2007 audi a4. Consumer writes in regards to takata airbag inflator safety recall. *ldupdated 10/04/2017

2007 audi a4.consumer writes in regards to replacement parts not available to repair driver /passenger airbag recall notices.

This recall was issued in feb 2018. I had my car at audi, mohegan lake, ny for service in july 2018. Parts apparently were not available. I have not been contacted since for the repair. When calling 5/29/2019, i was told i would be put on a waiting list, which has appx 80 people on it. They could not confirm if i was already on from my july 2018 visit. This is dangerous and need a remedy.

Takata recall.the recall was in may and there still is no fix.

Takata recall. Tell takata (and audi) to get off their butts and get this problem fixed!it's been too long without a solution!

2007 audi a4.consumer writes in regards to remedy not available to repair driver frontal and passenger frontal airbag recall notices.

Takata recalli was first notified about my recalled airbags a year ago.i have contacted multiple dealers on multiple occasions, and am always told that a repair is not yet available.the last communication with a dealer was today, nov 11th 2017.how am i supposed to drive a vehicle that has airbags that can eject metal fragments that are stated to cause serious injuries or even death!?they need to have more urgency in this recall to avoid personal injuries or even unnecessary deaths!

Takata recall not performed for passenger side airbag.

Takata recall - audi has not yet made a fix available for my vehicle to address this recall. I fear for the safety of my passengers. Fortunately, no incident to report. I was instructed at vinrcl.safercar.gov to report the lack of a timely remedy.

Received airbag recall nhtsa 16v079 on april 2016. After almost 3 years of waiting for parts due to shortage the airbag was replaced on february 2019.on april 2019 airbag light came on. Dealer scanned vehicle and said was unrelated to the airbag which it was just replaced and wanted to charge me over $800 for a rear seatbelt tensioner.i didn't think they were being honest so i took the car to another non-audi dealer and they confirmed the airbag codes were related to actual airbag which was replaced. After a lot of back and forth and aggravation with audi, they decided to replace the airbag a second time on may of 2020 and airbag light went away.however, 5 months later on october of 2020 airbag light came back on.dealer now says the airbag control module is not good and wants to charge me $2,800 plus taxes to replace it.i feel they don't know what is causing the problem and are presenting me with a fat bill with the hopes i will walk away without repairing, this way they are off the hook from any obligations to repair the car or potential law suits in case of an accident.i am running out of options at this point.i feel the dealer and manufacture are not taking responsibility to repair an issue which started after the airbag recall replacement and now they want to charge me $3,000 for something i am not even sure it will work.is there a law that would protect the consumer from this type of situation? after all this was a recall.....what is my right at this point?

Takata recall.audi notified me in jan or feb of 2017.it is now nov 2017 and audi has no parts avail to perform the recall repairs.

Takata recall. 9 months following recall of front passenger airbag inflator, no solution yet available. This is unacceptable. Audi action code69p6

Purchased car from elk grove audi as a certified used vehicle.the seat broke and no airbags deployed.i was at a stop light with one truck in front of me also stopped.a chevy tahoe doing approx 45 mph hit me from behind, she moved over at the last minute so she did not hit me completely from the rear, she ended up hitting the back drivers sideand then down the side of the drivers side.i was pushed into the truck in front of me.one of the officers asked if we had purchased the car used since the airbags did not deploy.car was totalled - during the process of the settlement on the car the insurance company informed us that the car had been in an accident before.when we went back to audi about it, they claim they had no knowledge of the previous accident.the reason we do not believe that is because the mileageon the accident claim is exactly the same as one of the service visit to audi 5 days after the claim.

Takata recall.this concerns nhtsa recall number 16v382, manufacturer recall number 69o2.the website reflects that the recall date was may 27, 2016. I received notice from audi dated july 2016 advising me that "a recall repair is not yet available."as of august 24, 2016, the nhtsa website reflects that "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available."i am very concerned by the issue that led to the safety recall:that if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the passenger frontal airbag is designed to deploy, metal fragments could result is serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.this makes me very worried for my safety and for the safety of any passengers in my car.the airbag is supposed to prevent injury, not actually cause serious injury or death.i would like to know when a remedy will be available and when this life / safety issue in my car will be fixed?updated 02/01/17.

I have been waiting almost 2 years to have the takata airbag replaced but the dealer continues to state there are no airbags available, i've contacted a local car autobody repair shop and they do not seem to have dificulty obtaining replacement airbags. Why is my audi dealer not able to.i asked for a loaner car while my audi is sitting in the garage and they refused. Is this recall required or not? is this a dangerous condition or not?

Dealer didn't fix air bag

Takata recall: contacted audi that i plan to sell/trade this vehicle in next 60 days. Offer no support. Dealer says it is audi's problem. Recall lowers value of car but no solution is offered except to pass this along to next owner.

Takata recall.i went to audi melbourne fl 2 yrs ago and they said they replaced it...three months ago i got notification that it was not a permanent fix...i took it back to them on the 15 of may and since then the light on my dashboardsays that it is not working...it takes me 5hrs back and forth 2x and a day off work...i was told that they would charge me if it was not their problem...well the light was not going on before and i was told the was not permanent fix either...i have grandchildren that i take from school...this is disgusting at best...they said they would have someone bring my car to them and leave me without a car tomorrow...great how do i get to work...what is going on...what should i do!!!

