The contact was loaned a 2015 acura tlx. While driving 25 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of the loaner vehicle. All the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a neck, lower back, and head injury that required medical attention. The loaner vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The loaner vehicle was then towed to the dealer (mile high acura, 2799 s havana st, denver, co 80014) and the contact was provided with another loaner vehicle. The contact was not sure if the loaner vehicle was diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000.
Car won't crank and won't start. Ended up stranded numerous times within the last 2 months while out shopping. Each time stranded, the car would start after being jumped by another vehicle each time. After the first account of being stranded and jumped by another vehicle, i immediately drove to the dealership and was told by the dealership that my car battery was testing "very good" and they said my battery would recharge itself and that the drainage could be due to the hot texas weather. Not so much the case as i ended up stranded two days after that, once again. Then, a week or so later, on another account of being stranded and jumped started by another vehicle, i drove to autozone to have them test my battery to find that it then too tested "very good." autozone suggested that i purchase a portable car charger, so i did. Came to find out that upon being stranded the fourth time, the portable charger was unable to get me jumped/started. So, i had to call roadside assistance. Roadside assistance tried using "their" portable car charger but failed to work. So the rep pulled out his jumper cables and was able to jump my car after about 5 minutes. At that point, i went back to autozone and decided to purchase a new car battery even though my existing battery tested "very good" once again. Immediately following the battery replacement, my srs airbag light became illuminated and has been on since then. It's been 3 weeks since i've had the new batter installed and i'm now stranded again. I've seen way tooo many posts with other folks experiencing this same issue. Please investigate!!!!!
Takata recall: i received a safety recall letter from acura automobile division dated march 2016. I was on vacation when the letter was mailed. Upon returing home and reading this recall notice i called acura clients relations on march 24, 2016. They told me to call the dealerservice manger where i purchase my car.i went to the dealer on march 30, 2016. I had to sign acura takata airbag inflator replacement vehicle retention/storage owner indemnification agreement.i was given a purchase to take to enterprise car rental for a rental card. I was given a ford focus until the summer of 2016 while my brand new acura is parked in my drive way since march 2016 while i am makinga $398 monthly car payment on a brand new acura ilx that i cannot drive until mid or late summer of 2016. I think my car payments should be reimbursed from the date of the recall notice until parts become available for repairs and mycar is repaired and safety to drive again. If i want to drive a ford focus in the first place. At least acura could have provided a car in the same class as my acura ilx 2015.i have always driven a honda or acura vehicle and i have been driving oven 30 years.i am very unhappy that i have to pay a monthly car payment on a car that i can not drive. Unhappy acura customer mem

My airbag light suddenly came on for no reason and in the dash board it says airbag system srs problem
Airbag and seatbelts warning sign is on.states it's not covered under warranty. This happened to a few others as there are forums online about this
After a minor fender bender, the vehicle became completely disabled and blocked four (4) lanes of traffic for almost four (4) hours. The driver-side knee airbag deployed and several sensors/relays became inoperable and the car reported a braking system failure that rendered the car immobile. The tires locked up and the vehicle subsequently had to be dragged onto a flatbed tow truck. Additionally, the acuralink service did not contact me until 90+ minutes later and the assist/sos button fell off of the car before i could engage it.while making a left turn, the front end of my car was sideswiped. My vehicle immediately became immobilized with the brakes fully engaged on all four (4)tires. The accident happened on a four (4) lane city street. My car came to rest in a parallel position blocking all four (4) lanes.
After replacing my battery on my 2015 tlx i started receiving warning codes saying emission system problem and electric parking brake problem. I went to 3 different acura dealerships for a diagnosis and was given a different diagnosis from each dealership. I first seen the codes as i was entering the expressway at approximately 35 mph 1 week after getting a new battery.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to correctly shift gears.all the indicator warning lights were illuminated.additionally, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon starting.the vehicle was taken to the local dealer rick case acura (875 n state rd 7, fort lauderdale fl (954) 715-7796) where it was diagnosed that battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced however the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 60,000. The vin was not available.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While operating the vehicle, the transmission, crash assist, and traction control warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle suddenly decelerated. Acura by executive (527 washington ave, north haven, ct) was notified of the failure. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 62,000.
Battery acid from the manufacturer's original battery leaked, and damaged the transmission wiring harness, which sits underneath the battery. Until detected, this caused sporadic warnings and multiple malfunctions while driving that would appear, but then go away. Some months later, the car started but the computer would not shift from park. The instrument cluster listed numerous, unrelated system issues: "adaptive cruise control problem" ; "stop driving when safe. Transmission problem. See manual." ; "electric parking brake problem" ; "emissions system problem" ; "transmission system problem" ; "transmission problem apply parking brake when parked" ; "vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem" ; "precision all wheel steer problem" ; "collision mitigation system problem" ; "road departure mitigation system problem" ; "blind spot info system problem." this vehicle has a shift-by-wire drive selector, and there is no mechanical way for a consumer to disengage the transmission from the drivetrain. The vehicle was stuck in park and needed special equipment to be safely moved onto a tow-truck, which took the manufacturer's roadside service two days to address. The wiring harness was replaced under warranty, but took several days for a repair. The 2015 acura tlx seems to be known for reacting in this way for any type of electrical or voltage variability from any number of its electronic systems, including while driving.
I was driving to the store, my car jerked really hard, then as i turned the car off bought my items from the store. Coming back my car didnā€™t want to start at all. All the lights on the dashboard came on
Traveling on interstate in the middle lane when my cars transmission went in to neutral and the instrument panel started to flash error messages i.e. Stop driving when safe transmission problem see manual, electrical parking brake problem, emissions systems problem, transmission system problems, transmission problem apply parking brake when parked, all wheel drive system problem, and blind spot info system problem. All i can do is cost over two lanes of traffic and get to the side of the interstate in fear of an accident.
The vsa problem light & forward collision warning problem light came up while driving and the vehicle stopped & stalls all in a sudden.not sure if this is a safety issue, but almost got into a car accident.please help!thank you
Agm battery failure every few months. Suspected cause is constant undercharging from computer algorithm that limits alternator output to battery. This situation is worsened by idle-stop feature that requires deep discharge from battery. Idle-stop cannot be disabled. Dealership cannot cope with this problem. American honda has offered to provide an overnight charger that plugs into house power. Otherwise they accept no responsibility for a design that cannot keep the battery charged. The result is a $40,000 luxury car that leaves you stranded. This is a serious safety problem when it happens in traffic. Other reports on the internet indicate this is not an isolated problem.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the battery light illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle within 15-20 seconds and the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to king acura (1687 montgomery hwy, hoover, al 35216) where it was determined that the failure was linked to a defective battery. The battery was replaced however, a few months after the battery replacement, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The contact was then referred to the manufacturer. The contact was informed to disable the auto start feature as a possible fix for the failure. The auto start feature was disable however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.*dt*dt

The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle seized without warning. The contact was able to restart the ignition and drive to her destination. The vehicle was taken to jay wolfe acura (located at 1029 w 103rd st, kansas city, mo 64114, (816) 656-2281) where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. While the contact's husband was parking the vehicle and pressing the park button, it failed and the vehicle rolled forward and struck a rock. The contact stated that the gear displayed that it was in park; however, the vehicle was still placed in neutral. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 20,000.
When driving on a windy road around 40mph the car went into limp mode causing the car to suddenly decelerate to 5 mph which nearly caused an accident by the car behind me. The car then started displaying multiple error codes on the dash (electric parking brake problem, emissions system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem, lane departure warning problem).
I have had the vehicle into the dealer 3 times (feb 2018, july 2018 and nov 18) for the same problem. Each time the vehicle stalls and must bet into park andrestarted when at a stop sign, stop light or stopped for road construction on the highway. The automatic idle causes the car to stall. In order to get it going must shift into park and restart. It is very frightening because it happens intermittently. This happens with no warning and presents a safety issue. The car is not safe and is a hazard.
The car will click when i'm trying to start it wont start changed the batter, starter. But before this the tail lights went out the alarm beeps when i lock the doors wont beep and now it wont start.
There was no accident. This car is the 4 cylinder, tech model. The transmission hesitates shifting from reverse to drive. It also will hesitate when turning a corner sometimes.the other problem with this car is the climate control system (listed as electrical above). It simply doesn't work correctly. The driver side tested 8 degrees different than the passenger side. So if i have the drive side set at 75 degrees for heat it feels like 68 degrees. When on the heat setting, the fan appears to disperse more out of the defroster than it does below the dash. I have to turn the car climate control setting on the driver side to 80+ degrees and use the ac dash vents to keep my upper body and hands warm. There are many complaints on the acura tlx forum about the climate control issue. I have made attempts to get acura to address the heater climate control issue.
Constant battery draining from unknown issue within the electrical system. I am currently on my third car battery after purchasing my car in january 2016 with 108 miles on the car. I have been using a portable battery jumper for the last month because of this on going issue. The car would not start after parking overnight and have caused a disturbance in my life before commuting to and from work, along with to covid19 vaccination appointments. Another issue is the auto start/stop function when pressing on the brake pedal at a red light where the engine is suppose to turn off and back on in order to be gas efficient. I have been forced to turn of the feature due to the car dying completely in at a red light and causing a traffic jam. It has happened multiple times and have caused additional inconvenience in my daily commute. I believe both issues are related and it is an issue with acura due to multiple individuals across the country when i have done research within acura tlx forums.
Push button start often in cold weather will not start car.however, remote engine start function on the remote will work.if car was running and then turned off for a few minutes in cold, the car will not restart unless done through remote start
Starting in nov 2019 my acura tlx started to spontaneously decelerate and lose engine power when in motion. Error code of p0087 was provided by acura of milford, ct and was highly suggestive of replacing high pressure fuel pump. The engine fuel pump was replaced in early dec 2019 however the car continued with loss of power, terrible gas mileage, poor acceleration and multiple warnings illuminated. Acura of milford was contacted and they noted it may be the other fuel pump that needed to be replaced. The second in tank fuel pump was replaced mid dec 2019 with no improvement. The car was brought to acura dec 31, 2019 and they said there was nothing to be found, they reset the p0087 code and did a hard reset. The car still continued with the same symptoms but now with a humming noise present. In feb 2020, the fuel rail and sensor was replaced, yet still no improvement. The car was taken back to acura and once again they reset the error code and noted they only found corrosion near the sensor and they cleaned it off. Car was driving much worse now and if it loss power it would not start up unless cranked 15-25 times in a 10 min window. March 2020 the spark plugs were replaced and the car is still not driving right, all symptoms still present and the humming noise is getting louder. This car has loss power while in motion randomly in the middle of traffic, both on street and most dangerously on the highway, embarrassing but thankful to some good samaritans that have exited their vehicle to push me safety on multiple occasions. Acura can not duplicate the problems yet just resets the error code and sends me on my way to call if it happens again. It has been happening frequently since nov 2019 and no one can tell me what the issue is, even after i have spent thousands of dollars trying to fix this car based off their guesses.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and stopped in the middle of the road. The entire instrument panel illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart, but stalled again at red traffic lights as the auto start feature malfunctioned. The dealer (acura of avon, 75 albany turnpike, canton, ct 06019, (860) 693-6981) refused to turn off the auto start feature because it was against the law. The contact traveled to florida and had an unknown acura dealer change the battery and check the fuel pump for a recall, but no failure was found. The unknown dealer advised the contact to press the ignition button every time and avoid using the auto start feature. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
Acura tlx 2015 consistant draining battery issue for the past 3 years. The battery was replaced march 2019 while under warranty, malfunctioned 9 months later and was finally replaced elsewhere february 2020 (due to ongoing dispute with acura)... Now february 2021 the same battery draining issue has returned.
I opened my sun roof and now it won't close. When attempting to close the moon roofwill reverse direction when contacting the wind deflector and will not auto-close either.i took it into acura but was told i had to pay $350 an hour for labor because they would have to take it apart.and plus parts, the warranty does not cover does not cover this.. I don't think it is anything i did and have seen on website this has happened to other acura rdx vehicles within the last years.i will be taking my vehicle in to another place to get fixed because things get in when i drive on the freeway.
While driving i noticedthat my car didn't seem to shift correctly.i pulled over and accelerated again. Got to my destination and noticed the car wasn't moving harldy as i pulled up to park. Once i parked, i put it in reverse to pull up again and it was making a loud noise and jerking when i put it in reverse. I did this like 3 times to try and figure out what was going on. After about 4 hours i went to leave my destinationand it shifted into reverse just fine. I was relieved until after about 5 minutesof driving and then every light illuminated on the dash and the car wasn't accelerating as it should have been. The rpm's were going up but car was barely moving. I made it home but now sick to my stomachbecausei have no idea what this could be. Not sure if it needs to be towed to a shop or if i can or should drive it if possible.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated while driving at 35 mph, the vehiclesafety warning brake light, lane departure and steering light illuminated on the vehicle and would not turn off. The contact was able to pull over the vehicle into a parking lot where they had the vehicle towed to local dealer proctor acura (3523 w tennessee st, tallahassee, fl 32304) who diagnosed the failure as the rear actuators. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,000. *ln
The car automatically switches to neutral and shuts off while driving.i bought the car brand new from john eagle acura and have had this problem the entire time that i have owned the vehicle.the dealership replaced the transmission and starter on the car less than 3 months after pruchase.the car continues to switch gears on its own and shuts off! the dealership says that nothing is wrong with the car. Please beaware this car is not safe to drive!!!
I was driving home from work on interstate i 84 in my car engine stopped. I pulled over on the side of the road see what was going on without power steering without power breaking and when i was on the side of the road and i tried to start my car in the vehicle was just clicking. Once i got the car home i tested the battery and i tested the alternator both of which are working fine the starter somehow shut my car off. This issue also occurs every time i use the automatic engine stop start at red lights keeping me from using that feature of my vehicle completely
The car has an intermittent problem where the car dies completely after it comes to a stop (numerous times) and it can be turn on fora few minutes. There has been incidents where i have come close to be hit in the rear of the car (by other cars) because the car won't re-start immediately. Dealers have try to fix the problem but the situation remains the same.
This vehicle is so unsafe . I had lots of different situations happen and when i take it to the dealership they check it and say it's fine ! the vehicle stallsand hesitates and i get sensors going off constantlyincluding the brake sensor when there is nothing in front of me for it to go off . I've had the vehicle go in park by itself while on a light. The vehicle doesn't start and always needs a jump i got the battery checked multiple times and the dealership told me my batteryis good and i have to charge it .i believe there is an electrical issue with this vehicle . My vehicle only has 30,000 miles i have all my maintenance done at the dealership on time i purchased this vehicle thinking it's reliable being i'm a mother of two kids!
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced abnormal jerking between gears, abnormal acceleration when starting, and abnormal shifting while driving 45 mph. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission fluid needed to be replaced and the shift point software needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired but after 500 miles, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.

