On or around the end of march or first of april 2018, i purchased a acuratlx 2016.it was from an individual, but, he had a certificate of 100% approval that everything wasproperly working from jerry damson acura dealership in huntsville, al.i test drove the car and fell in love with it.i paid cash for the car, and recieved the title from him.my mother and 4yr. Old daughter was with me.i put her car seat in the back and my daughter and i were on our way home (approx.90 miles) but, we had to stop at a gas station first the car was on empty.i drove approx. 3 miles and i pull in to the gas station.i drove up to the pump and put it in park. I have not opened my door or turn off the engine.all of a sudden my left arm and shoulder were hurting in the most intense pain.my daughter was screaming and my mother had pulled up beside me in her car. And my ears are ringing and i could see my mothers lips moving and her hands are moving up and down. I finally rolled down the back window (were my daughter was).she said white smoke rolled out of the window as i was opening it.i hear her screaming are you ok - someone fired a shotgun we have to get out of here!as i was looking around this white sheet covered my side of the car!the driver side airbag deployed!how could this have happened!it was cleared 100% approval by an acura dealership - jerry damson - in huntsville, al.please, please tell me how this could happened

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. The contact stated that after shifting the vehicle into reverse, the back over prevention camera failed to operate as designed. The contact stated that there was moisture inside the lens, causing the image to be blurry. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the camera seal failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

I saw a mechanic and figured out the problem on the 21st of july. I checked on acuras website and there was a notice that they recalled this car last year with the same exact thing that my car was diagnosed with and my car is malfunctioning and there is nothing they can do about it because my vin does not have a recall on it even though i have the exact problem of their recall. My car is malfunctioning and i called headquarters client relations and they told me they can do nothing about it and that if i want it fixed then i have to fix it myself. I was driving on a high way when all the lights turned on in my car. My brake system says it failed my transmission light is on, my park brake is flashing, lane assist popping up. I was driving home form lake tahoe on a curvy road with my speed being 40-50. Many cars driving super fast when all of a sudden my car dropped to 20mph. My acura would not go past 20mph and my life and my passengers were in serious danger!

Vehicle does not start. Total electric failure. Not a battery problem per dealer. Still at dealership.

I tried to start my car and it made a weird ticking noise as if the battery was dead. All the lights on the dashboard turned on and the car kept telling me i needed to turn off some sort of brake system in order for the car to work. I turned the car off and tried again, this time it would not start but automatically turned on to accessory mode. I had to call my car insurance to give the car a jump and it seemed to do the trick, however, he noted that it wasn't the battery and that it was very odd.

I have some serious issues with acura tlx with idle stop feature. My car had the same issues last year, when the car didn't turn back on automatically after the idle stop feature activated. I took my car to the dealership(acura of fremont, ca) and they can't able to figure out the root cause and my car battery died in the middle of the road. It took 3 -4 hours to take the car to the dealership and they replaced the battery but now this issue started happening again. I called acura customer service and they provided me this case number # [xxx] and forward the case to local dealership (acura of fremont, ca). I have dropped the car at the dealership but they are not very hopeful to find out the root cause of this issue. This issue is really a safety risk and not sure what you are planning to do to address this issue. It's seems to be a known issue with idle stop feature.https://www.tlxforums.com/threads/engine-failing-to-start-after-idle-stop.31809/ i am hopeful that you will address my concern. Please feel to reach out to me at [xxx]. Thanksinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

2016 acura tlx 39,462 miles on odometer.the engine lost power. The warning light displayed parking brake system malfunction, emission system malfunction.after 3 times shutting off and turning on the power button, the condition went back to normal.

Driving on the expressway at 70 mph, the car starts sputtering then decelerated, it would not accelerate even while pressing the gas pedal. I pulled off to the emergency lane and the lights started flickering, warning lights appeared "check hill start assist system", "check emission system", "check power steering system", "check brake hold system", "check brake system", and "check parking brake system". After sitting in the emergency lane after about 30 seconds, the car shut off. Extremely dangerous situation. It was diagnosed as a battery with a dead cell. Amazingly, of all the lights that illuminated, i never received any warning that i had dead battery. The battery light did not come on until the other warning lights came on. This happened at 35,246. This is the second time the car has been at the service center in less than 10 months.

I was driving 70mph on i-75 south and i moved into the left lane to pass a vehicle and when pressed down on the gas my car decelerated and multiple (all) warning lights on the dashboard lit up.the car did not recover from the deceleration and caused the car behind me to slam on their brakes, i had to quickly navigate three lanes of traffic during rush hour to get off of the highway.i called acura service from the off ramp and they said if i restart my car a few times it should reset and i can proceed home.when i brought my car to acura they said it was a software update and that they don't perform the software update unless a customer is experiencing issues.i am deeply concerned that this issue has not been marked as a recall or automatic software update during regular service.i was able to navigate off of the highway, but i don't think this would be the case for all drivers in this situation.

