While traveling to california on hwy95, at approx. 60mph, heard a noise, like a blow out. Vehicle went out of control, flipping our truck at least four times. Vehicle came to a rest upside down, passenger door stuck shut, drivers side door open. My husband was driving, he was now outside of the vehicle, hanging upside down, with the seatbelt wrapped around his neck, and choking. I cut him free, and drug him away from the truck. After 30, emt's arrived, they flew him by flight for life to the trauma center. Luckily, he had no serious injuries. It wasn't until afterwards, i saw that the tire had seperated. Pirelli has denied any recalls, and will not return any calls. Something has got to be done.

Noticeable vibration for several days.assumed tire out of balance.while driving at 75 mph, temperature about 80 degrees, excessive vibrations then banging sound followed by rapid deflation of left rear tire. Tire had lost about 1/2 it's total tread.

The first tire that the tread came off was while traveling on the freeway - july, 2002.no damage to the vehicle or myself.tow truck driver came out and changed the tire.went to discount tire to have the tire replaced, they replaced it at no cost.when i asked if the others were safe, they said yes, leaving the other desert dog tires on.august, 2003 - driving on the freeway again with my husband, we felt a vibration, pulled off to the side of the road and found that the tread had come off once again.had that replaced at discount tire, where they didn't mention again that there was a recall on the remaining desert dog tire on the vehicle.october, 2003 - my husband was driving on the freeway, traveling about 75 mph, felt a tire go down, this time causing the vehicle to pull right, then back to the left.then there was total loss of control as he veered down into the median where the vehicle rolled 6 - 8 times.once again, the tread had separated causing what could have resulted in his death.luckily, he did not have any serious injuries.the vehicle is totalled.there was a recall on these tires from pirelli on june 7, 2001.the recall states that pirelli would notify their distributors.discount tire should not have let us drive away from their location with those tires!!*la

Have reported another incident (odi #766215).while driving to have that tire replaced the left front tire developed severe vibration and thumping sound.when checked there was a large bubble, approximately 4"x2"at the junction of the tread and sidewall.the bubble was in the tread section.i had driven about 120 miles after the other tire had separated.

Two tires blew three hours apart causing almost $4000 damage to the truck.according to the tire tech, the third tire was not far from blowing out. (dot number: chw8tiresize: 265/75/16)

The first tire started losing big chunks of thread while driving on the freeway at 75mph.there was very little damage to the bottom of my vehicle at that time, and that's why i decided not to file a claim when i had the tire replaced.the second tire started making strange noises while driving in the city at 40 mph.i went back to discount tire where i had bought the four tires to have it inspected.i was told that the thread was separating from the inside out.the tire was replaced at that moment.the third tire blew up while driving on the same freeway at 75 mph.my wife was able to control the vehicle, avoiding an major accident. There was a $2,600 damage to the vehicle.while i was having that tire replaced i asked the discount tire manager to inspect the fourth and last desert dog tire i had left on my vehicle.he concluded that the tire was separating from the inside out too, and replaced it.dt
