Takata recall - audi and takata has not provided me with an option to either repair my car or buy back my car. My wife is pregnant and this is our only vehicle and to have audi say "drive carefully and wait" is unacceptable.

Takata recall:i received the attached notice from audi of america, inc., dated april 2016, and stating that my vehicle contains a takata frontal airbag inflator that "could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants."the notice states that replacement parts are not available.i recently serviced my car, and again the dealer informed me that replacement parts are not available.i called audi usa today and they said that takata has not made replacement parts available at this time and they have no timeline for supplying the parts.i am deeply concerned that a critical piece of safety equipment in my vehicle could itself cause me or my passengers "serious injury or death."i would appreciate it if someone would please advise when these replacement parts will be made available for this critical repair.thank you.

Takata recall.safety recall 69n2 - takata psdi-5 driver frontal airbag.i received notice of this recall in april, 2016.nearly 11 months later and audi's position is still that "replacement parts are not yet available" for my vehicle.the inaction by audi and the lack of enforcement by nhtsa is unacceptable, and places myself and my family in continuing danger.please work with attorney general jeff sessions to bring a civil action against audi to force compliance with the recall.audi's position, that there are no replacement airbag inflators, is clearly false, as audi continues to sell new vehicles in the us equipped with inflators.i suggest that nhtsa and the justice department seek an injunction barring audi from selling any new vehicles in the us until such time as they have fully complied with the recall, and replaced all the defective airbag inflators with replacement inflators that do not utilize ammonium nitrate propellants.

Hi, i have been getting emails from audi usa about n airbag recall for my audi a3 but everytime i call my audi dealership in santa monica, ca they say they don't have at the store to try another dealership, i told them to call when they have it and it has been three months and they still don't have it. I bought my car there and i guess their costumer safety is not important when they have to do it for free. Please help.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 audi a3. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 16v079000 (air bags). The contact stated that the parts needed for the recall remedy were still not available and that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall: my audi is on the recall list but audi has no fix available and can't tell me when they will. They offer to give me a break on a new car. I don't want another audi. I am meanwhile trying to sell the audi that i do have and this unremedied recall issue is making that impossible. Also, i never received a recall notice. I saw the recall information on a carfax report.

"takata recall"on march 18, 2017, i went in to audi calabasas and spoke with scott gomez, service advisor, and the manager on duty that day, to inquire on having my driver side airbag replace in response to the manufacturer safety recall issued.his response was to try back later.he said he did not expect for any bags to be available for months. He did not seem concerned.i said i was afraid of the danger of it going off in a minor fender bender and he said there were no reports of audi vehicles experiencing such mal-functions. I asked if he was not concerned about the liability should one such accident occur involving the recalled airbag.his response was chilling.he said it would not be audi's fault. It would be the manufacturer of the airbag's liability.

I keep getting recall notices, month after month, for about 6 months.i had the interim repair done, and have called now at least three times and they keep telling me the part is not available yet. Now i get a notice that says to repair immediately even if an interim repair was recently done. How do i get this done? i keep calling and they keep telling me there is no parts available yet.my son is driving this car now in springfield, il and i am worried about his safety.

When asking for a recall repair to the dealership, this is the message i received:good afternoon, "we received your inquiry to setup an appointment for your audi a3 for the airbag campaign. Unfortunately, parts are not yet available for us to do the repair. You will be receiving a second letter from audi sometime first quarter of next year on when the repairs can be done. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thanks,"is this an acceptable answer? i don't think so.

The recall 16v079 seems pretty serious as people have been killed by this defect.i have called audi customer service multiple times and they are unable to provide any updates or date. This is simply unacceptable.please let me know if you can assist or what i can do to accelerate this process.thank you.

Takata recall. When will this be addressed for my vehicle?

Takata recalli am still receiving notices by mail but nothing has happened yet. I contacted my local audi dealer and they still don't have the parts to replace my airbag. How much longer can wait without putting my family's life in danger.thank you

"takata recall"recall is out since beginning of february 2016;i received recall info in april 2016;until today (9 months) there is still not even a date for remedy available.this is totally unacceptable and audi is not taking any actions to reduce/avoid the risk of serious injury. South carolina is climatewise high-risk area, but nothing happens.

Takata recalli received notice in january of 2019 that my vehicle was having a second recall on the takata airbags. I immediately attempted to have the repair done at my local dealership; i could not get through. I then contacted audi corporate, who said they left the local dealershiop messages on my behalf; again no response. After calling multiple other dealerships in my state, one a little over an hour from me actually replied to my messages. It took until june to get this recall completed. Neither audi usa nor it's local dealers seem to care about performing a safety recall in a timely manner.

"takata recall"recall i received if from february 2016 (over 1 year!!!) and i still do not even have an information when it is planned to be fixed.

