This is a very dangerous problem.called honda and the local honda dealership several times and received no help at all.they would not cover this part or the workmanship to replace it.now at 65,000 miles the van is making the same noise so i am assuming another hub bearing is going bad.i have never purchase a honda before this one, i will never buy another.

Complaint with michelin pax system run-flat technology: 235-710r 460a 104t. I have to replace the tires a 2nd time in only 45k miles. They wear too fast. Extremely expensive. I was never told by honda i would have these issues. I have no other options but to purchase the same tires again. Something needs to be done by either honda or michelin. I know i am not alone with this issue.

I own a honda odyssey 2009 minivan with 13k miles. My passenger rear tire burst - with many holes around both sides. I want a replacement as there is no evidence of any nails and the holes are a proof in itself about the issue with the tire. What are my options. How can this site help me?

I own toyota sienna 2004. I was driving from connecticut to washington dc. The front left tyre of the car bursted in maryland & it hit the left divider on i-95 . The mileage of the car at the time of accident was 2963. I called up dealer saying how can a tyre burst when it is a new car ? he said we cannot say anything until we see the damaged tyre. Tires are defective *all 4 experience same type of cracks all the way around the tires, michelin will not warranty cracks, however will cover cost of replacement minus $ 219.00 was not informed of this when purchasing vehicle new....they say we are sorry, but our liability is only 7/10 of what it was...they are defective....

I was driving my 1999 honda odyssey van around ~10:00 pm on i-5 about 55 miles per house.all of a sudden rear driver side tire blew up.it is a michelin tire with 9,600 miles on it.the tire came brand new with the van which had ~9,600 miles. Discount tire professional examined the tire and did not find any damage to tire such as a nail or cut that would have resulted in blow up.

After 23k miles of use, these tires have virtually no tread left.this was a brand new vehicle purchase and the tires came stock as part of the vehicle.we have been conscientious in rotating the tires and ensuring that the tires have proper inflation.

My wife was making a low speed right turn from leeland road (rt lane) onto deacon rd (left lane) in stafford county virginia when she simultaneously heard an "explosion" and felt a jolt coming from the driver's side front wheel. There is no curb or other obstructions in the intersection but after the "explosion" she was startled and lost control slightly grazing the curb on deacon road before regaining control. She managed to pull off into a safe area; my two children (ages 9 & 7) were also in the vehicle.upon visual inspection of the tire, it appears that a side wall failure occurred. The vehicle my wife was driving is a new 2008 toyota sienna that has michelin energy lx4 tires on it, approximate miles on the vehicle/tires was approximately 10,200. My wife contacted michelin that evening and reported the incident; she was instructed to take the tire to ntb who is an authorized dealer. Ntb refused to honor the warranty citing the tire was "road damage" after a naked eye visual inspection. The ntb store we went to did not have the tire in stock and referred us to their other store.upon arrival, it was obvious the "road damage" assessment was phoned ahead and the "mechanic" also would not honor the michelin warranty and accused my wife of lying and hitting a curb. I ended up having to pay $198.73 out of my own pocket just to get a new tire put on for my wife. I have the tire in question in my custody, i would not let the tire store keep it; i also have photos.

I purchased a honda odyssey touring model with pax tires.i inquired about the tires at the time of purchase and did not want them.at the time i was not educated on the expenses the lack of facilities that care work with the tire and issues related to warranty with this car.it has been a nightmare having pax tires and has created a huge recurring expense for me.

Bought a 2006 honda odyssey touring with dvd/nav in march of 2006. In october '06, had alignment repaired due to van pulling to right. In may '07, requested alignment be checked again for pulling to the right, they were going to charge $85 because warranty expired. Was informed by honda service tech in march 2008, we needed 4 brand new tires, not alignment problem. Van had 30, 413 miles and almost didn't pass inspection. Tires are 235-710r460a and were worn to 3/32 with regular maintenance and rotation. Was told by service tech that you had to replace all 4 at a time and cost would be $1211.73. Was told you cannot replace pax tire system with regular tires. Did my own research and found out you can, but up-front cost including wheels, tires, and labor would be about $2000. Was not told upon purchasing the van that the tires would need complete replacement between 25k-30k miles! we were told pax system tires had excellent wear rating and would last longer than regular tires! had all tires replaced and van still pulls to right. Now we're being told our brakes need to be replaced. We're stuck with this vehicle because value of van had decreased with pax tire system complaints.

The contact owns a 2009 hyundai sonata equipped with michelin energy micro tires, sizes p215-60r16-94. The contact owns a 2003 lincoln town car equipped with michelin energy lx4 tires, size p225/60/r17. The contact stated that the front driver's tire and both rear tires had dry rotted. The contact stated that the tires had been installed on the vehicle for two years. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was informed that the tires were not covered by warranty or recall for dry rotting. The failure mileage was unknown.

The tires on my2009, mercury marquis, are dry rotted. I have also noted that there are holes in the sidewalls on all of them along with a large bulge in the right passenger, side tire wall with a tear and large hole where the bulge is. I have been trying to look up on the web site to see if my tires are in the recall lists with some difficulty. I sincerly hope you can help me with this problem as i am afraid to drive now and my husband has severe parkinsons desease and i am afraid something is going to happen to him. Thank you! i will be looking forward to your response.

