My vehicle has a recall for the srs airbag system i just found out about on this website. I called acura and they told me that the srs airbag system cannot be replaced because due to the age of the vehicle all parts are discontinued. This is a safety issue because now the srs dashboard light is on which means that the airbag system is offline and will not engage if there is a front end collision. How do i get this recall repairs completed. This is a huge safety problem and i'm concerned that i or possibly a passenger in my car may sustain unnecessary injuries if the airbag system does not engage in an accident. Please advise how to get this issue repaired or replaced. Acura of concord ca #251621 informedin a telephone call that they do not intend to repair the driver frontal airbag module within 60 days of my april 10 2020 request for a service appointment.the safety of the driver is in jeaporday

My car needs the nhtsa recall 20v-026, drivers airbag inflator replacement. As of today, march 23, 2020, parts are not available to correct this safety defect. The recall notice from acura states "the airbag inflator could also rupture during deployment, with metal fragments possibly striking the driver or passengers, increasing the risk of serious injury or death." i am afraid to drive this vehicle based on this possibility. I contacted american honda consumer affairs (case # 10324034) and requested alternate transportation to be provided at acura's expense until the parts are available. My request was refused. I am asking nhtsa to intervene and escalate my request for alternate transportation.

I have a 1999 acura 3.2tl. Recently the electrical system suddenly shutdown entirely while driving local street, and smoke came out of the steering column, around ignition area. Upon further research, there was a recall back in 2002 for the ignition switch that exactly matched this dangerous symptom. Apparently the switch even after the recall fix, will still fail within 6-7 years.this horrifying experience was compounded by the fact that dealership refuse to take a look at the vehicle, stating that the recall ended when vehicle has above 80,000 miles on them.

While driving numerous times engine shuts down. I took notice that there were no common issues related to speed, weather outside, time of year. This has happened too many times to list. There was a recall on this car that was performed but it still happens with the new ignition switch. I know that i have to replace the ignition switch.

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. When the gear shifter was in the drive position, the key fell out of the ignition. The vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 05v025000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 120,450.

Engine shuts off while driving at about 65 mph causing the car to lose speed, hard to steer and hard to brake. I heard that there was a recall about this cars (acura).with the same (switch) problem. Why my car is not included ??

My ignition switch has been recalled and the acura website says it has been repaired.it has failed again.my transmission was suppose to have been repair a year ago.i left the car at the dealer and they told me it was fixed.i went out to the car and the transmission lockout still was not fixed.then they told me they would have to something different.the car had not left the dealers lot and was not fixed at that time.

I was driving my 1999 acura tl on the freeway at a speed of 65 mph when the ignition shut off and the car quickly lost speed in heavy traffic. I was in the right lane and i managed to coast off the freeway but i had no power steering and i hit a concrete barrier before coming to a stop.after repeatedly attempting to restart the car over a period of five minutes the ignition turned on again and i was able to drive the car home. A quick investigation of product recalls for this particular make and model revealed that there was an official notice of recall for the electronic ignition switch issued by honda of america for this car but i was never informed of it and inquiries to an acura dealer in santa monica, ca only resulted in denials that my car had this problem.

I have a 1999 acura tl and the engine stops while i am driving on the freeway, this has happened for 5 days and each time after i pull over and re-start the engine it will run fine, according to honda and acura there was a recall for the ignition switch, but when iwent in to the dealer they say it is not covered by the recall. And i had to pay $280.00. They say the cost for the part is $75.00 and the labor is $210!!!

While driving, the car completely turned off electrically.i was required to pull off the road without any power assist to the brakes or steering.my mechanic indicated that there was an old recall of this part and after checking with acura they stated it had been replaced previous to my ownership.while the dealership first stated that it was covered when they replaced the part they said it was not covered again under the recall by acura. When i called the company to inquire about this at first the representative stated that it was covered and then someone else said it was not covered.even though they agreed to replace this part free of charge the dealership was quite pushy that they were 'right' about it not being 'covered'.my complaint is that this was a very serious incident, and i believe that the part for what ever reason should be replaced w/o cost to any consumer.

