The contact owns a 2021 alfa romeo giulia. The contactā€™s son was driving approximately 65 mph on the freeway when the transmission erroneously shifted to neutral and the vehicle would not accelerate. After stopping and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as normal and the failure was no longer present. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who indicated that a transmission software update was needed to prevent the failure from recurring. The software update was performed however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,000.
