While driving in very cold snowy weather my airbag light flashed then stayed on. This occurred 3 times during the winter months and has not reoccurred during warmer months. After turning off the car the light went off. According to the drivers manual the airbags will not deploy with light on. According to odi 756137 with same symptoms indicates no airbag will function even with airbag light out after the intermittent light flashing. I took it to the dealer 2 times, but could not determine problem and would not replace anything. Dealer told me unless there is a solid failure or they can duplicate it they could not fix it. Car is still under warranty and feel like i have been getting run around. Called audi customer service (ref# 40192796), but have not heard anything.
While driving at 30 mph consumer's vehicle t-boned another vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy.
I was driving about 67 on the open highway and was struck from behind by another vehicle. I lost control of my car and careened into a guard rail. I went unconscious and when i woke i was badly injured. All the air bags in car had deployed except for the driver's airbag. As a consequence, i sustained severe damages to my ribs and neck. I am lucky to be alive.
Follow-up info to odi number: 756137 - i have learned that the part required to fix this defect is on nationwide backorder - this suggest the problem is widespread - the car will not be released to the owner until the repair is made suggesting that the mfr understands the severity of this issue - this is a basic safety component of the vehicle and vehciles are apparently shipping with the airbag inoperative!!! no safety defect.
The air bagsdid not deploy when the vehicle was hit at 40 mph resulting in injuries to the consumer. Thedealer was notified.*mr*jg*nlm
Air bag light on
Rear passenger airbag deployed without warning and without a crash.
Since purchased, air bag light has intermittenly flashed indicating an air bag related problem - dealer indicates air bag controller must be replaced and that air bag has been non-fiunctional all this time (since purchase) - airbag controller part is not stocked at dealer and requires 7 days to obtain - this should be a recall item as then parts would be available when car is returned for service - as it is, car cannot be driven (no airbag) so must be left at dealer - service tech mentioned that they have seen this problem on other audi's suggesting this could be widespread and very dangerous as occupant has no idea airbag is not functional.
The contact owns a 2001 audi a6. While driving 55 mph, the driver side air bag deployed without warning. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained injuries to the left side of the body, including minor hearing loss in the left ear. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the control module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Whiledrivingair bags deployed prematurely.consumer did not hit anything in the street.consumersustaine d some injuries toarm and left hand.
Front crash at 25-30 mph, neither airbag deployed. Damage to vehicle $ 14000.
The consumer was going about 50 mph when she was involved in an accident.vehicle a pulled in front of vehicle b and stopped short, forcing vehicle b to rear end vehicle a. In the process, the air bags failed to deploy. Owner contacted the manufacturer and was told that the vehicle was not hit at the right angle to activate the air bags.the emergency lights flashed intermittently and the next day the vehicle would not start, the power unit beneath the floor board was soaking wet and had shorted out, the console under the gear shift was so hot that it could not be touched, there was an oil leak. *sc
Consumer stated via e-mail i fumani shisana while driving on june 3 2004hit a patch of water in the road.vehicle started sliding from side to side uncontrollably. Tried to regain control of the vehicle andit slid off the road onto the grass on driver's side.consumer removed safety belt and jumped out of the front passenger's door. Upon impact, none of the air bags deployed.while reaching into the vehicle to retrieve cellular phone consumer noticed flames emerging from the front passenger side indicator light. Then, vehicle was engulfed in flames. Consumer narrowly escaped with his life. Reported incident to the police and volkswagen audi. Volkswagen audi seemed to act quit slowly on taking action to rectify the situation.
While driving 50 mph in a rain storm vehicle swerved and lost control, causing it tocrashhead on into a wall. Upon impact, none of the six air bags deployed. Two weeks later, consumer received a recall notice for the air bag electrical system. Driver sustained neck and back injuries.
The air bag light was on couple of months and i checked with local repair shop. They told me the computer says the side driver's airbag has a problem and it won't deploy when i have an accident. I didn't fix it at that time. After 6 or 8 months, i was driving and stopped on signal. All of sudden, the side air bag deployed without any impact. I got injured from the air bag on my left arm. After that, i could see some smoke coming out of the cabin and smells something is burning. Right now, the car is in audi dealer to be investigated.

