Acura will notify owners with an initial letter and a second letter will be mailed when parts are available. The light on my 2013 ilx are being foggy and show diminish light .door latch acts up sometimesas well- it lock and then it does not unlock.passenger airbag always is out of wack- it says that they are off then on...

I went in for a airbag recall back in 2016i got in a car accident on 7/30/19 which totaled my car but my air bags never deployed which caused a injury to the left side of my head from me hitting the steering wheel . Police said the airbags should of deployed from how bad the accident was .

Takata recall:status as 09/05/16 "remedy notyet available ". This is an unacceptablelength of time for issue resolution.provide remedy by 09/30/16.

Takata recall. Acura called me mid april stating that parts had been ordered to fix the recalled airbags of my car.i called in july to determine when the parts would be in and they said they didn't know.that was over 90 days ago.i'm starting to wonder if acura really has the parts available.

Takata recall ...i have not received information about acura replacing the air bags.

Takata recall - i have a received a letter from acura from march 2016 advising of the safety recall of airbags. The acura website advises to "please contact an authorized honda or acura dealership immediately to schedule an appointment to have your vehicle repaired".but the dealership advises they do not have the parts & cannot advise a more accurate timeframe of when i can schedule an appointment to get the issue rectified. It has been 3 months since i first received the letter, but the standard response i receive is "it will be sometime during june & august".i have also logged a formal case for my inquiry (case# 04619491) on apr 18, 2016 but have not received any further follow ups.it just does not seem that acura is treating this issue with urgency & have been very complacent, as i have received no additional new updates.please enforce acura to deal with this matter more urgently & expedite a resolution - awaiting over 3 months with no new progress updates is simply unacceptable.

Takata recall:car driven by my son in college.he returned for summer late may 2016.vehicle taken to dealer for recall.airbags not in stock.left for college again late august with new airbag not available.dealer said they were instructed by acura to do personally owned vehicles last.called by dealer late 2016 that airbag was in - but car now 1000 miles away.terrible!!!!!

I believe my vin # should be included in the recall for drivers air bag. I have had the drivers air bag fixed jan 2019 and now will have to have it fixed in a couple weeks as the air bag lights are going on again for the drivers air bags. I see there are recalls for 2013 acura ilx but for some reason my vin # is not coming up. Please investigate further.

Takata recall:i feel that acura is not sufficiently remedying the problem.i have contacted my acura client relations case manager on multiple occasions since receiving my original notice on march 14, and have not received a call back.i coordinated with my acura dealer a loaner car, but they put me in a non-comparable enterprise rental car.i was also coerced into agreeing to store the recalled vehicle on my own because the dealer doesn't have space to store it for the 2-3 months while the part is being produced.additionally, i am making significant car payments during this period of time which warrant me being supplied a comparable vehicle.

Takata recall: it was my first " new car". It had great sentimental value. Even though it was a lease i had intended on keeping it at the end of oct.2016the biggest letdown however is how acura has handled the takata airbag recall. I find it hard to believe no one knew about the recall prior to march 2016i first was notified about the recall and started hearing about the deaths and accidents associated with the takata airbag recall. When i first called "acura client relations" and asked about the situation, knowing they were to put me in a safe vehicle at my request, i was told i would receive a phone call with 24 hours. No one called me back. April 9 i decided to visit acura of the desert to talk to a manager in person about this issue. The manager seemed happy enough to up sell me into a 2016 acura ilx but made no mention of providing me with an option of a rental, and told me i would be getting a call from a sales person the next day with some pricing ( monthly) payments if i decided to trade my ilx in for the 2016. The bottom line is i never heard back from anyone the next day, again. I was left to believe that acura simply doesn't care or follow through and is too concerned with money and the sale than the safety and their loyalty of their customers i learned very quickly at least in the last year that acura does the minimum and hopes you don't realize when there are problems. I went to lexus, across the street from the acura dealership after not hearing from them for the second time -had to pay $1500.00 down and leased a safe vehicle due to acura's inability and ineffective communication skills; what they didn't realize is that they are dealing with a commuting, working mother of 3 who is trying her best to make decisions for her and her family's safety. I am sorry this happened and realize you don't have the parts to fix the recalled airbags until summer.

2013 acura ilx.consumer writes in regards to parts not available to repair airbag recall notice.

Takata recallthe complaint i have is that none of the dealerships in the area are able to help fix the recalled issue.i got a letter in the mail stating this airbag issue has "killed and injured vehicle drivers" in the past; hence, this needs to be fixed immediately.i called elite acura in maple shade, nj and they said they've heard no info regarding the fix for this issue.another dealership at least just told me the parts are on back order.is there any way to get this fix expedited?i don't feel safe driving my car.

Car unlocks my itself after locking.

My car was in motion i was driving on a main street and then my car suddenly broke down. I had no prior lights on. The vehicle began shaking, my check engine light began flashing and the rest of the lights on the dashboard began flashing with the code p0202, and could not accelerate past 3 mph. I was in the middle of the street and it took me over 20 minutes to pull into a gas station that would normally take 5 minutes, i don't know how i even made it to the station without pushing the car myself. I had to tow it directly to the acura dealership. I have owned the car less than 2 years and have had no prior issues. Acura notified me it was my fuel injector and coils after running the diagnostic. I had to pay $1,200 out of pocket because my warranty expired. I was notified that this was a complete parts issue, a rare occurrence, there was nothing i could have done, this was a manufacturing issue. Then i received a call from acura after the parts were replaced that they fried out the pcm-the computer of the car. They stated my car was not driveable until the pcm was replaced and that it did not show in the diagnostic until they replaced the parts. So now, a parts failure led to an electrical failure. They told me there was nothing listed in the service bulletin because this was not a common issue. I had to pay an additional $1,100 now totaling to a $2,200 unprecedented out-of-pocket expense for a manufacturer failure. This is terrifying because my car was working completely fine, driving smoothly, and out of nowhere without any indication gave out on me, placing my life in danger. Suspiciously enough, during this timeframe, i get a notification of a recall on my vehicle for a stop sale related to driveshaft corrosion which could cause my car to stop. What if this is the issue that caused the other problems?

