Steering gear is wrong for this model, and is causing wear and tear ontires.dealership is aware of problem.

2001 mercury sable taken in for tire rotation and balance. When the rear tires were removed, mechanic noticed that both coil springs were broken at base. He said i was lucky in that the breaks were to the center of the car and not towards the tire side, which would have blown the tire. The left rear tire would not balance, it wobbled, resulting in purchasing a new tire. Cost to repair, $550.00. I am no metallurgist, but looking at the breaks i'd say that it looks like poor heat treatment of the metal coil that caused the breaks. Searching the internet revealed numerous complaints regarding 2001 taurus for same coil breaking problem (same body as sable). Why is there no recall by ford torectify this problem?. Because in this country there has to be serious injury or death before any one reacts. How pathetic is that!.

I purchased 4 uniroyal long touring p215/60r16 tires from wal-mart. At 5,000 miles i had the tires rotated at wal-mart. After rotating the tires, the next day there was a tremendous vibration while driving. Wal-mart says there are flat spots in the tire tread on all four tires and this was caused by alignment and suspension. Wal-mart manager said to have alignment and suspension checked and then they would replace warranted tires. Alignment and suspension checked and found to be in order. Wal-mart manager refuses to change tire. Three tire shops have said the problem is a manufacture defect in tires, not alignment or suspension.i also learned wal-mart placed three different d.o.t. Number tires on my car. D.o.t. Numbers y9xbvnuu1509/ 2809 and (2) 2909.

I am seeing a pattern of severe dry rot stress cracks in all, nearly new (less than 12 months old) michelin and uniroyal tires in the tread area first then later the sidewalls, and even goodyear tires in just 1-2 years. All these tires came from walmart. I have them on 6 vehicles, all with the same problems. I have been buying tires for over 38 years, and never had this problem till the last few years. This needs to be investigated and dealt with quickly. I am a degreed chemical engineer and i do all my own auto repairs, even major rebuilds, in other words i am very experienced and i see a very dangerous safety and consumer issue here!!!!

Concerning tread separation on uniroyal liberator a/t lt 265/75r16 tire purchased from walmart on 092007,approx. 36,000 miles on tire.used on 2001 ford f-250,diesel, rear wheel drive. The tire has dot marking as follows: dot bfw8 c62u 0807, e range rated. On march 23 2011 while driving at 65 mph i felt bad vibration and when safe, pulled off roadway to find the right rear tire to have a bulge on tread and side wall distortion. I have had this same failure from cooper tires which caused loss of control and destruction to quarter panel.i changed the tire and later (03302011) contacted uniroyal who opened a file based on my phone number([xxx]). Uniroyal claims no recall nor do they acknowledge any similar complaints on this tire.i have 3 of these tires and have safety concerns on the 2-remaining tires in use.at times i pull an rv or a boatand must have an assurance that these tires will be safe to use.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I had another uniroyal liberator tire (265/75/16 e-rated, light truck tire) failure. Both tires failed within one thousand miles of each other and in the same exact way. I filed a complaint with nhtsa on the first tire approx. 2-months ago.both tires at about 35 to 36,000 miles, while driving atspeeds approaching 65 mph formed a balloon on top of the tread causing an imbalance.after changing the tire, it exploded in the bed of my truck. It was obvious to me that a tread separation had occurred. One could see the smoothareas where the tread had separated from the belt carcass versus the area where the tread pulled away when it exploded. These uniroyal liberators should be recalled because of how quickly this failure occurs. Both tires had plenty of tread and were run within the proper pressure ranges (70 to 80 psi).i have sent uniroyal email complaints concerning these tires. I have one remaining on my truck that will be replaced because i know it will also fail any moment. Please do what you can to get these tires off the market. The tires date of manufacture was 14th week of 2007.

I noticed my tire kept going flat and when i looked at it the tread was split all around the circumference of the tire, the tire is a uniroyal liberator a/t 225 75 r15.

The contact owns a 1991 toyota pickup.the vehicle has uniroyal mohave (na) tires, size p205/55/r15 (na).the contact noticed that the tread began separating from all four tires.on two occasions, the tire completely blew out.during the first incident, while driving approximately 60 mph, the rear driver's side tire blew out and damaged the vehicle.during the second incident, the contact felt that his vehicle was driving extremely rough.he took the vehicle to the dealer and they rotated the tires.they also discovered that the tread had abnormal lesions.the contact's insurance company inspected the tires and concluded that they were manufactured defectively.the manufacturer has not been notified.the contact still has possession of the tires.the vin and mileages were unknown.

