On may 25 i was traveling on us 71 aprox. 6 miles south on neosho,mo when i had a tire blowout on my 2006 28.5' fifth wheel camper. By the time i got pulled to the shoulder the tire tread had came apart and done over $1200.00 damage to the side of the trailer. I put spare on and drove to the town of neosho's wal-mart and purchased a new goodyear class d trailer tire and had it put on ground and they disposed of the shredded one. My ins. Agent when looking at my claimsaid that he thought the tire in front of the new tire was bad also, so i took the camper to the tire shop where he said that all were separated and one was ready to blow. He said he could get that brand but didn't recommend them as they wasn't good tires but cheap and said their wasn't any place to get them warraneted so i bought 3 more goodyears to match. These tires cant have over 3000 miles on them. I kept the tires in case they need to be checked. Also the brand is nankang size st225/75r15 dot # wehh239440402 (x2) and the other ends with 03 and of course the one left at wal-mart that we don't know the #'s. I think these tire shouldn't be allowed on the road as lives could be lost with these cheap tire. The manufacture of the 5th wheel is kz durango ser#& is a 2006 model. If there is anything that can be done it would be appreciated.

I've noticed my tires this morning are starting to tear i only have about 5 to 7000 miles on them i hardly use the car, however i take good care of my vehicle,i've never had this problem until now i really would like to see this taken care of, nankang sport ns-1215-45-17.

I bought my 2008 nissan altima from champion nissan, katy, texas. I paid $2000 for four boss wheels and tires. At 15,000 miles, i had two tires fall apart and have belts to separate making the car un-drivable. Now i have a third tire which seems like it is trying to do the same;however, i have had to stop driving the car for safety reasons. I contacted champion nissan(281-644-1100 ) and spoke with two managers, rafael and phil;, and have been put off for ten days now because they are trying to pass the buck to the vendor which sold them the boss wheels w/ tires.they have found out that the business is now "out of business" and they seem to be in meetings all the time. Can someone help me convince them that since the car was purchased with the no good tires from them, they ought to put decent tires on my car so i can drive it? the warranty book they gave me describes goodyear, bf goodrich and dunlop tires....nothing is mentioned about nankang tires. Help!

Driving down the massachusetts's pike, taking exit 10 off it, went threw the toll and hit a gigantic pothole. It was about 9:30 at night, so it was pitch black outside when turning on to the ramp and not being able to see the pot hole. A front right tire was flattened and a flat bed truck needed to come to bring us 80 miles home. A new tire was needed, bought, and put on truck.

I had purchase 4 tires and only had traveled 5,000 miles . The company i bought them from did not tell me the warranty on the tires until one of them the belt separated i purchase them march 08 and in sept 09 is when it happened. I took it back to the company and they informed me that they only had a year warranty on the tires. They told me that i would have to purchase another one which this was a manufacture defect in the tire. And they told me that they would get with the supplier and see if they could get me credit on the tire. Still not hearing anything about the tire i had another one to separate on 12-19-09. I went and had all the tires and rims taking off of my truck and purchase new rims and tires from a different place and then i went back to the company where i had purchase the defective tires and showed them again that another separated he then wanted to get it and let the supplier see it and i told him not until i hear anything about the first one that he had sent back. He has had the 1st tire for almost 4 months and now he wants the rest i think not. I want a total refund of all my tires but he is talking about tread wear credit. They should not go by that since those tires are defective. Dotu865 ns all-sport performance x/p. Nankang 792 0507 h5.

Nanking milestar trailer tires sidewall failure/cracking st225/75r15load ranged

I purchased 4 new nankang ex-500 tires for my 1995 honda civic ex in october 2005.they seemed to be in near perfect condition up until the incident.no balding or wearing was visible.on 2-12-06 while traveling on the freeway at approx. 75 mph, the sidewall on the right front tire completely separated from the tire without warning and very abruptly, forcing me into the lane to my right and narrowly missing a collision with a vehicle in that lane.i was able to get over to the shoulder to change the tire for a spare.i obviously had to replace the tire, and in addition, i will need to adjust my alignment as it was seriously compromised as a result of this incident.

