Takata recall ' i have been calling audi rochester for months now trying to get this taken care of and i have been getting the run around non stop. I have left about 4 machine messages and nobody has yet to return my call. I am getting letter after letter about this recall.

Takata recall.since july 2016, i have called the local audi dealer three times for information on expected airbag repair or removal. No repair date offered. Called audi usa for airbag repair date or information in november 2016. Audi stated takata has not given them any information on replacement airbags. I asked about a vehicle buy-back program in regards to recall. Audi usa stated no help offered.

Takata recall - since july 2016 notification of recall we have received no further correspondence from audi.after numerous calls repeatedly told "there are no parts and don't know when we will get them, you will be notified".this has now been 8 months since notification, audi must get our car fixed.

Takata recallthere is an open recall for my checked frontal passenger airbags but the manufacturer has yet to provide a free remedy for these defective airbags. I would like the replacement of these air bags for free before the recall case is closed.

Takata recall. Recall issued in may of 2016, but in almost a year there is still no fix available.

Takata recall: the recall notice was issued in july. 2016. As of dec. 2016 no repairs have been possible, nor parts available until "the spring". The passenger seat is unsafe for use, rendering the auto extremely dysfunctional for at least 9+ months.inexcusable!

Takata recall. Defective product with no solution to make car safe. Nearly 12 months since notification and still no solution.

Takata recall - i have been trying to get my passenger airbag replaced since the recall was issued. I have been calling my local audi dealership in chantilly, va every month or so to check if the part is available, always get the same answer "someone will call you back" (they never do). I understand that takata went out of business but this is a safety issue and needs to be resolved by another manufacturer. My car at this moment is worthless, i will not be able to sell it with an open recall that has no remedy at this moment, nor can i have any passenger safely sit next to me. I am very disappointed with audi for handling this so poorly and for not having a solution. In the meanwhile i get takata airbag recall mailing remainders from audi about every other week, they make you think that the parts are available but they are not and for my older model car - a 2008 - they probably never will be. I will not buy another audi ever again.

It happens when i turn the car on and i go to park it. When i pass reverse. It seems to happen a lot more often after it rains. My transmission is going into limp mode due to a major fault. Code p0706: transmission range sensor circuit range/performancethe transmission range sensor tells the tcm the position of the gear lever. It also contains a neutral safety switch, which ensures that you can only start your car in neutral or park.potential causes for this code to set are:faulty transmission range sensor misadjusted transmission range sensor open or shorted transmission range sensor harness faulty pcmit happens to a lot of the a4 audi's. Its dangerous and its not anything that owners of the audis did or did not do. I have never neglected my car. It is something that is enevatable because it was caused during the manufacturing.

Informed by audi of recall. No remedy, no timetable for repair, no offer ofloaner car, just advised to not drive with passengers indefinitely. Talked to two audi dealers and heard same story.they do not address loss of use of not being able to safely transport passengers yet they say do not disconnect airbags. Other auto brands affected by this recall are making repairs and providing loaner/rental cars. I assume the vw diesel scandal is affecting their desire to protect and take care of their customers.it's been 4 months since the notice and as of 10/28 there is no new info or remedy available.

Takata recall.i was notified at the beginning of july that my vehicle was affected by the takata recall for the passenger side airbag, but that no solution was available.i requested more information both from my local audi dealership as well as from audi usa and received no definitive answer.the best estimate the dealership could give me was 8 months to a year before a solution.this means that i can not safely have a passenger in the vehicle or our infant int he back seat for that period of time, essentially rendering the vehicle useless.this does not seem like a reasonable time period to me and i would like the nhtsa to evaluate the situation.

Takata recallaccording to the audi web site, this recall has been open since may 26, 2016, with no remedy available yet. Six months seems like an excessive amount of time to address a serious safety issue. I am unable to have anyone ride in the passenger seat, for fear of their injury or death in the event of an accident, and the possible personal liability related to this.

Takata recall-my 2008 audi a4 has been under recall for much greater than one year. I am at the audi dealer today for routine service and again i have been presented with a reminder that my car is under recall and that for safety concerns no one should ride in the passenger front seat! i have been patient listening to the corporate-speak about how this is a not an audi problem, but a takata problem. At this time, i believe that volkswagen ag, the owner of audi should own this problem and not continue to pass it off to a financially unaccountable international partsmanufacturer. I have been informed that my vehicle is not eligible for dealer trade-in because of this unfulfilled recall. At this time my financial loss is not insignificant, however the sustained exposure to life threatening injury cannot be justified by audi or volkswagen. Patience and reasonable understanding can be taken advantage by corporate greed. I now refuse to accept continued delay from the most profitable division of volkswagen ag.

Takata recall my complain is the lack of importance by audiand takata when they dont have a time table as to when parts are going to become available to fix this problem and they dont care if you have to sit your spouse or children and potentially expose them to a tragedy, should you be involved in a auto accident. In my case i have 2 vehicles, different manufacturers and both of them have the same recall for the air bags.