Takata recallmy car has been on the recall list for over a year, and the dealerships near me still don't have replacement parts. I have no remedy or workaround, and can't take front-seat passengers anywhere without risking their lives!

Takata recalli have not received any updates from audi since may 2016. Checking the vin on audi's website, it shows that "repair solution pending" and not eligible to be repaired yet. No timeline for resolution provided.

Takata recall - it's been almost a year (may 2016) since i was notified that my front airbags needed to be replaced due to the takata airbag recall and i keep checking for updates and am told that my airbags can't be replaced until i receive another notification.i drive this car every day with passengers and am getting frustrated that almost a year later, there is still no replacement available.also, i've been reading that heat (especially in southern ca), humidity combined with older cars can exacerbate the situation and my car is 10 years old and i live in so cal.if there's any way that i can find a dealership to replace my airbags asap, i would appreciate it or at least have an update on the timing of a replacement

We currently have a car that is difficult to use and can not be sold.

Takata recall:i received a recall notice 12 months ago concerning a recall on my takata airbag. Although i've contacted the local audi dealer repeatedly over the last 12 months they continue to say that there is no "solution" for this recall yet. I'm nervous every time i get into my car and i believe that pressure needs to be brought to bear against audi to implement a timely solution.

Takata recall:audi has failed to develop a corrective action for the airbag recall.status keeps showing "unavailable."

Takata recall. Audi appears to be doing nothing much to repair the potentially fatal airbag issue. I received notice from them in the summer of 2016, coming up on one year ago. I've known people who had their takata airbags repaired in their hondas and accuras, etc. I don't think they waited more than a few months. Why the unreasonable delay on audi's part? how many more fatalities and injuries are to occur before they act?

I have twice 2016 and march 2017 tried to have my airbags repaired by the collection, miami and they never follow through or acknowledge my request. I would call their service user unfriendly and dysfunctional.what to do??? i just received another advice from you and will not waste my time registering my until someone acknowledges my request that the work be performed.

Takata recall: takata has not found a fix for this dangerous recall since we were notified in may 2016. My vehicle has not shown any signs of the inflation error thus far, but the recall states if the airbag does inflate, shards of metal can go flying and cause serious injury or death. They recommend not having anyone sit in the passenger seat until there is a known fix of the recall. This is a huge inconvenience and causes worry when driving the car. Almost a year has passed and this needs a resolution.

Takata recallthe driver airbag inflator was recalled in february of 2016 and the passenger airbag inflator was recalled in may 2016. It is now december 2016 and audi has no timeline on when the airbags will be replaced. I am forced to drive in a vehicle with serious safety concerns every day. This problem has not been remedied in a timely manner and is risking the safety of consumers such as myself.

Takata recall. I have been notified of a major safety defect that profoundly affects both the safety and utility of my vehicle with absolutely no timeline for when this will be remedied. This is unacceptable.

Takata recall. I'm driving a 2007 in the hot state of arizona. I can't even get my airbags replaced. After seeing accident after accident in our town of phoenix i feel it's no longer safe to even drive my car. What happens if i am in a major accident and the air bags go haywire? we've called all the audi dealerships and no one has the part and they keep saying to call back and check again in a few weeks. What am i supposed to do until then?

Takata recall: after receiving notice of the passenger side front airbag recall by finding out myself on the nhtsa site on feb 2, 2017, then received formal notice in march. Nothing else has happened since and no information has come since about when, if ever, a replacement airbag will be available. Ithas been very inconvenient to lose that seat since i won't allow anyone to sit in it until it is repaired. The communication and more important, action, needs to be stepped up significantly. I have followed up with the dealer since but they have no indication of any time frame for this to be fixed.

Takata recalli called to schedule a recall repair at my local audi dealership(fresno, ca audi/porsche) and they told me that they didn't have the part and that thy were not sure when a new one would arrive. So it's been about 4 weeks now since i talked to the audi dealership and i'm driving around with a faulty airbag in my car, this is a little scary. Knowing that if i got in a crash my passenger could be seriously injured or even die. All audi is telling me every time i try to call is, 'we still don't have the part, and we will keep you paperwork on our desk and call you when it's in'.well, i don't think it takes 4 weeks to get a airbag part in. Don't know what to do, because audi isn't working with me, and i'm concerned for my occupants safety.

Takata recall. I am still driving around with these unsafe airbags and audi has no estimate of when the airbags will be replaced. This is dramatically reducing the utility of my car, as i will not drive my family in it, and it's resale value, because nobody wants to buy a car with defective airbags.

Air bags did not work in a accident in 2010. Speed was approximately 25 mpg. Accident involved the right side front panel of the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop at a four way stop.received recall notice by audi march 2017.still no resolution to get airbags fixed.

Takata recall. I received notification of this recall several weeks ago. I am very concerned about the safety of the vehicle especially with the front passenger seat. This is a primary driving vehicle and needs to be in upstanding driving shape.

