Whenever it rains, water seems to splash on the braking surfaces due to normal driving in these conditions.the problem is when you apply the brakes for approximately 1 - 2 seconds you have no braking action.unless you ride the brakes to keep them warm and dry, you basically have no brakes until that water film is evaporated due to friction.this is not just a once in a lifetime happening.i felt this problem everytime it rains.you do not have to go through a puddle, just the spray off the wet road is enought to experience this problem. I have made numerous visits to the dr since for regular examinatins from this incident.upon the explosion the local fire dept and sheriffs office did respond to our home wherer the accident occured. At purchase, car seemed to pull to the left when accelerating.after about 3500 miles, the rear driver's side tire blew out while travelling about 65 mph.there was virtually no tread wear.there was no sign of puncture in the tread.the michelin dealer said that the only way the tire could have fail this way is to drive on it extremely under-inflated.the reason why i believe that the tire was defective is because after the tire was replaced, the car no longer pulls to the left during acceleration.

I have michelin tires on my motorhome with 225/70 r19.5 and they have approx 85% rubber and i have had 2 to blow on thr road , 2 seperate trips. Both were on the rear and i had to call for serv to install a spare. 1 st tire damaged the under carrage of the home.both were side wall blow outs. We were lucky this was not on the front due to speed at the time was 65 mph. 1 st tire was covered warranty. 2nd tire was diagnosed as run low on air pressure , i know thats not true due to conaly tire co serv and checked pressure and was as required by plate. Michelin agred to pay for 1/2 of the tire but there are 4 more on the unit and what when the blow. With all the reports of michelin tires blowing i dont feel safe on the road with these tires. Michekin dealers in this area dont want to handle warranty due to either michelin wont pay or it takes 6 months to collect. 2 other aquantiance that i have met in this area , 1 has had 3 blow outs and damage to home, the other has 2 blow outs , both are having same problem with warranth after 1 tire. Conversations on the road finds lots of people with michelin tire problems and michelin warranty problems.this has become a serious problem with safety to our famalies and anyone on the road.it appears that a serious investigation is needed in this matter.not only do we not get proper warranty on these tires but we have to spend extra money for road service and repair on our motor homes. Also the safety of our family stuck beside the road at night.

Tires dvelop bubbles on sidewalls, weakening, the tire and may cause tire to pop at any time. (tiresize: 1956515h)

Sidewall bubbles - two on same tire 1/4 around tire apart.i understand that a bubble can be cause by a pothole impact, however, after talking to a nhtsa expert and viewing the tire i am not convinced it was not defective.the tire is a high end tire (not cheap) and should be able to hold up to regular driving.since there are two bubbles it lends itself to the view that there was a defect in the cord itself which perhaps made it weak .i am concerned as my car is an all wheel drive vehicle and i have all four michelin pilot alpin tires (snow tires) on the car.the tires were purchased in nov. 2000, and were only on the vehicle for the winter.they have approx. 3-4 k miles on them.i just had them put back on my car on october 29, 2001.i noticed the larger bubble when i had my car in for service on nov. 6, 2001.the other smaller bubble i noticed as i was looking for the dotnumbers for this report.on nov. 6, 2001 i had a tire dealer look at the tire ( i don't know if the new bubble was there at that time - it is apparent but much smaller in appearance)could the cord be so weak that with having taken off and put the tire backon both on 10/29 and 11/6 caused it to bubble?i am concerned as it was difficult to find consumer complaints as it is unclear whether they are listed as the pilots or xse in your database.in fact when i called the hotline he said he could not find this tire at all in your database (i did online).if he had trouble, are other complainants having the same difficulty and putting them in the wrong category, or just giving up?please check thouroughly for other complaints, especially pilot alpin and xse as both are on the tire.