October 13, 2013 i was in the church parking lot and tried to start the car. The car won't start or crank up.. June 4, 2014, again the ilx won't start or crank up. The car was in a parking lot of a school.both times the car had to be jump start. I was told the fog light was using up the battery so the dealer turned the fog light off. Then i was told the nav was using up the battery and finally i was told the battery cell was faulty.the acura dealer finally changed the battery since the battery is still on warranty.i am on wait and see situation right now whether i would have the same battery problemin six months.

For over one year i have been reporting to acura that my 2013 ilxcomputer system is being tampered with. Acura's response had been to deny of knowing any issues with the electrical/computer system. Two weeks ago while washing my car in the driveway,i witnessed the doors lock/unlocked and alarm system set, this cycle repeatedfor a least an entire minute. I notified acura and was told to take to dealership, they recommended i have the key fobs reset, charged $74.00 just to hook up car to computer. The 2 key fobs were reset and two days later i found the car tampered with again. After spending the money i found these links on the internet.http://www.today.com/news/police-admit-theyre-stumped-mystery-car-thefts-6c10169993

Rear lights stopped working. I have break lights and turn signal but no rear lights.front supension (or something up front)makes bouncing noise at 45k on the vehicle.

Upon filling my 2013 acura ilx, i would get back into the car and the cabin smelled like i spilled gas in the back seat.this happened on multiple occasions and there was a gray streak from the fender about 3 inches wide to it tapering to about an inch when it ended at the bottom of the fender/bumper area.i took my car to the dealership three times and the car was never tested under the conditions of when i had the issues.they did all the other tests except the one that caused the problem, the very bad gas fume smells in the cabin of the car.if i lit a match, that car would have blown up, easily, that's how bad the problem is with this car.the 2013 acura ilx is the sister vehicle of honda civic.the honda civic was recalled for the model years 2011 and 2012 for fuel system issues which mimicked what i went through with this 2013 acura ilx.i turned that acura in early and did not fulfill the terms of my lease due to this dangerous car.i finally got fed up with the dealership not testing my car when the issue arose with me and them telling me that the car was safe.that was totally incorrect.this 2013 acura ilx had an incredibly bad problem with the fuel system.i turned the car in early by having it towed to the dealership after the last fuel smell in the cabin.i refused to drive that car again.i had my disabled wife drop me off to trade the car in to the dealership.the dealership would not work with me nor would honda america/acura.i traded in the 2013 acura ilx to replace it with a hyundai sonata, which the same dealership group had a dealership.the car was driven over to the hyundai dealership and i was told that i had to walk 2 blocks down the 6 lane road.i am very disappointed in both american honda and acura as they will not work with me whatsoever.i am an unhappy former acura ilx owner and wish this problem be investigated.

I had a very scary experience that made me feel like the car was in control of me. While accelerating onto the highway, i used the paddle shifters to upshift while i depressed the accelerator. The engine began to rev high and accelerate even with my foot off of the pedal. The display showing which gear it was in appeared to move up and down as the car jerked and lunged.the car would not slow down as expected with the brake pressed. I managed to get around the traffic ahead of me and i exited the highway at the next exit (about 1/4 mile total) and was able to slow the car down and turn the car off. When i turned the car back on, the engine was revving very high and the brake pedal was stuck down. The rpms were stuck at around 5000rpm.after calling for roadside assistance, the car restarted with no problem present.

The driver side seat has something popping out in the lower lumbar area while driving. This causes discomfort however it is difficult to replicate the issue but it happens every day while driving

The brake fail stopping the car while driving off the highway via exiting ramp, ramp traffic was bumper to bumper slow at the moment and my car just accelerate from a stop, the car slide ahead and hit the front car.

Pulling up to a red light and went to press the brakes and they gave out and hit the suv in front of me.

The electronic power steering went out while i was driving causing the steering to be very stiff and hard to control.

I went over a minor bump on a freeway, a route that i often take by myself, but this time i had 2 passengers with me. There was no hole on the freeway, just a very small incline. After driving over it, we literally shot up on our seats, the top of our heads hitting the roof. There was zero dampening effects. This was a scary event. I typically drive by myself going to work and could feel a very rough ride over minor road bumps. With passengers in tow, the ride over these bumps become unbearable.

It seemed that the tire had separated from the rimspontaneously, without any indication of an increased warning from the car's information / warning system.

When driving the car, its performance suffers noticeably from severely restricted acceleration at low speeds due to hesitation of engine. This occurs intermittently but keeps happening. Results in dangerous situations that leave the car unpredictably in a vulnerable position on the road, when, for example, it hesitates to successfully change lanes in the time-frame that other cars i have driven would normally complete a lane change smoothly and predictably. Dealer has inspected the car multiple times, and they agree this is a situation that can exist on this car, and insists that "this is the way the car is designed so it is not a flaw." a statement that is incredibly hard to believe, unless the company somehow feels that intentionally designing flaws into the car's performance is a desirable feature. Especially ones that are unsafe and dangerous.

I'm motion the wiper blades will either stop or start without prompting. The motor is dying . There is no replacement at this time which poses a threat to wipers not be accessible during driving in rain or snow causing little to no visibility.