The following letter was sent to ford motor company:may 1, 2004ford motor companycustomer relations centerp.o. Box 6248dearborn, mi 48126good afternoon.the purpose of this letter is to alert you of a possible problem with hankook tires.i purchased and took delivery of a 2004 f-150vin#[xxx] on february 20, 2004. This vehicle came equipped with hankook tires. Yesterday, april, 31st 2004 while driving the right rear tire split from the rim to the tread after 5,000 miles of highway driving. I am not an expert but i see no sidewall damage that could have caused this failure. I suspect this is simply a badly defective tire.i have started the process of getting a new tire under the limited warranty offered by hankook. I have contacted hankooks corporate headquarters in rancho cucamonga, california. I have alerted my local ford dealer, heritage ford in loveland, colorado but hanook has given me a ford hotline number which i was advised to pass on to the dealer as a first step. I will do that first thing on monday may3rd.if ford would like to inspect the tire please let me know promptly.i suspect i will be sent to a local hankook tire dealer for adjustment and they most likely will keep the damaged tire.regards,no injury or vehicle damage occured. The manufacturer has refused to replace the tire saying that failure involved a road hazard. I don't believe that to be the case. I have the tire and would be happy to turn it over to you for examination.[xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Tire blow out on freestar tire manufactured by nankang tires.3 others were found to be separating on sidewalls before they blew out.

I purchased two new nankang tires for the front wheels on my 1991 nissan stanza on 8/11/05.on 8/16/05 while driving toward washington on oregon i-84, the left front tire experienced a blowout of the sidewall, causing the car to climb the center divider.i managed to bring the car under control without rolling, but i injured my back and leg in the process.

My kz new vision sportster fifth wheel trailer came equipped with "freestar" brand tires, made in china by nankang, and imported by tireco. On our first trip, about 1200 miles from home, i experienced a blowout. I called my dealer, who referred me to a factory rep at "kz". Both indicated there has been problems with these tires, and told me to call tireco, who was handling the claims. They said that they would reimburse for replacement of any tires that were defective. I expressed my concern about the remaining tires, and they said to ship them all back for evaluation. I replaced all five, including the spare, at a cost of over $1100.00. I just received a check for them for $171.22, and their explanation was "four tires were used, one was defect", and will only replace the one that was "defect". They said they will ship the other four back to me, but i didn't think to ask who would pay the shipping. I have no way to prove the other four were defective, nor can i confirm the originals are being returned, rather than substitutes. I feel that i have been "taken" all the way around.

In less than 300 miles i have had three tire failures (tread separating from the tire body).in two of the cases i was moving at highway speeds and in the other i found the tread separation during normal inspection.tire failure on an rv could cause very serious accidents should the rv serve or turnover causing the tow vehicle driver to lose control.

Two original equipment nankang trailer tires on kz 5th wheel camper (montego bay) blew out within 100 miles of each other at about 3500 total miles driven.$5,050 in total damages affected both right and left sides of the trailer.the distributor tireco, inc. Acknowledged the tires were at fault, gave some credit on 2 tires and repaired coach damage.no credit was given for the three tires remaining.the nankang tires were rated at load range e with maximum load 3520 @ 80 psi.the vehicle's gvwr is 16,000 lbs.i drove 60-65 mph and kept the pressure at the recommended 80 psi.after the blowouts i removed the nankang tires and installed four goodyear steel belted g-rated trailer tires which have all steel belts.the nankang sidewall construction is polyester (2); the tread is polyester (2), steel (2) and nylon(1).despite the e rating and the 3520 load rating the nankang tires are not safe and of sufficient quality for the load indicated on the tire.they should not be installed on 5th wheel trailers in the u.s.

1.the first complaint would not let me enter the vin as it appears on the official title(ref odi number 10143600).the vin on the title is: [xxx]if you check you will see the difference.2.since the first failure i weighed the trailer wheel by wheel.the results are a follows:right front 1500 lbs; right rear1300, left front 1600, left rear 1100.the scales were rented from a local scale company calibrated with standards traceable to the national bureau of standards.3.prior to departing the camp ground on the very next outing with the trailer, i checked the tire pressure of the tires.i noticed when checking the left front, which was 20 psi low (a goodyear marathon) that the tread on the left rear was distorted.further investigation revealed that the tread was in fact distorted and most likely caused by a belt separation.updated 07/27/2012 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

1.installed pressure pro tpms prior to trip.checked tire pressure(with hand held gauge-new this year) prior to leaving camp ground (65 psi) and was in accordance with sidewall psi listing.all monitor pressures were identical to hand held pressure gauge.2. Just prior to entering the hampton roads bridge tunnel complex (at the va check station prior to getting on the bridge, rechecked each tire pressure with monitor, stepping through each tire and noting pressure on each.all were between 63 and 70 psi.i had been on the road at this time for about an hour.3.between the little creek road exit and the tide water drive exit the monitor sounded off.by the time i got to the shoulder the monitor was still indicating 20 psi.i stood on the shoulder of i64 and watched the tire go flat.i still have the tire if you want to examine it.