The original failure was scary. We had just left texas hwy 130 (80 mph toll way), when we sustained the original failure. As it failed, everybody in the car thought i had slammed on the brakes by the way the car buckled (like a bucking horse), it had done a violent sudden stop and release; the car went to idle and coasted for a bit without response from the engine; i studied the panel because everything was lit up; once i decided the engine was still idling, i pressed the accelerator slowly until i decided i had some control; checked the failure messages; then tried to drive the car.the car could be driven, i drove it slowly with the hazard lights on, the car buckled every so often.since we were close to home we went there. Had this happened at 80 mph, i don't know what would have happened.
I turned off my car for a moment when i attempted to start back up it would not turn over at all.
While driving at 45mph the car lost power i.e., steering, brakes, stability control and transmission and was unable to unlock parking brake

Engine failed to restart during 'auto idle-stop/start' at a traffic light on a busy road. In order to restart i had to press the 'start' button multiple times and return the car to 'park' before being able to resume operation.
I was accelerating from 40 mph to 50 mph when the car suddenly stopped accelerating, beeped, and started flashing all system errors in orange on the dash display.the car would not go above 50 mph, as if the gas was being choked off at that point.car was towed to dealer.they had the car for a week before it was "fixed".the exact same error just occurred for a second time while i was accelerating and merging into a busy highway lane.car is again at the dealer for almost a week and counting.while it hasn't caused an accident yet, this is extremely dangerous.i was nearly rear-ended when my car stopped accelerating and started decelerating on a busy highway.in between these occurrences, i have had other random errors, such as the lane departure warning system activating while driving straight down the center of a lane.when this occurs, the steering wheel is "tugged" towards the direction it thinks it needs you to go.very dangerous when the car is trying to tug you out of your lane into another.the random errors that occur are all with the same systems that flash error warnings all over the dash on the two occasions that the car has stopped functioning properly.ldw, acc, braking system, vsc...all important safety systems!
The safety incident(s) to be reported: 1) vehicle seemed to jump into neutral' when decelerating almost to a stop (e.g. To make a turn) resulting in the engine revving and no power when the accelerator is pressed.tach did not move and thetransmission display still reads d. This left me in the middle of an intersection with no power being delivered to the wheels. There was no oncoming traffic. Unfortunately this has happened repeatedly when the engine is cold. So far there have been no accidents. Each of the following safety problems are also ongoing:2) intermittent and variable duration hesitation from a stopped position (or slowed down to around 10mph or less and then accelerating) makes it dangerous to turn swiftly across oncoming traffic.3) intermittent and variable duration slipping when trying to accelerate from a slow (10mph or less) coast makes it dangerous to perform any maneuver that requires a swift and reliable response from the transmission.4) intermittent and variable duration revving between gears when kicking down to try to pass another vehicle makes such maneuvers risky.
The onboard system crashed while i was driving. All the warnings on the dash went off. The car automatically went into park. When i placed the car into drive mode the parking brake would not disengage. I turned off and on my car the issues persisted. After i turned off and on my car a third time the car allowed me to drive it.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that the vehicle jerked and hesitated. The failure occurred at speeds from 0 to 40 mph. The failure occurred without warning. In addition, the park lock did not engage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a software update. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was brought to the dealer twice more and was repaired with the software update again, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 14v779000 (power train). The failure mileage was 10,800.
Soy based wiring placed in vehicle by acura manufacture causes an attraction to rodents, squirrels, mice to eat the wires. The rodents are attracted to the taste of the material. Since january of this year 2020 i have sustained damage three times to my 2015 acura tlx which cost thousands of dollars to repair. This soy based material is being placed in the newer models to save on cost for the manufacturer, but leave costumers, like myself, at a deficit of money and time for repairs. It is also unsafe, because one never knows when the car will stop running or if it will even start. I have been effected by this in january of 2020, march 2020 and again in may 2020. I also own a 2015 honda accord and my husband a 2009 toyota that are parked in the same area and no such damage has occurred to these older model cars. The corporate office is aware of the soy based material, but refuses to take responsibility. If this soy based material was not put in the cars to begin with then rodents would not be attracted. My older cars stand as a testament as well as my neighbors cars that are not affected. There are other newer makes of vehicles that are noted in research that are being eaten by rodents due to soy. This has caused me time and money and was never disclose to me upon purchase. I am very disappointed and consider this a danger to myself because i don't know if or when the car would stop while i'm driving. I found out all three times upon attempting to start my car in the morning while on my way to work. I got messages that told me to "park the car, check engine, check transmission"... I consider this a manufacturers defect and while i make car payments i have been unable to drive my vehicle. My car is a 2015 acura tlx that i just purchased in january of 2019 certified preowned. This soy based material is tasty to rodent and is causing them to eat at my wires.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced independent acceleration, deceleration, jerking, and abnormal noises. In addition, the vehicle failed to start on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle needed a software update and torque converter replacement. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200.
After a traffic light stop, i accelerated and the car lost acceleration, then the check engine turned on. I pulled overand had no response from the accelerator. Check engine was flashing. I turned off the car then turned it back on, and problem was gone acceleration came back. I merge into my lane again andnot even 100 ft when my dash lights came on, like a christmas tree. Every light in my dash was lit. The following are some of the lights that were on. Power steeringparkcheck engineadaptable cruise control problemcollision signseatbelttraction controloil lightabs collision lightbrake system problemacclkasvehicle stability assistthe issue appeared to be electrical since the mechanical parts of the car looked ok. I drove the car home at 55 mph since thats as fast as it will let me drive it. I stopped at a autozone to scan the obd computer and just a misfire on cylinder 2 code came up which is strange that a misfire would cause this problem. No other codes came out. Note: car had no check engine light on before this in 179,000 miles we have owned it. Went homedisconnected the battery then hook it back on. Problem went away. It hasnot happened in 12 hrs. The issue is i dont trust the car anymore. If this would have happened in the freeway 10 at 80 mph with traffic, i would have cause a deadly crash. Then i looked on you tube and there is practically dozens of acura owners with identical issues, some of them avoided crashes because of loss of power. Dealers cant find solutions, in the comments section all i read is people asking if someone found a solution. Seems like honda should be doing something about it , to keep their costumers safe. Hope this letter gets to them and nhtsa do something about it, before it takes someone's life.
On various occasions, i have went to start my car and the car's keyless entry option will work and the lights, radio, ac, all of that will turn on but the car's engine will not turnover. Consequently, i have had to have my car jump started for it to completely turn over. Other times, all of the warning lights will come on and say that all the safety features including, lkas, blind-spot monitor, brake hold, steering, etc. Systems have failed and all warning/error lights/messages will pop up and then will go away after the car has been turned off for 10-15 minutes.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact shifted the vehicle into park and the vehicle was restarted. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to two unknown dealers however, the mechanics were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.
Several times, all of the lights would flash on the car to check all of the systems and then the car would shut off while i was mid drive mostly while in a residential neighborhood but sometimes on a major parkway. After about an hour the car would start back up. I would not be able to start the car or change gear while it was shut off. I had the battery and alternator checked and that was not the problem. I took it to the repair shop and they said it was the fuel pump. I researched online and saw several 2015 acuras were recalled with this issue but not my vin number. I have pictures that i took when it was last flashing if that would be helpful.
My name is [xxx] , in 2014 i walked into marin acura (located in marin, california) and leased a 2015 acura tlx. This was especially an exciting model due to it redesign. Within the first year of my lease i received a recall letter in the mail stating that their was a defect in regards to the transmission. I brought the vehicle to the dealer and they "fixed" it and sent me on my way. One year later, again, i received a letter in the mail from the automobile devision located at your corporate headquarters at 1919 torrance blvd, ca (nhtsa recall # 16v-640). The letter clearly states ?if this malfunction were to occur, it could result in an unexpected loss of motor power, which could reduce vehicle control and increases the risk of a crash?. It also states that the ?fix? will become available december 2016, todays date is november 7th, 2016. I have been driving this vehicle for 2 out of my 3 year lease and the transmission has been recalled twice consistently every year. I have put my two children and wife into this vehicle now knowing that the car could have possibly put my family and myself in physical danger and even death. Not because driving is dangerous but because there have been manufacturing defects with the transmission of this acura model and year. I cannot describe what it feels like to have that on the mind of a parent. I see this being handled in one way. Acura takes away the car and refunds me my total vehicle lease investment along with my down payment. Please take this matter into serious consideration as i am fully prepared to legally escalate this matter beyond the consumer-company level. I can't imagine how many acura 2015 tlxs there are nation wide. This experience has been a disaster financially, emotionally and according to acura potentially physically.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Acura tlx 2015 consistant draining battery issue for the past 3 years. The battery was replaced march 2019 while under warranty, malfunctioned 9 months later (dec. 2019) and was finally replaced elsewhere february 2020 (due to ongoing dispute with acura)... Now february 2021 the same battery draining issue has returned.
My car completely lost all power and died on the freeway. All the dash board lights came on and i could break or steer and the car was stuck in neutral.
2015 acura tlx 2.4 model has jerking between 1 and 3rd gear. While driving on a highway if feels as if the wheel alignment is off had a wheel alignment done didn't fix problem. Steering wheel needs to be held at an angle to drive straight. When trying to start the car i'll hear a clicking sound instead of it starting. Needs a jump to start happened 3 times already. Battery was tested results that i have good batter life.

