1.events leading up to the failure: on several occasions my car seem not accell properly-i would have my foot on gas pedal and it would not go any faster and the car made noise similar to overheating or fanbelt with vibration-but the car would slow down when applied brakes-after letting car drift for a moment the car jolted then seemed to be fine-also, a week prior to the failure there was a clicking noise coming from the general area of where there was a recal corrected on my car a few months ago-i'm not sure if that has any relevance-2. The failure that occured was: as i was trying to reach approx 50-60mph my vehicle failed to accelerate passed 40mph-i noticed that even when i pressed the gas pedal all the way down the car still did not accel pased 40mph then i noticed the lever on spedometer was not move from 40mph even while having gas pedal pressed all the way down-then i applied brakes and car did slow down but the lever on spedometer still was not moving from 40mph while breaks applied and car speed decreassing-there was a noise from engine similar to the sound of overheating or fanbelt and was vibrating- and then after letting it drift then it jolted and then seemed to be fine - that was the first time it happened with spedometer not moving and while i was on the highway trying to reach 50-60mph-consequence:as i was changing lanes-there was car behind me in the lane i changed into and that is when my car did not accel and stayed at 40mph-the car behind me almost hit into me after i changed lanes and i was heading toward traffic that i was needing to merge into at atleast 50mph 3.the problem has not been repaired-the dealership has not been able to simulate/diagnose the problem-my car is still there i am afraid to drive it-i returned the dealers car and left mine-they would not let me read the diagnostic papers before signing -i want to know if edr and the electonic throttle control system has been checked

Bought 4 yokohama tires had 3 blow outs.had 31950 when tires were put on.drove 1500 miles had first blowout. Replaced tire pay out pocket.had 2nd blow out in dec2010 car had 51000 has 3rd blow out jan 24 2011called yokohama told them they said my tires were on recall so wouldn't replaced.

Purchased 2010 toyota camry in 12/10/09. Car/tire was wobbling, felt that alignment was out. I took vehicle to dealer on 12/21/09. I was told that one of the tires was off. Dealer service just rebalanced rear passenger tire and inflated well beyond required psi's. Car continued to wobble, and drive with a distortion in ride and have to hold steering wheel to the left to keep the car straight.went back for service on 1/23/10.again, service admitted radial pull. They rebalance the wheels, and realigned the car and that didn't correct the problem.dealer put 4 new tires and realigned. Problem continued. Car is not sitting on the frame properly but service will not admit it. Took car to service again on 2/13/10.again a 4 wheel alignmentwas performed and didn't fix the problem.took to service again 3/8/10 complained that car isn't driving properly, i have to hold my steering wheel a certain way to keep the car driving straight.went for a test drive due to the distortion, wobbling of car and was told that toyota tires roll from left to right.incredible! the car accelerates when coming to a stop and steering wheel is turned to the left to go straight. One side of the car is higher than the other. When i asked what was done to the car, i was told that they made some adjustments and was dismissed. People driving behind me flash their lights at me and i've been stopped and told that my car is crooked . I can feel it and see the same thing.service inflated my tires to over 42psi's. That's too much air. This car is still drifting to the right or left depending upon which way the tires are moving from "left to right", in which i was told this is a toyota thing. Insulting! i feel this was done in order to mask whatever the real problem is. I tradeda 2004 camry that had the same issues.i had over 30 alignments, 4 brake jobs, a steering shaft replaced and 4 sets of tires in 4 yrs. I have documentation on that car. This car is doing the same thing. Feel unsafe.

Here we go again. Front brake problems at 18,000 miles on a 2008 grand caravan. Then the recall, now the rear brakes at 35k.after discussion with the service manager he stated the rear brakes could wear out at 8k miles(r u kidding me) some service manager. Back brakes should last at least 40-50k when not towing.the rear brake calibers and pads have the same defects as the front. I changed the rear pads and 1 glide was missing and that pad was worn alot more than the other 3. Thanks dodge, great vehicle. Also who was the genius that came up with the 225 65 16 tire size, nice job.

