Nokian 215/55 r17 98v xl tires purchased jan. '09 for 2005 lexus es330 do not hold air. Factory tires they replaced held air w/o problems. Tire dealer, borst tire centers, 3361 so. Thompson st., schenectady, ny 12306, attempted 3 times to correct, blaming loss of air on corrosion of the rims. On 3rd attempt ground off the "corrosion" but little or no improvement resulted. Must add air 2x weekly.
The contact owns a 2004 ford f350 super duty.in april of 2008, the contact purchased four used nokian vatiiva tires, size lt265/75r16.while driving 65 mph, the rear passenger side tire blew out.the contact pulled the vehicle over and replaced the tire with a spare.on september 5, 2008, while driving approximately 60 mph on an elevated road, the front passenger side tire blew out.he lost control of the vehicle and almost plummeted off the side of the road.after regaining control of the vehicle, the contact pulled over to the side of the road and changed the tire with another spare.the vehicle sustained front end damage.he called the manufacturer and they mailed him a claim form and asked him to ship them the defective tires.they wanted to perform an investigation to ensure that the blow outs were not due to any defects.when the contact received the claim form, he called the manufacturer again and they stated that they would not replace the tires because they were not included in a recall.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 45,000.
Absolutely horrible performance in icy road conditions. Other cars pass with ease while mine felt like it was slipping and floating over the road. This only seems to occur in icy road conditions. We actually spun out on ice while only driving 30mph, clipping a road sign. We're lucky the damage/injuries weren't worse. Car feels completely uncontrollable. It is terrifying to drive in these conditions.

Recently i noted that my nokian tires were coming apart. My situation was exactly like the one reported on this club touareg forum: http://www.clubtouareg.com/forums/f44/nokian-wrg2-tires-falling-apart-79397.htmli've had them for about 27k miles, same model tire, never off-roaded, and the front tires started shredding.i went to where i bought them, and nokian offered no apology and a $200 discount on a new set of $800 tires. They sold defective tires, and yet they expect me to shell out hundreds of dollars to remedy this situation. That's not acceptable. I didn't spend almost $1k on tires to have to spend another $700 in under 30k miles. It's not my fault they chose to sell defective tires, and replacing their defective tires should not be at my expense.p.s. The tire model is a wrg2. Your form required i check a model, but the correct model wasn't on the list, so i had to check the wrong model or the form wouldn't let me continue. Also, the problem is on both front tires, although the form only allowed me to select a single tire location.
