I have attempted to have the airbag recall repairs done many times over the last year, only told that they are waiting for parts at audi of rochester ny.i am concerned the i have hear nothing from them. I have not had the passenger airbag go off nor do i want to take the chance that it will.

Takata recall- no scheduled repair confirmed.

I reached out to audi when i received an email stating recalls for my car. I spoke to 2 audi reps at there call center whom both stated to me that i was wrong about the email i received and to check this site. Once i have it showed and stated the same recall that i received an email about. But once i stated that the dealer may not be aware of the scheduling of this but both reps state that the site backed by auto trader and kbb was incorrect. It bothers me to see that this company is not aware of there own defects which makes me wonder what else is extremely wrong with the car--------- also after seeing the recall my passenger light for the airbags started to flicker when no one was in the car, which lead to some other electrical problem with my car. My whole mmi interface malfunctioned to where its only a black screen

Takata recall-there is no solution for a fix from audi. They say they do not have the parts and do not know when they will get them.

Takata recall:audi sent recall notice july2016 for passenger side airbag, said do not use passenger seat, said replacement parts not availsable.also said my vehicle at highest risk since purchased and garaged in miami, florida, high heat and humidity. Six months later, january 2017, still no replacement parts available.unable to sell vehicle until defective airbag replaced.audi can not provide any estimate for when replacement parts will be available.what can nhtsa do to require audi to make immediate replacement?

Takata recall.i was notified probably 9-10 months ago that there is a recall on the drivers side airbag of my car and that i should not allow any passengers to ride in the front seat.this is extremely inconvenient. I have not been able to find any dealers that have the replacement parts available.this period of time seems pretty crazy to me as the notice said that if it deploys it could cause severe injury or death.

Can't use the passenger seat of the vehicle.this is not a valid solution.when i purchased the car, 6 years ago, it indicated front driver and passenger airbags that functioned.find a solution with audi for this problem.you can't even sell the car.

Takata recall , i received a letter for repair for my car in early 2016, but the dealer keeps saying takata has not sent the part to them, jack ingram motors montgomery, aland imafraid my car is not safe.

I received a letter from takata starting there was a problem with the airbag possible deploying/not deploying and their was not a fix at this time. It also started not to have anyone ride in front passenger set. I contacted the provided number and let them know that i have four kids and this was my only car and i felt unsafe driving the car. Therefore i asked them to provide me with another safe fixed car or i can rent one until they ackware the replacement parts to fix my vehicle and they pay for it. I was astonished that they told me that if i elect to get a rental or didn't drive my car due to the issue that it would be my desision and they are not responsible for any additional charges occurred. Also started that if i elected to drive the car with my kids it is my desision. When i noted this was my only vehicle and means of transportation they acted as oh well. Therefore i need your help and support immediately because i am fearful for my kids safety and wellbeing in my car. Again only means of transportation.

Takata inflator not replaced although i asked for replacement over 1 year ago

During a recent rain storm i went to start the car to discover 6 inches of water in the back seat. Rear airbag and some electrical system had been fried. When i contacted audi they said that it was not a warranty issue that it was my fault. That a line under the battery compartment had been clogged by pine needles causing the water to flow into the car through the airconditioning system.it seems to me that this is a design flaw and should be covered by audi.

Takata recallaudi states "recommends avoiding the use of the front passenger sear whenever possible until the recall repair has been performed.". Are they going to provider a loaner vehicle until this repair is performed? this vehicle is used by my family daily and someone in the front passenger seat cannot be avoided. This is absurd and a vehicle should be provided.

2005 audi a6 has water damage. Some how over night heavy rain seepage left an inch of water behind driver seat. Car was parked in driveway. All windows and doors where closed. This has caused $10,000.00 electrical damage to modules located under front passenger seat. These modules alert me about esp/abs and park brake as well as a module that powers the vehicles mmi/navigation and stereo system. None of these function any longer.insurance company wants to totaled the vehicle,i spent $7000.00 already on repairing the vehicle. Don't know where the water entered my vehicle. Is audi responsible? this appears to be a design flaw.

