I've spent over $8000 towards vw dealership attempts at fixing the horn, radio, homelink, climate control (a/c and heat) rear passenger side window, heated seats, dashboard panel lights, and defroster flap. Vw replaced abs and brake light module, but only fixed the horn. Vw stated they are not responsible even after i paid for them to fix the above problems and they are still unable to determine the cause of the problems. I request reimbursement from volkswagen for the repair attempts and related expenses. Current vehicle mileage: 127,000.

My trans. Was replaced in 2003 because of a shifting problem.my car was still under warranty, however, i was told that i would have to pay for the repair.i paid for the repair and in 2006 i had the same problem.i was told that it was a recall, but when i informed mcgrath acura that i should be reimbursed, it was denied.i also complained of a clicking noise in the radio that was never looked in to when i tookmy car in for trans., apparently this is a common defect where the pins within the 6cd changer go bad, but i have yet to see a recall.i have also experienced problems with the bubbling michelins.i have had three blowouts and have finally replaced the tires with a different brand, which i think is unfair.i have also had problems with the brakes.i have had to replace original rotors for warping.my paint seems to be chipping really bad and it has been since original purchase.i also have had problems with the seat belt not retracting.

I bought a new 2006 kia optima ex in apr 2006. Sept 2006 the key fobs quit working and the pass side back seat does not secure itself in place at the bottom of the seat and stay/taken to a dealership and fixed. July 2007, the key fob again quit working/taken to the dealership and i was told a tsb was out on this problem and they would replace the receiver which was done. Nov 2007 after the tsb supposedly was taken care of, again the key fob quits working/dealership has again reprogrammed to work again and currently they continue to work. This car handles extremely poorly and in my opinion is a safety risk. It seems to have a pretty loose suspension and a lot of swaying when driving. The car pulls hard to the left causing one to have to hold the steering wheel tight to keep it from taking nearly a 45 degree left turn while driving. When applying the brakes, the car pulls both left and right/usually left. When driving over a smooth dip in the road, it feels the front tires actually leave the ground slightly causing the steering wheel to vibrate right/left quickly. This vehicle also handles extremely poorly on icy roads. This is without any question the worst handling vehicle i have ever driven...concerns me as i drive on the highway about 35 miles to work one way daily, and drive in windy as well as snow and icy conditions fairly frequently.at about 15,000 miles, the latch on the gas door doesn't want to stay closed after you fuel up and the electronics that operate the side view mirrors intermittently do not work.feb 2008, my car reached 30,000 miles and when washing it last week, i noted an area of paint peeling off on the driver's side door trim (black), as well as the chrome paint starting to bubble. I took pictures of both of these areas.since driving this car off the showroom floor, it has been garaged at both work and home. Last week (feb 2008), driver's side seatbelt quit retracting.

While driving on the highwayright rear michelinmxv4 tire disintegrated.parts of the tire ruptured the gas tank.on 6/18/2003 the consumer contacted the manufacturer, who stated that vehicle was not involved in the recall# 02v026000.on 6/20/2003 the dealer called and informed the consumer all damages to the vehicle would be fixed per the recall.a recall notice was received after the call from the dealer was made. *ph

While driving, right rear tire blew out. The well lining between the tire and the fuel tank for cusion purpose was observed to be bended around the top portion of the tire. Pieces of tire hit fuel tank and caused a fuel leak which may have resulted in a fire. ( dot number: m3ta cxyx tire size: 15 )

I purchased a new 2005 hyundai tiburon on march 09, 2005 in cincinnati, ohio.at about 9,000 miles i noticed the car was behaving differently.by 16,000 miles even i who am not mechanical could figure out that the clutch was failing.i was amazed that this could be the case with so few miles on it, however.at this time i am living in southern california so i can safely sat that at least 2500 of those miles were accumulated on the interstate moving the car from ohio.the dealer in cathedral city, ca blamed me for the failure implying that i was not capable of driving a manual transmission.i, however, am 39 years old, have had 11 new cars since i began driving and all of them were manual transmissions.the only time i have ever needed to have a clutch assembly replaced was my previous car, a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt with 93,000 miles (i have that documentation).i am concerned that this is going to be a recurring issues every 10-20,000 miles at least $1000.00 each time.this should have never failed in the first place and then it certainly should have been covered by the warranty.hyundai agreed to pay 60% as a "good will" gesture.i have the extended warranty and i had never encountered a clutch that failed so early on.the other major issue are the tires which are michelin mxv4 plus.i have had every one replaced once and two replaced twice.they don't seem to be able to stay inflated.i purchased a protection plan after the third replacement but i am worried about one of the tires going flat late at night.this is all ridiculous for a new car.