The contact owns a 2014 dodge grand caravan equipped with yokohama avid tires, size: s33 225/65/r17 (na). Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the front driver and passenger tires were worn halfway. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was confirmed that the tires were worn down halfway. The contact was informed that this was abnormal wearing with this specific brand of tire. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The dot number was unknown. The vehicle and tire failure mileage was 6,143. Updated 09/06/16*lj

Tiers are yokohama p225/40r18 88vthis vehicle now has slightly more than 8,000 miles and has only been driven over local roads under normal operating conditions and speeds. A couple of weeks ago, while getting gas, i noticed a knot/bulge developing on front driver's side sidewall. The integrity of the tire was compromised so i contacted the dealership and arranged to have the tire replaced. I can produce the dealership repair bill upon request. Yesterday while taking my wife to an appointment, i noticed aknot/bulge developing on rear driver's side sidewall requiring another trip to the dealership and another tire replacement.i can take a photo of bulge in rear tire or have dealership preserve the tire if you would like it for your investigation of my complaint. Fortunately i have the resources to have the tires repaired. In my case the bulges appeared in the sidewall visible to me. I knew that integrity of the tire was compromised and immediate action was necessary.i am more than 60 years old. I have owned several new cars and this is the first time i have experienced this.it is possible that other motorists encountering the same problem may not have the resources to purchase multiple replacement tires. It is also possible that the bulge might appear on the backside of the sidewall where it would not be noticed. It is possible that another motorist might not recognize the integrity of the tire was compromised and that their life and the lives of others were potentially at risk.

Yokohama tire avid ascend 185/55r-16 side wall has developed sidewall bulge and potential for catastrophic failure after minor bump against curb.this occurred twice on same vehicle within a 12 month period.recent event reported below was on a tire with less than 15k miles.

Tires worn out after only 30,000 miles and rotated often.

Purchased yokohama avid ascend tire in april 2013 based on 80000 mile tread warranty.i noticed what looked like dry rot cracking and tires vibrated at highway speed.brought to tire dealer. They rebalanced tires and said to come back if condition got worse.drove about 400 miles to beach and back.on way back home vibration came back.noticed an actual split about 1/8 inch where tread meets the sidewall.tire dealer replaced two tires on a prorated basis according to yokohama.front tires also exhibited far more pronounced wear than rears despite proper inflation.not happy that i had to pay anything due to manufacturing defect but i was not going to risk an actual blowout.

3 miles from home the front tire on our mazda3 came apart in 3 fullpieces, two side walls and the center, causing $1800 in damage. I returned the tire toyokohama tire corp. Because of the damage, they said it was not the tires fault, they called it a run flat and that they would not pay for the damages. So while the car wasat the body shop i had four new tires installed ,not yokohamatires.also the adjuster for my insurance company, said that he never seen a tire separate like that.

Since i purchased a 2011 toyota prius in december 2011 i have had to replace 2 irreparable original equipment yokohama avis s33 tires due to side wall damage. I am concerned that the side walls are not strong enough to resist potential hazards. This is part of yokohama case #[xxx] which included other concerns. I have rarely had a sidewall problem and never a flat tire with new tires. The first occurred at about 300 miles of use the next at 8300 miles, the approximate incident date.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Defective valve stem on yoko avid trz-item # yh03720655t bought at merchant's tire.the valve stem cracked at the base causing the tire to go flat. The tire bead was ruined by the time i pulled over.

Every time when the weather is either too cold or hot i get a low air pressure in my tires. To fix the every day problemof the lost of air i bought an air pump to fill my tires, chrysler town & country touring warranty 2008 does not cover the manufacturer defect. I took my car to get it fix and they were charging fort he sensor for the tires close to $200 dollars. It's already my second sensor that the expense comes out of my pocket and an every day problem.

Crack in tire sidewall. No exterior damage. Tire guy said problem in manufacture.

The tires that came with my 08 chrysler town and country are failing and have been told by the dealer that they need to be replaced with only 27,000 miles on them.

Tire valves on all 4 tires failed within a 2 month period. Tires were yokohama avid t4 and were fitted by prestige toyota on december 9, 2006.tire 1 failed on june 24th 2008 on garden state parkway, nj. Tire was not recoverable due to us having to drive almost 1 mile on the tire to get to a safe area to pull over. It was replaced that day mavis discount tires in nanuet ny.tire 2 failed on july 10 on the george washington bridge in nj. As we had to drive over the bridge to safely pull over the tire was not recoverable. It was replaced next day by mavis discount tires in nanuet ny. Technician said tire failed due to broken valve.tire 3 failed on august 24 in ridgewood nj after driving from philadelphia to nyc. Tire was recoverable and examined by technician at fort lee tire center on august 25th. Technician observed broken valve. Valve was replaced and tire reinflated. Technician also inspected tire 4 (the last remaining good tire). By slightly pressing on the valve it came apart and the tire deflated. Technician replaced valve immediately.

