My 2000 oldsmobile alero has had serious problems with it since purchasing it in june of 2002. To date, i have had to replace my waterpump, intake manifold gasket, tires, brakes and rotors consistently (three or more times ayear) . Themost recent problem is my gas gauge will indicate that i have 1/4 tank and to my surprise the car will not start unless more fuel is added. The engine also sounds rough, i have both service engine lights on, along with my low tire pressure, anti lock brake light on and i have new tires, replaced a gas cap, and the lights went off, but then come back on. I am also positive that my car will not pass inspection. The cosmetic defects are that of the dash board starting to peel and come loose. I have read up on that gm responded to a problem with all 2000 oldsmobile aleros about the gas problem and i contacted the dealer dorschel and spoke with service manager lou, gm agreed to add a different filter so that the gas was draining back into the tank, it was also mentioned in the article that dealers could be fined thousands of dollars daily if not complied with, but because it was not an actual recall, the dealer denied my request to fix. After reading the multiple complaints about these vehicles, i am shocked that they have not been recalled, the should be as they are not safe cars in my opinion. I am challenging you to take a ride in my car with your family and see if you feel safe, because not only am i out 13,000 that i paid for the car, but also if i have to estimate probably another 6,000 in repairs. That is ridiculous. I expect a written response from your office within 30 days of what you intend to do to investigate these problems. Not only read my letter, but you should google in 2000 oldsmobile aleros and see the disgust of performance people are complaining of.

We bought 4 new sumitomo tour plus lxt tires for our 2008 toyota 4runner in june of 2013. Two years and 50,000 miles later, we felt a severe wobble in the tires and took the car to the shop. The two rear tires had separating belts and were replaced. Four months later, the two front tires exhibited the same problems. Another tire shop mechanic (different shop and mechanic than who diagnosed the first two tires)said the belts in the tires were separating and these two tires were also replaced.

On 10/27/06 (@ 30,048 miles)i purchased 4 tires (sumitomo htr h4; p195-60-r15; 87h m+s).rotation of these four tires occurred @ 34,917 miles.on 7/27/07 a driver's side tire went flat and was replaced where i originally purchased them. Driving off the freeway damaged the tire into two pieces (sidewall still attached to rim), so determining what caused the flat was fruitless.next service occurred @ 41,640 miles and included rotation and alignment.then on 12/29/07, the rear passenger tire went flat, although the tread looked fine with no visible punctures.appx three hours later, the front passenger tire went flat and this time damage was visibly seen on outside sidewall of tire.again, no visible puncture on tread.i still have this tire.

Tire valve stems all four ,caused two flat tires and two value stem creaking, 13 monthsold, sumitomo tiresp21560h16 from sears. I was told it was dry rot,i told the mdg. He was full of b.s. . i had midas replace all four value stems.

I have had four flat tires within three months due to valve stem failure. These were tires purchased from sears at the end of 2006. Fortunately, the deflations occurred when the car was parked, so there were no accidents as a result. Sears replaced the valve stems for me, but their personnel professed to be mystified concerning the reason for the repeated valve stem failures. After the fourth failure, i did some research online and found aboutthe defective stems made in china and sold by dill. I examined what i could see of my valve stems; three were chrome, but one was rubber, and the cap said "dill." i returned to sears with a news release about the valve-stem recall. The man who waited on me kept saying that the problem had occurred a long time ago and couldn't be affecting my tires now. I kept pointing out that i had bought the tires during the period when the bad valve stems were in use. I wanted him to assure me that the rubber valve stem on my tire was not one of the defective ones; he did not seem able to do that, but finally offered to replace it with a metal stem for free "if that would make me feel better." i agreed to have it replaced. I don't blame sears for the initial defect, but i do blame them for not knowing (or pretending not to know) about the problem, and for not changing all of my valve stems when the first problem occurred. Their negligence could have caused a bad accident. As it was, it caused me a great deal of inconvenience and paranoia (i was beginning to wonder if my tires were being vandalized). I will not go back to sears automotive again, even if i have to travel further and spend more to patronize a difference dealer.

I purchased new tires for my vehicle in 2006, i drive only about 8000 miles a year.i have had two flat tires this year, one on 5/21/08 and the other on 8/31/08 and both were cause by faulty valve stems.with the incident on 8/31/08, my tires were all inflated properly when left i the house to run errands.i left one parking lot, turned on the main street and within seconds i knew something was wrong and i had a flat.it happened all of a sudden.the flat was fixed (roadside assistance) and i then went back to sears where i had purchased the tires.i had the roadside hazard agreement.the technician at the auto center said there had been a problem with valve stems.i saw something on tv about a horrible crash that happened when the very same thing happened to some man.i was lucky, i had only turned onto the main street and was not going very fast.

Faulty valve stems -- suspect -- made in china, purchased at local aaa repair facility that purchaes supplies from tech int'l.

Driving my 1995 saturn sl1 at 65mph, my right front tire immediately went flat. I was able to guide the car to the shoulder in less than 200 yards and change the tire. The local shop said the valve stem was "dry rotted" and so they replaced it. Visual inspection of the other tire valve stems shows cracks. The tires were installed at wal mart in summer 2007.

I bought 4 new tires at sears on 10/31/06.and i had a flat tire so i put air in the tire when i was done i could hear the air leaking out of the valve stem i could see the cracks in the stems and replaced it on 5/18/08 and a month later the same thing i replaced another valve stem on 06/16/08 . Now i will have to replace the two front tires valve stems.

The contact owns a 2003 toyotacorolla.the valve stems are installed on a set of sumotomo tires.while driving40 mph the front driver side tire went flat due to a faulty valve stem.he contacted the dealer in reference to the failure, and was advised that they were not aware of a valve stem recall.the failure mileage was 15,000.the vehicle identification number was unavailable.

The consumer's vehicle hit a pot hole, and damaged two tires and bent a rim. The consumer requested reimbursement.

I have after market rims with sumitomo htr+ 225/40zr18 tires. On my way traveling to california from louisiana my rear tire blew out causing my rim to crack and it also scrached up the lowerright half of my car, it cost me $600.00 to replace the rim and tire and now i have a bubble forming in my front driver side tire i think that the company who makes this tire shouldrefund me the money i spent to replace the rim and tire, fix the damage to my car, and also give me a replacement for the one with the bubble. Something needs to be done because im not the only one this has happened to my frind has the same exact tires and his did the same thing only he was at a stop light when it happened.these tires are not cheap and i still have to repaire the body damage. Thank you from a concered soldier of the army.
