The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. While driving approximately 30 mph on a snowy day, the vehicle slid across the intersection and crashed into a guardrail. The failure impacted the front driver side, but only the passenger side air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The front passenger sustained a minor injury that did not require medical attention. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but stated that the vehicle was in good shape. The failure mileage was 30,000.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v256000 (air bags). The notice stated to take the vehicle to acura of peoria (309-692-7800, 7500 north allen rd, peoria, il 61614), which was not a reasonable accommodation for the contact. The manufacturer was contacted regarding part availability and dealer location. The dealer was not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.consumer stated tailgate light gasket that may lead to tail light failure. We have two local honda dealerships but our caseworker said neither could do the recall work. Repair was done at peoira,il (nearest acura dealer).'parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

On 3/18/2019 i got in my car and the airbag like is on staating there is a problem.i call my extened warrenty and they said this is not covered. That sucks becuse what are you paying for.

Noticed bubbling paint on drivers side near back tire...emailed salesman with no response. Took car in for oil change, mentioned problem but paint had chipped off...took a picture to send to acura for their determination whether it was going to be repaired free of charge....asked again in septmeber...no answer yet...no phone call to date to let me know if covered or not. July 24 was driving when for no reason all warning lights came on with warning beep...called dealership. .. Was onmy way to the airport for vacation and scared to keep driving..was told just a fluke and it would probably re-set...in august.took car to dealership and warning lights came on enroute...still on when i arrived...again told it was just a flukehappened again while parked with engine running in late august but noticed it was also idling quite high for no reason...called dealership again right away...left a message with no return call..it again re-set itself....in september i was driving 35mph and all warning lights came on, lost power and steering...called dealership, they had me look at message center but it did not say any code....took to dealership..told them i had been reading on line that other owners had same issue with no results...he said acura was working on issue....nervous that it will happen while driving on expressway and i lose steering and power.....tired on hearing there is no code and no answer....very expensive car to have this type of issue with no fix...thank you

The included infotainment system, which is now predominantly controlled by a touchscreen, is incredibly slow, laggy, and dangerous to operate.there are multiple, ongoing failures with this system - every time i enter the vehicle.as honda/acura has removed or replaced primary-operation buttons (32 out of 41, by their count), the mandate to use the other operational system (touchscreen and jog-dial) has increased the risk of safety incidents, exacerbated by a slow user interface response and often-failing voice control system.my vehicle has been in the dealer once, and has been waiting for a software update for five months.new vehicles have an updated software load, but acura refuses to install it.acura client relations has refused to provide updates or a solution.

2014 acura mdx.consumer writes in regards to vehicle cuts off while driving and electrical system problems.the consumer stated the vehicle cut off three times. On one separate occasion, while driving, the multi-information display warning and information messages illuminated on the screen. The mid was rotating continuously through a series of problems, such as; engine oil low, emission system problem, 12 volt battery charging system problems, etc.when the dealer tried to the turn the steering wheel, while the vehicle was in idle, it cut off again. The dealer assured the consumer, he wouldn't have any more problems. However, one month later, the vehicle cut off again; twice.on june 16, 2014, the multi-information display warning and information messages illuminated on the screen again.

Defect shows as immediate loss of toe alignment in both front tires, lane keep assist computerized feature in unable to turn steering wheel right, and steering wheel position sensor is unable to remain fixed at zero.steering wheel position sensor: forces the vehicle into oncoming traffic by automatically during front wheels two and five degrees with maximum turning force applied when the road presents any combination of curved, tilted, and bumpy condition.steering wheel hand sensor ? computer applied over-steer forces the car left or right several degrees depending on hand position. Ids: three settings force steering wheel several degrees left or right during braking depending on last applied steering adjustment.when the road is a combination of curved, substantially sloped, or bumpy the computer will apply maximum computerized turning force to move steering wheel up to 45 degrees left into oncoming traffic even when the road slopes and/or curves away from oncoming traffic.a series of software command conflicts and overrides between ids, steering wheel position sensor, steering wheel sensor for hand position, radar, and road position sensor, and other-vehicle sensors routinely cause the computer to perform unintended drive into incoming traffic with maximum computer applied force.manufacturer refused to provide dealers computer diagnostic equipment that aligns steering wheel sensor with navigation computer, radar, internal/external sensors, ids, and steering wheel hand sensor unless the consumer is willing to pay $700 in equipment transfer costs. Manufacturer demands dealers deny service or avoid writing work orders that contain any indication of a problem with steering wheel sensor, radar, computer-integrated hardware, or ids.instead verbalize computer-related issues with repair techs to avoid regulatory reporting and california lemon law requirements.

Dash warning lights coming on : brake problems. Abs light problems, hill asst. Problem, lane departure warning, front collision warning, these system stop working when driving at various speeds! dealer can't find the problem!

The driver side head lights are brighter than the passenger side head lights. I get bright lighted all the time. It looks like my bright lights are on and their not. The from air conditioning / heat fan works off and on. The blower is acting up. The back heat fan ( blower) works all the time. I have to crack the front windows and fly down the highway to get the front fan to work.

Eps ! pop up as i try to start my car. Power n light is on as normal but won't start, steering wheel lock

This is the third incident of unintended engine revving with this vehicle. This third incident occurred at 5925 miles. Was pulling out of a parking space in "reverse" and came to a complete stop with my foot firmly on the brake pedal when, in an instant, the vehicle unexpectedly revved up while i was still holding the brake pedal firmly and shifting into drive. The vehicle jolted into drive.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated the back-up camera intermittently remained activated while driving. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, who was unable to provide a diagnosis. The dealer refereed the contact to the manufacturer, who offered to further investigate the failure and other alternatives. The vehicle was not repaired.the approximate failure mileage was 200.

I was driving on a residential street back home when a haze started coming out of the air conditioning vents. That turned into black smoke coming from the front passenger side, underneath/behind the glove compartment. From that smoke, a fire started in the front passenger side, inside the vehicle. I pulled over to the side of the street, turned the car off, grabbed my son who was in a car seat in the back and got out of the car safely. Not a minute after we got out of the car, the entire car was engulfed in flames. The fire department did an investigation and classified it as undetermined, but mechanical in nature. We bought our acura brand new from the dealer in 2014 and have only had it serviced at the acura dealer. We have not experienced any issues with the car, other than regular maintenance. I'm extremely concerned that the car would burst into flames while driving.

My brand new mdx has had issues with multiple warning lights appearing on the vehicle when starting the engine.this includes check engine warning, lane departure warning failure, power steering issue and possibly additional warnings.the vehicle did this the first time when i took delivery of the vehicle and at that time, was resolved by fixing a loose plug.then it did it again when i was supposed to pick up my vehicle for a couple minor trim repairs saturday, december 7, 2014.the vehicle is still with service and they have yet to figure out what is causing the warning light issue.i was advised that they are in touch with acura's tech line on this and they hope it will be resolved soon.additionally, i completed further research on this and noted that other owners are experiencing similar problems with warning lights appearing on their 2014 mdx vehicles.here is an online reference that i found where owners have posted comments on this:http://www.mdxers.org/forums/94-new-2014-acura-mdx/63666-2014-mdx-issues.html.