Takata recall:first recall notification (69n2) came in april 2016 for driver front airbag.second notification (69o2)came in july for passenger front airbag with the following: "audi recommends avoiding use of the front passenger seat whenever possible until the recall repair has been performed."seriously?! once can assume they recommend avoiding use of the driver seat as well.i believe waiting nine months for a repair is excessive, irresponsible and dangerous.

Takata recallthere is an airbag recall for my passenger side airbag that hasn't been resolved

A woman ran a red light heading east, my husband and i were heading north, the woman t-boned us the airbags did not deploy.audi says it was the "angle" of impact.i have police report, the collision shop, and the insurance adjuster all agree airbags should have deployed.

So i opened up the sunroof, took a long wire and started poking. I also removed the wheel arch and cleaned out the outlet. I poured a bucket of water thru and it came out of the bottom nicely. All well i thought. Today it rained for the first time since then, and i was very unpleasantly surprised to feel waterdrops dripping from the hood opening grip next to my feet. Since my car is always outside and not covered against the rain, i had to deal with it right away. I stripped the a pillar cover and saw it had serious water marks. Obviously the water had been dripping slowly for many months already. It just never got worse enough as you can see in the picture the green hose is the drain, and it has a brown stripe down the bottom from long time dripping. The leak seemed to come from all the way up to where it is connected to the sunroof drain pipe. I pulled it loose and the hose is fitted to the pipe with soft plastic connector. The connector slides over the pipe, but the hose is glued to it. Now the glue is exactly what caused the problem! the glue had gotten brittle and had cracked, it seems like audi used the wrong glue for this hose. I cleaned it , glued it back together and poured another bucket of water thru, but now while the lining was still open and the hose fully exposed. No drip at all! i must say, this problem was a very nasty one, it really bugged me very much to get water in the car, especially because it can do so much damage.attached is a picture where you see the roof airbag which was totally wet also. A picture where you see the green hose with the drip marks, and a picture which shows the left side of the dashboard with the fuse box exposed, if you look closely, you see the steel is rusted, since the sunroof water draining is a very wide spread q7 problem i would advise all owners to check the fuse box.

I purchased the car in 2013 the key was very difficult to turn in the ignition, after 3 months, it locked up one time in the garage so i just left it as it was and tried the next day.after yanking on the steering wheel and almost breaking the key in the ignition it finally started.a week later i was out shopping and it did the same thing - tow truck driver had no way of even towing the car because the wheels were cocked to the right, key would not come out of the ignition - the steering wheel was totally frozen. A mechanic came and got the wheel to move in turn allowed the car to start i had to leave the car in neutral with the key in it for weeks while we researched this issue. I called the dealer who sold me the car, they told me it was probably the ignition switch needed to be replaced - i asked them why this was not checked before they sold me the car they insisted it did not show up in the diagnostics for a certified preowned audi i took the car to mechanic.after 7 days tearing the whole steering column out they found the wheel locking mechanism and the key/ignition switch was broken also the airbag light would not go off.after more research the mechanic found reports on the faulty, ignition switch, airbag light and the worst the wheel locking mechanisms which some people had this happen while driving causing accidents.i could not find any recall info and this cost me a lot of money, time and anguish. Audi would not even perform the diagnostic on the car without an up front cost, also the airbag light would not go off after it was taken out and put back in it must be reset with a special audi tool and they charge for that as well. Seriously i am afraid to drive the car now because if this happens on the highway i could be dead from their lack of concern for safetymy audi is a convertible all wheel drive - should i take out a life insurance policy?

While driving my 2007 audi a4 three times over the course of the last month my car has died while driving. Once on the highway, once on a local road, and a third time in a parking lot. All three times audi claims that "no error code was recorded" yet the check engine light and electronics error light turns on. Because they can't replicate it or see an error they are refusing to do anything to help me other than test drive the car. What evidence do they want? would me in a body bag after my car quits on the interstate again be what it takes to convince them something isn't working?

On 6/10/2014, i drove my 2007 audi a4 a few miles to a local business and parked.on attempting to restart the car i found that the ignition key spun in the ignition cylinder assembly.it took approximately two minutes of spinning and light pushing for key the mechanism to reengaged, and the car to restart.during the time the key was spinning it was fully engaged with the lock, but spun in-place with the engine not starting.took car to certified audi dealer on 6/16 for diagnosis and the recommendation to replace the ignition cylinder assembly.contacted audi of america on 6/30 regarding safety incident.june-14 08:15:41 pm.

When driving my car has what is and should be a recall with the given number of complaints regarding this issue of "right or left dipped headlight."audi of america is quite aware but this is not just any recall this is a safety concern and like windshield and airbags should be looked into quite seriously.

