The vehicle was affected previously and confirmed fixed by audi under recall 69z4 for the occupant sensor. The airbag, seatbelt, audi presense error light will illuminate at times regardless of whether an occupant is sitting in the passenger seat going on and off sporadically while driving or stationary. The vehicle is eligible to be fixed under warranty, however it appears their original fix under the recall was not adequate in resolving the occupant airbag sensor light and poses a safety hazard to passengers if the airbag were to turn off while an accident occurred. After a recent diagnostic the codes that appeared are similar to what would occur prior to audi's "fix" to the recall.

Passenger air bag off light will illuminate while passenger is seated. Numerous error codes will flash on dash. Car on highway, in motion.after a few minutes, light will turn off and error codes disappear.

I purchased this vehicle for my 18 year old daughter as a parent you want to have you child as safe as possible.the vehicle is anything but safe. As a matter of fact it's an accident waiting to happen. Or worst a fatality.the vehicle while driving just turns off. It wasn't even a month into owning the brand new vehicle that issues started to arise. While reversing out of a parking spot, the vehicle stopped without any warning.about 4 weeks later, while entering the expressway, once again the vehicle without warning completely turn off. By a miracle of god my daughter did not get into an accident. A very dangerous situation as many other vehicles are driving at high speeds. On 3/31/17 the vehicle was take to the collection, where they could not tell me exactly what the problem was since they themselves had no clue. But they did tell me that there was definitely a problem since when they connected the vehicle to the computer it gave sporadic error codes. I was told that audi corporate office was contacted and they advised the collection to inspect the fuel system and hose, electrical wiring, and vehicle program all of which i was told was done. On 4/27/17 another incident occurred. While at a traffic light, making a left hand turn, the vehicle stopped. The vehicle behind my daughter was also turning right behind her and almost rear ended her since even the brake lights were not working t. In the middle of the traffic intersection, the vehicle was not responding to the shifting of gears or to the accelerator. At this point that vehicle was not responding at all leaving my daughter stranded in the middle of oncoming cars and agitated drivers around her. The collection had the vehicle towed back to their shop where it has been ever since. No one, not even audi's corporate head engineer has been able to figure out what is wrong with the vehicle.

Engine shuts off when car is in drive or reverse while vehicle is in motion and displays message of "start/stop system deactivated. Please restart engine manually. The yellow check engine light then appears. And the vehicle rolls away unless brakes are applied. This happened multiple times - 10 times in my car, 3 in my first loaner car and 6 in my second loaner car. The vehicle is usually in motion right after the engine is started and the car is driven for about 500 feet, after the car is going 3-5 mph the engine shuts off and the car will roll away. On other occasions when the car is stopped in traffic the engine shuts off and will roll away. Each time you must put the vehicle in park and restart the engine. On another occasion a pre sense malfunction occurred where the car slammed on its brakes in traffic and almost caused a rear end collision. The dealerships have no answers for the first part, but claim a bug on the sensors caused the car to slam on its brakes.

My car after starting (with engine either cool or warm) will stall at times when i'm going2-3 mph. I have stalled at intersections. I go to put my foot on the gas and the car will sputter and stall. It will then restart with a little difficulty though starts back up. There are no icons that illuminate on the dashboard with any problem. There are no check engine lights or battery lights that are going off.

2017 audi a3 sedan- with around 47,000 miles -stalled out in drive thru and at a red light intersection. Twice. Almost got in 2 accidents while driving once on the highway and once on a city road. Engine light on dash was blinking. Code reader initially was reading p0300, p0301 and p0302 .. Multiple cylinder misfires. Towed car to audi, and they did complete maintenance service. Ran codes and now all of the sudden it need a new transmission and the code is p0172 bank 1 system too rich. I noticed there was a recall for the the engine control unit (ecu) software and which can affect air / fuel mixturewhich makes me think that this recall was probably the cause, because po172 code can be due to the air/ fuel mixture getting too far from factory specs.my car has been at the dealership for 6 weeks, the transmission was finally replaced by audi but they are still saying that i need a new fuel canister (there was a recall for this in 2016, and my car was manufactured in 2016 but is a 2017 model) ? i have seen several other 2017 audi a3 sedanowner complaints having this issue with very similar problem on this website and other websites. I was under warranty until 1/25/2021,but i live 2 hours away and i was under quarantine so booked appointment locally (i think on 1/22/2021 with volkswagen but scheduling was a week out and on appointment date their entire service department was out because of covid outbreak by that time it was too late even though i have a time and date stamped video of the car having issues.

