Car jerks, slips and hesitates when shifting from reverse to drive and when driving at low speeds.already taken to dealer to look at, was told it's because car was in "break-in" period, however now that it has 1k miles, issues are still occurring.i've seen reports of the tlx with similar issues and same 8 speed transmission where acura had a software update for a fix.when i mentioned this to the dealer, they acted as if they never heard of this issue.
My 2017 acura ilx makes a loud clunk, and shifts extremely hard when coming or coasting to a stop. 1-2 gear seems to be the only time this issue arises. This issues creates startling reaction from the driver due to the loud clunk and force of the shift in gears,as well as loss of confidence in the vehicles ability to safely come stop without issues.reproducing the issue is difficult because the issue usually occurs in traffic in 1-2 gears and test driving it around the block is not sufficient enough to experience hard shift/clunk. I was told it may be the rear differential bushing. Once they checked that, they were able to rule out the possible bushing issue.there are no codes being shown, and no other issues present before or clunk/jamming of the gears. This issue began 4-5 months after purchasing the vehicle from a honda/acura dealer washington in dec 2020
Vehicle was in motion and stopped on the highway access rode.the transmission/power train and gears were stripped and unable to move the car.the right axle was stripped.the left back tire was a defect and tire split.i have to pay for a tire within 15k miles and the power train, gear, transmission and right axle went out less than 8 months of owning the car. American honda co and vangergriff acura fail to replacement the car or buy me out the contract. The defects were known by american honda co. And vangergriff honda in arlington, tx.there are been several incidents known and they still sold the car to me with acknowledging that this a problem with nurmerous vehicles they sold and are selling. The honda motor co. And ncds failed to send experienced personnel with mechanic backgrounds to address the matter and denied my claim.
When coming to a stop at a red light, the car continued to roll forward. At this time, i stepped on the brake with added pressure but the car continued to roll. Then i shifted the car into park but that did not stop the vehicle and it rolled into a truck in front at less than 5 mph. The dealership states they cannot duplicate the incident and found no errors while conducting their inspections.