Brake pedal gets really stiffen up and car won't start unless i depress the brake really really hard. Seems like faulty brake system. This happens when the vehicle has been left sitting for awhile. Happening frequently now.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. While making a left turn out of a parking space, a sudden clicking noise was heard from the steering column. The steering wheel suddenly became locked and could not be turned to the right. The driver immediately depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle lunged to the right and hit the curb. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 32,000. Updated 10/26/16*lj

While traveling on a city street, the computer started to change radio stations, fan speeds, temperature, and heated seats without any operator input and in a very rapid manner for approximately 5 minutes. By the time we got the vehicle to the dealership, the system had reset and the dealer advised they could not find any issues with the vehicle. Since then, we continue to have problems and they now include thecollision warning system going off while sitting still, the rear view camera will keep operating while driving forward, the touchscreen panels quit working for up to 10 minutes at a time, the navigation system will show inaccurate information, and the panels have gone blank and then showed the message hdd error, contact service. Acura service and client relations has advised that they do not believe there is a problem because the vehicle does not exhibit the problems while in their shop and have stated that unless they see the problem, there is no problem.

First, i have had the vehicle for a little over a year. I have driven to florida and nc without issue. Today will be the 4th time taking my car to the acura dealership in less than 3 months. Today the car started to kickback when i reach 20mph. Also, at 80mph the car is jerky when i accelerate or decrease and go again. Also when i release the gas, the speed decreases quickly as opposed to gradually. Around 60mph the car tends to have a slight jerk which ive notified acura but they said i need a wheel alignment which ive done. The issue prior was all the lights in the dash came on the the drive function was almost paused while the vehicle was in motion. Acura claimed the issue was minor yet i am going again today. Prior to that issue, something near the tires was scratching or something which they claimed the issue was fixed. What led me to the dealership the first time was the vehicle was jerky at different times while accelerating.acura performed a software upgrade which fixed the issue for a couple days. At some point, the vehicle needs to be re-assessed and possibly totaled out or something. I have 3 kids and always on the run. I used to trust acura and the reliability but the issues seem to get worse and worse.

All dash lights came on and power steering went. Dealership says it is okay and a misfire. 2/2/15 same thing happened, awd, power steering, and brakes went. Then the car stopped running and wouldn't start. An hour later it started again and alarms were off. The dealership also had to replace the transmission at 4k miles. Car doesn't sense key sometimes and won't start. Locks on its own. Heated seats won't turn on/off. Car makes weird noise when making sharp turns and wheels pull straight.

Forward collision warning (fcw) system: sometimes going on a smooth road fcw activates all of a sudden and flashed in the dashboard with an alarm. You have to press brakes in order to ensure that you are getting into an accident. Acura need to fix this warning system and ensure its more reliable.brakes and rotors are warped at 13000 miles. Went to dealer and they told that it needs resurfacing.continuous whistling noise from engine when your foot is on gas and when its off it stops. Acura hasn't been able to figure out where is the problem

Last may, i have purchased a 2014 mdx( tech+advanced) at acura dealership in valencia,ca. Its current mileage clocks at 7200 miles. So far, i have visited the dealership for maintenance request for over 10 occasions.i have recently noticed the a/c indicator randomly blink .and now after driving 6,500 miles my engine started making this cricketing sound inside. But, the service manager i spoke to still says it's normal.he said all 2014, 2015 mdx are like that. But i can't help to express my concern over this. It this was normal, the sound should've been around since i first purchased the car instead of after 6,500 miles of driving. At this moment the sound has been growing as well. Anyway i have left my car after receiving a call from the valencia dealership to fix the issues of my vehicle on oct.21i have been informed the following to be resolved:first, the air conditioning will be fully replaced the a/c unit for the a/c monitor light that has been one. Second, in-depth checkup for the cricketing sound from my engine.however, on nov 4 after receiving back my mdx, i noticed the a/c monitor back on and again, and the cricketing sound came back.i went back to the dealership in search of answers on exactly what they have fixed', and their response was that they didn't know how to replace the a/c and the engine sound is normal.i also contacted honda corporate office on thenov 12th and i was informed that the a/c was in fact not replaced and rearranged the placement of the engine to minimize the cricketing sound. Our family feel very cheated with these responses when i was promised that the a/c will be fixed, and engine sound will be resolved through various ways like water pump replacement.what upsets me most is that the dealership did not make actual effort to at least try to resolve their customer's concerns.

While trying to accelerate during a left turn, the engine completely lost power and the accelerator would not work.all engine warning lights came on.we nearly avoided an accident by coasting into the center lane.i had to turn off the car and restart in order to gain the ability to accelerate again, but all the warning lights remained on.drove it to the dealer, but they have yet to be able to determine what the problem is.this is the 3rd time this has happened - all during the first 5 minutes of driving during the morning.the last incident could have resulted in a serious crash.

Car batteries run out power well within their warranty period to the point where the vehicle stalls without any advance notification / alert

Ibought 2014 acura mdx brand new and after 2000 mile a noise came out from engine i went dealer they ordered the part and fixed and the same problem happened after 5000 miles. I have lots of headaches since i bought this car. The suspensions are very bad even when i bought it from the dealer as a first day. And now i have all lights on such as battery, brake, hill stability problem, steering wheel problem, engine emission stability problem writing, shown all wheel drive problem.whenever i go to dealer theyreset the signs and say its ok now. They charge me but after a while again happens and this time saying different problem.. Really has too much problem. Suspensions and brake a worst.now i am afraid to drive this car with my little baby and family.100% i believe car stops in middle of the way.. Its very dangerous. . please inform acura because they aren't careening and especially every new mdx drivers have problems with this brand new expensive cars. Thank you very much for your time and understanding us.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. When attempting to start the vehicle, the power steering failure error message displayed and the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,000.

When attempting to start the vehicle, there was only a repetitive click, click, click sound. The engine would not turn over. This indicated a battery issue that was contradicted by the fact that everything else was working i.e. Horn, lights, blower, radio. A quick search of the internet diagnosed the problem as an issue with the hands free module weakeningthe battery just enough to not start.

Flames and fire shot out from the front passenger side vents and under the dashboard and glove compartment, engulfing the vehicle into flames resulting in a total loss.the vehicle was in motion on a neighborhood street.

The push button ignition switch was accidentally pushed, very briefly, while the car was still moving, with the gear shift in still in drive mode, the engine shut off.this could result in serious injuries or even death if the car abruptly changed speed, loss power to other safety control systems, loss power to the airbags, or loss power to the brakes.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning and failed to restart. The dealer stated that a negative cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The failure mileage was 17,000.updated 12/01/14*ljupdated 5/11/2015

The 2014 acura mdx had a sudden inadvertent braking issue with simultaneous vehicle stability assist (vsa) light and brake light on when the car was in motion. The screen panel was automatically shut down. I heard a deep sparking sound (like a minor explosion sound). This situation happened several times when the auto was either running on a highway (60-70 mile/hour) or on the local driving (20-40 mile/hour) even without any vehicle in front of the mdx. It seems that the issue has no any association with weather conditions.