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. The contact was unable to unlock the front driver side door from inside the vehicle. The contact had to exit the vehicle from the outside door handle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 2,000.

Again, while driving approximately 75 mph on interstate all error codes on dashboard (mil) lit up and the car began to feel as if the transmission was not engaged as if i was in neutral and the engine began loosing power. The speed began decreasing, but then would catch for a few seconds. The gear indicatedthat it was in drive. I pulled off the interstate & parked. I waited a few minutes & restarted and tried to re-engage in drive to see if it reset itself as it has done in the past just 7 weeks prior, however it just revved up. I called road side assistance and had it towed to nearest dealer an hour away as again the mechanical break down occurred while i was traveling in between cities. The next morning, the dealer was able to retrieve the error codes and said that the transmission needed another software update to repair the issue, the computer was reset . While driving home the transmission became jumpy again around 3rd gear. I contacted my local dealership and made them aware of my safety concerns for the car as again, my entire family (husband, kids and dogs) were in the car and felt as if this could have resulted in horrible accident had i not safely navigated off of the interstate while at such a high speed with heavy holiday traffic. This error has displayed for times and each time there was a different solution to the problem besides having 2 transmission updates, bad battery cell and replaced push button gear assembly. I have documented all incidents and reported to dealership as well as acura corporate. I currently have appointment for next week so that their service adviser can try and replicate this intermittent problem to determine what the error is. I've made them aware that this is a dangerous mechanical issue that not only puts me and my passengers in danger but possibly other cars, but was assured i do not need a rental until it can be seen again.

I purchased the car september 2016 first battery replacement in november 2018; second battery replacement march 2020. Both batteries came with a 5 year warranty both needed replacement within 2 years. Unknown why the batteries keep failing.

On several occasions, the driver side window does not and will not close. Window rolls up closed then immediately rolls back down. Nothing is blocking the window or stuck in the tracks. Does this a few times then finally closes. Only occurs when switch is pulled all the way for auto closing. Additionally, on a few occasions, when i make left turns, the front passenger window rolled up by itself.

From a stopped position, moving forward my vehicle hesitated and decreased in power and the gas pedal did not help moving the vehicle forward.this happened in the middle of the intersection for several seconds 10-15 before the vehicle started moving forward again.from a moving position, i was going around a right-hand slight curve going approximately 45-50 mhp and the vehicle failed to keep power, speed decreased, and then began working again after several scary seconds.the main problem i have is when accelerating, the fuel seems like it is not processed correctly to allow my vehicle to accelerate. This is a dangerous mechanical issue that has happened more than ten times.i have contacted the dealership but they said my vin was not in the listing of recalls.i am clearly having the same problems as many other acura tlx owners.additionally, when i push the start button it did not start the vehicle.this has happened 3 times as of nov 2019.my vehicle should be listed with the recalled listing of other 2016 tlx acura vehicles.

The telematics unit in my 2016 acura tlx remains in the on position and continues to attempt to connect to a bluetooth device while vehicle is off. This contributes to battery failure. Many owners have disconnected the device as have i , in order to keep the battery from constantly dying. Car dies after one full day of not being started requiring the battery to need to be recharged. Acura stated they can replace telematics for a charge of $1000 but not sure if this will correct the issue.

This vehicle has had repeated battery failures. I had to have a battery replaced in this car less than a year ago and yesterday, the new battery died again. I was at the gas station getting gas and when i tried to start the vehicle, all of the lights started flickering with a loud repetitive clicking sound and the vehicle would not start. I had to call acura roadside assistance who sent out a aaa tow driver. The tow driver said that he has had about 80 calls for this type of vehicle just this year alone and all of them have had battery issues. Acura should issue a recall for these defective batteries. I have the vehicle at an acura dealer for the 2nd time in a year to have the battery replaced. The vehicle is still fairly new with only 46,000 miles.

