Have repeated tire failures in 3 michelin pilot mxm4 rbl 94v tl p225/55r16 tires @ 30,000 miles due to very small pinhole leaks in the sidewall seam. The tires came as oem tires with my new 2003 acura rl 3.5 sedan. Had to junk the tires since the leak developed slowly while driving on the highway. Contactedmichelin and reported this complaint but they did not care to answer! the sidewalls are extremenly weak for a 225 hp high performance vehicle.

I have had two valve stem failures in as many months.

Carried my milan premier for its required annual state of nc inspection.the vehicle failed the inspection due to the following:the rear led lights glowed in the brake light mode when the headlights were turned on.when the brakes were applied, the small rear light below the rear spoiler came on. Both rear lamp assemblies had to be replaced by a ford dealer.without the inspection i would not have known the problem existed.a search on the internet indicates many similar problems with milan premier led lights.this is my first vehicle with led lights. Based on my experience, a warning system should be placed on vehicles with these lights if they perform in this manner when malfunctioning. The consumer stated he recently noticed a crack in the sidewall near the top of all the tires, located in a groove that circled the tires.the tires were inspected, and a gesture of goodwill credit was offered. Vehicle equipt with low profile sports tires.while driving on sr2 in jeruselum township ohio i lost control of the vehicle and began skidding on black ice.anti-lock brakes did not engage to my knowledge and $9000 damage was done to the vehicle.rear axle failed during the impact into an embankment which absorbed much of the impact.side airbag deployed as designed but front did not.i am assuming that this is due to me sliding backwards up the embankment without any direct frontal impact.i walked away from it but am concerned about the fact that hyundai has marketed this car towards the younger "invinvible" generation who do not realize these tires aren't made for fast driving in bad weather.i am also concerned about why the antilock brakes did not engage.the car is at brown automotive and is still awaiting repair.i have informed the insurance company about the brakes and will follow up with this report when i get word.

Since november 2008, i've had to buy two new tires and replace the valve stems on the other two tires on my 2007 mercury milan.faulty valve stems cost me $450 on a car that wasn't even two years old.the mechanics who worked on my car all informed me of the bad valve stems that went out in 2007, so why as an owner was i never told about this problem when i purchased the car?isn't it the manufacturer's responsibility to inform the customer or be pro-active and replace the tires?

My wife was driving our 04' camry limited edition with michelin p235/45/18 mxm4 factory installed tires at 70 miles an hour one tire blew out. The company was sent an e-mail outlining the incident. They ask us to bring the tire in to be checked. After examination we were told the failure was due to a small puncturethe size of a tooth pick in the center of the tire. The rip in the tire where it blew was about 8" long and was right at the area of where the belt meets the side wall. The event caused my wife to become extremely upset. We have ordered 4 new tires from costco because my wife does not believe the company's findings. Upon further examination by me i noticed the inside of the tire rubber was extremely damaged only on one side that blew in a circle where the belt joins the side wall. The opposite side was in pristine condition. We have our cars dealer serviced routinely. The new tires have cost us more than $1000.00 for 4 new tires. We do not accept the company's findings and wish to go on the record regarding this tire failure incident. The vehicle is still parked awaiting the delivery of the new tires which are not stocked any where locally.

Purchased new 2007 acura rdx in july 2007 with michelin pilot tires. On 5/5/08 with less than 14,000 miles, experienced sidewall blowout on i-270 in maryland while traveling under the speed limit (traffic).purchased new tire at acura.i was told it was caused by running over something in the road (which i don't recall doing).8/22/08 noticed another tire was low on air. There was a small hole in the tread area so the tire was repaired at local shop.again was told i ran over something.on november, experienced blowout with a large hole in the sidewall while traveling at highway speed on i-70 in maryland.brought car to acura again and was told i was just unlucky and again, ran over "something" in the road.at this point, i had now replaced two tires and had a third repaired.on december 5, i drove to pennsylvania.the car sat parked all day.at night, when i went out, the remaining two original tires were both flat.i had to stay overnight and wait until morning. I found a local tires plus an purchased four new bridgestone tires as i did not feel the michelins were safe.in 17 months, with 22,000 miles on the vehicle, i have purchased 6 tires and spent over $1400.i drive mostly highway on well maintained and heavily traveled roads.i don't speed or drive recklessly.the vehicle is kept in my garage overnight and had been serviced regularly at acura.in over 30 years of driving, ihave only had one other flat tire.i have had 4 in 7 months.all 4 of the originalmichelin tires gave out.i am fortunate that i was not injured but i am convinced the tires are defective and dangerous.

