Tires involved were purchased on 7/25/2012 (have receipt) and at time of incident had 16,115 miles on them. Tires were correctly inflated to correct psi and showed no signs of excessive wear or checking. Trip was from antelope, ca to san diego, ca. (+/- 525 miles.) outside temperature was approximately 95 degrees. Driver was the only person in the vehicle, truck was running with no load/empty and in the right hand lane of a two lane highway. Traveling south bound on interstate 5 at 65 mph (cruise control was on), approximately two miles north of kettelman, california, drivers side rear tire delaminated (uniroyal laredo lt265/75r16 123q lar (dot # bfw8jduu5011) causing slight loss of control, but no accident resulted and no other vehicles involved in the incident. Damage due to the delamination was extensive to the drivers side of the pick-up bed (photos available.) aaa was called to replace the delaminated tire with the spare tire. After replacement of the delaminated tire with a good spare i continued on with my trip. Approximately 225 miles later (same day 8/16/2015), still on south bound interstate 5 in laguna niguel, ca the passenger right rear tire (uniroyal laredo lt265/75r16 123q lar (dot # bfw8jduu5011) also delaminated, again, causing slight loss of control, but no accident resulted and no other vehicles involved in the incident. Damage due to the delamination of passenger rear tire was also extensive to the passenger side of the pick-up bed (photos available.) insurance claim was made to insurance carrier (progressive insurance) and a damage claim has been made to uniroyal (claim #6193621979.) total damage to vehicle is $4,195.98 and is being repaired at carstar grove collision center, 3580 olive street, lemon grove, ca 91945 (619-460-1367.) photos of the tires, and damage to the pick-up truck are available, as are the actual tire involved.

The contact owns a 2005 r-vision trail-lite equipped with uniroyal laredo hd/h tires, size: 225/75/r16 (na). While driving approximately 50 mph, the rear passenger side inner tire blew out and detached the propane tank lines. The contact observed that the tread separated on the tire and, as a result, the tire blew out. The previous night, the contact inspected the tires and observed that the treads on all four rears tires were separating. The two rear passenger side tires were replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the tires were not included in nhtsa campaign number: 12t019000 (tires). The vehicle failure mileage was approximately 44,000 and the tire failure mileage was 10,000.

August 2011 our ambulance department purchased 6 new tires for our chevy ambulance. January 2012 we had a belt separation on a front driver tire. April 2012 we had another tire have a belt separation on the passenger tire. Then december 2012 we had a back inside dual tire have belt separation. I have now replaced all the tires with a production date of 2311. These tires are the lt22575r16.

Uniroyal laredo hd/h lt265/75 r15 had a tread separation that caused considerable sheet metal damage within and behind the right rear wheel well of my chevy silverado 2500 hd pickup. The incident occurred at 60 mph while i was towing a travel trailer. I never lost control of the vehicle and was able to bring it safely to a controlled stop. The tire was one of four installed new by the auto dealer in early 2012 when i purchased the truck used. The tire had approximately 17,000 miles of use when the separation occurred. I always kept the tire inflated to the truck and tire manufacturers' recommended 80 psi and had just inflated the tire to that pressure (it was at 74 psi before i topped it off) three days earlier, before starting my trip. I noticed a recall oftires of similar vintage in the uniroyal laredo hd/h lt 245/75 r16 series, and i am curious if many tread separations have also been reported for the 265/75 r16 series or if this is a one off incident.

While driving at 52 mph (pulling a small u-haul trailer) the left rear tire on my van suffered complete tread separation.the tread subsequently wrapped around the axle and had to be pried loose.the tread was whole and intact (a complete circle), but the carcass of the tire shredded. The tire is (was( a uniroyal lt 245/75r16 approximately 4 years old.i managed to pull to the side of the freeway on my rim.this occurred on saturday, august 25.