After owning the car and driving it for less than 100 miles, there was a noticeable vibration on the around 60-75 mph.the tires were re-balanced and the condition remains.the vehicle was taken to another dealer and re-balanced and the problem continues.when i returned again to the purchasing dealer for this problem for a third time, i was provided a loaner vehicle (gls v-6) and it has the same problem, but more evident.when i received my vehicle, the problem remains.

A couple months after i bought the car i began to hear a very annoying "howl" coming from the front left corner of the car.soon after the car would vibrate after accelerating to a certain point.i finally couldn't stand driving the car because of the noise so i had it towed back to the dealer.they checked and said that something was wrong with the bearings in the front left tire.for a while, it was fine but now it's starting to do the same thing again a year later in the same location it seems like.i only have 38,000 miles on this car.i don't think it should have recurring problems like this.also, recently i've noticed that it is jumping into gears rather than making a smooth transition like it used to. *la

I purchased 4 new tires for my vehicle on 7/24/2010 the tires in question are michelin p245/45r18 primacy mxv4 96v. After only 3500 miles the rear right tire blew on the highway, fortunately for me there was heavy traffic and i was not doing over 30mph. The tire was replaced with the spare tire and then it was discovered a 3" gash from the side wall to the first thread. No foreign objects were found in the tire to suggest that i picked something on the road, however i did notice that the reinforcements were ripped i am concerned about the safety of these tires and have kept the damaged tire for inspection for anyone who may want to investigate. Thank you.

05/25/07 defectivesmichelin tires customer states that the tires life was only 1/2 the time expected**ccthe consumer provided a copy of the invoice for tires and a copy of the tires make, model, and size. The consumer noticed a buldge on the sidewall of the right rear tire.

Right rear blowout driving out of my driveway. The blowout was on the inside of the tire and i didn't hit anything. I just heard a loud pop! the tire size is p205/60r16 .this is on my 2006 mazda with only 25,000 miles. The tread is excellent. I have read of hundred of cases where michelin tires are blowing out on newer cars. What the story. Are you guys supposed to protect the consumer or not ?????

Brand new acura tl 2008 model. The rear left tire went flat without cause. I called the manufacturer they told me to go to mavis and have them look at it. I am on a donut and they expect me to go drive around. Rather then shipping a new tire to my dealer so he can put it on they told me to go have it looked at it. This means i have to risk my life driving to a dealer who is going to try to charge me more money. I have 1,300 miles on my brand new car.

I had a blowout on the interstate at 55mph. No notice just blew out, did not hit anything. Tire replaced at my expense.

I own a nissan quest with the michelin pax run-flat tire system.the pax run-flat tire system is a defective product.i purchased the car in november 2007.by 13 months, at 18,000 miles, 2 of the tires had worn to the point where the dealer said they needed to be replaced.at 20,600 miles we had all 4 tires replaced.in 32nds of an inch, sears measured the tread at : left front - 1,0,0, right front - 2,2,1,right rear - 3,3,4,left rear was similar to right rear but had already been replaced due to a nail in it.michelin had to courier a complete tire and wheel assembly to my home on the nailed tire because there is no tire dealer within 20 miles of us in downtown chicago that can work on the pax tires other than perhaps a honda dealer who told us they would not work on a nissan.our nissan dealer is not equipped to work on this tire.our situation is not unique.a web search turns up many people who have written about premature wear and blowouts with the pax tire system.there are 2 class-action lawsuits related to the pax system, one against honda and michelin and one against nissan and michelin.with the wheels on our new car we can only have pax tires so either we need to spend thousands of dollars to replace the wheels, potentially voiding our warranty, or continue to replace our tires every 20,000 miles, assuming we can get them.it took a week to have replacement tires shipped to chicago.i can only imagine that the problem will get worse the longer we own the car.michelin has end of life the product and only manufactures new pax tires for those already on the road.this declaration was made by michelin a mere 4 months after we purchased our car new.the michelin pax tire system needs to be recalled for honda odyssey and nissan quest vehicles for premature wear, danger of blowouts and lack of people that can service them. Nissan and honda need to be forced to replace the pax wheels with wheels that can accept normal tires.

While driving on highway, rear tire failed (blewup). Tire was in good condition with good amounts of tread. Car, road, temperature, speed all were in normal conditions.

