Takata recallaudi has not provided a remedy 10 months after the recall. We are driving an unsafe and dangerous vehicle. Audi shall replace the car until fix is completed.

Takata recall.i have not had my airbag replaced and don't feel comfortable driving my car with a possibly defective airbag.do you have any information as to when this will be remedied?

Hello, there is an open recall for my 2001 audi q5:start date: feb 09, 2016, audi action code: 69n1description:takata has reported that the driver frontal airbag inflator could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.nhtsa recall number: 16v078so the driver airbag inflator has to be replaced.i brought my car to the audi service (3200 columbia pike, arlington, va 22204). I was told that the airbag inflator replacement campaign is expected to start not earlier than september 2017.since i am leaving the usa in august 2017 and i am planning to bring my car to my country bulgaria, i would like to ask for professional advice what should i do.i would be grateful if you can assist in connecting me with the producer takata to help me with resolving the issue.

Takata recall.recall date was 2/9/2016. Audi has no resolution at this time and cannot provide a date that the airbag will be replaced.

Well first it was the takata airbag recall, but the one i'm complaining about is the recall for the fuel pump and also the fuel pump wiring which was also removed from our vehicle, and we're like two about how it was part of the recall for the fuel pump .anyway i've already put a complaint about this and how it has malfunctioned other important components of our vehicle including the fuel pump flange which was also replaced coils spark plugs sensors etc.what i'm complaining about now is i've contacted audi usa and they have string us along for almost a year going back-and-forth to different audi dealerships and getting different responses or different diagnosis of what is wrong with the car. Recently we had our audi q5 2011 fully diagnosed and now we cometo a whole new dilemma and malfunction of our vehicle. We knew the fuel injectors were going bad because of the wiring which was not properly installed for the fuel pump which caused the alternator also to go bad and the sensors and not to forget about the spark plugs and coils. We thought we finally were going to get our car fixed at no charge to us even though wei knew that our warrantee was outdated, but we thought maybe since the recall had a lot to do with it audi would take care of it. Well almost a year and guess what audi declined the work of replacing the fuel injectors. When i asked them whythey continue to give me the same response which i already know, that my vehicle is out of warranty, tell me something i don't know, we were only asking for the right thing to be done and what seems fair. Last time i ever buy an audi

Takata recall.. Nothing... Has happened, and i have been notified of this issue by audi.. But wanted to record that nothing has need done.there is also a fuel pump flange recall that has not been addressed.no issues at this time.

My vehicle went to the audi fife dealership.advised i needed a new engine.i tried to trade in the vehicle and i was advised that my car had -0-trade in value. They wouldn't accept on a trade-in.they said it was worthless.i towed the vehicle home and i noticed on my paperwork that the dealership completed "3" recalls without my permission or knowledge.i asked service why they completed these recalls on a worthless vehicle that i had to tow home.a vehicle the dealership didn't want.i found out that this dealership is collecting over $14,000 for recalls that i didn't authorize on a vehicle that they said was worthless.i can't even verify if the dealership actually did the recalls.this is an unethical practice for this dealership to tell me my vehicle is worthless without an engine; won't accept on a trade; towed my vehicle home but they collect $14,000.

Takata rcallnot done

We were transferred from chicago to germany at the end of 2014 and as the audi recall for the airbag and fuel flange were now available we scheduled the vehicle for service on 11/12 jan 2017.the dealer had the recalls in the system and printed them out as a service order for repair.on 12th january the dealer called and said audi ag would not authorize the repairs.i called again today 13 feb 2017 and the dealers service representative daniel carr said they would not authorize and that the dealer has no way of ordering the parts without audi ag and that i should contact an american dealership in the us.

Takata recall. I live in a zone a high risk area with high heat and humidity (hawaii) for the takata airbag to spontaneously explode or explode as a result of an accident, and audi has, as of yet, not provided any solution for a loaner car or rental car to address the risk of injury or fatality in driving the 2011 audi q5. I have contacted audi usa and audi hawaii, and neither wants to take responsibility or ownership for the problems with the takata airbag recall, and thus far, have offered no solutions. ...updated 04/20/17

Its been over a year i am aware of the recall, i have been serviced several times at 2 different dealers both state that they do not have parts to complete this recall. In january 2017 i was in a head on collision and the air bag did not deploy! i was told by the last dealer during 2 other recalls that nj will have supplies come this fall! i would like this recall completed asap as its been over a year! plus having been in an accident head on its not to reassuring knowing the airbag will not deploy!

Unresolved engine issue. Recall that they will not fix. Unable to trade in vehicle anywhere because of the active recall. Feel trapped in an unsafe 'family' car.

Takata airbag recall campaign not implemented on my vehicle yet. Audi just performed an audi recall on the drivers side airbag igniter however this does not address the recall.audi appears to be telling consumers however that it does.

