I was driving down a road at 30-35 mph when i had a sidewall blow out in my right front tire, the blow out caused my airbags to deploy which had knocked me unconscious for a few moments. After contacting hyundai, they admitted they have heard of this happening before on their 2005 sonatas, they have not however issued a recall or a notice to consumers warning them of the possible airbag deployment. After being unconscious, i hit 3 parked cars and proceeded to roll my car upside down.

I purchashed my 2004 ford explorer on january 11, 2005. After the first week i had to take it back to the service department of the dealership, on saturday, january 22, 2005.i informed them that the transmission is lagging when automatically shifting and that sometimes there is a loud clunk during the automatic shifting and especially when putting the car in reverse.also the tire pressure warning light has been coming on; so they checked that and said that they replaced the sensors. That light is still staying on.as for the transmission, i was informed that there is a manufacturer defect and that they were going to order the parts to fix it.as of january 31, 2005, the parts still have not come in.in the meantime i am having to continue to drive this vehicle and the problem seems to be getting worse.i do quite a bit of driving on the highway to get back and forth to work and i am very concerned about the transmission as well as the tire pressure.

I have a 2003 acura cl s type at 400 miles a tire was michelin tire was replaced for a bubble in the tire wall, the car is less than a year old and with 11,000 miles. I have replace two more tiresfor bubbles. Now a fourthtire has a bubble. I am told by acura and michelin that these are caused by pot holes. There is no rim damage and i was told by costco that this is a big problem with this type acura because of suspension. This is not safe, some bubbles are on inside walls and can not be seen. I don't believe any testing was done. This tire should be outlawed. No one wants to take responsibility and i can not afford to replace tires every month these tire are brand new and michelin is making a ton of money. I have read many complaints where people have crashed. I would like to avoid this....i would like either michelin or acura to address this problem or i would like to get out of my lease since i was not aware of the unsafe condition of my vehicle.

I have had front end alignment and tire wear problems on my infiniti from day one of buying the car.

Multiple issues and incidents.overall significant cooling system design flaws combinedwith tow package install mistakes leave the cooling lines un-secure and unprotected.2 ac line punctures, 5 power steering grinding repair attempts to no avail.

I bought a new 2006 c230 on 2/27/2006 .i was driving this car on the freeway at night and after 10-15 minutes of driving the tire on driver rear side was shredded. I replaced this tire with the spare tire.after all remaining tires were checked that were good to drive...i drove another 15-20 mins and driver side front tire shredded. At this time i had to call aaa and had the car towed to mercedes dealership in beverly hills. This dealership diagnosed the problem as something had impacted the wheels of the car and that shredded the tires. I also looked at the wheels myself and i did not see any damage to the wheels where they were pointing to saying there is slight raised or indentation .they told me mercedeswill not cover for the warranty of the tires and wheels.i feel that i did not do anything out of the ordinary while driving this car to cause this damage and i should not be at fault for this and that the mercedes company should cover this cost and reimburse the cost of wheels and tires. The cost of the parts was $1050 and i paid $1431 in total to the dealership at beverly hills.also the mercedes logo on my new wheels that was put on is rusted and does not new while the old wheels that were not replaced have the mercedes logo that looks new.also, if there is any extra or special warranty for tires and wheels ...i was not made aware of this warranty while purchasing the car.

Dt:consumerreceived a recall for the front tires. Before receivingthe recall consumer rotated the tires ,takingthe two front tires offand putting them on the back inner rear of the vehicle. The recall letter statedthat dealer would only replace the two front tires and they did. But those were not the original front tires, and because they hadbeen rotated and put t on the back, dealerwouldn't replace them in the recall. There were three differenttire blow outs. The first one occurred before the recall.consumerhad to find that size tire so he called the manufacturer, and they said to put the recall size on the tires. Manufacturer reimburseconsumerfor that tire. The tire was located originally on the front, but it was rotated to inner rear at the time of the blow out. The second time the tire was located on the inner rearand it was rotated from the front, but it was not an original tire.it had been on the front about 1500 miles after it got rotated. The third time the tire had been on the front at some point. All together 3 of the 4 tires blew out. One of the original front tires got moved to the inner rear, and it was the first of the three blow outs. The other original front tire was used as a spare tire and is currently located on the inner rear.