While traveling on highway at 60 mph, the automobile will randomly loose all electricity, ignition, and power items - brakes - steering - and engine stalls out completely, after a few seconds to a few minutes, the car can be re-started and driven again. Symptoms point to the ignition switch recall which was performed on this car a few years ago. Acura is aware of the problem and has issued a tsb / safety recall for this problem but they only replace the part once with the exact same part that will fail eventually just as the first one did.local dealer ( first acura of seekonk, ma.)and the regional customer service department is claiming that i am responsible for all costs to resolve this serious known defect in acuras design of this component. Is there anything that i can do other than knuckling down and paying for this repair out of my pocket?

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. The contact stated that while driving highway speeds, the vehicle stalled numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the ignition switch was melted. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign number 02v120000 (electrical system) however, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.the vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 92,066 and the current mileage was 115,000.

Cars stallson the road. Jiggle the ignition keys may restart. Acura (honda) had recall on ignition switch failures, i had recall done about 4 years ago. Same problem. It appears recall parts failure.

On december 28, 2010, my 1999 acura 3.2tl engine shut off while i was driving without any dashboard warning lights.i pulled over to the side and tried turning the engine back on.it turned on and drove for about 2 minutes but shut off again.this repeated 6 ~7 times until i barely reached home.i checked my recall notices and have a record of changing my ignition switch under recall back in february 21, 2003.i searched online and many people were having the same problem of replacing the ignition switch more than once.i purchased the part and replaced it myself in my garage.afterwards, the problem was gone and my engine never shut off since than.i called acura and informed them of my incident and sincerely asked them to seriously look into this matter.i had told them if the part failed again, they need to check/rebuild the part and conduct a fresh recall.this is a dangerous & serious problem.a vehicle suddenly & silently shuts down and loses power instantly without any warning.

My car shuts off while driving. It puts my children and myself at risk. It has happened numerous times.

Hi,i would like to officially file a complain against acura. I have 1999 acura 3.2tl, the engine shuts off while driving on highway or even on idle. It's a intermittent issue and i noticed that it can happy anywhere or anytime which can result in fatal accident. I did some research on web and found out that lots of people have same or similar problem in acura and honda and point to recall faulty ignition switch. According to my dealer david mcdavid of austin is already been replaced in my car. They're clueless why i'm having this issue and offer no help to diagnose and fix the issue. I asked them to replaced the ignition switch again for no cost to me but they refused to do it.i need help for nhtsa to investigate this issue which may result in life threatening situation and let me know what else i need to do resolve this issue with acura. Thanks in advance for your help and timeyesterday evening, while i was going home from work, the car shut off and i see a smoke came out from dash board. I was able to pull the car to right lane and able to start the car after few tries.

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. While driving approximately 50 mph, the engine stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was previously repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 02v120000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 220,000.

This vehicle was bought used from a local dealer 9/11/2013 and about 2 months ago she started experiencing problems with it stalling on her with no warning what so ever, we tried restarting the vehicle and it would start for a very short time then shut off again almost immediately. Tried starting it a couple times till it finally started then we would put it in drive and move again, traveled about 6 blocks down the road and it stalled again!! did the same thing over till we got it where we needed it and left it parked overnight. Asked a few friends and they tell me the possibilities of what could be wrong and i was told that if we take it to a garage and they test drive it and if it doesn't happen while they are test driving it then they won't have any idea of what's going on...for real!!! i'm very upset and not sure what i can do. Plus i also some recall notices for this car and i'm wondering if these problems were ever fixed, what can be done and how do i go about finding out if these recalls were even taken care of? i'm very concerned about the safety of my daughter driving the car at all till it's fixed! thanks

On 3/15/14 my 1999 acura tl stalled/engine shut of completely without any warning while driving on the highway at 65 mph.2nd time it happened, i was driving 40 mph on 3/22/14 & 3rd time it happened i was driving 10 mph on 3/27/14.each time it happened the engine shut off completely but, the radio and warning light in the dash flashed on and off.i was able to coast to a stop without power steering.after 3-4 attemps to restart the car, i was able to drive off without incident. It happens so random and without warning that i am terrified to drive this car.the car has had a recall of the ignition switch performed in 2003 by the acura dealer.on 3/24/14 i took the car to the dealer and they have trouble diagnosing the problem.they kept the car for 4 days.they replaced the main fuel relay, performed an engine diagnostic check, performed a recall on the ignition interlock and road tested the car. I picked up the car on 3/27/14 and it stalled later that day as i was driving away from my home.i took the car back to the dealer on 3/28/14 and they still have the car.i want the ntsa to investigate this engine stall issue with the 1999 acura tl.i called acura client relations to report the problem on 3/26/14.i asked them to seriously look into this complaint. I believe ntsa should get involved to get acura to check/rebuild the faulty ignition switch and conduct a fresh recall.this is a dangerous & serious problem that is similar to the recent gm ignition switch recall.any vehicle that suddenly and silently shut down while driving instantly and without warning needs ntsa's immediate attention before injurys and deaths occur.i have lost all faith in acura to successfully repair this ignition switch/stalling issue and call upon ntsa to get involved to investigate this complaint to do what it is supposed to do..save lives and prevent injuty.

