Read complaints for ACURA TL (2005)

Just noticed cracks in dashboard of 2005 acura tl. I figured maybe it was from the heat, with living in florida. Went online to see if any others had complaints. Noticed many complaints from 2004-2005 acura tl owners complaining of cracks in the same exact area as mine. There is one right above the air bag, which i believe could lead to a safety issue with the air bag. The other starts from the center console at the dash and is cracked all the way across the driver dash area and around that console. I called acura and they made a note, but just told me to check with the dealership for repair. I don't want to pay for something that appears to be a defect with the product.

I contacted acura's corporate office regarding 3 large cracks that appeared on my acura tl 2005 dashboard. I spoke with two representatives, who denied any knowledge of this problem occurring with other acura owners.during our conversation, i told the representatives that i had done some research regarding this problem and discovered that several thousand complaints have been forwarded to the office of defect investigation along with a facebook page with other dissatisfied customers.the representatives seemed unaware of the 'split dash' product defect, which i found unbelievable. Acura dealerships in my area were aware of the problem and i'm sure that the corporate office was notified by them when all of these complaints came in. The fact that the representatives would deny any knowledge of this issue was a blatant lie. I was told to bring my vehicle to the nearest acura dealership, where they would take pictures of the dashboard (see enclosed pictures). While driving to the dealership, i noticed that my airbag light was now lit. The dealership took pictures of the 3 large cracks and lit airbag light and told me he would get back in touch with me once acura responded to him. After a few days, the dealership called to say acura was going to make a 'good will' gesture and only charge me 50% of the cost to replace it, since the warranty for the dashboard had expired.my cost would be between $900 to $1000. I was appalled that acura would even consider having a customer pay for a defective part that was manufactured by the company. It is obvious that this is a major safety concern, especially now that the airbag light is lit. It is reasonable to believe that cracks that develop where the passenger air bag is supposed to deploy have the potential to affect the deployment of this safety equipment in case of an accident and, therefore, should be considered a safety hazard.

There were two hairline cracks on my dashboard when i purchased my car about a year ago.over the winter months the cracks seemed to spread.i'm afraid that the cracks around the passenger airbag could cause injury if the airbag ever detonated as the airbag would likely malfunction.i've noticed this is a common problem in 2005 acura tls and find it annoying that acura won't claim responsibility.i've never seen anything like this in a car...is this a safety issue?does anyone know for sure that the airbag will work properly in a time of need?

Airbag warning light came on.

Dashboard cracked in several spots. I have read that many complaints has been filed on this particular year, make, and model of car and nothing has been done to resolve this issue.

Over the past few weeks, without warning, the dash board on the passenger side of the car has developed two long identical cracks about 10" apart parallel and opposite the other. Appears to be the airbag pushing up through the dash board. I am very concerned that the airbag is going to deploy on its own and hurt someone and/or cause an accident.

The dashboard is cracked and has the potential for air bag issues.

Cracks appear on dashboard above driver side and passenger side airbag. Acura client relations claims this is a cosmetic issue. I have researched this as an on-going issue since 2009. I believe this is a defective part on the vehicle. Quote to fix this "blemish" is over 2k. Acura will only pay 50% i must pay the other $1000. I believe acura should have this replaced. Airbag light turns on and off. Hoping this has nothing to do with the crack in the dashboard. Something needs to be done.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the air bag and engine warning lights were illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

This acura tl has been well cared for. The dashboard has over the last year developed several deep cracks over the passenger airbag area and throughout the entire dash now. It starts from the windshield and cracks all the way to the front of dash. Very concerned if airbag would be effected or even deploy properly. Also if pieces of this rigiddashboard would hurt the driver or passengers in front seat if in a accident .

Dashboard cracks -noticed small crack in my 2005 tl dashboard over the passenger airbag in may 2012. Overnight it grew from front to back. My car is garaged. Contacted my service advisor by phone and he stated it was cosmetic and due to high heat and high mileage. I stated car was garaged and i owned other cars that were as old and never experience this. He told me cost was $1850 to replace. He said he'd send the complaint to corporate and get back to me. He came back to me and said acura would pay 75% of cost since i was a good customer. I said that was not acceptable and i would like to talk to regional manager. He said he'd take the request further. In the meantime i noticed another crack. A week later i got a call stating acura would pay 85% and i'd pay $247 plus tax. I was concerned that the airbag could malfunction and not deploy when in an accident or deploy for no reason. I decided to pay the $247. Dealer stated he would give me a loaner car.before i brought the car in for repair i noticed two more cracks. My concern is safety for me and my passengers and i did not feel safe with dashboard cracks. This was a design flaw or material defect and acura should recall to satisfy customers. Too many others with same problem and this is a luxury car. Acura knows it's an issue otherwise they wouldn't have agreed to pay $85%.

The dashboard has cracked with cracks all over.foot long crack on the right of the air bag area and small crack at the center front speaker.the airbag area is covered with long cracks from the dashboard to the windshield.there has been no accident of any kind, but the dashboard has a look of long cracks all throughout.there are many documented acura tl's with this very same cracking pattern on facebook as well as acurazine community.this seems to be a defect in the build and should be covered by the manufacturer as a recall!

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact noticed the passenger side dashboard was cracked near the location of the air bags and the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 149,000.

Passenger side dashboard has major cracking and our concern is with the air bags.if there was an accident, and the air bags deploy incorrectly due to the cracking in the dashboard, there is a possibility the passenger would be not be protected as expected/needed.the car has been taken care of, never been in an accident and is spotless except for this one huge defect.acura should recall this and make it right.

Paying the money for a luxury car would make you think you were buying a quality product. Unfortunately, after only 7 years of owning my car, there are 2 huge cracks in my dashboard with one of them being right along the outline of my airbag. I am hoping this crack does not affect the performance of my airbag if ever needed, but i guess i won't find out unless it is deployed and the rest of my dashboard shatters into pieces probably causing another injury!

My 2005 acura tl started getting a crack in the dashboard on the passenger side, exactly on the outline on one side of the airbag. It spread to the complete length of the left outline/seam of the airbag within 2 days. Two weeks later a cracke appeared on the right side of the airbag(along the seam). Now there is another huge crack going across the width of the passenger airbag. It is practically about to burst open. I am so afraid the airbag is going to deploy for no reason. I believe it is a major defect that is a major health hazard that could potentially injure or kill the passenger. I really need acura to fix this defect. I have read many other reports of this same problem with the same make model & year. There needs to be a safety recall!

I entered my vehicle yesterday moring an noticed threetwo large crack across the dashboard starting at the winshield moving toward the passenger compartment. I did not notice the cracks when cleaning my car last week = sudden event occurance. A google search indicates many 2004 to 2008 acura tl's experience this issue. I am concerned about these cracks effecting the air bag deployment process and subsequent loss of passenger protection/safety during a collosion. Googlesearch results imply these cracks will continue to develop and spread across the entire dashboard due to a design or manufacturing defect. Can you help us?

My acura 2005 tl has several cracks throughout the dashboard. I have filed previously, this filing is another concern that can be added to the ones i just submitted regarding the cracked dashboard - will the damaged dashboard break apart easily and cause injury during a minor accident? this concern is additional to the airbag concerns i articulated in my previous submission.

Takata airbags? dashboard on passenger side is cracked and has become to increase in size. Fear that this may cause airbag "takata" to explode. Airbag light on driverside randomly comes on and will stay on while driving or parked. Fear that airbag light may be an indicator of front airbags may go wrong. Over time the dashboard cracks have increased in size.

I have 2005 acura tl i've owned it for about 7 years. Went out today and found a crack on the passenger's side dashboard. Approximately 6 inches long, along the passenger's front airbag. Now the airbag warning light remains on. I bought the car with 64000 miles on it and it now has 116,000. I've kept the service up on it and she's been babied since i bought her. No armor all on it at all. I'm so disappointed. I just replaced the timing belt, the rack and pinion, rear breaks/rotors, and now this. I really thought this car would last me. Now, i've suffered trade in value damage because of a manufacturing defect. How can acura not consider this a safety issue? my airbag warning light is on!

My notice light on the dashboard periodically comes on and off; the mechanic said it was a problem with the airbag, but didn't know which one until they looked at it.is this a problem involving the takata recall? i need to have it fixed.this has been happening from time to time for over a year or more, but when it didn't stay on, i just didn't remember to deal with it.....it is now on most of the time. This happens when the car is started and remains on until turned off.

There is a crack on the right hand (passenger) side of the dash very close to the air bag. I am scared that the airbag may explode at any minute. Acura says there is no recall. This vehicle is kept in a garage and not driven everyday.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that there was a crack on the dashboard where the passenger side air bag was located. The contact expressed concern that the air bag would not deploy in the event of a crash. In addition, the air bag warning light illuminated. The dealer advised the contact not to be alarmed and that the air bag would deploy in the event of a crash. The manufacturer was aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. No repairs were performed. The approximate failure mileages were 85,000 and the current mileages were 102,000. The vin was unavailable.

A crack has developed on the passenger side of the dash running directly over the location of the airbag located on the same side. This has not resulted in any failure or malfunction as of now, but it raises concerns over the potential given the location. If you research the internet, you will find a plethora of similar complaints and concerns from many other third generation (ā€˜04-ā€˜08) acura tl owners dating back many years now. In spite of this, acura/honda has failed to offer any type of solution or even recognize it for the potential safety issue that it represents.to answer the questions you ask, i have not had it inspected by any dealer, mechanic or insurance representative at this time, nor have there been any warning lights appearing. However, common sense tells me that there is the ā€œ potential ā€œ for a problem given the nature of the crack and its location. Acura/honda needs to step up and acknowledge and address this issue!!

The dashboard in our acura suddenly had a crack in it from front to back on one side of the passenger side airbag, then a few days later the same size of crack appeared on the other side of the passenger side airbag.this car only has a bit over 40,000 miles on it even though it is a 2005 and has always been garaged and well cared for.we are concerned because the cracks are on each side of the airbag, because they appeared so suddenly, and because this brand is part of the taketa airbag recall although this model year was not recalled.we feel this is a safety issue, especially after by sheer accident we discovered that there are many complaints about this same issue in this brand and model and year of this car.another thing which concerns us is that this car was purchased and has always "lived" in fl.we are the original owners.the cracks appeared when the car was stationary.

Major crack all over dash board. Six are on the passenger side of dash directly where air bags are housed above glove compartment, spanning the entire width to the drivers side. Air bag light is on as well. Did some research and discovered it was a very common problem with this model and nothing has been done to fix. The cracks are getting wider with time and have progressed with time.

Passenger dash cracked around edge of airbag.concerned that acura is not handling as a recall. They have replaced some dashes, but others they say the dash is a thinner material therefore it may crack. I believe this manufacturer defect is compromising safety as it relates to my passengers in the vehicle.

I'd like to bring to your attention an important public safety issue with acura.their airbags have the potential to deploy spontaneously.this has happened yesterday to me 2/15/2010. I was driving on route 83 in baltimore at around 6am and without any impact or warning, my frontand rear driver's side as well as the driver's seat airbags deployed in my 2005 acura tl.i thought someone was shooting or my tire blew out. I immediately got out of the car and checked the car and found nothing wrong, except the air bag damage. It damaged my driver?s seat and interior roof in the front and back. The steering wheel air bag did not deploy, nor did the air bags inflate. The car was drivable, but the seat belt was broken. After settling at work, i place a call to my insurance company and to norris acura (ellicott city, md) where i have my auto service done. The insurance company asked me to contact acura because there may be a manufacturer's defect. Acura asked me to bring my car in the next day. They evaluated the car and asked me tocontact my insurance company even though there's no physical damage to the car. They insist that i must have hit a pot hole, ice or something. I hit nothing. If that was the case and i hit something, the air bag should have deployed and inflated. They never inflated, they just deployed. The air bag in the steering also never deployed. So ifthey say that i must have hit something, then the airbags are still defective and would not have protected me in an impact. My car is currently at the dealership now with 3 deployed airbags (driver's side) without any physical damage to the car. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to have to pay a deductible with my insurance company, if this is a manufacturer's defect.

Passenger side dashboard cracked verticle direction where airbag is. The airbag light is displayed in dashboard. Because of the crack, it is not known if the airbag will work properly if in a crash or if it will deploy unexpectedly also causing harm.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl.the contact stated that the dashboard was fractured and the airbag warning light was illuminated.the dealer and manufacturer were contacted but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure was mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 60,100.

2005 acura tl purchased with only 88,000 miles in above excellent (purchased from a porsche mechanic) condition. The dash over the passenger side airbag started cracking around 100,000 miles and after reading all of the 'acura forums' have discovered this is more than common with acura owners around the u.s.a. Dash cracks anywhere near an airbag are more than alarming.

My dashboard recently developed a crack about 6 inches in length on the passenger side dashboard where the airbag is located. I have read where multiple incidences like mine have been recorded for this vehicle & acura apparently is not accepting responsibility for the obvious defect in this model.

My 2005 acura tl dashboard cracks so many places.. Especially passenger side of dashboard. This is very dangerous if the airbag pop out while you're driving the road.i purchased this car brand new at paragon acura , woodside,n.yi hope this is recall. Please see attached photo.my name: [xxx]phone: [xxx]email: [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

2005 acura tl, very well maintained.jun 2019, a crack appeared in dashboard on the right side of the passenger side airbag.airbag dashboard light came on 3 months later and stays on.dealer said they had never seen that before, but now i know this is a known problem.love the car, but feel acura needs to resolve this defect. The risk of air bag deployment is serious.

Vehicle dash cover has large cracks running from defrost outlets aft to rear edge of dash cover, paticularly in the vicinity of the passenger air bag.passenger air bag is potentially exposed to uv damage and other contamination effecting deployment reliability.

I have. Noticed large cracks on top of the dash , some where my airbags are. What if the deploy? these cracks came out of nowhere and i feel they are hazardous to my airbags if they deploy

I noticed a small crack on the passenger side airbag now it has spread across my whole dashboard there are many cracks.

Dashboardhas started cracking all over really bad. Some cracks are very big. Seems like the air bag could come out any time. It's manufacturing defect. Need to be fixed asap.

There are cracks in the dash on the passenger side and they run from windshield to the middle of the dash.

There is a crack right on the edge of the passenger side airbag in the dashboard. Acura will not help cover the cost to fix it. It appeared out of nowhere. My car only has 75,000 miles.

The dash board in my vehicle began to crack over the passenger side air bag and it has me concerned that the air bag may not deploy towards the passenger and may deploy upwards toward the windshield instead and not protect the passenger. This is a known problem with these model cars and acura refuses to fix this defect. Does someone have to lose their life due to this defect before acura acknowledges there is a defect and a problem?

My acura tl's passenger dashboard has a crack running down and my airbag light is on. Car was not involved in any accident and apparently this is a known issue.

Known issue with no official recall.dash board cracks directly above airbag.started with on large crack and now there are two above airbag.i have 3 coworkers all with acura tl's from 04-06 years all with the same cracks.dealer is making drivers responsible to replace with no guarantee it won't happen again.there are numerous online forums and facebook page just regards to this issue.should be a recall.