Takata recallit was around 7:30 am i was driving my kids to school and i felt like i slightly lost control of my vehicle and like it was slipping somehow. Next thing i know the steering wheel is crooked and almost every warning lights have turned on and i started getting all the warning sounds describing more warinings than i could check on the second page on this incident report. I barely bought my acura a few months ago so i'm very shocked be having such a scary incident so fast. I thought acura's were dependable reliable cars that would keep me and more importantly my children safe. I felt so scared for the safety of my children. It was even more upsetting to find that this same situation on the same brand of acura's has happened before to more than 1 person on youtube! what is acura waiting for on a recall. You would think they wouldn't want any lawsuits when someone gets hurt. Please help turn this into a recall before lives are lost. Thank you

My car stalled while driving on the interstate at 75mph. It happened in may, july, and september 2019. While driving the vehicle lost power and would not accelerate. The tachometer registering the rpms dropped to 1,000 and stayed there. After pulling over, shutting the car off, waiting, and restarting the car, the vehicle proceeded to operate as normal. Many of the warning lights appeared during this incident. Finally, in september, my car was undriveable and had to be towed to the dealership. The determination was that the car needed a new engine. I'm still awaiting for the repairs to be completed at this time (november 13, 2019).

While traveling 75 mph on interstate multiple / allwarning lights suddenly illuminated on dash board and the car placed itself into neutral from drive position. Upon coming to rest car was placed into park along shoulder and when drive was selected it would not engage. Vehicle was turned off and allowed to sit for several minutes before restarting again. Again it would not allow to go into drive. Tow truck was dispatched and after about 30 minutes car was able to shift into drive. Vehicle was then driven about 1/8 mile along shoulder to visible rear stop entrance. We waited for tow to truck to arrive. Car was restarted and would not engage into drive or neutral when attempting to load onto tow truck. After several attempts neutral and drive eventually engaged. Car was taken to nearest dealer just before close before major holiday. Recieved call from dealer stating that the cause of all this was dead battery. Unknown to them battery was replaced y months prior. Also i have dts report showing multiple malfunctions and errors. I feel that if all this can happen by having a dead battery (that somehow allows you to restart your car multiple times after initial malfunction) this is a huge safety concern. I called dealership back and asked them to double check diagnosis and also check alternator being that the battery is only 6 months old.

My electrical parking brake stays on even when i unapply the brake. Sometimes my automatic emergency braking light will come on saying disabled. My traction stability controlwill become disabled out of nowhere. My lane keeping assistance will also become disabled with everything else. All this happens all together and my check engine and emission warning light come on whenever everything becomes disabled.

For just shy of a year, we've been experiencing problems with our 2016 tlx misfiring and stalling. Fuel pressure has been tested and it's shown to dramatically drop while under load. It behaves like the problem identified with the recall nhtsa 19v060000 for the v6 of the same year/model. It's a very disturbing event when it happens and it prevents us from driving the car longer than 30-45 minutes - particularly for adequately and safely handling highway driving. At the worst, the car goes into limp mode/stalls out.

I was driving at 45 miles per hour and out of nowhere the car stopped accelerating and turned on all the dash lights on many warnings

I tried to start my car and it made a weird ticking noise as if the battery was dead. All the lights on the dashboard turned on and the car kept telling me i needed to turn off some sort of brake system in order for the car to work. The transmission is jerky, clunky, bounces to a stop, bounces and lurches forward when stopping, will take 2-3 seconds to respond to pedal push and then take off. It's very dangerous in stop and go traffic. It's very dangerous when stopping for pedestrians. It's very dangerous when driving, period. Here is the link to all of my documents regarding the case: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ppup9uyz-cxivpdursj1dd07wjxewoak

Unusual noise from engine when idle, which increases gradually

When attempting to pass, the vehicle will have over a one second delay before it will downshift. This has led to numerous dangerous situations where rapid acceleration was necessary. This will happen whether on a city or highway street. It does not matter what mode of drive is selected, such as sport, or sport plus. I can most easily describe what happens as a dropping sensation in your stomach, and a sensation in your neck where you anticipate the car to "jump forward", yet nothing happens for over 1 second. It is quite disconcerting!i have brought this back to the dealership on three occasions and had two repairs done under warranty, and i paid for two portions of the visits. From researching the internet, this is a very common problem for this model of acura.

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. While driving 70 mph, the headlights failed to illuminate. The high beam lights were activated, but also failed to illuminate the road adequately. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

Car stalls when i am at a red light or a stop. It happens when the car has been driven awhile, not when it first starts.after stopping at a red light, the car fails to start when i put my foot on the gas to accelerate. The car will stall, then when i try to start it by pushing the start button, it takes more than 1 try for it to start. It happened 4 times within 2 hours a week ago; each time after being stopped at a red light. This problem has occurred since i purchased the car, and never when the engine is cold.

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. The contact stated that the vehicle suddenly stalled and various unknown indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to fresno acura (7250 n palm ave, fresno, ca 93711, (559) 431-3400) where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump failed. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 86,000.