On july 23, 2011, my hand and elbow were permanently disabled, when my 1999 acura tl rolled backwards down the driveway and knocked me down. As i tried to stop it from rolling down the driveway but the car won. The car was in park and the brake was engaged, but it still rolled backwards. The car had been in for service at least three times previous to the accident in 04-20-11,05-16-11, and06-22-11. Each time, the car was taken to mungenast acura for service yet not once did they mention the recall of the interlocking switch to repair this problem. Their negligence in this matter directly contributed to this accident and my permanent disability. They just replaced the switch when the car began to turn over but stall out as i reported to them 3-13-14. Their disregard for my safety and honda's refusal to address my concerns aboutthis problem has been outlandish. Tiffany in honda client relations pretty much stated so what to bad we are not going to do anything and refused to allow me to speak to anyone above her. She told me to call the dealership this is not honda's problem. She placed a call to the dealership and no one called her back. I was told to contact the bbb, nhtsa and anyone else that i wanted to contact. She was not going to do anything.i asked her to put her position in writing to me. I have not received any correspondence. I want restitution for the negligence of both of these parties. Letters will go out to all reporting agencies.updated 04/21/14*ljupdated 07/24/14

Driving normally on city street when suddenly engine died & all electrical on console turned off. Car was diagnosed with faulty ignition switch. There had been a recall for this part. I've confirmed that my car was serviced by dealer under that recall & the ignition switch had been replaced some time ago; the replaced part failed. Incident placed my family in seriously dangerous situation--in middle of road/traffic without power or instruments & barely able to steer.

The driver of this car has owned the car for 1 year. The driver exited his car at a gas station after turning the car off, removing his keys from the ignition and locking his vehicle. He came back out of the convenience store to find that his vehicle had rolled backwards down a slight grade to collide with another car, causing a lot of damage to the rear end of the driver's car (est. $3,000).he found upon inspection that the car had not been removed from drive, but yet the car allowed him to remove his keys from the ignition.upon researching later, he found that his car had been subject to a recall for this very reason in 2004.he is not aware if the previous owner had complied with the voluntary recall.honda made no effort to inform the new owner of the recall or if it had been fixed, but took the time and effort to offer him an extended warranty when he purchased the car.he'd like to know if the vehicle's been fixed or not, and if a replacement part had been installed.

Hello mr. Or mrs., i brought 1999 acura 3.2 tl in 2005 (about 38,000 miles) from 78 years old man.he take very good care of it so do i.my car now it had about 65,350 miles on it.the problems is that early this month (august) i took my car for a ride then suddenly the "engine stop" on busy street ford road, canton, mi 48187 after 4:35 p.m. (rush hour/ traffic).i'm so nervous, shocked.... And lucky that there was no accident.yes, 2 police cars came and helped me push off the road before the "tow truck" came tow my car home.last week my friend and i when for a ride after we tune up my 1999 acura.the engine stopped again.the battery is almost brand new, spark plug is new, every thing is good except it got to be "ignition switch".this week i did a research on "internet", i did find out "recall" ignition switch for 1999 acura 3.2 tl but the previous owner get it fixed in 2002.i did called acura 1-800-382-2238 mention about recall "ignition switch".i asked her if i taking my 1999 acura dealer to get it fix (ignition switch), can i get "reimbursement" or money back, she told me know because it's due to wore and tear during 4 or 7 years period.what do you think about that?can you please help me about my situations because i do not want any one get hurt (accident) on the road.i did called acura dealer at farmington hills, mi, i spoke to services technician about "ignition switch", he told me that it will cost me at least $289.00 or maybe $600.00 depend problem with "ignition switch or ignition interlock".hopefully, i do not have to pay out of my pocket.thank you for your time.