2001 audi a6.left headlight assembly wires shorted against frame and ignited a fire.car was parked and off.headlight switch in off position.car was inspected for electrical leaks the week prior.
Center display lcd panel in instrument cluster fades out particularly in warm weather and the information it provides cannot be read.since some of the information shown in this display is important for safe operation of vehicle the failure of the display to be adequately legible is a safety hazard.
I have a 2001 audi a6 quattro 2.8l with p1411 and p1423 dtc codes. I am hearing it is a vacuum hose or combi value problems from what i am reading, common to this model, but i have had several mechanics look at it and not want to tackle it.in a recent forum i was told many of the items i have listed were recall items-including vacuum hoses.yes, many were, there was even a law suit with audi, that audi denied my claim and paid several on.i appealed and they did not respond and did not define why they refused to cover it.audi still has yet to cover the vehicle in the professional manner i expected.my life burdens are enough, i do not need a car manufacturer or dealer to yank me around, the vehicle now has 205,000 miles, because i paid outrageous car repairs on it.i feel audi is a good car, but fixing things on it that should be covered under recalls and service warranties is not happening.do i really have to sue to get results, this is ridiculous!i have experienced check engine light, failed emissions testing, headlight problems, issues with water in lenses and mirrors, turn signal issues, i have had problems with my fuel line, replaced tie rods, and abs brake light signals after brake repair.i am hoping nhtsa can shed some light and assist me with rectifying my car situation possibly.i have been dealing with these issues for many years now and i am hopeful to receive some relief.
Dt:the consumer's car caught on fire.prior to the fire there was an electrical system recall (04v1233000) which could result in a fire, this recall was complete prior to the fire.while driving the car it started to smoke heavily and smoke came through the vents. The consumer saw fire in the vents on the drivers side.the consumer pulled of the road and stopped the car and call 911.there were no warning lights or prior warning to this fire.insurance company is investigating and do not have the report. Coolant bottle leaked, third brake light bulb blew out.
I own a 2001 audi a6 quattro. The driver information system has faded to a point n which it is no longer readable. Since all of the diagnostic information if displayed through this system i am afraid damage to my vehicle may occur.
Consumer has hadvalve cover replaced 3 times on the 2001 a-6.the right side camshaft tensioner seals were replaced.the valve cover gasket was replaced.the pcv hose assembly broke and had to be replaced.the consumer request reimbursement due to the inadequate service received.the battery in the vehicle died twice.
The alternator bracket broke at 60 miles per hour with resulting loss of vbelt mechanism and power steering.this occurred on a straight road.the resulting steering difficulty on a curved road would have resulted in a crash even at 30 miles per hour..
When applying brakes there is a low screeching noise, this is when vehicle is in a stopping position, and going at low speed, contact dealer and had no response.accelerator pedal needs to be pushed down between one and two inches to get any response, extreme pressure needed when using horn.
Consumer stated the transmission is inoperative, when putting vehicle in drive it will move 15 - 20 feet then it will stop for about 4 seconds, then vehicle will accelerate, vehicle was taken into dealer, the vehicle is not consistent in selecting the starting gear, sometimes starting fast at other times, slow, the speedometer is not visible in direct sunlight, even with sunshdes on, consumer also stated the vehicle stalls.*jg
Substantial and prolonged rain flooded the cowling (holding reservoir of 4 gallons )located below the windshield of my audi a6 2001 wagon. The drain atthe bottom of the cowling had become clogged from bits of leaves, etc over the years.the cowling has no overflow drain and when the drain hole is clogged the water floods into the air vent and proceeds into the floor of the vehicle. The floor was flooded with 2 to 3 inches of water which proceed to damage the electronic control box for the entire car and the electronic "harness" which connects the control box to all of the devices located throughout the car. There were more than 12 cars in this one dealership suffering from this water damage issue.audi has know of this problem for many years, but has failed to provide a recall and install an overflow hole higher up on the cowling to provide emergency relief.repair bill was $3,500.installation of an overflow hole would be an easy solution.flooding shuts down entire electrical system and disables car.
Vehicle was full of smoke while getting into it while it was parked in the driveway all night. Consumer noticed black smoke film on the passenger's side rear window. Also, consumer opened the trunk and found it full of smoke. Consumer called the fire department. The fire marshall inspected the vehicle and believed that the fire was caused by an electrical short in the wiring harness.