Traveling at 65mph on freeway, tire blew out on inner side.had to pull over on left side of freeway.highway patrol had to stop traffic on freeway and had me drive on flat tire to nearest exit to a safe spot for change off tire.tire dealer foud a small nail on face of tire.called michelin and was told that this type of tire would blow out when air got low and tire was on freeway because temperatures got up to 250 degrees on inside of tire.i was told that this was not considered a tire failure and was not covered under any warranty.iwas told that as a courtesy they would allow me 50% off a replacement.i consider this a very serious tire failure.i was put in a deadly situation and had to be extricated by the highway patrol because the blow out did not allow me to safely get out of the left lane and out of harms way.if a tire blow out on the freeway is the expected result of a slow leak from a small nail, this tire should be recalled.thecustomer service rep at michelin (phone 800-847-3435) told me that if i made any further complaints to the car dealer or anyone else, theywould disallow the 50% discount on the replacement tire.this alone should tell you that there is a serious problem here. *ph

Replaced 7 tires. Too many for low miles. Volvo front end causes excessive wear? (tiresize: 195/60vr15)

In june of 2011 i purchased a set of four michelin p215/60r16 primacy mxv4 tires for my 2005 mercedes benz e320 automobile.in july of 2014 one of the tires failed (lost air pressure while parked) while my wife and i were on a weekend trip out of town.the local tire shop that repaired the flat informed us that the tire could not be repaired ? the sidewall had failed and the tire would need to be replaced.the failed michelin tire had been installed for 3 years and had 50% of the usable tread wear remaining (measured later by discount tire).we temporarily replaced the tire with a non-michelin tire and saved the failed michelin.when returning from our trip we took the failed michelin back to the discount tire shop where we had purchased the set.using the road hazard guarantees when purchasing the set, discount tire replaced the failed michelin with a new michelin.while performing other vehicle maintenance in september of 2014 i observed a second michelin tire with a sidewall crack following the wheel bead for several inches before progressing radially.i again took the failed michelin back to the discount tire shop where we had purchased the set.the failed michelin tire had approximately 50% of the usable tread wear remaining.using the road hazard guarantees when purchasing the set, discount tire replaced the failed michelin with a new michelin.in october of 2014 i purchased a used car with michelin tires installed.since recently experiencing michelin tire failures i examined the used car michelins and, sure enough, i discovered a tire with three significant incipient sidewall failures.these sidewall failures of different year manufacture michelin tires seems to me to indicate a pattern of quality control problems.my limited experience with these failures seems to indicate that having the tire on a vehicle front position accelerates crack propagation.i would like to attach pictures of the tires (foot long crack - worst case).

On 12/30/2015, the tire pressure light on my 2010 hyundai sonata went on.i took the car on 12/31/2015 to discount tire for the tires to be checked.the tech discovered the sidewalls on all 4 tires were severely cracked. The front tire on the drivers side hada 5-6" long crack which was a 1/2" deep.the front passenger tire had a v shaped crack approx. 2" long on each side and approx. 1/4" deep. Both of the rear tires had visible cracks.the tech said it was not safe to drive the car & all 4 tires needed to be replaced.the tires are the original michelin energy mxv4 s8 radial sxe p215/60/r16-94v that came with the car, which i purchased brand new.i have only 33,000 miles on the car and all 4 tires have plenty of tread left and should not have had to be replaced. There currently is not & never has been a recall on these tires.however, there have been approx. 46 complaints on this site alone for the same issue that i am currently having.there were descriptions on this site of dangerous incidents that had happened on highways, local streets, etc. Sitting blowouts for no apparent reason that were caused by the defect in this particular tire.these complaints have been documented on your site starting in april 2003 & are still currently happening. Michelin has not taken responsibility for their defective tires by issuing a recall or by allowing replacement tires without cost to the owner.i've taken photos of my tires but was unable to upload the photos to this site.i would like an investigation to be done on this tires defects and if a recall is ever done that i would receive notification.thank you. I have noticed there aremany complaints about michelin tires.(mxv4) i would like to state that i also had problems with that tire. I had two unexplained blowouts on the highway, and a year later a"bubble" on the sidewall of another tire. My experience as an ex-aircraft mechanic (16 years), allowed me to know these tires are unsafe and i replaced them all. I felt really foolish that i didn't immediately take action after the blowouts because there was no visible cause either time. As i reflect back, both blowouts were on a hot summer day and the poorly constructed tire couldn't take the heat.