I own a 99 acura tl 3.2 which turned off while i was driving 35mph three weeks ago. I then had the car in the shop to be looked at, and they replaced my cables. Then last week i was driving 40mph and the car turned off while i was driving it again! i luckily had been in a local area both times and managed to turn the car to the shoulder of the road successfully. I am scared to drive this car ever again.

I have called honda several times on my 1999 acura tl,about the car cutting out while driving if they could tell me any information, they would tell me nothing but bring in to a dealer. After further checking on my part i find out about recall honda told me this car was fixed well guess what for two years it has been cutting out while driving we all learned how to drive the car but its not safe,it will cut out at any time than not to it for a month or do it ten times in one day. After further searching online some mechanics have said that under the original recall they replaced switch with same defective parts they had a over stock of,instead of a part replacement i keep a fire extinguisher in the car just in case.

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. While the vehicle was in gear and the brake pedal was depressed, the key independently fell out of the ignition and the vehicle stalled. I have a 1999 acura 3.2 tl - there was an ignition interlock safety recall and it was checked by the dealer 07/17/06 - the total fee was $50.15 and covered by factory warranty, for a half hour repair and part for for $1.15.since then, we had noted instances of the car stalling while driving, someitmes on the highway. The dealer refused to cover under the pre-existing condition / recall - they did report thatthe electrical part of the ignition switch was bad.i noted others reporting this same problem on the internet with this model. Now the charge was $303.84 i have a relative with the same car and year and he had the same issue too. This is related to the initial recall and should be covered - it also could be very dangerous stalling out at high speed.

Vehicle was cutting off without any warning while driving.the car would start back up after several tries.

While stopped, with foot on the brake pedal, i was waiting for my garage door to open. The garage door started to open and it was about half way up when my car suddenly accelerated. Thinking i would hit the garage door and have my head torn off i ducked towards the passenger seat as best i could. The car did hit the garage door a glancing blow off the windshield and the roof.the car continued to accelerate until it hit the rear wall of the garage. The air bags deployed and the car halted. Severe damage to the car, most likely to be totaled. Severe damage to my home. The car is a 1999 acura 3.2tl. I suffered injury to my left wrist and left knee.

My 1999 acura tl stalls on me on the road, this has happened several times, approximately 4 times in the past 3 months. This occurred while driving, meaning my car stalled while i was in traffic. Sent my customer's acura to dealer last month for quitting problem, they did a transmission repair. Looked at car here again and found a bad ignition switch causing problem. Ignition switch appears to be covered by a recall, called dealer to verify. Not only did customer not get letter but even when vehicle is at dealer for repair recalls do not get done. Yes my 1999 acura 3.2 tl has the tcs light staying on in the vehicle i went and had it plugged into a code checker and the read out was that the wheel speed sensor was bad but before that i was driving down the road( this is just one of 5 experiences i know of) when my car just died and it didn't want to crank back. It had never happened to me before i then began reading the owners manual and had to manually reset the cars computer ( i guess is what it is called) by pushing the shift lock in manually and pulling the car down into neutral and waiting about 5-15 seconds and placing it back up into park if the d4 indicator did not light up i then had to pull it back down into neutral while pressing the shift lock switch and then place it into d4 and back up into park most of the time it would reset its self and i could crank it in neutral but sometimes it would take me 2-3 minutes and now it seems to be getting longer and longer before it will reset itself this last time it took me approximately 10-15 minutes to reset the switch to were i could turn the ignition and the car would turn over and crank. The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled and the engine stopped. The brake warning indicator illuminated. Engine shuts off while driving at about 65 mph causing the car to lose speed, hard to steer and hard to brake. I heard that there was a recall about this cars (acura).with the same (switch) problem. Why my car is not included ??