Vehicle would not start initially and displayed several error codes once it finally started. Once i began driving it did not have normal steering control and seemed as the transmission had problems. It wouldn't accelerate normally and the rpms ran higher than usual. There was no difference when i switched between normal and sport mode like usual. The n orlando auto nation acura stated the issues were caused by a bad battery but it was serviced a week prior at auto nation honda and the battery tested good (see attached image). They replaced the battery and cleared the error codes but it seems like the steering is still loose and still has poor acceleration compared to before the issue with the error codes. I am very concerned about these issues for the safety of my family. It has been two days since the battery has been replaced and plan to return to address these issues soon as possible. Please see attached photos.

Bad brake rotors at 12000 milesstarted facing vibration in steering wheel when mdx had 8k miles on it and at that time dealer told that its normal in my next service for oil change i told the dealer tech that i am still facing the problem and its quite significant. He stated that its rotor surface are uneven and warped and he has to resurface all 4 of these rotors.how can rotor gets warped at 12-13k miles. Its fairly new car. My concern is to replace all the bad rotors but dealer insisted that they will resurface those rotors.resurfacing reduces the life of the rotors and then i called acura and they assigned me district case manager and in turn they talked to dealer and final result is that they will resurface it not replace it.if the product is defective then they should replace it. I think the amount of concerns regarding 2014 acura mdx they are receiving regarding the brakes are enormous and they should recall or replace the rotors.engine noise/ transmission noise.while going to la from sacramento i noticed that while at 65- 70 mph there is always a whistling noise when you are stepping on gas and when you take your foot off the gas it stopped.its annoying and defeats the purpose of buying such a high end suv and instead of less road noise you hear whistling sound.i took it to dealer for diagnostic and they stated that its either from engine or from transmission and they have no solution to it.update from apr 25, 2016 this is update from last time when niello acura could replicate the noise but there wasn't any solution to it.i called acura hq and they set an appointment for acura tech-dpsm on 04/21/2016 to drive and next day i get call back that they could replicate the whisling noise but the same noise also came from other 2014 model they drove.so there is no solution to it.

I have a major safety issue with my 6 month old mdx (less than 5000 miles).the car is making grinding noises and vibrates, intermittently.the dealer has dismissed my claims and made minor modifications with insulation, and hoodclips.nothing has been done to determine the cause of the problem and they pretend that there is nothing wrong, even though the service manager has heard it on more than one occasion.the care has been brought to the dealership four times over the course of the past 6 months and they have held my car in service for over 30 days.when we attempted to pick up the car last night, there was now a new extremely loud noise with every time i attempted to brake.the on-duty sales manager heard the noise and insisted that i leave the car for service.today, the dealership is refusing to address this new issue, and still ignoring the old issue, which was caused while my car was in their service department for the past month.the car is unsafe to drive and i feel taken advantage of by acura.the dealership is also saying "their hands are tied."i have attempted to call their national customer service line and they have given me the run around, insisting that all of their supervisors and case manager are in meetings.how do i address this issue?please help in this matter.if you read on-line many other people are having issues with the newly redesigned 2014 mdx, produced at a new alabama plant.acura needs to recall this model, before people are killed on the road.

While driving in a main road, smoke started to fill the inside of the car. Pulled over immediately, opened the hood, there was fire that was rapidly expanding. Call 911, by the time they arrived (about 4 to 5 mins), the fire consumed the entire car.

Shortly after i purchased this vehicle in 2013, i noticed that their was a loud vibration coming from the front right driver's side near the wheel well when driving at speeds between 30 - 45 mph.this vibration would occur intermittently.when i took the vehicle back in to the acura dealership, it was stated that they could not duplicate the issue.two years later, the issue is still occurring and the dealership "can't duplicate".additionally, noticed that there was bubbling of the front grill chrome paint.later it became apparent that the left front passenger window panels were warped.didn't make too much of a fuss about either issue, but in the summer of 2015, while running my car through a car wash, the panel popped off and began flapping in the wind.returned vehicle to dealership and the window panel was replaced.at this time, i also informed them that the vehicle had begun to start exhibiting issues upon acceleration like it was struggling to gain power.you could also see the rpm indicator began to fluctuate when this issue occurred.this was also happening between 30-45 mph.dealer performed a diagnostic and said that they were unable to locate any issues.driving the vehicle does not feel safe.i am afraid that it will lose power while i am driving and cause an accident.i have owned multiple acuras and the quality of this vehicle is by far the worst of any vehicle that i have ever owned.

The car sputters and lurches between 30-40 mph or so. It can't maintain speed. You have to speed up or slow down significantly for it to stop. It's ridiculous and annoying that a 45-50,000 dollar car would do this. The car has been doing it since the day we bought it. Also needed to mention the audible ticking the engine makes when idling.why hasn't something been done about this considering many people have complained of this issue????

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was unable to restart after the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,800.

Flames and fire shot out from the front passenger side vents and under the dashboard and glove compartment, engulfing the vehicle into flames resulting in a total loss.the vehicle was in motion on a neighborhood street.

Not long after purchasing vehicle used it started this lurching and hesitations in movement, this can also be observed (the jumps and hesitations) in rpms on the tac. This is occurring consistently primarily when driving between 30-40 mph; this does not stop unless you accelerate quickly or allow your speed to drop below 20 mph

This is the fourth incident of unintended engine revving with this vehicle. This fourth incident occurred at 7121 miles. Was in "reverse," positioning the vehicle to pull into a parking space.the engine suddenly accelerated while i was in "reverse" and my foot on the brake pedal.had to firmly press on the brake pedal to hold the car from running into people and other vehicles behind our vehicle. Shifted into "neutral".the engine sounded like one third of full throttle.i pressed on the gas pedal and the engine returned to idle. My wife was with me during this incident.she was with me in the vehicle during three of these four similar incidents.

Recently faced a situation where i was traveling on a freeway @ 65-70 mph and suddenly suv flashed a fcw( forward collision warning system) . I had to apply the brakes in the middle of the freeway fearing an accident. It may have caused us to to go into a crash with a cars coming from behind . Nhtsa has to look into this feature. There is some problem with the sensors of fcw

Vehicle has 25k miles. While driving a low speeds the car stalls out and then accelerates forward causing us to hit the breaks. I have had very close calls with accidents due to the stalling and uncontrolled acceleration. The dealer states there is nothing wrong.

The vehicle that i use for daily commute, acura mdx, had a break down on 5/16/16.it was later towed to the acura dealership ( suburban acura ). The cause of the breakdown was diagnosed as overheating of the engine due to tampering.also, the vehicle was at the same dealership on 4/23/16 when no problem was noticed.myvehicle is always parked in a secure location at work ( monitored by veterans police at the va hospital ) and at home in a secure garage.i asked the va police if there is a possibility of tampering at work and i have been told that they would have noticed it since the area is under video surveillance.i strongly suspect that the suv was compromised ( tampered / damaged ) during routine maintenance when it was at the dealership prior to the breakdown and the dealer is trying to deflect the issue by citing tampering as the cause.when asked if this was possible, acura customer service ( mrs april at 800-382-2238 ext 115239 ) & the dealership ( suburban acura, farmington hills, mi )deny this by verbally stating that " engine heating due to this kind of tampering would result within less than 5 miles of driving and i would have noticed it on the day the suv left the dealership when it went for routine maintenance"i fail to understand how i could drive more than 20 miles to work or back home if tampering did happen at either work or at home. Tampering of this kind apparently is only possible with special instrumentation and i fail to understand why anyone would do this. The other issue we suspect is if there is a defective part ( from acura ) and they are unwilling to admit it to avoid liability.