The contact owns a 2001 audi a6. The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned on, there was a clicking noise emerging from the center of the dashboard. All the warning indicators illuminated and smoke started to emerge from the vents. The vehicle was turned off and evacuated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The diagnosis was that an electrical fire occurred that originated at the wiring harness. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact also stated that the vehicle was repaired under nhtsa campaign number: 04v133000 (electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
Failing instrument cluster display.
The abs module in audi's 1998-2001 is a common problem. One day it was fine and the next the abs light and brake light came on the dash and went away after some driving.at first the abs light would come and go. But as a week passed from the 1st day of the indecent it started to appear moreoften and longer. After 2 weeks the abs light and brake light stayed on.
Abs/esp light would come on after driving for 60 minutes or more, usually went off if vehicle restarted, this became more frequent over course of 10 months until light stayed on all the time, wheel sensors had to be changed at significant cost to fix problem.

Driving westbound on i20 from columbia, sc to st robert/fort leonard wood, mo when engine suddenly lost power. Limped about 3/4 mi to next exit and called for a tow truck. Transported vehicle back to nearest audi dealer (45 mi east) in columbia, sc. Audi of columbia did diagnostic and after $2527.00 determined that the exhaust camshaft on bank 1 broke in the center. The service department manager stated he has never seen or heard of that happening in all his years with audi. I believe that this is a material defect and i should not be charged for the replacement of the engine (service managers recommendation).
2001 audi a6 with all routine maintenance had check engine light on and was told it was nothing to worry about. A few weeks later the engine basically melted with out any warning. Dealer says the radiator was fine and the was no oil leak. All wires are melted onto the engine and the engine is ruined. Suspect electrical problem.only 2 years old but off warranty.dealer offers nothing and audi offers 4000 towards a new audi purchase.anet 37000 dollar loss in 2 yrs for me.i was told when i purchased the car, it would easily get 90000 to 15000 miles by every dealer.they are covering up an electrical defect or severly misrepresenting their product.