The dash board on passenger side has cracked. The car was parked in garage for few days before i used it when i noticed the crack. I got courage to report it here after i seeing others having same issue.

The dashboard has cracked on several places, including one large crack over the passanger's airbag.i'm concerned that airbags will deploy unexpectedly as a result or that airbags will not deploy correctly.

I got into my car this morning at 10:15 am to go to work and noticed that the dash going from the vent by my windshield to the center speaker in the front middle of the dash. It also travels along the crease of my gauge hood as well. My srs light was on shortly prior to this incident and am curious if this is for some reason the cause. I was not involved in any sort of accident, nor do i drive in any manner to have caused something like this to happen. I did drive the car yesterday, 3/18/15, in the morning and there was no damage like this what so ever. I also had taken the car in to the mechanic and they said that they could not find the source of what was causing the srs light to be on. My car is a decade old, but i condition it and take care of the entire vehicle, so laziness or "sun damage" is not the issue. I am very upset that something like this is happening considering that the leather interior in these cars seem to be very low quality and are tearing apart! multiple consumers also have the same issues that i am having and i too agree that a recall should be issued for multiple defects that this specific year and model vehicles seem to be having.

Vehicle presented cracks around instrument cluster and later on also all around passenger airbag. Few months later, vehicle started showing continuously the airbag red warning light once motorist's seat belt is buckled. Unsure if airbags work with warning light on.

The dash board on the passenger side of the car has two identical cracks about 10" apart parallel and opposite the other. I believe it is the airbag pushing up through the dash board. My main concern is the airbag is going to deploy without cause and hurt someone and/or cause an accident.

The airbag seat belt sensor or light is on all the time it's common for these types of vehicles of 2004 to 2008. It is a safety issue that should be resolved, i was told it wasnt under warranty or a recall because the vehicle is older than 10 years, but clearly on the website it says under 15 years it should be covered. I wanted to clear this up with acura service department but they wanted to charge me about $600 for a diagnostic test and almost $2000 for reinstalling an airbag and sensor, which i saw online it's a recall but my cars vin says i dont have a recall. I already did a diagnostic test thru my mechanic and have all the codes that states it is a recall what can i do? i bought this car used and the airbag seat belt sensor light is always on.

Takata recall a little over three years ago my dashboard started to crack on the right side of the passenger airbag/compartment and has since continued to continue to crack around the airbag as well as severely damagethe entire dashboard of my vehicle. Neither my local dealership nor the manufacturer accept responsibility or fault in this defect that could be fatal to my passengers, myself and other consumers who's vin is said to not to be impacted despite takata recalls impacting the other honda vehicles and being a widespread recall across the vehicle manufacturing industry. No repairs or replacements requests have been "necessary" nor covered by my local acura dealership despite the acura owners recall link communication regarding the inflator recall. Please continue to read and escalate these complaints as many of us are impacted by this defect & are powerless. I have been the owner of this vehicle since 2009 and this is my only means of transportation since purchasing and paying off and my passengers and myself continue to be in danger of fatality due to these defects without manufacturer accountability or support.

Crack has appeared on dashboard passenger side over air bag area. Vehicle was stationary. Safety concern with airbag

My battery would be dead if i didn't drive my car every day. Then i found out there is a parasitic drain on the battery from a faulty hands-free bluetooth module. I watched a video then disconnected mine myself, problem solved. I've used a headlight restoration kit because the lights are yellow and they have spider-cracks all in them, it really affects the brightness of the light itself. The dashboard is cracked beyond repair and i'm terrified of getting into a wreck in my car, the dash would become shrapnel!

2005 acura tl- parked winters, garaged, babied and all service completed at the acura dealerships.car has 141,000 on it and was near 50,000 when purchased (aspec package etc).car has developed cracks in the dashboard from the windshield to the instrument panel, across the center speaker and now directly on the indentation where the airbag is located on the passenger side. Reached out to acura for assistance ((attached)) and they said the car is too old and outside warranty to help me. Irregardless of the fact i have always taken it to acura and one look at the cars exterior and interior *paint and leather interior* shows that this car has been spoiled.the dashboard is a known issue for this generation and even made the news from complaints.i am now concerned that the airbag will not work properly or cause harm due to the structural integrity of the dashboard being altered due to shoddy craftsmanship that is not being backed up by acura.i have also raised concern that the headlight assembly are both cracking and discolored. I have had them professionally *refurbished* but the dealership said that they need to be replaced as they too are a safety issue not allowing proper light to be illuminated on the highway due to manufacture defect- again -- car parked winters, just look at the paint and quality of the car that is 15 years old.*dt

Driving down the highway on my way home from work on 01/14/2012 and the passenger side curtain airbags deployed. Have seen several other reports of this happening. I just thank god my 11 month old wasn't sitting in her car seat in the backseat.

Taktata recall -have a 2005 acura tl that has been parked winters and inside a garage. Pampered, polished, acura service always. Was driving down the road and noticed my dang dashboard has the crack that everyone is always talking about. I cant believe that a car of this price is having a dashboard crack.the dealership wants over 2000 to fix it. My other car is nearly 20 years old and not one blemish or crack in the dashboard and it too is a honda product. C'mon with all the complaints and issues around the airbag do the right thing acura and good will fix this thing or you will lose not only me but the other 4 family members i got turned onto honda vehicles.

Driver side airbag went off while driving.

Only 43,300 miles and my dash produced a massive crack extending from the windshield vertically downward across the passenger side airbag today. Well maintained car with very low mileage. My concern is safety for my family. Airbag may either malfunction and not deploy or possibly deploy incorrectly in the event of an accident. Acura needs to take action immediately. Tons of complaints for this issue all over the internet.

Passenger airbag deploying by itself and causing dashboard to crack

Date: 08/27/2020my 2005 acura tl has a safety issue with the airbag system. The passenger dash has cracked on both sides of where the airbag is located. This issue occurred slowly over the course of about a year when the vehicle was stationary. As of a week ago, the red airbag warning light goes on and stays on (by the speedometer) when a passenger sits in the front seat. I have researched this issue and there are thousands of acura tl owners that have this same problem with the dash on the passenger side cracking and many have filed complaints with the nhtsa and have contacted acura. Even though all of the other acura tl model years through 2014 were part of the takata airbag recall, for some reason the 3rd generation acura tl model years 2004 - 2008 have not been recalled due to the takata airbag issue. I have read that it may be due to acura needing to remove the dash in order to replace the airbags, and that they don't want to incur the expense of replacing the entire dash. According to several acura tl owners, replacing the dash costs between $1,000 - $2,000 (for the owner) and doesn't take into account the safety issue regarding having the passenger airbag damaged due to the cracks in the dash and humidity getting in. This is a serious safety issue as the cracks could affect deployment of the passenger airbag, or cause it to deploy while driving and cause injury to the passenger or the driver. According to many posts i have seen online, this issue has been going on for over 5 years. Please investigate this safety hazard and notify acura. Acura needs to take responsibility for this widespread safety issue.

My leather dashboard on the inside of my car has about 3 crack lines. The cracks also run on top of the area where the airbag pops out. This is a major safety concern for me along with many other people that have the same problem. I have never seen this condition on any car, and would expect not to see it on such a high end vehicle like my acura tl. The dashboard should not be cracking at all. This should be an automatic recall item, especially because of the safety concerns. Please address this promptly. It is a shame that the dealerships say that this is natural wear and tear. If there is a airbag underneath it, the item should be recalled. Looking at older complaints on same issue , acura where helping but my car is 10 years old and they don't help, this just happened which i think they should still support, the airbags may or may not deploy ..is this a safety issues, acura charge $1800 to replace but at our cost the dealership want me to pay $700 and they will take the rest as they are aware of this issue.i don't think i should pay.

There is a long split right along the side of where the airbag sits on the passanger side. This concerns me being right over the airbag. Looking online there is a facebook page with countless concerns of others with cracked dashboards in the same location. This cracking concerns me that the airbag might inflate while driving or not inflate correctly if in an accident. My fear is if i fill the crack that this also might impact how the airbag works. This should not happen with a luxury car and apparently this is happening in tons of cars from 2004 - 2008 that i've read about. I recently noticed this, but looking at the size of the crack it has likely been there for awhile and i didn't notice it. When the car heats up the crack isn't visible.

My dashboard are cracking over night. It was first one small crack and now i have 3 area that have crack. This all happen within a week! the crack are getting bigger as day go by. One of the crack is over the airbag and i feel unsafe. There are some plastic on the dash and if there was an accident, fear those particle may fly at me. I did my research and may acura tl model from 2004-2008 have this same problem. Some had this issue at early as 20,000 miles.

Dash is cracking on passenger side.

It has come to my attention that a large number of 2004-2008 acura tl owners have found themselves having to take their cars in to their local dealerships because of a split dashboard problem in their cars, including myself. Although some dashes have been replaced under warranty, in most cases, the dash cracks just as the warranty ends. In some cases, dealers will do a good will repair, recognizing it is a defective part, however, some dealerships, are not willing to replace the part and want to charge for replacing the defective dash.this is a safety concern due to the srs airbag is located underneath the dashboard itself, and could possibly deploy at anytime.

My dashboard has so many cracks in it which are no fault of my own.i have tried resolving this in the past and was told that i would be responsible for the repair.i kept a shade over my dashboard and it was garage kept and it still cracked.cracks are everywhere on the dashboard near the airbags.a cracked dash at the airbag deployment point can be a safety hazard. Would like acura to list as a recall and cover cost.

At approximately 55000 miles a crack was noted over the instrument panel.as the weeks passed more and more cracks appeared in the dash, particularly in the area over the glove box where it would appear the passenger side airbag is located.subsequent to that the passenger airbag indicator light shows as active or inactive.i am concerned that this is a safety issue and that the passenger side airbag will deploy without impact.i rarely drive this car due to this concern, and do not feel that i can sell it or trade it due to this issue.i have spoken with my local acura dealer but they are unwilling to contribute any monetary assistance to correct the issue.they have contacted me regarding trading this vehicle in on another acura, but that isn't going to happen based on the quality of the vehicle i own, customer service, and their unwillingness to address what is obviously a widespread problem.

Driving on i95 in boynton beach, fl, area.heard cracking noises.saw vertical split in dashboard, over the air bag.at the same time, cruise control feature stopped working.split goes from windshield to about 4" above the bottom of dash.it has advanced about 1/2-1" since incident.don't know if passenger airbag will properly deploy anymore.

The dashboard on my 2005 acura tl has cracked over the past year.after researchng several people have had the same problem.the concern i have is not cosmetic, but safety.due to the cracks my mechanic told me that my air bag system has disabled itself.therefore if i am in an accident, i wont have that protection.acura refuses to take care of the problem with a recall.it can have deadly consequences.

Like others here my airbag in the passenger dash is cracked in a ring and i fear the airbag will malfunction, in addition if it doesn't malfunction, and deploys the plastic will be propelled with great force by the deplosion of airbag causing serious injury. I survived the failed transmissions, with numerous lock ups at highway speeds that caused a crash with injuries. I don't understand why acura and honda have not taken these warnings seriously, its obvious the safety risk, please stop playing with our lives and fix this problem. I also have a whine in my steering and replaced the power steering pump completely, it stills whines and is now leaking steering fluid and fumes coming into car and my wiper water quit spraying on my windshield. This is too much for a higher model car that cost a lot of money. Oh and i have replaced my tires so many times due to the treat wearing off like every 20k miles!

Takata recall my dash on the passenger side cracked and now another crack is starting for no reason.i have always taken great care of my car and did not do anything to cause it to crack and the airbag light started coming on and doesn't go off.i looked it up by vin number and didn't see a recall but saw other complaints just like this has happened.

Takata recallmy acura tl is equipted with the faulty, dangerous takata airbags.the faulty airbags has caused my car's dashboard to separate & crack badly.i want this danger removed before it kills or injures me or a family member.

My cars dashboard started cracking from the windshield to the front of the dashboard on the passenger side.the crack goes down the side of where the airbag deploys.now my dashboard is riddled with cracks and acura states that it is environmental and i should not fear the airbag deploying due to the cracks.i'm not alone as i have read countless stories similar to mine.i think it's time that acura steps up and handles their defective design.

Dash cracked around passenger side airbag, afraid of airbag coming out.original owner ,always garge kept

About 9 months ago a small crack appeared in the dashboard of my '05 acura tl.the dash continued to split to over a foot in length.within a month of the first crack, a second one appeared and grew to match the same length.these cracks outline the front passenger airbag.what affect does this have on the security of the airbag? i'm concerned that a passenger in the front seat is endangered as the structure is compromised?i've researched this online and there are plenty of tl owners complaining about the same issue.it's found predominately in the 2004 - 2007 models.i've read that acura has admitted an "issue" with the dash, but wants the owners to pay for repairs.the costs range from $2000 - $3000 per car.i'm the original owner of this vehicle.it was purchased in september 2005 and is out of warranty.my tl currently has 66849 miles on it.i'd like to receive some assistance with this issue.thank you.

I am the original owner of a 2005 acura tl with 49,650 miles on it.what started as a hair line crack on the passenger side dashboard is now a series of spider web wall of cracks all throughout the dashboard, in the past few months.as of late, the cracks have extended to the passenger side airbag area.and now the passenger side airbag light intermentinly blinks on /off both with and without a passenger occupying the seat.this is not an of wear and tear parts issue but a defective material issue by acura.furthermore, it is now a safety issue whether the cracked dashboard will play in the malfunctioning in the deployment of the passenger side airbag.i am in fear of getting behind the wheel of my acura tl now that airbag light intermittently switches on/off at random since the appearance of the cracks on the dashboard.

A crack in the dash on the passenger side at the airbag was noticed the summer of 2012.it started out small and eventually ran the entire length of the dash.since that day several more cracks on both sides have appeared during different times of the year.heat causes the cracks to close making it difficult to see them and open up when the weather or interior is cooler.yesterday the 6th crack appeared, this on the other side of the passenger side airbag.the entire airbag compartment on the passenger side is visible with both sides outlined by cracks.heat alone is not causing this as the last crack was noticed in 40 degree weather.with the airbag on the passenger side having cracks i am worried that the dash is unstable and could break off during a crash and become a dangerous piece of debris when (if) the airbag is activated in a crash.i am also worried that the passenger side airbag will not activate due to the damage to the dash.

My driver's side air bag light comes on often (more on than off). I notice that this happens on other 2005 tl according to the complaint listing i reviewed. Have not taken it back to acura yet as i want to see research.

I've complained about this for a few months now, this has been worded the best:the dash board in my vehicle began to crack over the passenger side air bag and it has me concerned that the air bag may not deploy towards the passenger and may deploy upwards toward the windshield instead and not protect the passenger. This is a known problem with these model cars and acura refuses to fix this defect. Does someone have to lose their life due to this defect before acura acknowledges there is a defect and a problem?

On june 13, 2015 while driving on a rainy night i hit a pothole that caused the driver's side curtain & seat airbag to inflate. The impact of the curtain bag to the side of my head caused me to lose control but regained it quickly. I drove to a shell service station to inspect the vehicle for damage. The only damage was to my passanger side tire that had a 2 inch long gouge. The tire did not go flat. I called my parents and we drove the car home.

