The contact owns a 2016 ram 3500 equipped with nexen roadian htx tires, size: lt235/80/r17. While driving 45 mph, the low tire pressure warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent tire shop where it was diagnosed that the rear inner passenger side tire had approximately 32 holes in the center of the tire. The contact also mentioned that during the week of july 3rd, the front driver's side tire had to be replaced by an independent tire shop. The vehicle was taken to prince frederick chrysler jeep dodge (265 solomons island rd, prince frederick, md 20678) and repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 42,000. The dot number was unknown.
Nexen tires lt235/80r. Had a right front tire separate with 10,232 miles on it. As soon as that one was replace put on another 220 mile and the other fron tire separates. Nexen will not honor and claim and will not back their product. When the second tire separated i was pulling a 15k pound 5th wheel on the interstate. It was like i had the death wobble no matter what speed. These are dangerous tires and should be recalled. However i am not waiting with this safety all tires are being replaced. Both times during separation i was driving the vehicle.
Nexen roadian htx rh5lt235r/80-17 lr e.right front tire has started to have an internal issue. The tire has "crowned" on the tread line. Meaning it has an arc on tread area from side to side and is higher in the center. Vehicle vibrates while driving it between 40 to 70 mph. All tires were rotated at about 6,500 miles. The vehicle is at 7,900 miles currently.the vehicle has always had some shaking to it since it was new. It has gotten progressively worse. I won't even bother with a warranty claim. These tires should be banned from us dot approval and fca should be fined hevavely for being allowed to put nexen tires on it's trucks period. All owners should be given credit towards purchasing replacement tires.there are many forums with various complaints about the nexen tires being installed on ram trucks. For the safety of myself and fellow ram owners the nexen tires should be banned from entering the usa either via oem choice or any retailer or commercial seller.these tires have an early 2014 date code.i'll be purchasing a nice new pair of bridgestone tires for my truck.
Front passenger side tire had large ballon form on inside sidewall causing uneven rolling. Lt 235/80/17. Luckily i wasnt hauling my 5th wheel toyhauler when this developed i imagine the rest of the tires on the vehicle are faulty as well. Lives are at risk with these tires on my vehicle