On 3/18/09, i had a tire fail on my 2007 ford fusion because of a re-called dill # 414 valve stem. I had to replace the michelin tire that had 10,487 miles on it. I also replaced the other three valve stems that were cracked (also dill#414). I am six weeks away from traveling from michigan to florida at interstate speeds of 70 mph. If this tire had failed at those speeds, i don't think i would have been able to control my vehicle to a safe stop. Ford motor co. (gorno ford dealership in woodhaven, mi.) has no information about this problem. When i called tech international (clay johnson at 740-967-9015), he said that ford motor co. Dearborn is well aware of this problem.this is a serious safety problem that could have resulted in a fatal injury. I have the defective valve stems in my custody.

The contact would like to use the emailed complaint.we had a michelin 225/70r 19 radial pilot ii tires on our motor home come apart. This destroyed our motor home. This happened at 62 mph. I feel that you should look into this because no tire should come apart like this. The tread pealed off and tore up the wheel well and the inside of the motor home. We have taken pictures of this and would be happy to send them to you. Also if your going to look into this you should, right away because aaa totaled it out and will be auctioning it off soon.

My tire michelin pilot hx mxm4 blew while driving. There was no reason for it to blow like it did. It seems that the tire was defective.

Michelin pilot hx mxm4 tire failure complaint against acura and michelin tire corporations**ccthe right front tire dislodged completely off of the rim. The portion of the tire which comes in contact with the road surface completely separated from the remainder of the tire. The dislodge portion of the tire passed completely over in front of the consumers vehicle and proceeded to roll in the pathway of three adjacent lanes of traffic. The consumers vehicle was damage due to loosing some control of the vehicle when the incident occurred. The tire was inspected by a tire dealer and it was determined that there was puncture to the tire or any prior damage to the tire, it was clearly a defect with the tire.the consumer also experienced problems with the drivers side window. The regulator and motor were replaced.

Little tiny cracks have appeared on the sidewall of the tires near the rim, which i believe are created due to the tires being dry rotted. Does this mean the tires are too old when they were put on the car? the car dealership makes it sound like this is normal wear.

The 2003 honda pilot has a vibration in the tires that the dealer has had in the shop three times, since day one to try to fix the tire vibration (70 mph and up, sometimes felt at lower speeds).the tires still emits a steady and obvious vibration that eminates from the steering wheel and seats.it seems to me that there is a flat spot in the tires.pilot owners who experience this problem are entitled to honda's unrelenting attention and commitment to correct this mystery.

All four tiresdeveloped sidewall bubbles, which resulted in a blow out while driving.the tires were replaced, but the front left tire developed sidewall bubbles again.

Consumer felt that the tires on this vehicle were not the proper size. Consumer had to replace five front tiresdue to blow outs at the sidewalls.

I have a 2004 cadillac xlr with 8031 miles.the car has michelin pilot zeropressure tires. The sidewalls bubble when you hit a pothole, and i don't mean a big pot hole. I have watched many cars travel through this part of the road and hit the same pot hole i hit without their sidewalls bubbling and having to replace the tires.this happened on the first and only pothole i hit.these tires sell for $415.00 plus tax.they should hold up at least as well as the 79.99 special which had no damage to their tires.

Going home from work near dusk on the freeway, my car began to veer to the left then the right making it very difficult to control the car.i had never experienced any problems with the car (only a year and a half old) so i had no idea what it could be.i began to get very nervous especially with trailer trucks driving near me.as i began to pull over i heard a loud noise come from the rear passenger side.once stopped,i quickly went to inspect the passenger side where i saw that my tire had completely separated from the tread.at this point, i really got scared just thinking of what could have happened to me if i had completely lost control.the good thing is that i am usually a safe driver.i assume that if i were driving in excess of speed i would not be here now. After ten minutes of recovery, i proceeded to change the tire. I was near a sam's so i decided to see if i could have someone look at the tire and have it changed but it was late (8 pm) and they were closed.

Noise ,all tires.

Excessive tire wear, tread separation, poor handling, vibration.