I have owned a set of yokohama avids for the past 2 years and roughly 20,000 miles.in that time i have had 3 side wall failures.one from a pot hole, one from a raised man hole cover and one from a nail going through the sidewall.all three tires were completely destroyed.in 24 years of driving i have only had this happen these 3 times.the original set of tires were michelin's and there were no issues with side wall failures in over 50,000 miles.

2010 mazda 3excessive tire wear.bought car new in oct 2009.may 7th 2010 the car has 18,000 miles on it and the rear tires are down to the steel belts.my net searching shows this is a very common problem.how a car can have only 18,000 miles on it and have dangerously worn tires is beyond belief.the dealership considers this "normal on mazda 3's".tires were well maintained with tire pressure by me.my car has never been in an accident or hit a significant road hazard.car is used for mostly straight line highway driving.

The contact owns a 1999 dodge grand caravan (na) equipped with yokahama, avid touring tires, size 215/65/r15. While driving at highway speeds, the contact stated that the driver side tire suddenly blew out. After stopping and inspecting the tire, he noticed that it was the sidewall that had blown. The tire had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000. The vin was unavailable.

2 flat tires, one on aug 2 and one on aug 6, 2008.cause of both was a failure of a rubber tire valve stem.both failures occurred in rear tires. After failure, rapid loss of pressure in tire with a complete flat tire within 1 to 3 minutesno injuries occurred.

The contact owns a 2010 toyota prius with yokohama avid tires , line size: 195/65/r15. The contact stated that the front and rear driver and passenger sire tires were bald. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tires were not replaced. The approximate failure mileage of the tires was 14,500. The vehicle failure mileage was 16,500.

Toyota prius 2010:when the car hits a bump in the road it will accelerate so fast by itself which can be very dangerous and fatal. It can highly cause an accident if the driver cannot step on the brakes in time to stop the car acceleration. I went to my local toyota dealer here in queens new york and to my surprise the rep said" i have never heard of that complaint" and did not pursue the matter at all. Another safety concern is that i hit a small pothole and the whole tire was damaged on my brand new 2010 prius which i have been driving for barely two months. I am very concerned about these safety problems and do not really know where to start getting assistance. Thank you very much.

Yokohama avid trz s316 31631 tires p255/55r-18 97t bswwith 13,000 miles on 2008 acura rdx.tires purchased 10-30-2010 on 4-12-2011, while driving on freeway at 60mph, experienced sudden loss of tire pressure on right rear tire.pulled off of freeway and removed tire.could not find any cause for loss of tire pressure.took wheel to air supply and re-pressurized tire to 35 psi.made close examination to find cause of pressure loss and discovered no puncture, no object in tire, no leaks.a bubble/blister was observed on inside tire next to rim .carried fully pressurizedtire to dealer (discount tire, arlington, tx)pointed out blister to tech, he blamed road hazard, says probably hit a pothole.while the tire was being replaced, i questioned the counterman as to why the sudden loss of pressure and he informed me that the tire had a large puncture.i asked to see it and sure enough, a 1/8 to 1/4 inch puncture was in the middle of the tire!another tech actually volunteered that he had heard air hissing from the tire when he took it out of my trunk!why would a tire dealer discount the inside wall blister/bubble as a possiblecause of tire failure and thenpuncture the tire on purpose to claim as the cause of tire failure?

The contact owns a 2010 dodge grand caravan with yokohama avid s33 225/65/ 16 tires. The contact stated while driving at 60 mph, the front passenger tire blew causing the contact to crash into a guard rail. He was not injured. A police report was available. The police officer who arrived at the scene advised that the blow out was caused by an equipment failure. The manufacturer was not contacted in regards to the failure. The failure mileage was 2,500.

Tire faillure, sidewall separation driving approximately 60-65 mph on highway.i have taken pictures of failed tire that can be emailed if requested.