On 2/13/04 my wife who is 8 months pregnant was going home after a doctors appointment when she experienced a flat tire in her 2003 mercedes c240on i 75 going south near arvida parkway exit, she immediately pulled off to the side of the rode and proceded to call roadside assistance from mercedes, they advised her not to move the car any further and they would dispatch someone in about an hour. Being a heavily traveled road she was concerned due to the amount of traffic and her being right on the shoulder, she then contacted me as i was on my way to work leaving the same doctors appt, i proceded to head to her assistrance and advised her to pull further off the shoulder into the grass which she did, i arrived to her location approximatly 45 min later and there was still no assistance there, about 30 min after i arrived one of the i75 road rangers arrived and helped change the tire which was a michelen mxv4 plus radial xse4, after the tire was replaced we were proceding to the mercedes dealer in pembroke pine to get the tire replaced when my wife phoned me that the car was not riding correctly and pulling to the right , before she could get to the next exit maybe a half a mile the oppisite tire disinigrated with the whole side of the tire comming off, we again pulled over and called mercedes again and was told since we canceled the first call we would have to wait over an hour and would have to pay to tow the car since we had no spare which was used eariler. We then left the car and proceded to the pembroke pines mercedes dealer where they arranged to tow the car, we went back and waited another hour and a half for the tow truck, once the car arrived at mercedes the service advisor stateed many possible reasons for the problem including underinflation and possibly vandilism which i really doubt.

I was driving to arizona from texas on interstate 10 in a rain storm when my car started to fishtail.i thought it was hydroplaning, but it was soon totally out of control and i started to apply the brakes.my car started spinning and spun across the 15 foot grassy median which sloped down about two feet, proceeded across the two lanes of oncoming traffic, continued down a three foot sloped grassy median about three feet wide and finally came to a stop on the frontage road. My back tire had gone flat!! when i got to arizona i brought my car in to discount tire (where i had purchased the first two tires) to have the rims and tires checked.they changed the tire but could find no nail or any reason for the tire going flat.the other rear tire also had to be changed because there were cracks in the tire (the 2 rear tires had 20,000 miles on them).i was told the rims were damaged, but not to the extent that they needed to be replaced.the two front tires had to be replaced at 17,000 miles because they both had bubbles.i believe i received four defective tires when i purchased my car because these michelin tires supposed to be good for around 50,000 miles. I went on the internet and found a site of unhappy michelin customers with their horror stories.i printed ten pages of complaints, two very similar to mine where the tire went flat for no apparent reason, others that had blowouts on almost new tires.one customer stated that he was told to return the tire (as i was) and about a week later when he called he was told there was nothing wrong with the tire.he received a notice from the postal service that the tire had been delivered and it was dated after the conversation he had with michelin!jb

The vehicle was traveling in the right hand lane, north bound on route 8 in connecticut (in the area of torrington) at approximately 65 mph at 12:30 pm on the january 10, 2010. It was a clear and sunny day with temperatures in the low to mid 30's. There were two passengers in the car (in the front seat) and two snow boards and some snowboarding equipment in the trunk. With no previous indication of a problem, the side wall of the driver's side rear tire failed in two places with a loud bang and an immediate loss of pressure.as soon as it was safe (about a half mile as this section of the highway has no shoulder) the car was stopped and the tire changed. The two holes in the tire are approximately three inches apart. One is 1" by 2". The other is 1/2" x 1 5/8". Both holes go through all layers of the tire.the material from the first hole was ejected from the tire. The air pressure in all tires was checked and set by key hyundai of milford on november 14, 2009.the tread was checked by key hyundai of milford on december 30, 2009 and found to be low but safe for a few thousand more miles.the exact tire line is energy mxv4 s8.

*la

Vehicle has demonstrated abnormal front end vibration since 3/99 at which time the dealer indicated that " mud" was in the tires causing the vibration.the vibration has continued throughout my ownership of this vehicle.the van has been realigned twice since my ownership ( once with the original 4factory equipped tire and once with the replacement michelin tires).the front brakes have been repalced at 11,000 miles due to severe wear which warranted the replacement of the rotors and the brake linings as the vehcle was said to be " unsafe" by the service manager.the vibration has continued with abnormal tire wear and " cupping" on both the 4 factory equipped firestone tires and now with the 4 repalcement michelin tires.i have called american honda on several occasions to report the problem and also to ask for assistance in remedying the problem.the service technitians indicate that they are unable to locate the reason for the abnormal tire wear and vibration, but do acknowledge that they also experience the vibration, as well as see the tires are wearing abnormally.the original factory equipped tire had approximately 13,000-18,000 miles on them.the michelin replacement tires have approximately 2,000-3,000 miles on them.the vehicle had honda recommended snow tires for the months of january, february, and march 1999, after which the original ties were palced back on the vehicle.the service manager at della hondahas said that "honda is aware of this problem and feels it is the brand of tire which is incompatible with the vehicle".upon talking to linda at american honda she also agreed that if changing the brand of tires would solve the vibration, she was authorizing della dealership to replace the original firestones with the michelin tires.this was done and for approximately the first 1,000 mile there appeared to be very little vibration of the front end, after which the vibration has begun again with no remedy from the car manufacturer.