Takata recall.received notice that passenger airbag is unsafe and is recalled. There is no solution available to this date. I drive with a person who is claustrophobic and must sit in the passenger side. I also drive a group of friends and we need to use the passenger seat as well as the rear seats. This is dangerous and i request a speedy remedy/ replacement air bag.

Takata recall:i'm told that the remedy is not available my dealer still doesn't have the necessary part to make the repair

Takata recall:this complaint is in regard to passenger airbag only, what about the driver. I contacted audi usa, 800-822-2834 and confirmed with the rep ( vince)that there is noguarantee available regarding the driver airbag not affected by the recall.audi usa is not able/willingto provide a letter indicating that there is no need to be concerned re; driver air bag and more importantly , that it is safe.. I find this to be very inappropriate, i live in miami, fl. A highly humid and hot state which takatahas reported airbag inflator could potentially rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute high humidity and temperature cycling. I know for a fact can be deadly if airbag deploys.i was informed by the audi/ rep that the only way to be sure is to " take the car apart to confirm manufacturer of airbag." this is highly unacceptable. I do not feel safe driving my vehicle and should not have to deny a family/friend transportation ( passenger ) because i have a recalled airbag with a "repair solution pending."in addition, i am making my car payments towards a car that i now feel unsafe, and cannot allow a passenger to accompany me.i am requesting a prompt answer to my complaint in hopes that we can come to an agreement and solution towards this problem.

Takata recall - i have now had two official notices that my car is under recall, but the audi dealer in sf (royal auto group) still says they don't have parts and can't fix it. Additionally, they won't give me a loaner while i wait. This means i am driving an incredibly unsafe car around simply because bureaucracy is getting in the way of fixing it.

Takata recall. This recap was announced may 2016. I received a letter from audi in june. It is now december 2016 and there has been no further contact from the manufacturer. The letter states not to allow a person to sit in the passenger seat. Most of my driving is alone to work. But my father was recently diagnosed with cancer and i am not able to take him to treatment. I called dublin ohio dealer to ask for a loaner car for a couple of hours twice a month. No cooperation. No path forward. No schedule for remedy. Nothing. My car might as well be a one seated car.

I find this unacceptable and unethical!please help me.when i called audi corp. They were even less helpful than the dealership.this after wanting on hold for over 30 minutes!

Takata recall:no word from the dealer about how to remedy this problem. Please require some remedy/actionasap.

Takata recall, no solution or remedy is available. It has been greater than 1 year (jan 11, 2017) and the loss of use of vehicle due to recommendation not to have a passenger in the front seat is beyond unacceptable.

I accidentally drove over the rumble strip on the side of the highway.the right rear tire blew and the car flipped over six times and changed direction.every side air bag inflated excepted for my side, the driver's side air bag.the front air bag did not deploy either.my a4 was completely destroyed except for where i was sitting.when the first responders came they did not expect for me to be alive and the accident was classified as a level 2 trauma.i hit my head on the driver's side window and suffered a major concussion with a hematoma. I also had major facial lacerations, a broken nose, broken ribs, and a severe bone bruise on my knee.audi sent an inspector to the car after the accident and his conclusion was there was not enough impact on the side of the car even though the car flipped six times at highway speeds to deploy my side air bag.every other side curtain airbag deployed.the only other passengers in the car were my two labradors.no other adults were in the car.the two labradors each weighed less than 65 pounds and i weigh 135 pounds.audi has given me a free maintenance package for my next audi.thank you for looking into this matter.a dvd of pictures was made of the car along with a report of the condition of the car after the accident.

I did not receive a notice that audi supposedly sent that my 2008 a4 sedan has a takata air bag that will be replaced.

Takata recallour passenger air bag was recalled in may 2016, and audi informed us in july 2016 of the recall. The defect has not been fixed, which has caused hardship for our family of four, for whom this car is the main mode of transportation. We purchased this car used in 2011. We contacted audi of north america, who would not give us a rental car or tell us when our car would be repaired.

Takata recall.ihave been to my dealership with regards to the recall here in houston. And the only thing they say is that they are aware but they don't know what audi is going to do about it. They have no timeline or table as to when they will begin repairs.

Takata recall - may 27, 2016 with no remedythe recall is for my passenger side only. It is hard to believe that the driver side is not also impacted and there is no recall on it yet since the car and the air bags were all built at the same time and it would seem that they would not put two different brands in the vehicle. I am afraid to drive the vehicle. There is no remedy as of yet. What am i supposed to do? it is unacceptable to be put in this situation. Some one should provide me a safe car to drive until this is resolved.

Takata recall: i received my passenger frontal airbag recall (dir2) notice dated march 2017 and it advises that because the replacement parts are not available, that audi recommends avoiding use of the front passenger seat whenever possible until the recall repair has been performed. This vehicle is my family's primary vehicle and is used by the driver and one or more passengers nearly every day. We have a second vehicle, a 2007 ford ranger which also has a takata passenger frontal airbag recall with no date for repair. I have spoken with my local audi dealer who has stated that no replacement parts will be available for at least two years or more. We have waited for the ford ranger airbag replacement parts for a couple of years already. We do not have the resources to scrap either of our defective vehicles and start over with another car, nor can we afford to rent a vehicle to replace either or both of the vehicles that are deemed to be unsafe for our family. This lack of a solution on the part of the car manufacturers and by the government overseeing this issue is deplorable.

