I bought a 2013 heartland cyclone in dec 2013 and i one year and less than 4000 miles have had 5 blown tires. One in oct. 2014 one in dec 2014 and 3 in feb 2015. Tires sent to dynamic tire and in march they sent me a letter saying it was my fault because tires were underinflated or unit was overweight. I air my tires before leaving every trip and monthly if unit is not moved. I scaled this trailer and am under gross and axle weight. I have the scale ticket that was from the same day that i blew 2 tires. Tires are tow maxx 235/80/16/load ranee.i have bought new tires but have yet to get the damage repaired. Tire company has the tires but i took pictures before sending them.
I was on a vacation trip to daytona beach fl. From the dallas, tx area. I have a dual axle rv. This brand new tire (towmax) on the left side of my rv had less than 700 miles on it when it exploded. I was traveling at no more than 65mph. The tire pressure was checked before i left and it was at 80psi. The second tire on the right side of my rv had less than 1100 miles when it exploded. We could hear the explosion in the cab of my truck. We had not been on the road for more than 20 miles. Again the speed was no more than 65mph and the tire pressures were checked at 80psi before i left. I also had tire pressure monitors on the tires. If the second tire on the same side as the failed tire had blown, it would have rolled the rv. Someone could have been killed.
Towmax tire failure with only 600 miles.
We had a tire explode on our fifth wheel trailer and were only going 25mph.all tires are checked for damage prior to every trip and max air pressure adjusted if needed.the exploding tire damaged the side of our trailer and ripped out wiring to a slide out.upon review of the internet and related tire issues it appears there have been a history of these failures.
Tire blow out. I was pulling my camper at 60 mph, just n of the fla line on 1-95. The road temperature was moderate. I checked tire pressure before leaving savannah, 80 psi. The tire had approximately 4500 miles on it, it was not worn and was in good shape. The tire burst with a loud noise and immediately deflated. I had to change the tire on the shoulder of the road. We replaced the tire in jax fla. The technician examined the tire and said he had no clue why it failed. I am tired of trailer tires blowing out. I have had three tire failures on my boat trailer/ camper over the last 5 years and it is dangerous. Is there a safe trailer tire on the market? i plan to start reporting these from now on. The camper manufacturer nor the tire manufacturer will even listen to complaints. I left the tire with discount tire in jax.

Letter from senator isakson on behalf of constituent re automobile safety.the consumer stated he purchased a set of tires for his 5th wheel travel trailer on november 25, 2015.the consumer purchased a stronger tire than what was recommended, due to the fact the tires were made in china and had a bad reputation. In may 2015, the inside wall on one of the tires split. He purchased the same tire again and that tire failed as well on july 19, 2015. Again, the inside of the tire split.the first tire had 900 miles on it and the replacement tire failed with less than 200 miles on it.

The contact owns a jayco eagle premier fifth wheel recreational trailer. The vehicle was equipped with towmax str powerking (na) tires, size st235/80r16 (na). While driving at an unknown speed, the tires blew out. The vehicle was taken to a tire dealer where it was diagnosed that the tires completely failed. The failure recurred three times. In june of 2014 we purchased 8 235/85r 16 trailer tires from les schwab tire center-fife, wa. (shaub-ellison co. Dba les schwab tire center of fife, wa. We were "upgraded and up-sold" to the toxmax brand trailer tire at 235/85r 16; 8 tires for $1298.00.within approximately 2000 miles we had a catastrophic tread separation as we returned empty to oregon to move.we took it as a road hazard replaced the tire in texas and returned the blown casing to les schwab madras oregon for any credit.in february 2015 we traveled to texas from oregon with some household items and an empty container. Approximate mileage on the tires was 6000 miles.with in 500 miles of our destination we began to experience additional tire failures for an end result of 3 tires catastrophically failing and one tire nearly hitting a mercedes suv upon the failure.upon one tire failing the tire adjacent on the axle began to do the same and showed irregular tire wear and tread/sidewall blistering.when we finally arrived home we found to have 6 tires of the purchased set un-serviceable and/or had completely failed. Les schwab has stood on "if we cant guarantee it we wont sell it" a no fault tire warranty and the towmax tire warranty.the remaining tire has 6/32 of the original 10/32 tread depth. Towmax warrants the tires up to 2/32.i have tried to resolve the issue which i believe are inferior and/or defective tires sold by les schwab.on thursday march 5th, 2015 i asked by registered email a mediated remedy and asked for an answer by friday cob as we had been trying to resolve for over two weeks.they failed to respond with any resolution. There are 100's if not 1000's of complaints of this tire brand and size distributed by tbc of florida.i believe to have 4 out of 8 tires to separate under normal use is a flag for further investigation.i have 3 more of the 8 tires beginning to separate.they begin with becoming out of round and then blister with a final tread separation.
Towmax st225/75r-15/10 dot numbers adb4gpb5014,jklfid2613 and 83b4gpb4011 700 to 1000 miles on the tires belt separated and tread loss 2 of 4 tires 80 psi in tires at all times according to sidewall requirements.