The dashboard isdeveloping large cracks all around the right front passenger airbag.the cracks continue to spread and have caused significant damage to the dashboard leading to major concernfor the safety ofthe driver and front seat passenger as to whether thedefect has compromised theairbag deployment.

Air bag light came on and air bag wasdefected and i had to pay for it . My dashboard crackedcnd my dash light s don't work they sometime come on and go off

My 2005 acura tl is developing cracks in the dashboard.one of the cracks of major concern is the one that is forming along the right-hand side of the passenger airbag.i am afraid that the crack will cause the airbag to malfunction!the bag may deploy suddenly while driving, it may deploy upwards rather than forwards; it may cause the dash to crack further and spray the passenger compartment with dash shrapnel, or the cracks themselves my puncture the airbag - each causing a great safety concern including death or severe injury.the airbag light started to appear intermittently after the cracked formed around the airbag.i am afraid to fill the crack as that may also affect the airbag and safety of the vehicle.this problem is so widespread that social media groups have been formed - such as on facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/acuratldefectivedash/posts/219662424726766 ).it seems to affect many of the acura tl models 2004-2008.the company should take responsibility and create a recall due to safety concerns for their passengers.

Dash board began to crack alongside the right of the passenger dash airbag.the passenger side dash airbag is increasingly noticeable.since june of 2014, the entire dashboard has continued to crack and is now significantly damaged due to the continuation of cracking that has evolved from the initial crack along side the airbag.fayetteville, arkansas acura service department insists that there is not an issue with the model & that the airbag/dash damage is not the responsibility of thevehicle manufactures to replace & that there has not been a recall issued for my make/model/year nor vin #.

Cracked dash board right over the passenger side air bag. Very unacceptable for this type of car and a huge safety concern.

My 2005 acura tl has developed a significant dashboard crack along the perimeter of the passenger side airbag location. This is a well known issue posted on many internet sites including many reports onfacebook community: https://www.facebook.com/acuratldefectivedash/posts/219662424726766?additionally, many others have submitted complaints to nhtsa expressing their safety concerns. Since the time of the crack the airbag light will alarm. The dashboard crack is sharp and jagged edged.if the airbag is deployed the cracked dash will likely interfere in the airbag's trajectory and/or possible gash the airbag.in addition the cracked dash may spray pieces into the occupancy area. I am sure acura has not tested airbag deployment safety with a crack dashboard. The nhtsa needs to investigate this broad problem on 3rd generation acura tls (2004-2008), as acura will not address or even acknowledge this safety issue.i strongly encourage the nhtsa to follow-thru with an investigation. We do not need anyone being seriously injured due to these crack dashboards undergoing force of an airbag deployment. I am attaching a photo of my cracked dash. Original crack was ~3 inches, now the crack is 8-9".the crack continues to grow which amplifies the safety concerns.also attaching a photo compiled of other 3rd generation acura tls with same issue. Many photos are on the internet.

I own a 2005 acura tl and noticed a small crack in my dashboard about eight months ago. I took it to the dealership because my airbag light was on and they told me it was just a cosmetic defect and there was nothing they could do about it. Now over the past month there are cracks everywhere and acura still won't help because it's not under warranty. I am very concerned because i'm not sure if my airbags will work if needed and i'm also concerned that they could possibly deploy while i'm driving. This is a safety issue because i'm not protected from an accident and this defect could also cause an accident, causing serious harm to me and my family.

2005 acura tl dashboard cracks all over passenger airbag. Started as one small crack to having 8 large cracks. Airbag can deploy at anytime as the cracks get worse and worse putting my family and i in danger. Acura refuses to fix crack and it will cost $1000 + to repair.

Air bag dash warning light illuminates when front passenger seat occupied.

Air bag lights blinking off whether there's a passenger or.not.... My steering hard to turn when at low speeds .. Power steering pump fine and no leaks

The right side dash has cracked all around the air bag and now the air bag light goes off and on all the time.

Cracks have developed in dashboard of 2005 acura tl. Located along edge of passenger side airbag (outlining right side of airbag) and above steering column. Concerned that passenger airbag will not deploy, or will cause personal injury in the event it does deploy. Garage kept, apx 98k miles when first crack appeared.

My 2005 acura has developed 2 very severe cracks in the dashboard surrounding the airbag on the passenger side of the vehicle.i am not sure how this will affect the performance in the event of an accident.

Passenger seat will trigger air bag dash light. Acura corporate says i am responsible to pay for repairs. Dealer says they pay for repairs, excluding $170 diagnostic fee. Safety issue should be covered without expense to consumer.

My acura tl has dashboard defective with cracks around airbag section and spreading consistently all around. It really looks ugly. I'm afraid one day the airbag will malfunction while driving. It happen suddenly and its spreading erratically. I also have the airbag indicator on when driving with a passenger. Half of the dashboard lights now needs replacement. This should be replaced free of charge and should be considered a recall. Honda/acura shall act immediately without any further delay. I bought this car new and took good care it. Their respond to this dashboard problems will make me and others re-think buying any acura/honda future vehicles. This is dashboard condition is unacceptable.

My airbag light is on as a result of my dashboard cracking.the dashboard started cracking and light came on a few years after i bought the car. I work from home so my car is parked in the garage mostly.in the past i've had cars sit in the sun all day and the dashboard never cracked.i have talked to acura several times about this issue and they are not willing to fix it.they want me to pay $700 to have it repaired even though it is a defect. I feel it is a safety concern and i do not have anyone sit in the front seat because i'm worried it will not deploy. I show many forums with the same issue but acura refuses to help.i guess they wont do anything until someone is injured.

These problems are not accident related but need to be addressed.my car battery kept draining. I replaced the battery just under a year ago and it kept happening unless i drove the car every day. Finally took it in to have it checked. The bluetooth device up in the headliner was shorted out. Got that fixed but found out that there is a class action lawsuit against acura for this very problem. It's been ongoing for 5 years! the airbag issue has to to do with the fact that my dashboard is cracked, horribly, even though my car has been garaged and protected from the sun most of the time since i bought it in 2011. If the airbags deploy in an accident, there will be major shrapnel from the dashboard damage that will cause even greater injury. I would like to know why acura is not doing anything about the faulty dashboard materials.

4 days ago, i noticed a small crack appearing alongthe passenger airbag and now, the crack has gotten worse. It as grown to circle around along the airbag.

Dash has cracked completely, disabling air bag system. The fact that this dashboard material has cracked all over has compromised the ability to deploy air bags safely. Verified by mechanic.now this car is dangerous to drive.if i have a front end collision, i might die.

Bought the car used from original owner. Dash had a single crack along passenger side/air bag. Now dash has multiple cracks surrounding passenger air bag area. Extremely concerned regarding air bag operating properly if deployed as well as shards/sharp pieces of dash flying if air bag is deployed. Disturbed that only some of the 2005 acura tl's have been recalled and not all from this year.

Four weeks ago, my dash all of the sudden got 2 large cracks. This car is garaged, and when parked outside at work, ad window shades to protect the dash and keep the front seats and steering wheel cool.my car was parked in the garage, and when i got it in, the cracks were there.

I didn't have an incident but my dashboard is cracked everywhere including where the passenger and driver airbags are located. Acura claims wear and tear because i live in south florida and refuses to fix this even though this is supposedly a luxury car and no other cars in south florida have this issue, plus my car is garage kept. This is a very dangerous issue and apparently 1000s of acura tl owners from 2004 have the same problem. These need to be repaired or the cars taken off the roads.

My 2005 acura tl has been kept in top condition and care.last year (2018) the dashboard began to split along the passenger airbag location.the crack spread from the front all the way to the windshield.now i get the seat belt warning lightanytime someone sits in the seat... Indicating the airbag is not functioning.i have been told that the fix will cost over $3500.00.at this time the vehicle in great condition is probably only blue book priced around $4,500.00?shouldn't honda/acura have some financial skin in this game?it just so happens that my acura is not part of the takata recall!this is a safety issue!!!

Large cracks have developed throughout the material used in the interior of the vehicle including all of the dashboard. I am concerned that this will prevent the airbag from properly deploying.

Dashboard is cracked in two places. One crack is right above the airbag. Not sure if it could cause the airbag to deploy? i have read that this is a problem with a lot of acuras.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While driving approximately 65 mph, a popping noise emerged from the dashboard. The contact pulled the vehicle over and noticed that a crack developed in the dashboard around the passenger side air bag. The air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000.updated 08/08/17*lj

The dashboard in my acura 2005 tl is cracked in several areas, most notably around where the airbag deploys on the passenger side. After researching, this is a common problem among owners of acuras years 2004 and 2005. The cracks seem to be all very similar locations on the dash. I am concerned that 1) the airbag won't deploy 2) the airbag will deploy incorrectly 3) upon deployment, the damaged dash will cause further harm to the passenger

Dashboard on passenger side has cracks forming around airbag location.

My dash has a crack on the passenger side where the air bag is , about 6 inches long.i am afraid that the airbag will inflate or deploy later on.

Cracked dashboard over airbag on passenger side in which there are post and complaints of the same exact crack in the same location on the acura tl 2005 and a few other years! i have another that just came up today 2-20-14 of a crack down the center into the speaker on the dash. This is a hazard as it is over the airbag and can cause severe damage and this should be recalled and fixed by acura!

Over a 24 hour period the a crack running the full width of the dash appeared immediately above the passenger side air bag. This has caused the airbag light to begin going on and off while driving.i do not know if the airbag is functioning properly.in the event of an accident it may mean that the airbag will not deploy or deploy correctly, or it may mean that the airbag deploys when it should not.it will also mean that shards of plastic from the dash will fly around the cabin causing additional and unnecessary injury to occupants.i will no longer allow passengers in my car for fear of the injury this may cause them.this is a well-known and well-documented problem with the 2005 tl.acura corrected the problem with subsequent models and has replaced the dash for many of those who complained, labeling it "goodwill", but they have not elected to correct the problem on all and do not deal with it consistently.please have acura issue a recall before someone is seriously hurt or killed because of this.

A year ago my dashboard began to crack for no apparent reason, last week my airbag light went on and stays on. Research show that a large number of people have the same problem.

I rear ended someone while driving on a busy southern california freeway.the car in front of me had slowed down after noticing that the person in front of her had slammed on her brakes.i was traveling at least 40 mph and did not notice the car in front had slowed down/stopped and i rear-ended her.her car had a lot of rear bumper damage.my car sustained the brunt of the force and was damaged in the front.no one was hurt, but my husband was in the passenger seat, while my 2 year old was in his car seat in the back.my airbags did not deploy, despite the fact that it was a frontal collision with extensive damage to the front.this accident, thankfully, was not fatal, however could easily have been.this happened on a very busy freeway with cars traveling at least 65 mph.it also happened almost immediately after a slight turn in the freeway, making it difficult for cars to notice an accident in time to stop.my car could have easily been hit from behind almost immediately after the collision.i don't feel safe driving it anymore (even after it's fixed) because i view that car as a loaded gun and i'm playing russian roulette.it's my primary mode of transportation and we use this car for any traveling we do. My son is mostly in my car (school, etc.).i wanted to report this so that this does not happen to others and, god forbid, be fatal.please investigate these incidences so no unnecessary consequences occur as a result of faulty airbags.

2005 acura tl dashboard has practically spilt wide open directly around the passenger airbag.the issue seems to be a defective dashboard that cracks vertically, as well as horizontally, right over the passenger air bag.my concern is the airbag deploying when there is not a crash, or if the airbag does deploy during a crash the force of the airbag may make it come out of the top of the dash instead of the front.this seems to be a major safety hazard, and acura has refused to fix the problem.there are thousands of complaints out there with the exact same issue, and i believe it should constitute a recall of the dashboard.

Takata recall?airbag light comes on periodically while stationary and while in motion.there are cracks in passenger side dashboard above the airbag.the cracks started appearing over a year ago, but they are expanding.

My son was driving straight down the road when the driver's side air bags suddenly deployed.

I am an owner of a 2005 acura tl that i purchased with 5,000 miles on it in 2007. This is my second tl and third honda all purchased through the acura dealer. My vehicle has been kept in mint condition and has always been serviced by montgomeryville acura in pa. In august of 2014 i noticed a large crack in my dashboard that ran along the front passenger side airbag area. A week later my airbag light came on and stayed on for 2 days without anything in the passenger side seat. It now randomly comes on at anytime during the day. I live in the north and have always kept a windshield cover on when not driving to protect my leather seats. I never used any type of product on the dashboard just wiped it with a clean towel to keep the dust off. I had no idea that this would happen to a 35,000 dollar acura tl dashboard. Reading several post it is a very common occurrence among 2004 - 2007 acura tl owners. I am extremely upset and very concerned about the possibility of airbag failure if the situation arose. I am considering legal action but would first like to see if this can be settled through good faith with acura.

To whom it may concern,i purchased 2005 acura tl at paragon acura in queens ,new york.that time when i purchased this car was brand new car.just happened last year the dashboard started to crack.beside all over near the dashboard and nears to the airbags.this is very dangerous and serious stuff and will caused accidentthis is the second time i contacted national highway traffic safety administration regarding this issues.please note that i also own a 2006 honda odyssey and this car the dashboard were fine as new.i'm so disappointed, i thought acura should be better than honda.please let me know is dashboard can be replaced with no charge or recallplease see attached photo againregards,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Almost overnight cracks in the dashboard developed running from windshield to passenger compartment in direction.there are six cracks the longest being about a foot in length. In the heat of the day all of the cracks seem to seal back up but immediately reappear when the passenger compartment cools down. To be specific the longest crack runs windshield to compartment on the passenger side of dash.two smaller cracks run from windshield to center speaker and speaker to compartment. Two more run from windshield to instrument panel.again all seal in extreme daytime heat.

My airbag light keeps coming on and off randomly.

Light comes on and resets. Then comes on . Not trouble codes.

It happened years ago - the passenger side dash cracked. Now there are more cracks and i am reading that this could pose a risk if the passenger side airbag deployed.iā€™ve always thought it was a manufacturing flaw for the dashboard to crack in the first place but never did or said anything about it before.now i am concerned about the safety of my passengers.

My leather dashboard on the inside of my car is about 50% covered with cracks.

Airbag: cracked dashboard above airbag. Abs offsteering: (in motion and when stationary) steering wheel moaned while turning wheel/driving and even after parking and turning steering wheel. Brakes: (in motion) when going down on dips on road, brakes make noise and seem to slip.

Airbag light came on an intermittently for a couple of months regardless of passengers in the front seat or not.now it is on all the time.

Necesito saber si esta o no reportado como robado para comprarlo

Cracking dash board.doubtful that there isn't a takata airbag at the root of it that acura is not including with the other years of that recall.suspect dangers if bag gets deployed as dash would fragment out in expulsion.