Car stalled while stopping at traffic light twice in two weeks.both times car shut off completely.i had to put it in park and then restart the car.this is a safety concern.
While driving at 45mph the car lost power i.e., steering, brakes, stability control and transmission and was unable to unlock parking brake
2 different times while driving i75( 30-45mph heavy traffic) and then i16 (55 -60 mph rush hour traffic) the car stalls all lights flash off then back on and dashboard lights up first saying breaks the transmission, stability control. First time tech said fluke low voltage, second said car down shifts to 4th gear and gets stuck.
The vsa problem light & forward collision warning problem light came up while driving and the vehicle stopped & stalls all in a sudden.not sure if this is a safety issue, but almost got into a car accident.please help!thank you
Car won't crank and won't start.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the transmission light, the vehicle stability assist (vsa) and the precision all wheel steer system warning messages illuminated. The vehicle started to lose motive power with the accelerator pedal depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,571.
The onboard system crashed while i was driving. All the warnings on the dash went off. The car automatically went into park. When i placed the car into drive mode the parking brake would not disengage. I turned off and on my car the issues persisted. After i turned off and on my car a third time the car allowed me to drive it.
Brake light comes on when no car is around you avoidance brake light.
While driving straight or turning left or right, occasionally the car will fail to accelerate when the gas pedal is pressed. The engine appears to go to an idle speed for 1-2 seconds and then the car accelerates. This has been brought to the attention of the local dealer multiple times but they (and acura) are unable or unwilling to fix this problem. I have sent them video of the tachometer dropping to ~900rpm when this happens. They state there are no error codes or information that indicates anything is wrong. This seems to match safety problems 11121786, 10775339, 10695446, and 10694812.another problem the vehicle has is a shudder in the transmission at certain speeds. Shifting to a different gear makes the shudder go away. Dealer states this is just how the transmission works. Transmission was replaced around 51k miles. Old transmission did not have this problem. Dealer said a fluid change might help. It did not.
Car jumps when shifting between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd. If i take my foot off of the accelerator right before it shifts, it shifts and jumps forward. I own the v6 advanced 2 wheel drive model.
My car completely lost all power and died on the freeway. All the dash board lights came on and i could break or steer and the car was stuck in neutral.
Push button start often in cold weather will not start car.however, remote engine start function on the remote will work.if car was running and then turned off for a few minutes in cold, the car will not restart unless done through remote start
The vehicle has a bad hesitation which makes maneuvering in and out of traffic dangerous.several times while trying to accelerate and pass another vehicle i was almost rear-ended because of this hesitation.after several seconds of hesitating the vehicle lunges forward the rpm indicator shows a drastic increase and the engine fails to down shift properly.i have also noticed after i park my car and get out i notice a burning smell resonating from underneath the vehicle.i have brought my vehicle is for service the dealership has told me there are flaws in the tlx model and there is nothing they can do.i have also contacted acura corporate and they have been unresponsive.my feeling is the issues plaguing this car could pose a danger to the driver and other vehicles.
My engine got stalled while driving the car and i have to press on push button to restart the car. It's a safaty issue. I have seen a recall on these and verified if the repair is done and looks like it was repaired back in 2019.
My car lost motive power while driving about 20-25 miles per hour on a city street. I was turning towards the right into a roundabout when the car would not accelerate even though i was pressing on the gas pedal. The car continued to coast for a few seconds and then the engine started again.i do not think the car went into neutral because i did not have to push the ignition start button.
When the car running on normal speed and press brake for slowing the car try to jump and the rpm freaks out
The car has times where it stalls or hesitates significantly - this occurs worst in shifting from reverse to drive (there is a several second delay and then a surge forward), and there are hard shifts between 1-2 and 2-3 gears.there are also times where whencoasting and you apply throttle, it is unresponsive.there have also been situations where the car downshifts very hard and lurches forward almost uncontrollably (this has only occurred in sport+ mode).
Car is not starting. Battery drainage may be issue.
I noticed the first time i accelerated quickly to merge onto the interstate that the engine hesitated at least a second to second and half before accelerating.after that, i started noticing the same hesitation whenever i punched the gas pedal to either merge into traffic or pass someone.i have read on the internet where other owners of this vehicle have the same problem.i just took the car in for it's first oil change and i complained about this issue.the dealer ran several computer software updates on my car and said that it was up to date and that basically that is the way the car is.i feel this is a big safety issue.i have adapted to driving the car with this hesitation, but i'm not happy with it.i think acura needs to address this problem before someone gets hurt.
Since pickup, transmission has not acted properly--when transmission is first engaged it either thrusts the car forward or does not respond at all to foot on exilherator----i believe at this point it is a safety hazard. I do not allow my wife or kid to drive the car. It is brand new.
The transmission is extremely jumpy, all of the warning lights come on and flash, along with the engine will power down temporarily. For example one time i was going approx 50mph and it powered down to about 30 mph on the freeway. All of the warning lights start flashing, i pulled over turned the car off and then restarted it. The warning lights remained flashing but the engine functioned but the transmission still was jerky. This was happened at least 5 separate times and we have had it in service with acura several times and each time they try to fix the same complaints with a different fix. Most recently we had it in for repair for a week, we got it back, drove it 200 miles and the same error happened. Acura finally agreed to replace the transmission and i just picked it back up on 1/6/17 and the same error and transmission issue occurred today.we have notified the dealership, the nmvb, acura customer relations, and now we are reaching out to the nhtsa.we do not feel safe in this vehicle and we are afraid that the transmission will idle down again on the freeway but maybe in a lane that we cannot immediately pull over safely.
All repairs to my car have been performed at the acura dealor- pohanka acura located in chantilly, va. I have had numerous problems since buying the car on march 1, 2015. Apart from recalls, the main concern has been transmission, i have gone back and forth probably 30 times for same issue - transmission, yet the problem persists desoite it being changed once already. I am tired of wasting time at acura dealor.on october 23, 2019 while driving at a speed of about 55 miles/hr all the alerts and indicators lit up yet again in the dashboard and the car shifted to neutral and i could not shift any gears whatsoever. Within seconds car came to a complete stop and the indicators said to put the car in park gear as soon as possible, which i did. At this time i was in left lane with bad weather and almost got hit by a few cars. I was scared and literally anything could have happened. I called pohanka acura and they said there's nothing i could do to even bring the car in neutral to get it out of left lane to move it to shoulder.the alerts had come on once before as well, at which time i notified the dealorship - they disregarded the issue saying that no one else has reported this. The alerts went away after shutting off and restarting the car.not this time. I was left stranded in left lane. I am scared and concerned about mine and my family's safety. Are the technicians at pohanka acura not trained to troubleshoot the issues? why did i had to go and spend hours at a time to troubleshoot the same issues over and over again? did the dealor sell me a lemon? i have all documentation for each service call, but the space is not allowing me to write all the details and file size limitation is preventing me to upload all the service documents. Please help!
Engine failed to restart during 'auto idle-stop/start' at a traffic light on a busy road. In order to restart i had to press the 'start' button multiple times and return the car to 'park' before being able to resume operation.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated while attempting to turn on vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to norris acura located at 8559 baltimore national pike, ellicott city, md 21043, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that several wiring harnesses inside the engine compartment needed to be replaced due to rodent damage. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.
Car stalled while stopping at traffic light twice in two weeks.both times car shut off completely.i had to put it in park and then restart the car.this is a safety concern.
I turned off my car for a moment when i attempted to start back up it would not turn over at all.
At 70 mph the vehicle lost power, all warning lights came on, i had to maneuver thru traffic and drift to the shoulder, the transmission was locked up and could not be shifted from park to any gear, the accelerator would not work. The car had to be towed.the dealership said the vehicle computer had to be re-flashed/programmed. This condition could have caused an accident for an inexperienced driver.there are no fault codes indicated as to why or what caused this issue. I did find through research that a wiring harness is causing these conditions in the make, model and year vehicle. Also the transmission is related to this problem.
When i am at a complete stop with my foot on the brake, it feels like someone is bumping me from behind to make the car go forward.or another way of saying would be that the car is trying to accelerate when my foot is on the brake. Also, when accelerating, it feels at times like there is not enough gas and then the car starts speeding up. The transition is not smooth. I was told by the salesperson it was a shifting issue and the car needs to warm up. " it was not a big deal."the problem is there were days that it was warm outside.i have communicated my concerns to the dealer several times; however, they have yet to give me any answers or suggest it may be on a recall.i just contacted another dealer and they said my car is not on recall list.this is a huge worry that there are those of us who are not on the list who are experiencing problems. Clearly, there is a safety issue here and needs to be addressed sooner than later.
Almost immediately after bought i noticed my 2015 acura tlx 3.5l v6 jerked significantly between gears 1-3. I have a one-hour commute each way in stop-and-go freeway traffic, and the problem is hugely annoying. Frequently it jerks so hard that my head hits the headrest repeatedly. I feel like someone rear ending slowly, at the end of my commute, i'm wiped out from all the jerking back-and-forth.the dealer says acura is calling this "a characteristic of the vehicle" for which there is no fix. Apparently i just have to live with it; even though acura has extended-the warranty for 10 years of periodseems like acura dealership doesn't really wanna do anything about it. I went few acura dealerships and show them the recall notice which received in the mail still service advisors refusing diagnose the issue for free all they telling is change the transmission fluid and pay for the diagnoses. My car engine was overheated due toatf coolant fan malfunction even though acura had a recall on atf coolant, acura dealers made me pay $900. This car will definitely be my last acura if this issue does not get resolved. The thought of spending rest of the years getting my head banged against the headrest in a $40,000 car is extremely unethical and depressing.please be kind enough to be help me out to resolve this issue which in a quick manner for mine & others safety concern.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that the engine start-stop system failed to restart the engine after a complete stop. The contact had to manually restart the vehicle himself. The failure was experienced numerous times. The vehicle was taken to gunn acura (11911 ih 10 west, san antonio, tx 78230, (210) 817-1328) and sterling acura (4801 s ih 35 frontage road, austin, tx 78744, (512) 691-3800) to be diagnosed, but no failure codes were found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 21,000.
Can lost all power while driving 2 times. Stuck in neutral, should steer, couldnā€™t brake, all lights on dash board came on and told me to pull over and ally emergency brake when safe. Couldnā€™t shift car into park. Waited 30 mins with foot ok brake and car off, turned back on and was able to shift to park and all lights were off
Soy based wiring placed in vehicle by acura manufacture causes an attraction to rodents, squirrels, mice to eat the wires.
This car is a total lemon - do not purchase.i have had this car to the dealer 9 times in 12 months for non routine maintenance issues and it is getting towed there again today.myriad of issues from lack of brakes to jerking transmission to flat out won't start.i purchased an acura for a reliable car and that is most certainly not what i own now.i have an open case with acura corporate but the dealer (pohanka acura, chantilly va) will not stand behind the vehicles they sell.buyer beware of this car!!
Issue 1 - basically, when the car is cold (as in hasn't been driven for about 3 hours or more) it shifts pretty hard 1-2, 2-3, etc. Regardless of the ids mode. However, it seems that it is less pronounced in "econ" mode, probably because it softens the shifts a bit. Sometimes it is more noticeable than other times. It also seems that it is even slipping a bit when accelerating from a stop, kind of like in a manual transmission when you let the clutch slip too much. When the car warms up to operating temp, i really don't notice it shifting hard at all, and in fact the shifts are almost imperceptible 90-95% of the time. Issue 2 - when slowing down (say coming to a traffic light and not coming to complete stop and making right or left turn at say about 10mph speed or so and hit on the gas pedal to speed up, the transmission hesitates and doesn't know which gear to engage thus making a very jerky feel.issue 3 - i have noticed is that when coming to a stop, sometimes it really slams into first gear, and i mean hard enough to shake the car. This happens rarely, but when it does its very disconcerting.issue 4 ? there is the 3-4 second delay when i engage the car into the (d) drive position either from (p) park or reverse.
I own a 2015 tlx v4 tech and there seems to be an obvious problem, which the dealerships seems to neglect, with the transmission. I've had my vehicle checked out 2 times since i first purchased it back in july of 2015, and the dealership tech. Specialists know it is there but they aren't able to resolve the problem even through a "software update". The problem is that the vehicle jerks forward, sometime when making a stop it launches forward- as if someone had rear-ended me. The secondary problem is that when i merge onto the freeway there is a major lag and the transmission fails to shift. Takes about 3 seconds to engage to full speed which in terms it's extremely hazardous because of of other vehicles that cease to slowdown and give me the right-of-way. I demand the manufacturer be aware of this issues that i contemplate on a daily basis before something tragic happens to me or my fellow tlx drivers.
While driving on interstate i-15 in las vegas the car suddenly without any warning stalled and engine shutoff in the middle of the interstate. No warning messsages or indicators on dashboard. There was sufficient fuel in the car. Several attempts to start were made but were unsuccessful. Mu family and iwere dangerously trapped on the interstate for 30 minutes. I could not move the vehicle to safety. After 30 minutes i attempted to start and it started as if nothing happened and i was able to drive it again without problems. I am not a trained technician but i suspect it could be a fuel pump problem. I hace read that there have been recent safety recalls on acura/honda cars for fuel pump issues. Thank you for keeping us safe on our roads.
I leased my acura tlx v6 advanced 2 wheel drive starting in september 2014.right away, within the first week i started noticing performance issues.this vehicle has an extremely hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gear, causing the car to lurch forward unexpectedly.it is particularly noticeable in "sport" mode.it happens more consistently in stop and go traffic, which coincides with a situation that allows for less reaction time.it also has serious acceleration hesitation throughout all speeds. There have been multiple situations where while merging in traffic or accelerating onto a major highway i have almost been hit because my vehicle was unresponsive. My car has been into acura twice so far for this issue.the first time i was told it was a "known" issue but there was no fix.the second time i took my car in for the safety recall acura "changed out the transmission fluid" which was supposed to help - and it didn't.i have another appointment next week for the same issues.acura client care acknowledged that this is a known problem but that acura corporate does not have any solutions and it must be taken up with the dealership.the dealership just acknowledges the problem and says to take it up with acura corporate.this is a dangerous driving situation and i do not feel safe in this vehicle.acura obviously rolled this car out of the factory knowing they had issues (hence their launch delay in the first place) but were willing to take advantage of the consumer and had no concern for their customers' safety.buyer beware - do not purchase a tlx.
My car has about 74000 miles, and acura has changed the transmission and tcm once already. On october 23, 2019 while driving at a speed of about 55 miles/hr (on highway) all the alerts and indicators lit up yet again in the dashboard and the car shifted to neutral and i could not shift any gears whatsoever. Within seconds car came to a complete stop and the indicators said to put the car in park gear as soon as possible, which i did. At this time i was in left lane with bad weather and almost got hit by a few cars. I was scared and literally anything could have happened. This happened once before as well, but shutting down and restarting worked - dealer was notified but nothing was done. This time i was stranded. I am scared about my and my family's safety. My story is very long starting from day 1 when i bought this car on march 1, 2015 at pohanka acura in chantuilly va (the dealership), but the space is not allowing me to write the complete story. Acura is not doing much to resolve this issue or the dealership is not telling me the whole truth!
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while slowing to speeds between 3-5 mph, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate when engaging the accelerator pedal. The contact indicated that the failure was intermittent and occurred on several occasions. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200.
Car constantly shifts hard between gears 1-2 and when traveling down hill rpms increase and when the the bottom of hill it shifts hard in gear. The vcm makes the car feel like it's going to fall apart the system is faulty cause damages to other car components. When shifting into park on my pretty much flats road the car rolls forward all the time.
On june 7th 2020i was driving my car , it started to shake.as i started to drive back home to see what was going onall the problems showed up in the screen .i had to drive with my emergency hazard lights on because i couldn't go more then 25 mph or it would shake even more . We have at least 12 pictures of what's showing in the screen . We are only able to upload one .
Acura 2015 tlx advanced has hesitation or stumbles when trying to accelerate from low speed up to 40+ mph. (merging into traffic, passing, turning onto entrance ramp, or similar situations)has occurred from delivery.dealership has twice inspected and states that nothing is wrong.told me to try this "fix" and let us know.i have driven hundreds of miles in 3 loaner cars of exact same type and all have exhibited same failure.i am a driver with 55 years of experience.this is a design failure.this condition is unsafe and will cause injury or death.
There have been a couple of incidents where i will be driving and my car suddenly jolts and coasts to a stop. It seems as though the car is being placed in neutral while i am driving because when i press on the gas. It will just rev the engine. The check engine light will turn on as well. I typically turn off and on the car and the car will then work just fine. These incidents seem to happen when i am driving on a city street.
Low speed acceleration - shifting from 1st or 2nd or 3rd (not sure) gear to next gear is not smooth. It is a fairly hard shift.the rest of the shifting is smooth 4-9. Also automatic downshifting creates an odd speed up fora second to what seems like a rev match to try to make it smooth, but causes problems on slippery roads.alsoearly warning brake warning signal is very intermittent and works sometimes and not others in the exact same lighting situation and car position and same type of car directly in front of me.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that the rear view mirror was set to auto dim, which caused the driver not to be able to see out of the mirror. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.
Brake light comes on when no car is around you avoidance brake light.
The following warning messages all poped-up at the same time while driving the vehicle on a city street: brake system problem; brake hold system problem; anti-lock brake system problem; vihicle stability assist problem; hill start assist problem; lane keeping assist problem; power steering system problem; hill start assist problem; forward collission warning problem; lane departure assist problem; the message keep rotating while driving the vehicle and the associated dashboard light remains on. I suspect this might be related to acura service bulletin 15-050, but i have not confirmed this yet.
The car nearly stalls, rolled back 3-4 feet prior to restarting after the idle stop had in- gauged.the transmission shifts from 1-4 like someone who never drove with a clutch, even though it is an automatic. It hesitates and nearly stalls when doing slow maneuvering in and around parking lots and slow traffic. I have nearly had accidents due to the hesitation in traffic. When using cruise control out on the expressway, the car will not maintain its set speed on a downhill grade, it gets jerky and increases speed as much as 10-12 mph unless i ride the brake.i have had it back to the dealer twice now, the first time they did all the updates on the computer and fuel pump...its just as bad if not worse.the car is not safe and should have a complete recall!!!the next questions ask for a specific time and date...this is ongoing and has been happening since i purchased the car in january.

