Consumer was inside ofparking lot andwent to startvehicle. Putfoot on brake, andshifted into reverse, and vehicle acellerated on its own. Vehicle hit a pole in the parking lot shopping center.then, when he tried to putvehicle in drive, engine rose up and took off. Put into park and vehicle was still going.dual airbags deployed.

Recurring failure of ignition connection with electrical fire in steering column and spontaneousshut off of engine on highway.investigationyieldsmodel-wide problem. Three attempts to repair failed.

Radiator got punctured by a less than a dime-sized object, through the lower front grill. The air conditioning parts were narrowly missed.there should be a better design to protectthe radiator from punctures from road debris. Fortunately, we made it home without overheating, since it apparently occuredjust before we came back home, without completely losing coolant.acura refused to cover it under warrantee, claiming the radiator was not defective. But it got punctured because of poor defective design of protecting it from ordinary road debris of normal highway driving on paved highways! the resultant failure of the radiator from road debris puncture because of inadequate protective design, should be covered under warrantee. Replacing the radiator, does not guarantee that it won't happen again!

Car serviced regularly by dealership.dealership solution for emissions test failure unhelpfull: filled tank with gas additive and high octane gas, run untill empty and then get emissions tested again.

Rear taillights have failed four times resulting in being stopped by the police for a safety violation. Dealer says acura aware of the problem and only corrective action is to replace the bulbs as needed. Safety issue is readily apparent.

The transmission began to skip gears very early on at about 5000 miles.even though the car was repaired by the dealership it still lacks power at times and does not always have passing power. I feel that the strain on the transmission also placed a huge strain on the engine and has caused problems with it.

Transmission slips, early upshifts, loss of power between 40 - 60mph.

Vehicle began experiencing transmission problems (slippage) and required full replacement within 10 months and less than 8000 miles of driving.

While stopped at a red light i was struck in the rear bya car going about 55mph.the entire rear section of the car was demolished as to be expected, however , both backrests of the front seats were knocked almost horizontally.if a passenger were seated in the rear of the car thebackrest of the front seats would have caused severe injury to the rear seated passengers.at the very leasttheir legs would have been broken, possibly severed. A fatal injurywas indeed possible because of the failure of the front seat to remain upright. I have photos that would demonstrate that escape from injury would have been impossible.s.

Car had been sitting for three months and when driven again, pronounced shimmy in front end. Brakes had to have the rotors resurfaced dealer did so, but i question having to do so at only 9,00 miles. Is the steel of the rotors defective?

Right front tire was cut 1sq inch on 6/12 and on 8/15 left rear was torn similer way( dot number: tire size: p205/60r16 )

Referenced gauges not visible during many daylight conditions;impossible to read mileage or see open door indicator. Manufacturer knows problem, but has no solution other than to replace that portion of the instrumet panel, which they decided not to do. Fault corrected in 2000 model year.

The vehicle has numerous chips of paint that have flaked off body that began 2 months after purchase.there does not seem to be protection such as clear coat to protect paint from road debris.all spots have gone through undercoating and are rusting already.this not only is happening along the front but also on top of the hood, roof and both sides of the vehicle.also have one large and 2 small chips that are rusting at the end of the hood where it meets the windshield.they are located on the rounded edge.no safety defect.

During daylight hours the section of the instrument panel containing the trip meter, odometer and the door and trunk monitor can not be seen due to design. Mjs
