I purchased (4) nitto terra grappler at 265/70/17 tires about 2 months ago. Ever since i've had them i've been having a sliding problem. When i almost come to a complete stop the tires start sliding on dry and dirt free pavement and activates my abs. My abs sensors are not dirty. I've never had this problem with tires like i do with these. It can be dangerous and very surprising at times when i drive with this problem occurring. I sent the manufacturer a complaint email. But never got a response. My local dealer says it's a tire problem. Only thing i can do is disable the abs. But even if i do that it won't stop the sliding.

I had taken my 2003 h2 hummer to have the front end aligned and 2 new tires placed on the front . I complained to the tire dealership the moment i had driven my vehicle maybe 10 miles of it not driving right . I took my vehicle back to the dealer 3 times with complaints of it not driving right. Thinking maybe they did not tightened something back up when they did the alignment . I had only driven my vehicle approx. 5 times (4 times to the dealership with complaints)and the 5th time i drove it . I was in an accident in when the vehicle pulled to the right i lost all control and my vehicle was totaled . It is my understanding that nitto grapper has recalled tires and this was the brand of tires that was put on my vehicle . The right front tire was flat after the crash an this is one of the reason the tires are being recalled . I believe it was either the tires or the alignment not properly being done that caused my crash .

So far 3 of 4 tires have lost their shape by belt separation. They all went around 25 thousand miles.

I have been trying to resolve this matter with nitto and have had the tires inspected by one of there distributors at their request. It was determined that the tire separation that is occurring appears to be a manufacturing defect according to the inspector. This is the fourth tire from this same manufacturer to fall apart and at approx 18000 miles with this set. It is a huge concern as they show no signs of wear or defect until they are about to fail. Fortunately, i have become an expert at feeling the irregularities while driving and have now started inspecting the tires immediatelybefore my life is threatened. This is a real problem that i was hoping to get the tires, i saved two of them, back to nitto for examination. They initially seemed very interested after hearing the news from their inspector, but my attempts to contact them have been ignored and they have failed to follow up as promised.i was forced to replace one tire already due to my location away from home at time of incident and while traveling home i felt the other tire start to go and yes this was also inspected. I will now replace all of my tires yet again (with a different manufacturer this time) for simple fear of failure and injury or death. I felt at minimum you should be made aware of this situation in case others have been injured due to their faulty products.it bothers me greatly that they would not want to have these returned for evaluation. I wasn't requesting any warranty or compensation, so it's not about money for me.

I was hit in the rear passenger side of my truck on the highway and ended up hitting the wall it will need a balljoint, control arm, fender, hood and passenger side headlight, still needs fixed but it only has 60k miles on it

The contact owns a 2002 ford f-150 equipped with four toyo nitto terra grapper tires, size: 285/55/20 (na). While driving 60-65 mph, the vehicle shook violently. The contact exited the vehicle and noticed bubbles in the tread on both front tires. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The vin and dot number were unknown. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 40,000 and the tire failure mileage was 25,000.