The onboard system crashed while i was driving. All the warnings on the dash went off. The car automatically went into park. When i placed the car into drive mode the parking brake would not disengage. I turned off and on my car the issues persisted. After i turned off and on my car a third time the car allowed me to drive it.
Picking child from school, car was idle while waiting, once i started to move, the car started to stall. I tried to press the gas but it wouldn't go and when it did, it was in short jerking actions. I was able to get over to the side. The full dash board lit up and the car finally cut off. After several attempts to restart it and 45 min later, it turned on again. It wouldn't go fast and dragged. Shop gave diagnostic and stated there was possible problem w the fuel pump and sensors cause dashboard to light up. They were able to turn it off. This was on 3/15/2019. The car currently has moments and think there may be a bigger issue. Called acura and they stated my car vin does not show any recalls so if it's the fuel pump i will need to pay out of pocket. Have auto shop report if needed

I recently purchased a 105 acura tlx technology package from cerritos acura, california.i just faint out yesterday that there are no safety child latches to secure my niece's carseat.according to your website, installation of safety latches for use on child car seat are standards on vehicles manufactured after september, 2002.do you know how i can get this resolved?thank you.
Vehicle purchase made on 2/28/2016. I have been to the dealership numerous times for various issues since then, mostly for transmission issue. The issues include jerky shifting from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd. Acura client relations decided to replace the transmission on my fourth visit/complaint. The rough shifting has somewhat improved, but it is still there. My last visit at the dealership and a test drive with district manager(dm) yielded: a) this is perfectly normal characteristic of the new 9-speed transmission. A feature that comes with wonderful fuel economy. B) vibration from vcm (variable cylinder management). I have never had this issue until the transmission replacement. Yet again, dealership states it is perfectly normal to show this 'characteristic'. Dm's response to my question, "how/why did i not experience this issue on my first full year?" was, "what gas do you put in? costco? they got less additives. There's carbon buildup forming in the engine". That was the response on a 13-month old vehicle. C) chirping noise from engine room. From research, it may be related to 'high pressure fuel pump' or 'insufficient belt placement', which acura has tsb out for servicing. But, dealership claims they cannot duplicate the noise, even with a recording of the sound. (it has to be audible during the test drive, they say)
Attempted to merge into an appropriate gap in traffic that was going approx. 45mph.car hesitated for roughly 2 seconds before downshifting into a lower gear in order to pick up speed, this caused other drivers to react to my much slower car not picking up speed as it should have.acura has been contacted many times and has failed to fix this problem, inherit in these cars from reading complaints online about this car.
My car completely lost all power and died on the freeway. All the dash board lights came on and i could break or steer and the car was stuck in neutral.
Hi, i have a problem with my transmission and i can push the car a feet or so when the car is in park. Or if parked in an incline i the car moves back atleast one fourth to half tire rotation.i saw a recall nhtsa recall no. : 14v-779that had vin ranges from begin :[xxx] end :[xxx]my vin number is well within this range and neither dealership or acura has any knowledge of the recall applied. I also don't see any recalls listed in safecar.gov as for this car as well. Need assistance is making sure either the recall is applicable or if its done already need necessary documentation.'information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
When coasting at low speeds, transmission downshifts and engine revs higher and car accelerates. Must brake to avoidpossible conlission

Transmission jerks when driving its totally un safe to drive on the highway.
I have been to the dealer 2 times for transmission problems.the car has poor acceleration and hesitates shifting.when ur trying to speed up it has a delay which has gotten me very close to 2 accidents.shifting is also very rough, it kicks in hard. The dealer did a transmission update and the problem persists.took it back again they scanned for codes and said they can't find any issue.i feel this car is dangerous and the transmission needs to be replaced before an accident occurs.

The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving approximately 75-80 mph, the vehicle independently shifted from drive into neutral. The contact was unable to shift the vehicle back into drive. The contact turned the vehicle off and back on, and was able to shift the vehicle into park, neutral, and drive; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to fayetteville acura (located at 2022 skibo rd, fayetteville, nc 28314, (910) 864-1449) where diagnostic trouble codes p0716 (pcm) and b2a60-97 (power train) were located. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was presently still at the dealer. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
Transmission has extremely bad jerk from 2nd to 3rd gear. Also, transmission tends to make car accelerate on its own sometimes. Also, downshifting is too slow to make an effective pass on a highway. Horrible, unsafe feeling transmission.
While my 2015 acura tlx was parked , the vehicle rolled into my neighbors driveway!! back to the acura dealership it went, acura confirmed it rolls in park, replaced the transmission, besides that the 2015 tlx stales out while driving intermittently very unsafe !!my brand new acura has spent half the time i've had it , getting repairs at the dealer.. I don't expect this from acura.
The vehicle is shaking at highway speeds , i have replaced the tires ,brakes , rims and the vehicle i am told from the dealer that my vehicle doesn't apply to known issue and there's nothing i can about it , i have had it balanced and road forced tested with no relief it's a concern as the vehicle instability has caused for new hubs and already on a vehicle less than 50k on the mileage
1. Step on accelerator and the car jolts forward like it is in the wrong gear or you slam the accelerator, or the clutch is released rapidly.jerks ones head back.2.come to a stop, transmission downshifts hard causing the car to lunge forward overpowering the brake.(engine at idle).most of the time it feels like someone has tapped you from behind. . when it occurs it is usually the first 2-3 times i come to a stop in a trip.3.driving on level or slight decline, let off accelerator and slow to make a turn to go up a hill, step on accelerator as you transition uphill transmission slips out of gear (as if you are holding the clutch in and releasing it too slowly) then searches for the correct gear required to go up the hill and accelerate.(engine near idle)4.most of my driving is in the city. . stop and go. . slow and go. . .