On 8/13/07, i was traveling approximately 70 miles per hour on nc hwy 52 northbound (a 4 lane divided highway) when i had a sudden massive blow out of a michelin tire on the left rear of my vehicle, a 1995 bmw 325 is.there was no warning.the tire was not low on air pressure and did not have any puncture as verified by the tire dealership owner.the tire is a michelin energy plus mxv4, size 205/60r15.it has the following lettering on it:dot aptm w17x 2306.the dealer said that the 2306 indicates the week of manufacture.the tire had 12,000 miles on it.there was a complete separation of the outside side wall from the rest of the tire.with some struggle, i was able to maintain control.fortunately there was no vehicle beside of me as i had to utilize both of the lanes in my direction to regain control.on the same day, i showed the tire to the owner of c&c tire in asheboro, nc (336-629-6634) where the four new michilen tires were purchased and installed on 4/14/07.no damage occurred to my vehicle and no personal injury was incurred.i am awaiting a call from the michelin representative to discuss replacement of the tire.i wish to report this incident only so that it can be investigated whether or not there is a manufacturing problem that is wide spread.

Sidewall of tire showed a bubble after 24,000 miles on a 2013 toyota avalon discovered by dealer on routine maintenance. In a grocery store parking lot, had to swing wide to avoid a truck turning into a row of parked cars.in doing so, the right front tire ran over the last foot of a rounded curb island at about a walking speed.the sidewall of the tire experienced a 2 inch l shaped blowout.this tire was on a new car with less than 1200 miles.i have never in 50 years had a tire have this type of blowout with such a low speed curb rollover.there was nothing in this area to cause a puncture.

A road hazard destroyed a front tire at approx 20, 000 miles. I replaced it and had new spare placed on other front wheel. Rear tires needed replacing at 47,000 miles and i requested costco tire center, sunnyvale, ca, to place new tires on front and rotate present fronts to rear wheels. Clerk refused stating that costco policy is to refuse to install new tires and mounton front wheels only. Reason was based on a study from michelin tire company. I requested and was shown costco employee manual with that direction. Study was not available.costco employee directions are that if customer insists on newer tires on front wheels, the employee is not to sell the tires to the customer. I was replacing michelin tires with michelin tires. Costco sell other brands, but this was apparently a rule for all. I contacted michelin on their website requesting availability of reading the subject study. No response in 8 days. I have always heard and followed the rule that best tires belong on front wheels for safety reasons. I have used michelin tires for years but have never heard of this condition of sale. Has michelin placed me and family in an unsafe position with this unavailable study? would appreciate nhtsa assistence in resolving this matter.

A set of michelin tires was purchased from costcoand mounted on my 2006 mercedes about one year ago.the morning after the first 6,000-mile tire rotation, the front tire on the driver's side completely separated from the vehicle on i-40 west of albuquerque, nm.costco paid for a replacement tire and damage to the rim.then, on may 13, 2009another one of the original set of michelin tires separated in a similar fashion again on i-40, nearly creating a major traffic fatality.three semi-trucks adeptlyswerved to avoid colliding with my vehicle. This time, i had to pay $1,724 to repair damage to the shock absorber and wheel well on the rear end of the passenger side.the cost also includes $880 that i paid for a new set of michelin tires from the mercedes dealership, which informed me that their tires were not compromised by extended storage in warehouses (i.e., dry-rotting).costco offered to put another new set of their tires on my vehicle, but i refused to take the risk of having old dry-rotted tires placed on my vehicle again.consequently, costco refused to pay any of the $880 charge for the new mercedes dealership tires.note:the first incident was reported to the police and aaa towed the car on both occasions.

