On june 5, 2020 and june 14, 2020, respectively, two yokohama yk580 225/70r16 tires installed on my vehicle experienced violent tread separation. The tires were approximately 4 years old with less than 30,000 miles on them (the warranty is for 60,000 miles). One event occurred while driving at 70 mph. Both tread separation events caused damage to the vehicle, the repair of which was estimated at $3,195. More importantly, the events put the safety of my family at risk. Yokohama refused to assume responsibility due to the tires being unavailable for forensic examination. This was in spite of my providing photographs of both events clearly showing tread separation had occurred. I guess yokohama expected me to carry two damaged tires back from the vacation (and leave my family behind to not overload the vehicle?).

The contact owns a 2012 nissan rogue equipped with yokohama yk580 tires, size: 225/60/r17 (na). While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle started to vibrate. The contact continued driving and the vibration worsened. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed a brake check automobile center. The vehicle was taken to the center and the mechanic diagnosed that the front passenger tire had a bubble with tread separation and needed to be replaced. The tire was not repaired. The contact later took the tire to discount tires (located on 10331 broadway st, pearland tx 77584) and the front passenger tire was replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that she had gone over the mileage for the warranty and was supposed to replace the tire at 60,000 miles. The tire failure mileage was 75,389 and the vehicle failure mileage was 11,542.