The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced a loss of power and the gear shifted into neutral. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. When the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, it resumed normal operation. Walker acura (8951 veterans memorial blvd, metairie, la 70003, (504) 464-4004) was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 189,000.
It seems like my brand new acura tlx is having issues with its zf 9-speed transmission. It hesitates and shifts hard going from 2nd to 3rd gear. A lot of tlx owners having this issue and there is currently a 9-page thread on acurazine about this issue. You can read more about this issue from this thread:http://acurazine.com/forums/problems-fixes-420/9at-hard-shift-1-2-2-3-a-919230/i took the tlx to the dealer and they have done a tcm reset and idle relearn. It seems that for a couple of days, the shifting was smoother after the reset. Unfortunately, the issue then recurred. My tlx still shifts hard between 2nd and 3rd gear. I'm a little bit concerned about safety. Sometimes, this hard shift or hesitation happens as i am turning left from a stopped position. I am concerned that i wouldn't be able to turn as quickly as i need to be. In fact, this exact thing happened this morning. I am thankful that the car that was going straight saw me and slowed down.
After purchasing the vehicle new, immediately noticed hard and delayed shifting. Shifting between 1-4 gears was very hard. At times transmission seemed to be confused and would either pick the wrong gear or would take 2-3 seconds to finally engage into gear. On one particular occurrence while driving in a parking lot at about 15 mph i approached a stop sign and let off the accelerator. As soon as i let off the pedal the car dropped into gear so abruptly that it made the car lunge forward about a foot or two. On another occurrence i was driving on a residential street going around a traffic circle once again at approx 15mph i let off the accelerator for a moment as i went around the circle. Just as i was exiting the circle i depressed the accelerator to move quickly away since i saw another vehicle enteringthe circle. At this point the rpm's went above 3500 and the car did not shift and did not move. It appeared that the car was in neutral. It took about 1-2 seconds before the transmission was able to "find" a gear at which point it lunged forward abruptly. Both situation i did not have control of the vehicle because of the transmission. Both situations i was unable to control the vehicle in a safe manor. I have also at times needed to accelerate quickly into a merge lane and when "stomping" on the gas nothing would happen for 2-3 seconds.
I own a 2015 acura tlx 2.4l 4 cylinder:1.on stop and go traffic the transmission is jerky (almost every time). This means that when the transmission shifts, it creates a shutter that reverberates throughout the car.2. After driving 1 mile or so and coming to a complete stop, especially during cold start, the transmission lurches forward very hard ( like someone rear ended) doesn't happen all the time but happens often to dislike (four times total). Very scary when you feel like you may rear end someone.4. When slowing down, say coming to a traffic light and not coming to complete stop and making right or left turn at say about 10mph speed or so, and hit on the gas pedal to speed up, the transmission hesitates and doesn't know which gear to engage thus making very jerky feel.5. Every time cold start, transmission shifts in 1st and 2nd gear are very hard.
When the car running on normal speed and press brake for slowing the car try to jump and the rpm freaks out
I feel my safety is in jeopardy when i drive this vehicle. Any time the tlx's brakes are applied and the accelerator is immediately pressed, the vehicle stalls and i have to let off of the accelerator for the transmission to catch and then the car will go. This is especially true at stop signs. This is what has almost gotten me killed multiple times. In one instance, i stopped at a stop sign, i pressed the gas to go because i had enough time to go before the oncoming car got to me, however the vehicle wouldn't go, so i floored the accelerator twice and nothing happened. The third time the vehicle horribly jerked and threw me out into traffic in front of the oncoming vehicle. After backing up, another problem, the vehicle continues to go in reverse for an additional 12 inches. 12 inches that should not be necessary when switching driving directions. This can be noticed on incline and no incline.
It did not.
Went in for a recall notice i received for my 2015 acura tlx specifying a possible faulty transmission in car - went to go have it looked at. Determined by tech that car was not experiencing exact issue in recall but car should have a tcm software update since it was jerking at the 2-3 shift. When i received the car back it was 10 times worse! still jerking but now was jumping on every downshift every single time the car decelerates on every shift! this is a safety concern that is very serious and needs to be addressed by acura - a new transmission should be called for since the car is under warranty. The car also just goes to 2-3 rpm's just while sitting idle in park now - my car's transmission is completely wrecked due to this tcm software update. Already called acura to request a formal complaint - they told me to notify you as well. - [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'
I returned the car the day after purchase because it was lurching forward upon shifting gears, the shift was very jerky. The dealer did not diagnose a problem. I tested the car in all 4 drive modes and there did not seem to be a difference in the jerking forward. The jerking problem continued and i again took it to another dealer in fl. This dealer also stated no problem. I called the dealer that i purchased the car from, chevy chase acura, and the sales person suggested i return the car to their dealership when i return to md. I emailed the service manager but have not had a response. The jerking forward issue remains a problem.
While driving ~40 mph on an expressway the car started flashing all these warnings on the dashboard including pull over and check transmission. Looking down i saw that the car was automatically put in neutral and the gas pedal wasn't working. I maneuvered the car to the shoulder and since it wouldn't shift into park i pressed the parking brake. If the road was any more crowded we could have been killed.
While driving my 2015 acura tlx the car shifted into neutral completely by itself while making left turn at a stop sign this caused the vehicle to not have the ability to move forward as i attempted to put the vehicle in drive it was completely unresponsive and left me stranded in the middle of the road almost getting hit by a semi truck. This is not the first time this issue has happened and i am afraid for my safety and the safety of my family. I gave acura customer service line a call since my vehicle was not on the list for current recall to fix the exact issue i am reporting and that there was nothing they could do about it.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph,his foot was removed from the accelerator pedal.the vehicle decelerated to 40 mph and then rapidly accelerated without warning. The failure recurred while decelerating to 20 mph. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10.updated 4/20/15the consumer stated when the vehicle was warm, it accelerated when down shifting and the rpm's would to 200-300.updated 04/23/15
Transmission is very jerky at low speeds when cold and hits a hard shift between 2nd to 3rd gear. All other gear changes are unnoticeable however 2nd going to 3rd always shifts hard. Read online and other owners are having the same issue. Despite the fact that certain cars are being recalled for transmission issues, all tlxs should be checked
Transshifts arevery jerky up or down.sometimes does not downshift when braking. Scares you when you have to slam on the brakes to slow down or throw car into "n".pulling out into traffic can be scary as there is often a delay between acceleration and the engagement of the tranny. Then the jerky shifting occurs. I am not always sure if my car will pull out into traffic quickly and safely without me being rear ended. I will not let my wife drive the car. I will be going to the dealer this week for service. I have waited this long because the sales person told me the car needs 5,000 miles to "break in" the tranny. I have noticed reading on the web that this seems to be a common problem with the new model (8 speed double clutch auto with 4cyl. Engine.) it seems that american honda has issued a tsb #15-021 (dated april 23, 2015. That addresses the problem, but i keep reading that this fix is not working and that many dealers are telling the customer"it's the way you drive it. We are notgetting any bad computer codes".american hondain concert with their dealership network are covering up adefect that is very dangerous safety problem.this is growing into a major problem...i will begin to document all future dealership paperwork in anticipation of filing a claim under my states lemon law. I will never buy another acura again. My first was an acuratsx and it was an excellent car. I am very surprised that honda has done down the tubes. By the way, this is the first acura model built in the usa versus japan. Had i known that ,i nwver would have purchased this car.
New car purchased in 2015. Currently has about 23k miles. Error lights flash on dash including "transmission system problems, blind spot info system problems, vehicle stability assist problem, all wheel steering problem, forward collision warning problem, lane departure waring problem". This is the third time that it has happened. First time, no video evidence of it but we did take it in to acura to look. No issue found. Second time we had a video, they did a software upgrade. Now again. Along with this, car had a transmission replaced, steering rack and pinion, sub frame, power steering assembly, list goes on.
Transmission issue as follows: shifts abruptly in 2 and 3rd gears. Car seems to shift up when braking then shifting down so it seems the car speeds up when it should be shifting down to slow down. When putting the car in park, the car rolls back abruptly.
Transmission issues. Car jerks from 0 to 20 miles. Hesitates. Brought back to dealer they did a software update. Still having same issue. Do not feel i have control of car when i accelerate. Will be bringing back to dealership. Leased car sept 2014 still have islamd issue.
Harsh shift from 2nd to 3rd gear.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving various speeds, the contact applied the brakes to stop the vehicle. When her foot released the brake pedal, the gear automatically shifted into neutral. The failure occurred without warning. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and it returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to davis acura (2051 e lincoln hwy, langhorne, pa 19047), but the failure could not be duplicated. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had no failure. The failure occurred several other times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.
2015 acura tlx leased from dealer with just 6 miles. The car exhibited very jerky shifts at low speed. There is usually, but no 100% of the time, one rough shift/vehicle motion just it hit a bump when accelerating from standstill, another one at around 15 mph, and one more of the same just below 40 mph. At times, the car will jerk forward just before it comes to a complete stop. The car also is very difficulty, nearly impossible, to bring to a smooth stop. Acura dealership had diagnosed the car and decided to update its transmission software. They didn't think anything was physically damaged. The car actually drove worse after the reprogramming. The car was rough and jerky at speed between 1 to 40 mph. After several days, the car/transmission seemed to have "learned" how to behave and now i am just left with the rough shift, jerking, and slippage like issues as i had before the service.i am going to the dealership for a second time for the stated problem on november 2. I am hoping that everything will be resolved or acura would take ownership of the problems and declare the vehicle/transmission was manufactured with problems that can not be corrected. I would like acura to either provide me with a tlx without the problems, or another comparable acura vehicle to replace the leased vehicle, or buy back the leased acura tlx.i would like the nhtsa to help address my particular issues as well as help other owners by making acura address the widespread problems with this particular year/model of the tlx.
There is a very rough upshift from second to third, on a long right hand turn when transmission is cold, in the middle of the turn, power to wheels disappears and reappears when road straitens, transmission/car surges forward on down shift 3 to 2 (sometimes).
Can you please investigate the 2015 acura tlx with the 9sp transmission?there is unintended acceleration when slowing down, unanticipated surging, and unexpected hesitation when attempting to accelerate.this is a known issue within honda but there has been no recall or public fix from honda.i included the purchase date of the car but the above happens at various times.http://acurazine.com/forums/5g-tlx-problems-fixes-420/9at-hard-shift-1-2-2-3-a-919230
Leased the vehicle on 12/7/2015 . After a few hours off the lot the the transmission shifted roughly from 2-3 gear. Also experienced sporadic gear shifts.
The vehicle is shaking at highway speeds , this does this between 55-75 mph the vehicle is shaking in the center of the car, this is at all times on highway and all road conditions this is on the awd model
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While stopped at an intersection, the vehicle jerked and stalled. The contact had to depress the accelerator pedal to get the vehicle to move. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 21,000.
When stop at a traffic light. The car goes into auto- off mode. When the light changes green and you apply the gas. The car shifts to netraul and will not go into drive.i have to shut the car off and turn it back on. I have had this happen three times since i purchased this vehicle three weeks ago. The car has 29632 miles on it.
Car shifts roughly when accelerating, just one of the lower gears, at around 10-15 mph.jerks noticeably all the time, whether car is warm or cold.i did not say anything to see if it was as bad as i thought, and a frequent passenger finally noticed and asked me about it.car does not take off quickly like i am used to.feels very slow and heavy.not sure if this problem will get worse with age/mileage, but i'm just hoping it won't become a safety issue.
Long lag and heavy clunk shifting from "r" to "d"; delay during acceleration after momentarily letting off gas - engine revs up and then the car slams into gear; occasional hard jerk after stopping (like the car has been rear-ended); random rough up and down shifting at slow speeds (under 40mph)car was purchased new and has had these issues since purchase.
It is shifting hard when it downshifts , it is slamming into gear when downshifting. When starting from a dead stop it sometimes will just rev up and not move, you have to let off accelerator then push again to get it to move. When cold the transmission jerks during normal shifting.this does not happen all the time, is only does it occasionally , it is at dealership right now and they say nothing is wrong.
Hard shifts on 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd causing whiplash-like reaction. Shifts occurs after what it seems to be a pause in acceleration then engine revs for 500 to 1k rpm before shifting, then the car will lunge forward. Acura has performed software updates. It reduced the hard shifts but it is still there. I have to tighten my neck and brace for a hardshift i know is coming.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and changed gear aggressively. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The dealer downloaded the computer software but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
I leased a 2015 acura tlx v6 9-speed automatic transmission on saturday, january 3, 2015.today i discovered that there is a recall for this car (based on the vin) and that in december 2014 honda motor company issued a stop sale order on this model.how was the dealership allowed to lease this car to me if a stop sale order was issued by the manufacturer?are they required by law to disclose any recall notices before selling or leasing a car?i would also like to complain about the reflection of the air vent grill in the side view mirrors. It is very distracting.i have owned six acuras since 1988, been a loyal customer of this particular dealership (2 purchases and 2 leases) since 2000 and am beyond disappointed with this vehicle.i feel that i've been completely conned and taken in by an extremely slick and false sales pitch.i've had such great experiences with acuras that it never occurred to me to doubt their word. To now discover that there is something technically wrong with the vehicle that may impact my safety and the safety of others, that the dealership should have been aware of this defect and recall notice, and did not inform me of such is reprehensible.
Car jumps when shifting between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd. If i take my foot off of the accelerator right before it shifts, it shifts and jumps forward. I own the v6 advanced 2 wheel drive model.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, the vehicle decelerated inadvertently. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated as designed. On another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently shifted from drive to neutral. The vehicle was restarted however, the failure recurred. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle but was not able to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.
When accelerating the car trips into neutral and will not let me continue accelerating.i can push the pedal all the way to the floor and nothing will happen.the only way it trips out of neutral is to release the pedal and then push it again. This happens when already driving around 10-30mph not from a stopped position and was on city streets.it does also happen when turning.
Transmission is skipping. I notified the dealer and they have not completed the transmission assembly replacement. I bought this to the attention of the dealer and the salesperson. The skip is happening between the first and second gear change; jerking between the two. This issue has been reported to all 2015 tlx owners. I am reaching out for your support to get this resolved. They seem to be avoiding responsibility to do these repairs.any re?commend dealers to complete the repairs
I have had many episodes with this car.the first one, i was stopped at a stop sign with a car ahead of, and behind me, when i released the brake, i tried to move forward, and it felt like i got hit from behind, the car lurched forward.another time, my husband was backing out of a parking spot, and he hit a telephone in front of him.he is unclear what happened.we had damage to the front of the car which we had to repair.another time,i was driving in economy mode in traffic, when i released the brake, and started to accelerate, the car didn't move initially, then after a second or two, it raced forward with my foot off the accelerator, and i hit the vehicle in front of me.only my car was damaged. The dealer and acura corporate then inspected it and i was told "nothing was wrong".many times now, while driving the car, it seems that the engine shifts into neutral while i'm driving it.if i continue to accelerate, it will be stuck for a few seconds, then propels me forward with a jerk. I was trying to do a lane change last week, and the car didn't respond to my foot on the accelerator, like the engine was "stuck".i was lucky there wasn't a car behind me, because i changed lanes, then abruptly slowed down.i treated it like a hydroplane, i didn't accelerate, and the engine returned to normal functioning.later that day, i was driving toward a toll booth, and again, i felt the engine shift and it wouldn't respond to my foot on the accelerator.this car is unsafe.i do not feel as if i can drive it safely. I am stuck in a lease for two more years.i would really like them to acknowledge transmission problems and get it repaired.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While drving various speeds, the vehicle shifted between gears very roughly. Additionally, the vehicle took an excessively long time to stop after applying the brake pedal. While the contact's son was driving 15 mph, the driver applied the brakes; however, the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the driver crashed into a pole. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a body shop where the cosmetic damage was repaired, but the cause of the failure was not diagnosed. On another occasion, while the contact's son was driving 10 mph, the driver applied the brakes, but the vehicle failed to stop again. As a result, the driver struck the preceding vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to dch montclair acura (100 bloomfield ave, verona, nj 07044) where the cosmetic damage was repaired; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The failure continued to recur and the vehicle was taken to ramsey acura (65 nj-17, ramsey, nj 07446) where the dealer updated unspecified software on the vehicle, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and suggested a different dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 7,500.updated 8/3/18
To whom it may concern,i own a 2015 acura tlx (4 cylinder model with 8 speed automatic transmission) which i purchased a few months ago and would like to file the following complaint:1.on stop and go traffic the transmission is jerky (almost every time). This means that when the transmission shifts, it creates a shutter that reverberates throughout the car. 2. After driving 1 mile or so and coming to a complete stop, especially during cold start, the transmission lurches forward very hard ( like someone rear ended) doesn't happen all the time but happens often to dislike (four times total). Very scary when you feel like you may rear end someone. 3. When slowing down, say coming to a traffic light and not coming to complete stop and making right or left turn at say about 10mph speed or so, and hit on the gas pedal to speed up, the transmission hesitates and doesn't know which gear to engage thus making very jerky feel. 4. Every time cold start, transmission shifts in 1st and 2nd gear are very hard. Dealership claimed to test drive the vehicle and then proceeded to tell me that this was "normal" for the transmission to do that. I find this very unacceptable! this car needs to be recalled and they need to find a resolution because this is a severe safety issue and a threat to my own personal safety. Acura, take some responsibility and fix this issue, i'm not the only one experiencing these problems.
Extremely inconsistent operation of 9 speed zf transmision. Have taken to dealer numerous times where they admitted the rough shift but said it was performing properly. Issues with transmision are as follows. Lags when up shifting in first two gears before neck snapping up shift to next gear. In midrange gears vibratatin can be felt while up shifting. Transmission is slow in down shifting, sometime starting off in second gear. Car drifts back a foot in park.
The transmission jerk between 1st and 2nd very excessively and going into park it's roomy before completely locking in
I was accelerating from 40 mph to 50 mph when the car suddenly stopped accelerating, beeped, and started flashing all system errors in orange on the dash display.the car would not go above 50 mph, as if the gas was being choked off at that point.car was towed to dealer.they had the car for a week before it was "fixed".the exact same error just occurred for a second time while i was accelerating and merging into a busy highway lane.car is again at the dealer for almost a week and counting.while it hasn't caused an accident yet, this is extremely dangerous.i was nearly rear-ended when my car stopped accelerating and started decelerating on a busy highway.in between these occurrences, i have had other random errors, such as the lane departure warning system activating while driving straight down the center of a lane.when this occurs, the steering wheel is "tugged" towards the direction it thinks it needs you to go.very dangerous when the car is trying to tug you out of your lane into another.the random errors that occur are all with the same systems that flash error warnings all over the dash on the two occasions that the car has stopped functioning properly.ldw, acc, braking system, vsc...all important safety systems!
Did my latest software update that came out on 02/09/15. Unfortunately it did not fix the problem . I am big honda/acura fan but the new tlx 8 speed dual clutch transmission is a big letdown. This is my first honda product that i am tired of and want to be replaced.here are some of the scenarios that the transmission does not act normal and could be dangerouslong lag and heavy clunk shifting from "r" to "d"; delay during acceleration after momentarily letting off gas - engine revs up and then the car slams into the gear that it finally selects - especially dangerous when coming out of a corner or attempting to accelerate after yielding in an intersection; occasional hard jerk when stopping (like the car has been rear-ended); random rough shifting at slow speeds, etc. These problems are not just uncomfortable, they're extremely dangerous!2. After driving 1 mile or so and coming to a complete stop, especially during cold start, the transmission lurches forward very hard ( like someone rear ended) doesn't happen all the time but happens often to dislike.4. When slowing down, say coming to a traffic light and not coming to complete stop and making right or left turn at say about 10mph speed or so, and hit on the gas pedal to speed up, the transmission hesitates and doesn't know which gear to engage thus making very jerky feel.
Acura tlx hesitates 1-2 second when turning left, right, making u turns and switching lanes on the highway. The response of the car is unpredictable and i will not let other family members drive it due to safety concerns. The shifts from second to third gear are overly harsh.i have taken the car to the dealer three times but the dealer states that the car is operating normally.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked on a slight incline, the vehicle started rolling backwards. The contact jumped back in the vehicle and engaged the parking brakes. Afterwards, the contact attempted to shift the vehicle into drive however, the transmission failed to respond. The contact was unable to shift the vehicle into drive or park. An independent mechanic was called out to the residence to diagnose the vehicle. The mechanic retrieved a temporary fault code of the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
I least a 2015 v6 tlx in 10/16/2014. Few days later i started felling the transmission shifting roughly and jerky from 2nd to 3rd gear causing the car to jump forward. This happens almost every time especially in stop and go traffic.another issue am having with this brand new car is the unresponsiveness in acceleration and the delay while trying to merge on the freeway or trying to change lanes passing another vehicle. By the time it accelerates, am either close to the vehicle in front of me or the approaching vehicle is close to rear ends me.also while accelerating through an intersection , this car fells like there is now power or the gear in neutral mode. These are very dangerous issues am facing with my daily driver. I don't fell the safety in this car for me or my family, especially we are expecting a baby in couple of weeks. Acura dealer keep on saying this is the way the car is and they have no solution.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving 20 mph, the vehicle jerked while accelerating from first into second gear without warning. The contact took the vehicle to joe rizza acura (8150 w 159th st, orland park, il 60462, (708) 403-7770) where it was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v640000 (power train). After the recall repair was performed, the failure continued. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer twice, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,000.
While driving at 60 mph in left lane of highway, without warning, the vehicle slowed and lost all acceleration and slowed, and then a series of warnings lit up on the screen including: electronic parking brake error, a transmission warning pertaining to the zf 9 speed transmission that demanded driver to pull over to the side to avoid major damage, and emissions failure warning.then numerous other warnings displayed indicating collision warning system issues, and warnings that other driver safety systems had disengaged or failed. The transmission automatically switched to neutral (which i could only figure out 10 seconds later) as the accelerator would rev the engine but provide no motive force, making changing lanes across 3 lanes of traffic on a busy highway very dangerous as my car decelerated relatively quickly to fast moving highway traffic. After i pulled over and stopped the car, i tried turning off the car and restarting the car, and the transmission error and emissions system error was immediately displayed and prevented the vehicle from being put into drive.i tried to get a hold of the acura towing service but was stuck on hold for 20 minutes and hung up.i started the car once again, and no errors were shown.i was able to drive 1/2 a mile and the transmission once again disengaged into neutral and emissions system warning came up again and i pulled over once again.i once again waited 20 minutes and restarted the car and drove 3 miles to a shopping center parking lot and let the car sit for 1.5 hours.when i returned, i started the car and everything seemed fine, and i was able to drive 35 miles home with the emissions system warning and transmission system warning displaying but the car remained in gear. I took the car to the dealer the next day (with the car still covered under extended warranty), and acura performed a software update (pgm-fi and tcm and pcm idle learn updates), for which they initially said i was responsible to pay for.
If engine stalls car places it self in park and will not let you put it in neutral. Therefore, you can't get the vehicle out of harms way.this is a safety hazard.
Vehicle 'hesitates' or 'stumbles'.usually between 10 - 30 mph when trying to accelerate such as turning in front of oncoming traffic at a light, entering an expressway, or passing.engine/transmission pauses 1 - 3 seconds before rpms move vehicle forward.seems like transmission doesn't know what gear it is in or needs to fulfill the demands of the driver.i am afraid to drive not knowing when it may fail completely placing me and other motorists in harms way.related may be the car on cruise control.vehicle speed can vary by 10 - 15 mph.dealership and acura claims vehicle is performing as designed.if this is true then i have no recourse but to drive an unsafe vehicle.there are an excessive amount of similar complaints on the internet along with a class action suits.this failure was evident during test drives but i felt it was my driving technique.in all i have driven three of this exact model and they all exhibit this failure.
The vehicle unexpectantly shifted out of drive to neutral while going up an inclined road at about 45 mph. The background of the neutral gear "n" indicator was yellow. Engine power was lost for approximately 5 seconds and then recovered when the transmission shifted back to drive without any intervention. I don't recall seeing any kind of error message when this occurred, but it is possible it could have been missed while i was frantically trying to figure out what was happening. After researching this issue on the internet, i discovered that there was a safety recall (16v640000) for a similar consequence which only applies to select vins. My particular vin is not part of the safety recall. The performance of the transmission has always been worrisome.i am the original owner.the transmission rarely shifts smoothly going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gears even after multiple attempts to get this corrected at my auto dealership.it is still not satisfactory, and this latest episode just adds to my consternation.acura has provided an extended warranty for transmission failure if it is related to the atf warmer.i expressed the issue and my concerns with acura.the case number is not officially open until the issue is diagnosed by an acura dealership.
Transmission is really rough when shifting to gears 1,2, and 3. It is getting worse the more i drive. Also, very slow and rough shift from park to drive. When i am driving uphill from a full stop, i hear a loud thud and feel a hard jerk when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd. When i am driving downhill and approaching a stop, it dangerously accelerates the car forward after shifting down to 3rd, 2nd, and 1st gear. It is also very abrupt and jerky during those shifts down.
While driving the vehicleand coming to a stop, once stopped it feels like the vehicle is pulsing or shuttering forward , and when trying to accelerate the rpms go high and the vehicle jolts forward (transmission failure? the 2015 acura tlx 4 cylinder tech package is currently at the dealership for a week and a half!!! i'm not a very happy customer.
Car dash lights came on blinking. Transmission problem, emissions problem, engine problem, awd problem, electric parking brake problem, blind spot problem, and lost power. Car wouldnā€™t shift and stayed between 4-5rpm . This is the 6th time this has happened. Wouldnā€™t down shift even when trying to manually. Drive gear light kept flashing
I leased an acura tlx (4-cylinder) in october 2014. Almost since the beginning, the transmission of the car has been very jerky and stiff, especially when cold. There are times when pressing the gas pedal produces no effect, and there have been times when i have pulled out into an intersection and the transmission seemed to shift into neutral, leaving the car motionless for seconds. The hard shifting occurs primarily when the car is cold, and in the lower gears. The feeling of shifting into neutral occurs randomly with no obvious contributing factors. I returned the car to the dealer when the car had about 200 miles on it, and they claimed to find no problems. I have not returned to the dealership since (the car has about 5300 miles on it now), but i will be returning in the near future.
There is an issue with the tlx awd transmissions.car doesn't shift properly and reports or surging or gears not engaging are being reported.http://acurazine.com/forums/problems-fixes-420/9at-hard-shift-1-2-2-3-a-919230/
I have a 2015 acura tlx 4cyl.it is a very nice looking car however there is something wrong with the transmission.i have taken it into the acura dealership and they have confirmed that there is something wrong however they are not sure what.all they tell me is that there are no codes coming up telling them what it is.they just tell me that everything is documented so if and when there is a recall i have proof that it has been ongoing.when you are stopped and then proceed to go the car will jerk and hesitate to shift to next gear.this can happen while you are driving also, if you have to brake and then start again. Its very upsetting i have owned acuras before, the acura tl and the acura integra, both cars had a high performance.this car not so much.when is acura going to do something about this??there hasn't been just one episode this is an everyday occurrence.
When driving at approximately 40 mph the car suddenly accelerates. I first noticed problem when coasting downhill, but now occurs on level highway also. Also there are periods when one tries to accelerate from a stop or from reverse to drive that the transmission hesitates before shifting into gear. At that point the engine has revved up causing the car to lurch forward when the gear does engage. Additionally even after a recall, the parking gear slips allowing the car to roll down hill. These problems have resulted in near accidents.updated 11/18/15*lj
When accelerating from a stop when the transmission is cold, there is a lag time from the time the accelerator is pressed to the time the car moves, and when the car moves,it lurches through the first few gears.can be dangerous if not totally paying attention.also, when approaching a stop, as the electronic transmission downshifts to the lower gears, the car also can lurch when getting to the first gear.when backing up and going from r to d, there is a 2 to 3 second lag until the car goes into d mode.when backing out of driveways, give yourself plenty of time!i have had the car in 4 times for "software updates", but it does not address any of these issues.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. After the contact started and exited the vehicle, it rolled backwards. The contact mentioned that the emergency brake was not engaged. The vehicle came to a stop when it struck another vehicle. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
Transmission is jerky. Does not shift smoothly in 2 and 3 gears. Sometimes accelerates before downshifting transmission seems ok in higher gears.car does not accelerate properly in low gears. Makes driving risky and difficult until car is in higher gears.
My 2015 acura tlx hesitates when changing gears, does not accelerate when gas pedal is pushed and the shifting out of parking position is noisy and harsh. Acura has provided a defect code for my complaints (03214) and software updates (operation number 1255a2 and 1255c9), which have been performed on my vehicle.none of these have fixed the problem.lemon law favored in the manufacturer's side and the arbitrators say it is not a nonconformity.honda's lawyer says that i did not take it in enough times and that hesitation for a moment is not a concern.acura says they would not change my car because they all drive the same and that i am just not used to driving a vehicle like this one.the biggest problem with the car is that as it comes to a stop at an intersection or traffic light, it lurches forward extremely harshly as if i was hit by another vehicle in the rear.this is so bad that i have been experiencing lower back pain and have to take pain killers at times.and of course, i have to take this into account every time i have to brake, in order to avoid an accident.you must know how frustrating it is to have to worry about this each and every time i am reaching a stop sign or traffic light..the car does it sometimes and others it doesn't, so i have to try and predict how it is driving that particular day.this takes away from me the ability to control my car in an emergency situation.also, there was one time when i needed to make a left turn and my car felt as if it were in neutral, did not accelerate and then after a moment decided to drive forward.thankfully no car was coming, if not it would have been an accident.i have to now make sure that cars are far enough so that if it does hesitate again i won't be putting my family and i at risk.i hate having to drive my vehicle because it is unpredictable and i feel very unsafe.
Please investigate acura on their 8 and 9 speed transmission. The transmission hesitates and jerks between shifts, is unresponsive to downshifts (unless it is in sport mode), reluctant to up shift at times, grinds at certain speeds and you can move the car a half foot in park. Most time, this is frustrating and upsetting for an upmarket vehicle, some times it is concerning as you feel you cannot control the car and could cause an accident. I have taken it back to acura 5 times and despite software updates and a "new" transmission, nothing has changed.i met with the acura mid-atlantic rep and he said this is the way the transmissions behave so honda can meet the government fuel economy requirements.i had a high-gear transmission before this car and never had these issues. I have read about the same problem on other sites and in car magazines yet honda/acura is doing nothing about it besides "software updates."this transmission, produced by zf and installed in other vehicles such as chrysler/fiat has the similar issues.what can be done about a product that is clearly faulty?thank you.
The transmission shift from 2-3gear gives a jerk to the whole vehicle. This is usually problematic while accelerating specially in heavy/busy traffic or at traffic signals. I believe this could be a threat to public safety. The service center claims the "intelligent car" will learn my driving habits and adapt. However, this has been happening since i bough the vehicle and multiple visits to acura service center has not resolved the issue.
Car has 15k miles-from the time of purchase of my 2015 tlx shawd, vehicle exhibits ( 1)rough shifting, (2) unpredictable transmission response on downshifts on highway affecting the throttle and (3) freefall feel when downshifting on downhill.issue (1):service bulletin done to "fix" the shifting, and although better, still exhibits the rough shift. Brought the car 3 times to acura and response is "working within spec" even when the tech noticed the hard shift and compared it to a 2016 model with no shifting issue. Now every time i know the 2-3 shift is coming, i anticipate a hard shift and have to tighten my neck muscles just in case it jerks and could cause a whiplash feel.issue (2): when stepping on the gas pedal to make a pass on the freeway, transmission reaction time is unpredictable when at times, nothing will happen for 2 seconds, then the car will surge. This poses a safety issue due to: a. Not being able to keep up with the speed of incoming traffic due to delayed reaction and, b. The sudden surge after the 2 second delayed-reaction could result in hitting the car in front. Acura released tsb 16-012 to fix this issue but does not cover earlier vin, which include mine.issue (3):when going downhill and car downshifts, whether manually or automatically, car surges forward giving a freefall feel before it slows down. Again tsb 16-012 was supposed to fix this but does not cover early vin ranges.acura continues to insist that the transmission is within spec and yet, the 2016's have a different part number for their transmission. The fact that it performs differently also proves otherwise that the early versions are faulty.
While the vehiclewas unattended (no driver present) and transmission was engaged in park; i was present when using the remote started.upon starting (vehicle was started), it rolled up a slight inclined drivewayroughly 3-6 inches , under power; then rolled back she same distance. Then a distinct click was heard.the car continued running in idle as normal with the remote start. Acura has reported transmission issues with the potential for the car to disengage from park (model sh-awd) and roll away. This car was recalled for "roll" while parked and not running, , but passed and inspection by the dealer. Unlike the previous recall this issue entailed a "shift into forward",from park, under power while unattended.i notified acura customer service to report it, was told to bring it in, but if the issue cannot be recreated then it cannot be repaired.this event coupled with the previous recall, has me concerned that acura is not addressing serious safety concerns of its consumers.
E-shift provides no feedback when shifting to p or d (only when shifting to r).e-shift often fails to engage.on one occasion, while reversing, i attempted to engage p, but it did not engage, and car rolled back into an object, causing damage.e-shift also requires excessively deliberate inputs, which has caused difficulty executing 3-point turns in traffic.
From takeoff, the gear shift from 2nd to 3rd is "hard"/firm/jerky.almost as if there is a power hesitation then slams hard into gear.this is only gear shift position where a problem exists.only happens from dead stop takeoff.
You put the car in park and it rolls away. Very dangerous!
Reflection rear view mirrors ac vent. Also abnormal shifts low speed
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While the vehicle was stopped in traffic, several warning indicators illuminated. In addition, the emergency parking indicator began to flash and the brake lights constantly illuminated. The contact pulled over, shut off the vehicle, activated the emergency parking brake, and restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The contact repeated the process and received the same results. The contact informed the dealer who had the contact reset the vehicle, but the failure remained. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v779000 (power train). The approximate failure mileage was 61,185.
As the car is downshifting and coming to a stop the transmission jerks forward just as the car is coming to a complete stop or immediately after it stops. Does this every so often and the dealer did reset the transmission for it to relearn but still does it since and because they can't drive it enough to duplicate it there has been nothing they can do to resolve it.
With only 12000 miles and less than a year of having the brand new vehicle, the transmission went out completely and left me stranded. It was acting a bit funny that morning driving, when i went to start it again, all warnings went off and i was unable to put the car in gear.
Issues with transmission shifting.1. Delay of acceleration at low speed such as at an intersection (4 occurrences) where making a turn car does not readily accelerate due to being in too high of a gear while in automatic mode. After about 2 seconds, car downshifts and resumes normal acceleration. Has not recurred in at least a month.2. Rough shift (lag) when car upshifts from 2nd to 3rd. This has been present since purchase and occurs regardless of what mode (auto/manual) is selected. Has not improved.3.within last 30 days, vehicle is not downshifting correctly when coming to a stop. Car does not actually downshift into 1st until after it is at a complete stop resulting in a lurch. No matter how smoothly the car is brought to a stop, the final downshift in auto mode doesn't occur until after reaching a stop. The problem does not start to happen until engine/car is warm as the first few complete stops when cold are 100% ok, then after warmed up it will occur every time thereafter. 4. When engaging drive or reverse, the vehicle will begin to accelerate slightly without pedal input such as when backing out of a parking space. Contacted dealer and dealer said no instructions from maker or tsb's yet and that transmission was new model and maker not sure what to expect. Told dealer i would drive the car for a few more weeks to see if situation improves. Did not take car in for check based on dealer comment that there was no instruction from acura yet for a fix. Vehicle is now 3500 miles and issues 2, 3, 4 still occurring.
While slowly driving my 2015 acura tlx into my home garage and putting the car into park with the red light indicating the parking gear was engaged and letting my foot off the brake my car suddenly lurched forward about two feet before i could stop the movement resulting in damage to my drywall.the first time this happened was shortly after i purchased the brand new car and i assumed i may had not had the car properly in park and no damage occurred and it may have been caused by so called driver error.when it happened the second time 8 months later my wife and i were both in the car and observed the red parking light was on indicating the car was in park when my car suddenly lurched forward causing the damage.the acura dealer asked to keep my car in an attempt to "replicate" the problem for about 17 days until it could be inspected by dpsm (acura's description) and i was told no problems were detected.in researching this problem i discovered this was very similar to a prior 2015 acura tlx recall instituted last year by nhtsa.the acura service department reacted as if they had never heard of that recall until i gave them a copy of the information posted on the internet.the only suggestion offered by the dealer after their inspection was to keep my foot on the brake when the car is in park until the engine is completely stopped and engage the parking brake.the mileage on my odometer was under 4,000 miles at the time of their inspection and my car is kept in a garage when i am at work and at home so environmental causes should not be a factor. I feel very fortunate that minor property damage was the only loss we encountered from this undisclosed safety defect and hope this problem can be remedied before more serious consequences occur to other tlx drivers.
Hesitation when pressing on the gas pedal not safe when changing lanes on the highway and needing to gain speed quickly.hard shift from 2nd gear to 3rd gear causes the car to jerk when driving normally on city streets. Unsuspecting passengers may experience whip-lash.
Car jerks noticeably when shifting from transmissions gears 1 to 2 and then from gears 2 to 3.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving at 60 mph, the vehicle shook violently. The failure also occurred when shifting from first to second gear. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 550.
Vehicle lunges forward after making a complete stop. It's very dangerous at stop lights and crosswalks
I bought the car july of last year (2020) and noticed the car was a bit jerky when i accelerated from a complete stop. But as i started to drive the car more i noticed it was jerky shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears. Its a violent jerk. Everyone in the car whiplashes when it happens. When i go downhill and press on the brakes to slow down it gets a sudden burst of speed and doesn't slow down but goes faster even when pushing on the brake. On the dashboard i have multiple lights that won't turn off. The lane keeping assistance, lane departure warning, forward collision warning as well. I havent gone to the dealership or have had checked out by acura or anyone just yet. But i know other people have the same exact problems and its a real danger to drive and these things happen on a daily basis. Im sure its something with the transmission and something needs to happen because i love this car and worried about safety of me and others out on the road
I leased this vehicle in september of 2014 and immediately had concerns with the transmission.the shifts between gears were extremely rough and choppy.when the vehicle was at a stop, i would press on the gas to move into traffic, but the vehicle would not respond; instead, the rpms would rev all the way up to 4-5 and after a couple seconds, i would be lurched into oncoming traffic.i have almost gotten into two significant accidents due to this issue.i have now had to change my driving completely to allow for more time in an intersection to avoid being seriously hurt or killed.the dealership and honda motor vehicles both refuse to be responsible for this issue and despite my vehicle being in for repairs four times now, claim they are "unable to duplicate the issue."rather than taking responsibility for this issue, they accuse me of driving "aggressively."please do not buy or lease this vehicle.it is a major safety issue that the company will not/has not resolved.
This car continues to jerk back and forth, fail to find the right gear, and downshift suddenly regardless of what driving mode you're in.there have been times when pressure is applied to the pedal and nothing happens creating dangerous road situations.the transmission is a complete failure and i've been told that there is nothing the dealer can do about it.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving 35 mph, the gears shifted hard and the vehicle shook violently. There were no warning indicators illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (acura of avon, 75 albany turnpike, canton, ct 06019), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was 36,000.
Vehicle shifted into park while driving between 35-40 miles per hour.
The car lunges forward when i take my foot off the gas and have very little time to apply the brake.as a result, the car seems to pull forward and require additional braking to stop.very rough shift between second and third gear.there is also a delay or hesitation with acceleration.the dealer told me they could not pull any diagnostic error codes, all the other cars on the lot they tested have the same problem and they received numerous complaints.the dealer is waiting on acura to come up with a solution.
After driving on freeway about 5 hours transmission suddenly went into neutral and a transmission warning light displayed on the dashboard. Numerous big rigs were around me at the time that came close to colliding with my vehicle.
Transmission rough abnormal shifts at rpm 1000, stop and go driving .
9 speed zf transmission shifts roughly from 1-2 and 2-3 with 2-3 being the worse.dealer service states this is normal for the transmission do to torque matching or something like that.i find that hard to believe based on all the other issues this transmission is having in other manufactures vehicles.
Now that the vehicle has crossed 30k miles the power train is now not as responsive and i'm some situations aggressively jerks the car forward when downshifting when the vehicle is coming the a stop. This also occurs when the vehicle is going from a compete stop, the vehicle jerks back as the transmission up shifts for the next gear.
Vehicle has inconsistent shifts in lower gears.also, shifting is inconsistent when pushing down on the accelerator.
My car is not shifting correctly, its hesitating and making a noise
The car has a had a hard or delayed shift from reverse to drive when cold from the time i bought the car, but last week the car slipped/shifted out of gear like it was in neutral when i accelerated from a stop to go through an intersection. The car was in economy mode at the time. Acura did an update on the transmission for hesitating and lurching around january 15, 2015. The car is at thedealership now.
Powertrain:in 19 months of ownership, my 2015 acura tlx's transmission has failed twice.the first time it failed (10 months), it would not enter into reverse, drive or neutral upon starting.it took special towing too.the second time it failed (19 months, 22k miles), i was driving in rural texas at 70 mph and the transmission switched into neutral, warning lights exploded and i had to safely work my way to an exit ramp and onto the frontage road.i then had to wait for 2.5 hours for a tow truck which then resulted in a 2 hour ride in a tow truck to bring it to the dealer.suspension:within a week or two of buying the acura tlx, the car began to develop a vibration that i could feel through the accelerator and steering wheel.i could visually see it in the passenger seat as it would shake substantially (nearly violently).on a drive, the car shifted violently and momentarily in a lateral motion at 80 mph while passing another car which scared the wits out of my passenger and me.dealer changed the tires, investigated the passenger seat and the shudder/vibration would not go away.i got sick of taking it into the dealer only for it to return to me in the same condition.after 1 year, the road noise in the cabin grew and my passengers would complain.finally the dealer identified that the right rear wheel bearing was bad.once replaced, the road noise and vibration improved considerably.however, when i drive a loaner from the dealership, it drives much smoother than my car so the problem is still not fully fixed.other:in the first 2 weeks, i noticed that a torrent of water would run down the inside of my rear window and into my back speaker compartment after a heavy rain.it turned out that the back window was not properly installed.a brand new car that has numerous significant manufacturing and quality problems!unacceptable!!!
Airbag and seatbelts warning sign is on.states it's not covered under warranty. This happened to a few others as there are forums online about this
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving, the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) failed. The contact stated that seat belt pretension which was a feature of the collision mitigation braking system failed to engage. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact was informed by the dealer that the system was functioning as designed. The contact also stated that the forward collision warning system with pedestrian detection functioned as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.updated 2/4/16
Purchased a brand new vehicle in september'15 and since day one i have been experiencing vibrations during highway commute. The car has been serviced 5 times so far the vibration has actually been made far worse then what they used to be. The seats, the seat buckle, even my child car seat vibrates/shakes when driving. The vibration can be felt all over the body when driving. The vibration is soo bad now, that the car is unsafe to drive on a highway.

