Tire #1 blew out in oklahoma on june 14th and was left behind. At the time, i thought it was a random failure and just moved on. Tire #2 blew out in tennessee on june 28th. The tire technician at discount showed me how tire #3 was separated and ready to fail. The spare next to it was flat across the tread, but #3 was noticeably domed. After it was replaced he pushed down on the tread and you could hear the sound of the metal plies in the tire moving around. Tbc brands passed my claim onto unicorn tire corporation. They had the tire inspected and agreed it showed steel belt separation. They offered $375 for $2000 damage. It is sad these tires are used on new keystone trailers. Trailer model is cougar, not available in website pulldown box.
While pulling our fifth-wheel trailer, we had a tread separation with one of our power king towmax str tires. The resulting tire failure, cause body damage to both the plastic and aluminum skirting on the rv. Traveling speed: 60 mph. Tire pressure: 80 psi. Tread depth: 6/32".
I bought this keystone trailer new in august of 2020. The tires only had 400 miles of use before this trip. I equipped my trailer with tire minder system to monitor tire pressure and temperature. There was no warning of tire failure. The tire just exploded and came apart. Damaging my trailer.

Purchased a 2016 keystone montana hc rv on 2/15/19. All four tires appeared to have good tread on them at time of purchase and in good working condition. First trip from st. Louis to morton ms in june 2019 we experienced a blowout on the way to morton and one blowout on the return trip, one on each side of the rv, causing extensive damage.after contacting unicorn tire (manufacturer/distributor), the product liability claim dept handled our case.a lot of damage had been done to the rv and we requested that unicorn be held responsible.1) they requested the tires be returned to them for inspection - we did. 2) requested 2 estimates.one for $19,716.83 & $21,096.88 - we submitted. One from purchasing dealer & one from another local dealer. 3) photos-100+ sent of damages inside and out & tires. 4) detailed explanation. Sent 5)tire receipts from replacing the defective tires. Sent.after they rec'd the tires they determined fault being tread separation.directly after that they sent an email stating their policy had changed and we would have to file with our insurance and have them subrogate. The copy of the "policy" is a three sentence joke.they offered a settlement of $5,000 and wanted a release agreement signed.we did not.we feel that they have admitted fault however are not taking the responsibility that the malfunctioning tires caused.luckily my husband got the rv under control and no injuries happened. All we asked is the damages be rectified.we have all emails and documents available for review.in total two identical tires blew on the same trip, one on each side of the rv.both tires had identical reference information.
Tires checked for proper pressure prior to driving for 2 hours at 65 mph or less, experienced blowout with steel belt shredded and exposed. Used spare tire of identical make and dot data.after driving an additional 8 miles on spare to reach destination, , it too was showing separation of the tread at the edge. Took both tires plus a 3rd identical tire (same dot dates)) to tire shop for replacements and was told the 3rd tire was also out of round and needed to be replaced. When we checked two remaining tires on the unit another is showing out of round. All 4 tires were undertwo years old, installed 16 months earlier and have less than 3000 miles on them.
Traveling down the road i had a tire failure with tread missing and wires hanging out of the tire on my boat trailer. At the time i didn't think much of it thought i ran over something and popped it. Replaced the same day with a different brand and we went to the lake the very next day. After retuning home my wife noticed that we have another tire with tread missing and wires hanging out but had not yet blown. Took that tire and the remaining 2 original tires in for inspection only to find out they all were egg shaped and about ready to fail at any time. These tires were only 3 years old with less the 2,000 miles on them. The company would only would not give me an entire refund due to that they were worn but with only 20% or less total wear and also didn't want the tires back for testing. I feel these tires are dangerous to be on the road and could have not only cost me my boat and trailer but more importantly my family, mine or someone their life had they all gone together which honestly they could have with two going down within a day of each other and the other two on the brink. The tires are trailer king tires st radials of a haul-rite pontoon traler from b&m fg.co.
This involves new chinese junk tires being put on toy haulers. Keystone one of the largest manufacturer of rv's puts the cheapest tires on even after being told by many owners that tires are exploding going down the highway. Not just runlets where it falls apart but fully inflated where it goes off like a bomb my new unit has st235 80 16 12ply trailer king tires. These are the primary offenders i have less that 500 miles since delivery and at least 1 tire is showing signs of a side wall failure i talked to my dealer they filed a claim with keystone and key stone denied the claim saying that i have to contact the distributor tierce which is i believe the same company from a few years ago that had the same problem with cheap chinese tires that caused deaths. This need to be looked into.my information comes from one of many rv web sites where almost daily people talk about their cheap tires exploding causing thousands of dollars in damage. The tire company comes up with the same excuse you ran it flat. There is a big difference when a run flat comes apart and tears off a fender flare and a tire the explodes at full pressure and blows the entire skirting off the trailer. Im sure i don't have to tell you guys how to identify one from the other. Please help.## vin passed ## 2018 keystone carbon 387 ##