Takata recall received a post card in the mail back on 5/27/2016 about my air bag on the passenger side being defective and that there is no fix.my light popped on way before i received the post card and the only thing they can say is try not to have anyone riding in the front seat, that is not right, this is the family vehicle for going to work and taking my teenage son and daughter around to school, activities and doctors appointments. How much longer will we have to wait for a fix, this is a dangerous situation everyday driving around and i live in wisconsin.

The recall notice for this defect was issued in july 2016.there is still no remedy and the defect has been described to put anyone in the passenger seat at risk of injury from metal shards if the airbag were to deploy.the excessive delay in providing a fix is unsatisfactory and should be unacceptable.

Takata recall -dangerous passenger airbag recall for over 1 year and no replacement or remedy offered.

Audi of america sent me a flyer (attached) offering $100 in audi goods and services as an incentive to complete the replacement of a takata airbag recall. Since may 2nd, now almost 5 months later, audi has still failed to provide the offered incentive despite me contacting them and their promise it would be resolved.as this recall is under nhtsa jurisdiction i thought you would have interest in their behavior in regards to this serious matter.

"takata recalli have beengetting the round around on replacement of the inflator for the past year.one excuse after another.

"takata recall" it's been over 1 year since i received my recall notice on the passenger airbag for my 2005 audi a6. I've been told audi doesn't have a replacement part available yet. If the recall is correct my car isn't safe for a passenger and i see no help from audi.

Takata recall: why do i have a letter from audi and a notice from tk holdings inc.stating my vehicle is subject to a recall, yet when i register the car it comes up as not in the database. I tested your database as well and it does not come up. On paper the car is subject to the recall but not online. Thanks

2005 audi a6 air bags are too short and can not protect passenger. Consumer was taking to the hospital for x-rays.the consumer stated the air bag only protected the top six inches of the window and as a result, her head hit the front passenger door window during the accident.

Takata recall. Car was domiciled in ny from 2005-2007, florida 2007-2012 and california 2012-present. Issue is the airbag recall on this car needs to be prioritized faster based on the 5 years in hot humid florida and 2 years in ny vs ca. Since i now live in ca the audi rusnak thousand oaks advised it has a lower priority then florida.request the takata airbag replacement parts be shipped sooner for my car to complete repairs based on the years in florida.

Months ago i received a postcard telling me that my audi was on the recall list for the takata recall but that no replacements parts were available.ever since then, i have not been able to use my car's front seat and i live in fear that the bag could go off. Why do i have to risk my life, and my son's life, with no end in sight? i am not wealthy.i have to continue to use this car. Why is there no resolution? will there ever be any, short of a worst case scenario?

Takata recalli have contacted audi twice, they have told me they had to order the part and once they receive the part they would call me to set an appointment to repair the airbag. I have been waiting about 6 months (maybe longer). I have not heard back from them. After waiting a few months i decided to also fill out the form on the audi website regarding the takata recall on may 15, 2018 and still have not received a response.

My sunroof will not retract..

Very common problem - "ignition module defective" code at 190,000 miles.temporary repair of the issue with dtc reset.full logging of car data via obd-ii port reveals zero faults while car is running, and diagnostic traffic on the can bus at startup show zero faults.once key is inserted in dash and turned to "accessory", module faults out without any traffic sent/received.happens intermittently and dealership states this is a known problem.dealership-only repair, per multiple audi service technicians, audi of america refuses to comply with massachusetts right to repair law by making available to independent repair shops, the necessary tools and equipment to access the immobilizer hardware.dealer estimates/quotes range from $2100-$3700 to replace entire steering column with the attached and separable ignition module (accessible via 2 screws and 1 rivet).dealerships refuse to replace/re-code only the ignition module, stating the entire steering column needs replaced.multiple reports of the same issue with other c6 body audi a6 owners confirm the same details.nothing is physically wrong with the ignition switch or module, and clearing diagnostic trouble codes allow the vehicle to start immediately.suspect planned obsolescence of the part in question.