Traveling on the freeway at 60mph. The esp(stability control) and epc lights came on. 5 seconds later the engine shuts off and i keep rolling at 60mph but decreasing speed. Luckily i was on a straight away and there was no need to turn but once the engine turned off the steering wheel was hard to turn and i could not pull over. There was an exit and i was able to stop on the off ramp. After putting the vehicle in park. I took the key out then, put it back on the ignition and tried to turn the vehicle on. The vehicle would not turn back on. When it finally turned on the vehicle stalled back off and the "check engine" light came on. After sitting in the vehicle for 5min in off. I then turned the vehicle on and it started off. I went to the dealership and told them what had happen they told me that it had never happened before with other audi's but that it sounded like it was the crank shaft sensor. After looking online and doing research many other audi owners had the same problem they stated that the "engine speed sensor" aka crankshaft sensor would go out and their engine would stall while driving. This is a safety issue!airbags go off when the engine shuts off and the steering wheel is hard to be turned. Please do something about it!

Oil leaks and electric malfucntions and engine oil leaks...lots of oil leaks even after repairs

After a stop light changed to green i started a left turn. Immediately the car started to "shake". It seemed like i was driving over some lane divider bumps. I noticed the engine light was on so i found a safe place to pull over. The car had to be towed. The dealership diagnosed a faulty ignition coil.( all four ignition coils were already replaced in 2010 because of a recall). Again i had all 4 ignition coils replaced. I also had to have spark plugs replaced; (possibly because of the faulty ignition coils ruining some of the plugs. The spark plugs were replaced about 20,000 miles ago.) i was told by the dealership that the original recall of the ignition coils did not cover this event. I feel there should be another recall for the ignition coils and include spark plug replacements.

2007 audi a4. Consumer writes in regards to issue with oil consumption. *ldthe consumer stated the oil return rings collapsed. The motor got hot and caused 3 holes in 3 exhaust valves. The manufacturer was notified.

Oil warning light came on. This is after a 75,000 mile checkup was performed (even though the car has less than 75,000 miles) the car petered out on me, had it towed to the dealership service where i was told it had a blown engine.

Excessive oil consumption.

This audi and many others suffer from excessive oil consumption. About 1 quart synthetic oil is used/lost every 1000-2000 miles.

I picked up my audi a4 a few weeks ago left the dealer went about five miles and the car starts miss firingbring it back for a new coil pack, one week later oil light came on low oil not even 700 miles and add one 16 oz of oil so started to park car in garage oil on garage floor lots of oil so far not very happy with the car. Bringing it to audi repair shop they said they will look for the leak. I should have come here first to see, what i see now i would not have brought something other then audi now waiting to see if it burns or consumes any oil if so should i call the audi dealer. I paid 9,850.00$

Extremely bad oil consumption the car uses a quart under 1000 miles and has received all of the updates with this problem that audi offers. This is a manufactures defect that plague many models and this should be recalled to assist the consumer before its too late.

Low pressure alarm came on and engine stalled . Mechanic told me the cam shaft chain is broken and that isfairly common occurrence and that audi does not have any maintenance schedule for the chain. There is several thousands in damage and serious injury could have resulted if thishad this occurred at highway speeds.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled as the check engine and battery warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine failed and the timing chain needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,000.

August 2010 at 30k miles, add oil light came on within 2,000 miles of last oil change. Took it into the dealership, they fixed pressure regulating valve. Add oil light continues to come on between oil changes, approx 1k to 3k miles. Dealership stated it was normal for that yr/model. May 2013 at 69k miles, white foul smelling smoke comes from exhaust upon acceleration and car drives rough. Happens intermittently. Dealership states no codes or problems upon test driving. June 2013 it happens again and this time needs to be towed. Dealer fixes fuel injectors. August 2013 happens again on numerous occasions. Dealer does oil consumption test. Fails test. Sept 2013 dealership replaces piston rings and cylinder head. Add oil light continues to come on and white smoke and shaking intermittently. Oct 2013 take back to dealership. They replace turbo. All of the above services done at no charge due to extended service contract. Dec 2013 it happens again. Dealership finds another leak in the valves. Dealership now wants to charge me 50% of repairs although problem started before warranty expired. Currently car is not repaired. It is drivable but continues to need oil every 1k miles or so and intermittently produces white smoke and shakes.

Excessive oil consumption a quart every 1000 miles or less.

Car started blowing white smoke and oil consumption increased to 1 quart per 500 miles.dealership replaced pcv valve, which should have been replaced under csc-10043026-6562.however, since the check engine light never illuminated, the dealership and audi refuse to cover this issue under the extended warranty, despite the fact that the defective part is specifically called out in their customer service campaign.

Oil leaks and electric malfucntions and engine oil leaks...lots of oil leaks even after repairs

From day one in august 2013 when i bought this car it burns oil at an extreme rate. A quart every 500 - 800 miles. Itcalls for synthetic oil by castrol which is close to $10.00 a quart. Do the math. The car manufacture say that is with in the specs for how engine was built. This is truly highway robbery and audi should be held responsible. I went on audi forums and thousands of people in the u.s. And the u.k. Complain of the same problem. Please do something about it. I as 50 years old and been paying taxes for 35 years. Working since i was 15 years old. Stand up and do something fora agency that was put in place to do so. I would greatly appreciate it. I look forward to your response.

