fixed the issue becasue alot of people claim the same issue with audi including my 2012 audi q5. More than 1 qt of oil every 200 miles is alot and this seems to be a issue with audi, i have had mu engine check by more than one shop, had a skoke test and oil consumption test done on it and the oil is burning excessively with no resolutions.

Engine dies with out notice while in motion.receiving warning not to exceed 4000rpms,low oil pressurewarning with flashingepc.

Audi q5 tfsi 2.0t engine upper timing cover oil leak, causes water pump to leak over and over again. Until you fix the oil leak, you cannot fix the water pump leaking.

Coolant pump leak & overheat

With normal city driving speed engine rode rough and then stopped.towed to audi dealership where they diagnosed a timing chain tensioner problem like many others, but even though mine is the same issue, it is not part of the current settlement class.cost to repair is more than $6,000.

Im loosing a liter of oil every 200-500 miles and tyranny feels like it slips a little but the oil consumption is why im writing this i bought my 2012 audi q5 premium sport edition with a 2.0 turbo with 80,000 miles and was not told about the oil consumption!!

The coolant/water pump leaks coolant. This pump is located under the hood next to the engine.

Entering my garage, about halfway in the car suddenly accelerated forward; i had my foot on the brake while entering and immediately pushed down hard, the car skidded and stopped; i immediately put the car in neutral and the engine revved up to between 4000 and 5000 rpms, and then quickly dropped back to normal idle.just before reaching the house and the garage incident, the car momentarily speeded up and then came back to normal speed.i was going about 15 mph and it all happened so suddenly i didn't realize what had happened.it wasn't until the garage incident that i realized what had happened out on the street.

Since january 2019, the vehicle oil light has been turning more and more frequently. I was told by audi dealership that it is normal to add a quart every 1000 miles or so. I am adding a quart per 100 miles. When communicating with audi dealership my claims were dismissed and i was told work costs to replace piston rings would be over $6000 dollars. When researching class action lawsuit, my engine code is the one that is affected by the oil consumption problem, but when communicating that to audi of america hotline, i was told that my vehicle has not been rewarded any extended warranty.

Catastrophic engine failure caused by jumped timing chain caused by defective timing chair tensioner. I purchased my vehicle on 12/03/2015 with 45,483 miles. I maintained my vehicle at independent mechanics due to the dismal service at the only dealership in town and its poor online reviews. I frequently added oil to the engine when prompted by the car. On january 10, 2016, i left the gym and started my car. It took longer than normal to turn over, and the check engine light was illuminated. The next day, i took the car to autozone who pulled the p001600 dtc code (crank position sensor and camshaft position sensor correlation). I took the car to my local mechanic, who also pulled the p001600 in addition to the p02900 dtc (turbo under boost). That mechanic also heard noise from engine timing cover area and coolant seepage/leak at the water pump area. They recommended the car be towed to a specialist, which was done. He pulled the p001600 (237) dtc code and a p0562 low voltage code. At this time, i contacted audi of america and notified them of the issue. I was made aware of the timing chain class action lawsuit regarding the defective tensioner, but informed that my vin wasn't covered. At their recommendation, the car was towed to an audi dealership. All service records, oil receipts, etc were provided to audi. Audi "declined assistance", leaving me with an undriveable car, a $750 bill from the mechanic,$55 tow bill, $150 (and growing) rental car charge, and an estimate of over $8k to re-build the engine. Additional records available.

I drove my car to work, parked in the garage, picked up the car, the garage attendant brought it to me and turned off the ignition.the car was in park when i tried to start the car, but it would not turn over and ultimately the engine never started again.i had it towed to audi manhattan the next morning.the car has not worked since.it will be a week this coming friday, august 4, 2017.

It came to my attention at 70,000 miles that i had to occasionally add oil between oil changes. At 95,000 miles the oil consumption increased. Currently at 100,000 miles oil consumption increased to a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Two auto repair businesses, including shearer audi of south burlington vermont, have looked at my car. Each repair business tells me that there are two costly possibilities to fix the car. The bottom line is that it seems to need a new engine block and pistons and all. It seems that shearer audi service rep should have warned me that there might be a problem with the oil consumption before my audi's warranty was up.it also seems that the 2012 q5 should have been included in the class action oil consumption law suit. As you are aware, audi has been aware of this defect for years and yet the 2012 2.0t engine does not seem to be redesigned to fix the problem.