I was driving my car in my work parking lot when a loud beep occurred and my car issued a warning for "parking break malfunction." two lights, esc and abs also lit up when the beep sounded. I immediately stopped driving, engaged the parking brake (which worked) and disengaged it. I am the second owner of the car and after some research found that the brake module and mmi both had been upgraded by the previous owner. I continued to witness these symptoms and am waiting for my dealership to run a diagnostic. I have read enough consumer complaints about this specific problem to know that audi should take a deeper look into it.

The left drivers side break light/signal will stop working intermittently. I have noticed that it tends weather dependent. I have read audi forums whom have said that the electrical wiring when exposed to heat (70 degrees fahrenheit and above) will short causing the led break/signal light to not work. My mechanic stated that it is also because of a faulty "light control module + wiring." due to the intermittency and high cost of the job it has not been something that i have been able to fix. I am afraid that eventually none of the tail lights will work or even after repairing it, the same issue will arise. I first noticed this in may of 2015, however it was fine through the fall and winter. I again noticed it randomly through the summer months (june-aug).

My 2005 audi a6 has water damage. Some how over night heavy rain seepage left an inch of water behind driver seat. Car was parked in driveway at a slightincline. All windows and doors where closed.this has caused $2,700electrical damage to modules located under front passenger seat. These modules alert me about esp/abs and park brake as well as a module that powers the vehicles mmi/navigation and stereo system. None of these function anylonger.i don't know where thewater entered my vehicle. Is audi responsible? this appears to be a design flaw.

I purchased a 2005 audi a6 3.2 quattro in august of 2008 with 37,000 miles.in december 2008 i took the car to the audi dealer in pasadena because the left rear taillight, left rear reversing light, and left rear fog light were shorting out off and on. Sometimes they would work, sometimes they wouldn't.the dealer said the connectors to that left tail lamp assembly were melted and it was fixed under warranty.the following summer, 2009, i took the car back to the dealer this time in santa monica, ca for the same problem and an oil change where once again they said the connectors to the left rear tail lamp, reversing light, and fog light were melted.i refused to pay and took car to an independent shop for a diagnosis. They said the vehicle has an electrical short and couldn't fix it.a week or two later, the lights were working again.that was summer/fall 2009.by april 2010, the lights stopped working again.i took the car into another audi dealer this time in downtown, la.they diagnosed the problem saying the electrical system is sending too much electrical current to that side of the car and is causing the wiring to burn at the connection point to the tail lamp assembly.i refuse to pay for service that was already repaired i said just 15 months ago and asked why this is only happening to that side of the vehicle.they told me i would have to pay 385.00 to fix it.i then took the car to another independent shop this week and they refused to fix the car because there are burn points in the trunk where the wiring is faulty and that audi should fix the electrical system in the vehicle as it will just keep happening over and over again.i've also had problems with the window switches not working on the left side of the vehicle, and the lights shorting out in the center console. This is not only a big nuisance but i am worried that this could catch fire.please help in this situation, thank you so much for your time.

My car was running perfectly, next time i went to drive it, it wouldn't start. The wheels and shifter are locked up .the lightsand bells work, but it turns out that the module that recognizes the key has failed. I have been on just about every audi forum to investigate this, and this is an incredibly common complaint. The part that is broke cannot be fixed, rather the entire steering column has to be replaced at a cost of at least $2000, in some cases over $3000. This is an obvious design defect and audi needs to be held responsible. Paying thousands of dollars for a module that fails to recognize a key is beyond ridiculous. There were no warning lights whatsoever to indicate that this part was failing. Luckily it is currently stuck in my driveway.it could have left me stranded anywhere.