The car has periodically shown an alert indicating an imminent activation of the automatic braking safety system when nothing has been in front of the car.today, it did it this morning, and then later in the morning, while driving 30 mph, the car cut off, making it inoperable and it stopped in a travel lane of a busy road.we were able to re-start it long enough to navigate off the road to a safe location, and it promptly cut off again.after that, it wouldn't run for more than 30 seconds.every warning imaginable (power steering problem, lane keep assist problem, emission system problem, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problem) was displaying on the information panel in sequential order.we had the vehicle towed to an acura dealership for inspection/repair.

Hearing grinding/buzzing sound toward left front-side / engine area when driving between 20+ miles per hour. This noise is intermittent but occurs during every commute. Noise occurs quickly then goes away.when driving 2-hours in traffic, heard over 30 grinding/buzzing noises at various speeds. Noise can be subtle to audibly clear from the back-seat. This has been occurring for past month and half, and grinding / buzzing noise is audible at ever commute.at first warranty repair, dealership service rep said that this is coming a common issue for 2014 acura mdx and it's a bulkhead cover strikers and latches issue. Replaced the part without further diagnosis. Took back to dealership second time and test drove with mechanic. Mechanic confirmed the grinding / buzzing noise. Repair did not fix the issue and grinding / buzzing noise is still occurring. Found on youtube and online 2014 acura mdx forums that other 2014 mdx owners are having same issue.

2014 acura mdx.consumer writes in regards to defective voice control system.the consumer stated the voice control system dud not understand his voice or his wife's voice. The dealer could not explain the control features.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v417000 (equipment) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Our vehicle is an acura mdx 2014 with the advance package. One feature of the package is adaptive cruise control which aims to keep the vehicle moving at a steady rate and at a set distance from any vehicle in front of it. On several occasions, when vehicles in front of ours slows down or a vehicle merges from another lane in front of us (even transiently), instead of gradually braking and speeding up, the acura performs sudden deceleration with hard braking even if the vehicle in front is doing the same speed or going only slightly slower. After the hard braking starts, if the vehicle in front speeds up, our vehicle does not recover and start to accelerate again. I have a pregnant wife who is the main driver of the car and i am concerned that this problem will cause her to be rear-ended.

Traveling 65 mph on a freeway with adaptive cruise control (acc) engaged, vehicle suddenly brakes hard on its own for no apparent reason; dropping 10 mph in a heartbeat.the vehicle did not produce a collision warning message on the dash. The cars in front on me were well beyond the longest 4 bar range of the acc so it was not detecting and locked onto a car in front of me. There were no cars on either side, no car crossing in front of me and the road was flat with no obstacles. Fortunately, the car behind me was not tailgating as the sudden deceleration could have caused a rear end collision.sudden deceleration has happened twice during the six weeks i've owned this vehicle. I've also noticed that the acc is inconsistent, often sluggish, in responding to the speed of traffic when it is detecting a car in front of me; creating additional hazard concerns for the driver...updated 05-27-15 updated 8/28/2017

In october of 2018, both my right side hatch/lid tail light assembly and body tail light assembly filled with water rendering them both inoperative. Dealer replace both hatch and body tail light which i paid for out of pocket. Dealer service manager reported that both light assemblies had scratches which allowed water to penetrate even though no scratches were evident. After replacement, i requested that the original failed lights be given back to me. After inspection there were no scratches or defects. The gaskets however were loose and worn. Subsequently, the hatch/lid tail light assembly was covered by recall due to water penetrating inside the lends. Acura dealer again replace/repaired both hatch tail lights per recall. The body tail lights were not under recall and were not repaired even though one had to be replace earlier due to same water issue.body tail lights/gasket is also defective. Gaskets/lights need to be recalled and replaced/repaired.

The consumer owns a 2014 acura mdx. The consumer stated that they had received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v256000 (exterior lighting). The consumer stated that the tail lights were filled with water and became inoperable. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to curry acura (685 central park ave, scarsdale, ny 10583, (914) 472-6800) where it was diagnosed that the tail lights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case numbe, but did not assist. The failure mileage was 72,300.*as

Drivers side rear taillight on quarter panel. Seals failed and filled with water rendering driving light to malfunction.told dealer about problem and they said recall only affected inner rear hatch lights. Car is garaged its whole life. Clearly a manufacturing defect. Must have happened much previously than noticed at dealer.

Headlight assembly leaking and holding water causing degraded illumination and short circuit hazard.this isknown recall issue with acura tsl headlight assembly and acura mdx tail lamps, both made of similar construction.

First, many new vehicles install halogen head lamps, some of them are white in color.these head lamps are exceptionally bright.i live in california where there is law restricting the brightness of these lamps.i strongly believe that some of these head lamps are overly bright because it blinds my eyes at night.one model in particular is the new 2013, 2014 prius.i wonder if they pass the requirement of law of all the states.second, most of the models manufactured by acura and mercedes benz installed frog lights and by default, the frog is turned on without the head lamp.this violates law in california.i am not sure where to file complain, but hope you can redirect to the appropriate party.this concerns drives safety.thank you very much.

Tail and stop lights collecting moisture. Possibly result in:a blown fuse, which disables the front and rear position lights, reduces vehicle visibility and increases risk of a crash.continental acura of naperville and acura atomobile divisionof americasn hondamotor company refuse to replace it .

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated that moisture entered the rear driver's side liftgate tail light. There was no warning indicator illuminated. An unknown local dealer was notified and did not assist. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.

While driving in a main road, smoke started to fill the inside of the car. Pulled over immediately, opened the hood, there was fire that was rapidly expanding. Call 911, by the time they arrived (about 4 to 5 mins), the fire consumed the entire car.

On or about 50,000 miles we noticed the car would surge when driving on a flat level surface about 50 miles an hour.the tachometer will show a pulsing rpmmy wife first complaint officially about it when the car head just over 80,000 miles and we were told it was a software issue but it was out of warranty.. This does not seem like it should be expired as it is an issue with the car and should be a relatively easy fix and not have to pay $400 to have it done

Drivers side door window was inoperable several days over the winter. Acura said it was due to polar vortex. Other windows worked find. Door handle on this door has also failed. Struggle with windshield frosts on drivers side as well. It seems like there is a bad seal on this door that is allowing moisture in causing door handle to fail and window to freeze.

I got into a parking space, and pushed the brake but the car jumped onto the sidewalk. I removed my foot from the brake and then the car started speeding up. The car crashed through the window of an empty store. I tried to push the brake even harder but it did not work. The car finally stopped when it hit the wall inside the store. I was in a shock. Luckily, nobody was injured. I found several similar complaints on the internet but could not find a recall for a similar issue. One of the previous claims states: "acura is claiming that no problem can be found with our vehicle." this is an extremely serious safety concern and could result in fatalities. Is there anything else i need to do in order this issue to be investigated seriously?

On numerous occasions my car shutters and will not accell or will lunge without pressure being applied to the far pedal.i've taken the car back to the dealership numerous times and they replace transmission fluid, etc.nothing helps.a service person working at the dealership told me that they are trying to wait for my warranty to expire.