I was driving at approx. 45 mph when i felt my car die, all my gauges went down and i lost power steering. Luckily i was close to an intersection and pulled to the side of the road. I put the car in park and it started again. Then on the way home, it did the same thing in the middle of a busy road. The car died and i pulled over and tried to start it several times. It finally started and now i am scared to drive it! i looked on the acura forums-http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=719910acura had a recall for the ignition switch. However, they only replace it once and unfortunately it appears that several people have had to replace their ignition switches several times. Acura only pays for the 1st replacement. That's an outrage! this is dangerous. I had my kids in the car and these [xxx] car manufacturers need to step up and fix their liabilities and get it right. They have a responsibility tomake their product safe and care for the lives of the people that have purchased their vehicles. Out of the whole month of dec until now,i am driving down the road, and my car just cuts off, no warning at all, i have almost been in 2 accidents due to this as i have a small child, i am concerned about this..also my check engine n emissions light has been on since acura fixed my transmission back in 2005 why did they not check the recalls for this? i had no clue about the recalls as i was the new owner of what i thought was a 'safe" car for my child!never again will i purchase one of these. I am a single mother who needs this completed not my fault this car had recalls...

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl.while driving less than 50 mph, the vehicle stalled.the failure occurred on more than four occasions.the contact took the vehicle to a repair shop and the mechanic stated that there was a recall on her vehicle.she then took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the recall repair had previously been performed; therefore, they would not take responsibility for a second repair.the repair would cost approximately $251.the nhtsa campaign id number was unknown.the failure and current mileages were less than 164,000.

I was about to come to a complete stop at a stop sign in the parking lot (about 6 feet from stop sign) and the car shut off completely. I was going about 10 miles/hr. I started the car - no response; it was dead. Turned on 4 way hazard lights and tried to start it agin - still nothing. Made a phone call to a friend. After about 5 minutes, started the car again and this time it started. How scary!!

Car engine stalls while driving. This problem was addressed with a recallin 2004 which replaced the ignition switch. The car is a 1999 acura 3.2tl. I called honda recently and was informed that the repair was a one-time fix only. My question is whether the switch was in fact replaced and if it was replaced why is it failing? conversations with auto mechanics indicate the switch should never fail if the design is sound. Since june 22, 2009, the engine has stalled a number of times. I only recently determined that the cause of the stalling was the ignition switch problem.

The vehicle stalled, which resulted in a broke engine bolt and fragments jammed the cams, which caused the timing belt to stop working.

While driving down the freeway at 80 mph engine shut off.then, after managing to pull tosideand checked under the hood, nothing seemed to be wrong. Then, after waiting about 3-4 minutes re-startedvehicle,and it started right up.then on 22 april, vehicledid the same identical thing.dealer could not find anything wrong withvehicle.

I have an acura tl 2003 vin [xxx].ever since i bought this car (new, purchased on nov 7, 1998) on several times its 'check engine' indicator light comes on and goes off without any repair or any change.acura had a recall on egr system clogging.but in my car this indicator light still comes on and then goes off without any indication of a problem.i took my car to service center they told me that catalytic converter was bad, before i could get it fixed the indicator light went off.but in few days "check engine" light came back again.this indicator light off-on cycle still going on, it goes off for weeks and comes back on for weeks.i can't seem to figure out this erratic behavior of such an important safety indicator. *lainformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have had two occasion now where the brake light switch has failed in my 1999 acura tl. This happens while driving leaving the car with no brake lights. To go along with this the right tail light goes out at least twice a year every year since i've owned the car which i believe is related. This is unsafe and very costly today's brake light switch repair is $231.01.

Hd headlights on 1999 acura 3.2 tl have been stolen twice within a 3 week period. Called dealer to inquire about maybe putting locks or something preventing this from happening again. I was told unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done.with the newer models they are not that easy to take out.i also called several alarm companies to inquire about motion sensor alarms and was told that even with that, if there is no impact to the car, the alarm won't go off, however, it will go off once the hood is touched but by that time, the headlights have been stolen already.

Plus i also some recall notices for this car and i'm wondering if these problems were ever fixed, what can be done and how do i go about finding out if these recalls were even taken care of? i'm very concerned about the safety of my daughter driving the car at all till it's fixed! thanks

Over a month ago, i noticed a sound whenever i would steer the vehicle. I checked the power steering fluid level and noted it was low. I added more fluid to the appropriate level and in a week or so, the sound returned. After repeating this process, i then noticed smoke coming from under the hood. After checking some online forums and visiting a service shop, i have learned that my power steering pressure hose has a leak that could potentially start a fire. The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. The contact stated that he took the vehicle in for a check up and was informed that the frame was corroded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The sub frame assy is rusted through on the passenger sidethis subframe supports the engineand trans axle assy. This is a defect the subframes are rusting on honda and acura cars... Same as hyundaisdidand those were all recalled. This is the same defectand needs a national recall for repairs asap before somebody gets killed.

