Purchased spector advanta suv tires on 06/05/08. 235/65/17. Complained to dealer, ashland tire and auto care, ashland, ky. Dealer re-balanced tires without positive results. In the last several weeks, at interstate speeds tires vibrated enough to cause the check engine light to illuminate with traction control and vsc as well. Dealer said buy new tires. Tires currently have 25,000 miles. I replaced the tires today and the problem seems resolved. I see this as a safety issue as the engine tries to decelerate with this combination of dashboard lights. I am storing the tires pending results from this website.

On may 9 2008 i purchased a set of 4 spector advanta at all season tires for my 2004 ford excursion. On 23 november while traveling from boise idaho to las vegas nevada i experience a left rear tire failure at 70 mph. The tire shredded completely down to the steel belts. The vehicle was being operated at highway speeds and was not towing or heavily loaded. The incident caused $1800 in damage to my vehicle. I filed a claim with the tire manufacturer and during the course of the claim they tire manufacturer took the remnants of the tire for a forensic analysis. The tire dealer where i purchased the tires replaced the tire with the same tire type. I never heard back on the results of the "forensic" analysis.on august 16th, while towing my travel trailer at approximately 55 mpr i experienced a tire failure in the left rear tire. Once again the tire completely shredded down to the steel belts. I took it back to the dealer i bought the tires from and demanded a different set of replacement tires but was denied. The dealer did contact the manufacturer to see what the story was on the previous tire failure and to see if there was a recall on that particular tire. He stated the manufacturer told him they couldn't determine why the tire failed and that they weren't responsible for any damage to my vehicle or to reimburse the dealer for a new set of tires for me. The dealer stated that because of the destroyed nature of the tire he couldn't determine a cause of failure but would replace only the shredded tire.yesterday, 25 october i once again experienced a tire failure with a spector tire. I was traveling at highway speed, 75mpr, empty and the right front tire shed all of the tire tread. I pulled over and watched the tire, consisting of steel belts, slowly deflate. Once again, the shredding tire did extensive damage to my vehicle.my complaint is 3 tires shredding under "normal" use is not "normal".

On 5/31/2011 i had work done on my brakes at a local vendor. At that time, i was informed to get to a tire shop immediately and not to travel out of town as was my plan. I took the car to discount tires where i was told all 4 of the tires were literally shredded on the whitewall side, which was on the interior.the exact same damage to all 4 tires indicates this is a manufacturer's defect. When i saw the state of the tires, my heart stopped. These tires have gone 37,900 miles. This type of damage is not normal wear.something is very wrong with these tires, and i am just thankful to god there was no collision. I commute to graduate school several times a month.i often have children in my car for church activities.i purchased 2 new tires yesterday at a cost of $233.00 and cannot drive my car until i am able to purchase 2 more tires.

Since i use my vehicle for local travel and to tow my travel trailer i don't travel at high speeds very often. On 25 november, while traveling with my family from boise idaho to las vegas nevada we experienced a catastrophic tire failure in the left rear. The tire disintegrated while traveling on a newly resurfaced road at approximately 70 mph. The vehicle sustained approximately $2000 in damage from the shredded tire. Upon return to boise les schwab replaced the blown tire with the same brand. I pursued a claim with the tire manufacturer but they denied it, as did the dealer les schwab.on august 23 2009 we experienced another tire blowout, left rear, while returning from a camping trip. We were towing our travel trailer at approximately 50 mph when the tire failed. I returned to les schwab and told them that 2 failures was beyond coincidence and that i wanted them to replace the tires as they seemed defective. The store manager agreed and tried to work with the tire manufacturer and les schwab to get the tires replaced with another brand. Everyone refused but the manager did replace the blown tire with a used tire from a different manufacture.i subsequently transferred to las vegas and commute to boise on the weekends. On 25 october i experienced another catastrophic tire failure, this time the right front. I was traveling at the posted highway speed 75 mph and almost flipped the vehicle when i ran down the shoulder into the field. The tire tread had completely separated from the steel belts and was strewn about the road.
