The contact owns a 2001 toyota camry equipped with michelin harmony 205/65/r15 tires. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the rear driver's side tire blew out. A spare tire was installed as a replacement. Approximately one month later, the same failure occurred on the rear passenger side tire. The vehicle was not taken to have the failures diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage on the tires was approximately 10,000. The vehicle failure mileage was 115,000.
Bought a michelin harmony tire for our honda odyssey in march of 2008. We had about 20,000 miles on the tire. The tire blew out a 3 in square part of sidewall in front passenger side. I was able to control the car and stop safely.
My left front tire exploded without warning at approx 69 mph on i-85.the tire had proper air pressure and nothing was run over to make a puncture.i think the tread separated from the body due to poor adhesion to the steel cord and then the body exploded within a revolution or 2.i base this on the sound and the fact that bare tire cord is showing on the carcass.michelin refused to offer anything more than credit for treadwear, which was about 40% (60% left).i estimate the tire age at 2 to 3 years, but cannot find a receipt.the tire was too damaged to find a serial number.some damage occurred during approx 0.2 mile required for changing lanes and moving off the expressway (rush hour).the left front fender, wheel well (plastic), and wheel were replaced in addition to the tire and an alignment.total cost about $1550.the tire was a michelin harmony 225r60x16.the car also had to be towed, due to a missing key to a lugnut on each wheel.
Multiple cracking on sidewalls of 4 michelin harmony tires being used 3000 miles a year. Tires bought in 2007 and have 99% of tread still present on tire.feel michelin used insufficient uv/ozone inhibitor chemicals in rubber compound manufacturing these tires. Tires may be unsafe and not due to car owner's fault. Feel michelin should replace these at their expense, not my mother's expense. Tires should last much longer than 7-8 years at 3000 miles a year when 80,000 is advertised for these tires.
I was getting an oil change and the attendant doing the change pointed out a problem with all four of my tires. The sidewalls had multiple cracks in them. Some are an inch long and look deep. The manager of the facility said they were caused by the sun. I contacted michelin and they seemed to agree. I don't believe it. All four tires had the same problem. I don't have my receipt any longer. The tires were purchased in fall of 2008. I think the cracks are dangerous and could result in a blowout. I read about 5 blowouts that occurred with these same style tires where the driver did not know what caused the blowout. Maybe the tires had cracks. Michelin does not make harmony tires anymore. At least, i couldn't find any for sale. Tread depth is about 7/32". I have photos that show the cracks well. I you want to see them, let me know.
On the 28th of may i was traveling 60 mph (the speed limit) and my back passenger tire blew out and i lost control of my car. I stopped when the back passenger corner rammed into a cement railing. The back bumper, side paneling, wheel tire and trunk hood were all damaged and needed to be replaced.i do not know what caused the tire to blowout.
While checking the air pressure in a customer's car the valve stem broke causing all air to escape from the tire and necessitating the purchase of a new tpms sensor.
The contact owns a 2002 buick lesabre equipped with michelin harmony tires, tire size p225/60r/16.the contact stated the sidewalls on the drivers rear and front passenger side were breaking away from the tire.during a state inspection, the inspector confirmed that the tires were separating. The dealer and manufacturer denied any assistance with repairs to the failure.the vehicle was repaired.