Takata recalli received the safety recall notice from audi in april 2016.i called my local dealer and was told the "part weren't available yet."it is now november 2016 and when checking on this again i am told the parts still aren't available.i find this unacceptable and i wonder why the nhtsa doesn't find it unacceptable as well.i called audi customer service and was told they have "no idea when they are getting replacement parts from takata."however, audi is obviously still making these cars and since they can find new airbags to put in new cars, why isn't anyone pressuring the manufacturer to fix the cars they sold in the past before they use those parts on new cars!!!it seems that they don't care about this since takata will be liable if i die in an accident.however, i hold audi and the nhtsa responsible because it doesn't appear that anyone cares about people that bought cars a few years ago since the existing supply of good airbags is going into new cars that haven't been sold yet.i also find it odd that in the progress towards completion report on your website, there is no data at all for audi, which makes me think audi has done nothing to expedite this recall while all of their competitors have.why does the nhtsa allow this?please investigate and respond, i would greatly appreciate it.i now have two recalls for my 2011 q5, the takata airbag and now the fuel pump that could blow up.sounds like i am driving a very dangerous car and no one is pressuring the manufacturer to fix either item.

We received a notice from audi in april that our vehicle was recalled due to faulty air bags.after further investigation, we learned that the recall was actually announced on february 10, 2016.as of today, september 19, 2016 no remedy had been provided by audi.when we discussed options with the dealership where we bought the vehicle, audi boulder, they described the car as a "death trap".their only solution was for us to buy a new car from them. We do not feel safe driving this car until the situation is resolved and will be exploring all options to get this matter resolved.

Takata recalli was notified by my dealership that my audi q5 contained faulty airbags that possibly could result in death if activated in an accident. This notification took placefive months ago. I would like to know exactly how long i will have to wait for the replacement of these airbags.

After my q5 has been in the service department 3 times for the same issue broke down on a very busy highway with my small child on board.my audi advisor told me to try to bring it to the dealer.we did not make it.car had to be towed.after 2 weeks, i was advised i needed a new engine at the cost of $14,700.this is after it had been fixed several times before for the same issue.secondly, it has a recall that has been published and audi's response to me was the recall repair is not available yet.they are however are working with takata to produce replacement parts.so, again they are jeopardizing mine and my families safety.and the oil consumption is ridiculous.no vehicle should use a quart of oil every 1000 miles.this is an unacceptable company and their responses are all scripted.

Takata recallstill no solution.i can't trade this vehicle in and i'm afraid to drive.audi doesn't know when their will be a solution.

Takata recalli have had a recall for the airbag on my vehicle since feb 2016. I have been calling audi dealerships since october 2016 to get the service complete but was initially told it would be available by end of 2016. It is now mid-march 2017 and having just spoken to audi, they are saying there are no parts available yet. They have said this safety issue is more applicable to hot-humid states and california is not one of them. However, i do drive to other hot-humid states frequently and this is a major cause for concern.

Still driving a car with a hazardous air bag issue.why hasn't audi been required to provide a rental until a fix is available? this should have been resolved months ago.

Takata recallafter 10 months of receiving a recall notice, the takata replacement bags are still not available from fromaudi dealer. I also received a recall in november regarding fuel pump flange -- after calling my dealer several times, i am told replacement offered byrecall notice is not available, may not be for several months - this is fire hazard.audi leaves me to drive a vehicle with 2 serious defects, which they know about, and make no effort to deal with the recall or offer me a replacement vehicle. How can this be accepted?

Takata recall issued in 2016 but my dealer has been waiting over 6 weeks for parts to do the interim repair.air bags have never deployed but i remain concerned about possible injury in the event of an accident

Takata recall - have not received indication that driver airbag is available for installation.this car is almost 6 years old and we live in a hot humid climate.it is my understanding that these factors increase the likelihood of an airbag problem.

On friday aug. 12 2016, i paid a visit to jim ellis audi (audi atlanta) on 5805 peachtree blvd, atlanta, ga 30341. I was looking to purchase a used 2014 sq5. I currently have a 2011 q5 2.0t. I was informed due to the takata airbag recall on my vehicle, they were only going to send the vehicle off to auction, because they did not want to be bothered with the recall and the owner jim ellis had directed them to send vehicles with the airbag recall straight to auction without fixing the recalled airbag.

Received a letter in april 2016 from audi stating that my 2011 q5 has the takata air bag system and my be deadly if involved in a front end crash.as of this time, there is no recourse and no available parts to fix the automobile as per online chat with audi on 09/01/2016.