I have called my dealership and reached out to the vehicle manufacturer on their website numerous times over a 10 year period (at the very least since audi announced agreed to the repairs). I keep on receiving notice postcards from audi to have this scheduled with my local dealership.when i call they keep telling me to be patient, they will call me when one comes in. I have started to receive postcards from another dealer to schedule the repair...only this dealer is across the country in california! it does not seem to me when i contact audi of america they don't really care. I only have approximately 70,000 miles on the car because i don't drive it with my family aboard(because of the factory installed takata front passenger anti personnel device). The only help from audi was in the from of a recommendation "do not" use front passenger seat. To recap 12 year old vehicle, i believe i live in zone2, numerous attempts to both audi of america and my local dealership, recall notices from california!*****update: as i was about to file this complaint i decided to call benzel busch audito check. And miraculously they have one. I was told by audi of america through customer service representative greg m. On may 16, 2019, that he spoke to katherine at service and that they are awaiting parts and that she assured him that i was a priority and once the part arrives they will be reaching out to me directly. In the almost a year of waiting, no one has contacted me, not aoa or local dealer. I called her today jan. 8, 2020 and scheduled a repair on jan.13. It would seem that i am not a priority.

"takata recall"

Takata recall. Safety recall 69n2. I received two notices of this recall from audi of american, inc, the last on april 28, 2016.a telephone call to the dealer (audi of hilton head) at that time advised that replacement parts are not yet available, with no estimate as to when repairs will be made. I am concerned that corrective action is long over due and that a potentially dangerous situation remains.

Takata recall. After receiving notice of the recall, we cannot place our disabled son in the front seat such that we can keep and eye on him, as he can't control his impulses. It is not safe to place him in the back as he almost caused an accident when my wife was driving. This is an extreme hardship, and audi won't provide me a loaner car or a solution. Is there a class action suit involving this issue?audi has provided no help, and takata can't be reached. What we we supposed to do?

Takata recall is directly responsible for me driving a potentially deadly car over 70,000 miles and 10 years. To add insult to injury or death, the deadly defect has only been acknowledged in the last 18 months and there has been no remedy during this time, the idea that i have to be dead or permanently maimed, to qualify for litigation/compensation, is what make this dangerous situation deadly. It was attempted manslaughter until the delay in admittance of a deadly defect and now has become attempted murder with the delay of an immediate remedy. I request compensation of $100,000.00 per year for every year i have owned my vehicle with this takata airbag deadly defect.

"takata recall" no parts available. Went to prestige audi to state my concern about a rental or loaner car. They told me to drive the car like that. It isnt to dangerous. This recall can cause a fatality. Why do i have to wait. I need answers . I drive around alot

I had just put $35 in gassed the car still said i needed gas and that i had zero miles left of gas i made a trip that was about 45 miles in distance. My car was then parked and turned off for about 3 to 4 hours then it had trouble starting at first but turned on and i proceeded onto the freeway which was across the street from the parking lot i parked inside of. It was about 9:00 pm and thankfully there was not a lot of cars out. The entrance of this freeway consist of one medium sized steep hill which remains traveling upward onto a mountain when my car suddenly shut off my 3 year old daughter and i were in the car and thankfully we were on the last lane due to the fact that we were barely entering the freeway. I parked on the right side skirt i had just replaced that battery earlier that week (no more than 5 day before). I had a small gas can in my trunk and had someone go to the gas station and bring me the gallon of gas which i emptied into my car and it turned on. At times the car does smell like gasoline especially if i just put gas. It doesn't matter how much gas i fill up my tank with it will indicate i have 0 miles of gas in the screen and the fuel gauge will not go below the middle indicator and will never show above 3/4 full. My tpmsais always indicating a problem when the i have a mechanic see it and he assured me it's in good condition

Headlights have a malfunction where they turn off and on.the sensor says that the left front bulb has dipped but audi doesn't know what the issue is or how to fix it.

Takata recall

Headlights shut off while driving at night. I have looked at many forums and have seen this a problem in over 70 percent of audi a4 b7 owners. This is an extreme hazard and needs to be fixed. My headlights shut off while driving at 8 pm. They would flicker, but would not re fire. I am speaking about the bi-xenon headlights for the 2006 - 2008 audi line. I ended up driving home with my fog lights on.

Takata recall

Left dipped headlight flickers , dies out. While in motion or stationary , the left dipped headlight will flicker repeatedly and die out. Turning the headlights off and back on fixes the issue for a very short period of time before the flickering starts up again and every 5 minutes the left dipped headlight goes out again. This issue is very concerning for not only safety reasons , but for legal reasons as well given that i have to turn the headlights off and on every 5 minutes to avoid breaking the law by driving with a headlight out at night. This origin of this issue is unknown , but it seems to bevery common and it warrants a recall considering how many people have this issue with the 2008 line of audi a4 vehicles points to a mass manufacturing defect. It is not only dangerous it is illegal! this widespread issue demands a recall!