I have a 2001 audi a6 2.7t and it has almost caused me to get into severe accidents where i would have been seriously injured or killed in a side impact collision. The culprit is this: if you depress the brake (as if you were stopping or coming to a complete stop) and try to reaccelerate, there is little to no acceleration. This "hesitation" has almost got me killed several times. There are hundreds of other audi a6 consumers regardless of model engine (2.8, 2.7t, 3.0 and 4.2) that have experienced this problem. Thus, it is unacceptable for audi usa to say this is "normal" and "inherent in the operation of turbochargers" as this is what they have told me before while the car was being serviced. Although i do understand that turbochargers create what is deemed as "turbo lag" on acceleration, i experience major delays in any acceleration immediately after i have depressed the brake (at any speed) and then try to reaccelerate. This is a serious issue and needs to be fixed or remedied immediately. Please see the posting at audiworld (the largest online forum for audi owners). Here is the post url: http://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/304185.phtml . *la
Car burns oil 1/2 quart/1000 mi. Almost runs out before warning light comes on. Audi says this is normal- we have had two emergencies on the freeway where we almost ran out of oil. Also, it is very hard to read the oil dip stick- it is artful not useful. Rotors (all) failed at 14k miles and had to be replaced. We are advised we are not alone. Audi corp arrogant and will not respond. Throws everything back to dealer. Dealer fixed rotor problem at no cost. Tried to chargefor oil test repair. Believe there are design issues in both instances. Audi has learned nothing from their past problems- they are the most arrogant business i have ever experienced.
Audi's 2.8l v6 engine, from the late 1990's forward to current v6 engines has this problem. The cam adjusters commonly leak oil, and these leaks drip oil onto the exhaust manifold, which presents a fire hazard.
The contact owns a 2001 audi a6.the contact stated that a valve that allows air in the crankcase freezes.this causes a build-up and prevents oil from escaping due to the frozen valve.the failure occurs in cold weather conditions.the contact is in the process of taking the vehicle to the dealer for repair.the failure and current mileages were 65,000.
My car has been in the shop for repairs every 3000 miles. Some for major problems such as replacing the steering assembly and other times for multiple repairs of the same problems (engine malfunction light on).
While driving with no indication had no indication ofoilleaking fromengine. Dealer notified. Cause unknown.
Vehicle will intermittently hesitate at low speed; vehicle has been atdealer on two occasions, and problemstill reoccurring. Provide any further information.
This is the second a6-4.2 that has this problem. The car dumps all power from slow speeds. Imagine pulling out into traffic from a side street or onramp and turning the ignition off. Audi replaced my first a6 because of this problem and now according to the service managers at the dealership has numerous other2000 and 2001 a6's and a8's with the 4.2 engine that are experiencing this problem. It 's only a matter of time before there is going to be a horrendous t-bone or rear-end crash with these cars. According to the dealership, audi knew that these cars have this problem when they took back my original a6 and sold me the second one. The audi zone mgr asked the service rep why the heck they sold me another one. This is a relatively expensive and rare car but they continued to sell them after knowing full well that there is a serious flaw in the ecm and throttle combo that more than likely will causeserious accidents.after 5 weeks of phone calls to audi cust relations in michigan i have givenup and will have to get legal help. I have implored them to take the car back due to the safety issues and cust relations has played run-around without giving me any answers up to this point today. The most astounding point to this is that i have purchase 6 or 7 audi's over the years and 4 new vw's for my kids in the past 6 years and they absolutely don't care if i get hurt or killed in this car! this model car with this engine will kill someone if they don't do a recall to fix this problem asap. I guess they are relying on the airbags saving their customers

Automobile slows up when going up a hill, it seem as ifturbo is not functioning.was told that it wastransmission orturbo had a hole in it.
Audi a6 quattp with twin turbo, oil pump failure due to "coking" from turbos. Exact same problem as the recall on the 1.8 turbo engine.i feel that my engine should be included even though it is a 2.7 litre engine.
The insulated hear shield around the catalytic converter started a slow burn and excessive smoke, causing a fire alarm, while the car was parked at my work place. The fire company responded and put the fire out. The incident happened a second time.updated 01/30/12
While using the tire jack that came with the vehicle to lift it up off the ground and change a defective tire, it snapped. The car fell on the bricks we had set under the frame as backup. To correct the failure we stopped using the tire jack that came with the vehicle. After inspecting the jack we noticed that the plastic part of it was defective. This defect poses a serious personal injury issue for someone using these jacks without a backup.
According to the vehicle tire sticker on the driver's door the tire pressure should be 46-psi per tire.the dealer technician stated that the maximum air pressure should be 44 psi per tire.whenthe consumer contacted the manufacturer they asked the consumer to ignore the sticker and inflate 34 psi air pressure per tire. Seeking nhtsa help in this matter.*scc
Consumer called complaining about two sticker on the vehicle that specify tire pressure one that recomends 30psi and the other that recomends 40psi also states that when he had the tire preasure at 30 psi he two tires that fell and ended with blisters. Goodyearoriginal equipment.
Our 2001 audi and many other cars like it have plastic headlights that perform well for several years.then in any sunny location like the us southwest they begin to fog up and become progressively more opaque.this results is more light scatter using the headlamps at night: the headlamps no longer focus a narrow beam of light on the roadway ahead.due to fogged, opaque head lamp light scatter visibility is reduced putting especially pedestrians and bicycles at risk while driving at night.also, oncoming traffic experiences greater nighttime glare from fogged headlamps increasing accident risk.often, replacement costs for new plastic headlamps are prohibitive - at times more than the cost of a used car.many us drivers thus drive with fogged up, opaque headlamps.previously glass headlamps delivered many decades of reliable service without ever fogging up as do the windows of any older car.i believe the nhtsa should investigate and consider issuing a safety recall.