Takata recallnhtsa recall number: 16v078 recall date: february 9, 2016manufacturer recall number: 69n1summary:takata has reported that the driver frontal airbag inflator could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.safety risk:as reported by takata: in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.remedy:replace driver airbag inflator.recall status: recall incomplete it has now been 17 months since a recall was issued. We have contacted our audi dealership on 6 separate occasions to schedule the repair. Each time, we have been informed that the part is not yet ready, and that we are "in queue for the next round of repairs." it is utterly unacceptable that in 17 months, the responsible manufacturers have not produced enough parts to meet the demand of a potentially fatal flaw, and service providers are unable to provide any timeline for when recall requests will be fulfilled!as of july 11,2017, audi is still unable to provide us of even a date when this recall can be addressed.

Takata recall

Took suv in for recall x3 (2) separate dealers, was told they do not have the part in yet to replace it. I was in a head on collision this past january 2017 the air bag didnt deploit.

We have been notified by audi usa that the airbags on our car might be dangerous. They have not come up with a replacement nor replacement date. We are in the process of selling the car and see that the value of the car is impaired if this recall is not rectifies. What are our options here?

How do you get the parts i have gone on line talked to several people and have no clue when we are getting replacement air bags some people say 1 to 3 years and that is not exceptable.

This airbag recall was issued a year ago and no remedy has been made available while more people have continued to die.an immediate solution needs to be made available for myself and others so that no more lives are senselessly lost

I am emailing this letter and hopefully someone will respond to my request of reopening my claim regarding my 2011 audi q5's recent and pattern like problems. Hopefully the reference number above shows my cars history and explains how it's all gotten to me addressing the problem again.around that time was when we were having problems with the audi service dept in chandler az, the fact that we were lied to by the supervisor when he stated that changing the wiring was part of the recall for the fuel pump and fuel flange, when in fact it was not. Two of the three main components for our fuel injection system have been replaced, the most important the fuel pump and the regulator, three times we took it back because they never got it right the first time. That is not including all the others things that have been changed, electrical system wiring, and major parts of the engine.recently we took our audi to the service dept in scottsdale az , for the recall of the air canister and also because it was beginning to smell like gas again and the check engine light turned on and trouble with the startup of our vehicle. Had it checkedout by a certified mechanic, which told me it was the alternator. I had just bought a brand new gel battery at autozone, didnt want the bad alternator to drain my new battery so since i knew it had been replaced before by audi in chandler, i told the service advisor that it was bad, and if he could please check and replace. Before that i also had it rechecked at autozone and oriellys and they told me the same thing, bad alternator....hopefully you see where i'm getting at. I'm trying to be as detail as possible, so sorry for the length of this letter. To no surprise of mine the service advisor calls me back and tells me that my fuel injectors are going bad, whattt

Myaudi q5 2011 check engine and epc light continue to light up my dash, vehicle has been diagnosed by the dealership not once not twice but more than three times. Continues to have the same and similar misfires and actually seems to be getting hotter than usual, the engine.i've seen several complaints about recalls on the coolant pump, timing chain, fuel pump flange, fuel pump, wiring sensors, epc light ball joints, and the list goes on.what has me mostly concern is the recalls for all the fuel system components.for example emission control devices like the egr fuel cap fuel gauge sender, feel injection system fuel leaks stalling and hesitation ,have you been seeing one or actually a couple where a fire was initiated while people were in the car .this is a huge safety concern for me and my family who drives the car practically every day it seems that even door car is out of warranty audi should be responsible for all these repairs and recalls and and make it right on their part .if we would've known this car was going to give us that much trouble after buying it from a certified dealer, we would've never even thought or imagined of driving a lemon .after this unfortunate experience and still ongoing one, and the way audi really doesn't takein consideration the safety of its clientele, or its families,i will never take in consideration of buying another audi in my life .

While driving about 45 on the highway, a light came across my dash that said 'parking brake malfunction!' moments later my 2011 audi q5 came to a complete stop causing a 3 car pile up. My car had just been serviced in june and gotten new brakes at that time as well.

In december 2014 climatcontrolmotor andmoduleblow out ,2 month latermmi system is not working .it 's only 36 000 miles . Very disapoointed with thiscar .

My car has had electrical issues that the dealer has not been able to resolve. Things have gotten worse. Yesterday my son through a fit while driving on the freeway and opened the back door while i was going over 60 miles an hour and the door lock light was lit. I feel that under no circumstance should it be possible of the door to be able to open while driving at high speeds. I have discussed this with audi corporate but they were more concerned about me being able to pay for this to be fixed than the issue itself.

Takata recall! the engine light is constantly on and the passenger door is not working properly. One of the doors have trouble locking and the other can't sense the remote for unlocking, it needs to open manually from inside of the vehicle. The engine light comes on immediatelyafter the car is turned on.the vehicle was in the shop for weeks and expended 2k with changing this and that but nothing was fixed. The issue is still exists. The engine light is still on!

