My wife lost control of our 2006 acura tsx and hit a concrete barrier head first at approximately 50mph. The airbags did not deploy. Both frame rails were bent and everything at the front of the car was pushed back towards the engine. The fenders were bent, the bumper was destroyed, the doors didn't open and close properly. My insurance declared the car a total loss b/c of the severe damage. Despite the severe accident, the airbags failed to deploy. My attempts to contact acura and get a response from them regarding the matter has been unsuccessful. They just said "the car determined they weren't necessary" and blew me off. Their response is not appropriate to me, especially since my wife sustained neck and back injuries as a result of the crash.i want to find out what happened, and make sure other vehicles out there are safe b/c this could happen to anyone. Safety features should be functional.

My power steering hoses have been leaking and now there's fluid down under the motor and under the car.. The car will not hold power steering fluid but for one day and my car is now become undrivable. I see there was a recall but i did not receive the recall notice and started looking online and saw that actually i have experienced the same problem but now it's gotten to the point where it's worse than just the hoses. I've tried to get it fixed and they say no you're not included in the recall i have all the problems that were stated and now it's become exacerbated. I need help immediately.

Power steering has been affected due to defective rack and pinion.car pulls to the right and poses a safety issue on highway.steering has also locked up due to the power steering leak while driving.a very frightening situation when going faxt speeds.also, the front passenger airbag started cracking a few years ago and am questioning weather it would deploy in a collision.

Side curtain and seat airbags deployed while driving on highway with no impact to car.

This 06 acura tsx car has a problem with the interior lighting above the rear view mirror, not working properly. Lights will not work most of the time but will come on, on their own uncommaneded and drain your car battery.this push for on lights cannot be determined if they are commanded on or off. I know two more cars years 04 to 06 with this same problem.

Horn works intermittently.$700 to pull and replace an airbag to replace a 45 cent switch is an absurdity.hey, honda/acura...who do you think you are with that sweet sh*t, gm?

The contact owns a 2006 acura tsx. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the power steering pump around the hoses leaked all over the alternator and caused it to fail. The power steering pump and alternator were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 144,000.

First off i am unable to lock and unlock my passenger door using the switches or the remote key fob on my 2006 acura tsx. After researching on the nets i see that this doesn't just apply to me and that this is an issue others have had. The dealer stated it is the actuator. Secondly i am having an issue with what the dealer service stated is a rack in pinion issue. They say it needs to be replaced due to power steering seeping/leaking and that this would be the reason for steering problems. Again on nhtsa this seems to be an issue with this model year. I notice vibration and slight pulling to right when driving and drops of lubricant in my garage. When i reach excess speeds of 55 i have the pulling and vibration. I now mainly take side streets due to the hazard and no funds to fix this issue.

1st incident: the front brakes went out. I had them checked twice before the dealer replaced them. They reported they were low but blamed it on me. I complained in the beginning when i couldn't stop, and skid into intersections at red lights some times barely missing the cars in front of me. The dealers all said it was the way i was driving the car. I haven't driven this car any different from my previous cars that didn't have abs. I've owned several new cars so i think i know how to drive a car properly by now. I've never worn down any brakes in my car inside of a few months of ownership. I have replaced front brakes on many of my cars once a year which is normal. This one shouldn't have been any different. There was clearly a problem with them in the beginning. 2nd incident: the engine light was coming on for no reason at 20,000 miles. The car didn't need to be serviced but the dealer was unable to determine why it was coming on. 3rd incident: the battery failed twice in one year. I owned a mazda that the battery failed on and it only happened once. I owned that car 5 years and never had another problem with it after that. I find this odd that the battery failed twice. 4th incident: some times the car didn't start, there was nothing wrong with the alternator or starter. I assumed it was the battery again. When it was running it would hesitate to move or would jerk while in motion. 5th incident: the driver seat belt would constantly jam preventing me from putting it on or adjusting it while on. While i was driving it would get so tight that i couldn't release it no matter what i did. I had to pull over and take it off in order to release the taught pull across my chest. I had to struggle with it for several minutes to get it on every day. This was from inception of ownership until i finally had it repaired not realizing it was faulty. Every other problem i have had over the years was not safety related that i'm aware of, and i've had many others since. Updated 06/07/10

The contact owns a 2006 acura tsx. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to nhtsa campaign number: 13v093000 (engine and engine cooling, electrical system). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and confirmed that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 128,241.

The accelerator pedal binds, the engine doesn't not quickly return to idle after the pedal is no longer pressed, increasing the risk of a crash. The vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 124, accelerator control system.

Actuator malfunction - passenger front door.cannot be unlocked or locked electronically. Passenger door is rarely used and car has under 50,000 miles.

The drivers side door locking mechanism has failed and the remote and the key both won't work. I couldn't get into the car. The remote key failed a few months ago. Apparently the mechanism in the door is the issue and i have scheduled to get the door repaired this week. The total will be about $150. I can't lock the door anymore because i am worried that the door won't open back up and i won't be able to get back into the car.