Transmisson feels like it slips, shimmys, tachometer jumps up and down 600 or more rps under light accelerating and steady throttle in2,3,and sometimes 4th gear. Dealer prime acura westwood massachusetts claims car requires extra maintenance to be considered under warranty and voided issue telling honda not to fix trouble as brake flush, rear axle gear lube changes not done and paid to dealer.this is s a non warranty service dealer claims is needed to maintain warranty service ,thus telling honda to void the warranty. I provided multiple tsb's to dealer but they refuse service as i repeatedly refused to pay for non warranty, not required services to dealer. Please note honda has published tsb's that i had provided to prime acura at the time service was requested, i was informed i must pay for services before this issue would be considered under the acura/honda 6 year drivetrain warranty request.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated that while parked, another vehicle slightly bumped the contact's vehicle and caused it to roll away in reverse and down a hill. The contact's vehicle then crashed into another vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed.the vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000.

Torque converter rattling type noise when accelerating at or near 40 mph, and also 60 mph. Dealer attempted fluid flush and software update to no avail. Returning vehicle back to dealer for further diagnoses and repairs.

After driving on highway for 20mins, when diving on city street or at low speed, transmission failed to shift gears, lost manual shift control also, vehicle kicked back and forth strongly with very loud sound when driving and shifting automatically. Engine light is on, says emissions system failed, lane departure warning system failed, transmission failed. After restarted(multiple times), transmission still not working properly, very rough shift, whole car kicked and shaked when gear up. If press gas harder, gear will not go up on time, rpm will go very high, speed remains slow. If press brake, gear shifts down too early and engine will slow the car in sudden. Cannot drive safely or on highway at all. Same issue happened in january 2019, dealer changed solenoid control assembly under warranty, but same thing happened again in june and july 2020 and got worse at this time. Six speed at transmission in 2014 acura mdx. Read a lot of reports of the same issue about this transmission from other owners.

Vehicle transmission pulsuating rev never drives smooth .transmission requires flush every two to three months

This is the fourth incident of unintended engine revving with this vehicle. This fourth incident occurred at 7121 miles. I had this 2014 acura mdx for 4yr since 2016 as cpo at local acura dealer.since 2yrs ago,my rpm do not climb steady and it is jumping up and down ,especially at the speed between 40 to 60. I thought it is just transmission fluid issue.once i replacedtransmission fluid replaced, level of fluctuation became less than previous.but after couple month later, it is still same.i am wondering this issue is known for any acura mdx owner manufactured in same period.i think this could be software issue rather than mechanical issue and should be recalled to be repaired or updated.please let me know if you have any claim same as what i am experiencing.thanks for your time and sincere support.

Vehicle has hesitation/stutter when accelerating from 0 to around 20mph. This is a constant problem, not a one time occurrence.

Transmission and torque converter problem. Experiencing shutter when shifting from 2nd gear into 3rd gear. Starting at 40,000k miles. Low idling rpm hovering around 500rpm and tries to regain the appropriate idling rpm to around 600-700rpm. Hard downshifts occasionally from 2nd to 1st gear, especially in stop and go traffic

On july 14 2014, was driving my new 2014 mdx. Suddenly heard a noise like a flat tire. I pulled over to the shoulder and checked the tires. Didn't see any flat. Checked the tire gauge and all reading good.continued going where i had to go and the noise came back. It sounded like dump, dump, dump. The noises come and go at various speeds. Got back home and removed the spire tire, might be loose. Drove around the block and still heard the noise again. It?s getting dark and the following day was raining.finally got good weather. Decided to move the car into the driveway and look under the car.as i was looking i could see the left rear axle boot was twisted and grease bleeding out. I decided to crawl under the car and saw the whole differential was loose. I could shake the unit. As i look closer, i could see 3 bolts missing and 1 barely holding the differential on the chasse. I called acura service and told them about my problem and was told to bring it in. Called roadside service and had them put it on a flatbed. The dealer is replacing the left axle and bolts. I hope nothing else will come loose and this didn't damage anything else.

This is the second incident of unintended engine revving with this vehicle.this second incident occurred at approximately 4500 miles. Was pulling out of a parking space in "reverse" and came to a complete stop with my foot firmly on the brake pedal when, in an instant, the vehicle unexpectedly revved up while i was still holding the brake pedal firmly and the vehicle was still in "reverse".alarmed, i immediately put the car into "park".the transition into "park" was not smooth and the engine rpm went even higher.it sounded like one third of full throttle.my wife was in the vehicle with me.once in "park", we put down the windows to hear how loud the engine was revving.still in "park", i asked my wife to watch me step on and off the brake pedal at least three times, but the engine did not return to idle.i then kicked the accelerator pedal and the engine returned to normal idle.acura client relations had a "field representative" check my vehicle.for the second time, acura is claiming that no problem can be found with our vehicle.

I recently purchased a 2014 acura while it was still in its warranty period. After finalizing the purchase of a $40, 000.00, the vehicle began exhibiting mechanic issues with the transmission. So naturally, i contacted the my local acura dealership in chapel hill, nc. I have taken my vehicle to the same dealership a total of four times for the same issue to only be told that there was not problem with vehicle, when it exhibits otherwise.with the same mechanic issue with transmission still exhibiting itself, i decided to take my car to the acura dealership in fayetteville, nc, which is more than 78 miles from my home. The nice folks there diagnosed the vehicle and determined that it was the tort converter, which carries a price tag of over $2,600.00 to repair.the concern i have is that since my car is currently out of his 50k warranty period, in which the problem was reported but never properly diagnosed appropriately during the time it was under warranty, will acura honor its commitment to it consumer and stand behind its product, as this is a common issues misdiagnosed issue (click here ) to be directed to the online form.

My carhesitates (feels like it will stall) frequently on acceleration after slowing down or coming to a stop. This is a safety hazard especially when making left turns, etc.the dealership can not find a problem with it, but the problem does exist. This problem started at about 5000 miles and continues.

Rpms are fluctuating. Tachometer bounces up and down when slowly accelerating

Unintentional acceleration and failure of collision mitigation system 2014 acura mdx advanced.accident occurred at a strip mall parking lot located 1 mile from my residence where i was grocery shopping. Weather 65 f sunny. Heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic.i was parked head in diagonally. I placed my right foot on the brake pedal, placed the suv in reverse, lifted my right foot from the brake pedal, depressed the accelerator pedal and slowly backed out of the parking space, straightening the wheels in the process.i placed my right foot on the brake, shifted to drive, and placed my right foot on the accelerator pedal and without actually depressing the pedal the engin reved uncontrollably and the suv surged forward 100 ft at increasing speed before colliding in a domino fashion with a row of 6 vehicles pushing one of the vehicles over one of the adjacent vehicles before veering off to the side and traveling an additional 200 feet before coming to a stop.the drivers side chest and knee bags deployed when i impacted with the first vehicle.i do not remember if i attempted to brake.there were no injuries.the damages to my suv were extensive. My insurer declared it a total loss.i have photos taken at the scene of the accident showing skid marks and the damages to the vehicles before they were moved. My insurer had my vehicle examined by an automotive technician.he concluded that i simultaneously stepped on the brake and accelerator because of the pedal ware pattern. Also the diagnostic port did not show an error code.he did not examine the event data recorder (black box).i do not agree with his conclusions. I believe i did not step on the pedals simultaneously. In retrospect i believe that i accidentally engaged one of the cruise control buttons located on the steering wheel when i was backing up and straightening the wheels.