The vehicle was purchased with 20,000 miles and has been burning oil since. The car is under warranty and has gone through the manufactures oil consumption test, both 1 and 2 which they are saying barely passed. The car is continuing to burn oil and has gone through phase 1 again for the second time and am being told it passed. Audi states an oil change is good for 10,000 miles and here i am at 7,000 miles having to put oil in it and taking my car to the dealership every few months to test it.

The contact owns a 2011 audi q5. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled and could not be restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact to call nhtsa. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 93,000.

Timing chain tensioner, tensioner etc for camshafts with engine repair. During oil consumption repair the mechanic noticed this issue and it was repaired during the oil consumption repair. 2011 audi q5 75k miles

After running errands i started my audi q5. The engine immediately began to idle hard.no warning lights ect., but enough for concern.drove it immediately to an independent mechanic just blocks away.it has been determined that the tensioner on the timing chain broke causing catastrophic engine failure.i have maintained the car meticulously, and am beside myself over this.i have since learned that this has been a problem for multiple people and there is currently a class action lawsuit filed filed last spring in new jersey for this specific issue.my engine was rebuilt as a result of the recall two years ago on an oil consumption issue.i am being told it will cost me $13,000 for a new engine, but is seems that this was an existing problem that audi kept from its customers.

Audi q5 94,000. I will never never buy audi vehicle again. First started with oil leak, replaced valve cover gasket, then hood latch sensor (german genius). How in the world this bad sensor measures oil level. Rack and pinion leak, then timing cover gasket leak. Then my mechanic replaced driver side upper control arm. Now rear shock is bad. Already spent over $3000 fine, the worst issue i have is traction control light.the dealer (stealer) gave me estimate of$1700 to fix this. The last serious one on 12/23/20 while driving with2 more passengers on busy are in houston near med.center, car engine lost power, shaking violently, then i drove very slowly at around 30 mph. This is audi q5 is nightmare.nhtsa please do something, make audi settle these issues.thank you.

The contact owns a 2011 audi q5. The contact stated that a large quantity of oil leaked and caused the timing chain to fracture. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire engine needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000. Updated 12/20/16*ljthe consumer stated the engine had to be rebuilt, due to an oil leak. Also, at 98,000 miles the timing chain broke. Updated 12/21/16.

The audi 2.0t engine is known to have issues with significant oil consumption.the car has been at audi with this issue several times.during other service visits i have mentioned to the audi dealer that the car burns a quart of oil every 1000-1200 miles.audi claims that this is part of the engine design in order for it to give better fuel economy.this is clearly not true.i have friends with audis equipped with the 2.0t engine and they have zero oil consumption.there are multiple online blogs with other audi owners complaining about this issue.it is clearly something that audi should be forced to issue a recall to resolve the matter.

I was driving my car around some blind curves when i heard a clank kind of sound and clicking and then lost power fortunately i was close enough i coasted home. I was very lucky. I could not get the engine to start and had it towed to the audi dealer he said, engine no start no power: found engine cranks without compression. Found timing chain stretched and jumped timing.removed and inspected valves and found all valves to be bent. At this time we need to replace the cylinder head and timing chain and related parts. Parts: $4800labor: $4835 total: $9635.00 regards,i believe this is a problem that actually is so common that several mechanics have websites on how to protect your chain from doing this. I of course had no idea about any of this before...because no one told me it was an issue!!!! or i would have done the preventative care.also, i just read they are doing a class action suit with this in new jersey.i can tell you i am feeling very nervous about driving my audi again!!!i have no confidence in these chains!

My car would not start and i had my car towed to fort myers audi.after the diagnostics they said the timing chain had failed and caused a cylinder head to crack and the turbo had issues as well.they told us that audi will cover the timing chain and only 50% of the cylinder head.the quote given for the cylinder head was $5,810 (with audi covering $2,905).to repair the turbo charger it will cost $2,175.looking on this website, i have seen several others having the same issue, with the same resulting problems.

I was driving the vehicle on route 30 (greensburg pa) when the vehicle began to lose acceleration which nearly caused a complete loss of power. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop where i was informed the issue involved the front drive chain and support. The mechanic explained that this is a common issue related to audi's. This vehicle only has 6ok mikes on it.

Engine fail due to the timing chain tensioner

Vehicle is burning and consuming oil.i take to dealer for oil changes and last one indicated great.every 4 days i have to put a quart of oil in the truck.i only have 67,000 miles and no warranty.audi isn't taking responsibility for the car.and there are no bulletins or recalls from audi although i've read numerous post about oil consumption in the audi q5.