Weak bearing installed by manufacturer fell apart, killed shift solenoids and transmission. No warranty replacement is $6000 with labor (20% of the cost of the car new).

Consumerwas traveling about 10mph and hit a curb several times while making a right turn.in the process, passenger's side tire blewout. This incident happened twice.*ml

1999 acura 3.2tl. Air control pressure causing accident *grthe consumer was involved in a rollover accident. The accident was caused by the sudden loss of air pressure in the right front tire. It happened in a lane of travel with no warning.the consumer had the tires put on the vehicle on march 31, 2008. The consumer stated the valve stems were defective and there was a silent recall and hewanted to know why the public was not informed of the recall. The consumer would like a response to his complaint. Updated 05/24/10the consumer believed the tire valve stems were defective on his vehicle, in which he lost control and consequently, a little boy that was in his vehicle died. Updated 07/30/14

1999 acura 3.2 consumer writes regarding safety issues with vehicle *tgw the consumer doesn't own the vehicle. The vehicle is for sale at a used car lot. The consumer stated the vehicle has several safety violations.

The odometer and trip odometer on this model of the acura is virtually impossible to read during daylight hours because of the nature of the display.there is a safety hazard to the extent that it is necessary to remove your eyes completely from the road and stick your face close to the odometer in order to read it.on a recent 2,000 mile trip, i wanted to check my trip odometer frequently.it was very difficult and dangerous to take try and read the display.sooner or later, someone will be distracted enough to have or cause an accident.i contacted the acura division of american honda motor co. But they state they have no intention of addressing the problem.the idiot who designed the instrument panel display obviously never drove the car in the daytime.while this is not likely to be a major safety problem in terms of possible fatalities, it is still a safety hazard.and, this level of poor design should not be tolerated.

Total cost is $2505.00 and it has failed again. No safety defect listed.*nlm**dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut over to artemis**762451

Design of the instrument panel prevents consumer to see the instrutment panel whilein the sun. Dealer/ manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that they do not see anything wrong, and nothing would be done at this time.

The alarm goes off randomly and cannot be turned off, the remote works randomly also, i am unable to unlock the doors or open the trunk for hours at a time.i have contacted acura several times with no avail. I want my cart to work.

Center cup holder design is poor.when braking quicker than usual, cups tip over and spill contents into the shift mechanism.contacted acura and was told that they will note it for the next major redesign.i almost got into deadly highway accidents because of this and most recently i ended driving into a curb and damaging my alluminum wheel (don't know if it is still safe to drive with it structure strength wise).durrinng a maintenance visit, i found out that acura changed the design for 2001 and never notifies its consumers. I told the dealer about my last incident who then proceeded and gave me the peice from the show room car which i then i adapted to my car.acura should fess up to the problem.iwas lucky not to have gotten into any accidents and only ended with alloy wheel damage (which i now have to pay to replace).

Design of the dashboard display is extremely difficult to read in daylight causing driver to remove eyes for extended period of time in order to see accurately. Mjs

While drivingengine light illuminated, indicating that catalyticconverter malfunctioned.dealer has been notified.

The vehicle jerk when you shift the gears would slip intermittently while in drive, reverse. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the transmission may go out,the tcc solenoid and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 164,000.

Identical to item odi id: 8003029.on march 05, 2002, i drove my car to several different places to take care of some errands.my last stop was at the seminole county circuit court in altamonte springs to apply for a passport.i parked my car in a parking spot.while i was moving the automatic transmission stick into the park position (with my foot on the brake pedal), my car suddenly accelerated, causing it to jump the curb in front of my car as seen in figure 1.i tried my best to control the car and not to hit other parked cars.luckily, i managed to avoid all of the parked cars except one.