2007 cadillac sts. Consumer writes in regards to a thumping and tugging sound from the front tires. *tgwthe dealer stated the belts were starting to separate. Also, the transmission shift control assembly was replaced.

A michelin hxmxm4 225-50-17 installed on my ford fusion 2006 just lost all the tread area after just some 1500 miles on it. I called ford and michelin and i got no answer. Since the tires are made in the usa and ford is a us brand, i would like to file this complaint. I have plenty of pictures i might send to you in case you need them. I have called michelin, because this is a brand new tire, so there is no tires on any dealer, and also, to ask them to honor the warranty but it seems that no one wants to help out and they say it must be my fault and not michelins fault since their tire have never ever had such type of problem.thank you.

The contact owns a 2007 mercedes benz slk280.the vehicle has michelin pilot, size 245/40r17 tires.while driving 35 mph, the vehicle began rocking and shaking.when the contact inspected the vehicle, she discovered that the rear passenger side tire was split at the seam.mercedes roadside assistance changed the tire.she was informed by mercedes that she would be responsible for the tire and suggested that she drove over something to cause the failure.the current and failure mileages were 7,000.

Michelin tire: size 2554518 a/s pilot; upon walking away from the rear of the vehicle, the consumer discovered a white substance on the rear tire.after examining closer, it was the tread belts showing through the middle of the tire.this problem is also showing on the other rear tire.michelin has been in contact but issue not resolved.please provide details.

Tire failure.second tire failure on the same wheel, on the same side of the vehicle within 4 months of each failure.

Within 15 months and 5,000 miles of purchase, michelin pilot primacy 195/55r15 tire showed tread separation and required replacement. Michelin only offered to refund 25% of tire cost (and only for a new michelin tired).

Noticed low tire, went to fill with air, and valve stem pulled out of tire.went to dealership, and they sold me a new tire.i explained the situation, with the valve stem, but they made no comment of any problems. I have the old valve stem.

I have had two valve stem failures in as many months.

I had a flat tire and when i got it repaired was told it was avalve stem...my car only has 17,000 miles on it and was told this should not have happened...2 days later, another flat tire on a different tire while i was driving to work...i stopped and got a can of 'fix-a-flat- and when putting it in the tire, noticed it was leaking at the valve stem...i had 8 more miles to drive to work...to make a long story short, i had to replace the tire due to a side wall bubble from driving it without proper inflation.

6/9/08 after leaving the car parked at a store for 20 minutes, the front right tire was totally flat.had car towed to northshore firestone and tires inc ..they said the valve failed. On the tire...i had the shopreplace the valveand rebalance the tire.........7/16/2008 i was about to go to work and found the front lefttire. Missing half of the air...i took out my cordless air pump ,,attached it to the valve and felt air coming out of the valve, at the stem...had it towed to my mechanic ,huntington diagnostic in huntington and had the front and back 2 valves replaced ..i also had the service station keep the 3 valves for me to pick up when the work was completed.........the tires were originally replaced along with the 4 valves august /2006 the car had 55k from nys discount tire 1765 ny ave huntington station ny 11746 631-423-8473 ronnie/owner at the time of the 2 flats i had 75k and 77k on the car.....ningbo yinzhou haixin tire valve co ltd----makes the valves.

Tire system is unsafe on my 2003 mercedes benz c230 compressor. Tires pop when hitting curbs because of 17" rims at only 2 mph and tire wear is only 15k per tire.replaced two tires while traveling only minimal speed.tires have only 10k miles.

Pitting and corrosion occurring on the rims that came stock on my 2002 vw gti 337.this car was a limited edition vehicle for the usa, with only 1500 made.fitting of rims and black spots are noted, as well as whitish spots that indicate corrosion of the underlying metal.i wash these rims on a weekly basis with a non-acidic wheel shampoo, as well as waxing them on a monthly basis with wheel-specific wax.however, aformentioned condition continues to worsen.

While driving 25-30 mph vehiclehit a pot hole and itvibrated uncontrollably.driver was pulled over and noticed that the rear left tire was flat. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that the tire needed to be replaced. Second tire developed a bubble on outside yet the tire had no sign of damage on the outside, this happened at 42,538 miles. Consumer has both faulty tires.the dealerstated that the left rear rim and tire were bent and replaced rear tire and rim mount and balanced the tires.
