An in-tank fuel line between the fuel pump and filter is missing hose clamps causing fuel pressure lose and erratic engine performance. Stalling and sputtering during maneuvers in traffic can be being very dangerous on a motorcycle or any two wheel vehicle.this problem effects 2007 through 2008 aprilia scarabeo 500ie and earlier year models.thus far dealers have corrected this under warranty on a by complaint bases. Most of these failures have occurred in the first 1000 miles. An obvious design flaw. I feel the manufacture should have a recall on this problem.

2006 aprilia scarabeo scooter, 88 miles on odometer. Loss of fuel pressure at idle.stall at idle. Rough starting.dealer replaced faulty submersible fuel line, attached clamps to each end where there were none before. Immediately fixed the issue.aprilia covered this under warranty.this could present a dangerous situation for other owners.

This report pertains to a 2006aprilia scarabeo 500 motorcycle.i bought the motorcycle new in june 2008.it is common knowledge among scarabeo owners that the manufacturer sold these bikes with clamps missing from the in-tank fuel line, between the in-tank filter and the fuel pump.my dealer assured me that this issue had been resolved on my bike before i took delivery of it.within days of taking delivery of the bike, the engine was idling roughly, stalling at stop lights and running roughly when operated at slow speeds, below 35 mph.on several occasions, i applied power to start off from an intersection and the bike stalled.these were all symptoms of the fuel line clamp issue, as reported by many scarabeo 500 owners.i fixed the problem myself because i do not live near an aprilia dealer.upon removing the in-tank fuel pump, i immediately noticed that there were no clamps on either end of the fuel line.i installed the clamps, as well as replaced the fuel line with line approved for submerging in fuel (sae30r10), as it was unclear as to the suitability of the stock fuel line for submerged use.since the fix i have not had any recurrence of the problems.this is a safety issue and the manufacturer should recall all scarabeos and have them checked.

An in-tank fuel line between the fuel pump and filter is missing hose clamps and improper fuel line for usa fuels causing fuel pressure lose and erratic engine performance. Stalling and sputtering during maneuvers in traffic can be being very dangerous on a motorcycle or any two wheel vehicle.this problem effects 2003 to 2006 aprilia scarabeo 500gt and 500gt abs models, also 2007 and 2008 aprilia scarabeo 500ie model .

Vehicle had an irregular, low idle, stuttering, lack of power and was very difficult to start.sometimes the vehicle's engine would die at intersections while idling. The engine stopping at intersections is dangerous and could cause an accident or death.upon investigation, i realized that the electric fuel pump hose inside the fuel tank was leaking therefore not supplying the appropriate pressure to the injector.i purchased a new submersible fuel line and two hose clamps and replaced the leaking oem fuel hose.