Less than 1 yr after i purchased my vehicle, i began having problems with oil consumption.i took it to the dealer and they did oil consumption test and replaced crankcase breather valve and front main seal & ecm update. High oil consumption continued, dealer stated that it was acceptable as long as it was 1200 or more per 1/4 qt of oil.i have complained several times and dealer says it is normal for the car.now, i am past my warranty and the car is consuming 1/4 quart oil to 760 miles.after some research on internet found that many people are having issues with the oil consumption on this vehicle and the auto maker is not addressing the issue. Others had pistons and rings changed to resolve the issue. Currently, i am spending an extra $90 a month on oil. I have had many issues with this car and see that this model year is riddled with issues.i also had issues with fuel injectors after receiving notice that it was highly unlikely that my car would have such an issue and after 3 returns to the dealer they finally acknowledge that it was a fuel injection issue and replaced them.

Timing chain and tensioner failed, car became completely inoperable. Stopped in the middle of a major intersection in rush hour.

Timing chain issue that caused it to jump, damaging the cylinder heads and valves.as i was proceeding to stop at at a light, the front end of the car began to shake and the engine seemed off.at a full stop, the engine sputtered again and then proceeded to die. The car wouldn't start, so i could not proceed through the intersection.audi will not cover any damage that was caused and is indicating they are not responsible for the issues with the timing chains. I've searched online and found many other lawsuits where this type of issue has been covered from audi.

Oil consumption issue while driving down the road. Under any acceleration, smoke comes out the exhaust. Uses about 1 quart of oil per 300 miles. Leak down test was done, showing leakage past piston rings. Resulting in a complete rebuild of engine costing me $5,000 plus. Vehicle has just about 100,000 miles.

Excessive oil leaking from undercarriage

After my car had been sitting for 8 days i went in garage to crank it.the car cranked but shook violently.i immediately shut it off.i tried to re crank it but it would not crank.i called audi and had it towed in.they told me the "lifetime" timing chain was stretched.that the repair would cost between $4,000 and $7,000 to fix.i did some quick searching and saw other folks with similar issues.the car has 98,000 miles , always serviced by audi.i called audi and told them this appears to be a re occurring issue and i though they should handle the fix.they called me back and said they would split the cost.i told them to proceed with the repair.this is the second major problem with the engine, the first was "oil consumption"which they repaired for free.another $7,000 fix.i just saw a episode on "news 5 investigates" chicago describing the exact same issue with a vw, and also listing audi's 2011.its on their website.

My 2011 audi q5 would not start one morning when trying to start the car in my garage (dec 2019).i had it towed to the fletcher jones audi dealership in chicago il where i have been a loyal customer since moving here in 2014.they performed a diagnostic and identified that the timing chain tensioner had slipped, and may have caused "catastrophic" failure to my engine.they proceeded to ask for another $1,500 to diagnose the engine for the failure, and mentioned if if had failed it could be up to $10,000 to fix the problem.after a short bit of research, it turns out there is a warranty that there was a recall issued for this problem and an extended warranty.my dealership never told me this, and was just expecting me to pay out of pocket.also, i had my car serviced there 4 different times since the recall had been announced.they never once informed me of this.i called to ask why they hadn't mentioned this warranty or this issue, and there was not a good answer.fletcher jones also said they check my vin every time i bring it in to see if there is anything outstanding regarding recalls etc on the car, which means they could have alerted me to this multiple times when i brought the car in prior, but they did not.they could have prevented this issue.fast forward to now, audi will only cover 25% of the issue, and fletcher jones is barely making an effort to help out on their end.i will be out nearly $5,000 to repair this problem, which is no fault of mine and a catastrophic failure of engineering on the part of audi.it isn't right that audi does not fully cover this expense.and moreover, the dealership should have a duty of care to disclose them items such that we can take the steps to prevent them.fletcher jones did wrong by me by not disclosing this, and is likely defrauding and manipulating more clients every day they remain in operation.

I have been treated so badly that i will never buy another audi.the manager has terrible leadership of the dealership and my service experience was a absolute disaster. I have been a loyal customer since i purchased by q5 (never missed a service appointment and always did it at the dealership). The engine has leaked oil the entire time.3 years ago audi replaced the pistons due to a design defect (they paid for it).4 days before my regularly scheduled service appointment my engine died while driving it home from work through a residential neighborhood. I had a half-mile warning something was wrong when the engine started sputtering. If i did not have my foot on the gas, the engine would stall.when i got it into my driveway and turned it off it would not restart.after 4-5 attempts, the engine would not turnover.so i had to tow my car to the dealership for assessment.the next day they tell me engine car was worthless and that i must put in a new engine for $11,000.they said they have seen engines fail around 105,000.mine has 107,000.i asked why they did not alert me to this risk as i would have brought the car in sooner. I argued back until they reduced the price to $6,300 for new engine on a 6 year old car, and they would offer me $8,500 to trade it in on a new one. I do not have $6,300 to do invest. Besides, the engine in the q5 has had issues since i purchased it as a pre-certified vehicle in 2011. I am a single mom, and i have had to rent a car on my own for the last 2 weeks, while the service department "assessed" the engine issue. Today i finally gave up and i arranged for my q5 to be towed to a salvage yard. If audi would have worked with me on alerting me to possible engine failure issue at 105,000 miles; suggested fixing my car sooner; offering me a loaner during this process; or a better trade in value -- i would have bought another audi.

