Pro comp tires side walls are falling apart while driving, this is my second replacement tire out five, don't trust them anymore to drive safely down road. I'll keep them for testing purposes.
Tire separation.
I went to primm nevada for a off road race and notice that at high speeds the tires develop a pull to one side.i have had the truck aligned and not able to fix the pull.the tires are pro comp extreme all terrains.
I was driving north on i-95 ,when the rear of my f-250 started moving side to side out of control. I pulled over into the emergency lane, which took approx. One minutes with traffic. It was too late the tire separated and damaged the l-side of vehicle.
Traveling north on interstate 75 in manatee county. Pick-up truck began to fish tail, causing several vehicles to swerve to avoid accident, followed byloud banging noises at left rear of truck. Pulled over to skirt of interstate and observed a great amount of damage to right rear quarter panel; and the rear passenger side tire devoid of its tread but still fully inflated. Drove truck with tire tread missing of interstate (approx. 5 miles) and replaced tire with tread separation with spare tire. Waiting for response from pro comp/cooper tire company to rectify damage.
I wias traveling on hwy. 27 outside of blakely ga on 09-17-15. My front drivers side tire tread belt separated. I lost control of the vehicle and narrowly avoided a severe accident. The tire was a pro-comp all terrain load range e 265/75/16.
Cracking on the shoulder of my tires.
I went to primm nevada for a off road race and notice that at high speeds the tires develop a pull to one side.i have had the truck aligned and not able to fix the pull.the tires are pro comp extreme all terrains.
I was on the 10 freeway going approximately 70 mph, i felt my car starting to shake.i moved over to the slow lane and at that time the tire tread on my left rear tire came completely off and did significant damage to the left rear side.i called aaa to have the tire changed and when the technician arrived he check the air pressure which was 37 lbs.my spare was placed on my vehicle and i drove home.i contacted americas tire co. (i hadtaken my car in march 2008to prepare for a trip and they rotated and balanced my tires and i was given the o.k.)i told the manager of my problem and he referred me to copper tire co.i was sent a claim package and was told to mail the tire back for inspection. On july 10 i received a letter from which stated our claim was denied.the reasons where because our tire had a loose patch plug repair and was underinflated.they are saying due to the puncture, which there isn't one because it was repaired in 2006,the tire failed.i called americas tire and told them what crawford had said about the repair and they told me thatthey follow calif. Law when doing a tire repair. I was also told the patch would not cause a separation of the tread, that is caused by a company defect. Crawford claims that they tested the tire and refuse to provide me with any information.my tire was repaired in oct. Of 2006,if this was the case my tread would have separated a long time ago.it appears crawford is using this as an excuse not to pay the over $2,000 worth of damage to my car.crawford claims when a flat tire is repaired with a patch it affect the integrity of the tire.this is nothing more than an excuse for crawford and cooper to not pay for the damaged to my car. I also have noticed that pro comp has had problems with the same styleall terrain tire no. Lt265/75r16 that i currently have on my vehicle so this is not the first time they have had problems with tread separation with cooper tires.
Procomp at tires that i have on my truck at this time have two large bulges in the side which look like the cords are coming apart. I took the tires to 4wheel parts and they informed me that they looked fine but would replaced them but i have to pay for the replacements. Then i took the tires to two other shops and both informed me that the tires had separated cords and were a danger. Now i do not even have 10000 miles on these tires and they are coming apart and the dealer owner of these tires will not do a thing to assist me before they blow. This to me is poor workmanship and sales along with no regards to the public safety. Please assist me and others that spent our hard earned money to get these tires either taken off market or replaced.
Tire blowout.
I first bought pro comp tires a couple of years a go.within ten thousand miles i had a bulge on one tire and a vibration at 55 mph and over.i took the truck into 4wheel parts as that is where they were purchased.i had two bad tires according to them and they replaced them which cost me approximately $200.after a trip to arizona and less than 7000 miles i started having a vibration problem again.took back to 4wheel parts and they said one was coming apart and one was out of balance.it cost me $150 this time.i told them that the cost were inapropriate as pro comp is a company that they own.told me that i would have to take it up with pro comp.these tires are a danger to the public and most importantly the ones that buy them.my tires are e rated for my truck and have never had a problem with big o tires or bfgs.my tires are always in good shape as i tow a fifth wheel.look into this matter please.i will be replacing mine as soon as i have the money and just will eat the cost as safety is the most important for me and my family along with the public that i serve.i do not have the tires as 4wheel parts has kept them.

Driving on hwy880 north bound just past 238 junction pulling my boat.my boat weighs approx 7000#.i had just merged onto the highway and i was going about 50mph when i noticed a severe vibration.the vibration got worseand all of a sudden a huge piece of tread separated from the rear drivers side tire. I can say this because i saw it fly past me in the lane to my left.following the tread separation the tire exploded and my truck started to fishtail.i was able to signal and make my way to the right hand shoulder. The tire had 3/4 of the tread missing and had a huge hole in the sidewall.i was able to remove tire and replace with spare. When the tread detached it did some damage to the rear quarter panel.the 2 sidebody support rods in the wheel well where completely torn free.also the wheel well trim was completely torn loose.the metal behind the tire in wheel well was crushed up against the underside of the bed.i brought tire back to 4wheel parts and was told it was just a blowout and that they can be pretty nasty sometimes.i purchased another tire from the same manufacturer.move forward one year to 5/4/13 i have another tread separation while traveling on highway.this time it is the right rear tire.speed is approx. 60mph tire starts to vibrate badly.i immediately start to move to shoulder from number 3 lane when tread separates from tire i see it pass me in right lane.this time the tire does not burst.i replace tire with spare.there is expensive damage to wheel well area.crushed metal, bent and detached support members and the tread when it detached flew upa long the passenger side of vehicle and left deep scratches in paint and black tire marks.returned to 4wheelparts and was told to contact cooper tire. I am currently waiting for complaint package from them.purchased a new set of 4 tires from 4wheel parts.they gave me credit for 2 defective tires and made me pay for other 2.

Severe tire pulls, left front tire developed most pull.even developed a small bulge inthe tire tread itself.condition worsened with mileage.consumer took his truck to 4wp store and asked them to replace defective tires under purchased warranty.store manager stated that the tire pulls were common among all tire brands and failed to replace tires under warranty.consumer at a later time replaced worn suspension parts due to out of balance condition and vibration caused by tire bulges.consumer also filed complaint with the consumer affairs state enforcement agency.fb f2