The contact owns a 2006 toyota prius equipped with yokohama avid tires, size: 185/65r/15. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the rear passenger's side tire blew due to a road hazard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was advised to the contact that the tire tread was cracked. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred on three different occasions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 80,000.

Yokohama avid trz 205/65r15 tires for my 2002 honda accord:i purchased a set of these tires 3 years ago as they were 80,000 mile tires (as in long-lasting).at 32,000 miles, they were almost completely bald.the mechanic called and got a $30 discount on the tires for replacement, however, considering the initial cost this is unacceptable.yokohama should not be allowed to list tires as 80,000 miles of wear when, in fact, they are bald at 32,000 miles (and i am an older experienced driver, not a hot-rodder or excessive speeder.)

Hit small pot hole which other cars were driving over with no failures. I called subaru roadside assistance. They put donut flat on.

When you go over a bump in the road at a slow speed the tire slips slightly on the road bed. Yokohama representative says they have had no complaints (telephone conversation, 5/9/12, part of their case #[xxx]). I found the tire is the problem while searching online comments about the tire.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I bought 4 yokohama tires avid p235/65/r16.within 1 month, as i was driving down the road, one of the tires blew out causing my vehicle to veer into a curb.i put in a claim with yokohama and they denied my claim - even though i had a witness and the repair station said it was definitely a blow out and put it on the repair invoice.another one of the tires had a very large bubble in it.obviously the tires were defective and neither mr. Tire nor yokohama will resolve this issue.

We purchased a 2010 dodge grand caravan in july of this year.it has been a dry summer here in northeastern pa and we have not driven much under wet conditions.approximately two weeks ago my wife and i were going out to dinner and the roads were wet from a small amount of rain.everytime we started from a stop sign or traffic light the tires would spin before they would gain traction on the pavement.i was shocked that this was happening, and my wife stated it happened to her all the time.this is not a fault of ours as this has never happened previously with any tires we have had on any of our past vehicles.the vehicle does not have additional horse power as the engine is the same as the engine in the caravan that we traded for this caravan.when we contacted chrysler concerning this problem their response was it is not our problem, it is the tire manufacturer's problem.but chrysler is the one who selected this brand of tires to be placed on this new vehicle. Also, when looking up information on yokohama tires on the internet, i came across a web site that contained 8 pages of complaints about yokohama tires.i contacted the selling dealer wotor world of wilkes barre, pa.and they said they would make an appointment for us with the tire dealer when he was at the dealership.it has been more than two weeks and still no word of an appointment.and the tire dealer is less than 5 miles from the auto dealer.the tires are yokohama model avid s33 the vehicle vin is [xxx] and my chrysler complaint # is 19735130.while working on this complaint the selling dealer finally returned our call that we placed today and now they are trying to absolve themselves for any responsibility to be of assistance in handling this problem.at this point we do not know what else to do. We are senior citizens and are afraid to operate the vehicle under wet road conditions.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My wife was driving to work this morning when she had a tire blowout on the highway going 60mph.i met up with her to put the spare on and i was expecting a nail or something in the tire. When i inspected the tire i was surprised to notice a severe blowout on the rear passenger tire on the inside side wall of the tire from the tread to the rim. This is concerning to me because we still had 40,000 miles left on the warranty and we still have the same brand/size on the other tires. I am worried that this may happen on the other tires. The brand of tire is yokohama avid trz size: p205/55r16 89t. I know this tire is not on the recall list, but i am suspect of this tire after this incident.

The contact owns a 2002 honda civic with yokohama trz avid tires, line size p225/60r/16. The contact stated while driving 35 mph the vehicle started to jerk and the tires started to make a loud noise. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who was unable to determine why the failure was occurring but stated that the tires were not safe and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The tires were replaced. The dot or vin were not available. The failure and current mileage was 106,000.

Tire bubble, 2" wide, 2" long, 1/2" high

I had a problem withmy right rear tire where my tire ripped apart while on the highway. In the events that led to this incident my car displayed a low tire pressure warning on my car for about two days. Little did i know that the tire would explode while driving.the consequences of this tire failure after only 3 months after buying my car with the manufacturers tires that came with the car i paid $200 to get that tire repaired. Nothing was done by the company to compensate for the issue.i wanted to know what yokohama can do to fix my problem.