Audi 2005 a6 started to have intermittent warning for abs, stability, hand brake at ~55k miles.took car to dealer to diagnose it .dealer called with an estimate of $2800 to replace abs module.he also provided an estimate of $1100 for another error code for airbag to replace the center rear seat belt.i'm not understanding why these warning codes come so randomly and clear so randomly.not sure why an audi a6 will need such repairs that clearly point to flaws in design and unreliable parts after only 55k miles.there are tons for online complaints from audi drivers that use the bosch 8.0 abs module.audi should either recall this part or offer to pay for the repairs.when i complained to audi usa, basically they asked if i was first owner and if i take it to dealer for maintenance.the answers for both is no.i'm the 2nd driver.bought the car with only 20k miles and since relocating to houston, i take the car to a local garage for oil change.i'm looking for safecar.gov to rectify the issue with audi.audi doesn't even sell the abs module part alone.you will have to buy the brake pump as well.

On our 2005 audi a6 we purchased certified pre-owned (cpo) we are the second owners of the vehicle. When we purchased this a6 it had only 30,330 miles. When we got to around 90k+ miles is when we started to have some issues with the cars braking system. We took it to audi which is the only place we have had it serviced and where we purchased the vehicle. They said there was a problem with the brake module causing the blinking brake light and the abs light to come on along with a loud beeping from time to time. They thought it could also be low on brake fluid and capped it off. The problem went away for a while but then came back along with the check engine light.this time it was said we have a fault ecu module. We had this service done which costs $2,200.usd but this was just to repair the check engine light but not the brake module. We asked if this repair would resolve both issues and the answer was yes. There are thousands of complaints about the bosch brake module which seems to be an ongoing problem with audi.this needs to be recalled and everyone get their money refunded to them for the pain and anguish this has caused. There also needs to be a class action lawsuit against audi!!

We have a 2005 audi a6 purchased cpo in 06. We recently had issues with brake module issues that are still there but waiting on the recall for this issue. Now we have an issue with our mmi system which is the entertainment part of the car. It controls the music, navigation, and some convenience features. I have seen a lot of audi owners with this mmi problem as well. There seems to be a trend with audi vehicles now. I would think when you make a luxury purchase such as this you would not have these kinds of issues. Certainly if you are not abusing the car in any way. This also needs to be a part of a recall. The first indication was i could not reset the battery after the replacement which was not done by audi. Then i took it to them to reset the battery level and recode the mmi and audi could not do it? there is an issue here....

Having all the same issues with the steering column listed below, why has this issue not been made a recall issue????there is an entire page of this problem at the following audi forums.com linkhttp://www.audiforums.com/forum/audi-a6-9/2005-audi-a6-wont-start-but-mmi-lights-seat-memory-etc-works-finefacebook-twitter-163846/note: the issues listed in service bulletin no: tsb-48-14-62nhtsa id number: 10056441complaint filed 10/29/2014 nhtsa id number: 10651089 andcomplaint filed 04/27/2012 nhtsa id number: 10456711.why hasn't this problem with the steering column become a recall item?when is this problem with the steering column going to become a recall item?

Ignition key cannot be removed from the ignition.car must be left unlocked with key in ignition, leading to possible theft and/or operation by children or others.audi service department advises that circuit board is defective and charges more than $2500 but does not carry parts in stock - nalley audi, roswell, ga.

Start access control unit (j518) malfunction. Car will not start. Audi dealer claims that whole steering column must be replaced. Quote $2,400.

Driving 55 mph on the express way and the engine shut off completely. The car stalled until it came to a complete stop. The esp light and engine light came on. Restarted the car and problem continue 4 times.after the 4th attempt, i managed to get the car to the side of the road. After waiting several minutes, i restarted the car. The car still feel at times as if its going to stall.

Car stuttering. Depresses throttle to attempt to alleviate problem. Gas pedal stuck at full acceleration and maximum rpm. Set car into neutral and coasted to decelerate. After numerous attempts to disengage accelerator pedal, it finally sprung back from full throttle.