Headlamps gradually developed a misting or fogging of lens which reduced light during night driving, required professional cleaning with special materials to restore light output.problem started recurring more frequently and headlamps now require professsional restoration every 3 - 6 months, the misting of the lenses caused the vehicle to fail the mandatory vermont safety inspection in 2010.cleaning costs are considerable, and audi does not make new headlamp lenses or headlamp shells available, only complete headlamp units are available at cost approaching $ 2000 for the pair.the misting over of the lenses with a deposit that cannot be removed by any normal means creates hazardous night-time driving conditions particularly during rain or snow.
Film has built up on inside of headlamp glasses resulting in reduced efficiency of lights and reduced light output creating possible safety hazard.dealer has no known way of cleaning inside of headlamps.
The vehicle started leaking gas after filling up at gas station.gasoline odor also inside passenger compartment.no previous indications, no accidents, no damage to car.
The contact owns a 2001 audi a6 avant. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he smelled a strong odor of gasoline. The failure progressed over time and the contact found a fuel leak. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that fuel was leaking from the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted and they advised him that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 08v157000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they advised him that he needed to have the nipple on top of the tank replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. The vin was unavailable.
My vehicle qualifies for a few recalls but is not listed as one of the recalled cars. I suffer some the exact issues the factory recalled but my car is not a recalled car. Its really inconvenient to drive around with these issues because i am worried i could get stranded somewhere.
Audi 2001 a6 2.7ttiptronic while in d transmission mode, car does not accelerate per accelerator input after using the brakes. There is a delay of about a couple of secondsbefore car accelerates. This happens after braking from low speeds followed bygentle acceleration and also when braking from higher speeds followed by either gentle or aggressive acceleration. Often there will be a pronounced jerk when the car starts to accelerate after the delay.*lasafety issuetypical situation: when crossing medians to merge with traffic in the opposite direction, oncoming traffic have to brake heavily to avoid a collision because the car is unable to accelerate smartly after braking.the same crossing in previously owned audi a4 1.8t and audi a4 2.8 (both without fly by wire throttle) could be safely negotiated without any acceleration delay. This situation is unacceptable and highly dangerous in normal everyday driving.referencesfrom audiworld.com forums it is apparent that there are many owners experiencing this problem. There is not accident involved yet.there is a gas smell on left rear side, over the wheel arch on my audi a6 2001.i searched nhtsa for audi recall campaign. There is a recall campaign# 11v267000however, when i contact audi-usa at the number provided by this campaign, that is 1-800-822-2834, after asking my the vehicle mileage, audi-usa just said my car is not covered by the this recall. Apparently, the defect exactly matches what this recall campaign# 11v267000 describes. Why audi-usa refuses to cover my car? i am wondering whether it's because my car is at high mileage. They may try to save cost, but this is an apparent safety hazard caused by manufacturing defect. And the defect should be fixed regardless of vehicle mileage.regulators need to oversight things like this. The car manufacturers cannot just wait to fix defects until real accident happens.
I noticed that my fuel gauge was incorrect. I took car to the dealer and was told there was a bad fuel sender unit. The repair was estimated to cost $1000. I took the car to an independent mechanic who confirmed the problem but told me there had been a recall on the car for this problem.he gave me a printout of the recall notice, which had been issued in 2001. I spoke with audi of america and was told that i would have to confirm with the dealer that this recall work had been done on my car.in the database, the dealer found that my car had been checked for this problem in sept 2001 (before i purchased it) and it had been determined that no action was necessary.i spoke again with audi of america and after their representative had "researched" the issue, i was told that the correct fuel sending unit must have been in my car or they would have replaced it. So i am left with a nonfunctioning fuel gauge and no help from audi on fixing this safety problem.
The fuel gauge was defective, it read half a tank when it was really empty.consumer ran out of gas on a busy highway. Vehicle was serviced by the dealer.under the certificationprogram the defect should have been found. *tc
A fuel leak in the presence in the vehicle, strong smell cabin after filling gas tank to full. It is a saftey warning because any ignition or lighting can ignitea flame.
When filling car with gas the gas leaks out by filler tube at least a gallon or more. Have tried two different garages to fix problem but still leaks. I don't want to have an explosion caused from this problem, or gas leaked out my driveway or roads. Thanks for your help. I bought this car on the reputation of audi and vw.
Gas leaking on the floor of garage from roll-over nipple. The dealer refused to apply recall (not covered vin) for this issue. The vehicle was repaired with audi parts as listed in dot recall documents. The repair failed in april 2015. The 3m material used in the repair had deteriorated.
My 2006 audi a-6 cvt jerks on start-up or will not engage for several seconds and then leaps fprward.dealer says there is a problem but does not report what the problem could be.
Transmission went out at 104,000 miles.this seems to be a common problem on audi's.the car was a $55000 car!i ended up selling it for parts, as the cost of a new transmission was more than the market value.i will never buy audi again.
Problems with transmission failure. *mr the drain holes were not apart of the 20k miles maintenance.the consumer learned that the plenum chamber cover should have been removed duringmaintenance at which time any evidence of debris would have been obvious to the technician.the problem was due to water damage under the cowl, which destroyed the transmission computer. *sc