I will be driving and stop at a stop sign and when i go let my foot off the break to start driving again my car then spazzes and says please shift car into park and i am unable to dive my car and i have to restart it a few times to be able to drive again. It is ver scary because every time it happens i am in the middle of traffic and i can't move. It's always happened when i am at a light or a stop sign. It has happened a total of 10 times since i have had my car and when i brought it to audi they told me there's nothing wrong with my car

When driving off after starting the vehicle, the car starts jerking and 'knocking' and stalls/turns off. This happens almost everyday as i reverse out of my drive way and drive forward. Extremely unsafe! does not show check engine light or any other lights.

Both front daytime running lights (drls) fading to yellow color. The drls look like they are off when driving in the daytime. The led strip is also faded when headlight control is switched to on. Limits visibility in the nighttime. This condition occurs when the car is parked, in motion, and after multiple restarts.

I was refilling my fuel tank of my vehicle at gas station, but it kept clicking off with the back pressure as if the tank was full. I tried filling slowly to see if that would work, it did the same thing. . i left and on my way on the highway, a young man signaled me to pull over, i was hesitant, but did so. He showed me that fuel was draining from my car. Luckily , i did not have a fire as it was close to the muffler system. I got it to a nearby mechanic shop to see what was the problemit was not a burst hose nor a tank leak , however theyfirst thought it was the siphon hose that was blocked , it was not.they traced the fuel leak to the evap system and found that the charcoal canister was filled with fuel. And the car still would not take any fuel because back pressure, kept forcing the fuel out.upon seeing that they advised me to take the car to the audi dealer in coral spring florida. I did so and told them of the problem and asked if there was a recall on this problem. They said no. I pointed out to them that the 2016 audi a3has a recall that is exactly as what is happening to my car.recall # 16v647000 this was issued between september and october of 2016.they said that they would diagnose my car for $390.00 i ok"d that. This is their diagnosis: 1 fuel tank = s2654.00 plus tax/ssi am not in agreement with that and called to audi america and made my complaint, the young lady " morgan" took my complaint and made arrangements to call the dealership re their assessment and call me back. She called me with no real answers except to say that i have a right to a second opinion. I told her that i intended to do so and to make a complaint to your agency, and the ftc as this is a serious issue. She said it was my right.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

When the car is running and the transmission is in d/s and the start/stop engine button is pressed to turn off the engine, the transmission is left in neutral and the car can roll unimpeded. This is fully repeatable and appears to not be a fail-safe situation. Short video viewable here: https://goo.gl/photos/gupetk6csq6ic8hu8

The shoulder strap of the front seat belt is a few inches from my body when fastened. I am tall and skinny so this may not be an issue with other body types. The problem is due to a rigid seat belt receptacle that is tilted forward and fixed in place. Every other audi model has a flexible seat belt receptacle which allows the shoulder strap to fit snugly against my body. Only the a3 has this issue. I have the seat back as far forward as is comfortable.

The car purchased in dec 2016.when driving the vehicle when it was raining outside; drivers visibity reduced greatly, making the car unsafe to drive. Audi replaced the wipers but denied there was any problem!though, avoiding driving in the rain, i complianed to audi several times.it was in august of 2017, when audi finally admitted to me, they have a problem with the windshield. Their solution was to put some "film" on the windsheild"in my view, there should be a major recall on all 2017 audi a3 for windsheild replacement.does anyone know, how many accidents were caused in this vehicle due to poor visibilty?please investigate this matter.i truly beleive this is a serious problem.also, if a "film" is applied will that compromise the integrity of the windsheild in the future?whta if the film wears off, etc. My windshield cracked, the dealer says road debris caused it.