The vehicle is stalling at intersections. This problem occurs more frequently on hot days.

I was driving on the highway and turning and then all of a sudden these indicators came on which were the vsa, power steering, check engine light, and the brake system came one. Once these indicators came on the car started stalling and wouldn't go past 2 rpm and had lack of power. So we had to automatically stop and pull over to the side. Couple of cars were behind us as well and we could have crashed. We took about a month or so before we took it in to fresno acura and they said it was the fuel pump that's broken.

Transmission function sensor failure warning and blind spot sensor failure warning appeared on dash while i was driving on a city street. Car went immediately into neutral while i was driving. If i took my foot off the brake it would roll backwards into oncoming traffic and cars driving behind me.

Driving at highway speed, cruise control on.tried to accelerate, using pedal, to pass.no response from vehicle. Driver info cluster was flashing "n" for neutral. Multiple error messages " check transmission", "check emissions systems", "check parking brake system".confirmed engine was still on, @ idle speed.pressed "d" to re-engage drive.transmission would not engage.forced to coast to side of road in traffic with no ability to accelerate or keep speed.onceunder 5 mph trans made clicking sound and eventually engaged "park" abruptly.made more unsuccessful attempts to engage "drive".got out checked vehicle for any obvious mechanical failures.got back in car turned off and back on. Error messages remained but was able to get the trans to engage drive. Drove vehicle to safer place off the interstate.called acura road side service.while waiting for service i turned car off and restarted.car came back up "normal". Finished mission. Acura dealer at destination found no problems or stored codes.

1. When accelerating from a stop, the transmission occasionally feels like it slips into neutral. The engine res but does not move forward for 1-2 seconds.2. Car downshifts into 1st gear and lurches forward after coming to a stop.3. Transmission shifts very abruptly and rough during almost all accelerations.

While driving 30 miles per hour on a city street, i noticed the car started was shifting hard. Two minutes later, the warning lights appeared "check vsa system", "check precision all wheel steer system", and "check transmission" and the car would not accelerate. This happened at 16,721 miles. The diagnosis was crumbs in the gear panel. Acura showed no record of me bringing my car in for the service.

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. The contact stated that the transmission warning indicator illuminated and there was a loss of power. The vehicle shifted independently into neutral while on an incline and rolled in reverse towards oncoming traffic. The contact applied the hazard lights, and turned the vehicle off and back on. The contact then parked the vehicle in a parking area. The vehicle was taken to two different dealers: acura of lynnwood (21515 wa-99, lynnwood, wa 98036, (425) 775-2925) and acura of bellevue (13424 ne 20th st, bellevue, wa 98005, (425) 644-3000) for diagnostic testing, but the results were unknown. The manufacturer issued 79 tsbs on the power train; however, the vehicle was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 7,500.

As i come to a slow down and a stop my car surges like it wants to continue to go. More less feels like it jerks or a stall.

On my 2016 acura tlx i have a problem with the seat plastic trim that breaks every other year and for multiple other owners it happens every 9 months. This is a big problem when you want to adjust the seat you can put your fingers in the whole and cut your fingers. I am outraged why no recall is done by this point where multiple owners have this problem starting 2015 untill 2019 from what i see on multiple forums and i have the link to all those forums if needed. I went to acura dealershipand they fixed at no cost when the car was in warranty but now my car is not in warranty and they do not want to fix it for less than $460. I am not paying $460 for a fake premium car when this is not my fault but a design flaw because they placed a metal piece right under the plastic trim. Please help me if you can or direct me to someone that can help.

The headrest is crippling.i am 5 foot 5 inches with great posture.when i sit in the seat, the headrest pitches my head forward and hurts.the longer the drive the worse it hurts. 2 chiropractors say it is mechanically impossible for the human body to sit this way. This site has a great description: http://www.yogaback.com/new-car-headrests-designed-too-far-forward.htmlthis site has great pictures: http://themalleablemom.com/2014/06/16/car-seat-position-causing-you-pain/ you really need to change this as the pain levels are acute.

The contact owns a 2017 (na) acura tlx. The contact stated that the headrest on the driver seat was designed to point forward and down, which caused the driver to have lower back and neck painand numbness to the legs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,600. Updated 06/08/17*lj

While driving and i applied the brakes i can feel it shaking very rapidly ,however it happens more when i driving a downhill

2016 acura tlx 39,462 miles on odometer.the engine lost power. The warning light displayed parking brake system malfunction, emission system malfunction.after 3 times shutting off and turning on the power button, the condition went back to normal.