3 uniroyal 215 60r 16 94t dot# y9x8vnuu 4110 have developed a small flat spot on inside of tires approximately 2 inches from outside of tire towards middle of tire. Looks to me like the beginning of separation.these tires have a 80000 mile warranty. Tires now have about 25000 to25500miles on them this date. Tires have been rotated at every 5000 miles. Air pressure has been kept a consistent 40lbs.one tire on vehicle is in fine shape but with a different dot number which isy9x8 un11 4910. Called wal-mart and they said they need to see tires. They also said they don't carry that tire anymore1. I'm very curious why? will take car down to them this week and see what they have to say.

While driving home from north carolina in my 2500 dodge ram one of my uniroyal tires separated damaging the rear driver side fender. This is the second time i have had a catastrophic failure with the liberator lt26575r16e. The fist time walmart replaced the tire and repaired the fender. Their should be a recall on this tire before someone dies.

The contact owns 2000 honda civic equipped with uniroyal tires size p205/55/r16 (n/a). While traveling 55 mph the contact noticed that the front passenger side tire had exploded without warning. The tire was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the failure was due to dry rot. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 4000.

Uniroyaltire side wall crackslt 235 75r15 - no failure- justcrack.all 4 of my tires had a side wall crackthe entire diameter of the tire about 3 inches down on the side wall . I noticed the crack on the inside as well so it appears the tires had some issue. I had never applied tire foam cleaner(armor all tirefoam prior ) but one time this last week i did apply some and found the crack. Looking under the 1991 ford explorer 4x4 i did see the same issue on the inside of a front tire as well...i never applied any armor all type cleaner on the inside either. Uniroyal factory phone support blamed me of applying tire cleaner which ruins tires and so did the walmart tire store staff . I never applied anything as this is an older vehicle which and no pr or show appeal.walmart replaced all 4 tires on 10-25-09 but the tire pressure was not 35 psi its was around 43 according to my gage..the tires are rated for 50psi.walmart charged the problem to my warranty and then wanted to charge again for a new warranty. This was a tire factory problem as both side of the tires had a crack not a field road hazard issue. Kingman az has temp ranges from 110 in july to 9 degrees in winter...this may be factor.

We were returning home and pulling our rv when the right rear tire shed allthesurface cover but did not lose it's air and almost caused us to crash. The tire is a uniroyal lt 265-75-r16 made by michlin. I now have 2500.00 in truck damages and no recourse.

Spare tire exploded while in side compartment. Two years ago the spare tire exploded.the consumer replaced it with a used spare because he was unable to locate a new spare.the used spare was placed in the spare tire compartment where it later blewout.the consumer has the tire in his possession.

I experienced an unexplainable vibration in my vehicle 2 days prior to my tire( uniroyal radial trail king a/t 31-10.50/r15) havinga tread separation/blowout on my truck. When attempting to search for wherei could obtain a replacement , i found a recall ( nhtsa campaign id # 91t001000) for these tires. I contacted the manufacturer uniroyal who instructed me to go to sears & roebuck automotive. I was then informed by sears that theydo not deal in uniroyal tires and could not help me. I then re-contacted uniroyal and was told that they could not find this recall even though i could supply them with the nhtsa campaign id. I was then told that it was irrelevant because my tires are over 6 yrs old anyway( * these tires werestored in like "new" condition, dew to my deployment in the military). Iexperienced this blowout within only a few hundred miles after remounting them( this can be told by the extreme amount of tread that is on the tires , regardless of there manufacture date. This vehicle still has three more of these tires on it and i am concerned that this could happen again. This was not a simple flat tire, this tire exploded and tread separated similar to how a tractor trailer tire violently blows. These are not the original tires that came on this truck , my complaint is against uniroyal not the car manufacturer.

Chevrolet s-102tires went bad with only 17,700 miles on them tow in has been off since we have had the vehicle.

Punctured tireneeded to be replaced, tire was replaced. The damaged tire had excessive tread wear in relation to the miles driven on car.the figures showed the tire was wearing3-1 exp: uniroyal touring track,p205/60r15-90h with 60,000 mile tread wear. 10/32nd tread depth new. I bought this tire on 03/07/07,and was damaged on 05/14/07= 70 days old. Bought tire from wal-mart, brunswick, ga 31520. Took tire to same on 05/14/07. Tire showed 4/32nds wore off of tread. This = 24,000 miles of wear at 6,000 mile per 1/32nd of tread. Travel no more then 100 miles per day at 68 days and 1 round trip of 1,500 miles = total of8,300 miles of travel on car. As i said 3-1 wear of tread.mfg will not ajust prorated cost of new tire nor will wal-mart. New tire should have been replaced free but coat me prorate of $49.00.

Tl - while driving 60 mph, the vehicle hit debris in the road causing complete tire tread separation on the passenger rear tire.all four tires were replaced may 2006 due to driver's front tire having had tread separation.the failure mileage on the tire was unknown.the tire has not been replaced.the current mileage on the vehicle is 100,000.there were no injuries. The engine size is unknown. Kbthe consumer provided invoices for the repair. Updated 06/14/07