Incident: car tire blew up, leading the car to swerve off the median and shifting to the emergency line. Wheel damaged rubbing against the barrier separating the north and south bound of the highway.

1)7/29/03a.purchase of carb.salesman told me that am the only car he has for the c2 convenience package. He also went on to say that this particular car is equipped with a wheels package. When i enquired what it was, he said it is a premium design, which enables me to handle turns better. I was not entirely excited at the offer, but since the dealership said cars come with pre-designed packages, i have to take the car with the wheels package, if i wanted the other extras i was looking for.2)01/15/04a.first occurrence of car tire going flat.b.there were no holes on the tire; it was confirmed that the tire went flat as a result of a dent on the rims of the car.c.i argued my case in vain, saying that it was a manufacturers default; but service centre(including supervisors) coldly said that it was due to external influences and thus it was not even covered in the warranty. They made me pay for a new tire and a rim (invoice attached).3)03/17/04a.i dropped the car off at the service centre, as i felt the car was wobbling. B.the service guy called me back and said that it was due to another dent on another tire. I took the case all the way to hq (montvale), but to no effect.c.worse still, the service centre made me pay for the tire, rim and the alignment of the wheels. They claimed the realignment was necessary, as it was the impact from the dent that caused the misalignment, and thus it is not covered under warranty.d.i was pissed, as i failed to understand what the warranty was for, if i had to pay for everything. If everything that went wrong on the car was as a result of unevenness of the surface (which again i cannot control), then its as good as having no warranty. 4)05/06/04a.most recent case of a flat tireb.clearly, again, there was no evidence of any holes on the tire. However, i am pretty sure; it was caused by a dent on the rim.

I am writing to express my concern over the safety and potential defects associated with 2001 model volkswagen beetle turbo, along with its michelin tires. Last week, my own life was seriously endangered while driving on the massachusetts turnpike. Traveling in the left lane at normal highway speeds, my car instantly lost control and began skidding viciously. Unable to slow the car in time, i hit the median, causing irreparable damage to the car. Upon exiting the vehicle, i noticed a large, gaping hole cut through my right rear tire. This hole, couple with the extensive charring and grating to the metal wheel, was corroborated by mechanics and vw dealers as the cause of the accident.i am greatly concerned that the vehicle, and or tires, may contain a defect that heightened the chances of an accident such as mine. The car was in excellent condition, and had been driven for only 27,000 miles. As such, it seems highly unlikely that a tire rupture would be a normal wear and tear occurrence. I do not wish for such an accident to reoccur in the future (either to myself, or other consumers), and thus would urge the auto and tire manufacturers, along with the nhtsa to study the matter in expeditious fashion.thank you for your assistance. The contact owns a 2005 honda odyssey.the vehicle has michelin pax tires.the contact stated that the tires have excessive outer wear.pieces of the outer wall began separating from the tires at 15,000 miles.the dealer only changed one of the tires, but all four were experiencing the failure.honda advised him to speak with michelin, but michelin advised him to speak with honda.meanwhile, the warranty expired.the contact wanted to change the rims and place regular tires on the vehicle, but honda advised him that doing so would void the vehicle's warranty.the dealer also advised him to bring his vehicle in every 7,500 miles to have the tires rotated at his expense.the current mileage was 23,000 and failure mileage was 15,000.updated 02/01/08.*lj

The contact owns a gmc 2008 sierra 1500. The vehicle had michelin ameritrac tires, tire size p245-70-r17. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph and the road performance was rough with a noise coming from the tires. The snow and mud tires were previously purchased at the dealer. The failure mileage was 8,900. The current mileage was 12,000.

We have a 2005 honda odessy, with pax tire system.tires failed at approximately 25000 miles.neither michelin nor honda have done anything.i was asked did i drive the car up and down hills?at the time the car was hydro planing so badly we felt unsafe.we have had to buy new wheels ,and tirese and sensors or get out of this worthless set of tires.i would never buy a vehicle with this on. All we got are bills and lies.