I was stopped close to mailbox for my rental home and had the engine running, brake hold was on and when i unbuckled the car automatically engaged the parking brake without shifting the gear to park. I got out of the car, took the key, collected themail and got back in. The problem appeared when i got back in. I managed to engage the car into drive mode, but seems like the parking brake did not completely disengage. The vehicle started to move in jerks and spurtsas if the drive was happening with the parking brake still engaged. The foot brake wouldn't work and it was a really scary moment for me, but thankfully was able to shift the gear back to park mode. I turned off the engine and the system reset itself. For a while i didn't know what to do as the vehicle was moving but couldn't apply the foot brake at all. It could have been catastrophic under different circumstances. I am not sure how to approach acura or the dealer with this problem and how to have them inspect it. I am not even sure if they will agree to inspect it for safety issues.
My wife was involved in a car accident in which our car got t-boned on the driver side.my wife was completely blindsided and all the airbags on the driver side deployed and when she saw the smoke she thought there was a fire so she told my mother in law to quickly get my 2 yr. Old child out of her car seat. As my wife and her sister who was also sitting in the front started walking towards the back of the car to get me daughter out of the car our car started rolling back even though it was smashed to the right side of the rode and was at a complete stop.meanwhile her mom was in the back trying to get out of a moving car which she thought was on fire. Since the car started rolling back into oncoming traffic my mother in law who was holding my daughter got dragged along the pavement with my daughter in her chest because her leg got stuck in the car. She finally got out of the car as it was rolling past the middle of this busy street but the car kept rolling back until eventually the back bumper rolled into another car.my wife swears she put the car in park and has no idea why the car started rolling back and obviously she wouldn't get out of a moving car so you know the car had come to complete stop.when we called acura to report this issue they chalked it up to my wife leaving the car in neutral but the car was not smashed onto a hill and the road was flat.furthermore we found online there are parking brake issues with the tlx but the acura rep stated the recall was not for our vin#.my daughter and mother in law could have died from this issue but acura really didn't show any concern.