My dashboard has 3 huge cracks over the front passenger airbag. I do not feel safe driving my car due to the feeling that the air bag can deploy any minute. I recently had my air bags turned off for piece of mind but now i put my wife and kids in danger because we no longer have safety air bags to protect us. This is also quite embarrassing when i drive business partners around town and my dash is cracked and the airbag lights are flashing. This is a beautiful car but defects like this give the brand a terrible reputation.

My acura 2005 tl formed giant cracks in the dashboard overnight. I am worried about the safety of the airbags due to these cracks,my research has shown that others have experienced this same problem and that the cracks only get worse and appear above the passenger side airbag if the dash is not replaced. Please see the facebook page devoted to this problem (photos included): https://www.facebook.com/acuratldefectivedash?sk=wall&filter=1 acura is not recognizing this a potential safety defect. I think they need to take responsibility for this defect and make an official recall and replace this for free. If anything happens to any of my passengers due to the cracks in my dashboard i am holding acura responsible for their care.

Dashboard has cracks starting from the area the front passenger airbag is located and has since spread to all areas of the dashboard. Acura has refused to acknowledge the defect, despite thousands of owners complaining. This issue has made its way to cnn, local news, numerous boards and websites, facebook, twitter, etc. The brand refuses to stand by their product and resolve the issue.

2005 acura tl dash seems to be very defective. The crack occurred over a months time.the crack is from the passenger windshield straight down over the passenger airbag.estimated crack measures about 2cm wide.if you look at the crack and the other complaints regarding this we all have the same concern, which is the airbag.at some point the crack is going to continue to get larger, wider and will effect the passenger airbag if it is not directly affected now.i purchased this vehicle for my 16 year old daughter due to the safety it had such high ratings on.this crack would not be so much of a concern if located somewhere else on the dash, but again it is directly over the passenger airbag.if everyone else is having this crack in the exact same location, it is very concerning that something was not put together as it should be and it should be an obvious recall.we should not wait to see passengers getting killed due to malfunction airbags or due to the dash to fix this recall.

2 large cracks in dashboard directly over passenger airbag.car is6 years old and garage kept.has only 46,000 miles.acura builds airbag into the dash and that's exactly where the cracks are forming.airbag light goes on and off.worried that airbag can not possibly function as intended with these cracks.dangerous and based on the number of complains acura knows about it and won't do anything.at the very least they are using poor quality materials in their "luxury" cars.

I am happy that i am not alone with this hazardous problem. I own a 2005 acura tl base and my dashboard where the airbag is suppose to deploy has cracks in it. It seems all 04-05 acura tl models are starting to notice these cracks.

I have a 2005 acura tl that has several cracks across the passenger airbag.when i noticed this problem earlier this year i searched google for the problem and found some very displeasing news that this has happened to a lot of other acura owners and honda/acura does not seem to care. For a luxury sports car with the luxury price that we all paid this is unacceptable.i love my car but this has devalued my car.the question is would i ever buy another acura since they don't seem to care.*ln

I own an acura tl 3.2 2005 with 51,700 miles. This morning my dashboard cracked in 5 different places for no reason. There was no collision or vandalism involved. I am concerned for my safety as i do not know the consequences of the airbag deploying and the dashboard cracking and debris causing injury. Called acura corporate and they claim is not a manufacturing defect (this issue has been reported by hundreds of people in various internet sites such as facebook) acura prides themselves on car safety but at the same time they will not take responsibility on this issue.

My 2005 acura tl is experiencing extreme cracking in the dash.the cracks are criss crossing over my passengers side airbag. I am afraid that the airbag will not work, prematurely deploy, or send bits and pieces of my dash flying at me if it did deploy correctly during a crash. This is a huge safety concern for me everytime i start my car and drive an hour to work and back each day.

My 2005 acura tl as well as my fiance's 2004 acura tl have developed dashboard cracks in exactly the same places around the passenger airbag. I'm very concerned for the airbags exploding unexpectedly due to this as it seems pressure in the airbag is pushing up the dash. We've found numerous other tl owners having the same issue. Acura is reluctant to deal with the problem and quotes well in excess of $1000 just for the labor to fix a clearly defective part that may have serious safety implications.

Dashboard cracks2-12 inches in length. Check airbag light comes on.could cracks effect airbag deployment?

I own a 2005 acura tl, and the dashboard, over the passenger airbag, is cracked.i contacted the dealership and spoke to a sales rep who advised that this is a problem in all of the "high temperature" areas of the u.s.and, acura knows that this is an issue, and they are willing to pay a percentage of the cost of replacement, so long as the vehicle fits the criteria.my vehicle has been very well maintained, and this is not a "cosmetic" issue.my primary concern is that the passenger side airbag may deploy while i'm driving, and potentially cause a crash.or, in the event that i am involved in the crash that the airbag may not work properly.i never imagined an issue like this would arise, and not be properly addressed by acura.i am very disappointed.

Significant crack in dashboard where passenger airbag is located. Started as a small crack but propagated to over 1 ft length within 48 hours. This appears to be a recurring issue for many acura tl 2004-2005 models (and possibly other years). Fear is it could pose an airbag safety hazard by affecting the integrity and performance of the passenger airbag.

1. This 2005 acura tl has been taken care of by the dealership for every major and non major fix, including paying the outrageous $125 for oil changes.just after my warranty expired the dashboard began to crack around the passenger side air bag. I am worried that my dashboard and airbag plate are not safe to drive with.currently there are 6-7 cracks roughly 8"-16" long. Acura told me there is nothing they can do except charge me $1500 to replace the dash.

2005 acura tl. Consumer states possible electronic interference between a cell phone and the car's electronic control due to an incident while backing up. *tgwthe consumer stated while trying to back into a tight parking space, he had his cell phone on the transmission lever over the metal top cover, possibly acting like an antenna. When he attempting to park, he went in the rear direction first, then went forward and backward again. When he placed the gear into reverse, the engine's rpm revved to maybe 4,000-5,000, then a strange noise occurred. The consumer turned the vehicle off then on again and the engine raced again.

My 2005 acura tl has lost power at least a dozen times while i have been driving on the freeway. The battery also completely drains after the car has not been driven for a day or two. I just replaced the battery and have had the alternator tested at least half a dozen times by 3 different mechanics. My issues sound very similar to the fuse box recall but my vin does not fall under the recall apparently.

Purchased new, since 2005 the vehicle has had a parasitic battery drain which causes the vehicle not to start. Over 10 batteries have been replaced by acura dealerships or aaa. I was told by former certified acura service representativethat this problem is with the vehicles hands free system control module. Acura has known, internet research, and my conversation on this date 5/9/2016with an acura customer representative confirmed that acura has known about this problem since 2004. This is a serious problem which can cause the vehicle to stop moving resulting in loss of power steering, control, or potential serious accident. Another serious factor is that there is no warning sign when the vehicle battery will fail. In the event that the battery fails with out any warning whatsoever in an extreme cold, heavy rainfall, flood conditions could possible result in loss of life. Think of the possibilities with children in the vehicle. Common sense dictatesthat my complaint and all others who have taken time to file complaints regarding this serious problem should result in a nhtsa recall. The people of the world who buy vehicles don't need bad takata inflators or bad ignition switches .what we need is a nhtsa which will responsibly enforce all automobile manufactures to provide quality vehicles that have the best safety features.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle began to smoke. There was no fire and the fire department was not contacted. There were no injuries. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the power steering pump fluid was leaking into the catalytic converter. The contact was advised that the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 08v091000 (steering). Tim short acura (131 maccorkle ave sw, charleston, wv 25303) informed the contact to bring in the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Also, while attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start and the key immobilizer indicator flashed. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

2005 acura tl..battery needed replaced twice and vehicle only has 60k miles.

I purchased this vehicle from the oringinal owner 11-17. He didnt inform me of any problems with the vehicle.three days after purchase i had a dead battery. Then i noticed the speedometer and tach would stop working when i was driving, also the vsa warning light would come on when i was driving. I searched on line and found that there was many complaints about my same problems, and that the dealer was no help at all. I tried disconnecting the hands free link, but i still had a dead battery the next day. The only solution i have found is to disconnect my battery every day when i come home. I replaced the battery in jan. 2018. There are also receipts in the vehicle from the origanal owner for the same problems.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the engine stalled and restarted a few moments later. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the fuel pump fuse was replaced. In addition, the electrical fuse box was replaced by the dealer. After the repair was performed, smoke emitted from the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for the second time where the wiring harness was replaced. There were two recalls under nhtsa campaign id numbers 07v097000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 05v132000 (electrical system) however, the contact's the vin was not included in either recalls. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.

The vehicle initially ran into an issue where it wouldn't start approximately 2 years ago in 2015. I have had the battery replaced at least 4 times in the last 2 years. I understand that there is an issue with the hands free blue tooth causing an electrical drain on the car; however, still no recall from honda. Despite the fact that i've had the car services at several different shops & have spent money replacing batteries as well as other components associated with the electrical, the issue continues to persist and there are instances where it won't start.

1. Hfl lhas continuously drained several batteries since i purchased the car in 2008. Until recently i did not know it was the hfl until the acura dealership said it's a known problem and it either needs to be repaired or removed. It's very expensive to repair, so i had it removed. I also just purchased a 2007 acura tl s and while i was sitting at the dealership inputting the radio info and attempting to connect with to the hfl link the battery became completely drained in less than 10 min. The hfl has not worked in the 2005 since i bought it and it does not work on the 2007 either. I have a separate complaint form filled out for that car. The dealership said it's a known problem with acura tl, but not a recall yet. It should be a recall.2. The power steering has seemed to go outover the last 8 months and it has become difficult to steer. If i can remember there was a recall regarding the power steering hose for this model tl. I believe it was repaired during the initial recall, but the acura dealership refuses to replace the part again even though the same problem is happening again.

Found a crack on the driver side dashboard over the odometer.car was parked was never been in an accident before.

I have. Noticed large cracks on top of the dash , some where my airbags are. What if the deploy? these cracks came out of nowhere and i feel they are hazardous to my airbags if they deploy

2005 acura tl battery dies unexpected leaving motorist stranded, 2nd battery in 4 years. Possible cause is hands free phone link does not release. Numerous reports of this battery dieing problem on internet forums.

Takata recall - my drive is flashing which is to do with my transmission and i'm having wiring problems also. Also i have no bright headlights they just completely stopped working and it's a wiring problem.

Car is leaking oil gradually. Puddle in amber brown color on the garage floor

The hands free link (hfl) modules have been failing resulting in a 200ma current drain.this results in the module shorting out and may subsequently result in a fire.i discovered this as a result of the battery draining to 5 volts overnight as well as a much high than normal temperature of the plastic cover under the hfl module.i removed the module according to acura service bulletin 05-020 dated september 23, 2005.

(inside vehicle/stationary) driver side door lock fails to pop up and down when button is pushed/activated.

My issues with my car started about 3 years ago. I have had to replace the power steering rack and pump after the acura recalled the hoses, but i was told that the hoses had nothing to do with my issue.i have had to replace the starter, the headlight computer unit, and both ignitors in the headlight.i am on my third battery in 2 years and no one can tell me why my battery is continuously dying.about two years ago, the bluetooth system all of a sudden stopped working. In the last year, my dashboard has started to crack from the driver to the passenger side, and the damage is much severe and prominent over the air bag area.i was told by acura support that it should not cause any problems to the air bag, and the air bag should deploy appropriately with no problems.prior to me purchasing my so-called "luxury" acura, i had a 2000 honda civic, and i never had any major issues with it.thinking that i purchase an acura, and it was the worst mistake i've made in my life.i have advised all my family and friends not to purchase an acura because the quality sucks and it is a waste of your money due to all the money you have to put in for the repairs.in the past couple of months, i've spent almost $4000 on repairs for simple things like headlight issues and sensors.i spoke with acura customer care about assistance with repairing my dashboard and i was offer a 50% discount based on their criteria which i believe are ridiculous.one of the criteria that they look at is to see have you been a loyal customer as far as maintenance and repairs are concerned.i informed the guy that the nearest acura dealership is an hour and half away from my home, and it made no sense for my to drive the distance for an oil change.completely fed up with acura!!

Takata recallcar makingnoise while driving and reversing. Windshieldwipers sprayer stop working. Radio won't turn on

The car is been sitting for about 4 days and the battery is dead again. This has been the issue since i bought the car. It was taken to the dealer when this first happened and i was assured that the problem has been fixed. However, over the years i have replaced numerous batteries. Internet research proved that the problem is with hands free system and acura knows about the problem for long but has done nothing to fix it.

Consumer's dad purchased a 2005 acura tl that have faulty tires and other problems.*njwithin two weeks of purchasing the vehicle, the consumers dad had to return to the dealer, because the door seal needed to replaced and the battery died. The dealer dignaosed the vehicle without even looking at it, by saying it was the torque steer.on one occasion, the vehicle failed to start. The consumer still contined to complain about the vehicle pulling to the right.at times the vehicle would pop out of or grind into third gear. The lower ball joint had failed. It ripped out the drive shaft, bent the lower control arm, damaged the body and leaked transmission fluid all over the road. Updated 04/29/09.

Power steering problem. Inside permanent problem.

I went to go at a stop light i got to about 15 mph and my car jus lost all power and didn't restart. When i tried to turn the key on and off again no power as well as everytime i put the key in the ignition it makes this weird buzzing noise when i try to turn it over.

Engine noise: a vibration and low buzzing sound in 5th gear caused by normal engine vibration at around 1,500 rpm, requiring a vibration damper near the rear motor mount.also causing vibration on steering wheel at normal highways speed limits. And causing tires to cup and get bald. Very dangerous to drive on freeway causing steering to be very erratic due to vibration from front and rear broken engine mounts. Check-engine light: the check engine light may illuminate and a trouble code for the coolant sensor may be stored, but the problem is most likely a software glitch in the engine control modulebrakes: brake pedal may feel spongy or have excessive travel due to air in the brake lines requiring replacement of the vsa modulator. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that while driving 3 mph, the vehicle stopped moving although the engine was still running. The traction control lights illuminated at the time of the failure. The vehicle then reset and was able to be driven. The vehicle was taken to a personal mechanic for diagnosis and the contact was told that the vehicle had initiated in open loop mode, causing the vehicle not to respond to the throttle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 136,800.

In the acura 3.2 motors, the cylinders have oil release holes that are not smooth which is causing metal shavings to get stuck, shave and damage the cam shafts and cause motor failure. They are causing serious grooves on the outer 2 cam bearings that have the larger release holes. My motor failed due to this. I was driving, car stopped running, i thought my timing slipped. I pulled the motor apart and my cam was seized up after looking into it further. I order a new motor same year, make, model, thinking it was just my motor. I pulled the new motor apart and i found the same issue! the cam was getting scored due to the oil release hole not being smooth. I also realized that on the side that was not getting damaged it had an oil sylph, and which the side that was getting damaged did not.

Was driving in stop & go traffic and the check engine light went on.approx 50 miles later while driving at 55mph the check engine light started flashing and the engine started running very roughly.pulled off road andhad car towed to dealership.dealership identified that the ignition coil had water on it which shorted it out.short also required replacement of one computer in the car.water was from blocked hose from area directly under windshield which had been blocked by debris.dealer advised that they had same problem come in a few weeks earlier.in that case, the ignition coil had burned into the engine head, requiring a replacement engine.