Michelin pax system tires on a 2006 nissan quest se.we have the michelin pax tires on our minivan and they are constantly losing air, are very loud and stiff, and worst of all are very poor and dangerous in snow.we have not had good luck this past week maneuvering our minivan in any type of snow or on any slippery road surface.our vehicle can not have any other type of tire because of the system that is installed from factory and we only have 21,000 miles on the van and need new tires which cost on unbelievable amount of money (over $1200) for replacement tires when they are still very new!!!no deaths or injuries yet and we hope there never are.however, we are not able to replace our tires every year for that cost and from some other people we have talked to at the tire stores and at the dealership, it sounds like we will have to get new tires about every 20-30k and that the tires do not handle well in snow or rain.well, sounds unsafe to me!nor do they hold air very well so my little kids and i are always trying to get air in the tires at the local gas stations.absurd!please help.

My wife, janelle, and i have a 2003 volvo s60 which we purchased new in april, 2003, and which had four original equipment michelin tires (mxv-4, i believe).we use it for normal highway and suburban travel in the boston area.when the car had gone only 8000 miles, one of the left tires gave out on us. The side wall of the tire unraveled, and the tire could not be repaired.no specific cause could be determined.fortunately, this happened in a quiet cape cod town and we were not in any danger (but i was out about $150).we had no further problems until september 13, when the right front tire gave out from the side in the same manner as the previous tire on route 128 in wakefield, ma (at 23000 miles), while i was traveling more than 60 miles an hour in heavy traffic.we were lucky not to have been killed or injured.again, the tire was ruined.again, it cost me over $150 for a replacement tire. Both tire dealers who sold us replacement michelin matching tires advised us that perhaps the problem had to do with the "low profile" of the volvo s60 and bumping into curbs.yet the first tire which unraveled was on the left side of the vehicle and the second tire which unraveled had absolutely no contact with a curb for about 100 miles prior to the incident. I do not believe that this should have happened.i believe that the original tires were defective, and we are now afraid to drive the car at all, even though we are planning long trips in the next few weeks.i want the remaining tires replaced by michelin asap, and i want to be reimbursed for the $300 i have already spent on the first 2 replacement tires.have there been other complaints?what should i do?could you contact michelin for me?volvo refuses to do anything.my office phone number is 781/431-9788, and my home phone number is 781/641-0668.my cell phone no. The tires were checked, refilled and rotated and no slow leak was found. The tires are still under the 60,000 mile warranty.i barely put 5,000 miles per year on my car. Going back today hoping i don't have to get 2 new rear tires.

Purchased a whole set of michelin primacy mxv4 tires on 10/13/2016, with odometer 54993. During the service on 04/18/2018, with odometer 79700, i was informed two front tires measure below 2/32nds of an inch, and the tires need to be replaced.

To whom it may concern:i would like to report a complaint that one of the michelin tires on my new volvo s40 (bought on jan 25, 2003: [xxx]) blew out while i was driving to work. Fortunately, i was not in an accident as i was driving at about 25mph. On the same day friday (dec 12, 03) i contacted the volvo dealer with a request to fix this problem. They refused to evaluate the tire and only told me to call michelin. On dec 15, 03,i called michelin and was told that valley forge tire and auto center was the closest certified michelin dealer in my area. I made an appointment with them and went that day. Their representative told me that this tire was not faulty, and could not be covered under warranty. I had to replace the tire anyway because i was going to europe, and i needed the car to get to the airport in new jersey. (i was in pennsylvania at that time) after i returned from my vacation, i contacted an expert and was told that the blowout was the fault of the manufacturer because: 1. On the inside layer of the tire the rubber was peeling (the rubber was coming off of the tires like scales) 2. In another place also on the inside of the tire the white threads that make up the tire under the rubber were showing, i was told that the tire would have blown out in this point if not in the other. In this situation i would like to replace all four of my tires this week to goodyear. Please advise me how you plan to deal with this situation.i bought a new car and specifically the volvo because i was planning to do a lot of driving this year and needed a safe and reliable car. I trusted volvos reputation for safety and reliability, but now i am very disappointed. Dear sir/madam,when my wife drove the car on local road under 50 mph, one rear tire exploded suddenly. (the road was clean). The carwe have ishonda accord2003. The tire has 60% usage under warranty. We went to a local authorized michelin tire dealer to get it checked and replaced. The dealer checked the tired and found the side wall of the rear tire blew up. The dealer think it is a defective tire. We are scared of the michelin tire and got replaced with four new goodyear tires. We and the dealer called michelin later and they told us even though it was a defect tire, we could not get any credit/discount back on the replacement since it was another brand. But who would pick the same brand after it just blew up. We are very disappointed with the quality of the michelin tire as well as their response. Luckily the tire exploded on local road. If it were on freeway, it could be very dangerous. So we are writing to fail a complaint to you.