I purchased a vehicle from better way auto sales on 10-31-14. After 2 weeks of driving, my check engine light came on. My odometer was also going up pretty fast, went from 89,000 miles to 93,000 miles in less than a month. My brake light was also on permanently even when i wasn't pressing the brakes. I bought it to a mechanic & he gave me a list of issues that was wrong with the car. I called the dealership where i purchased the vehicle from to make a appointment to bring my car in to get fixed. They gave me an appointment weeks from when i called. After having my car for a few days, they called saying my dealership warranty has expired so they can't fix it. I'm 100% sure i didn't drive 4,000 miles in 3 weeks. The dealership warranty expires after 90 days or 3,000 miles which ever one comes first. I also purchased a extended warranty which the dealership said my extended warranty don't cover the parts needed. The labor of everything is expensive that they want me to pay out of pocket. I suspect that there's some odometer fraud going on or some type of scam. I also feel as though the issues with the car should've been fixed before selling. They claim there was a safety inspection done on car but aren't brakes included in inspection? i have little knowledge when it come to things of this nature but i do suspect something wrong is going on with better way auto sales.

High pressure fuel pump failure resulting in damage to camshaft, cam follower and internal metal shavings from defect at 123,542 miles.

The oil light continues to come on. I've had it changed two weeks ago and today it appeared again. It was totally empty and once i filled it up the light went out. The car was jumping and making a hhumm like noise. I was told that the turbo part of the engine needs to be replaced.

2007 audi a4 avant.vehicle loses power when accelerating.the failure occurred each time i would accelerate in excess of 55 mph.to correct this failure a new camshaft, cam follower, and fuel pump were installed in the vehicle for a total of $1,749.97.

I have had to replace many coilpacks and diverter valves over the past two years.several were covered under warranty, but as soon as i was out of warranty i had to start paying for them.they break far too often and are far too expensive to not be covered by audi.

We've experienced several incidents of the engine semi-stalling. This has happened at varying speeds. While driving, the engine hesitates as if someone has suddenly stepped on the brake pedal. This occurred while the car was engaged in cruise contral and normal driving.

Since i bought my audi, i have had to put oil in it many times, and have been told this is normal for a turbo. I think that is crazy, and even an audi service man told me not all of the turbos do that. I have also had an issue with the car seeming to lose power and jerk about twice a month when i am usually around 70 mph. It's almost as if the ignition is turned off for 1 second, then it acts fine. This is very startling when it happens.

I was driving on the highway and felt an extremely hot drop fall on top of my foot while wearing sandals.the pain was so bad i had to stop on the emergency lane to see what it was.there was a brown oily substance leaking from where the gas pedal is right on my foot.i had a pink mark after i cleaned off and kept driving.got home about 15 minutes later and never felt it again.2 days later the same thing happened again, also driving on the highway and this time i almost crashed because of the burning sensation on my foot.once again it was the same oily substance.i went to my very trust worth mechanic and told me it was the heater core? immediately i knew it was expensive to fix.it's an 8 hour labor job.took it to audi and was told they have never heard of that happening on their cars, and seemed to blame me because maybe "i am not maintaining my car well" mean while i am on top of every little thing about that car. They want me to bring it for an inspection on this week, and they said they will have me speak with a service manager after.however in the mean time i am afraid to even drive it again. It was such an expensive car and to have to fix something like this should not be happening.also the fact that my foot has now been burn twice, this needs to be considered a recall.i almost crashed the 2nd time around and could have injured myself and many others.

Since i got the car, a4 cabriolet 2.0t, i've been adding oil approximately every 3000 miles. The dealer was courteous, and ran the oil consumption test when it's around 9000 miles. They advised it's within the normal range, and i should see improvement. Well, it's now 21k miles, and i am still adding oil every 3000 miles. The maintenance guide said to change oil every 10k after the initial oil change, but never mention the need to add oil every 2-3 month. How is it normal? i talked to other audi owner, and no one ever had to add oil before scheduled oil changes. I decided to file this complaint after i saw other complaints w/ the same the issue on the mycarstats.com.

Purchased the vehicle from mckenna audi in norwalk with 25,302 miles and oem warranty. The first issue was an unusual vibration from the engine at 29,761 mi. Audi of mission viejo claimed there was nothing wrong. At 36,120 mi, the transmission failed and was replaced. At 41,940mi, ignition coils were replaced after complaining of vibration/shuttering/hesitation. At 46,163mi, complained of shuttering/hesitation. Hose seals & timing belt roller were replaced. At 46,934mi, complained of same issues, audi of mv claimed there was nothing wrong. At 48,552mi, complained of burning smell coming from engine, rough idle and vibration. Cam plug and injector were replaced. At 52,811mi, the entire engine was rocking back and forth (have video). Circle audi of long beach replaced crank case & breather valve. Engine vibration/hesitation/shuttering continued after this repair. At 55,600mi, the vehicle suddenly without warning attempted to change into a lower gear (or park) while driving at 70 mph on freeway. This major mechanical failure could have led to injury or death. Vehicle was inoperable and towed to rusnak audi of westlake village, ca. The transmission was replaced for a second time, after less than 20,000mi. At 56,000mi, the car is now vibrating, shuttering, hesitating again (only 1,000mi on "new" transmission). It is displaying all of the same issues that led up to the major mechanical failure on the freeway. Audi of mission viejo claims it is due to a leaking/cracked motor mount and improper transmission calibration. As you can see, the same issues have been occurring since time of purchase, and despite minor repairs, the transmission always fails. I believe the vehicle is irreparably flawed and unsafe. Audi of mv has also been neglected. Audi of america (corporate) has been contacted. My request for a buyback due to the dangerous nature of this vehicle has been denied.