The car experiences fluctuations in vehicle rpm at all speeds while keeping the accelerator pedal constant.this is noticed with and without the air conditioner on and at various speeds but more noticeable at around 40mph.i brought it to my dealers attention at the second year state inspection service (15,793 miles) but nothing was done as i thought i would continue to monitor it.

Only after 4 weeks of purchasing a new acura tl 2005, the engine stalled in the middle of traffic.the battery and low oil pressure indicator lamps both came on.the car had to be shut off and re-started four times before the engine re-started.the car was at the dealership for 9 days getting tests run, but they found nothing and wanted to return the car in the same condition!

My leather dashboard on the inside of my car is about 50% covered with cracks.

While driving at 65 mph and using the navigator system, the system directed the driver to make a left turn into a guard rail.the driver was able to avoid from driving into the guard rail.the dealer was notified.there were at least two places on the turnpike where the navigational system would direct people to turn into the guardrail per consumer. *sc

I have noticed for the past 2 weeks that my left side headlight on my 2005 acura rl works intermittently. Once i hit a bump it goes out completely until i turn off the car and restart. As of today 1/01/2011 it has been out for 2 days. I will be taking it in to have the dealer give me a deep pocket massage(quote). I can not continue to drive with one headlight. Unless acura accepts responsibility for the manufacture defect i will have to pay. Please review all other complaints and understand that this is not a cheap fix. Thank you.

Air bag light came on and air bag wasdefected and i had to pay for it . My dashboard crackedcnd my dash light s don't work they sometime come on and go off

No accident - noticed on or about 12-26-2008 that passenger side headlight, when on, displaying a purple like tint- low-beam. 12-29-2008, bulb/light system failed. Dealer - 12/31/2008 states igniter, inverter and possible bulb failed. Repair 1000.00 plus. Inverter and igniter 700.00 + without bulb. Bulb 200.00 +.this is a very expensive repair for a 3-4 year old dealer only vehicle parts service.

Takata recall - my drive is flashing which is to do with my transmission and i'm having wiring problems also. Also i have no bright headlights they just completely stopped working and it's a wiring problem.

My fuel pump is knocking, shaking, causing my car to cut off, and causing the vhs light to come on which is a signal that my brakes are being effected. The staff at carland acura played games with me on the phone when i told them there was a recall regarding this problem. They kept putting me on hold and transferring be from one department to another. The manager, [xxx], argued with me stating that their was no recall on the fuel pump/fuel system because he had already researched it. Can someone help me with getting my car repaired. I have small children that i have to transport in my vehicle. Can someone make a dealership, acura, or honda accountable for my vehicle so that i can travel safely.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl.while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle failed without warning.the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired under nhtsa campaign id number 07v097000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump).three months after the repair, the contact was unable to start the vehicle and it was towed to a local dealer.a mechanic stated that the fuel pump assembly was defective and they made the replacement.within the same year, the vehicle failed twice in the same manner as the first failure.the dealer replaced the same component at the contact's expense.the manufacturer has not provided any assistance.the failure mileage was 45,000 and current mileage was 81,000.

On four separate occasions i have applied the brakes to either come to a stop or to decelerate the car, and the result has been a sharp increase in engine revolutions and resultant torque.in short the car wants to lurch forward.this event has happened to two drivers of this vehicle.there has been a time when approaching a light and the engine did not rev until the car was at a complete standstill, and another when the engine revolutions sharply increased the moment the brake pedal was actuated.the incident was first reported to the dealer's service department on january 16, 2009.the car was test driven by an acura technician and the incident did not replicate itself.the brakes were found to be fine.no codes were found.the technician also checked acura tech line for similar concerns and found none.the acura tl was bought in again after the latest incidence, february 8, 2010 and again a test drive with a technician did not replicate the condition.no trouble codes were stored in memory.in every instance this event has occurred the only solution has been to bring the car to a complete stop regardless of how hard the car want to lurch forward,or if there is traffic around, put the transmission into neutral, and tap the accelerator.immediately after tapping the accelerator, the engine revolutions immediately lower to a natural idle.

Driving on highway and gas pedal failed to operate proper....after slowing down to about 20 mphit started up again and i regained the speed of about 60. Then in about 2 miles it happened again, i got off the highway and took to the closest acura dealer. They replaced the app sensor and noted "pedal position sensor failure" the pedal position sensor was replaced.this happened on june 5, 2012, then on september 3, 2012 i was parking in our office parking lot and the gas petal accelerated as i was puttingthe gear shift inthe park position. I accelerated so fast i hit the concrete stop took off airborne went over the embankment and down to the street below. Needless to say the car entirefront end was wrecked. The seat belt did indeed save me from more serious injury than i did received.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that while traveling 55 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning. The contact was able to merge to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle.the vehicle was able to be driven to the contact's destination and was later taken to a private mechanic, where it was confirmed that the fuel pump failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the issue and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 07v097000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump). The failure mileage was 190,000 and the current mileage was 200,000.

The car cannot be unlocked either with keys or manual button. The driver was locked inside and cannot get out.police had to be called. Even with the police assistance, the car still cannot be unlocked from inside or outside. The drive was absolutely trapped inside the car.

Incidents started occurring immediately after purchase of car. Trunk lid springs do not have sufficient tension, such that when we open the trunk on even a slight hill the trunk lidmay stay up for a few seconds, but slams shut either immediately, after something of weight is put in the trunk, or if a breeze comes up. This has occurred several times to my wife and me, resulting in the trunk lid hitting our head or spine with sufficient force to cause significant pain and a wound. If this happened to a young child, it could result in serious injury.acura replaced one spring with a stronger one, but that has done almost nothing to help. The service manager at the dealer also checked other '05 acura tl models and they did the same thing. He acknowledged it is a safety issue and said he would report it to acura. The dealer was unable to make any further adjustments to the springs.i complained to acura customer service and they acknowledged they have had similar reports. However, they said they did not have a sufficient number to justify a recall or to even come up with a solution.thus i am contacting you. This is definitely a safety hazard and appears to apply to all 2005 acura tl's (at least a representative sample at the dealer).we now have to hold up the trunk lid with one hand while putting anything in the trunk while on even a slight incline.

I was backing out of a spot, as i usually do, the car took longer than usual to shift from park into drive (about 3-4 sec). Drove normally for about a half-mile, stopped at a red light, went to accelerate, and then the transmission wouldn't come out of 1st gear and revved super high. Pulled over, then drove to my mechanic about a half-mile back at about 8-10 mph with my caution lights on. He took it for a test drive and said it seemed fine (i.e. The transmission didn't slip), but what i explained to him sounded like the onset of transmission failure). He suggested something could have gotten lodged in there and blocked fluid flow, and when i turned my car off and he started it, that it could have fallen out before his test drive. Ever since "the incident" the transmission is very slow up-shifting from 1st to 2nd and makes a noise when doing so, and also is very slow shifting from park to drive, or reverse to drive. My car has about 162,000 miles on it. As of now, nothing has been repaired on it, and was advised not to change the transmission fluid as this often causes transmission failure in these vehicles around this mileage.

The vehicle was accelerated at approximately 65 miles an hour, then all of sudden the transmission of the vehicle down shifted coming to abruptly speed to 20 miles an hour, and would not accelerate above that.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the transmission inadvertently shifted and caused the vehicle to become inoperable without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

>on thursday 07/04/13 my transmission gave in. I was on the freeway when the car lost power and the transmission would not connect. There was no car behind me otherwise there would have been a major crash. There was no signal or check engine light that came up.the car has 80 k miles on it. This car has been maintained by the local honda dealer for every thing including oil changes etc. The car per the dealer was deamed un drivable and unsafe to drive. > this car was manufactured in 2005. Purchase date 11/14/05. I understand that there was a recall in 2003 and 2004 for similar issue. The car is currently at the honda dealership in fremont. Autonation honda. For me the issue is about me and my family saftey. In the car was my 5 year old son.>

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl.the contact stated that the check engine light was illuminated and that the vehicle would not shift into any gear. In addition, the vehicle was resistant to acceleration attempts.the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who advised the contact to replace the transmission.the manufacturer informed the contact that her warranty did not cover the failure and offered no further assistance.no repairs were performed.the current and failure mileages were 76,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician stated that the transmission would have to be replaced.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.

Takata recall - my drive is flashing which is to do with my transmission and i'm having wiring problems also. Also i have no bright headlights they just completely stopped working and it's a wiring problem.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While attempting to accelerate from a stop light, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the rpms increased, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The check engine warning light illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the filter system in the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

I recently purchased a 2005 acura tl from the original owner and have noticed a front end vibration when driving on the hwy between 65-80 mph.the original owner put on the vehicle new tires and new brakes at 62,000 miles.i just put on new rotors and i even had a high speed wheel balance on all tires when i started to feel the vibration at 62,500 miles.when the vibration starts i call feel it in the steering wheel, brake and gas pedals and heavy in the front end.once i start to slow down, the vibration will stop.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stopped accelerating. The vehicle was towed to an independent transmission shop and the contact was informed that the torque converter failed and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 62,000.

I left my car to get my phone while car was parked on the driveway with the engine running, transmission in parking and door on the driver side open. Less than 2 minutes later when i returned my car was gone. Looking around, i saw my car at least 30 yards downhill from the driveway lodged against an f450 truck. My car - i assume in parking mode - climbed up on the driveway incline, hit a garbage bin on the other side of the road, made a 180 degree right turn, traveling in reverse direction crushed in to the parked truck's left side fender and bumper (the truck was parked on the oncoming side of the road).. The damage to the trucks fender was a small dent and scraped off paint on the bumper. I found my car's trunk lid severely dented, and the rear bumper also dented and slid to the side. The crystal of the passenger side rear light assembly broke. Thr damageto my car was estimated to be between $3-4,000. Photos of damage are available.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle would not accelerate as the vsa warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure continued to recur intermittently. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and shifted out of gear without warning. The vehicle was not repaired, but it was diagnosed that the transmission failed. The vehicle was towed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the vehicle overheated, slipped out of gear, and operated abnormally. Upon inspection, the contact stated that the transmission filter fractured and detached and the debris clogged the transmission. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that it was up to the consumer to change that specific part out, even though it was not listed as a recommended part to replace in the manual. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.

I was driving my car out of nowhere it lost power this the third time it happens. Its really scary because the last time i had my baby with me and that happened. I had to park and turn off the car also when i reverse it takes long to change gear.

1) it happens when the car is at 105,000 miles. 2) the failure of transmission of acura tl 2005. 3) part repaired and cost $4000 from acura dealer.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact was driving approximately between 40-45 mph on normal road conditions and suddenly, there was a slow power response and the transmission failed without warning.the driver was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer.the failure was contributed to the transmission which required replacement.the vehicle is the process of the being repaired at a transmission auto shop with a rebuilt transmission. The failure mileage was 91,000.

I was driving on the highway (684south), and my car's automatic transmission failed on my 2005 acura tl. As i stepped on the accelerator, the car had no motion. I pulled over immediately, and i called aaa to tow my car. The company that towed my car had inspected my car the following day and informed me that i was in need of a new transmission.i had then called aamco in mahopac, ny, that specializes in transmissions, to get a second opinion. After making a transcan, they informed me that the torque converter failed, where it caused a great amount of heat affecting the turbine assembly causing the gears and converter clutch to break down. I was informed that this was a common problem in many cars made by honda and acura. Therefore, i am respectfully asking your organization to investigate if there are other complaints similar to mine.i am the second owner of the car, which i purchased at 25,000 miles, and when this problem occurred, it happened at 75,000, where i was driving for approximately for about one hour on the highway.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl.while driving 5 mph, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle gear shifted from automatic to manual without warning.the dealer stated that the mode switch failed due to something being spilled on the switch.the dealer replaced the mode switch.there is a service bulletin for the automatic transmission (nhtsa item # 10014766).the current mileage is 20,552 and failure mileage was 20,545. The consumer provided the repair invoice for the vehicle. Updated 09/05/07

Driving normal on the highway @ ~65mph, transmission begins to slip and then suffers from a lose of all acceleration power, car acts like it is in neutral.could have been in an accident if it happened while merging onto the highway.

We've serviced our vehicle regularly and as recently as 2 times in the last year at the dealership (once for service and the other for a recall) and 1 time at an independent transmission shop. The service people at honda found the fluid to be good and said "the transmission does not need service... Have it checked at approximately 62,000miles, which we did. We had the transmission completely flushed and the fluid replaced at approximately 62,000 miles. The car is a 2005 acura tl. It was out of warranty with approximately 75,000 miles on the vehicle. We were driving on the freeway when a nearby motorist directed us to pull over. Apparently there was smoke fuming from the vehicle. At that point there were severe power fluctuations and the car rev'd over 5000 rpms. The transmission had discharged a tremendous amount of fluid and nearly caught on fire. We had the vehicle assessed independently and then at the acura dealership in montclair. Both found the transmission to be completely burnt and inoperable. There is a serious problem with the design of the acura tl transmission that can lead to accidents and/or car fires.

Vibrations felt from floor board and steering wheel and "buzz" noise heard from the hood when traveling at 50-55 mph. Condition observed only when rpm is at 1500 mark.condition becomes more apparent when there are more than 1 person in the car or when car is on an ascent highway.

On 9/15/09, while pulling into a parking lot in a parking garage at work, my 2005 acura tl accelerated (on its own) and crashed into the concrete barrier causing the air bag to deploy.i did not have my foot on the gas pedal and the car mat was not stuck under the gas pedal.i was coasting into the parking space when the car "took off" and accelerated into the barrier in front of the garage wall.for about the last two years or so, the transmission on my car would regularly cause the car to accelerate for a short time right after the gas pedal is pushed.it "jerks' forward when going at low speeds. It happens regularly/daily.i brought this to the attention of my acura dealer on two occasions when i brought my car in for service. They told me there was nothing wrong. After the accident above, i told them to check out the problem and they told me nothing is wrong.i am still waiting for my car to be repaired from the accident and i am concerned that it is unsafe to drive.the impact of the incident resulted in bruises and neck and shoulder injuries.

Center console automatic gear shift without a shift lock/release button, moves freely from drive position into neutral/reverse up to park without having to step on the brake. It happened to me twice at speeds between 5-10 miles per hour.

I wish to report the catastrophic failure of the clutch of a 6-shift standard 2005 acura tl [xxx].the car has less than 6,000 miles and less than one year of moderate use.while going up a hill in a three lane expressway, i lost the torque to the wheels and the car ended on neutral, forcing me to make a dangerous maneuver to park the car on the shoulder of the expressway.upon opening the hood, it was evident that the clutch had burned out.i understand that failure in material or workmanship was the cause of the catastrophic failure.sudden loss of power at expressway speeds is dangerous and could result in an accident.i report this to you so that you can keep a record of this defect of the 2005 acura tl (6-shift standard).updated 07/16/2012 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl.while driving 20 mph, the contact heard a loud popping and grinding noise.he exited the vehicle and noticed that the driver's side wheel was bent outwards from the hood.the vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the lower ball joint failed and caused the wheel to come off.the vehicle was repaired.the manufacturer advised the contact to call the dealer to determine the cause of the failure.after further investigation, it was determined that the dealer was the cause of the failure and no compensation would be made.the failure and current mileages were 21,000. Updated 04/24/09.*ljthe consumer stated the upon delivery of the vehicle, it pulled strongly to the right while driving.