I happily bought a new sebring convertible in july 2002. I bought the "complete" 7/70 extended warranty because i am a single woman and do not want to worry about repairs.during 2003 and 2004, i experienced frequent "soft" tires.during a rain storm, i hydroplaned on highway 41 and lost control.luckily, there was no damage to anyone or the car.only my nerves. I would test and fill the tires frequently.i was frightened to drive during rain/snow because i did not feel control due to the tires not gripping the highway.i was told i needed new tires and that they were not covered under warranty.i bought new tires in dec. 2005 at sears, had the alignment performed.i continued to have soft tires. Sears replaced the tire valves, and had to smooth the rims twice. I now have to check and fill the tires with air 2 - 3 times a week.i spoke to the local dealer and was told "this is a frequent complaint of the sebring convertible rims)and was told to call chrysler. After being on hold 30 minutes, i got through to chrysler, and was told that although chrysler recognizes this deficiency in the rims, they will not cover this because i did not report the problem within the warranty period.how was i supposed to know that the problem was with the rims and not the tires?i was told it was the tires!!!please check the accident record of chrysler sebrings due to loss of control.

While driving a loud noise was heard coming from thefront. Consumer pulled over, and noticed thatdriver's side tire tread separated from the sidewall.consumer was able to change the tire, and drove it to the dealer for inspection.michelin, mxv4, 195/65r15.

Sidewall of tire showed a bubble after 24,000 miles on a 2013 toyota avalon discovered by dealer on routine maintenance. Contacted michelin and they sent me to a dealer that bumped up the price $25 over the price the dealer quoted and only offered 20% credit.i believe the sidewall is a manufacturing defect.i have photos that i can send.these tires are a danger to the reining public and need to be recalled before death or a serious injury results from the sidewall.

On two separate occasionswhile driving 30 mph the tire failed. Driver was able to pull over andinspected the vehicle. Noticed that the tread separated from the sidewall.vehicle was taken to a tiredealer for inspection, andmechanic determined that the tires needed to be replaced, and replaced them. However, problem recurred. The consumer stated that he had two tire failures in less than 13000 miles.

No failure yet but the sidewalls of the tires are badly checked.the tires are only 5 years old and the car has been garaged or parked in the shade most of the time.there is still close to half the tread life left. I put in todays date for the "approximate incident date" just because a date is required, but there has not been an incident.

This tire's sidewall completely failed, the tread coming off the car intact. The dealer says it is normal due to tire pressure, although the tire pressure seemed fine. Tire was prorated at 50%.( dot number: tire size: 185/65r15 )

The right rear tire of my mercedes benz 300 sdl (year 1987) had a blow out at a speed of approx. 40 mph.the origin of the blow out is the inner side wall of the tire.the tire is a michelin mxv4.i was traveling on telephone road by houston's hobby airport when the incident occurred.the road was clear of potholes and debris.the blowout sounded like gunfire.i traveled another 50 yards to get to a safe area to change the tires.i am fortunate that this did not happen the day before when i was going 75mph on i10.took the tire back to tiremax where it was purchased and they said that it is due to a road hazard.i disagree because i did not encounter a road hazard nor have i gone over potholes that may have weakened the tires.let this be a record that i have registered a complaint with michelin and have brought the tire back to tiremax for inspection.

I had a blowout on the interstate at 55mph. No notice just blew out, did not hit anything. Tire replaced at my expense.

Failure of tire sidewall - blowout at 50 mph - loss of vehicle control! (tiresize: 195/60/r15)

Michelin tire mxv4 developed bulge in side wall. (205-60-r15)

Michelin, mxv4 energy saver,p205/60r16, dot#b97rftwx3804. While driving 70 mph both sides of the tire blew out. The tread wear on the tire was approximately 1485 miles. Consumer had the tire evaluated by honda, sears, and tire kingdom. There were no punctures, nails, or anything to indicate that there was a puncture. When the tire was evaluated from the inside onecould see the rubber peeling away from the tire. The whole layer of inside rubber was moving away from the tire.

While driving on highway, rear tire failed (blewup). Tire was in good condition with good amounts of tread. Car, road, temperature, speed all were in normal conditions.

The contact owns a 2010 mazda 6. The contact stated while traveling at 20 mph, the rear passenger tire split. The tires were examined 3,000 miles ago and the contact was told that the vehicle was safe. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnosis.the dot number was not available. The failure and current mileage was 8,000.

Thank you.

