2001 acura integra developed problems with the michelin xgt v4 tire equipment.the vehicle skidded out of control on wet pavement.***no answer required***. *mrthe consumer's son was involved in two serious accidents with this vehicle in which it skidded out of control while on a wet surface.both times the consumer's son was at fault.the consumer came across numerous complaints about the vehicle michelin xgt v4 tires having poor traction on wet surfaces.the consumer believes the tires were the cause of the two accidents his son had in the vehicle.
I bought four michelin xgt-v4 tires.one tire did not have the four number dot stamp which indicates week and year of manufacture.the other three tires had them clearly marked.
First incident occurred while makeing emergency stop on hiway.car stopped accordingly but left flat spots on both front tires creating hazardous driving condition.second incident occurred during normal slowing down.abs was not available on vehicle in order to reduce overall weight.this in addition to the poor craftmanship of the oem xgt v4 tires on the vehicle made for a disaster waiting to happen.tires on automobile were not water savvy as one would believe. Michelin tires model xgt h4 225-60 r/16 sidewall blow out on 2 tires on seperate occasions 6/05 and 7/05.tires were less than 2 years old with 30,000 miles.serial # of second tire that blew-out was au 795 35-55030-01both tires failed at approximately 50 mph on a highway in the metro dc area, no object or pothole was struck, there was no damage to either wheel.both tires that failed were located on the rear of the vehicle
Consumer purchased 4 new michelin tires. Size p195/55/r15,dot b95vb68x3001. Xgt v4. 3 of the 4 tires blew outat sidewalls, andbubbles developed on sidewalls.