6 speed manual transmission is synchronized poorly making it difficult to shift into 3rd & 4th gear smoothly and sometimes will pop out of gear when you think you have shifted sufficiently.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While driving 40 mph andshifting into third gear, the vehicle popped out of gear and approximately 15% of the time it would not shift at all. The dealer changed the transmission fluid which remedied the issue for a month. He was also told that there was no service bulletin related to the issue. The manufacturer also refused to assist him. The current mileage was approximately 27,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 3,000.updated 07/15/08 the gear box did not engage properly into 3rd gear. The consumer believed there was a defect with the synchro which was a defect in the transmission.updated 07/15/08

Purchased a 2005 acura tl a-spec 6-speed manual in 2007.current mileage is 42,000.since date of purchase transmission will pop out of 3rd gear several times each week while driving.

6 speed manual transmission is synchronized poorly making it difficult to shift into 3rd gear smoothly and sometimes will pop out of 3rd when you think you have clutched sufficiently. Nj dealer said acura has complaints about this and may change transmission in future years but will not do anything for existing vehicles.

6 speed manual transmission is synchronized poorly making it difficult to shift into 3rd gear smoothly and sometimes will pop out of 3rd when you think you have clutched sufficiently.dealer claims there isn't a problem and will not fix the issue.

The automobile has a manual transmission with an intermittent shifting problem. Shifting into 3rd gear can result in partial engagement and "pop out" of the shift resulting in loss of power and deceleration.when this occurs on acceleration in traffic, a near accident has occurred as the car has slowed down in merging traffic. The automobile manufacturer has a service bulletin (08-018) that requires the dealer/service provider to "drive a known-good vehicle" and compare with the client's vehicle, and replace transmission parts if noticeable shift quality differences. Repeated efforts to get the dealer to acknowledge the defect (faulty synchronizer) have resulted in "no problem found".

Srs light came on in dashboard.diagnostics indicated front passenger seat belt buckle (no continuity).accura warranty states, "will repair or replace any acura seat belt component that fails to function properly during normal use.this includes all parts and labor charges.coverage continues for 15 years or 150,000 miles whichever comes first.car is less than 15 years old and has 139k miles.the dealer replaced the passenger seat belt assembly costing $429 and said i had to get warranty claim from acura hq.i contacted acura client relations (case # 100009213) and was told it was not covered under warranty because the seat belt was not defective.how a call center rep over the phone could tell me what was or was not wrong with the seat belt assembly is a mystery.further, he selected the sensor as a component that he said was not working and he did not consider that a component of the seat belt assembly.the issue is that acura can't selectively define what is and is not a component after stating in the warranty, "repair or replace any acura seat belt component that fails to function properly...."the word, "any"by definition means not specific or particular.the safety issue is that acura has not met its obligation to ensure that the seat belt components are functioning properly within the stated time period.

My son was driving straight down the road when the driver's side air bags suddenly deployed.

Air bag dash warning light illuminates when front passenger seat occupied.

Both front seats and the dashboard are extremely full of cracks for a vehicle with such low mileage and always well taken care of.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the yaw sensor chip needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

2005 acura tl.consumer writes in regards to vehicle brake malfunction.the consumer stated his wife to the vehicle to the dealer, to determine why it would suddenly brake on its own and loose power while driving in city traffic. The vehicle shuddered, braked harshly and the throttle response was nearly non-existent. The technicians at the dealer, ran a diagnostic test on the vehicle and decided to replace a brake switch. While returning from the dealer, the vsa light once again activated in the same manner as before. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, where they drove it for a while, but they were not able to duplicate the problem.

Brakes intermittently do not work.usually happens when turning and slowing down or going down a hill and stopping.has happened multiple times and has been in for service 4 times.the third time in the shop the abs was repaired due to an internal leak.apparently another car had the same issue.however, even after the repair, the car is back in service center for lack of brakes after approx. A month after repair.

Severe corrosion and grooving on rear brakes not caused by environmental conditions or normal wear(front brakes ok).could lead to accident due to diminished braking capacity. Almost identical pattern on left and right rear rotors. Found during ~ 21k dealer service but was there to lesser extent at about 12-15k miles. Rotors and pads replaced to correct the problem.i have learned from other 2005 and newer tl's they have had a similar problem at a similar mileage.digital photos and references to other owners can be provided.

My vehicle was in motion on power inn and calvine rd i was making a left turn onto calvine rd my right side wheel well whether holds the wheel had snap on me n i was stuck there for an hour till highway patrol came an called eagle towing.... But before the officer had arrived i tried shifting it into park it wouldn't let me i just bought the car from offerup an the person had informed me he replaced the tranny etc.... Idk i'm just stress about buying a new car an now it stuck sitting here in my garage and the most headache about this situation is i need to register into my name n i can't even do that now that his happen sigh if there's anything you guys can do for me and my girl i'd highly appreciate it please an thank you *date of incidentisn't correct i know i was the end of march or beginning of april i'm going to have my girl call eagle towing or highway patrol for actual information

2005 acura tl rack and pinion leaking at 72 k miles. Steering fluid has to be refilled every few days.this is a safety issue because the car could loose steering control anytime.

Power steering problem. Inside permanent problem.

I lose power steering at very low speeds, i.e. When trying to park or trying to reverse out of parking or make a turn, but once the speed crosses 10-15 mph, power steering is fine. So far it has not happened at highway speeds, but i'm worried it might happen. I've seen this same very complaint by other acura owners in multiple forums.

The power steering fails at low speeds. Parking, reversing and turning etc. Once you are going above 10 mph or so it seems to be okay.. But i am afraid this is going to happen when driving faster and something horrible happen. When i am trying to turn or park or get out of a parking lot... It is nearly impossible and scary that i am going to hit something or someone because i can't turn my car.

There was a safety recall for the power steering that i got repaired in spring 2008. I continue to have issues with my power steering and have had it replace maybe twice since 2008.

Acura has a safety recall on their power steering fluid hose. I have a 5 hour round trip to the dealer and they are not making an attempt to accommodate this issue through their scheduling - if this is an important recall (their issue) that can lead to a fire as they say, they need to ensure they have the processes and systems in place to accomplish the recall in a timely and effective manner.

The steering wheel stop functioning while driving without any reason. It's scary situation when driving on the road.

I am the original owner of this vehicle, and have routine maintenance performed on it at regular intervals.on july 23, 2018, approximately 4:15pm, i was exiting via reverse from a parking space at a local shopping center.i shifted the car into drive, proceeded forward at a speed of 3mph, for less than ten feet to make a slight left turn, when there was the sound of breaking metal, and the car came to a halt. The car was in drive, foot on gas, but would not move.i struggled to shift the gear into park, then restarted.the car would not go into drive, with great difficulty i got it into reverse, then rolled backwards into a handicapped parking space.the gear was now stuck in reverse, and key was locked in ignition.i immediately applied the emergency brake, turned on hazard lights, and exited the vehicle. I placed phone calls to a towing company, and my mechanic.upon inspection, it was determined "the driver's front axle assembly snapped in two. The axle shaft had rusted underneath the vibration damper.the passenger front axle assembly looked rusted".at my direction, the mechanic replaced both front axle assemblies.both myself and the mechanic searched for a recall, or even an update to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance/service, but found nothing.car axles should not randomly snap in half.i have had absolutely zero issues with my vehicle leading up to the event.thankfully, no one was harmed when this occurred.had i been traveling in a drive lane, whether it was in the shopping center or interstate, no doubt there was going to be a catastrophic situation, resulting in bodily harm and vehicle damage to myself and others.a copy of the repair bill is attached in the record for your reference.on august 7, 2018, i reported this to acura, reference case # 08888084.

Necesito saber si esta o no reportado como robado para comprarlo

The contact owns a 2005 acura. The contact stated that nhtsa campaign id number: 08v091000, steering: hydraulic power assists: hose, piping, and connections repair was performed; however, after the hose was replaced the power steering pump failed. The dealer stated that there were no recalls or warranties on the pump. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 56,000.

The dash on my 2005 acura tl started cracking very severely-i currently have a sizeable crack on the seam of my passenger side airbag. I have never seen this on a car. I fear for my safety as i wonder how these cracks impact my air bags.

My dashboard is crack right through the passenger airbag. If it deploys, i'm worried that pieces from the dashboard will injure somebody.

I have 05 acura tl. My dashboard started to crack. It seems the airbag is going to pop out. I really worried about this. I also found out alot acura tlthird generation r having the same problem. I hope acura can do a recall on their defective dash!

I have a 2005 acura tl, and the dash has cracked in multiple places, including areas around the airbag. This concerns me for my safety and i know this is a well known issue with no solution as of yet. I don't see how there hasn't been a recall on a part that is known to be defective and also very dangerous if the airbags ever deployed...

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard experienced cracking on both the driver and passenger sides near the location of the air bags. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 67,000.

The dashboard has cracked on several places, including one large crack over the passanger's airbag.i'm concerned that airbags will deploy unexpectedly as a result or that airbags will not deploy correctly.

There are two very large cracks on the passenger side dashboard that seemingly appeared overnight.specifically, the cracks that run through the area where the passenger airbag is located.

My 2005 acura tl's dashboard is cracked in multiple places consistent with the same cracks on '04 models.the cracks go right around the air bag compartment on the passenger side and i'm concerned it's going to weaken the seams on the air bag compartment.the cracks began last summer ('09) and continue to get worse.the local dealership simply doesn't want to accept poor quality goods as the reason to replace.the cracks are identical to many as seen on web message boards.

Recently my 2005 acura tl has developed two cracks on the dashboard.

Dashboard on my 2005 acura tl is cracked really bad. It is a garage kept car. I am afraid the airbag will deploy. Apparently after doing research on the internet a ton of people with the same make and model are having this issue. Please help!

2005 acura tl. Large crack on dashboard on passenger's side. Eventhough i noticed after 62k miles, will contact acura because this seems to be a recurrent problem with tls.

After getting in my vehicle in the morning noticed that the entire dash board on the passenger side had cracks both vertically and horizontally going from 2 to 12 inches in length.have been using a sun shade for the entire ownership of the vehicle (only owner), and once a month protect the dash with armor oil.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard exhibited hairline fractures that began at the windshield and extended to the air bag and glove compartment area.the dealer advised the contact that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 142,000.

Dashboard in 2005 acura tl cracked in several places. The right side of the dashboard houses the passenger air bag.

I own a acura tl 2005 which i bought in nov 2009 and last summer my cars dashboard developed multiple cracks. Now i am afraid if this will have effect on my airbags, i am noticing my cars audio already making some buzzing noise after the cracks. Please take necessary action on acura and make them replace these dashboards, this being a luxury model they should atleast not put in cheap material.

2005 acura tl dash is cracking.

Dashboard appears to be defective and cracked along the full right edge of the airbag compartment, which presents a potential safety hazard in the event the airbag is deployed or needs to deploy.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard had deteriorated around the passenger side air bag area. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to sun damage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the vin was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

Crack appeared in dashboard on passenger side of vehicle over the air bag area.there was no collision.had just had car in for oil change.noticed this the next day.when we went in to complain, we were told this was a known problem and there was no recourse.except we could pay for new dashboard for $1800,not really acceptable since we have done all maintenance on this vehicle.apparently acura was aware of this problem and didn't care.

The dash on my 2005 acura tl has started to crack and i am afraid it getting too close to where the passenger side airbag deploys. There are numerous complaint about the dash cracking online. This to me see like a major concern god forbid if i am in a wreck with a passenger. I went to my local dealership and they rejected the claim to fix this problem which is very upsetting since is either garaged or parked in the shade and this still happened.

My dashboard started to crash all over a few months ago. I'm using a shade, and use protection often and the problem is getting worst. I think that the dash board was poorly made. I'm very upset because i spend alot of money on this car.

Vehicle dash cover has large cracks running from defrost outlets aft to rear edge of dash cover, paticularly in the vicinity of the passenger air bag.passenger air bag is potentially exposed to uv damage and other contamination effecting deployment reliability.

My vehicle when it's at my personal address is always garaged and when it's at my work i have a windshield shade in the vehicle. Now on may 3, 2014 which in my garage there was a crack on my dash board. I read on line that this seems to be a defect in acura model tl's from 2004- 2007. This is too much of a coincidence that honda would agree to pay for some tl owners and not others.i believe this is a defect that honda needs to honor.

My dashboard recently developed a crack about 6 inches in length on the passenger side dashboard where the airbag is located. I have read where multiple incidences like mine have been recorded for this vehicle & acura apparently is not accepting responsibility for the obvious defect in this model.

2005 acura tl: the dashboard began cracking about a month ago over the instrument cluster and just yesterday it began cracking over the passenger side airbag. I believe this may pose a threat when the airbag is the deployed, because the crack may possibly rip the airbag. Airbag systems are designed to open a specific way, but a crack may interfere with that. There are also several100 other people on a vehicle forum that are having same exact problem. Thank you for your time.

The right side dash has cracked all around the air bag and now the air bag light goes off and on all the time.

I own a 2005 acura tl and purchased it new. I enjoy the car, however, noticed a crack that formed directly over the passenger's side airbag impression on the dashboard in august of 2011. The car had approximately 75,000 miles on it at the time, and has always been garage kept. I now have 83,000 miles on the vehicle, and the original crack that formed has now grown vertically from where the dash connects to the windshield all the way down to the glove box access. Additionally, several other cracks have formed around the passenger's side airbag impression on the dash, and most recently, i have a crack that formed on the driver's side of the dash. I have owned three other honda/acura products, and have never experienced this issue before. I have contacted the dealer several times, and right now am in the process of having a regional manager review my case. Even before hearing back from the regional manager, the dealer has already informed me that some "capital participation" will be required from me, and that the dashboard costs $1,850 not including tax. I am waiting to hear back what they will do for me, but based upon other comments from other tl owners i have seen on-line, i am not overly optimistic. Obviously aesthetics are a factor in this case, but more importantly, i am worried about safety of any passenger that may be riding in my car.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard started to deteriorate on the passenger side where the air bag was located. The dealer diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

2005 acura tl dashboard cracks all over passenger airbag. Started as one small crack to having 8 large cracks. Airbag can deploy at anytime as the cracks get worse and worse putting my family and i in danger. Acura refuses to fix crack and it will cost $1000 + to repair.

Dashboard is cracking where the side passenger airbag deploys and other areas on dashboard, i'm concern that if in time the dashboard will continue to crack if the airbag will deploy and hurt my passengers.