The tire valve stem made of a single piece of aluminum corrodes at the base of the threads at the end of the plastic cap. This leads to the sudden release of air and can happen while driving orwhen handling the tire valve, e.g. When adding air to the tire. This has now happened to me twice, once while i was driving, and once soon after adding air to the tire. The tire was damaged in the first incident and had to be replaced. The second time i found the valve piece hanging inside the cap a week after i had added air to the tires. Upon continued inspection of these valve stems i have found another one that is cracked.i am an engineer and up till recently was in the automotive industry. The design of the valve and material selection or manufacturing is flawed. This vehicle is used by my wife to carry my kids and their friends. I will not replace this flawed design with another equally flawed replacement and have gone to using non-tpms valves that utilize a flexible rubber stem and threaded brass end.i am willing to go back to a tpms valve if the design is corrected. The best thing would be to have chrysler recall and repair the vehicle but it seems they are either waiting for a solution to fall form the sky or for nhtsa to force this on them.i have an old part that is available.

First incident, traveling md 4 when tire indicator came on dash board (may 2014) back passenger tire had huge bulge at rim of hubcap with hissing sound due to escaping air (4 31816 215/60r16 yoko avid touring -s dot ccf1 f2712 purchased august 2013). Tire replaced at no cost to me due to no evident of damage inside the tire, thus a "defect" according to service tech. December 24, 2014 traveling on interstate 97 s; front passenger tire blew out without warning; abs system slowed car down was able to move from second lanes to right shoulder without incident. Tire has about a 3-inch rip from rim up. With both tires, i was asked what did i hit and both times the answer was nothing. This is the second of four tires to go bad in a little over one year. I now feel the other two tires are ticking time bombs and my family and i may not be so fortunate the next time this happens.

The contact owns a 2000 acura tl with yokohama avid tires, size: 205/60/r16. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, she noticed a vibration from the car. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that manufacturing defect lead to a knot in the front passenger's side tire. The tire was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The vin was not available. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 247,000 and the tire failure mileage was 400.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be diagnosed. The tires were not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The vin, dot number, and tire failure mileage were not available. The vehicle failure mileage was 45,000.

In late 2007 my husband and i bought tires for my 2000 pontiac grand prix.we purchased p225/60r16 yokohama avid touring.since our purchase i have had numerous unresolved problems.with less than 30,000 miles on these tires, they have begun to dry rot or crack around the rim.i have tried to contact the sotre where i purchase these tires, they have been of no help.i also have had numerous incidents where the tires fail to hold air.i doubt very seriously my car will ever drive on a set of yokohamas ever again. *ks*

New yokohama avid tire (with less than 5,250 miles) blew up on the road. Only the rim remained. Size: 205/55r16 91h. Dot 408k6hc1019.

Yokahama avid tire(185-65-rl15, ccly 84p 2013x3 ,84p 3613x1) on the frontpassenger side blew out on aug. 12, 2015 forcing me onto the shoulder. It was 4;00 pm and the road was crowded. If the left tire had blown out there would have been a major accident. I immediately replaced the tire with another brand. And since i have no storage, the tire dealer disposed of the tire.on august 20, i had to replace the rear passenger tire because i noticed a quarter sized bubble on the sidewall. I have a photo of that bubble and copies of the replacement tire bills.all four tires were installed 12/19/2013 at the auto dealer. At that time the car had 32,228 miles. When the first tire blew the speedometer read 38,992 miles ( 6,644 miles), the second tire was replaced after being driven another 50 miles with a different brand and also disposed of. The remaining yokahama tires were placed on the rear of the vehicle.i spoke with a yokahama representative who said i needed the tires to proceed with an investigation. He said there was nothing else i could do..since this tire defect could have had disasterous consequences. I would like an investigation and information regarding the safety of yokahama tires. Any action you can take on behalf of myself and other motorists would be appreciated.any further information including the photo and receipts i will be pleased to share with you at your request.looking forward to your response.