I was first notified of the air bag recall in february 2016.after waiting almost a year, audi has no idea when my air bag will be replaced.my car is unsafe to drive and unsafe to sell to another party.i need waiting one year is plenty of time.

Takata recall. Been waiting 8 months for this part to be replaced and i want to know when it will be available?

Takata air bag communication from audi indicates a recall is in progress but according to their website there are no replacement parts, or schedule date to make repairs to the car.they should make an arrangement for alternative transportation while sorting out the issue.this is ridiculous, and dangerous.who wants to use a dangerous car?

The check engine light illuminated and has not been able to properly diagnose. More than one mechanic has told me the code p0171 that reads as the diagnostic does not correlate with my car as my car does not have a pcv valve. They have inspected the car to look for similar issues and have found none. Yet the check engine light remains illuminated. There was a recall reported 09/30/2009 on my type of car under campaign 09v377000 but my vin is not showing as affected by that campaign even though the code that is coming up is a similar issue. I am extremely concerned about the safety of driving my car now. I can't not repair what i can not diagnose. I believe that i am affected by the recall.

The contact owns 2008 audi a3. While driving approximately 30 mph on normal conditions the vehicle stalled without warning.the engine restarted and resumed operation. In addition, on a separate occasion the vehicle exhibited an unintended increase in acceleration. The failures occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing on three occasions for the identical failures. The technician was unable to duplicate the failures. The vehicle has not been repaired for the malfunctions. The failure mileage was 7,000.

As i was accelerating upward onto the highway ramp the vehicle stalled and jerked for about 3 seconds. It stopped for aboutapproximately 7 more miles until i got off the highway. It occurred after the stop i made after i left the highway.

I have an audi a3 2008 with dsg transmission. I drove it on vacation from columbus ohio to nh about a 15 hr drive. When i was in stop and go traffic the rpm's would dip as i would apply the break causing the car to nearly stall. Every time this happened i had to react quickly as to make sure not to hit the person in front of me. When i would let off the break the car would surge forward causing me to abruptly have to hit the break. I took it to audi and they claim that in hot weather this happens and is a side effect of the mechatronic control unit of the vehicle but that it is not significant enough to replace the unit until it actually fails. This seems to be a huge safety hazard considering i feel like i am taming a wild stallion on the open road. This must be fixed immediately. Help!

I have an audi a3 2008 2.0 model that was purchased new in 11/07.i started experiencing a hesitation with the transmission a few months ago.basically, from a rolling start in 1st gear, there can be a jerky action with the car. I don't think this is turbo lag because i can hear the clutch trying to catch onto the gear.on top of that, when i slow the car down (i.e. 40 mph to 0 mph), i feel a jerk every time the transmission downshifts.to my passengers, they feel as if i am slamming on the brakes and then releasing the brakes sporadically. A few online posts tells me that this is possibly a defect with the mechatronics unit and that if not replaced as soon as possible, it could cause serious damage to the transmission.

While driving at highway speeds the transmission shifts into neutral loosing the ability to power the vehicle almost causing a multi-vehicle crash.the dealer reports that it is the s-tronic transmission control box causing the issue.the incident has happened twice now with the second time with a near miss almost causing a crash.this control module failed in our vehicle at 34,000 miles (estimate) covered under warranty and now again at 83,000 miles.i have contacted audi and i am not receiving any assistance for an issue that is clearly a safety item - loosing power at highway speeds which could result in a serious accident with a fatality or injury.this vehicle should have been included in the recall to replace the module with a known good module.instead, it appears that the first module replacement did not include whatever fix they had done.we are concerned for our safety in driving this vehicle since we transport our young children in it.

From a stop, or slow speeds, transmission was lurching w/out an apparent pattern.

Dsg transmissionharsh engagement and banging bucking when starting from stop or in reverse also when engaging form park. Will go into neutral and bang/lurch forward or back when it engages making it very difficult to park and pull out into traffic. Dealership could not repair until tsb for mechatronic released. New unit cured problem for aprox 15k miles now back and getting progressively worse. Dealership advised to "wait until it got bad" to bring it in sine they did not know what fix was. Brought back in at 47k miles and they re-adapted transmission and it got worse. Technical support told them to order another mechatronics (2nd replacement) as they did not know what else to do. Waiting on part now.

My 2008 audi a3 2.0t dsg (direct shift gearbox) has been having abrupt shifting and hesitation.the three main times issues occur are:1.) moving from a stop, either in forward or reverse.with light throttle input, similar to in parking situations or slow moving stop/go traffic, the car/transmission feels like it's not engaged and then suddenly engages and lurches forward/backwards.this is when i feel the car is most likely to cause an accident.2.) when slowing down to a stop (such as at a stop light/sign or for traffic), there is an abrupt thud which appears to be when the car is downshifting automatically into 2nd gear.this feels like it's doing damage to the car.3.) when slowing down, followed by mild acceleration (such as when turning right/left onto a perpendicular street without requiring a stop), the car hesitates, then revs very high (appears to choose too low of a gear), immediately followed by going into the "right" gear.this is alarming to driver/passenger and is annoying and distracting.i brought it in to the local dealership and they said it is the mechatronics unit, however there's no recall for my car so they just gave me the car back and said "call back in a month, maybe then there will be a recall".