I noticed my oil light coming on frequently and audi told me that they thought it was a faulty hood latch sensor. After about 6 months i ended up paying to replace the hood latch only to find out a month later that my oil light came back on so they told me just add oil. After another year they amount of oil has increased rapidly and i'm currently at 79,600 miles. I found out there was a class action lawsuit on my car up to year 2011 on this exact issue. Problem is i have a 2012 that was ordered in 2011 and i have the same engine model caeb has the others. I fill up 1 quart every time i fill my tank. Audi told me it was okay to keep filling with oil and it wouldn't be any damage, when i found out it does cause damage. There is no oil leaking from the bottom, so it is scoring in my piston rings.

Car burning excessive oil.the oil light comes on all the time. Oil consumption is not normail.i have to add oil every 1000 miles.from what i hear from other audi owners to repair the engine it will cost around $6,000.00.the pistons and rings are defective and since there are soooo many complaints, audi should recall this issue and fix it for all affected vehicles.

I am having to add oil every 500-800 miles. I did not have the oil consumption test done due to it sounds like a waste of money and they do not even fix the problem. Is anyone having these problems in the 2013 models? i am thinking about trading it in or maybe i should just go to a different make truck.

Engine misfire due to timing chain tensioning system fail.

My car was purchased on july 20th 2019, with 105k miles...i am having to add oil every 400-100 miles...i am also beginning to see random alerts and cannot seem to rest them when no defects are found.this is very frustratingand causing major confusion and concerns.

Extreme oil consumption (burning 2+ quarts in less than 500 miles); cutting off while idling. Yes it is available for inspection upon request. If this is a leak, it could possibly catch on fire while my child is driving to school, or it could cut off while driving causing a bad accident. Yes it has been confirmed by a repair facility. Check/add oil indicator; check engine light; emits black smoke from rear. Issues appeared 2 days after purchasing the car.

The contact owns a 2012 audi q5. While the vehicle was at penske audi west covina (2016 e garvey ave s, west covina, ca 91791, 866-713-0688) for routine maintenance, the dealer discovered that the water pump and assembly had fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000. The vin was unknown. Updated 11/26/18

Heavy oil consumption and leaks into gas, ignition and other areas

Oil consumption is getting worse and worse.currently, i am adding a quart of oil every 3 days in between regular oil changes.this is a real issue.i just spent 5,000 dollars approx. On a tune up at a foreign car body shop but they could not repair the oil issue.this is now a known issue with audis.what can be done to help this issue?

Vehicle was in motion on a highway and experienced problems with the turbo underboosting. Error code was p0299 negative pressure deviation, turbocharged excessive wastegate play occurred on audi with 68k. Requires a new turbo charger to fix.

Water pump broken at 39,000 miles. Broken plastic propeller.car started "bucking" as i pulled in to get it inspected. I was advised that the car was not drivable...water pump failures are sited on the internet by many.i have talked to audi customer service without success.audi owners report that they have been given payment for the pump and extended warranty.please advise what options i have in this situation.

Excessive oil consumption. Needs 1 quart of oil per tank of gas, more often with city driving. Issues most likely with original rings and pistons. Repair likely $6000. Oil consumption not disclosed as a problem when i bought the car 4000 miles ago. Currently 106,000 miles.

Timing chain and/or timing chain tensioner failure on my vehicle.this same issue is iin a class action lawsuit. My vehicle engine size and year are listed but my car is not covered.i have they exact same issue with my vehicle and will have to pay thousands of dollars to have repaired.i feel like this issue should be extended to other vin #'s that are having the exact same issue but are not being acknowledged by audi.the vehicle barely starts and does not have any power when moving forward. It was in motion.

2012 audi q5.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair airbag or fuel pump flange.

The contact owns a 2012 audi q5. The contact stated that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v660000 (fuel system). The vehicle was taken to audi west houston (15865 katy fwy, houston, tx 77094) to be repaired. While repairing the fuel pump flange, the dealer cut the fuel line, which prevented the vehicle from being driven and allowed fuel to leak in the back seat. The dealer did not claim responsibility for the failure. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 130,000.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

I ran my vin # and the only recall i see listed is the: 69n1 recall. However i know these vehicles have 2 more:20w9 & 69p1

Takata recall. I am afraid to drive this vehicle. Something i am paying a lot of hard earned money for may potentially kill me. I can't sell this vehicle without paying a large amount to cover the difference of what i owe on it. How do i get this problem fixed or sell without owing money?