I was driving on rout 62 with my 16 year old niece and my car felt like it went into neutral, the lights on the dash started flashing. The brake pedal felt tight but i was able to pull over without causing an accident. It keeps happening and i am afraid to drive. (especially knowing there is an open recall because my airbags may not work or worse, cause severe injury due to metal shrapnel) i also read that my car has a hidden defect that the timing chain can go at any time, causing catastrophic engine failure. I brought it to an independent volkswagen audi mechanic where they did a diagnostic. He told me to bring it to someplace that specializes in transmissions.i looked in my owners manual and under transmissions. It says if this happens drive it to your nearest audi shop. I emailed audi because i read that there were recalls and technical service bulletins about the diagnostic code p0606. I saw that there are many class action lawsuits and complaints all about the same problem with my car. I can't wait years for a class action lawsuit. I live in new england and it's getting cold. This is my only car. I bought 6 months ago, in november. I have done all the service and maintenance recommended by audi. What ever it is that is wrong with my car, audi has fixed other cars but not fixing mine and my car.i take excellent care of my car, inside and out. It has been serviced at every recommend milage date. Nothing has ever gone neglected.my car is completely inoperable and it is due to defects that were made duringmanufacturing.i do not trust audi customer service or the audi service center.

The vehicle had a long standing oil consumption problem commonly known on this model and year vehicle which audi acknowledged by authorizing a repair. As a result, audi of america and schmitt's audi in bowmansville, ny agreed to replace the engine piston rings to address this problem. Although i reported the problem multiple times during the warranty period, audi did not agree to perform the repairs until after the warranty expired. The engine was taken apart by schmitt's in october 2013 at just under 57k miles, the timing belt was removed and the piston rings were replaced.however, approx. 3,000 miles later, on june 30th, while driving 60 mph on i-90 the timing belt snapped without notice, causing bent valves and major engine failure. The car came to a stop in the middle of the highway split with rte. 219 which was a very dangerous situation. The police had to come to provide protection from traffic.schmitt's was the last to touch the engine but denied responsibility for the belt failure and stated that the timing belt was defective. Audi of america denied that the belt was defective, even though according to the 2008 audi maintenance schedule the belt was not due to be changed until 110k miles.the belt broke at roughly half the mileage it was recommended to be changed at.audi denied all responsibility for the $4200 engine repair cost and stated i was out of warranty therefore no coverage was available. I had extensive communications with audi president [xxx] office and with schmitt's audi over a 6+ week period trying to resolve the issue, to no avail.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have an audi a4 2008 that has a long standing oil consumption problem.the audi dealership in las vegas assures me it is normal for the audi turbo engines to require additional oil 'top offs' between the regular oil change intervals.i have owned several other (non audi) turbo engine automobiles, and i know this is not 'normal'.i have read many online forums on this topic, where the audi a4 owner was eventually informed the engine seals were bad, causing the oil consumption problem, but audi would not cover any costs to repair such on the 2008 a4 model.this vehicle has always used synthetic oil, which should only need oil replacing twice a year.but every 4 weeks the 'low oil' dashboard light illuminates, and i need to add another quart or two quarts.there is an audi design flaw on the a4 engine, otherwise it would not be burning through excessive oil the way it does.

2008 audi a4 avant with the 2.0 liter turbo motor/ engine code is bwt. Camshaft lobe and high pressure fuel premature worn out. Audi knew about this issue in 2010 about the premature wear on the camshaft lobe and high pressure fuel pump.

At 47658 miles check engine light came on dealer stated it was the camshaft & repaired at cost of $2007. (2/14) and same problem again at 60,711 miles at cost of $2305.there was a camshaft warranty extension (recall) for 10 yrs. 100,000 miles for same car for 2005 to 2007.my 2008 car was purchased 10/07 & would assume mfg. In 2007 which was the time periodthe camshaft problem existed and covered under that warranty.it appears audi did not want to extend that warranty into the next year even though the camshaft problem still existed.the camshaft should never have to replaced at such low mileage once much less twice on a much less expensive car much less than an audi.this is my third audi and i have never had a problem before.to date i have spent $4300 in 2 years on something that should not have to be replaced.your thoughts and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Engine consumes oil

I too am having issues with my audi a4 turbo i have to put oil in my vehicle seems like every month or so. I've had the car for only 6 months and i have had 2 oil changes and about 10 quarts of oil in that time. My mechanic says with synthetic oil you should only need oil changes twice a year. I too keep getting told this is normal...this is not normal, there should be something done about this situation....this can not be good for my engine. I also went to have my ac looked at and found that this vehicle also has electrical issues when it comes to the ac this car is turning out to be not worth the money at all. I cant not believe audi is selling this type of vehicle i have always had a great experience with audi in the past but this time i think i have had enough.

