Within 500 mile span, had 4 catasphrophic sidewall blowouts on 4 of the 6 tires phoned the manufacturer who seemed less than eager to assist i have a memo outlining all the details (dates, locations, etc.) i consider this a serious problem. Only quick reflexes and strength held the vehicle on the road when one of the two front blowouts occurred. The other front was replaced before it was allowed to fail. The vehicle was weighed almost 2000 pounds under maximum gross vehicle weight, single previous owner has 30+ years experience as rver and i am former aircraft maintenance officer we understand preventive maintenance and proper tire inflation.

I have michelin tires on a 1996 fleetwood motor home and out of 4,000 miles i have had 2 blow outs. Michelin denies warranty claims tires were run low on air pressure. This is not true.2 other motorhome owners within 25 miles of this area are experiencing the same problem. [xxx] had 2 blow outs and warranty problem with michelin. [xxx] also same problem with 3 blow outs.both are filing a claim with your office. Conversation with others on the road manyi have found at least 6 others on the road with problems with michelin tires on motorhomes. No particular home all different makes and models. The concern is safety in which this could cause a head on collision or a loss of control with fatalities to our family. This is also getting to be expensive to the point of having to call for road service to chg tire and then to purchase a spare for back up. Not to mention the lost times sitting beside the road.i contacted michelin direct after their representative filed his report and that's when they advised of the low air pressure problem. All tires checked by dealer before trip and always set at proper pressure. Discussion with several dealers 2 are michelin dealers suggest michelin does not want to admit of a problem.thank you,[xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