Engineering flaw lead to extraordinary expense replacing the entire steering column instead of just the module that failed. Timing chain broke while driving home parked car immediately.

After thirty minutes, ac vent on passenger side starts blowing very hot air. Ten minutes later the ac vent on driver's side does the same. A short while later the two center vents blow hot air. The next day is all starts over. Audi sent out a technical bulletin tb 2013883/1 doing a mea culpa stating it was their fault. When they manufactured it they got metal shavings from the engine into the ac pump. But they are not willing to fix it. I have an estimate for $1300.

On 1/25/2007 car was cold in garage.would not start on first or second attempts.on third attempt the car turned over but the epc light illuminated and the entire vehicle was heavily shaking and rocking back and forth.no power to drive the vehicle.had it towed to the dealership (schaumburg audi).dealer said the computer recorded multiple cylinder misfires but that there was nothing else they could find wrong.car was kept overnight and returned to me when no further problems could be found and the event could not be replicated.nothing was actually repaired and no parts replaced.

My sunroof will not retract..

I currently own a 2005 audi a6 which has a failure of the rear tail lights. Both the driver's and passenger's side rear tail lights fail to illuminate when the vehicle was turned on. There is no brake light, turn light indicator, or hazard lights that is operable. At first it was thought that the bulbs needed to be replaced. However, while replacing the bulb i noticed that the circuit board showed signs of a burnout. It is well known that audi has had a problem with voltage problems with the tail lights. Without tail lights, indicator lights or hazard lights there is a serious chance that an accident could occur. Currently there is no recall for this failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000. Ah

I started my car and noticed a headlight dipped warning light i google this and noticed that thousands of others have the same issue.

1) no events leading up to failure.2) the electronic trunk latch fails intermittently.about 90% of the time the trunk will not latch, meaning the car is unsecurable and the trunk lid will fly open while driving even on minor bumps in the road.this is a very dangerous safety issue, as not only can i not secure my car or us the trunk, but when the lid flies open it impairs rearward visibility, blocks the third brake light for drivers behind me, and due to unsecurable items puts drivers behind me at riskof accident.3) took the car to stammler imports (audi dealer) in boulder co.they stated "this is a huge problem on all of the current audi models and the parts are on backorder from germany."they are unable to tell me even an approximate timeframe of when the car might be repaired.they are unable to provide a temporary fix to improve the safety issues.they refused to provide a loaner car that i can safely use until this issue is resolved. It has now been almost 2 months since i first brought the car to the dealer to fix the issue which remains unresolved.the dealer's current solution remains that i drive around with this trunk safety issue indefinitely. I also called audi america customer relations at 800-822-2834 to help resolve the issue and spoke to a representative named brandon.i informed him of the ongoing trunk safety issue with my vehicle and expressed how it also represents a huge liability for audi if there were to be an accident as a result of this issue.he states at this time he is unable to do anything other than call the dealer and ask for more information.he states he is unable to authorize the dealer provide a loaner car until this issue is resolved.he states audi america is unable to pay for a rental car until this issue is resolved.he states he is "in a difficult situation as audi america does not have much leverage with its dealers" and is unable to offer any resolution of the problem at this time.

1. Certified preowned car (certified at 30k miles) under normal usage (20k miles in 18 months). No special events leading to the failure.2. Electronic parking brake cannot be released. Car is disabled and cannot be driven. Occurred 2 times. Corroded electronic parking brake wires and connectors.3. Electronic parking brake wire harnesses and connectors were replaced.

The contact owns a 2005 audi a6. The contact stated that the light for the parking brake would not shut off. The brake lights did not come on immediately after the vehicle was turned on; however, they illuminate after driving the vehicle over a period of time and remain illuminated while the vehicle was in motion. The contact stated that the parking brake was always used whenever the vehicle was driven. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer. The failure and current mileages were 58000.