At 79,000 miles engine needs to be replaced after timing belt and tensioner failed.this is the 2nd engine for this car.timing belt destroyed pistons, rods and cylinders.warning light went on, i took it to the dealer, and it fortunately exhibited the failure at the dealership.

2011 audi q5 misfiring after oil consumption repair. Took back to service center and it was misfiring. Found pipe for the oil separator was not attached.

Audi q5.consumer writes in regards to no remedy/time frame available to repair air bag replacement recall, fuel pump cracks and engine oil leakage issues.updated 04/19/2017.

2011 audi q5 coolant pump replaced due to seepage. Water pump, bolts and o ring for plastic pipe connector piece. Found during the oil consumption repairs at 74k miles.

Engine light is constantly on. Fuel system malfunctions and very expensive ignition coil/ spark plug repairs are always the issue. The engine light comes on while the car is in motion when the fuel system malfunctions. The engine light comes on shortly after the car is turned on when it's the ignition coils/ spark plugs. When the ignition coils/ spark plugs are the issue, the car shakes.

I purchased a certified preowned audi q5 last march 2013.the vehicle was running fine.no problems or concerns.i took the vehicle to an audi dealer in february 2014 for an annual service and also in march 2014 for my yearly inspection/emissions testing.on april 2014, i had loss the vehicle due to an unknown fire that had started in the car.yes, my car was engulfed in fire!prior to this fire, i had no problems or messages on my dashboard or smelled smoke while i had drove the car. The car was running fine up until that day.i have no idea what happened to my vehicle.the insurance company had investigated this vehicle, and they stated that arson was not the blame for the fire.they r/o an electrical issue that might of been the cause of the fire.the insurance company had also researched recalls and manufacturer defects, and they claimed there were no issues.i am completely stunned about this incident.the car was parked all day, and i just can't believe out of nowhere that the car had caught on fire.i've been in contact with the dealer where i purchased the vehicle, and they are as shocked as i am about what happen.hopefully, i'll get an explanation as to why the vehicle had mysteriously caught on fire.

The contact owns a 2011 audi q5. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle jerked and would not restart. The check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the timing chain tensioner needed to be repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was 110,000. The vin was not provided.

Upon attempting to start the engine, the timing chain slipped causing pistons to hit intake valves, wrecking engine. Only 77,000 miles on vehicle. I do not qualify for class action settlement due to filing deadlines but am facing up to $14,000 in repair costs. It is unreasonable for an engine to fail catastrophically at such a low mileage adn there to be no manufacturer liability.

My wife and i had the vehicle services at audi of turnersville for $8000.00 at the service writers suggestion. We needed a new turbo with the accessories. After that the vehicle ran fine for a couple of weeks. On the beginning of the next month the vehicle started having problems again! not starting well...and stalling during operation!

The car has always had proper maintenance and care.this can be documented with audi of huntsville al.no warnings or indicator lights were present.the car was parked and about 15 minutes later a passerby came into the restaurant in which we were dining saying a gray audi was on fire.owner of restaurant tried to use handheld fire extinguisher to the front grill.no luck as it immediately melted the hood and engulfed the whole car in flames.took firemen 30 minutes to put it out.they had no idea of cause but speculated electrical as the source.

Oil leaks badly from rear main seal and timing cover.

I was driving on a busy street and the car suddenly started bucking and felt like it was going to stall.fortunately, i was able to pull over.the car would not start and had to be towed.

At about 63,000 miles my check engine light went on and i checked code and p0018 showed up.it failed emissions test subsequently for license renewal.i took in to dealership and first time they said a sensor was slightly loose and a little corrosion on.said it was fixed and meets manuf. Specifications.light came back on 2 days later.just took in and they said it was the left side timing belt and $6,100 to fix.what troubles me is that there was a recall for the same year audi but only for the 2.0.my car is apparently the only 3.2 liter having this issue.no recall?it occurred at the same moment in time, around 65,000 miles.while i was appeased slightly by them offering to fix it for parts cost..... About $3,300, and the subsequent bill was a surprising (to the good) bill of $2327.25 including the necessary oil change, i just question the fact that there is no pending recall on the audi q5 3.2 liter.and unfortunately still a suspicious cost.everything was done amicably, as time was of the essence.but still feel shorted that my 3.2 doesn't fall into this recall.

I have been driving on the highway and city and it appears the steering is sometimes stiff and then soft , i have checked the power steering fluid level and its full. This is an issue because its hard to make turns as the steering wheel stiffens up. Another issue is the car consumes about 1 quart of oil every 300 miles, it was part of a lawsuit settlement but the vehicle was never repaired

Car was sold without an oil dip-stick. The sequence of buttons to punch to bring up an oil-level readout rarely works. This is a safety defect.