On june 18, 2010 i had an accident that i believe was caused by a tire failure. No other vehicles were involved in this accident and there were no injuries. The vehicle was declared a total loss by my insurance company.on june 18, 2010 at approximately 6:00pm i was driving on the pennsylvania turnpike. My vehicle was headed west somewhere between the donegal exit and the new stanton exit of the turnpike. The weather conditions were what i consider ideal driving conditions. I was in the right lane of the two lane roadway and as i was approaching a moderate curve in the roadway my vehicle pulled severely to the left, i attempted to control the vehicle by using the steering wheel and moderate pressure on the brakes. No amount of control i tried to exert was of any value and within seconds my vehicle had struck the jersey barrier on the left side of the highway and spun into a position against the right jersey barrier facing traffic. I would like to add here that i had owned and driven this vehicle for over 10 years and approaching 75,000 miles, i was completely accustomed to maintaining control of this vehicle even while driving under the worst of conditions at highway speeds.at the time of the accident my vehicle was equipped with four p215/60r15 93t yokahama avid tour s s319 bw serial no. M6orplhr1410 tires. These tires were purchased and mounted on june 15, 2010 and had approximately 150 miles on them. The immediate and severe loss of the control i experienced is the basis for my opinion that one of these tires failed catastrophically to cause this accident. My auto insurance company has researched the matter and found that there were nomanufacturer recalls, investigations, or technical service bulletins relating to the conditions described. I urged them to make a physical inspection of the vehicle to determine if the tires or any other defect of the vehicle could have caused the loss of control, but they were unwilling to do so.updated ivoq 09/22/10updated 10/2811

I have a 2003 dodge neon with yokohama tires that are 185/60/15. I bought 4 tires and in a month in a half 2 of them both one that was a left front at highway speed the tire blew out the sidewalls. The other one that was on the rear left blew out 3 weeks earlier at highway seeds the sidewalls. I personally has to pay out of pocket to correct the problem.

Tire seemed out of balance at narrow range of speeds (60-65mph), but smooth at 68mph for months; recently noticed vehicle rocking when cold and at low speeds; today saw an outward bulge in rear tire tread (directionally outward from axle).am seeking a replacement tire before tread separation.

Warning for tire signal came on dash indicating a problem with tire pressure (again).i went to a local tire dealer for air and pressure check only to be advised that all 4 of my yokohama tires hat one inch plus of dry rot.these tires are about one year old, have approx. 35,000 miles on them and my vehicle has an outstanding service record.copies of receipts show that every 40,000 miles i purchased new tires.all work and all part purchases have been done 100% at honda dealer-jack matia in elyria, ohio.the only service performed out of the dealer is twice a year detail service done at a reputable detail shop in westlake, ohio.upon my contacting the dealer and visiting them, they could not explain how this could be missed and never witnessed "dry rot".the return/credit process with the dealer and tire rack (honda's distributor) was an insult on top of having to purchase brand new tires and my choice, a different brand.i expressed my disappointment and anger to the general manager at the dealership and was insulted.research on my end indicates that there is in fact documentation about the tires and dry rot and the i believe the dealer is just as accountable for the tires since they sold them and installed them for me and should have seen what is one inch and half on all of the tires.pictures are available.no harm came to me or anyone else.however, i feel i am due compensation/refund for this purchase and this matter should be investigated to insure that no harm comes to anyone else that might have yokohama tires.

While driving my 3 week old 2011 toyoya prius with 1700 miles on the odometer on the freeway driving my daughter back to school my rear passenger side yokohama avid tire experienced a blowout. After successfully maneuvering the car off of the freeway and to a safe location i installed the spare donut and then inspected the tire. The inside sidewall burst open and no road hazard was present. I filed a claim with yokohama tires and they had me have the tire inspected by discount tire in scottsdale, az. Their inspection suggested a manufacturers defect since they could not locate any punctures or other type of road hazard. At the time of the blowout i was 75 miles from flagstaff, az, my final destination on a sunday late afternoon and could not locate an open tire dealer or toyota dealer that was open so i continuedon the donut at 50 mph to flagstaff and located an open sears that had the right size replacement tire by another manufacturer. I had sears inspect the blown out tire and the rest of the tires and they concluded that the tire was defective based on their observations. I requested that yokohama professionally inspect the tire local to me so that i can carry it in as opposed to shipping it to them. Please let me know your thoughts and if there is anything else that i should do to document this issue.**please not that this occurred on a 2011 toyota prius*** there was no prius model listed under 2011 toyota models....please correct.

Yokohama , avid, p235/45r17,dot ehx8bem0803. Consumer stated the tires wore out just on regular wear and tear . The tires were 9 months old with less than 10,000 miles.