Car hesitates when pulling from a stop.hesitation appears to be transmission related.transmission is audi/zf tiptronic automatic.hesitation is unpredictable, and can last for several seconds.i have had a number of near misses as i pulled into traffic and have had to quickly shift to reverse and get out of the way of oncoming vehicles.audi states that their transmission is working as designed.i believe this because my research indicates this to be a know behavior of the tiptronic transmission as used in audi and some volkswagen vehicles.vw/audi needs to fix this problem before someone gets seriously injured or killed.
Transmission went out with now warning at 62,000 miles...it was very jolting and hard jerking of the vehicle.
There were problems getting the parts needed to fix the transmission. Audi used my car to train mechanics, rather than replacing the entire transmission and get my car back to me in a timely manner. The wrong parts were ordered, when the right parts were ordered they were not machined to proper tollerances. The car was delivered missing crucial parts in the transmission!
Vehicle exhibits delay from a stop when depressing the gas pedal.very dangerous when crossing oncoming traffic.*la
Transmission/automatic - no response from gas pedal when attempting to accelerate from rolling stop. Car then high-revs and finally jerks forward, after an approximate 1-2 second delay.

There appears to be a possible design defect that i believe merits reporting and possible investigation. I have 2001 audi a6. The replacement of the oil filter at a jiffy lube resulted in damage to the oil cooler which cause me to suffer a $800 plus repair bill at the dealer. The dealer technician advised jiffy lube that they are aware of the potentiality of problems in replacement of the oil filter and as result have one mechanic secure the cooler with channel locks while the other removes the oil filter. There are no present warnings for shops of this method to assure no damage to the oil cooler. I presented a b.a.r. Complaint in ca. And took up a small claims action for recovery, jiffy lube stepped up but audi refuses and denies any possible design flaw in their vehicle. As a consumer i cannot understand how it should require two technicians to remove and replace an oil filter.

The contact owns a 2001 audi a6.while driving 35 mph, the center seat belt in the back seat tipped over the infant child seat.the contact pulled over and corrected the failure.the contacttook the vehicle to the dealer and they attempted to duplicate the failure.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure. I have a 2001 audi a6. The passenger seat behind the driver was on a low heated setting.a blanket was over the top.after warming up the car noticed a burning smell and the seat was on fire.it burned a hole all the way through to the coils and through the blanket.i will be contacting audi usa about this but feel this is a severe safety issue with the vehicle as my son's car seat is on the other side.so far the dealership will do nothing and the car was out of warranty long ago.
During front crash at 25-30 mph both front seats drifted back, andpassenger seat reclined all the way back.
Was driving in my 2001 audi a6 to work, at about 45 mph, and when apply my brake, it suddenly went soft and the abs light came on, also the brake light on dash starts flashing. I performed a brake service but and it did not correct the problem, i then took the vehicle for a diagnosis and found out it had a faulty abs circuit and would cost around $2000 to repair. I later did a research and learned that these vehicles has a common abs problem, which the audi dealers would not answer to. I also learned this device were recall on the vw.are there anyone to protects us from this costly, faulty unit failure?
Consumer stated that when trying to apply the brakes the brake pedal will go to the floor causing the vehicle to have extended stopping distance dealer notified. Ts
Consumer stated while traveling on wet roads the brakes become soft. Once dry, the brakes grab.the consumer stated the front and rear brakes were replaced several times.
During inclement weather driver must pump the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.also, the brakes grab in the rear. Dealerreplaced the brakes four times, but problem still exists.