Sensors (1) the sensor for rear light keeps coming on and off(2) stability sensor is on for no apparent reason(3) oil light is on despite having oil in the car(4) car eats oil(5) it is impossible to change the driver side right headlight bulb(6) mechanics and dealers overcharge for parts and service not only in the us but also in australia$500 for bulb, $300 for oil change, $200 per hour labor. This is more expensive than getting a head transplant.

June 4 2016 my vehicle stalled while driving on the freeway.per audi dealer the cause is engine failure as the oil pump has a tendency to go bad causing no compression in the engine.the vehicle used synthetic oil and had its oil changed frequently including having to add additional oil as it was burning through oil quickly which appears to be common in these vehicles.the camshaft also needed replacing within one year after purchasing the vehicle. There is a fault in the engines and such breakdowns should not occur.audi has quoted $14000 to fix and offered no financial support or further explanation.

Problem:premature wear of the cam and cam follower resulting in p0087 errors.this causes the car to run very erratic, surging and bucking and a general loss of power.there is an auditsb (technical service bulletin) on this very issue for my 2005, 2006 and 2007.this is a very wide spread problem! my 2008 audi should be covered.--- at around 60k miles the car started experiencing the dreaded premature wear of the cam lobe follower and the high pressure fuel pump lobe.the follower was replaced but the cam was not.the car was then taken to my audi mechanic and i was told this is a widespread problem and that audi had extended the warranty on the high pressure pump, cam follower and the cam to 120,000 miles and mine would be covered. When i took it to the audi dealer they did everything that had a recall and told me to try it.the problem quickly returned and i had my mechanic remove the high pressure pump and we looked at the wear on the follower and cam.the cam as well as the follower were extremely worn. I do have pictures from then and now that the cam and follower have been replaced, i have the old parts as well.next took it back to audi dealership expecting to have this issue resolved and was told my vin was outside the extended warranty program and was not covered.they then told me i needed a cam and follower and i was given an estimate.i would audi to reimbruse me for the work i had performed.

At 33,000 miles car epc light was illuminated. Took car to independent service station and reading could not be attained for any trouble code.within 2 weeks just started driving the car.oil pressure light came on. Car died and would not start. Had car towed to service station.was informed that the engine computer needed to be replaced. Once replaced they realized that the engine crankshaft has seized.engine needed to be replaced (with only 34,000 miles on the care and regular maintenance). Called audi dealership and was told that the car was too old and that they would not even bring the issue to the manufacturer.we had the engine replaced through local service station.service station suggested that when they researched they found that this was a common issue on the a4 2.0t.we realize that the car is 10 years old, but at 34,000 miles a cars engine should not need to be replaced.audi should take responsibility for the engine issues.

I recently purchased a 2008 audi a4 2.0 with approximately 37,000 miles on it. I've driven the car less than 3000 miles and had to add 1 quart of oil every month of ownership (3). Audi dealership says this is normal. Like the previous complaint listed on this topic, i too have see a number of blogs on the subject of the 2008 a4's having issues with excessive oil consumption. I've also seen mention of a technical service bulletin being issued by audi on this but i've yet to find it.

Since we leased our 08 audi a4 quattro 2.0t we have had issues with the car seeming to loose power and jerk usually when driving between 60 and 70mph. We have complained to the dealer and they have replaced or repaired the following under warranty: two diverter valves (first at 500 miles and the second at 1200 miles) the car would shake violently when cold as if running on 2cyl, removed an air filter pre-screen (at 5000 miles scheduled service), replaced the turbo charger and battery power cable (8500 miles). Un-fortunately the vehicle continues with the problem at 13,880 miles. Additionally, the vehicle consumes oil and now only gives us 15-17mpg in the city, which we have been told are both normal by maplewood audi. I can say that if we had know about the vehicles oil consumption, poor fuel mileage (especially for a 4cyl engine) and the engine jerk we would have never leased this vehicle.

Purchased 2008 audi a4 new from dealership in october 2007. Two months after purchase, notice oil consumption problem at 1qt every 1,000 miles.dealership says this is normal but my mechanic said it is not.with the help of a pro-bono attorney, contacted audi and demanded repair at 12,000 miles.audi replaced rings and car was fine for 24,000 miles.at 36,000 miles, low oil light came on - 1 qt low again.had oil changed by my mechanic and two days later a new problem - low oil pressure light comes on.had car towed to dealership and they found nothing wrong with car (no codes, drives fine).i demand through audi an oil pressure test.test came back normal.they told me to drive the car and that there is nothing wrong with it.the low oil pressure light is still coming on every 20 minutes of driving.the car goes back in the shop again this week.car is obviously defective and i am concerned about major engine damage.

I purchased the a4 used with only 19k miles on it.i noticed that after driving 1,000 miles, 1 quart of oil was gone.i filled it back up and drove another 1,000 miles.the same thing.i have a family relative who owns a vw passat with the same engine and her car burned oil too.audi says that this is a common problem and that it's something the owner will have to get used to.this is not normal, something is wrong with the engines.there are so many forums and sites dedicated to the vw/audi 2.0t engines consuming oil.