Towmax str tire, belt failure. While performing routine maintence checks on brakes, springs and hubs, tire was taken off unit to access these components. Upon removal the tire was examined and found to be out of round and have a blister with torn rubber on the inside wall. Upon further inspection the belts seem to have let go and the tire is now fully rounded where it contacts the road. Proper tire pressure has been and is currently maintained throughout it's short service life. Tire did not blow, as failure was averted due to this inspection and it will be replaced.
I have had three tires explode while pulling my 2013 5th wheel camper. One tire failed in march of 2015 and i recently had two more fail july the 3rd of 2015. I had to buy new tires while traveling. The two that failed in july did over $5,000.00 in damage. I am very maintenance minded and the tires were what appeared to be in good condition and the tire pressure was correct. The tire manufacturer says no tires no claims. They do not want any record. How many people keep a hot, huge ball of wire when they fail. The company knew about my loss three days afterwards and made everything my problem.three out of four tires suggest a tire issue and the company will not listen. After i complained enough they said send in the good tire and they will look at it. No one even interviewed me to see what went on. They don't want to know because you guys might make them pull some tires. When these tires blow at 65 mph they are dangerous. ..updated 10/27/15
We were just leaving az in april 2016 traveling north on a freeway at 65 mph when the passenger tire on our 2014 jayco eagle premier fifth wheel exploded. I have a tire monitoring system on the tires and everything looked good prior to the blowout. The tires are towmax 235x80x16. I changed the tire and proceeded down the same highway. About 8 miles later the tire on the drivers side blew. Since my spare was already in use i had to limp down the highway 6 miles on the shoulder to get to an exit where i could safely get off the road. The towmax tires came with thetrailer new and had about 3000 miles on them. The rv was under the maximum load capacity and i drive no more than 65 pulling the trailer. There was extensive damage to the body of the rvand the tires also destroyed the wiring to the electric brakes. Stopping a 14000 pound trailer with a blown tire and no brakes at 65 mph is a harrowing experience. I found a tire store in henderson nv that replaced all 4 tires with goodyear marathon tires and repaired the brakes. I called jayco and they had me drop off the tires at a local jayco dealer. I also filed a warranty claim with towmax. No results..
On july 20, took my 2014 5th wheeler rv in for tire inspection prior to trip, at this time i replaced 1 of of the tires, even though it passed the inspection i was concerned because that tire seemed to reach a higher temperature traveling. Exactly a week later while travel with the proper tire pressure at 65mph. Another tire blew out causing serious damage to my rv.this rv was purchased new in 2015, to this day i have replaced 3 tires due to defect, this was the last of the original tires beside the spare. These tires are dangerous not only tho the driver of the unit, but other travelers on the road. There was less then 1000 miles on them! i am just one of an abundance of people that have all experienced similiar expereinces with towmax str 235/80r/16 load e tires!
While towing a normally loaded 5th wheel rv at 65mph we experienced a tread separation and blow out of a towmax powerking 23580 r16 tire. The tire blew and severely damaged the wiring and the rv.