Electronic parking brake malfunction light is on...turns out the wiring is corroded inside the switch.i'm the only owner of the car and there was no water damage or liquid spilled.

Car stopped in parking lot and would not move, turn on, shift gears or anything.

After shopping, i was driving my sister back to her house, pull into the driveway, put the car into park, (hear it click ) engine still running, started to unload the packages, when the car started moving forward, wheni got into the front seat,i place my hand on the transmission stick, to make sure it was still locked, and at that point the front of the car, raised up, and accelerated, hitting a tree in front of the house, if it wasn't for that tree, the car would have hit the house.call audi the next day, during the next week, audi technical field manager, looked over the car, and found it to be operating as designed and intended, as per letter dated oct. 5, 2006 from audi executive office.for the record, audi of smithtown service reps. Went above and beyond to help me with this problem, and by no means does this reflex the dealership.this problem needs to be address and corrected before someone gets serious hurt..

On 6/25/05 i purchased a new 2005 audi a6 3.2 sedan from audi of oakland ca and have recently become aware of a potential hazard. Audi national customer service states that the condition of my concern is common to all audi a6 vehicles with automatic transmissions. Depending on the particular driving conditions and without warning the vehicle can temporarily fail to respond to pressure on the accelerator pedal. This usually occurs after a sharp deceleration followed by an attempt to resume speed that calls for a change of gearing. When this condition occurs there is an approximate one to two second delay when there is no engine power. After the delay the engine will lurch in to power upon finding a lower gear. The problem came to my notice when i attempted to move quickly out of an intersection with traffic bearing down from the side. It was a frightening experience as for that brief period there was no engine power and i thought that the oncoming vehicle would hit me. I have discussed this potential hazard with the dealer and with audi national customer service. Their reply was that the response delay is ''normal operation for the vehicle'' and further that audi does not consider a need to remedy this design defect. Since then i have tested a number of other vehicles in the same class made by other auto manufacturers and none of them have this defect. I ask that you investigate this problem and that you use your authority to make audi fix this defect and issue a recall. Thank you for your consideration and assistance.

Air bag light is on - audi stated the rear left seat belt assembly has to be replaced.i've been complaining about a ticking sound coming from this for the past 2 years and they said nothing was wrong.now there are saying the same belt's locking mechanism is defective and needs to be replaced when it is 'out of warranty" .

I owneda 2005 preowned certificed audi a6 and the driver and the passenger retractor seatb elts never worked, itw stuck in the closed position and it' was hard to pull out.

Electromechanic parking brake broke 6 times in 4 years. A few times the brake won't disengage, having to literally drag the car on a platform to be able to take it to the dealer. Since the first event i've never used the parking brake on purpose (the car is automatic) to avoid another malfunction but it would still break every few months. It's either the motors or wiring or both. It never happened to me while driving but dealer warned me that it could. The reason i'm filing the complaint is that it is not an isolated case. A quick google search "audi parking brake malfunction" will prove that the problem is widespread and it makes me think that theyshould have issued a recall but they didn't.

On 2 separate occasions i had to pay for a parking brake module or motor.the cost was 900.00 both times. I google this and found more complaints about this same issue.

Electronic parking brake malfunction light is on...turns out the wiring is corroded inside the switch.i'm the only owner of the car and there was no water damage or liquid spilled.

My abs light, parking brake failure, and esp lights all came on at the same time while driving my 2005 audi a6 4.2 s-line model through a sudden snow storm in colorado.my abs immediately failed and my brakes locked, causing me to lose control of my vehicle, and fortunately i avoided a crash (i was at low speeds).the quattro all wheel drive was also disabled at this time and i was unable to gain traction on the icy road.this could have been a devastating crash resulting in injuries if i had been going the speed limit that night.i immediately took my car in for service on 12/2/09 and was told i needed to have the abs module replaced at a cost of around $1600.why was this not a recalled part?according to the service tech at stammler audi in boulder, co it is a very common problem with the 2005 model year because it is the first year to have some new technology involved in the vehicle's driving systems.i am extremely upset that there is nothing i can do but pay out of pocket for a defective part, that audi also agrees with, just to drive safely on the roadways.