Driving at approximately 15mph went to stop for traffic and brakes failed. Rear ended jeep grand cherokee. No pedal pulse for abs roads were not slippery.
My vehicle has only 36526 miles.the brake pedal goes down to 2 inches from the floor and is a major traffic hazzard. I have attempted numerous times unsuccessfuly to make an appointment with elite acura in maple shade, njno answer at service dept. Today, 6/8/21, i contacted acura customer relation and the rep. Could not contact elite acura as well.she did assigned case # 12275613.this is traffic accident waiting to occur.can you help me?
In an impact with a parked car that totaled the tlx , the airbags never deployed which led to injury to the drivers chest and the hip of the passenger in the front of the car.the attached picture show that the front in is crushed while the inside pictures show that the airbags never deployed.after the impact the car could not be controlled.per driver, she tried to break, but car did not stop.she tried to turn power off at ignition but that did not stop.put car in park but it continued rolling backwards until the car impacted a retaining wall damaging the backend of the car.still, acura safety system never deploys airbags.according to the driver, after the collision all systems failed.she was unable to brake or stop the car with gears or turning power off.we have more pictures.it seems i was only able to load 1.consumer has reached out to the manufacturer.'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated the check admission and the check parking brake system warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for a diagnosis (scanlon acura located at 14270 s tamiami trail, fort myers, fl 33912) but the technician was unable to detect the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 27,000.
The contact owned a 2015 acura tlx. While driving 50 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle became difficult to stop. The contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle, flipped over, and rolled until it stopped. The air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The driver sustained injuries and was transported to the emergency room. The contact sustained injuries to the back, face, and both knees. The vehicle was towed and destroyed. While driving at 45mph the car lost power i.e., steering, brakes, stability control and transmission and was unable to unlock parking brake
(1) when at a complete stop with foot on the brake, it feels like someone is bumping the car from behind to make it go forward.(2)the car is cold with the temperate at 70 degrees and on auto - dealer suggested manually change the temperature to 85 degrees - car will become very uncomfortable.have to manually keep changing the temperature every 10 minutes to make car comfortable.
My 2015 acura tlxwith just over 32,000 miles stopped steering after being parked in my garage. Restarting vehicle didn't correct problem. Car was illuminating a warning light indicating there was a problem with steering. Took it to the acura dealer who informed me the steering column had a crack in it that was a result of physical damage. Car had not been in an accident or otherwise damaged prior.acura mechanic could not explain how the steering column got cracked other than i ran over something which had not happened because had i run over something to damage the column, the light would have illuminated to indicate that something was wrong. The dealer was informed that the car had been parked in my garage when it stopped steering and that prior to this the car was easily parked in a 2 car garage that already had my husband's car in it. No lights indicating there was a problem had previously been on and once the lights came on the car was impossible to steer. Therefore, it had to be towed from my garage. Acura refused to repair the steering column insisting that it was caused by physical damage. A complaint was filed with the corporate office and when the investigator called, she asked no questions. She only called to inform me that the $3000. Part would not be covered because of physical damage. Another independent mechanic stated that it was likely the steering column had been cracked for a while before it completely stopped workingand it was a strongpossibility that the steering columncracked over time due to some malfunction of the part. In his estimation, the cracked portion of the steering column is well protected and difficult to break unless involved in a serious front end car accident in which the car had never been in an accident. Running over something would not have likely caused the type of damage seen on the steering column.
The vsa problem light & forward collision warning problem light came up while driving and the vehicle stopped & stalls all in a sudden.not sure if this is a safety issue, but almost got into a car accident.please help!thank you
Vehicle has a vibration that shakes passenger seat between 65-75 mph. Seems to be a safety issue and occurs every time the vehicle is at the speed listed.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving approximately 5 mph, there was a loss of power steering and the warning indicator illuminated. The steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The engine was turned off; however, after restarting the vehicle, it resumed normal operation. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering linkage was not faulty. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was pending to be taken back to the dealer for a second diagnosis. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 6,315.updated 02/23/16*lj updated 04/25/18
While in motion, the vehicle begins to veer to the right. An immediate correction is made but the wheels don't respond.after several seconds, a grinding noise is heard from the back and the car shakes. After that happens, the car drives normal. This has happened at slow speeds, high speeds, going around curves, and driving straight. I have gone off the road once because of this. It has happened five times in approximately 8600 miles (9 months).
The vehicle has rear steering paws. When vehicle was on a tire shop lift the rear suspension inspected. The rear wheels have side to side play. No up and down movement though. Feel like a bad wheel bearing when moving side to side. The rear actuators on both sides move. Dealer said normal. My car shakes all the time. Dealer said normal. People on acura forum. Said experiencing same problem. If they move the car in s going to shake. I don't feel safe. Acura won't do anything. Car is still under warranty. Only 40,000 on car.
While driving the power stering stopped working without warning. This happened 3 times on 112115 to get the stering back you must find a place to pull over place the car in park shut it off and than restart car not always an easy thing to do.
I've purchased a 2015 acura tlx approximately 1 week ago and the chrome outline on the air vents has anextreme glare when looking at the side mirrors.on dec 5th 2014, i notified the service technician but he said that's the first he's heard of it and dismissed the complaint as faulty.this appears to be a design flaw and safety concern and needs to be remedied as the mirror should be showing me what is outside the car, not what is inside the car.
Ac vent reflection in both rear view mirrors.
My sunroof spontaneously shattered while driving down the highway, dropping shards of broken glass all over me
I was washing my car and i noticed paint just chipping away as the water hit it and it just keeps getting worse and worse to the point where it was very noticeable and started bothering me. There was already a recall on this color but just not for this model so they won't fix it unless i pay out of pocket !!!
I just turned on to the highway, and there was not a car around me. I started to accelerate and then there was a huge sound, almost like a gun shot. I immediately pulled over and noticed that my sunroof was complete shattered with a gaping hole in the middle of it. I was completely dumbfounded because i wasn't underneath a bridge or anything other than the clear blue sky. There were no cars around me to say an object hit it either. Just completely shattered for no reason. The best part is that acura refuses to replace the sunroof when this is clearly a manufacturer default. They claim that there is no way for them to verify that it wasn't caused by an object hitting it. I'm hoping more people report this issue so the sunroof can be recalled because not only is this complete bs. It is very dangerous. If the sunroof shade wasn't closed, i would have had class shards all over the car and myself that could have landed in my eye and caused injury or even worse and accident.
The paint on the acura tlx is defective.acura has recalled the phantom blue pearl paint for peeling around the rear window but won't recall the bellanova white pearl for the exact same issue.i've spoken with dealer and they agree it's a defect in the paint.acura client relations were absolutely no help.i personally know of 40/50 other owners with the exact issue.i also know of honda owners having similar problems.
Spontaneous explosion of the sunroof
The paint is peeling around the back windshield, causing it to begin to rust. I reported it to acura a year ago when it was first noticed and they refuse to fix it due to the warranty being expired. Several other owners of the exact same model car have reported issues, but it is hit or miss on if the dealership where it was purchased is willing to make the repairs.
The paint is starting to peel above the rear windshield in between the gap.