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl. The contact stated that the vehicle abnormally accelerated as she attempted to park in her garage. The contact applied immense pressure to the brakes but was unable to control the vehicle. As a result, the contact crashed into a lawn mower, a compressor and then a wall. The vehicle was totaled. The contact sustained injuries to the hip area. The manufacturer was notified and a complaint was filed but no assistance was provided. The failure and current mileage was 67,000.the consumer stated with her foot on the brake pedal, she shifted into reverse, when suddenly there was a loud shrill noise, as the vehicle suddenly accelerated, knocking over a table and splintered the plexiglass. The vehicle continued to accelerate in reverse. The vehicle spun around and was headed toward a 350 foot steep driveway. She continued to brake and held onto to the steering wheel, while attempting to direct the vehicle to the left away from the steep driveway, when suddenly without changing gears, the vehicle proceeded to go forward and halted after plowing into the right door entrance and concrete base of the garage, which caused both air bags to deploy . Updated 02/28/13the accident happened on private property, therefore a police report was not filed. Updated 03/19/13

While driving 5 mph in parking garageaccelerator pedal suddenly went to floor, engine revved. Vehicle went about 10 yards, where it hitfirst vehicle, bounced off it, and ran into 3 parked vehicles. Damage to vehicle unknown at this time, driver of first vehicle had minor injuries.a police photographer stated there were strong indentations made by the tire on the concrete, air bag did not deploy in accident.

While at a complete stop, consumers foot was firmly on the brake and without any warning vehicle surgeed foward and collided with another vehicle, consumer also stated the air bags did not deploy.*yd

1999 acura tl accelerated on its own while executing a turn into a parking spot.my foot was not on the accelerator and it took hard braking to bring the car to a hard stop.the car sustained bumper scratches but was otherwise undamaged.the car parked in front of me, a large suv had no dents or other damage.no police report was filed.i am taking the car into the dealer for checking tomorrow.this happened once before, also while turning into a parking spot.i did not report it at that time, thinking i must have been distracted somehow.this time i was absolutely sure the engine acted on its own presumably under the control of the computer.

While depressing thebrakesvehicle surged forward suddenly and unexpectedly, colliding into another vehicle. Please provide more information.

There were no special events leading up to failure, the rear view mirror in my acura 99 tl started leaking fluid and no longer works as it should.the liquid could be hazardous and the mirrors no longer up to the same standard as when the vehicle was released.acura is unwilling to replace the mirror free of charge, in fact they are charging exorbitantly for it.magna donnelly the manufacturer of the mirror was replacing these to affected consumers but was instructed by acura/honda to stop - incredible they can do such a thing given their product stopped working and just want to charge more money to customers.

The fluid leaked out of the rearview mirror, apparently from a failed seal on the bottom of the mirror. The image in the mirror is now fuzzy and somewhat distorted. The mirror no longer has the night dimming function and instead headlights coming from behind are reflected brightly into the driver's eyes. I will need to have the mirror replaced.

1999 acura tl 50,000 miles.rearview mirror exploded liquid.noticed 5 days ago that the mirror was dark.4 days ago noticed a clear "bubble" in the dark liquid.i thought it was just condensation or moisture and it would go away.yesterday it exploded leaving black spattering on leather seats and center console, as well as on personal items.i got some in my mouth accidentally, and it left numbness and bad taste.researched online and apparently contains toxic chemicals?have coincidentally had headache/stomach pain all week but am reluctant to say "yes, definitely from this".scared of inhaling vapor.left pitted damage marks on plastic, destroyed sunglasses, will not come off leather.i am contacting acura dealer today, however online chat rooms seem to say acura and magna donnelly (mirror mfgr) not replacing?i want the msds on the mirror fluid!!!

The rearview mirror of 1999-2003 acura tl should be recall due to the fact that once it failed to work properly (which is my case at this time, 99 tl) it may explode at any time and could cause more problems leading from personal injury to deatly accidentif while on driving.it's already happen to some acura's owner recently.acura seems to ignore this problem and so the manufacture of review mirror.its dripping fluid is already damaged part of my property, that's a warning sign to me, my concern is more about its explosion which is next.thanks for reading my complaint.

Rearview mirror contains chemicals that have leaked out of its housing. This has caused the mirror to become distorted and difficult to see out of. The chemicals are a potential hazardous substance. I had to replace the mirror.

The contact owns a 1999 acura tl.while attempting to park the vehicle, the contact noticed that the top color of the rearview mirror changed to bright silver, and the lower portion changed to a darker silver.he also noticed that the mirror was leaking chemicals from the seams.the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer.the current and failure mileages were 95,000.

Leaks of graphite cause smearing and impossible vision--could cause serious accident--dealers know and are"awaiting redesign of wiper blade"
