On 9/17/03 i had four p205/60r15 uniroyal tour tr tires placed on my 2001 nissan altima. Within one week two were replaced because of vibration. @ two weeks ago i had the tires rotated. The rear tires were placed on the front. Immediately vibration and pulling to the right was noticed. Again two new tires were placed on the vehicle. Again the pull to the right. The front tires were moved to opposite sides and the pull was to the left. A new tire was placed on the vehicle and it stills pull to the left. The car is in alignment. I would think there is a defect in these tires. I have notified uniroyal of the same by email.

I have had two uniroyal tiger paw tires blowout while my car was being driven on the interstate. The blowouts occurred approximately 6 weeks apart with about 10,000 miles on the tires.when the first tire blewout my daughter was using the car and the tire store techician said he had never seen anything like that before, but would not say the tire was defective.when the second tire blew, the technician said it was obviously defective and when shown a picture of the first tire said it was defective too.after talking with several people at uniroyal, they replaced the rest of the tires.i have digital photographs of the tires.

Purchased (4) new tires - drove 50 miles when front left tire blew-out from the sidewall - was traveling @ 65 mph.

The uniroyal factory representative that i recently spoke to by telephone was not concerned about the failure of all 4 of these tires that i purchased in may 1999.i felt that it was crucial to notify the nhtsa regarding my experience with these uniroyal tires, so that i may prevent a fellow citizen(s) from suffering from injury and/or death as a result of the failure of one of the same tires. Uniroyal tiger paw p215/60 r16 oem tire. Driving at highway speed, right rear tire sidewall blew out and sidewall completely separated from tire. Sidewall and remainder of tire remained on rim. Immediately pulled off road. No visible signs of puncture or impact.

While driving home i noticed my car was pulling to the right, and i hear a thumping sound , the front passenger side was flat. It was split at the sides 3 inches from the top of the tire. After taking the tire to the dealer it was determined to be defective since the tire only had 192332 miles in it. My concern is this going to happen to the other tires. Thankfully i was only driving at 30mph, what if i had been going faster and the tire blewout?i forgot to mention that not only was the tire split on the outside but on the inside as well.iwanted the dealer to replace all four tires but they will only replace the defective one. I also called the pontiaccustomer assistance line and asked them to replace all four tires.they said no i feel unsafe driving on these tires. P216/60r16 uniroyal tiger paw touring (5r)

I would like to report a tire tread separation and blow out on a uni royal tiger paw xtm, p235/75 r15 tire with 3/16" tread remaining.the dot is avhl aa 481. Other numbers on the tire are: item 4165, e24405, d117c, 89c, 89b, 89a, 3452.the tire failed on july 26 at about 10:00 pm at the intersection of i255 and i70 northeast of st. Louis.the tire originally was on a new 1992 chevrolet c1500 and for the last five years has been on a 16 foot tandem axle trailer with 3500 pound axles.the tire has never been run low, nor overloaded, not run hot. At the time of failure the tire was relatively cool considering the ambient temperature.the tire failed with a 3 foot section of the tread separating from the tire exposing the steel belt which then separated and cause a sidewall to sidewall rupture of the tire with a sudden loss of the air pressue.the cause of failure was due to failure of the vulcanization of the tread to the tire.there is a section at the edge of the tread that is loose while another part is still tightly adhered to the tire.the failure didn't cause another other damage as the trailer is strong in the fender area.also because it is a tandem axle trailer, there was no stability problem.this was just one of those instances where the tire was defective in one area of the vulcanization.with the tread loose it just finally let go and the belt lost its strength and separated and then of course the radial cords have no strength to hold the air inside.

The uniroyal tigar pas radial p225/60r16 tire experienced tread separation while driving causing extensive damage to the vehicle.*mjs