Found tire flat on jan 5, 2009.called aaa who put on spare.then drove to dealer.dealer found tire valve cracked.we purchased new tire.another valve was cracked in july of 2008.called aaa and driver put duct tape on tire valve, pumped up our tire and we went to a tire place that replaced our cracked valve stem. Old parts were disposed of by dealer and other tire store.we find this to be a serious safety issue/pattern now and looked at our valve stems that have been recalled by dill.we feel there should be a recall by ford motor company.

Michelin tires energy lx4 235/65/r16-103t-went in to dealer today for alignment. Said they could not do it as all 4 tires are separating on the insides. All 4 at once? this is on a 2005 honda odyssey van- this van has been maintained to the utmost. As a saleperson-i live in it. Also in the weekends i put some of my 10 grandchildren in it. The most valuable cargo anyone can have. Reason for the honda brand. Safety etc. I was in shock when told this took it to a local tire place got second opinion. I rotate tires every 2000 miles as i change oil every 1000 miles. This is very very upsetting as dangerous. As if i drive it they will blow. The steel belts are going to come through the inside sidewalls. What on earth!!! i would expect this from a fly by night company. But someone needs to do something before someone is killed with a blow out. I have been told michelin will do nothing as they have had other complaints and tires with the same problem. Not to waste my time even contacting them. Go right to this web site and let all know about then problem. Not just one size many many sizes of michelins with the same problems. God bless i found out without damage to my family or someone else's on the highway with me.

The contact owns a 2009 mercury grand marquis equipped with michelin energy lx4 tires. The vehicle was taken to an authorizeddealer because the contact noticed the tread was peeling from the sidewalls on all four tires. He was informed that they have never seen the failure before and was instructed to take the vehicle back to the authorized dealer where the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was not taken to the original authorized dealer. The tires were not replaced. The failure and current mileages were 19,500.

In 2008, i purchased a new lincoln town car. The tires on the car are michelin energy lx4xse radials. The dot number is m3xhdeh3x0208.tread wear is shown as 500. Tire size is p225/60r17.my complaint is that all 4 tires show sidewall cracking. The car has 23,000 miles on it. Tread wear looks to be about half of new. The sidewall cracking is extensive, and i believe extremely dangerous, especially in west central florida, where i live, because of the high ambient daytime temperatures.i have googled the tire 'michelin energy lx4' and have found that there are many consumer same model michelin tire complaints for side wall cracking.dealers representing the michelin brand, upon inspecting the problematic tires have determined the problem due to 'tire rot.'i believe wholeheartedly that this issue demands immediate investigation, before someone gets killed, due to a sidewall blowout.

Our 2006 honda odyssey touring edition minivan came standard-equipped with michelin pax "run-flat" tires (energy lx4, 235/710r460a 104t). These tires pose a serious safety threat because of ultra-premature tread wear, and the fact that a different type of tire cannot be used on the vehicle. It wasn't until we nearly slid our vehicle off the road that we realized our tires were nearly bald after only 17 thousand miles. Honda and michelin claim that "pax system tires should provide treadlife comparable to a corresponding traditional michelin tire," but this is clearly a misrepresentation as thousands of complaints about the premature tread life of these tires can be found on the internet.the problem cannot be solved by simply installing different tires because the pax tire is required equipment on the 2006 honda odyssey touring edition minivan! honda itself states that using a different tire will likely void the vehicle warranty.the problem is compounded by the fact that replacing these tires is unusually expensive (about $1,300.00 usd to replace all four) so people postpone replacing their pax tires to avoid paying the excessive cost, exposing themselves and others to a serious road hazard. I implore you to take action to resolve this dangerous problem.important: it is not possible to properly enter the tire specifications for this tire on your web site due to its unusual specification format. The proper specification for the tire is 235/710r460a 104t. The "a" in 460a signifies that these tires feature "asymmetric" beads in which the outside bead (450 mm) and inside bead (470 mm) are actually different diameters.

2 complaints, first one is the power steering pump went at 35000 miles.honda did replace it under warranty. But the pump in now at 60,000 miles is going bad. Second complaint, the front left hub bearing went bad way too early, 50,000 miles.

2007 mercury marquis with michelin energy lx4 p225-60 r16 tires with 15,000 miles. At 65 mph felt vibration in front end, i started braking and pulling to shoulder when left front tire exploded. Inspection of tire showed the outside sidewall blewout. I searched the internet and found several other incidentsof this reported. This tire is unsafe and should be immediately investigated. I will take pictures for future reference. The car is still under warranty and i will have the tire replaced. I hope people don't have to die before this gets fixed.