On two separate occasions, i had a blow-out while driving my 2006 honda accord se.the first incident was roughly in march of 2006, and the second one november 16, 2006.in both instances, the car was traveling on a straight road at about 65 mph both blow-outs occurred on the passenger side, the first one front and the second rear.the first blow-out nearly put me into the guard rail and caused damage to the alloy rim.the other blow-out did not cause any loss of control.both blow-outs occurred accompanied by a loud sound, not sure if it was from the release of air or the rim slamming to the highway at 65 mph.both blow-outs resulted in a gaping hole in the sidewalls of the tires. The initial failure happened with 3000 miles on the car and the second with 9000 miles.all 4 tires constantly appear to be low on air although within the recommended psi range.neither tire could be repaired and both tires needed to be replaced.i have spent $400 replacing these damaged tires on a car that is less than a year old.

While going around a corner off a highway my rear driverside tire blew out causing my car to go off the side of the road hitting a sign and causing damage to the entire driver side of my vehicle.

Driving our 2 month old 2006 honda accord sedan ex special edition on a stretch of smooth road the right front tire suddenly and without warning lost air.we had not seen anything in road, hit a pothole or curb or anything else.there was no indication that anything influenced the tire to blow.upon inspection of the tire a 1.5 inch hole was in the sidewall.there was nothing in the road that could have caused this event.fortunately, we were able to pull off the road out of traffic and change the tire without further complications.two michelin authorized tire companies told me that we must have hit something that caused the puncture and that michelin would not offer any warranty on the tire.i was stunned that this could be possible on a 2 month old tire with less than two thousand miles on it and without any identifiable event that might have caused the tire to fail.i am very pleased that there was no resulting crash but i am not happy that i had to spend almost $200.00 to replace a tire on my new car when i believe there was not any way i could have avoided it.if i had hit a pothole, curb or anything, if there was evidence of something in the road or even if i had been driving aggressively i could understand it, but there is no reason in my mind that this tire should have failed nor should i have had to purchase a replacement.i am now concerned about the other 9 michelin tires on our hondas ( we purchased two accords in july) and our safety while driving the cars.

During exit of highway left front tire sidewall blew out resulting in hiting rope guardrail causing$5800 damage to car. Only 30k miles on tires.( dot number: tire size: 195/60rl4 )

I bought a new 2004 honda accord. I was driving it today when a softball size bubble appeared on the sidewall. A major honda dealer said they had never seen anything like that. The local michelin dealer said it was not a defective tire. How can a softball size balloon just appear all of the sudden on the sidewall. If i had been traveling at 70 mph it might have killed me and my daughter. I want michelin to replace this tire and the other three free of charge and also inspect the thickness of sidewalls used on 2004 honda accord ex models. The tire had 20,000 miles on it.speed rating on the tire is 91v size 260/16. I have digital pictures taken by the honda dealer (hugh white honda, columbus, oh.

I purchased a new 2006 hyundai sonata gls with michelin tires. The tires are weather cracking already after only half a year and with 4350 miles.

Michelin energy mxv4 problems. We were driving on a highway as the one of the rear tire blew out. We pulled over and changed the tires. As i checked the damaged, i noticed a huge crack on the inside part of the tire (no curb damage possible). So we went to a michelin store to request a warranty exchange (tire had less den 10k miles). The rep said it seemed to be a common problem with this kind of tire and he will try to get us a warranty exchange. But because of michelin denying the problem, we prob. Wont get the tire exchanged. So we bought a new single tire for $200.16. We are very upset...

The tire pressure light still illumination even bring the vehicle to dealer to check 3 time on the 2006toyota 4runner.

When the brakes were applied the vehicle accelerated without warning. The vehicle suddenly accelerated from 0 k.m. To 80 k.m. Within 15 feet and became stuck between two houses.the left tire blewout and the air bags deployed and cracked the windshield.the vehicle sustained damage..engine reved high when taking foot off gas pedal.the dealer adjusted the base idle because it was too high. *nlm

The clips on the interior part of the sun shade that prevents blinding sun from coming tough the sunroof bent.it makes it hard to open or close the shade when driving without great force something that is not very safe to be doing when driving.the person that fixed the sunroof also sayed he wish's they would recall the clip because he has fixed many with the same problem. The clips just bend and jump of the track they need to slide in.we think the metal used for the clips need to bestronger or revised.( dot number: m3wc tire size: 205/55r16 )

I was driving on the leroy selman expressway through the sunpass lane at about 25-30 miles per hour when i heard a bang and my tire went flat.something caused a slash in the tire and put a softball size hole in my metal rim.i don't know what happened but it ruined both the tire and rim.