Tire jack for 2008 audi a4 failed.the car was jacked up on a flat concrete surface with the parking brake engaged as stated in the manual. A minute after settling, the jack failed for no apparent reason. The jack has caused damage to the sideskirt and door section due to the car falling on to it.submitted a warranty claim with audi of america.however audi denied the warranty claim with no technical explanation as to why the jack failed. Upon researching the topic, i have found this is a very common occurrence among other a4 owners.

Shortly after purchased car, i complained that car was burning oil. I was assured this was normal and nothing to worry about. Continued more and more. I asked who was supposed to cover this added expense. They gave me oil for awhile, but that ended. In 2913 i was informed the seals were bad that is why it was using oil. They lied and denied an oil leak for over 3 years. Will not cover any costs to repair. More recent my headlight went out and they will not cover this expense either. This is the second audi with headlight issue. I was never sent notice about the first headlight in which audi agreed to reimburse. They will not pay me because they claim i did not file in time. Now my current audi headlight went out. I called audi and will not pay or acknowledge it is a problem.

Headlights have a malfunction where they turn off and on.the sensor says that the left front bulb has dipped but audi doesn't know what the issue is or how to fix it.

Got a left dipped headlight error on dashboard and tried having it fixed, but to no avail.looking at threads online, many other audi owners have encountered this safety issue, which is very serious.would like nhtsa to look into this.i have to borrow another car to drive at night.still trying to get this fixed.

My car gave me this message" left headlight main beam dipped and the left headlight went off. The left head light come on for a while when i start the car in the night for a while and then goes off when i am on the road. I checked with the audi usa customer service line and they didn't give me any plausible explanation. I went online with my car problem and found out that many audi 2005-2009 have the same problem and the audi dealerships don't want to deal with this issue with their cars

Lights are constantly blinding other drivers on low beam

I have had repeated issues with oil consumption. Oil overconsumption has been the subject of a class action lawsuit for 2009-2011 a4s. For some reason the 2008 was not included in the lawsuit. I have had to top my oil off every 3,000 miles, at a minimum, for the entire life of the vehicle. This has been a safety issue numerous times where i was not close to any facility that sold oil and was forced to drive the car on low oil a long distance in order to top it off. I have also had issues with the headlights being dipped -- also a known problem for this year and model. The headlights go out way inadvance of a normal life expectancy. Audi gives excuses on how it can be fixed (the prices and repairs were inconsistent between the two headlights). One of them they quoted me $1300! when i read the service information they had only replaced a bulb!

I have the dipped headlight problem in my 2009 audi a4/b7 driver-side headlight. I have my lights set to always be on. Every now and then i'll see the light flicker or go out and get the dipped headlight warning. What i do is turn my lights fully off, leave them off for a few seconds, and then switch them back on. This seems to fix the problem. Until now the headlight completely goes out with only the (dipped headlight) warning on my dashboard. This is a recall worthy problem as i have searched the internet with no luck only more victims who have to drive with malfunctioning headlights.

My warning light came on about 1 month ago telling me that my dynamic headlight range control is no longer working properly.

I just purchased an 08 audi a4 3.2l cabriolet almost 2 months ago with 16k miles on it. After 3 weeks, and approximately 800 miles later, my check engine light came on. I took it to the used car dealership i bought it from (mazda) and was sent to audi. I took it to audi and they couldn't get me in for 1.5 weeks. I finally got it in, and they said they cleaned my valves and changed 3 injectors due to a carbon build up. 2 1/2 weeks later, light is back on. I called the audi dealership, can't see me for another 2 weeks! i did some research and found a full thread of a lot of complaints about this same issue for this year/engine size from audi and vw. Audi is claiming there is no issue and the gasoline is at fault. I use only top tier gasoline as recommended. Please review the several other complainants on this forum at http://www.audiforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113568this is an ongoing issue that is being ignored and affecting a lot of consumers. It has yet to become a safety issue, but could in the very near future if not corrected.

2008 audi a4 stalled without warning while driving. This almost caused an accident with other drivers. When the vehicle was restarted it would move a few yards before stalling again.the vehicle was towed to the nearest dealer. It turned out the stalling was due to a defective fuel pressure regulator.

Was changing lanes and when trying to accelerate the car would barely move then in an instant went extremely fast. I hit the brakes but the car was revved so high and going so fast that i just skidded into traffic. Before the incident we noticed it would do it but the lag wasn't so bad... Wasn't until we drove it on the freeway in stop and go traffic that it really became a problem. Very scary to have a car full of kids and not be able to control the acceleration.