2008 audi a3 with 2.0 engine and 6-spd auto dsg gearbox.during summer of 2009 started having problem in which from a stop (red light, etc.), when letting off the brake and giving it gas it would hesitate for 1-2 seconds before finally jerking or lurching (somewhat violently) into gear.sometimes it would jerk twice.also the downshift from 2nd to 1st is somewhat rough.the problem is still present but not as bad, however it seemed there was a strong correlation between how hot it was outside and the symptoms being worse.took it to cutrubus audi in layton, ut at end of summer, they said there was no problem, that how it was shifting was normal for the dsg.just got a letter from audi of america that they are developing a way to diagnose faulty mechatronic units (which causes jerking) in late spring of 2010, but i don't want to wait that long to have this problem rectified.will be trying a different dealer soon.

Direct shift gearbox (dsg) transmission started jerking when starting from a stop.second to first downshift would be severe with a loud "clunk" from the dsg.went to dealer and vehicle was diagnosed with a faulty tcu(mechatronics module).part is on backorder and will take over 1 month to get in.was told that vehicle is okay to drive but with the uncertainty of reliable performance and potential damage to other transmission components i don't agree.have researched and found many other audi and vw owners with this same problem and similar experience with significant delays in getting the replacement part.apparently vag is focused more on producing new vehicles than making sure the vehicles already on the road are operating properly.this company has no concern for customer service once they have your money.

When feathering the gas pedal through traffic, the car surges/lurches trying to find gear. Also, there are times when pulling out of a side street or taking off from a red light, when pushing on the gas pedal, all of a sudden it seems like there is no power. We bought the car in early '08 and the problem randomly started towards the end of '08. At that time we thought it may have been just bad gas. It seems the problem is getting worse and more frequent as of late. Reading forums and articles online, it seems to be the symptoms of the transmission which is a dsg/s-tronic transmission. At this time, the dealer is stating nothing is wrong with the transmission. I own another car with the same transmission, and that seems to have none of the above problems.

2008 audi a3 3.2 dsg:transmission would drop violently forcing a reduction in speed. Pressing the accelerator sometimes would not let the car accelerate...engine revolutions would not rise. Difficult to maintain a safe speed consistently. Taking two both dealerships in miami-dade county (the collection and prestige). The service eventually did nothing to the car. Audi would not honor any service without ecm logged errors. I saw a recall investigation on later model cars, but a continuing investigation on cars including my model year for the exact symptoms i have experienced. This has happened several times and without notice or the ability to recreate at will.

When in traffic the car lurches forward without any input from driver. The car bucks back and forth, almost like the car is stalling. On a hill, if you take your foot of the brake, the car begins to roll backward - flooring the gas pedal causes the car to stop rolling backwards.

Since purchase as a cpo in early 2009, my 2008 audi a3 and its dsg transmission have exhibited irregular and dangerous shifting behavior.the transmission surges unpredictably at low speeds, particularly in 1st or reverse with brakes off and little/no gas.this low speed surging behavior is dangerous in stop-and-go traffic as the car often unpredictably jumps towards other vehicles.also on several occasions the transmission has completely dropped out of gear and failed to re-engage for approximately 1-2 seconds.on one occasion, this pause occurred during a left hand turn across opposing traffic and nearly caused a collision. In summer 2010 audi replaced the mechatronic unit under warranty and reflashed the dsg.this fixed the issues for 1-2 months, however the problems have since reappeared.it's seems clear that this line of transmissions have persistent and possibly dangerous problems.

I have a 2008 audi a3 2.0t dsg. My problem is with the dsg. While sitting at a stoplight i will lift off the brake to go, the car will lurch forward and the transmission will disengage. I then must wait a few seconds for the transmission to re-engage. This can be a problem if there are people behind me. I have been nearly hit on a few occasions. This problem is random and the dealer service tech's have not been able to replicate it to their satisfaction. The car did not do this when i bought it brand new.

Excessive rear subframe corrosion that isn't being covered by a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty. The safety issue stems from; a, a proper alignment isn't possible, b the rear subframe is responsible for maintaining the rear geometry of the vehicle, wheels, brakes and suspension.

I have a suspension problem with my audi a3 that has cupped the tires to the point of destruction.

Premature wear of tires and excessive noise from tires when vehicle is moving.