Dt*:the contact stated while driving 85 mph the antilock brakes were applied and there was a considerable delay before the vehicle reached a complete stop.this occurred during normal braking and on a dry road.the vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection.the dealership could not duplicate the problem.the manufacturer was notified.

Car stopped in parking lot and would not move, turn on, shift gears or anything.

Transponder in steering column failed disabling the ignition and locks steering wheel. My car was stationary each time this happened. My fear is that this could possibly happen on the highway .

Engineering flaw lead to extraordinary expense replacing the entire steering column instead of just the module that failed. Doing some reviews on-line - seems to be a well known and common problem but audi does not want to do anything about it - http://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-s6-c6-platform-discussion-58/transponder-steering-column-2834070/millage listed as approx since car is in the shop now.

Vehicle wouldn't start after parking at a store parking lot. Steering column was locked no power to anything only mmi had power transmission was locked on parking position and electronic brake sistem was activated looking up online i found that there's to many customers with same problem they all stated that the problem was the start control module.

I have a 2005 audi a6 i drove the car for 2 weeks went out to start the car and it would not start the wheel was locked gear shifter locked.i had the car towed to audi of south burlington.i told them i believed it was a issue with the access start control unit as i had read it many times over from others who had experienced the same issue. They told me it was the ignition switch replaced it to the tune of $881.00 and sent me on my way.luckily enough i was not stuck with a no starting car in an emergency or unsafe situation.3 weeks to the day same issue.back at the dealer guess what it's the access start control unit.when is someone going to hold audi accountable for this common problem?this could pose a serious safety issue for the consumer stuck with a completely non functioning car because it happens just like a light switch with no warning!!let me illustrate this for you...you're out in a snow storm, you have your children with you, you have no cell service....ok you pull over or shut your car off for any reason, although it has been starting back up this time it doesn't.this isn't a safety issue when they find your frost bitten dead bodies the next day?crazy it could all be fixed if audi would stop concealing problems to their consumers and just make a recall.updated 09/08/15*ljupdated 10/26/2017

Key not working. Can't start car at all or put in neutral. Key is not recognized by car. Some problem with the controller in a steering column. Dealer wants $2000+ to replace and fix. Many people online have reported the same problem. Audi should pay and not the consumer.

My audi a6 stayed overnight in the rain. In the morning the driver's footwell was full with 2 inches of water. Audi recognized that sunroofs have a drain line that is installed with a kink to limit noise going back into the car. The problem is the kink prevents debris from evacuating correctly.

My sunroof will not retract..

On the night in question, the vehicle spontaneously went into 'full throttle mode'. The car raced ahead and was brought to a stop only with extremely heavy application of the brake pedal. While stopped and the automatic transmission in drive, the engine pulled strongly at nearly 3000 rpm. I shifted the car into park and the engine instantly raced to redline (7500 rpm). I depressed the 'engine stop' button and the car would not shut off.this, needless to say, scattered any nearby pedestrians---thankfully. I moved the shifter to 'neutral' and the engine still raced at redline. I was only able to end this by frisking myself for the physical key and inserting it into the ignition and finally shutting the car off.my next step was to call audi's roadside assistance and have the car towed to the dealership. It is nearly brand new and describe to them the incident that occurred that friday night. They kept the car for nearly a week and informed that they were unable to determine the cause of the malfunction and having tested it, the car was operating properly, and that i was welcome to come and take possession of it again.i can only conclude that they either have no respect for the safety of the people that drive their cars after purchase..... Or they think that i made it up.neither of these is an acceptable position.my only request was that they return to me the car only after absolutely ascertaining the cause of the full-throttle condition and repairing it.they were unable to do so and now feel perfectly comfortable putting my family back in it. This vehicle should not be on the road without a 100% conclusive diagnosis and repair---- if ever.