Similar to other complaints, my transmission is "stuttering" when slowly accelerating between (i think) 3rd and 4th gear and when it is between 1500-2000 rpm. It's been a constant issue since around 10000 miles or so.took to the dealer and they indicated that there was a recall; however, when i search my vin, no recall comes up.there are a lot of complaints i've found with this same issue.

Yesterday, after backing up, stepping on the brake pedal and coming to a complete stop, shifted into "park" with my foot still on the brake pedal.the engine unexpectedly revved up to what sounded like full throttle! i pushed the ignition button to stop the engine.after this one incident, the car has functioned normally.

Went out with family recently and all of a sudden front passenger side seat belt buckle won't latch. I took it to the dealer (pohanka acura). They said seat belt buckle has to be replaced and it will cost approx. $1000. I called acura and they said this is not a warranty issue. Car is only 7 years old and front passenger side is used only occasionally by an adult. I would like acura to pay for the replacement of my seat belt buckle.

Headrest is extremely uncomfortable. I know they are supposedly safe, but i don't think it's true. They force the head foreward and leave a big void from the top of your shoulders to the bottom of your head. This could break your neck in a collision by forcing the head. Sort of a reverse whiplash, if you will. Worst of all, they cause me a lot pain on long trips. Please recall these and replace them with tilt-adjustable headrests.

We recently purchased (6/25/14) an 2014 mdx acura.when the car is in motion (at any speed) and door locks are engaged in the lock position, the door handles open the doors.there is no way to prevent the passenger side door from opening if the inside handle is pulled while the car is in motion.i called the dealer, response was that is the design of the car, i contacted acura customer care spoke with [xxx] and was told the same, it's the design of the car to make it easy for the passenger and driver to exit the car.my concern is obvious and the customer care agent agreed, but there is no recourse.if the door handle is pulled while the car is in motion there could be catastrophic injury or accident.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

9 dec. 2014 brake pedal would not depress to allow starting of vehicle. After jamming foot against the "frozen" brake pedal multiple times pedal depressed enough to allow vehicle start. No further issues that day.10 dec. 2014second occurrence of exact issue as described above.24 dec. 2014while driving approx. 20 mph on an ice covered road, attempted to apply brakes in order to retard vehicle speed while descending slight hill, brake pedal would not depress. After multiple jamming of foot against brake pedal, pedal finally depressed allowing abs and brake system to function slowing vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 mph with the cruise control activated, the brakes independently engaged. The failure recurred on a separate occasion. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 1,030.

Northbound i-95, vero beach, fl exit 147. Prepared to enter deceleration lane at approx. 70 mph, no pressure on gas pedal, vehicle began to slow. In deceleration lane, attempted to apply brakes to further slow vehicle, brake pedal would not depress.after stomping on brake pedal 4-5 times it finally released and allowed the brakes to function.this was the second event of this type. First occurring 24 dec. 2013.

Brake pedal gets really stiffen up and car won't start unless i depress the brake really really hard. Seems like faulty brake system. This happens when the vehicle has been left sitting for awhile. Happening frequently now.

Almost one month ago i bought 2014 acura mdx, my first luxury vehicle, coming out of nissan vehicle, thought i would have a enjoy the ride, it only last for one month only with around 1065 miles on the odo-meter. All of sudden while driving, brakes stop responding, and all sort of messages (low brake fluid, engine stability, ldw) on my dashboard. It could have been a life threatening situation, where all of sudden vehicle stop responding to brake. I had to use aux brake to stop it. I would like to report this an issue.

Drove the vehicle (22,000 miles) on the highway through death valley in september with temperature about 105 f. On the downward side of a pass on hwy 395 and was driving about 45 mph, came into a view area and used the brakes.the vehicle violently shook with a loud noise engaged also used the emergency brake and it continued to roll forward.i did get it stopped and it sat for about 15 minutes while i was out taking pictures.got back in and slowly started down the road and there was a very small feel of vibration within the next 10 minutes and then it was normal again. Since it wasn't an immediate issue after i got back didn't immediately take it to the dealer as it wasn't been used. The dealer is 115 miles away so it takes a schedule to turn it in.on 3 december did take it in and reported the problem they came up with the problem as brake pulsation with rotors that need to be resurfaced.what occurred was more than pulsating brakes since it has not happened again and if it was just that it should still stop, as necessary.

When coming to a sudden stop the brake light will flash on the dashboard accompanied by a beeping sound for approximately 3 seconds.i have brought it into the dealers ship in metairie louisiana and am told that they cannot duplicate the problem.this has occurred approximately 4 times intermittently over the last 3 months.i am concerned because the owners manual states thebrake system is failing or the brake fluid is low.

Our 2014 acura mdx's brake rotors had to be resurfaced after only 13,000 miles.the mechanic at the dealer noted that they have seen many similar cases with the new mdx because it's so heavy.this sounds like a design problem relating to a crucial part of the vehicle.we are not aggressive drivers, nor do we live in an area with lots of stops.

The vehicle start shaking violently when braking at high speeds or with emergency braking.braking efficiency may be suffering as well.the dealer refused to cover the repair under new vehicle warranty.i paid for the front rotors to be resurfanced at 38000 miles but the problem is back at 45000 miles.the dealer is performing the same repair but concern is that this will keep happening.this a major safety issue.

I am 27 years old female that was in a car accident with my boyfriend and his mom. My boyfriends mom was the driver, i was the front seat passenger and my boyfriend was in the back seat. Both my boyfriends mom and i were wearing our seatbelts. After hanging out for the day my boyfriends mom was dropping us off at home and that was when it happened. As she was backing up out of the driveway, the accelerator must have gotten stuck because the car flew across the driveway down a hill over a basketball court and directly into a tree! thinks the vehicle was going 30-40 mph and both front airbags deployed. After the accident i had been injured and after going to the hospital and having x-rays done, the doctors have said i have a fracture (l2) to my spine. Thank god no surgery was needed although it reallysucks to have a compressed vertebra now! the accident happened on june 28, 2017 and since the accident i have been wearing a lumbar brace in order to help support my spine/back.

The 2014 acura mdx had a sudden inadvertent braking issue with simultaneous vehicle stability assist (vsa) light and brake light on when the car was in motion. The screen panel was automatically shut down. I heard a deep sparking sound (like a minor explosion sound). This situation happened several times when the auto was either running on a highway (60-70 mile/hour) or on the local driving (20-40 mile/hour) even without any vehicle in front of the mdx. It seems that the issue has no any association with weather conditions.

Our mdx experienced a large amount of brake shimmy going down a hill that almost caused the vehicle to lose control.we were very concerned about the ability of the vehicle to stop.when we took it to the dealer, they said the brakes rotors warped from overheating.overheating should not occur during normal use, especially when the vehicle is rated for towing up to 5,000 pounds.

Backing out from parking spot , steering locked up , brakes failed and car kept moving despite maximum application of brakes. Had to turn the power off to stop the car .

When driving down a long, downhill slope the steering wheel and the rest of the car started shaking when the brake is applied.from a scale of 0 to 10 i would give it a 6or more for the shaking.it is pretty bad.the exact same symptoms occurred to my 2009 honda accord.at that time i just barely owned it for less than a year for my accord.