My 2005 acura tl dash has recently been cracking in numerous places. Specifically in the area just over where the passenger airbag is deployed. I am concerned about the potential safety risk this poses. This issue is apparent in a number of 2004 and 2005 acura owners i have talked to.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact noticed that there was a crack on the passenger side dashboard near the air bag and he was concerned that it would deploy without warning.the dealer did not offer any assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The current and failure mileage was 170,000.updated 07/08/11*ljupdated 07/20/11

Above the dashboard digitizer on plastic cover- huge crack !!!!spits the plastic cover for two separate pieces .no car crash during this incidence, this car has never been in an accident before.november9th morning went to the car to get in and notice the crack suddenly happen.the crack is noticeable and dangers, starts at the glass until through the odometer.

Crack started on passenger airbag in the dashboard. Now it has spread all throughout the dash and i am concerned with the safety of the car due to the cracks which have formed along the airbag. Have done research and it seems that it is a fairly common problem among this model car.

Dashboard has cracks that have appeared overnight, one is by the passengers air bag and is pretty large. About a year ago the plastic that covers the cupholders just broke when i tried to close it. Nothing forceful , just tried to close it in a regular manner.

Dashboard has several cracks in about 9 different places.car is garage kept and acura has offered a goodwill offer which is minimal in the cost to have the dashboard replaced.this leads to safety concerns with the passenger airbags.

2005, 78,000 acura tl (garage kept) cracks on dash above the instrument cluster and passenger side in middle. These cracks start from the window and end on the glove box and instrument cluster. What will happen when air bag deploys? i am afraid of when the air bag deploys that the dash will separate into several shards of plastic and imbed in face, upper-body of driver and passenger. Worst-case scenario is that the air bag will be defected, as the dash-console structure has been compromised. I have read numerous complaints and viewed pictures of the exact same defect online. What will it take acura to recognize that there is a problem with this dash does someone have to be hurt or worse die?

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard material was severely cracked at the windshield area and the passenger side air bag. The dealer was contacted and advised that they would contact the manufacturer for further assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 70,000.updated 03/16/12*lj

Like many others on this complaint website, my dashboard suddenly cracked around the airbag on the passenger side. There was no impact or accident related to the spontaneous breakdown of the dashboard. On a car as nice as the acura, i'm surprised they have not issued a recall, given how many complaints have been filed. I am thinking about a new car, and would think twice about another acura now.

2005 acura tl base navigation dashboard cracking on passenger side and in speaker area. Car has 88000 miles on it and this is not the quality i expect from acura being a loyal customer for years. Possible safety hazard to passenger if airbag were to deploy.

The dash board on passenger side has cracked. The car was parked in garage for few days before i used it when i noticed the crack. I got courage to report it here after i seeing others having same issue.

My dashboard had a small crack and it just got worst. More cracks on the front passenger air bag area which iis scary. I dont if it will trigger for the airbag to go off. I will try to call acura if they can do someting about it.

Dashboard cracks2-12 inches in length. Check airbag light comes on.could cracks effect airbag deployment?

The dash has increasing crack and cracked and cracked and now it looks like a spider web.

Dashboard on passenger side has cracks forming around airbag location.

I own a 2005 acura tl , which i happen to pay large amounts of money for this "luxury" car. Literally over night my cars front dash board had cracked. Its now has two large cracks on the front dash that are not surface cracks they actually are complete cracks through the dash from the very front, windshield, all the way to the other side, wood grain . One crack that happen to be very close to being on top of the front passenger side airbag. I have not been involved in any automobile accidents within a year, and the one i was involved in over a year ago was a minor fender bender. I have done research and thousands of acura tl owners have the same complaints and occurrences that only have gotten worse resulting in severalmore cracks to appear within a couple days to a month which concerns me. I am in fear these cracks and possible future cracks could result in my airbag sensors abilities to function correctly, which could lead to spontaneous release of them,.

Got in car and noticed cracks in passenger side of the dash board.cracked around passenger side airbag and cracked from speaker in dash to windshield.

I have a 2005 acura tl, and the dash has cracked in multiple places, including areas around the airbag. This concerns me for my safety and i know this is a well known issue with no solution as of yet. I dont see how there hasnt been a recall on a part that is known to be defective and also very dangerous if the airbags ever deployed...

There are several cracking on the dashboard.the crack right on the edge of the passenger airbag to all the way to windshield and another crack about 3 inches right of center speaker, above steering wheel another crack about 4 inches.please is it recall for acura tl 2005?

My dash board on my car has several cracks near the passenger side airbag. I notice the airbag light came on when there is no one sitting in the passenger seat. I attempted to turn the car on and off but the light never seems to disappear.

I have multiple cracks along my dashboard from the windshield down to the airbag, across the airbag, and across the steering column.the dealer refuses to replace since the car is no longer under warranty. This is obviously a mfg defect.i have parked next to the same model car and noticed the same cracks in the same error as well as researched online and discovered most 2004-2005 tl owners have the same issue. The dashboard should be recalled.

I just recently brought my used acura tl 2005 with 103k miles on it. When i brought the car the dashboard wasin perfect condition until a week later, which is today i woke up and found my dashboard to have 3 large cracks on it. One on passanger side airbag, middleand the driver side dashboard. It looks ugly and cheap now and when i searched on google of what have caused this to happen i found hundreds of people with the model of 2004 to 2006 tl having same issue and cracks on same places shocked me and hearing how acura is not recalling these cars or repairing them for free. The cost of new dashboard is $2,000 and i am a college student and i don't think it is fair for me or anyone else to pay for the damage which we had no fault of it.

I'd 2005 tl, yes was just turn 10 yrs . My dashboardwas cracking. I hardly heard anything like that. Dealer corporate don't want to deal with me. It's not safe for me to drive with cracking dashboard. Next thing someone told me i might had defects dashboard. Anyhow i don'tknowwhat to do now.

I own a 2005 acura tl with a cracked dashboard. It appears that the dashboard has become brittle and is cracking near the airbag location. I fear this could lead to a problem with either airbag deployment or shards of dashboard being hurled in the event of deployment. This issue seems to be affecting almost every 04-05 acura tl owner. Yet acura refuses to correct the problem. It's only solution is to charge owners $2,000 to replace the dash. As a side note, my car has always been parked indoors at home or in covered parking at my work. I avoid it being out in the sun and on the few times i have had to park in the sun i use a reflective sun shade and vent windows.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated there was a crack in the dashboard on the passenger side of the vehicle.the dealer stated in order to repair the failure, the dashboard assembly had to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 94,900 and the current mileage was 95,000.

I noticed a small crack on the passenger side airbag now it has spread across my whole dashboard there are many cracks.

I have cracks all over my dashboard. Acura does not seem to care about the issue. There are many many acura tl owners out there having the same issue with the crack dash boad.

The dashboard is cracked and has the potential for air bag issues.

Factory dashboard developed a 12 inch crack over the passenger airbag at 5 years, 83,000 miles. Crack appeared suddenly as opposed to a slow progression. Not used any cleaning products but was exposed to heat and sun under normal conditions of south florida.car is not under factory warranty however acura dealership explained that they have observed this happening to other tls and the company was offering a "good will" where customers would pay between $250 and $500 for the replacement of the dashboard while acura headquarters would cover the rest. The actual amount to be paid by the owner is suggested by the dealership on behalf of the owner and the final amount is decided by acura headquarters. Total cost of the job is approximately $1,700.acura accepted a good will for my vehicle in the amount of $250, which was my initial offer, and repaired the dash in 3 days while providing a loaner vehicle for the duration of the repair at no additional cost.

Three years after buying my tl brand new i noticed small cracks along the passenger side air bag.since then, they have only gotten worse.my entire dash has cracks on it.it would maybe make sense if my car was parked outside all of the time, but it is in the garage where the elements cannot get to it.i have done some research and found out that other people have had the same problem also.when i pay $40,000 for a car i do not expect these things to happen.i would really liketo know how i can remedy the situation.so, if you can give me any ideas that would be great.i see this is obviously a common problem and one that acura does not want to take care of because of the expense.i will definitely not buy another acura if this is the case.i truly thought iwas getting a superior product when i purchased the tl but it turns out i was wrong.if they want you compare themselves to bmw and lexus, then they better step up their game.

This isreference to my 2005 acura tl.i bought it brand new.two months ago a foot long crack appeared in the dash on 1 side of the passenger side air bag.three days later another foot long crack appeared on the other side of the air bag.i have tried to work with acura in getting this replaced due to the safety issue of the air bag but have only been offered a cost to me of $600 to do this.i do not feel that the air bag is safe at this point.

2005 acura tl. Consumer writes in regards to dashboard split repairs *tgwthe consumer stated there are seven jagged cracks; starting with the most severe which are over the passenger airbag and ending at the instrument panel.

Dashboard developed several massive cracks overnight. One crack is 12" and is over the passenger side airbag.

A crack appeared on the dash of my car around the outline of the passenger airbag. The entire dashboard has to be replaced.

Crack to the dashboard of 2005 acura tlalso the cover of gear shift box is cracked and makes shifting between gears hard or nearly impossible at times.

The dashboard on my acura tl 2005 cracked & they did replace my dashboard with "good will". My paint started fading all over my car & they would not do anything about the paint. The paint started fading at 95,000 miles.i have contacted acura's headquarters, sent letters & pictures & they said they will not do anything about it! the only reason they replaced my dashboard they said was to try to get my business! then they proceeded to say that because i only have owned 3 acuras i was not a loyal customer so they would not do anything about my paint! i had my car painted at a local business in town!i will file another complaint about my 2004 acura tl. That dashboard has so many cracks that i stopped counting. I sent pictures to headquarters but they said it was too old!!!

I own an 2005 acura tl bought 2 years ago from an acura dealer, like a year ago the dashboard started to crack now it has cracks all over including around the passenger airbag im concerned this could make the airbag deploy incorrectly,i called acura and told them my concerned but they don't share my opinion the only they could offer me its a 'goodwill' 40% discount on the part not the labor leaving me $1643 to pay for probably the same dashboard that its going to last me another 3 years.

Purchased new 11/2004, 2005 acura tl. Dashboard has cracked specifically around the passenger airbag. Acura will not replace as the 4yr/50k warranty has expired. Was advised further cracking may effect airbag function. Estimate on repair , $1800.00.

Why all acura tl 2005 , dashboards are cracking .my 2005 acura tl dashboard is cracking every day and i've seen plenty of acura tl with the same problem . So my question is why is there no recall on these car , why should i have to pay to replace this dashboard . Can someone tell me what to do ???

My 2005 acura tl has multiple cracks on the dashboard.in addition to the fact that it is extremely unsightly, i am concerned about what effect this will have if the airbags ever deploy.when i did a search on the internet, i found that this seems to be a fairly common problem for the '04 - '05 years, particularly in southern states.

Cracked dash board right over the passenger side air bag. Very unacceptable for this type of car and a huge safety concern.

I own a 2005 acura tl and noticed a small crack in my dashboard about eight months ago. I took it to the dealership because my airbag light was on and they told me it was just a cosmetic defect and there was nothing they could do about it. Now over the past month there are cracks everywhere and acura still won't help because it's not under warranty. I am very concerned because i'm not sure if my airbags will work if needed and i'm also concerned that they could possibly deploy while i'm driving. This is a safety issue because i'm not protected from an accident and this defect could also cause an accident, causing serious harm to me and my family.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that there was a crack, two feet long, in the dashboard directly over the passenger side air bag. As a result, the air bag light would intermittently illuminate. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the crack would not cause any issues. The manufacturer stated that the dashboard was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was 52,000 and the current mileage was 57,000. The vin was not available.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl.the contact stated that the dashboard was cracked in four different areas. The contact mentioned that one of the ares was close to the air bag, which could cause possible exposure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.the approximate failure mileage was 178,000.

My leather dashboard on the inside of my car is about 50% covered with cracks.

Dashboard developed a crack that quickly grew very large directly above the passenger side seat, airbag area on the dash. This is causing the airbag warning light to illuminate at times while driving.in the event of a crash??big, cause for concern.acura contends this is not an issue or cause for concern that this equipment in this expensive vehicle is failing.they are still trying to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to this situation, refusing to repair or acknowledge.

I have an acura tl 2005 and the dash is cracking right at the air bag on the passengers side.

My dash is cracking. I take care of my dash, keep it clean, garaged, etc.all of a sudden there are two long cracks in the middle of the dash and right above the instrument cluster on the dash.i checked around and it appears i am not the only one that has had this problem.the car is only 5 years old, and is considered a "luxury sport car."the reasons i am concerned is because airbags are located underneath the dash, could they one day deploy while driving?or not deploy at all when involved in an accident?also, this really devalues the car, and the approximate cost of repair is around $1700.

My 2005 acura has developed 2 very severe cracks in the dashboard surrounding the airbag on the passenger side of the vehicle.i am not sure how this will affect the performance in the event of an accident.

Multiple cracks in dashboard. Started small in length on driver side and have now extended to the front of the dash board and length wise between the cracks.cracks have now appeared on passenger side of dash and run the entire width of the dash over the passenger side air bag.not only cosmetically ugly but suspect it ispossiblya safety issue with air bags.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard had a deep crack over the passenger side air bags. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 127,000.

Vehicle presented cracks around instrument cluster and later on also all around passenger airbag. Few months later, vehicle started showing continuously the airbag red warning light once motorist's seat belt is buckled. Unsure if airbags work with warning light on.

Noticed cracks on dashboard.car always garaged-parked.original owner.recently found online posts by many other acura tl owners of same problem.

Dashboard on my 2005 acura has cracked in three places, one right over the passenger airbag, i have complained to acura, but this happened after the warranty ended.

Dashboardhas started cracking all over really bad. Some cracks are very big. Seems like the air bag could come out any time. It's manufacturing defect. Need to be fixed asap.

Cracked dashboard in several areas, including immediately over the location of the airbag.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that there was a crack on the dashboard above the passenger's side air bag area. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000 the vin was unavailable.

The dash on my 2005 acura tl started cracking very severely-i currently have 4 sizeable cracks.i have never seen this on a car prior in my 25 years of owning them.i fear for my safety as i wonder how these cracks impact my air bags.

I have a 2005 acura tl and yesterday i noticed a crack in the dashboard on the passenger side.i googled it and discovered several people having the same issue.someone posted a link to this site so here i am.can we get this recalled please?it's not very attractive. For the price i paid for this car i shouldn't have to worry about this happening.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked entirely.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that there were no recalls for the failure. The dealer also advised that they would not notify the manufacturer to get a good will favor to repair the failure. The manufacturer was notified by the contact who advised that the dashboard was not a defect and that the repairs would be at the owners expense. The failure mileage was 97,000.

Dashboard is cracked in two places. One crack is right above the airbag. Not sure if it could cause the airbag to deploy? i have read that this is a problem with a lot of acuras.

Multiple cracks large and small suddenly appeared in the dashboard. The affected parts section would not allow me to enter dashboard as the issue, therefore i put body.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked on the passenger side. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked. The contact was concerned that the air bags may not deploy in the event of a crash or that the air bags may inadvertently deploy without the vehicle being involved in a crash. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the manufacturer nor a dealer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 206,786.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While parked the contact noticed a large fracture on the dashboard which started near the windshield and went through the air bag compartment, down to the glove compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic. The technician stated that the dashboard would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The dash board in my vehicle began to crack over the passenger side air bag and it has me concerned that the air bag may not deploy towards the passenger and may deploy upwards toward the windshield instead and not protect the passenger. This is a known problem with these model cars and acura refuses to fix this defect. Does someone have to lose their life due to this defect before acura acknowledges there is a defect and a problem?