In october 1999, we purchased four of your michelinradial x-one bw tires from tires plus on prairee view road, kansas city mo. At approximately miles on the tire, the right rear tire went completely flat on a local lake road, 25mph.since she had to drive some distance before she could pull over, the tire endured additional damage.it was evident the tire had ruptured on the side-wall(not facing the outside of the tire).to me, it appeared to have a thinning, or defect in the side-wall, but your dealer disagreed.when we took it to the dealer, they told us the tire was not covered, since we had not purchased road hazard insurance.that it had probably been punctured by glass, (even thought there was no glass, &to me, an obvious weakness in the side-wall).we purchased and replaced the tire to match the remaining three on april 22last june, a second tire from the original four suffered a blow out while exiting the intersate at 50 mph.after changing the tire on the shoulder, we took a look at the second tire as well.it suffered a rupture in the side-wall(not facing the outside of tire).this time, there was no additional driving on the tire, and it was apparent there the blowout occurred at a defect in the side-wall.again, we took it to your dealer, where the mechanic there agreed that it was an obvious weakness in the side-wall.the manager told us that the tire was not covered for warranty, since we had not purchased road hazard insurancewe complained about the tire, and our previous, nearly identical situation, and purchased a sixth tire to match the remaining sets on june 14.in may of 2001 the right rear tire had developed a weakness in the sidwall, has expanded and will blow.50% of my tire purchases have now failed, all developed a weakness in the sidewall.i understand road hazard, but these tires are driven in normal to excellent driving conditions.(tiresize: 195/60tr15)

The contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey.the vehicle has michelin pax system run flat technology, size 235/710r460a tires (na).while driving 5 mph, the vehicle slid.the contact could not pull into his driveway due to an inch of snow.he feels that the tires were not made for the snow because there was no traction.the dot number was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 5,000.

I had lost 3 center pieces that covers the lude bolts. I spoke the company about the above and they stated they hadn't had any one to complain. But after great effort it was resolved with me being reimbursed with the 1 i had purchased and they replaced the other 2. I had spoken with 2 of my co-workers and they had a similar complaint, but did not pursue it. Now my cruise control has gone out and may vechile only have 16,000 miles on it and i haven't use d it. The way i found out it was not working was we weretaking a trip and the cruise would not work. I now have to take it in for repair and i am dreading it will be a ordeal. Since i have to take it in to the chevrolet place instead of the dealership i purchased it from because of the poor service.

Michelin energy mxv4 plus tires with radial xse size p205/65r15 oem tires on honda accord ex v6. Vehicle is kept to date on maintenance, regularly rotated, balanced, air checked. Car is handled conservatively and tire has low miles. Driver has clean driving record.1) these tires have been the cause of a constant, harrowing hydroplaning on any wet or iced surfaces over the last 4 years.2) two tires had side walls blown onnegligible shallow pot-holes on different occasions, in 2005, and in aug.2006.3) latest surprise: now at 23,000 miles, 2 front tires threads are completely worn, and back tires also worn enough to warrant replacement. At 23,000 miles!these tires are defective safety hazards and should be recalled.

Maximum tire pressure discrepancy between tire manufacturer and the tire pressure used by the vehicle manufacturer.the michelin pilot hxmxm4 (235/60-18) which are the default 18" tires on the volvo xc90 from the factory has a max 35psi while other tires of the same size has upto 51psi max.the vehicle manufacturer recommends 39psi for full loads which is above the max psi.contacted michelin customer service 1-800-847-3435 directly to inquire. Their response was "the wrong tire was installed."still waiting for a response from volvo.so far no official word from either.no one seems to be aware of this discrepancy but we run the risk of over-inflating or under-inflating which is huge safety hazard.