Newly purchased (approximately 1000 miles on odometer) 2006 acura tsx 6 speed manual shift was parked on slight hill in neutral with parking brake on. After being parked there for some time parking brake failed to hold vehicle and vehicle rolled backwards down driveway striking tree. Damage to trunk occurred. Dealer checked parking brake and advised brake adjustment within specified parameters nothing wrong.checked same after return from dealer, parking brake held on hill until brakes cooled and vehicle was able to be moved with minimum effort. Now parking with vehicle in gear and parking brake on.

Squeaky drivers seat on brand new 2006 acura tsx automatic transmission with 200 miles.

Driver's side seat rails squeak badly. Acura needs a tsb to get this problem fixed quickly. Should not have this problem on a 3 month old $30,000 car. Check acurazine website under tsx forum- squeaky drivers seat and notice how many people are reporting his problem.

Drivers seat squeaks and creaks when weight shifts.this is most noticeable when making left turns.there are 7 pages of owners on an acura tsx owners website that also experience this problem.many have taken it to their dealer and either the seat base or rails are replaced or tightened.some dealers mentioned that these were either aligned improperly or are not strong enough to support the weight and they either bend or shift.in many cases, the fixes the dealers performed did work and the noise returns soon afterwards.while this is quite possibly not a safety issue, it is a build problem with the redesigned 2006 tsx.the seat system in this model year is new due to the addition of the power-adjustment mechanism.a $28k car should not have squeaks and creaks.

Re 2006 acura - letter from constituent requesting assistance in filing a criminal complaint against the parties involved in the matter. *ldthe consumer stated the vehicle was fraudulently sold. The vehicle appeared to have been in an accident that was reported, the brakes would squeak, and the codes were cleared before being sold.

When applying firm pressure to the brakes, it responds with a series of rapid vibrations and concomitant clicking noise. I never feel a solid and responsive breaking system.this occurred when i was attempting to slow in ice on a side street in 06 at which time i called acura to complain. A few days ago, i attempted to avoid hitting the car in front of me while i was rolling after releasing my break from a full stop, so not even any mpg's. This was on a side street, and i don't remember the exact date. It was probably in september 2019.luckily there was no damage, but i worry that my brakes will never be there when i need them.

I am the original owner of the 2006 acura tsx. Ever since the first date of purchase, the front and rear brakes pads were not always strong enough to stop the vehicle.i always have to push down the brakes hard in order to stop.i do not usually drive the vehicle in the snow. However, in april 2014, i was driving the acura tsx in a turn on a 15 miles per hour under snow condition, and i pressed the brakes hard.the car took too long in distance to brake, as a result, the front bumper and both front wheel rims were damaged as the car hit the curb. The incident resulted due to the weak braking system.

The contact owns a 2006 acura tsx. While driving 35 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the power steering rack was leaking fluid from both sides and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Drove the car about 35 miles from home, as i was parking heard a noise while steering left and right. Within a few minutes, the steering was hard. Drove it home by the time i got home the steering was no longer working. Checked steering fluid.no more fluid. Totally dry. Brought it to the midas and and to dealer and was told the steering rack is leaking, $3000.00 to repair. They said the rubbers on rack went bad. A few people ( mechanics) that said this is not normal for a 2006. I have found that this seems to be a major issue with acura 2006 cars.

The power steering pump leaks, and i have to replace it. My brother also has a 2004 acura tsx and his has the same problem. It leaks from the power steering. I believe this is a faulty on most tsxs.

Started the car pulled off at slow speed(15-20). Car started making noises are i turned the corner. Appeared to be noises made for power steering. Parked the car up put power steering fluid in and the noise stop. Driving again the noise appeared again. Took it to the mechanic found out that the rack and pinion went bad.

My vehicle's steering wheel makes a moaning noise when the steering wheel turns left or right a low speeds. The acura dealer replaced the cable reel inside the steering wheel hub but the noise continues. I am afraid this noise is an indication that something inside the steering wheel will wear out eventually and cause loss of vehicle control.

Going around a turn my valet key on my key ring was lodged into a screw hole in my steering wheel causing my key to come out of my ignition and turn off my car. I was about to go into a curb but i was able to use my brakes.

First the power steering pump leaked and was replaced. Now i'm told the rack and pinion is leaking and needs to be replaced

After purchasing the car from a used dealer. The steering became very hard to turn as i was leaving a local retailers parking lot. I took it back to the dealer who assisted in getting the power steering fixed and now the car is starting to do it again. The steering is making funny noises and now is becoming hard to turn to the right. I fear the need to take it to the auto shop again. This is terrible!

I started my acura tsx 2006 as usual and went to the store 3 miles away but when i started the car after the store to go home first i heard a noise and after that it became almost impossible to turn the car left or right. I was lucky to get home without accident.

The contact owns a 2006 acura tsx. The contact stated that the power steering fluid was leaking. In addition, the vehicle overheated.

Power steering rack failed unexpectedly.car developed a noise without any warning, and the steering became hard to turn.made it to the repair center (dealership) without any problems, but the steering wheel was really hard to turn by the time i got there (with a drive no longer than 10 miles).looking at online forums, it appears that an abnormal number of people have needed power steering racks between 90k-130k miles due to leaks.this appears abnormal, as my understanding is that a rack should last for the life of the car.this makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the power steering leak tsb that acura has for these cars.