Drive 2012 audi q5 2.0t premium plus. I was driving back home and malfunction indicator light (mil) showed up. The engine is making whistling sound. I took my car to audi dealership and they informed me that the high pressure fuel pump and some other parts would need replacement. I got a letter from audi about warranty extension for fuel injector to 120k miles. As per the dealership, this is a different issue. When researched online, this is a very known issue and alot of audi 2.0t engines have come up with this issue. My car just went out of warranty and is at 54k miles, this is upsetting that such a known issue and i've to pay for this.

I have code po299 turbocharger/supercharger a underboost condition. I was under warranty in 2016 to have my pistons and rings replaced because the oil consumpion was very high, now i'm burning more oil and i changed the diverter valve i'm still coming up with p0299 code and need to replace my turbo after 60k miles from the piston and rings replacement...i think this all has to be part of the same problem and audi should repair it for free.

The car would not start when i went to pull out of garage. The car was stationary. On the 8th attempt it started and i drive it to work. It felt like it was going to stall out when i stopped or slowed down. I put the key in ignition it would go on but not start and turn off. The epc light went on. This is the first and only time this has happened however it still feels like it is going to stall out when i am in pro or stopped at a light or when i slow down under 10 mph. I took it to the audi dealership and was told it was the timing chain which is a 2600.00 repair.

When i replaced the front brake rotor and pad, i found the lower caliper guide pin bushing was stuck. It stuck so badly and took a lot of hammering to get it out. The bushing was heavily rusted. Since the caliper will not move with a stuckbushing, the outside pads will not fully engage with the rotor to provide adequate braking force. Noticed the inner pad is almost gone while the outer pads still have 5mm left. The bushing is such a small yet safety critical part, should be made of stainless steel. Audi charges more than $40 for spare, with that price, one would expect better quality. Yet it seems audi puts profit above safety.

Break make loud squeal sound at low speed.i replaced with rotor and pads but the noise came back a few months later. Tried to work with audi to let them pay for another set of rotor and pads, but they refused. Audi does not consider this is a safety issue, and no solution at this point. However, my wife complained that the noise is changing her driving behavior, as she tends to break less or at the last second in order to lower the noise. At first i don't believe it, but i drove her car one day and quickly adapted to it as the noise is so bad.

The distance between the accelerator and brake peddle is inadequate and on multiple instances my foot has gotten stuck.it has gotten stuck while accelerating and also when going to move my foot off the accelerator and onto the brake peddle.

At the stationary my steering is very stiff, and is very hard to turn it. I almost hit the parked car and the person standing next to it when i was pulling out from the parking lot. Also the dealership diagnostic is that the steering shaft is has the tendency to seize up and look and is very dangers. I have contacted the audi usa and they say is not their problem and they won't take any actions to fix this. I am pretty sure that i am not the only one who complains about this. Audi is aware of the issue and according to the complaines on q5 they improved the steering shafts, but don't won't to take care of the previous known issue to them. I am very concerned about safety of the surroundings and for my family safety driving this vehicle, according to them when i report the issue they say that i don't have strong case.

Due to extreme cold weather the rear sunroof glass pane shattered. The vehicle was parked over night in negative degree weather; not in motion. Audi dealership recognizes this as a natural caused instance, not covered by warranty and not covered under the past recall, which was only for the front sunroof glass pane.

This is a design defect.the side mirrors are too large and placed in a location on the window that creates a blind spot and in particular the driver's side there are instances when you can not see a car coming at you from the left, or of you are turning left you cannot see if there is an island.while we have not had an accident, it is a hazard and should be rectified.this has given rise to a number of near accidents and i have tried to get audio to listen to me.

While driving at steady highway speed and all windows closed, the car front sunroof glass section "exploded" quite loudly with glass bits thrown into the air and other small chunky sections falling into the fabric liner area. Happily not into the cabin. About 2-3 inch broken perimeter edge of glass remains in place. No indication of road debris hitting the car (nor passing by an overpass or from truck roof etc. Outside temp about 75f. See included pics.

The lower control arms wear out very quickly. The latest ones i added on 11/7/2017. And were replaced on 9/1/2018. This is the 3rd set, since the oem factory control arms were installed in april 2012 in germany.