Cracked dashboard. I went to the dealer for a repair and they told me they can't repair it cause it's dangerous to repaired it because the airbag might explode. So what can i do? they want to charge me 2000 dollar.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that there were two cracks on the dashboard near the passenger and driver's side air bag housing. In addition, a four inch crack was in the center of the dashboard. The air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently whenever the contact was driving.the vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.

I have a 2005 acuratl in good condition. Last year, a long crack appeared on my passenger side dashboard. A week later a second long crack appeared parallel to the first crack. Lastly, about a month ago a third crack appeared making a horizontal line between the first and second crack. It is very noticeable. A security guard once asked me, what model was my car. He replied, that it is a defect with the 2005 acura tl's. His and his friend's car did the same thing, he said. I began to research online. I found many forums and blogs of people complaining of this same issue. I contacted acura and of course they claim no liability because of the car's age or mileage. I have read that thisa safety issue with the passenger side airbag....updated 09/28/15 updated 12/11/2017

Air bag light came on and air bag wasdefected and i had to pay for it . My dashboard crackedcnd my dash light s don't work they sometime come on and go off

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked near the air bag area. The contact was concerned of possible erroneous air bag deployment.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 74,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact was driving 65 mph when he noticed that the dashboard was cracked. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 18,000 and the current mileage was 19,000.

The dash has developed a crack on the passenger side right over the area where the front passenger side airbag is located. This could possibly create a problem in the proper deployment of that air bag. Apparently, this is a common problem with this generation (3rd- '04 to '08) acura tl. There are many similar complaints by owners posted online going back many years now about this very problem, yet acura/honda has apparently never addressed it. They apparently seem content to consider it a cosmetic problem only as several posters/owners have mentioned, rather than addressing the potential safety issue regarding proper airbag deployment. From the numerous reports of other owners found online, it would seem logical to presume that this is a result from a manufacturers defect or design flaw that acura seems to want to ignore.

Dash board starting to crack, afraid if cracks would make passenger airbag explode. Car has less than 50,000 and garaged.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While parked, the contact noticed large cracks along the passenger's side dashboard where the air bag was located. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.

Dash is cracking on passenger side.

Power steering problem. Inside permanent problem.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked between the driver and passenger sides. The contact also stated that the dashboard region surrounding the front passenger air bag was severely cracked. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the failure occurred due to heat exposure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. The contact noticed that the dashboard had two cracks in it. One of the cracks were abovethe air bag and the other was above the steering column. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Consumer's dad purchased a 2005 acura tl that have faulty tires and other problems.*njwithin two weeks of purchasing the vehicle, the consumers dad had to return to the dealer, because the door seal needed to replaced and the battery died. The consumer was also left stranded when one of the tires disintegrated. The consumer picked the vehicle up from her dad and while driving, another tire failed.

Hit a curb going 20-30 mph (not full-on, though).blew tire and cause slight alignment issue, as expected. However, next day noticed three large dents next to my sunroof.took it to dealer and discovered the roof flexed when i hit the curb and the entire roof panel has to be replaced.for hitting a curb?what would have happened to me if i had actually hit something more substantial?no way should a consumer incur a $5000+ repair bill for clipping a curb or hitting a pothole. Found other acura owners complaining on blogs about the same thing.costly for a minor accident.

I went to go at a stop light i got to about 15 mph and my car jus lost all power and didn't restart. When i tried to turn the key on and off again no power as well as everytime i put the key in the ignition it makes this weird buzzing noise when i try to turn it over.

2005 acura tl front suspensions have a design defect which promotes failure to support lower control arms and leads to loss of steering. First - the compliance bushing for the lower control arm fails allowing the steel control arm to contact the aluminum sub frame extension. The soft sub frame material is worn out from contact with the hard lower control arm material. Eventually, the extension from the sub frame loses its ability to support forces from the lower control arm and fails. I was fortunate to avoid a catastrophic event when this issue was identified during an annual state inspection and lead to replacement of the sub frame and compliance bushings. Failure of the compliance bushing is not obvious to the driver to promote repair actions; as there are no audible or driving signals to indicate this has occurred. Failure of the compliance bushing and subsequent failure of the aluminum sub frame will lead to loss of steering.my car was stationary and on a lift when the issue was observed.

Failuer of the front aluminum frame was observed on my car during a state inspection by an observant technician. The compliance bushing in the front strut assembly fails without giving the driver an audible or driving signal. This creates metal on metal contact between the strut and aluminum frame - wearnig thru the aluminum frame arm extension which supports the metal rod to the wheel. The aluminum frame will eventally fail causing loss of vehicle control. This would be life threatening at highways speeds. I had to have the entire front frame assembly replaced to mitigate this risk.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While driving 5 mph, the lower ball joint on the driver's side loosened and caused the front suspension to fall off. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 11e022000 (suspension). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,968.

Vehicle has constant shimmy in steering wheel.acura refuses to fix car under warranty saying it is a characteristic.after having the car inspected by a honda dealer the car is found to have a bad axel.the repair order and information was faxed to the product mediator at american honda who contacted the district parts manager who says that he refuses to fix the car because its a characteristic.the car was inspected by a trained acura mechanic at the honda dealer.acura refuses to fix the car which could result in a crash.

The rear tires on a 2005 acura tl lost all thir tread with only 8000 mile on the odometer. The tires supplied by the vehicle manufacturer were bridgestone turanza el42 p235 45 r17 with a tread wear rating of 260. The tires were rotated by the acura dealer at 4000 miles and no unusual ware was reported. This totally unexpected rapid wear resulted in the vehicle becoming unstable on wet pavement. This could have resulted in loss of control. The extreme tire wear problem was found when investigating the vehicle stability problem. These tires are either totally unsuitable for this vehicle and should have never been provided by the manufacturer or the rear suspension of the vehicle was not properly designed for the vehicle. All acura tl cars with these tires should be recalled and the tires replaced. It should be noted that recent vehicles are being shipped with michelin pilot hx mxm4 tires so the manufacturer appears to be aware of the problem.

I have a major safety concern with my 2005 acura tl. In april, 2010, the acura dealer replaced broken compliance bushings during a routine service (82,000 miles). After the service, i immediately noticed my car felt unsafe to drive and had a very rough ride. After numerous dealer visits, they replaced the rear strut assembly. None of this improved the handling or ride. At this time, the dealer stated i had the wrong tires and needed to replace them with original equipment michelin pilot mxm4 tires. I had nearly new michelin pilot sport a/s plus tires and not experienced a problem prior to the replacement of the bushings. I checked at costco, where i purchased the tires, and they indicated that michelin pilot sport plus tires were an acceptable upgrade for my vehicle. The owners manual does not mention that the acura suspension requires tires only purchased at the dealer.on nov. 8, 2010, during a routine service visit, the dealer noted fingernail size chunks of rubber pealing off my 2 front tires. They recommended i immediately change them since they were unsafe. Costco agreed to prorate and replace them with the dealer recommended tire. I notified the dealer of the purchase and then was told that michelin made special tires only available at the acura dealer. Until today, the dealer never stated that michelin pilot mxm4 tires manufactured especially for acura were the only tires that would work with the acura suspension. I have several problems with this. Nowhere does it say you must buy replacement tires from the dealer to have a safe car. Acura should not sell a car that can be safely driven with tires only purchased from them. I am very concerned that had i not taken the car in for service, i may have had a major tire failure causing serious injury or death.i am requesting that the ntsb investigate this issue and determine if other acura drivers are at risk due to the purchase of tires from anyone other than the acura dealer. Updated 01/20/11

The dash came with a crack on the dash on the passenger side and in front of thecenter speaker. I seen this happened to other tl the dash starts cracking from 5 to 6 year of manufacture. The the material used in the making is not resistant due to its design.

A year ago my dashboard began to crack for no apparent reason, last week my airbag light went on and stays on. Research show that a large number of people have the same problem.

Car is leaking oil gradually. Puddle in amber brown color on the garage floor

Dashboard is cracked in two places. One crack is right above the airbag. Not sure if it could cause the airbag to deploy? i have read that this is a problem with a lot of acuras.

Dashboard cracking.

2005 acura tl well maintained, always garaged. Nov 10, 2016 started noticing cracks on dashboard. 2 big ones on passenger side over where air bag supposed to be. Counted at least 6 different cracks over the entire dashboard, in various spots. This should not happen for a premium car maker such as acura but no recall or assistance $$ to fix issue.

Large cracks have developed throughout the material used in the interior of the vehicle including all of the dashboard. I am concerned that this will prevent the airbag from properly deploying.

The rear view mirror in my acura tl 2005 suddenly became hazy and started leaking a black / dark green fluid which produced a chemical taste in my mouth an a slight sore throat. I'm concerned the dripping liquid is toxic and harmful to passengers in addition to the loss of visibility. This does not fall in the category of a wear out item and it should not harm individuals in the process. My car was stationary when i noticed the initial liquid at the bottom of my mirror.

Several cracks in my dashon the drivers side and passenger side. I am concerned about my airbags ejecting prematurely and causing an injury to me or my passenger.

Multiple cracks in dashboard. Started small in length on passenger side of dash but now have extened and taken over the entire dashboard area.also, the airbag light, both main and passenger, turn on and off intermittently.

Passenger dash cracked around edge of airbag.concerned that acura is not handling as a recall. They have replaced some dashes, but others they say the dash is a thinner material therefore it may crack. I believe this manufacturer defect is compromising safety as it relates to my passengers in the vehicle.

Cracking dashboard

My acura 2005 tl has several cracks throughout the dashboard. I have filed previously, this filing is another concern that can be added to the ones i just submitted regarding the cracked dashboard - will the damaged dashboard break apart easily and cause injury during a minor accident? this concern is additional to the airbag concerns i articulated in my previous submission.

The dashboard is cracked, i called acura client relations reference # 04258828 and they told me the vehicle has exceeded warranty coverage, repair costs are relinquished to the owner. I purchased the vehicle brand new in 2005 and nowthe mileage is 103000.00 now.the dashboard crack still continue and will get worse later on. I don't think this should happened to the name brand car acura !i did a research on internet and found out so many people had a same problem.and why is no recall ? this is to protect vehicle owners safety to safe life if the crack continue on and it will effecting the dashboard airbag !i never seen this before and very disappointed with acura.i don't know when this happened , i just noticed last month. Oct 2015?please helpthanks,

Cracking dash board.doubtful that there isn't a takata airbag at the root of it that acura is not including with the other years of that recall.suspect dangers if bag gets deployed as dash would fragment out in expulsion.

The dashboard isdeveloping large cracks all around the right front passenger airbag.the cracks continue to spread and have caused significant damage to the dashboard leading to major concernfor the safety ofthe driver and front seat passenger as to whether thedefect has compromised theairbag deployment.

The dash came with a crack on the dash on the passenger side and in front of the center speaker. I have seen this happened to other tl's where the dash starts cracking from 5 to 6 year of manufacture. The material used in the making is not resistant due to its design.

Dashboard cracked over the passenger side airbag

Purchased a 2005 acura tl in 2008 from an acuar dealership.one year later the dashboard is cracking on the driver's side and on the passenger side near around the air bag. The crakcs started about about 3 inches long and are now a week later about a 12 inches long.

Dashboard cracked in several spots. I have read that many complaints has been filed on this particular year, make, and model of car and nothing has been done to resolve this issue.

My dash board crack with not reason right in the medium

The dashboard of my 2005 acura tl has developed four major cracks.two of them are over the passenger airbag compartment.the passenger airbag warning light appears whenever someone sits in the passenger seat.the acura dealer refuses to correct the problem unless i pay the full repair cost.i have been the sole owner of this vehicle.it has never been in an accident.

The dashboard developed 2 long cracks immediately on passenger side over airbag without any sign of them appearing over time.car has been garage kept and well maintained/clean and all leather/dash/panels routinely moisturized. Car has never been wrecked.google 2005 acura tl dashboard and you get numerous complaints about this occurring just over the last 6 months for the same make/model.not sure if this will affect the airbag deployment or will just be an eyesore.replacement parts cost approx. $730, not including labor.contacted acura but they refuse to replace the dash at their own cost due to vehicle being out of warranty.this needs to be investigated to ensure passengers will be safe and airbag will deploy properly if in an accident.

Hands free link problempearsedicitic drawl battery completely drained after 3 days of not starting also no display hvac defroster on hi speed unable to control. There is no radio function/display as well.

The dashboard is cracking.cracks on the drivers side go from front of the dash near windshield to back near the steering wheel.the car has been garaged and not abused.i am concerned that it may start to crack near the airbag on the passenger side and cause problems.

The dashboard crack and with no reason and still cracking

Cracked dashboard on acura tl 2005.the whole panel is cracking, i believe it may deploy the airbag system causing an injury or an accident.

The dashboard in my 2005 acura tl has suddenly begun developing bad cracks. The most concerning crack is on the passenger side leading from the front window toward the passenger compartment. The crack is forming around the outline of the passenger airbag. I am concerned this is a safety issue. Will the airbag deploy properly when needed or will it deploy prematurely? the cracks are unsightly and seem unlikely with the age of the vehicle. But the most significant concern is the safety of the crack around the airbag on the passenger side.

Car pulling to left, then right right from the date of purchase to present - 2005 acura tl.actions taken by dealership to correct the problem include: 3 wheel alignments. Multiple tire rotations, replacement of all tires, and road pressure balancing of all tires.problem still exists - dealer unable to correct.

I went to go at a stop light i got to about 15 mph and my car jus lost all power and didn't restart. When i tried to turn the key on and off again no power as well as everytime i put the key in the ignition it makes this weird buzzing noise when i try to turn it over.

The passenger dashboard has huge cracks that extend to where the airbag is located. I have always taken good care of my car and it actually looks new but these cracks are manufacture defects. The cracks are more than 10" long.

Both front seats and the dashboard are extremely full of cracks for a vehicle with such low mileage and always well taken care of.

Accelerator position sensor (ap sensor) suffered a sudden and catastrophic failure as i was merging onto a highway. This caused the car to lose all propulsion, as the engine failed to accelerate and immediately went to idle. It could have caused me to have an accident and/or get rear ended, as i was trying to merge into rapidly moving traffic on the highway. My engine check light and vehicle stability assist warning lights came on immediately, and the transmission bucked as it tried to ascertain what gear it was supposed to be in. Fortunately, there was enough room to coast off the road. There was no prior warning whatsoever that anything was wrong. The vehicle was purchased new and dealer maintained.

The contact owns a 2005 acura tl. While driving the vehicle at any speed the contact noticed that the vehicle would suddenly stop accelerating without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the contact was informed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 101000 and the failure mileage was 161000.

The seat belt did indeed save me from more serious injury than i did received.

>on thursday 07/04/13 my transmission gave in.