Low tire pressure comes on constantly, first they found a wire on the right back tier, i had a new tier put on, then sensor came back on they found that the sensor was leaking from the new tire had that fix, went back 4 days later they found the sensor leaking again. Had that repair. I have pictures on my cell phone when sensor light turns on. Dates 10-15-10, 10-18-10, 10-23-10,10-27-10, 10-28-10, 10-29-10, 11-05-10. I bought the car in october 2009 problem started in april 2010. The manager at the shop said the sensor will probably need air again, he did not give me much hope!

Tire pressure and regulating systems - i own a 2010 mazda 3 automatic(14,542 miles) --also purchased just over a yr ago. I have now had "three" valve stems that have broken; with slow leaks and flat tires.the last one leaving me stranded for 2 hrs until help arrived.this also happened 2 days after i had my car in for service for another tire with a "valve" stem replacement--costing me $198.00. Also told there is no recall and it appears mazda having problems now with this for a few years.also thought it funny that when dealership completing my papers they commented that they just completed exact same papers for car before mine !!!! i am a cautious driver and i know my wheel/tires where not damaged and that was the cause of the valve stem.i now have 3 new valves stems thru my cost ---just waiting for last one to go and then will see how long the "newer" ones last. Have a feeling this will be an ongoing problem.at least dealership changed the one today as a good will free of charge.

I bought a set of yokohama tires for my 1999 chrysler 300m in july 2006.we have several problems with these tires not holding air.finally, now, the right front tire blew 2 half dollar size holes in the sidewall of the tire for no apparent reason.we were able to keep the vehicle on the road as to not cause further damage.we have taken the vehicle to tires plus for the previous problems as well as this blowout.we will obviously be replacing all four tires and will not be buying this brand again.

While driving at highway speeds, the contact stated that the driver side tire suddenly blew out. After stopping and inspecting the tire, he noticed that it was the sidewall that had blown. The tire had not been inspected or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000. The vin was unavailable.

I have owned a set of yokohama avids for the past 2 years and roughly 20,000 miles.in that time i have had 3 side wall failures.one from a pot hole, one from a raised man hole cover and one from a nail going through the sidewall.all three tires were completely destroyed.in 24 years of driving i have only had this happen these 3 times.the original set of tires were michelin's and there were no issues with side wall failures in over 50,000 miles.

Tire faillure, sidewall separation driving approximately 60-65 mph on highway.i have taken pictures of failed tire that can be emailed if requested.

I had a blowout at highway speeds due to a failed valve stem in my rear left tire.the tire was ruined by riding on the rim to exit the highway.

Yokohama tire avid ascend 185/55r-16 side wall has developed sidewall bulge and potential for catastrophic failure after minor bump against curb.this occurred twice on same vehicle within a 12 month period.recent event reported below was on a tire with less than 15k miles.

The tires that came with my 08 chrysler town and country are failing and have been told by the dealer that they need to be replaced with only 27,000 miles on them.

Summary: failure of 3 tires on vehicle.i purchased a second set of tires, yokohama, for my 1995 bonneville after having the original set for some time. Soon thereafter, two tires failed. The steel belts had separated on them. The dealership replaced them under warranty. Approximately two months or so later, the third tire failed. This failure, unlike the first two, caused substantial damage to my vehicle. The dealership advised i not replace this one under warranty, due to the damage, & that i should contact the manufacturer. Upon doing so, including a recount of maintenance on the vehicle, tires, and the previous failures, the manufacturer insisted the failures were my fault. One failure ok, two, somethings not right. Three failures from the same set of tires make me think there may be a problem.

The contact owns a 2016 dodge caravan equipped with yokohama avid s33 tires, size: 225/65r17. While the vehicle was parked, the contact observed that the front driver and passenger side tire threads began to separate. The vehicle was taken to an independent tire shop where it was diagnosed that the tires needed to be replaced. The tire manufacturer informed the contact that the tires were made to last between 2,500-30,000 miles. No further assistance was provided. The dot number was unknown. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 28,100.

Defective valve stem on yoko avid trz-item # yh03720655t bought at merchant's tire.the valve stem cracked at the base causing the tire to go flat. The tire bead was ruined by the time i pulled over.

I had a blowout at highway speeds due to a failed valve stem in my rear left tire.the tire was ruined by riding on the rim to exit the highway.

*ks*