Initially, check engine light came on.dealer suggested oil change well before due as solution.problem is failing high pressure fuel pump.failing fuel pump causes camshaft and valve lifters to wear prematurely.as high pressure fuel pump fails car loses power and/or loses ability to accelerate.car is especially dangerous in situations such as crossing traffic, accelerating to get up to speed, may lose ability to accelerate when attempting to pass other vehicles - very unsafe on 2 lane roads.problem of little to no acceleration is intermittent and without warning and can be frequent.same parts and problems as documented on prior models years, including 2007 audi a4's (previous model year) that were covered either due to recall or manufacture extending the warranty due to product defect.2008 models were still under initial manufacturer warranty for age of vehicle when prior years became covered / recalled.cost at audi dealer to fix were over $1600. Dealer paperworkstates problem is "not uncommon on this motor."

I have had to top my oil off every 3,000 miles, at a minimum, for the entire life of the vehicle. After reaching an appropriate speed on a highway, i eased off the gas pedal but the car continued to accelerate.i removed my foot from the gas pedal entirely but the pedal stayed down.i shifted the car into neutral, turned on my hazards and pulled over to the breakdown lane.i got out of my car and checked the still depressed pedal to see if anything was obstructing it and there was nothing.i pulled the pedal up and the engine stopped revving.

Problem with my vehicle is the high pressure fuel pump and camshaft.apparently there has been a warranty for 2007 and older models and i was also told by a dealer that 2009 and new models were covered.the warranty was an extended to 10 years/120,000 miles for this issue.i called corporate also to see if there may have been a mistake at the dealer that my vehicle was not covered and they said it was not mistake.whats astounding is that the same issue my vehicle has is what is covered in previous and later years for the exact same vehicle as mine.my mechanic advised me that the system is failing and it is only a matter of time i start experiencing loss of power and other engine issues.i don't know if i am writing this to the correct department however any assistance in making this issue known and even forcing audi's hand to take responsibility of this issue would be greatly appreciated.the vehicle is a wonderful vehicle but to be told about and also reading about other owner's experiencing this issue and saying that their vehicle just stalled and lost complete power or that the camshaft broke into pieces causing engine failure in addition to fuel failure is scary.again it looks like this is a big problem that has been ignored for years.maybe forcing a recall will correct their manufacturing problem with the affected vehicles.

2008 audi a4 avant with the 2.0 liter turbo motor/ engine code is bwt. Camshaft lobe and high pressure fuel premature worn out. Audi knew about this issue in 2010 about the premature wear on the camshaft lobe and high pressure fuel pump.

Transmission shifting out of control.

The park, reverse, neutral, drive display flashes which indicates that the vehicle is running in caution mode. The vehicle does not run in reverse and while the vehicle is moving it seems as if it wants to change gears such as from drive to neutral. My research indicates that this was a common problem with the 2008 models. My research also indicates that the problem is the transmission control module. I am not aware if this problem affected other year models or if audi corrected the problem after 2008. I purchased the vehicle in july of 2016 with the problem and the dealership informed me that it was a recall problem. When i recently took the vehicle to a audi dealership they informed me that it was not a recall problem. The dealership information sounds false since this is a safety issue. I am making this complaint to see if an investigation is warranted for me and other owners of the 2008 audi a4.

On 7/2/18 imerged on to 280 s from moorpark avenue in san jose. I had driven about a mile @ 60 (i do not use cruise control)when engine started to accelerate unexpectedly. I stepped on brake which slowed my vehicle but when i removed foot from brake it started to accelerate again. I was able to exit freeway safely and pull over into an empty parking lot.when i turned off engine i believe i hear a loud "roar" noise. Experience was frightening. I was afraid i would lose control of vehicle and cause major injury. I checked floor mat and floor to see if there was obstruction but there was none. I called tow company but after waiting 3 hoursfor c&m towing to not show up i decided to driver car around parking lot to see how it would drive. It drove fine so i drove home on surface streets. The next day took 2008 audi a4with 64k miles in to our mechanic. Diagnostics did not show any error codes.i do not know what caused sudden acceleration. Still i need to report this for the public record,in the event this happens again to me or othersand it does not end well.linda

Accelerator pedal stuck at wide open throttle. Had to shut the ignition off and pull over and restart the car and it went back to normal. Googled the net and found that many people encountered the same problem.

Takata recall

Takata recall

When coming to a complete stop, the car shudders while going into 2nd and 1st gear as if someone has just rear ended the car. Took the audi to an authorized dealer in my area and findings are that it is the mechatronic that is defective. Finding is that is a very common problem and audi is not taking any action after contacting aoa. Repair cost is $2700.

My a4 randomly switches into neutral as i am driving down the highway. I have no control and have coasted to the shoulder of the road on one occasion when "drive" would not re-engage. My dashboard screen flashes over the prnd transmission indicators. The check engine light is on also, so i took the car to the audi dealer in south orlando. I was told that the transmission control module has gone bad and will cost $3100 to repair. The car also will not go into reverse about every 3rd or 4th time i select this gear. My research shows that this same problem was a recall on 2004-2006 models, so i would assume audi will recall this model year as well. My a4 has 62,000 miles on it and has been maintained by the dealer since new. I don't understand how this safety issue has not been elevated to a recall status already given the previous history of similar problems on the same models.