Driving down interstate 70 at 75 mph. Sudden blow-out of the sidewall of a michelin tire with 1825 miles on it. The dealer said they had never seen anything like it on a michelin before. I have since heard otherwise. They could not get a replacement for six days and had to rent me a car to use. There were no other michelin tires of that size anywhere in the state. This is a new ford crown victoria less than 60 days old. Right front tire. Very exciting ride for a few moments! lots of smoke.

Dt: contactowns a 2001 fleetwood discovery motor home that has michelin 255/80r22-5xrv tires.while driving the front driver's side tire blew out.approximately a month later two more tires blew out.the contact she did not notice any vibration while driving. On january 17, 2004, i had costco install 4 new michelin x-radialdt tires on my chrysler minivan. On december 29, 2004, i noticed a bulge the size of 1/2 tennis ball in the sidewall of the left rear tire. I immediately had it replaced by costco. On january 28, 2005, i had my chrysler dealer replace all four tire pressure sensors, replaced at costcos expense, because of damage done to them during the initial tire installation. On february 15, 2005, without a "low pressure" warning, and without striking any road hazard, the left front tire exploded. In the almost 2 miles it took to cross 5 lanes of fast moving traffic, the tire disintegrated into what michelin calls a "run flat" condition, damaging the wheel valued at just over $600. Of course what was left of the tire exhibited "run flat" conditions but that was only after what possibly was a blow out due to another defect in the sidewall. Michelins response was that there wasn't enough tire left for them to determine the real cause of the failure. Mr. Terry vanchoff, one of michelin's customer claims managers also said, "with the new government rulings after the firestone debacle, even though they may have paid my claim in the past due to good customer relations, now, the government treats every paid claim as admitting that there was a defect and counts against them. If this is true, i think it does a disservice to the consumer as well as the company. I for one, a lifelong michelin tire purchaser, will actively look to other tire manufacturers for my future needs because of poor customer relations regarding my claim. After extensive review of the nhtsa complaint files, i can't believe that so many "coincidences" occurred with michelin sidewall failures to so many "uninformed" consumers that they were all caused by underinflated tires or damage due to striking a road hazard. In conclusion, please check the following dot #'s for sidewall issues before someone gets hurt: m30dhu8x4303; 3103; 4503 & 3403.

I bought a used 2002 ford explorer from evergreen ford in issaquah washington. The salesmen told me the car had great tires and they would not need to be replaced for a while. When i took the car to get serviced for the first time (about a month after i bought it) i was told the tires were bald and the car was deemed unsafe to drive - they could not believe i was driving around with such bad tires. When i called the dealership they were abusive and extreamly rude over the phone, they would take no responsibility.

I have had front end alignment and tire wear problems on my infiniti from day one of buying the car.

In november 2005, we purchased the 2006 honda odyssey touring mini-van.upon questioning the pax tire system (a selling point for the touring edition), we were told by the dealership that replacement would cost approximately 10-15% above similar tires.at approximately 27,500 miles (just 16 months after our purchase and regular routine maintenance), we were told by the honda service technicians that we needed to have all 4 of our tires replaced due to excessive wear (3/32 tread).upon calling around to several dealerships in our area we discovered the cost to replace all 4 of the tires was $1200.much, much more than 10-15% above a regular set of similar tires.while we were made aware the additional cost in tire replacement, we were not made aware of the higher frequency this would occur.in fact we were assured by a certified honda technician that the tread wear of the michelin pax tires was superior to that of similar mini-van tires.if we had known that there would be a $1200 maintenance cost in the tires alone every 1-1.5 years, we would never have purchased the touring edition of this vehicle. We contacted michelin who told us to have the tread checked/verified by a certified pax dealer, and they would have a case open.upon verification of excessive wear by discount tire, michelin offered a 35% discount on the replacement of the pax tires.unsatisfied, we proceeded to contact honda's corporate office in an effort to have the ex model wheels put on the vehicle (at honda's expense). The corporate office referred us back to our local dealership, who claims the lighter ex model wheels cannot be put on the heavier suspension system of the touring edition.our current options are to replace with another set of pax tires and hope we don''t face this excessive expense again in another 12-15 months or replace with after market wheels and tires.