Car stuttering. Depresses throttle to attempt to alleviate problem. Gas pedal stuck at full acceleration and maximum rpm. Set car into neutral and coasted to decelerate. After numerous attempts to disengage accelerator pedal, it finally sprung back from full throttle.

I drove my audi a6 from the train station carpark on to the interstate ramp and accelerated on to the highway.the accelerator pedal stuck to the floor and could not be prised up with my foot.i applied the brake but the engine continued to rev at full throttle.i was in busy traffic and could not move over to the hard shoulder so had to swerve in and out of traffic trying to avoid collision.i continued to pick up speed, while pumping the brakes and eventually cut through the traffic to the hard shoulder where i pumped the brakes until the car eventually stopped.at one point the car was doing well north of 100 mph and cars were tooting their horns as i swerved in and out of traffic.i am lucky not to have crashed the car and killed myself or other motorists.after the car came to a halt, i turned off the engine and checked the accelerator pedal to ensure nothing was jamming the arm of the pedal, which was not the case.the accelerator pedal had released.i continued to drive on the back roads at a very slow pace of about 20 mph and the issue did not repeat itself.i called audi to tow the car for inspection.they mentioned that this issue had never happened before but would investigate.after surveying, they could not find any issues and decided to bring another investigator to the dealership.the findings were that nothing was wrong with the car.this whole incident is extremely disturbing and could have resulted in death.the dealership asked me to return my loaner car and pick up my vehicle due to their findings.i will not accept return of this vehicle and am awaiting some a call from corporate headquarters to discuss.i will also not accept them redistributing this vehicle to another owner as i do not want someone to have the same experience as me.i am writing to you as i am concerned that this design defect will result in a serious if not fatal accident and would like the issue to be investigated further.

During driving epc light illuminates, rpms soar and car will not accelerate.severe safety issue.this has occurred more than 4 times in 13 months--car was purchased brand new 13 months ago.vehicle had to be towed to dealership for repairs three times.two separate dealerships have "repaired" the car and returned it to me--the problem continues to occur.the most recent failures occurred within 2 weeks of each other.the car has in no way ever been repaired. Computer was re-set, and updated.physical parts replaced as per dealer invoice throttle valve, gasket.vehicle is defective and unsafe to drive and is currently at the dealership for repair.

The vehicle is equipped with dual zone automatic climate control.the center i.p. Vents blow cold air while all other vents blow very hot air.this occurs almost any time the air conditioner is used.dealership was told, did not attempt to fix.audi released a tsb in 12/08 detailing the cause to be debris left in the engine block during production.audi refuses to provide assistance to correct the problem.

Water inside car. According to dealer, sun roof drainswere clogged. Apparently many owner'swere having the same problems. This wasnot limited to audi, but all volkswagenproducts.

In order to wash the windshield of my 2005 audi a6, i need to lift the wipers off the glass but, on the a6, you cannot lift the wipers because they set below the hood line. The hood blocks my lifting them. Audi provides a "service position" for the windshield wipers which moves them a few inches allowing me to lift them off the windshield so i can clean the glass. In order to access the "service position" for the wipers, i am required to move the ignition key to "on." i turned the ignition on, chose the "service position" for the wipers, headed out of the car and lifted the wipers off the window. The wipers were now several inches away from the windshield, out in space, allowing me to wipe the glass easily. When i applied my windex, the automatic sensor that starts the wipers if it senses rain, noted the liquid on the windshield and began to move the wipers back and forth even though they were sticking up and away from the windshield. The movement brought them towards my head and i just moved my head in time not to be struck in the eye by the wipers. Since the car requires that i turn the ignition on to access the windshield wipers "service position," the choice of "service position" should automatically turn off the automatic rain sensor so the wipers can be handled safely.updated 01-16-08.