This is about brake warning system and not about actual brakes.have experienced brake warning light coming on in instrument panel at least 15 times since feb 2014. Activates for no apparent reason. It comes on when there is no traffic in front of me in my lane and no traffic in other lane coming towards me. Has come on when at stop light and start to accelerate. Dealer cannot duplicate when car there overnight. Have talked with acura cust svc and they say they have experienced same in the vehicles they drive from time to time, and have documented some cases from other customers.they seem to indicate sensor is over sensitive and will not replace it. There is a switch to left of steering column where you can turn brake warning system off. Although they state this is not acura's policy and are not telling me to turn it off, it is in reality what they are telling people. If they are going to provide a safety warning system in the car, then it should work. Turning it off due to sensor issues seems like an accident waiting to happen. I have turned the system off and just hope some day i will not regret doing so. Thank you

Power steering is reduced and the steering wheel is harder to turn than normal. Problem usually begins early in the morning. Outside temperature does not seem to matter. This problem may go away if car is turned off then restarted but sometimes it will take several stops and restarts to go back to normal. At first this happened several weeks apart but now may it happen two or three times a week. Distance driven does not seem to cure the problem, only a restart or several restarts return steering to normal. Car had approximately 44,500 miles and now is at 45,400 miles. This is an electrical power steering ystem so no power steering fluid check is possible. I am afraid the power steering will completely fail someday soon.

Car put into reverse, wheel cranked all the way, and then noise hits when turning the wheel back other way. Brief grinding noise with steering wheel. Say i back out, and turn the wheel to full lock. Turning wheel to opposite direction causes a brief buzzing noise that's under a second. Doesn't always happen. Notice it most when i pull out in reverse to full lock, go to drive, and turn wheel in other direction. Doesn't matter if i'm in comfort/normal/sport mode. It's almost like something's rubbing/grinding or something. Loud clunk at low speed when turning. Mostly happens when turning into driveway, at about 3 mph. Took it to dealership to have it checked and was told nothing was wrong or rubbing. Couldn't replicate issue.

Power steering (eps) system problem. Is a message being displayed on the car dashboard. The car will not start. This is the second time in 2 years where we had the same issue. This problem makes the car difficult to drive and control.

Dash warning lights coming on : brake problems. Abs light problems, hill asst. Problem, lane departure warning, front collision warning, these system stop working when driving at various speeds! dealer can't find the problem!

Happens more often when exiting a parking space (steering to the max, then going straight) but also when when taking a sharp turn. The steering locks and makes a grinding noise for couple seconds making it very hard to maneuver.the problem as been reproduced and acknowledge by dealer service, but no fix has been applied.

Intermittent motor noise from behind dash with recent 3 second simultaneous steering wheel lockup resulting in my loss of steering control.reported the issues to dealer twice, but they could not replicate the issue and concluded no issue in my car.

While making a left hand turn at slow speed, steering locked and the wheel had to be forced back the other direction, barely avoiding a tree. Car makes intermittent but considerable noise/rubbing while turning (noise lasts about 2 seconds).took it to dealership today (proctor acura) and dealership could find no issues with steering.also could not replicate the noise/problem.nothing repaired and no explanation given.

While parallel parking, the power steering stopped working (car was stopped or going <3 mph). It was extremely difficult to turn the wheel. No warning lights came on. I checked to be sure nothing was stuck in the wheel wells or otherwise blocking the tires. After pulling out of the parking spot, power steering returned to normal. It happened again when re-trying to parallel park, but then power came back to normal. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet. It started all of the sudden today and appears to have resolved spontaneously. But i worry that it will return, perhaps leading to an accident.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx.the contact heard an intermittent noise behind the dashboard.while making a turn at various speeds, the power steering seized and caused temporary loss of control.initially, the dealer could not duplicate the failure.the dealer later discovered that the steering motor could be the cause of the failure; however, there was no remedy.the vehicle was not repaired.the manufacturer was notified.the failure mileage was 250.

Power steering eps problem while driving and loosing steering.

Since the vehicle was 2 months old with ~2,000 miles, about once every other week, there is a significant steering problem.this typically happens in a parking lot or pulling out of my driveway.as you get to the height of the turn (ready to let the wheel turn back), there is a loud rubbing noise that sounds like a tire hitting the wheel well.at the same time the steering wheel vibrates and the steering wheel does not spin back.i have to use force to spin the wheel back towards center.this typically happens for 2 seconds, and then everything is normal again.i can not duplicate the problem using the same exact actions.i have had 2 quite dangerous situations due to this.see below for details:oon the road waiting to take a left turn as traffic was coming the other direction.someone coming the other direction flashed their lights and waived me to turn in front of them.i turned left, and just as i was at the peak, and letting the wheel turn back to center, i got the rubbing, vibration, and lack of steering.i quickly turned the wheel back myself, barely missing a car coming in the other direction.oi was in the parking lot of the office that i work at, and was taking a right turn from a stop out of the parking garage.as i was at the peak, and letting the wheel turn back to center, i got the rubbing, vibration, and lack of steering.with that, i nearly hit the curb on the right where there was someone walking on the sidewalk.the vehicle has been to the dealer 4 times for this problem.the first time it was reproduced, and they replaced the cable reel.this did not fix the problem.the final time that it was brought to the dealer, it was in response to my lemon law claim.the dealer kept the vehicle for a few days, and i was told that the issue could not be reproduced, and my lemon law claim was denied.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. When attempting to start the vehicle, the power steering failure error message displayed and the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,000.

On highway going downhill and curves, the steering wheel horribly shakes and vehicle feels very unsafe to drive (wobbly). Felt almost like if brakes were bad but it is not the brake (brakes have almost decent amount of pads). Tires are good too. After the incident, equipped telescoping steering wheel makes loud squeaky noise when it is retracting

Approximately the middle of november, the hydraulic steering system started making loud screeching noises when it was started and the column self adjusted. Also when the vehicle column went back in after shutting off the vehicle. I have 3 separate videos if needed.

Placed vehicle in "park", and the eps light came on indicating power steering problem.drove vehicle home and steering was very hard.

On 7/22/2020, after filling up at gas station, steering wheel was locked and eps light came on.restarted car 4 times and still locked.when tow truck arrived an hour later, car drove and steered fine.towed to bergman acura in appleton, wi and they found no problems.picked up car on 7/27/2020.it drove fine for 2 days.after being parked in a friend's driveway for 2 hours on 7/29/2020, upon starting steering wheel locked and eps light came on.had it towed again to bergstrom acura and they said eps system was fried and needed to be replaced.

The steering appears like it is rubbing against something while backing or driving forward at low speeds. The transmission step down randomly as if something is slipping out. Have noticed it when turning and accelerating most of the times.

The steering and the wheels lock when turning. It goes into neutral while driving

Vehicle was stopped in the #2 lane of the freeway due to heavy traffic.a lane change was made to the left(to the #1 lane) from a stop.after exiting the lane the steering was slow to respond when trying to straighten out (turning right) and almost resulted in hitting the center divider.

Eps ! pop up as i try to start my car. Power n light is on as normal but won't start, steering wheel lock

Backing out from parking spot , steering locked up , brakes failed and car kept moving despite maximum application of brakes. Had to turn the power off to stop the car .