I saw a mechanic and figured out the problem. I checked on acuras website and there was a notice that they recalled this car last year with the same exact thing that my car was diagnosed with and my car is malfunctioning and there is nothing they can do about it because my vin does not have a recall on it even though i have the exact problem of their recall. My car is malfunctioning and i called headquarters client relations and they told me they can do nothing about it and that if i want it fixed then i have to fix it myself.i was driving on a high way when all the lights turned on in my car my brake system says it failed my transmission light is on, my park brake is flashing, lane assist popping up. There are many people with acuras who have the same issues as i do!

Thank you

Side mirrors-not real mirrors (funhouse effect); somewhat wavy; placement of mirrors cause a/c vents to reflect in them (big distraction)touch screen is impossible to read in sunlight; requires an overhand (not recessed into the dashboard as is the other screen in car)too much touch screen technologhy requiring driver to tak eyes off the road

Vehicle has stalled multiple times after restart from idle stop. Upon releasing of the brakes or movement of the steering wheel, a half restart initiates followed by a total stall and all light on the dash flashing. This has happen about 7 times from a full stop randomly.this results in a full stall and inability to restart the car for about 10 seconds.

Vehicle does not start. Total electric failure. Not a battery problem per dealer. Still at dealership.

Strong reflection of dashboard parts on front windshield and in left and right back traffic view mirrors.

The following problem has happened about 12 or so times.i didn't keep track until it was obviously an issue.i have recorded it on video about half dozen times and provided this to acura.while driving with the adaptive cruise control set to a speed i touch the brake to disengage the cruise control.i then press the resume button to return to cruise control.the cruise control does not come back on, but the indicator on the dashboard flashes (as if it were coming back on) and stays off.i'm unable to even set a new speed.flipping the toggle to resume or set does the same thing, nothing.on every occasion the only way to restore the cruise control to work was to stop the car, shut it off, then restart the car (reboot).on one occasion, i had to do the reboot process three times to restore the ability to use the cruise control.the car has been to the dealer three times but they cannot duplicate the issue. In addition to several videos i took on two occasions i had passengers in the car who witnessed this. This has happened on interstate highways, state roads, and town roads.it has happened at speeds set from about 30 mph to 74 mph.it happens day or night, on cold and hot days.i don't recall that it has happened during rain.

Acceleration from low gears rev rpm up to 6000 when moving out of a parking spot. When going onto highway same thing anything lower than 20 mph has a hesitation. Not sure what my options are.

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. While pulling into a parking spot with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle accelerated and lunged forward without warning. Due to the failure, the contact's vehicle drove over a concrete curb barrier and was stopped by bushes. The crash did not cause the air bags to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a lower back sprain injury on the left side. Medical attention was received. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. The front bumper, bumper cover, lower grill, grill step, headlamps, and passenger alloy were repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 2,400...updated 12/20/16

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. The contact stated that the front vents caused a reflection in the side view mirrors causing the contacts vision to be obscured. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 78. The vin was unavailable.

Side view mirrors have a reflection of inside vents. This is very dangerous, when you have an obstructed view. Can cause serious accident. I could not see side view because of reflection.

While driving the car in bright sunlight there is a clare reflection from the drivers and passenger's dashboard vents that reflects strongly on the interior side window right where the left and right side view mirrors are located.the glare can be very strong on sunny days that it makes it difficult to discern if a vehicle really is in the side view mirrors.this glare comes from the chrome vents outline.this is a systemic problem as i've driven three different 2016 tlx all with the same issue.i have reported this issue to the acura dealer where i bought it.they claim this is the first they knew about it.i asked them to present it to a regional manger for resolution.interestingly acura parts manuals have a black outlet vent (pn 77610tz3a01za) but none of the 2016 tlx can be bought with a black outlet vent.i hope that this new part number is available to settle these significant safety complaints.this has been a problem on sunny days for the six months we have had the car.the only way to remove the glare is to have both front windows completely down.

Driving to work 3/19/20 at 7:15am.the sunroof shattered. The shade was open and glass shards covered my wife and the inside of the car. There were no vehicles within a 1/4 mile. There were no bridges she drove under within a mile. I called and spoke to the local acura dealership asking if there was a campaign or recall or if this was a known issue. I was told to contact a collision center to get fixed as there was no warranty. I asked to speak with the service manager and have not heard back as of yet.

The contact owns a 2016 acura tlx. While driving 70 mph, a loud noise was heard. The contact noticed that the sun roof exploded without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,200. The vin was not available.

Excessive vibrations above 70mph. Brought back to dealership over 10 times and told the same thing over. They are unable to duplicate the issue since their technicians are unable to test drive over 55mphspeed limit.was also informed by a sales rep that this is a known issue.