Power train problem results in prnds light flashing, intermittently.while driving, the transmission changes gears which leads to loss of control of vehicle. Similar problem led to recall of previous models. Audi should be responsible for remedying this dangerous situation.

The contact owns a 2008 audi a4 convertible. While the vehicle was stationary, the passenger seat heater malfunctioned and burned a large hole through the front passenger seat. The contact stated that the seat split at the seam. Later that day, while the vehicle was stationary, the front passenger seat spontaneously burned a second hole in the front passenger seat. The contact stated that the passenger seat on/off switch was in the off position during both incidents. In an attempt to correct the failure, the contact removed the fuse within the front passenger seat. Carousel motors (809 ia-1, iowa city, iowa 52244, (319) 354-2550) was made aware of the failures, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000. The vin was not available.

As i approached a stop sign on the morning of tuesday, february 18th i went to use the brakes and the pedal was extremely hard. It wouldn't press down at all. I ended up running through the stop sign and coasting in to a parking lot where i turned the car off and on a number of times and engaged the emergency brake. The brake was still hard every time. I called audi experiences and by the time i had explained what happened the brakes began to work again. (for 15 minutes the brakes did not work!) i continued to drive the car that day but at a cautious speed. Later that evening, around 8:50pm, i was driving home and again, the brakes refused to work, same hard pedal as earlier that morning. I called audi experiences and scheduled a tow pick up.audi services says that a vacuum hose has been damaged and causes the hose to collapse on itself causing the brakes to "lock up." they want to repair the same hose and use it again. It definitely needs replaced with a thicker hose that isn't going to collapse on itself and cause this to happen again.i believe this is a faulty hose and needs to be looked into. I have found a number of other people who have had the same issue happen to them. Luckily i was not hurt and didn't hurt someone else.

The contact owns a 2008 audi a4.the contact constantly heard a very loud squealing noise coming from her brakes.the dealer stated that audi uses semi-metallic material inside the brake pads and all their vehicles make the same noise when the brake pedal is depressed.the contact was more concerned of the noise, rather than the safety aspect.neither the manufacturer nor the dealer was willing to assist with the repairs because there were no recalls.the failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 20,000.

I recently purchased a 2008 audi a4 3.2l cabriolet. About 4 weeks ago, while driving, i noticed it sounded like one of my windows was open, as i could hear other vehicles driving by louder than normal. I tried rolling up the windows several times with no change in sound. All windows were up. Once i arrived at home, i did a walk around inspection of my car, and saw that my rear window was detached from the convertible top. There was no damage to the window or convertible top, just the glue/sealant had worn off (after only 2 years!). There was very little adhesive left on the top-center of the window. It was hanging on by about a 2" strip of adhesive. This trip home was 26 miles on the highway at speeds of >55mph. Had there been a little more wind or the need for evasive maneuvers, this window could have easily detached fully, and hit other vehicles. After doing research online, this is a common problem for this vehicle. The only audi dealership on island couldn't get me in for >2 weeks. Due to not wanting rain damage, or the window to cause a mvc, i purchased some silicone adhesive/sealant and put it back on myself. I can no longer put my top down without the window separating again.

Driving on interstate, light traffic, 65mph, 5pm, good but wet conditions.sun roof exploded! very very loud. Baseball sized hole in exact middle of sun roof with glass pushed outward (bowl shaped). No impact with rocks or anything else near by.no car in front but a car in next lane.dealer had not heard of such a problem. Cost was about $800 for replacement which warranty apparently did not cover according to dealer.

The contact owns a 2008 audi a4 with pirelli tires, line size 235/45r/17, the original tires since purchase. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning light would illuminate sporadically. The vehicle was taken to a tire service center where all four tires were inflated to the correct tire pressure but to no avail. The tires continued to lose air pressure without there being any damage to the tires. The dealer advised that the tire tread was extremely low at a rating of five. The tires were not replaced. The contact stated, based on her research that the tires were not recommended for the snow or extremely harsh weather. She was concerned with the safety of the tires with winter approaching. The failure and current mileage was 18,300.

All four tpms sensors need replacing along with new tires. Right side motor mount is leaking fluid, and wipers streak. 80,616 mileage. In 2012 i bought new tires, wipers and regular oil changes. I'm disappointed that now i'm faced with a leaking motor mount. I take very good care of my car, i shouldn't have these major repair issues. Audi has not provided a resolution to the defective airbags. They have not sent any information on how to get this fixed. They should do this asap to avoid any incidents.

I was driving on a parkway and moved into the left lane to pass and when i accelerated, the gas pedal stuck and would not release.the car continued to accelerate -- i braked to slow down however, the gas pedal was still stuck.after tapping on the gas pedal for about 10 seconds, it finally released.

The accelerator pedal got stuck to the floor and the car, a 2008 audi a4, began to accelerate. I managed to brake and turned off the vehicle. I manually had to pull the gas pedal off of the floor. I automatically went to the audi dealership for answers.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. Updated 11/20/14