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. While driving at low speeds, the power steering failed. The steering wheel became difficult to maneuver and made a high pitched buzzing sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, but the results were unavailable. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 11,513.

I have an 2014 sh-awd advance with entertainment package. After having vehicle a few months i made a call about noise coming from outside of car when backing and/or pulling forward like doing a 3 point turn. Was told it was normal for this vehicle.i asked when taking vehicle for first maintenance about grinding noise and told that these cars do that and was not a problem. I have been having issues that when pulling forward with wheels only slightly turned that there is a noise and alot of resistance in the steering.on one occasion at around 13,000 miles while parking, the steering made noise and jerked wheel back opposite of way i needed to go almost caused me to hit another car. Taking into service for 2nd maintenance and will once again point out this problem and see if anything can be done because this is happening more frequently and becoming more aggressive with car taking over my steering control.

Liftgate obstruction sensor is set for a higher back pressure. The sensitivity of obstruction sensor cannot be adjusted. I feel the liftgate will not protect fingers and hands before crushing it. This liftgate pinch pointhazard management should be improved to avoid injury. The liftgate is very heavy. This is a hazard identification and consequence assessment. No injury was caused.

Flames and fire shot out from the front passenger side vents and under the dashboard and glove compartment, engulfing the vehicle into flames resulting in a total loss.the vehicle was in motion on a neighborhood street.

Driver side passenger door is not locking properly, we have to use the force like a heavy truck door. It's not safe when kids are sitting inside. Complained to acura and they say it's not a bug, that's how that door will work. 10 year daughter can not close the door on her own. Every time driver has to use more force to close the door.

I was driving on a nyc street, going over a speed bump at less than the noted (10 mph) speed when the spare tire broke from the holder and dropped into the path of the following car.

The contact owns a 2015 (na) acura mdx. While driving 40 mph, the passenger side axle fractured. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 80.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. The contact stated that upon approaching 40 mph, the vehicle vibrated without warning. The vehicle was taken to metro honda (540 nj-440, jersey city, nj 07305) for a wheel alignment however, the failure persisted after the wheel alignment was performed. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.

Experienced a humming and revving sound coming from under right side of the hood.it occurred when accelerating from 35 mph and would get louder.the sound decreased when decelerating from 35.i took it to the dealer and they diagnosed a faulty right wheel bearing.fortunately the vehicle was still under warranty.i did not experience any accidents, hit any pot holes, or curbs prior to this incident.this was completely an unknown cause.

Sunroff shattered

My navigation unit has been updated and the problem persists. The lines for nav traffic cannot be easily seen. This was fixed in 2015 and 2016 acura mdx w/ nav but have not been fixed for the 2014 mdx units. The traffic lines are very faint and unreadable to where too much time is spent trying to see traffic while driving.this will result in accidents due to diverted attention. Acura/honda is aware of the problem since the 2014 model was released, and still refuses to release a firmware update to make the traffic lines better visibility like they did for 2015 and later. Even my 2006 rl was easier to see. We were rear ended near uc davis in david california in may 2017. While i was able to anticipate 70 mph traffic making a sudden stop because my passenger was using nav traffic on their phone, and they warned me of the traffic congestion, if i had been looking at the nav unit trying to figure it out what traffic was like ahead we would have hit the car ahead of us too instead of just being rear ended. The other car hit us so hard it was totaled.this visual issue needs to be fixed either as a recall or by an optional update. The 2017 nav disk update i tried from acura did not fix the issue. The mdx forums are full of the complaint for the 2014 mdx with nav, and people are quite angry about it.essentially what acura has done is add a distraction on the 2014 mdx with nav then fix it in the 2015 and later models but not fix it in the 2014.

While traveling in a straight line at 75 mph in the far left lane of an 8-lane interstate, the hood suddenly few open and crashed into the windshield.the windshield was of course shattered.visibility was of course immediately and dramatically reduced. I bent forward and to the right to look through the small space in the center of the windshield under the hood.fortunately it was a sunny mid-afternoon and traffic was only moderate.with assistance from god, my passengers, and cooperative and observant nearby drivers, i was able to safely navigate to the far right lane and eventually off the road without further drama, damage, or any injuries to those in my car or others.

Keyless fob not recognized and locked me out of car with fob in the car

The vehicle compressor clutch assembly failed after the bolt backed itself out. The failure of this bolt resulted in the vehicles inability to engage the compressor and as a result the a/c does not work and just blows hot air. It appears to be related to the recall issued on certain model year 2014-2015 acura mdx's; mine was manufactured in 3/2014. The local acura dealership will not cover the repair under the recall for some reason even though the part failure, as described by the service technician, is exactly what is addressed by the recall. Apparently, my vehicle was manufactured outside of the date range addressed by the recall.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. Upon using the cruise control feature, the vehicle would decelerate to 20 mph when a large vehicle passed by. The failure occurred more than three times. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v301000 (vehicle speed control). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

Dash warning lights coming on : brake problems. Abs light problems, hill asst. Problem, lane departure warning, front collision warning, these system stop working when driving at various speeds! dealer can't find the problem!

S10 appropriate handling- letter to the secretary from re copy of letter to acura usa vice president john mendel regarding 2014 acura mdx throttle problem and requesting inspection to ensure safety *tgwthe consumer stated on the morning of november 17, 2014, while entering the garage, the vehicle lurched forward and would not respond to the brake. The vehicle went through the back of the garage and caused significant damaged to her home and the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 acura mdx. While driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently and crashed into a rod iron fence. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,323. The vin was not provided.

The steering and the wheels lock when turning. It goes into neutral while driving

Vehicle hesitates with acceleration and does not maintain constant speed.with acceleration, the vehicle hesitates and then lurches suddenly.the vehicle fails to maintain a constant velocity, especially going up a slight grade, most noticeably at 35mph and 45mph.

Rpms are fluctuating. Tachometer bounces up and down when slowly accelerating

As the vehicle being driven, it occasionally lurches. As the vehicle produces these sudden stops and accelerations during the normal driving (local streets and highways), i, as a driver, temporarily lose the control of the car. Consequently, this car lurching situation may lead to the driver losing a temporary or complete control of the vehicle which could ultimately cause a collision.

Front windshield initiated crack at seal between window and frame immediately above rear view mirror. There was no external impact from rock or debris.

Sunroof explosion - saturday 1/13/18 evening 7:30 pm driving on open highway (hardy toll road in north of houston) to airport to pick up my family.clear skies, ~50f.while driving at 68mph heard a loud/deafening 'pop'. No other cars nearby, no overpasses nearby.the glass explosion of the sunroof was spontaneous and blew up and then fell.take a look at photo to show crest near center of glass, also the edges of the glass near body are now lower than body. Showing upward motion to glass.sunscreen was closed and caught most of glass.

The 2014 mdx is now equipped with a driver's side mirror that is split vertically into two pieces one larger and one smaller.the smaller mirror creates the illusion that a passing car is crashing into your vehicle. It is quite disconcerting to a driver. Both myself and my son have had this experience.it causes a driver to react to a danger that does not exist.

I was driving on a nyc street, going over a speed bump at less than the noted (10 mph) speed when the spare tire broke from the holder and dropped into the path of the following car.
