On vacation we had a tire explode on the way home from vacation two exploded on the same side without warning we rolled our ford explorer sport trac four times before stopping a day after the accident we investigated the tire and found they all we bought new had 65,000 mile warranty we only used half that and found that they we on recall for a year prior to firestone selling them to us.
Tire failure resulting in damage to vehicle.sigma regent m+s tire.vehicle was begin driving approx 15-20 mph when loud bang was heard and vehicle loss of control occurred. Driver side wheel fender blown out away from vehicle when tire blowout happened.
I purchased 4 sigma regent 9m tires from tire kingdom in 2003.they only had 25,000 on them and 2 of them blew out on the expressway on 2 different occasions.it wasn't a normal blowout, as 2 different mechanics attested.the tire had wires coming out everywhere.i called tire kingdom and they said that since i don't have the tires (my daughter had the mechanics dispose of them after being towed to the nearest service center) they couldn't do anything.i just wanted to make someone aware of this because it could of caused an injury.

The contact owns a 2000 chrysler town and country.the vehicle has sigma regent tires, size 215/65/r16 (na).while driving approximately 70 mph, the front driver's side tire blew out without warning.several weeks later, the rear passenger tread separated from the tire.the contact replaced all four tires.the manufacturer would not assist.the failure mileage was 110,000 and current mileage was 112,000.
2nd of 4 tires purchased at the same time that are possibly defective. (see previous complaint #10269608).this second poss defective tire was discovered during a test drive after the completion of repair of the vehicle damage caused by the blowout of the first poss defective tire.steering started to wobble during test drive.multiple bubbles were later found by repair shop on the inside of the tire - sigma regent m+s 215/65/r16. Have since discovered that these tires dot 3d6v tw6 1007 sold by tbc are actually made by cooper.note to nhtsa:previous complaint # 10269608 referenced above had an incorrect vin entered.the vin is the same as entered into this complaint.

He felt that this could increase the risk of serious injury or crash.he concluded that the tire pressure and tread was normal.the failure and current mileages were 18,000.

I purchased 4 sigma regent touring 205/55tr16, 7e55 from tire kingdom in may 2006 when my card had ~77k now in january 07 with tires being rotated properly and car having 91k two of the tires have split on the inside around the rim.both tires appear as though the have been sliced with a razor around the inside seam, this was pointed out to me by my acura dealer mechanic.i have pictures which can be provided. I am having a time getting tire kingdom to make right.
Vehicle was being serviced at repair facility, technician advised all 4 tires had splits on sidewalls rendering them unsafe.

14 months old sigma regent tire (purchased nov '06). Strange vibration since the day they were purchased. Ntb checked tires and balance - no problem. There is a bubble with small slits near the rim. No rim damage. No failure, caught it and removed the tire. Nothing was done to correct the failure. Ntb said it was my problem, no theirs.

The contact's daughter owns a 2001 dodge stratus.the vehicle has cooper sigma shadow, size p20565r15 tires (na).while driving 40 mph, the contact heard a loud flapping noise coming from the rear of the vehicle.the contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the tread separated on the rear driver side tire.the body shop inspected the tire, but was unable to determine the cause of the failure.there is a recall for the tire tread (nhtsa campaign id number 06t027000), however, the manufacturer stated that his tire was not included.the vin and dot number were unavailable.the current and failure mileages were 112,987.