After leasing the car 2 months later i had to add oil to it.the engine burns oil like crazy. 1 quart of oil per month to month and a half.the engine oil warning light has come several times causing me to pull off the road into the closest gas station to buy some oil. Depending of when it happens, this has beensomewhat stressful.i have been told this is normal. I do not think so.if they had told me this, i would not have leased this car!

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4.while driving 20 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly accelerated.the contact removed her foot from the accelerator pedal and applied the brakes; however, the vehicle continued to accelerate.she pulled the vehicle over and turned off the engine.the vehicle was restarted after five minutes and the engine began to rev while in park.there were no warning indicator lights present.the vehicle was not inspected by a dealer.the current and failure mileages were 8,000.

Under normal driving conditions, the xenon headlights experience common failure. Since vehicle purchase, the headlights have failed to illuminate on multiple occasions. The error "left dipped headlight" appears on the dash information display. Dealer service requires replacement of either xenon bulb or xenon ballast as per audi tsb for issue.

2007 audi a4 - "left main headlight" error and left headlight goes out. Problem is intermittent. Dealer has replaced the headlight and still has the problem. Dealer says no errors are in the system, but i took a picture of the dash display with the error. The problem has been happening for almost a year, and frequency is almost every time i drive it. This is a safety issue because i randomly lose my front left headlight. Looking on the internet shows that it can happen to either or both headlights for many people. Please consider forcing audi to figure out the problem and recall these vehicles for a permanent fix. Thanks.

Problem with dipped headlight. Take vehicle to audi dealer on 07 jun 2011 for this problem. Dealer. They said didn't find any problem. And i was told to replace xenonheadlight bulb for $440.00.but warranty was extended on dec 2010. They did not perform replacement service. Now more frequently light went out. Every 1 min-5min

When driving my car has what is and should be a recall with the given number of complaints regarding this issue of "right or left dipped headlight."audi of america is quite aware but this is not just any recall this is a safety concern and like windshield and airbags should be looked into quite seriously.

I was driving on a highwaywhen i received an error message on instrument panel stating left dipped headlightwas out .low beams are now flickering when in idle and when in motion.

Front headlights flicker.happened early in the morning in the dark.this happens frequently.

Malfunction in 2007 audi a4 causes headlights to flicker, then go out completely, resulting in a "dipped headlight" error message on the dash board. Have to turn headlights off completely and turn back on the correct the problem. Fixing the problem is not covered under warranty and replacing bulbs and other parts doesn't seem to repair the issue for long.

Malfunction and failure of both xenon front headlights while driving vehicle. Lights consistently would flicker and then at two different times both headlights went out leaving the driver to pull over at a high rate of speed completely in the dark. Contacted audi to fix the problem and they would not do anything about it. Very dangerous safety issue when traveling at 75 miles per hour in a dark stretch of i70 and both of your headlights go out. If the weather would have been bad it could have been a different result.

The car engine stopped working while driving on the highway 280, lane next to the shoulder. I felt the engine stopped and was able to turn the wheel to get it over to the shoulder. I called aaa to tow it to the audi dealership in san jose, stevens creek.audi dealership preformed a diagnostic on my audi, diagnostic reads that the fuel pump, sealand fuel filter needs to be replaced .the dealership said that this is not covered under warranty as the history paperwork has repairs done for the same issues.i called the audi manufacturer and a rep named shy is working on my request to help resolve this issue as she seen hat there is a warranty for this issue. But, i called 2 prior times to the audi manufacturerand got the run around.

Highly common failure with the high pressure fuel pump(hpfp)and related parts in 2005.5-2008 audi a4 2.0t fsi engines.'cam follower' that is a buffer between intake camshaft lobe and hpfp located on the intake manifold.when part fails, it wears hole in buffer "cam follower" which results in excessive wear to intake camshaft and fuel pump piston and spring.no unusual circumstances led up to the failure.normal highway/city mix driving. Occasional fuel cutoff is the only hint that the part is failing, and only happens when driving is more spirited. -- http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/295208-faq-official-thread-for-your-cam-follower%28s%29.?highlight=hpfp+upgrade link is to a audi owner forum; this particular thread highlights the serious nature of the failure.failure in my case led to frequent fuel cutoff, particularly when trying to pass(when car shifts down to pass and thus resulting in the need for more fuel at higher revs) failure in my case caused me to have to replace the intake camshaft, cam follower, fuel pump and other maintenance parts at extensive cost (several thousands of dollars)according to link provided, failure can affect vehicle at any time, very few miles up to 70,xxx+ miles, modified or stock.no one is completely safe from this issue.audi dealerships across the country have been made aware that this is a common issue, but little help has been given to remedy the situation.camshaft revisions have been developed in order to address the problem, but are only installed when part has failed.new revision camshaft is prone to the issue as well, it does not solve the problem.just a poor band-aid. This issue goes beyond a maintenance issue, and becomes a safety issue when a vehicle is unable to utilize its passing abilities to avoid other drivers.fuel cutoffs lead to loss of power in motor thus making it a safety issue.*ln

