5/31/2008 i purchased 4 definity dakota a/t truck tires lt265/75r16 for my 1995 dodge ram pickup.one of them detreaded almost immediately but was replaced under warranty.december 2009, my front right detreaded at 40 mph while driving on a city road.early january, the front left detreaded driving 65 mph on the fl turnpike, leading me to suspect a defect. Last night, my left rear detreaded while driving 70 mph on i-75, nearly causing a roll-over.significant damage to my truck body occurred as the tread spun around cutting through sheet metal.
I was driving my truck on the way to the cottage when the belt in my left front tire blew. I had to make a quick stop as to not loose control of my vehicle.there is a recall on an earlier version of the same tires produced 2 weeks prior to my tires.definity dakota a/t lt285/75r16 3dyupbb3506(my dot)definity dakota a/t lt285/75r16 3dyupbb3206(tire recall) definity dakota a/t lt285/75r16 3dyupbb3306 (tire recall)i believe that this defect in the previous official recall should apply to my tires as well.any help would be appreciated. Purchased p245 75r 16 definity dakota a/ttires form pepboys 02/08/2009. I have had them in to be checked about 3 time for being out of balance and keep ask them are the tire belt and are tread defected. The tires seem to vibrate constantly even after a new balance. I have ask them are the belts separating and is there a recall on my tires dot ut70 pa8 0408 and dot ut70 pa8 4808? i believe that these tire are defected. That is why i am complaining. I am going back to pepboys today again and hoping this can be resolved. I do not want to be in an injury or crash.
The contact owns a 2007 ford explorer sport trac xlt with difinity dakota a/t tires, line size p235/70/r16.the contact was driving approximately 75 mph when the rear driver side left quarter tire shredded. The tires were replaced.the manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance to the contact.the contact purchased the vehicle used two months prior to the failure and was unsure if the tires were the originals or replacement tires. Driving on highway approx 65 mph, steering wheel vibrating, slowed vehicle down as pulling off exit tire tread from right front passenger side of vehicle shredded. Tire tred is still haning on tire.