Crank sensor failure and and fuel pump failure.

Receiving left headlight dipped error. Appears to be a common issue with audi across model range possibly due to design issue.

My car (2011 audi q5) engine abruptly shut down at low speed twice on the same day, once at a stop sign and second time while backing out of the garage. About 2 weeks ago, the car stopped while trying to pull out of a parking lot at speed of about 10 mph or less. Fuel tank was more than half full and battery is good too. Car is less than 3 years old with service date starting may 2011. Vagcom analysis when connecting the car obdi port to my laptop indicates fault codes 4732, 4735 among several others relating to misfiring cylinders and faults in the fuel pump circuit/electronics. A cursory search on the internet indicates several such incidents with many other car owners where the car had to be towed to the dealership service department to get it fixed. This is a dangerous situation in which car can come to stop in the middle of the road and i hope audi takes leadership in proactively solving this problem before a serious accident/injury happens to someone.

The contact owns a 2011 audi q5. The contact stated that an abnormal fuel odor was detected in the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated that the odor was so strong that the windows had to be rolled down while driving. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 89,284.

My car started to smell like gas and when i took it to the dealer the said it was the flange/ fuel pump and that the recall was already done but the same issue persist.the yet me drive home with gas pouring out of my car after seeing itand want to charge me 1800 for a recalled part. I was terribly scared and cannot drive an unsafe car.

Takata recall and fuel pump flange remedy not available in timely manner

The contact owns a 2011 audi q5. While driving 30 mph, the contact smelled a fuel odor. The contact pulled the vehicle over and shut off the engine. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle, but was unsuccessful and the check engine indicator illuminated. Also, the electric power steering warning message appeared. The vehicle was towed to the contact's home. The contact called the collection audi (200 bird rd, coral gables, fl 33146, (305) 444-5555), but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was unknown.

My q5 had over the last 4 weeks a funky gasoline smell on the interior /exterior of the vehicle while parked or driven.my concern raised when i have seen my fuel consumption going up, so i had it checked by my local mechanic. He found that the cover of the pump assembly was cracking the top part of the fuel pump canister and gasoline is sitting in the assembly.so the smell interior and exterior is coming forth cracked fuel assembly. I had no accident or impact to the car that could cost this problem and reached out to audi usa to hopefully adress this issue . In the meanwhile i'm not driving the car since it is a fire hazard and could blow up in front of me.see picture attached

I purchased vehicle july 2015 after 1 month i would smell gas fumes over time it became aggressively strong i took vehicle in for servicing where i was told they didnt find anything...1month later took it back demanded they fix it i had to contact corporate found out they had to replace fuel pump & gasket in tank...in addition, oil consumption is an issue which is still a big problem. From 10/14/15 to 7/4/2016the oil indicator asking for 1 quart. This serms to be happening 1x month. The service tech.inforned me there was a recall regarding this & my vehicle may not have been serviced for this. Im not a person who drives long distance or highway i travel to work and occassional errands nonetheless this is a nuisance not to mention the financial obligation. Why am i paying so much for a luxury vehicle that i dont enjoy.

Timing chain tensioner, tensioner etc for camshafts with engine repair. During oil consumption repair the mechanic noticed this issue and it was repaired during the oil consumption repair. 2011 audi q5 75k miles

Takata recall:when will these be available?it is extremely disconcerting driving around with a possibly faulty airbag that could kill me if deployed!also there is some recall about my fuel line?seems pretty dangerous and yet it says no remedy available.this isn't helpful.

The indoor odor of the car smelled strong of gas. The area around or under the car was completely dry. The smell was prevalent while moving or parked. The gas tank was dry at the nozzle. I drive my family in the car, including my grandchildren. I was concerned for our safety so had my local mechanic evaluate. They discovered a pin hole leak in the fuel pump under the rear seat and gas was all over the gas tank. Any spark would have set the car in flames and possible explosion given the location of the leak. This repair cost $1131. This obvious flaw should be identified by audi and a recall should be in place to replace this defective part.

The car smells to raw gas sitting in the garage.when i get in it the iside smells to raw gas also.i am not getting any warning signs.

2011 audi q5 misfiring after oil consumption repair. Took back to service center and it was misfiring. Found pipe for the oil separator was not attached.

Takata recall.. Nothing... Has happened, and i have been notified of this issue by audi.. But wanted to record that nothing has need done.there is also a fuel pump flange recall that has not been addressed.no issues at this time.

Oil leaks badly from rear main seal and timing cover.