The oil light comes on approximately every two weeks saying it's safe to drive but add oil. This has been going on for since 2 months after i purchased the car. I add a quart of oil each time and when i took it in to get checked i was told this car was checked for this issue previously. They said there are no leaks that the car is just burning oil. They gave no valid reason. The car has been checked twice for this oil problem and no results. When i was turning onto the highway a month ago the car light came on and said turn off vehicle now. No warning other than add oil car is still safe to drive. I pulled to the side of the highway and the car stalled out and turned off automatically before i was in park. Only going about 5-10 mph. After a few minutes i tried to restart a few times and it finally started. I went home and added oil to it yet again. I need to add oil when're the light comes on as to not have it shut off on me.

My car was purchased on july 20th 2019, with 105k miles...i am having to add oil every 400-100 miles...i am also beginning to see random alerts and cannot seem to rest them when no defects are found.this is very frustratingand causing major confusion and concerns.

I have already filled the online form about my vehicle but will also send to audi carewa1dkafp8ca096667i had low oil pressure warning at 32000 miles and was towed.i was told when i went for the first time for low oil pressure, they thought may be the oil switch was at fault and i had to pay for it with just 32000 miles on itoil pressure low warning came back again with starting the engine on the driveway.had to tow it back to jack ingram in montgomery and now was told its the seal of the crank shaft at fault. I think its a saftey issue with warning i cant drive warning onstranded on the street.i request you all to look inti oil leak from cramshaft thanksdinesh

My husband and i were driving in my 2012 audi q5 on the highway on may 4 when the sunroof shattered, dropping glass all over the interior of the car and us. There were no other vehicles ahead of or next to us, no overpasses, no people... The sunroof blew out from the inside and the vehicle behind us swerved as glass flew at their car. We were traveling at 75 mph, the legal speed for the road. The temperature was a moderate 73 degrees f. The car just turned over 40,000 miles and the warranty expired on jan. 31. The car is kept in the garage at home and at work.

Was pulling into my parking spot at work (slowing down, stepping on brake) when car suddenly accelerated to wide open throttle.i pressed hard on the on brake, it would not stop. It was bucking like a bronco. It went over the curb, across the sidewalk. By then i was standing on the brake with both feet. It took out a 3-ft. Tall light on the lawn before i threw it into neutral and stopped it.

The distance between the accelerator and brake peddle is inadequate and on multiple instances my foot has gotten stuck.it has gotten stuck while accelerating and also when going to move my foot off the accelerator and onto the brake peddle.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 audi q5. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v001000 (visibility and air bags) and 16v078000 (air bags). The parts were not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The dealer indicated that the parts may become available mid september 2017. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the vehicle would receive the recall repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The rear view mirror height is stationary and not adjustable.for many(?) persons, when looking and or turning to the right approximately 1/3 of the field of vision is blocked, making it difficult to see the road, possible pedestrians, objects, vehicles etc.also, the position of the cruise control switch behind the lower left of the steering wheel makes operation difficult, possibly causing distracted driving, since it has to be operated while the vehicle is in motion.

The rear view mirror fell off. A small clip that holds it on was broken simply adjusting the mirror.i was sitting at a red light when it happened. The mirror was put back on but if i touch it or adjust it will fall off.

The housing for the sunroof cracked on the passenger side and water is running down the headliner and a-pillar and soaking the passenger side floor as it drains down. Audi quoted $3500 to fix the issue.

The driver's side mirror has a very large housing and causes a blind spot just to the left of the driver's side.i have had 2 near misses, one with almost hitting a car and one with almost hitting a pedestrian.they were in the blind spot when i began to make a left turn, from a stop, and did not see them.i was on a city street, stopped and then began to make a left turn on both occasions.

Wipers stop- the wipers have "off", "intermittent", slow, fast. When the wipers are in "slow" and the car comes to a stop (such as a red light, stop sign, pedestrian, turning across traffic) the wipers stop! whilethe car is stopped they may start in 5 sec, 10 sec , 20 sec (based on rain sensor?) or when you start moving & reach 2-3 miles per hour (how do you start moving when you can't see?). If you need to move & they have not started to wipe, you must move the lever so you can see to start moving. If you leave them in the fast speed (too fast for most of the time), they will slow but not stopwhen the car stops. I've takenit to the dealer & spoken with audi customer service & they say they are working "as designed"! who designs wipers to stop in the middle of the street during the rain?!updated 06/25/2012