Rack and pinion (steering rack) leaking. Multiple acura tsx from 2004-2008 will most likely run into this problem. Seen a few complaints on social media from various acura tsx owners from 2004-2008 models. Very high cost to replace and dangerous if steering rack fails. Bought from dealership a few months back at 111k miles, now at 115k only.

Power steering pump failure approximately 2 years ago, replaced.shortly after, alternator failed and i was told this was because of being saturated with the fluid from previous failure.now this...wife was driving car home with my 3 year old daughter.suddenly the car became extremely difficult to turn and the steering wheel would 'wobble.'this was a dangerous situation but my wife made it home slowly.i immediately checked power steering fluid and reservoir and it was low.filled it up with leftover honda fluid and leaked immediately from the driver rubber boot near rack and pinion.rack and pinion now needs replacement from a massive leak.this is becoming a common occurrence and placing many in a dangerous situation while driving.

I recently experienced a complete failure of the power steering rack due to a major leak of fluid to the point i couldn't move the steering wheel. Thank god it happened right after i got home from driving on the highway.just when i pulled to park in the driveway and found out the fluid in the reservoir was completely drained and empty. I added new power steering fluid and within an hour it leaked all out. Took it to an independent shop a few days later due to the holidays and found out the rack and pinion needed to be replaced due to the breakdown of the seal on both sides. A week before this happened, i took my car on a 1200 miles road trip. I consider myself lucky that it didn't break down while i'm driving on the freeway as the result could have been fatal. Contacted acura client service manager and i was told there was a recall issued for the power steering but it was for a different part, a hose, and that my request for reimbursement for a different part would not be covered. Even though in my opinion this is the same safety issue from the same component, the power steering. I questioned the logic of the manager's reason for denial as the bottom line is the safety of the person driving the vehicle should the power steering fails, regardless of which part within that component was recalled. Unfortunately, she didn't seem to understand the seriousness and the gravity of this problem. Therefore, i am here writing this complaint so hopefully, someone can understand and relate to what has happened in my case.

The morning of thursday june 30th 2016 i tuned the car on and had an odd sound that even when i turned or drove it sounded like a bus! the steering was hard yet i still managed to get to work and home safely.my husband said the power steering fluid was depleted and added fluid. I then took it to work and was running ok no more sounds and i was content. That afternoon though i started up again and then saw the trail of fluid running down from under the car. The noise and stiffness of the steering wheel was back. Needless to say i almost couldn't make a turn to get into my home.

Ongoing leak of power steering fuel which caused smoke and odor of burning. Power steering fluid would drain and had to be replaced frequently. Upon inspection by dealer, power steering hose was cracked and needed replacement, this was completed at dealership.

2006 tsx. Consumer states power steering malfunction *tgwthe consumer stated the power steering was malfunctioning significantly and he could hardly drive the vehicle. Later in the evening, there was letter in the mail from acura regarding a safety recall relating to a power steering fluid leak.the consumer is now seeking reimbursement for $ 375.90 for the repairs.

Bought a used 2006 acura tsx at an auto auction in december, 2008. I noticed the tires were worn unevenly so i took it to my mechanic for an alignment. He immediately noticed that the rear wheels had a fairly noticeable negative camber, more so on the right rear than the left rear, of about 2 degrees, then when he put the car on the rack, he found the front tires had a small toe in problem that could be adjusted but the rear suspension had no provision for adjustment of the camber. I did some investigations on the internet to see how others were dealing about this problem, and found that a lot of other tsx owners were aware of the problem and that there were several aftermarket manufacturers making rear suspension adjustment kits. I then stopped in to my regular acura dealer repair department and talked with the service manager to see what could be done. He said that if i had brought the car in during the warranty period, i would have been covered, but since the car was over the 50,000 mile warranty period, i was out of luck. I asked him what the factory specifications were for the rear camber, and he told me that it was a minus 1 degree, plus or minus 30 minutes. I pressed him further, pointing out that this defect was built into the car and that the mileage on the car had no bearing on the amount of camber, and that if i had brought the car in to their shop to get the rear camber brought into factory specs, the shop wouldn't have been able to do that without a new rear linkage kit. I have noticed the rear camber problem on most tsx's in this generation of the car when i'm out and about. The service manager did tell me that everyone knows that you only get 25-30k miles out of a set of tires on a tsx, and i agreed but pointed out thatwas only because the rear camber design defect causes greatly increased wear on the inner part of the tire. My mechanic usually sets the rear camber at a -1/4 to 1/2 degree, and we can't figure out why the acura design team did this.

Got into my veh. Several weeks ago and found bits of glass on the passenger seat. Looked up and found my sunroof shattered, but still held together, apparently by the tint film on the inside of the glass. Getting out, i found pieces of glass on the outside of the glass roof. It appeared to have imploded from the inside' no known cause. Car was parked when i found this.