The car engine stopped working while driving on the highway 280, lane next to the shoulder. I felt the engine stopped and was able to turn the wheel to get it over to the shoulder. I called aaa to tow it to the audi dealership in san jose, stevens creek.audi dealership performed a diagnostic on my audi, diagnostic reads that the fuel pump, sealand fuel filter needs to be replaced .

Upon reading of a high number of failures and excessive wear on those yet to fail with under 50k miles on them, i check the "cam follower" inside the high pressure fuel pump of my 2007 audi a4. Sure enough, it exhibits signs of excessive wear and well on it's way to failure - and expensive repairs and replacement parts. The dealership refuses to replace the cam follower, a $50 dollar part until it fails and causes damage to the engine's cam and high pressure fuel pump. Audi has issued a technical service bulletin on the problem. I only have 6 months of warranty to go. Upon failure, repairs are approx $1,100.00.

Fuel cut-off/surging when accelerating.engine is not throwing any engine codes; however, a loss of power is present when accelerating.this occurs every time i try to accelerate.this is a known issue with the cam follower and high pressure fuel pump on all 2.0t fsi motors from audi and vw.my cam follower has a hole in it (have the part) and the hpfp is worn down because it has made contact with the cam lobe, which has been scarred. Replacement requires a new cam, hpfp and cam follower.the design however will require constant inspection of the cam follower to avoid major engine failure.all 2.0 t fsi engines will experience this problem.audi has a tsb #2013147/4 dated june 18, 2007 that warns of this problem upon cel light being shown.my car never showed the cel light; however, had the other symptoms described and upon further inspection had a hole in the cam follower, with severe damage to the cam and hpfp.

2007 audi a4 avant.vehicle loses power when accelerating.the failure occurred each time i would accelerate in excess of 55 mph.to correct this failure a new camshaft, cam follower, and fuel pump were installed in the vehicle for a total of $1,749.97.

I have an audi a4 2007. Friday, march 5 i was driving to work and the car starting revving by itself, but slowing down at the same time. I was forced to put it in neutral and coast to the side of the road. Took it to the dealer, they said it was the fuel pump, replaced it. Saturday, i was the last car on an exit ramp preparing for light to change, but when i pushed the gas, the engine revved to 5, but would not move. Car was in drive position. While this was happening, a ford f-150 was heading towards the rear of my car, but swerved in time i assume after seeing my hazards on, which i did immediately. The truck barely missed clipping me. Finally, i turned the car off and back on, and it got up to about 20 miles per hour, enough for me to get off the exit ramp. This car burns oil through every 1200-1500 miles. Audi is aware of this problem, in addition to the ignition coil problems with this vehicle. I had 4 coils replaced, but only after i got the letter of the recall from audi. I was told the whole time the jerking of the misfired coils was 'normal'. I am not the only one who has had the same issues. This year of car is unsafe, and should be recalled to fix the oil consumption issues before the damage occurs to the engines.

Oil leaks and electric malfucntions and engine oil leaks...lots of oil leaks even after repairs

The turbo and exhaust system malfunctions consistently. This vehicle has been serviced multiple times at the dealer and never confirmed or fixed the problem. Now there is a burning smoke smell inside the car when it runs which causes headaches. Vehicle requires 1 quart of motor oil each fill up.

Audi a4 transmissions have a faulty trasmission component, which causes them to fail. Repairs are costly, and are not a guaranteed permenant fix. Driving around in a vehicle (known to the manufacturer)with a transimission waiting to fail is not only extremely unsafe - it's just bad business. Please help institue a recall for all audi vehichles with faulty cvts. A lawsuite settlement was announced in 2013, however, this only covers year models from 2002-2006. Clearly, the cvt transimission is still in production in audi a4s till this day. I drive a 2007 audi a4 with less than 100k miles and is less than 10 years old.my transimission went out on me while trying to reverse out of a driveway on to a highly populated city street, with a slight hill from oncomming traffic - i could of been slammed into from the rear.

The crankshaft broke while driving on a highway at constant speed.the incident immediately disabled the car which could have been a major hazard had this not been a manual transmission as i was able to apply the clutch and coast to a safe location.had it not been an automatic the car would have quickly coming to a stop in moderate traffic creating a significant hazard.previous model years of this car have had a similar issue, but this year was not included this is a manual car, that still has it's original clutch and the car has met all manufacturers maintenance.all maintenance on the car has been performed by an dealer.clearly this is a manufacturing or engineering defect that should be addressed by audi.

