I own 23 foot rv with dualie rear wheels with 6 power king tires purchased 3 years ago and having less than 10,000 miles on the tires.traveling from houston corpus christie texas at approximately 60mph on hwy 59 south with wife & 4 children.at approximately 4:30pm, inside right rear tire lost tread-saw it in my rear view mirror.vehicle was momentarily unstable, but was able to maintain rv control.exited to side of interstate.examination revealed tire with tread separation was still pressurized.called local tire company and they advised traveling to their repair center on one remaining good tire on right side of dualie so i did so.tire repair center replaced damaged tire w/ new tire & inspected remaining tire.remaining tire found to be ok.i kept damaged tire. Got back on road and traveled approx.45 more miles at 60mph when outside right rear tire lost tread (saw it in my rear view mirror) and then heard explosion.pulled over and examined vehicle & tire.right rear outside tire was missing all tread & blown out.tire explosion did moderate damage to right side panels of motorhome, ripped out all electrical wiring and damaged welded metal bar holding tire flap as well as bending exhaust pipe out of shape. Damage estimated @ $500-$1,000.walked along interstate 59 approx 1/8 of a mile and got tire tread from blown tire. I called tire repair company that assisted 45 miles earlier.tire repair technician was dispatched, arrived on site & swapped damaged tire with spare tire on my vehicle as he did not have correct replacement tire. I kept tread and damaged tire.i am deeply concerned about my families safety and possibility that remaining 4 tires could undergo tread separation and failure at any time.i would like to know what i should do with remaining tires on rv that were purchased from same mfg at same time with same mileage on them.will record separate record for 2nd incident.
