75,000 mile tires coming apart after 23,844 miles !after visiting relatives in stuart fla on our way home on i-95 heading south to pompano beach at 70mph our van started to vibrate viciously in the rear,i pulled off the highway to check the tires,i thought one of the rear wheels came loose i just had it in at the pompano beach pepboys for a tire rotation and frontend alignment, after checking all the wheel nuts on the rear and front wheels i found none to be loose.i did not have a flashlight to inspect the tires with us,i had to wait till we arrived home so i could see what had happened to the tires,i had to keep the speed down to 55 mph because of the bad vibration to make it home this was at 9pm sunday night.monday morning i inspected the tires,i found the tires to have cracks all around both sides of the tires where the tread comes together with the sidewall.the left rear tire is the worst, the tread has a bulge the size of a football next to the sidewall.i fell that all of the tires on my van not to be safe tires and i don't trust them.
The outer belt of the front tire separated while traveling on interstate 15 near baker, ca , towards las vegas, at 7:30 pm. With great difficulty, i was able to control the car and avoid a major accident in that busy highway.i received a citation from the highway patrol because i had to leave the car on the side of the highway. I had to pay for a tow truck to remove the car. The car was declared a total loss by the liberty mutual's appraiser. I later found out that these tires had been recalled on nov '06,but neither pep boys (the seller) nor the tire manufacturer, cooper tires, had ever contacted me about the recall. Moreover, pep boys had failed to inform me of the serious crash risk of these tires, even when i took my car on mar 30th, 2008 for tire rotation !!!both companies pep boys and copper tires have been unresponsive to my complaints and claiming the other as the responsible party in this case. By the way, i'm still without a car.

They told me it would be pro rated, only 6,000 miles and it cost me 41.52 for another tire.it couldnt be fixed. What was the road hazzard for?ps they offered me a oil change as a settelment. I told them no thanks!

Pep boys, definity tires, hx700, sizep205/60hr16. I have had 2 different tires on my 2004 honda accord just lose air pressure. The first one while just sitting in my driveway just go flat. Filled it back up to proper pressure drove for a week or 2 and same thing happened, it just went flat.....then it happened a third time and took the car back to pep boys and they replaced it and has not happened since.....at least to that tire and i have been closely watching them all. Until the other day.....when a different one went down on me......no punctures were found and the tire was replaced. I personally believe there is a sidewall defect with these tires.....they are not strong enough and i mostly do interstate driving. Pep boys thought that there might be something wrong with my wheels, but when my first tire went down and i took it to them to be checked they dropped in the tub of water with no leaks......and 1 of the technicians mentioned the sidewall which makes good sense. So that is that and i have 2 more tires that i am watching closely.

Mytires, which are not defective nor worn keeping loosing air causing the tpms senor to come on. After taking it in many times to get air i was told the tpms senor was bad on one tire and there was corrosion around the wheel.i replaced it and had sealant put around the corrosion. I was informed that this was a frequent problem with these wheels and chrysler is aware of it. I still have to continually put air in the tires every 7-10 days, and the "service tire system" message now never goes out.