The contact stated that the vehicle lost control briefly. The contact stated that the vehicle lane departure system was activated two days prior. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, hopkins acura of fairfield 2459 auto mall pkwy, fairfield, ca 94533, where the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated that while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle began to violently shake. The failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that they had not heard of the failure occurring before. The failure mileage was approximately 8,100.

2015 black acura tlx financed via lease option with a local dealer (fountain acura, 8703 orange blossom trail, orlando, fl 32809). Since i leased this vehicle back in september of 2015; i have had the below issues: *noise in the driver's seat with displacement. The car seat had to be replaced by the dealer per my request; however, after being replaced it still noises out of the normal and does not operate as smooth as the other seats. Not to mention scratches i noticed inside the car due to the installation of the new seat. *loud noise in the vehicle transmission.*the vehicle was delivered to me without a spare tire, which i didn't notice until a few days ago after doing my own research because the dealer never advised the vehicle didn't come with a spare tire. *the vehicle presents very rough and high increments in the speed after making normal accelerations. Which make myself and my family members feel seriously unsafe as far as being able to control the car. After presenting all these issues and a formal claim to fountain acura and their sales personnel; they have failed to provide me with a solution to my problems just arguing that 'that is the way the car runs and there is nothing they can do about it'. I have sent a formal complaint via mail to both their headquarters in torrance, ca and in tokyo, japan. This vehicle is not safe at all with all the issues it has and i refuse to have to keep it for the remaining time of the lease. Acura should definitely do something to fix this problems or take this car out of the market.
While driving at highway speed, the sunroof exploded upward sending glass into the roadway. With no other vehicles around would lead to a defect in the safety glass. When taken to dealer for warranty repair, ferman acura, the service manager stated acura u ill not cover exploding sunroofs because he was not in the car at the time that it broke and her is not a glass expert to know if it was a defect in the glass that made it exploded, contacted customer service for acura in california, opened a case with [xxx] who could not even tell me how many lugs are on the car she drives, acura case workers have no car knowledge.talking to acuracustomer service is a joke. My real concern is the safety issue. If the sun shield was open the tempered glass that shattered into thousands of small pieces could fall onto the driver and into his eyes. Is this not the reason why the windshield is a safety glass so it will stay intact when broken. At least a clear window film on the inside of the tempered glass in the sunroof would keep the glass from falling on the driver. What will it take to make changes, a car loose control and hit a school bus? and last, acura stated the exploding glass is an insurance issue. I disagree, how many insurance claims are due to defective tempered glass that have a defect when made that the auto company should cover under warranty.the insurance companies are being ripped off by auto companies.and the owners rates go up.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

On both days sept 22 and sept 23, 2015, as i was driving, i was sitting in traffic at a stop light waiting for it to turn green. Just as the light turned green and everyone started to move forward, my car shut down. An ediston bulb popped up on the dash, yellow color, and the words "shift to park" but it disappeared within 2 secs. I immediately shifted to park and restarted the car. The car restarted and i was able to move forward. I am taking the car back into the dealer today. I also have the jerky transmission, the sudden surge when shifting from park to drive or reverse, the delay in the acceleration. A couple months ago, i was making a right turn into oncoming traffic. The car moved forward but then suddenly stopped tho the rpms went up but it wouldn't move. I immediately shifted out of drive into neutral and slipped it back into drive and proceeded okay. I have intermittent garage remote. When using the downshift paddle, the car speeds up which didn't happen in the beginning. There are other issues with the car and they are the same as everyone's. Another time my car wouldn't start and it took 20 mins and tried the two different keys plus the manual key in the door but the car wouldn't start. I was in my garage. All the lights came on, the controls, the bluetooth, stereo, etc. Except the engine. I was unable to turn off the car lights and dash. There was nothing i could do to reset the car. I called acura and they were sending a tow truck to jump start the car. I said that the battery is brand new. After a while, the car finally started about 20 mins later and i called and cancelled the tow truck. The dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. But mdx has many reports of this same problem but the dealer wouldn't fix my car so this wouldn't happen again. It hasn't reoccurred and i hope it doesn't in an area or time outside of my home.
2015 acura tlx frequently stalls, does not restart when idle stop feature is used.this is a safety issue when at an intersection and i am stalled, having to put the car in park and then restart the car.brought the car in twice to acura in 2016 when i initially purchased the vehicle, brought it in again to acura this week and they are unable to fix it, indicating this has been an issue with tlx's and mlx's. Said replacing the starter helped one customer but since not under warranty and my starter (and batter and alternator) all check out fine, they didn't recommend trying that.normally i turn off the feature (which they are unable to permanently disable) which is why i haven't brought it back in more frequently but it is very concerning if i forget to press the button to turn off the feature and it stalls.
Yes, you guys are on point! i had my 2015 tlx v4 advanced pack. And every single complaint i read on here i have! this is very nerve wrecking! i took in my acura two weeks ago to sherman oaks center acura, where i originally purchased the vahicle and explained everything that i was experiencing; e.i. Jerks, sudden revs, delayed upshift/downshift. The repair center personnel advised me that the vehicle just needed a "simple software update" and that not to be alarmed because acura will have future updates. So when i went to pick up my car i noticed that the car felt as though i was driving my girlfriend's 10 year old corolla. The car is a f*** piece of s*** i tell you! it lags more and he vibrates too much! this is a safety hazard!
I have a 2015 acura tlx 4cyclinder 8 speed dct base..vehicle have a heavy vibration in gear at stop..there is a heavy vibration on brake pedal and seat..the whole front end is shaking with heavy vibration and engine rattle...took car to dealer the state that they feel the vibration isbut its the characteristic of the car and there is no fix at this time from acura
I leased the 2015 tlx in january 2015.i had to take the car back in within the first two weeks because when i would come to a complete stop, the car would lurch forward.i was told by the dealership the first time that it was due to "the wheels realigning".i took the car back in within one month (february) for the same issues, in which the dealership kept the car for at least 2 weeks.having been told that they couldn't replicate the problem, i found an article online of a class action lawsuit filed in california for the exact problem i am having.after alerting the dealership of this problem, they contacted acura/honda to learn of a "computer software update" which was completed on my vehicle.the car worked fine for about a month before the problem started again.i have had to take this car back to the dealership 4 times since i leased the car in january, where a "software update" is completed on my car.the problem is ongoing and i have my 5th appointment scheduled for next friday, october 16, 2015.i have advised the dealership and my salesperson that i'm not comfortable in this car and do not plan on continuing to bring my car in every few weeks for a temporary fix.
On nov 18, 2019 while driving on the freeway at approx 65 mph the vehicle spontaneously flashed all preset emergency alerts on the dashboard continuously. At the same time the vehicle slowed down without using the brake pedal and tension was felt. The vehicle was no longer able to accelerate to keep up with the speed of traffic forcing myself to pull over and evacuate onto the nearest exit ramp. Once the car came to a complete stop off the freeway the vehicle kept attempting to put the car in 'neutral' when attempting to put the car in park so i could allow for a safe shut off. Upon stopping and then restarting the vehicle the dashboard continued to display in a repetitive pattern all the preset warnings/alerts. Upon shutting off the engine completely a second time the alerts no longer displayed and flashed repetitively on the dashboard and the car was able to be placed in reverse then drive without normally without further incident.this is the second incident in 2 weeks. Upon taking the vehicle to acura elk grove i was informed that i would have to pay $195 for a diagnostic test since the car had surpassed 50k miles and no longer under factory warranty. This vehicle was serviced by acura elk grove for the same complaint within the last 3 years. The first incident occurred while driving approx 45mph on a city street requiring me to pull over to the side of the road as the car decelerated on its own without use of the brake pedal.
I turned off my car for a moment when i attempted to start back up it would not turn over at all.
There is a service bulletin for the acura that deals with issues causing rattling or vibrations felt in the floor and front seats when the car is driven on highway speeds.the service bulletin 16-009 affects 2015 acura tlx awd models with the vin 19uub3f.. Fa000001-fa004363. The probable cause is that there may be an assembly imbalance between the rear differential and the propeller shaft.the service bulletin 16-057 affects all 2015-2016 v6 models with all vin numbers. Possible cause is the subframe bushing materials lacks absorption ability, causing the energy from the rear wheels to be transferred into the floor and seat.both service bulletins are not recalls even though they affect specific cars and even all models on one car. All costs come out of pocket for acura owners.
The car was leased in november, 2015.after three weeks the exhaust system started filling up with fluid.loud noises emanate from the muffler and if you floor the accelerator, fluid comes spewing out of the left exhaust pipe in buckets.the car was returned to the service department repeatedly and they could not repair the problem.they blamed my driving habits as the cause of the problem since i only use the car for local driving.the fluid builds up every three days even if you continue to floor the accelerator to empty the system and the noisesfrom the exhaust system begin about 5 to 10 minutes after starting the vehicle.fluid is constantly emitted from the exhaust pipes even with emptying the system.this is my sixth acura and i never experienced such a problem.i have contacted the dealership and the manufacturer to no avail.i am concerned that my wife and i are in danger of ingesting toxic exhaust fumes that are not properly being removed by this faulty exhaust system.
Transmission replacement within the first 1500 miles on the car.no fix for trans issue. Still having simialr problem with new transmission. Front left strut needed to be replaced as well.i have all documents if needed and have a lemon law lawyer court date is 12/8/16.
Reflection rear view mirrors ac vent. Also abnormal shifts low speed
I bought a used acura tlx with 83000 miles on it .. I drove it 1500 miles it start shifting hard . The bmv used dealership replaced it. It worked for 700 miles now it shifts hard again worst, and no one wants to fix it
My sunroof exploded while driving 55mph, it sounded like a gunshot and glass was all over the shade, thankfully the shade was closed so the glass didn't get on us or in the car, i was driving north on a street entering the city
All of the systems lights started cycling through stating that they had "problems." this happened while stopped at a light, with no warning. I had the oil changed just last week.
Transmission system failure do not want to go in reverse. I am the only owner of this 2015 tlx always takes to dealership even changed the transmission fuild a year ago now having issues. No one else has touch this vehicle only acura dealership.
Car has an auto idle reduction installed to save energy.however, the idle is set so low that when you try to start out after stopping for a traffic light, the car stalls continuously.

Can you please investigate the 2015 acura tlx with the 9sp transmission?there is unintended acceleration when slowing down, unanticipated surging, and unexpected hesitation when attempting to accelerate.this is a known issue within honda but there has been no recall or public fix from honda.i included the purchase date of the car but the above happens at various times.http://acurazine.com/forums/5g-tlx-problems-fixes-420/9at-hard-shift-1-2-2-3-a-919230
This vehicle often hesitates or has a loud noise of the transmission sounding like it is trying to shift into a gear it shouldn't. Both of these occurrences happen when moving from a stopped position. Car does not move for a couple of seconds, in the latter case or is moving away from stopped position in the former case. Every time this happens the vehicle in back of me thinks i am moving forward (which is not happening) and proceeds to move almost rear-ending me. It is just a matter of time. This happens when the vehicle is cold/ hot.
Ac vent reflection in both rear view mirrors.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. While driving at various speeds, the chrome finish on the air vent on the front driver and passenger sides produced a glare on the side mirrors. The glare impacted the contact's ability to see out of the side mirrors. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or diagnosed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 125.
The side view mirrors have an odd reflection from the chrome components on the side or interior of the car. I have a brand new 2015 acura tlx awd.
My car's sun roof suddenly exploded while driving on a highway - the glass shattered with a loud noise.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that the chrome piece on the air vents had an extreme glare that impacted the contact's visibility when using the side mirrors. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician verified the failure but was unable to remedy the problem. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the safety concern. The approximate failure mileage was 789.
Reflection rear view mirrors ac vent. Also abnormal shifts low speed
Sunroof glass shattered while driving down the road. There were no cars in front of me and i was only going 25 mph as i had just begun to accelerate. This could not have been a rock but a defect in the car. If the visor wasn't closed glass could have fell into the car and possibly cut someone. Acura needs to address this as this is not an object hitting the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2015 acura tlx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph the glass sunroof exploded without impact. The cause of the failure was not determined. The contact indicated that the failure occurred on a clear day with weather temperatures of 60 degrees.the local dealer serramonte acura (475 serramonte blvd, cola ca) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 80,000. The vin was not available.
Case : b0120150605/28- test drove car up to 55mph. Purchased car 5/28/15 around 9:30pm. On test drive and during singing, i was assured that this was a great riding car. Vibration as a standard feature - no one told me, it is not advertised on the internet or in the spec of the car and it is not in the manual. I did not agree to purchase a vibrating/poor shifting car, i agreed on a regular riding car that shifts smoothly. (not one with uncontrollable vibration).test drove car up to 55mph. Purchased car 5/28/15. Car was ready to pick up 6-2-15. Background- test drove with 3 miles on the car. Received from dealer up had 20 miles on. 6/2 - 8pm go to dealer to receive car. Dealer forgot to transfer my plates. Dealer(my salesman and another salesman) told me to leave without temp plates, that it is acceptable in illinois (until the police told me it was illegal). 6/2 9:43 pm got on the expressway = experience uncontrollable vibration at 60mph. Call dealer immediately at 9:45pm on 6/2, tell them i will bring back the car in the am. 6/3 '11:30am- bring car back, dealer aligns + balances. 3pm- pick up car. Car still vibrates. 6/4 ' 2:00pm ' i bring car back to acura for the second time in 48 hours. Dealer states they will take the car to lexus, as lexus has equipment that acura does not have. Acura will keep the car overnight. Dealer takes to lexus on 6/5 to use their equipment to balance. 6/5 ' pick up car + still same issue. Dealer states you have to drive 55mph or 80mph for no vibration. This is the way the car is built and that is it. 6/5 - 5:09pm, i was supposed to pick up the car today. They told me would be ready at 4. They have done everything that they could and they can no longer help me.

Vehicle has a vibration that shakes passenger seat between 65-75 mph. Seems to be a safety issue and occurs every time the vehicle is at the speed listed.