Abs/esp light would come on after driving for 60 minutes or more, usually went off if vehicle restarted, this became more frequent over course of 10 months until light stayed on all the time, wheel sensors had to be changed at significant cost to fix problem.
The vehicle shimmied severely when the brakes were depressed.
When applying brakes there is a low screeching noise, this is when vehicle is in a stopping position, and going at low speed, contact dealer and had no response.accelerator pedal needs to be pushed down between one and two inches to get any response, extreme pressure needed when using horn.

No events led up to the failure.abs module failed.not yet repaired.told by several shops (including audi dealer), this is a frequent problem due to faulty heat shield. Audi refused to provide any repair assistance.
While applying the brake pedal vehicle hesitated to stop completely.vehiclewas taken to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that the rotors needed to be replaced, and replaced them twice.however, the problem recurred. ...... The brake problem occurredfirst at 16,000 miles, occurred again beforewarranty expired, at 60,000 miles , and then at 75,000 miles. Dealer refused to give any relief, appealed to audi hom eoffice, and they too refused to d o anything about it.also, removed and installed windshield wiper blades.
Since i bought my car in 2001, i've had numerous problems with the brakes. Within the first 4 months, my rotors warped. They've warped twice since that time. Also, every 4 months or so, i have to take my car in to have the brakes resurfaced. I've been told that i have to brake aggressively rather than slow to a stop. So, i've tried that. The breaks still warp and need resurfacing more often than they should.i've been told by two mechanics at two different dealerships that this is a known problem with some, but not all, audi a6 2.7 turbos and 4.0's (8 cylinder version). They've said that the technical people know there's a problem, but corporate keeps denying it. The last mechanic said there are some things they can do to try to help the problem, but they're not guaranteed to work. None of the fixes included using thicker or better brakes, which evidently are available at a high cost! some of the tweaks they can do include precision balancing of the tires and making the suspension even tighter than it already is.
When the brakes were applied, the pedal had gone to the floor causing extended stopping distance.the dealer was notified.tsthe fuel door assembly was found to be faulty.scc
My car has been in the shop for repairs every 3000 miles. Some for major problems such as replacing the steering assembly and other times for multiple repairs of the same problems (engine malfunction light on).
*sc

Consumer repaired the tires due to recall.the manufacturer stated they won't reimburse for the replacement tire because the damage occurred prior to 12/16/2002. The manufacturer also said that it was the date given by nhtsa.*la the consumer stated the tire ruptured while driving and apparently the side of the tire failed and sudden pressure lost caused the wheel to come in direct contact with the pavement, the tire and the wheel had to be replaced.

Driving on interstate 80 around a curve when i hear a loud noise o looked around at the other cars in the other lanes to see what was going on and they were looking at me wondering the same thing or they saw the blowout and or heard the noise?i realized it was my tire losing steering control.i quickly moved over to shoulder found i was riding on rim.the tire had blown off rim to the back of wheel wellpushing off the anti lock brake cable for that wheel and damaging my wheel well.a few minutes after examining tire a state of nevada emergency road service van pulled up and said after looking at tire, your lucky you didn't cause an accident with that tire failure.he put on spare and i drove away.i also had other tire experts look at tire and not one of them said it was a road hazard even though the manufacturer said it was after their inspection.one of the tire experts who sells their tires said don't even try to get them to replace that tire they never do.goodyear is the parent company.
The vehicle was riding rough. The vehicle was serviced and the technician noticed that three of the rims were bent.