The transmission control module, a computerized part that could jam the transmission, is failing in my car, it's $3100 to fix including labor and material, but i feel it's a safety violation, especially considering the class action lawsuit covering 2002-2006 a-4 audis stemming from the same defective part.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle jerked and the rpm gauge fluctuated rapidly. The contact mentioned that the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the failure occurred constantly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on multiple occasions but the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,000.

We've experienced several incidents of the engine semi-stalling. This has happened at varying speeds. While driving, the engine hesitates as if someone has suddenly stepped on the brake pedal. This occurred while the car was engaged in cruise contral and normal driving.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4. While driving at 50 mph and pressing on the clutch, the vehicle would not shift gears. The contact called the dealership and was advised that the failure was due todriver error or wear and tear. The contact called the manufacturer who offered 25% off the repair costs. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 34,500.

The above listed vehicle was in an accident with extensive damage to the vehicle.the airbag on the driver side didn't deploy, which caused major injuries to the forehead and other body parts.the vehicle sustained major front end damage and it is unknown why the airbag didn't deploy.there were no warning signs of airbag being defective or needed to be repaired.

Seat belt tension systems on both passenger and driver side fail.they lock the seat belt but do not withdraw them.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4. Over the years, all the seat belts in the vehicle deteriorated to the point that the metal piece beside the buckle was sheared off and frayed the seat belts. In addition, the driver side seat belt would not buckle on numerous occasions and the front and rear passenger side and the rear driver side seat belts were progressing to the point that they were not working. The dealer stated that all of the deteriorated seat belts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4.when an object was placed near or on the buckle assembly of the driver-side seat belt, the seat belt un-latches.the dealer will be notified of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 18000.

As i was driving on the freeway, a car on the left side of me crossed over a solid line and attempted to make his way into my lane. He came within inches of side blinding me. I quickly jammed on my brakes, and beeped my car horn. He then swerved back into his lane. Fortunately for quick actions, this incident didn't result into an "accident." but what really concerns me is the fact that both seats in the back fell forward exposing my trunk! if my five year old was with me, he would've been sitting in the back and could have possibly gotten injured, as everything from the trunk including the seats flew forward. Please check if there are other complaints regarding this problem. I purchased this specific vehicle because of its high safety rating.

The carpet in front of my audi a4 driver seat detaches from the attachment post on the floor by the drivers door and bunches under the accelerator causing unexpected acceleration.the dealer basically told me just to be aware and re attach it when it comes off.this has happened to me twice.i avoided accidents twice by throwing it into neutral.

Convertible soft top back glass is falling out because adhesive failed.no warranty help and dealer quoted $3500.

The car goes thro high oil consumption, around one qt every 400 miles. The car also burns oil every time accelerating on a small hill- smoke comes out from the exhaust system. Cannot expedite or drive regularly. It seems that it needs piston rings replacement which was defective in the beginning but the previous owner did not care about it. The car has 115.000 miles.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4. The contact was driving 70 mph when the accelerator pedal was released and the vehicle accelerated without warning. The contact also stated that every warning light illuminated intermittently during the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired and the vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 72,000 and the current mileage was 81,000.

The accelerator pedal of my 2007 audi a4 convertible has stuck twice. Both times, i stepped on the brake and it released immediately, so i never reported it or asked the dealer to look at it. No resulting injuries, but obviously a concern-- perhaps toyota isn't the only make with this problem.

The contact owns a 2007 audi a4. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle jerked and the rpm gauge fluctuated rapidly. Gas pedal was stuck on full throttle on my way to work today.pedal was all the way down and rpm's were racing as i was pushing the brakes and trying to get onto the shoulder of the highway.very scary situation and i came close to a collision with multiple cars trying to get the car to a safe area.i was able to turn the ignition off, but the pedal stayed in the down position for over 2 minutes even with the car off.this was definitely not a floor mat issue and nothing was blocking the pedal.

I have two audi a4's, one a 2007 sedan and one a 2008 station wagon.both exhibit the problem.both have done it a number of times, mostly the sedan. When you need to scoot across opposing traffic making a left, sporadically, the car initially responds like you'd expect to the gas pedal, but half a second later bogs out with basically no acceleration, so you're rolling leisurely across oncoming traffic, and then about a second later it wakes up and resumes accelerating.i'm serious.both cars do it, largely turning left.i've told the dealership about it several times and they always say they checked the computer and couldn't find anything wrong.the audis are the only cars i've had with this problem.

Audi 2.0t 2007 (2 mos old)-after accelerating to merge onto the interstate, my car continuedto accelerate after release of the gas pedal and the rpms continued to increase. When attempting to brake, the car jerked back and forth and required forceful breaking to decrease the speed.i was able to put on my hazard lights andpull off the interstate. I was able to break suddenly, with continued jerking, put the car in park and turned off the ignition. With the car in park, i turned on the ignition, and once again the rpms continued to increase. The car was turned off and i examined the pedals to see if the mat was pushing on the accelerator, which it did not appear to be. While the car was turned off, i pumped the accelerator multiple times, assuming the pedal was stuck and then was able to turn on the ignition without the rpms increasing. No one was injured, but this was a very scary situation because i felt i had little control over the car.