Excessive oil leaking from undercarriage

While taking a left turn across traffic, the audi q5 3.2 transmission failed while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. The audi q5 stalled and stopped and would not continue to drive. The engine seemed to be working properly; however, the gears would not engage and the car would not drive. The audi q5 displayed an error message "gearbox malfunction; you can continue driving (limited functionality)". After repeatedly restarting the audi q5 and attempting to shift the transmission it eventually engaged the gears allowing the car to be driven out of traffic.from that point on, it displayed this message almost continuously, being the worst in the morning, also losing reverse gear.i do a lot of hwy driving and always worry if i will get killed by oncoming traffic as it has stalled on me while entering the hwy also.audi has been nothing but ignorant, pretending my car is the only one with this problem and not admitting to recalls for this problem in other countries. This is their factory problem which they quote 10k to fix, 2x cars trade in value or wholesale value.

Transmission often jerks when slowing down below 10 mph, car jerks forward

1. Q5 2.0 has a very harsh downshift whether in automatic mode or in manual/sportronic. Specially 4->3 and 3->2 and 2->1. As a result the car comes to a stop and then jerk forward after the stop (2-1), causing accidents in parking garages specially in tight spots. Audi has acknowledged the issue, applied tsb-37-13-83 software update, even replaced the mechatronic unit but the harsh jerky downshift returns. Dealer says it is not a problem but a "characteristic" of this car. Escalated to audi of america, and they confirm it is a characteristic of the vehicle and they say they cannot do anything about it.hundreds of similar complaints, some athttp://forums.audiworld.com/archive/index.php/t-2847492.html2. Car burns oil at high rate. Had oil topped off at 12k, 15k, 19k, and still at 21k it is half. Dealer changed some gaskets saying it would fix the issue but it hasn't.

Transmission shift gears very bad, while breaking, from 2 gear to 1st gear car "jumps" forward, i seen a lot of people complaining about it. Somethimes when i put in to reverse, it takes a minute until it start driving.

Unresolved engine issue. Recall that they will not fix. Unable to trade in vehicle anywhere because of the active recall. Feel trapped in an unsafe 'family' car.

Took my vehicle to the dealer for new brake pads brakes and rotors. Upon leaving the car was making a loud noise on the right side. I called the dealer to complain and was told it will wear off.ext few times i drove the brakes failed. I called audi and brought my car back and now they want me to by back brakes and calli er for both sides when the work wasn't done properly to begin with.

While driving about 45 on the highway, a light came across my dash that said 'parking brake malfunction!' moments later my 2011 audi q5 came to a complete stop causing a 3 car pile up. My car had just been serviced in june and gotten new brakes at that time as well.

At approximately 6:00 pm the evening of february 10, 2013, i was returning with my mom (front passenger) on i-66e headed back home, a vehicle in front of me stopped suddenly because a vehicle in front of her stopped for no apparent reason. I engaged my brakes and had come to a complete stop without touching the car in front of me and then the next thing i know i came in contact with her bumper. We thought initially we had been hit from behind, however, after inspecting my rear bumper there seemed to be no indication that had occurred. Even the driver in front of me acknowledged that i was at a stop before coming in contact with her bumper. What i believe occurred has to do with the audi braking system. I have raised this problem of the brakes skipping and other related issues on multiple occasions with audi's service department, audi u.s./ german corporate offices and audi "customer experience" centerand according to my maintenance logs they have performed a variety of checks including updating the software and other repairs. This vehicle has been in repeatedly to the audi dealerships prior to this incident and after this incident for brake and gear issues amongst other problems. I still continue to have similar issues of the brakes not properly engaging, a lot of creaking/groaning noises/excessive break dust from the brakes and when i place the gear shift from reverse into drive it jerks forward. Audi has been completely unhelpful and has done nothing to resolve the matters satisfactorily which i have been trying to do since shortly after the time of the incident in february.

While the vehicle is in motion, the sunroof sounds like it is not properly sealed, even though its closed.

Unresolved engine issue. Recall that they will not fix. Unable to trade in vehicle anywhere because of the active recall. Feel trapped in an unsafe 'family' car.

Takata recall," dealer is unable to make repairs because the replacement parts is not available. Fear of getting hurt. No incident yet.

Wipers do not keep windshield clear in winter snow and ice driving conditions.wipers freeze up and do not clear windshield, seriously compromising visibility and causing dangerous vehicle operation. Design is proprietary and audi do not offer winter blades to remedy this situation.please note, this is for an audi a4 quattro, not q5 as your web site only acknowledges the a3 and q5 as choices for vehicles.

Front windshield washer non-operative.dealer diagnosed as bad switch.not covered by warranty, recall or campaign.(5) months out of warranty.started as intermittent now not working at all.vehicle will not pass ma state inspection as is.

Panoramic sunroof start leaking water when rain and panoramic foam swells, foam becomes rusied and builds corrosion.

The sunroof sunshade broke while retracting and blocked rear window causing a hazard. I had to tape it up as it is now only partially attached and i am unable to remove. It is taped so i can continue driving safetly. I was driving when this happened.
