The contact owns a 2002 chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the tires were being rotated when the technician stated that the rear strut chamber was out of alignment, causing the interior sides of the rear tires to wear excessively. The contact was concerned that the tires may blow out and decided to have the tires replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000. On a 65,000 mile tire repair rear strut holes camber rods etc. Updated 10/07/2011 *ln

Automobile developed a thumping in the steering and the tire was found to have abroken tread belt.it could be plainly seen in the lateral rippling of the tread.dealer would not replace the tire but wanted to sell a new set.no cutting or other damage found in tread at point of break.suspect a tire defect.

Cracks in sidewall found at 1-2 inches above bead line circumference in a set of four uniroyal tiger paw touring 215/65r17 99t m+s tires purchased march 2013 and removed september 2105 at 25,000 miles. Taken out of service to prevent imminent blowout, but saved tires for posterity. Tread still excellent. Cracks noted only on one side of sidewall, not both, so easy to miss if on interior facing sidewall.

New tires 90 days old approx. 1,000 - 1,500 miles used.traveling westbound rte. 50 maryland at 62-65 mph hov lane.between bowie exit rte 301 and exits for rtes 495/95, thread on passenger side front tire completely separated from sidewalls.sidewalls remained on tire rim but thread was completely detached from sidewalls. Able to pull into grassy shoulder area, county police immediately came on the scene followed by sha vehicle assistance crews.incident caused rain reflector to detach from vehicle.pictures of tire and rim are available.contacting tire dealer this day for resolution.