1. Driving 53 mph on 3 lane freeway, changed into right lane with light traffic.2. Tire blow out - heard load 'pop' from behind me, checked mirrors for object in lane - could not identify issue.moved to far left lane in anticipation of need for break-down lane.traveled approx 1/4 mile, could feel right real rub of tire. Pulled of road.3. Contacted aaa, van sent, tire changed to donut.no visible shredding. Aaa drivers stated it appeared to be side wall failure.we replaced both rear tires and are maintaining this 'blown out' tire.

The contact owns a 2006 honda odyssey with michelin energy lx4 size p235/65r16.he noticed that the left front tire was flat.the repair shop stated that all the tires were worn on the inside and outside.the current and failuremileages were 41,480.

My mother n law has had to replace (6) six michelin 225/60r/17 98t (lxr?)tires in the last eight months at great cost even though she has purchased a road hazard additional warranty. The original tires were not even out of warranty. 1 tire is understandable, 2 is questionable and 6 is a problem. She bought full set of michelin 225/60r/17 98t energy lx4 white walls on oct.06,2009. 1 had flat on jan 12,2010. Different tire from 10/06/2009 purchasehad "cotter key or pin" it was replaced at a cost of $69.84 on jan 30, 2009 she purchased 2 michelin 225/60r/17 98t lxr (lxr is what the receipt displays under "description") at a cost of $280.16. She didn't have further back receipts in hand but does have them> for why 2 tires should be replaced instead of needing full set.she has her tires rotated and balanced on schedule every 6 to 8 thousand miles like recommended. She also stated as an after thought that she has to put air in them every week to maintain her suggested psi for optimal performance as suggested by manufacturer.the "cotter key or pin' tire she has photos of this tire, documenting the tire failure. I started this with an email to michelin which they promptly responded too.i have since(am today) sent them another email, giving them more info on the dealers where she bought the tires etc... Thanks for your time and considerations and keeping us safe.

Pax tires on honda odyssey. They quickly wear out, and cost $1300 to replace. The only source for the tires is the honda dealer -- no other vendors available. If we replace the wheels with non-pax parts we will have constant computer warnings while driving because the tire pressure monitor will register "0 psi" tire pressure.tires specs provided by this website (width, rim, etc) are not compatible with numbers from tires. Tires say "energy lx4 radial xse 235-710 r460a 104tpax"none of these facts were disclosed by the dealership when we purchased the car.

I purchased a new mercury 2007 grand marquis ls.i have michelin lx4 energy tires.i had a blow out on front left tire at 4700 miles, the side wall came apart.i had a second blow out on front right tire at 5840 miles again side wall came apart.i had third blow out at 6000 miles on left rear same side wall damage, at this time i replaced right rear tire because i was traveling out of my area.i tried to get dealer to replace tires under warranty but they refused and said it was a michelin problem.i replaced tires with michelins which i am sorry i did this.

The contact owns a 2006 lexus rx330 equipped with michelin energy mxv4 (na) tires, size 235/55r18 (na). While the vehicle was at the dealer for service, it was determined that all four tires were dry rotted and unsafe. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

Poor manufactured michelin tires. Becoming unsafe to drive after 20,000milesmichelin energy lx4 pax235/710r-460 104t rb.

All four tires failed inspection due to dry rot cracks in the tread on may 15, 2017.tires were purchased on june 5, 2012. Tires were installed at 45707 miles, failure noted at 80010 miles.costo technician claimed failure was due to vehicle not being driven enough.this seems like a handy excuse and very subjective.when i asked the garage owner who did the inspection if this was a valid reason his response was it is not and said he has seen a lot of this type of failure in michelin tires in the past 6 to 8 years.please not all four (4) tires failed, not just one.details of this form required me to select which tire but again, all four failed. ..updated 06/06/17

Left front tire on my 2007 mercury grand marquis ls blew out while doing approximately 55 mph on highway 85. I slowed down until i could pull off the road onto the shoulder. At the same time i found that the right rear tire was very low.i installed the donut spare on the left front and pumped up the right rear tire and slowly drove to the nearest gas station to inflate both tires to proper pressure. I then went home. The next day i went to my mercury dealer, they inspected the blown out tire and told me that i was driving on an improperly inflated tire and ford motors would not do anything for me ,but they offered to sell me a new tire and mount it at no charge. I left the dealership and went to a tire dealer that i have used on other occasions for tires for other cars, when he went to remove the blown tire from the rim he found that the valve stem was cracked and could have been the cause of the tire failure,i told him about the low pressure in the right rear tire he pressed the valve stem slightly side ways and the air leaked out, he did the same to the other 2 tires and they seemed ok. He removed the right rear tire it shows several worn spots inside and he recommends changing it also. He told me their is a recall on some valve stems, and we checked out info on google and found that my car has the dill-acp tr-414 tire valves, he replaced both tire and all 4 valve stems. I went to my dealer the owner and tire expert said they knew nothing about any valve stem problems. I gave the owner the google print out he said he would check with ford and let me know. That was friday 27 feb09. Today is mondaymar 2 09.

I have the tire in question in my custody, i would not let the tire store keep it; i also have photos.

The contact owns a 2005 lincoln town car.the vehicle has michelin energy lx4 tires, size p225/60r17.the contact stated that the exterior sidewall of the tire began deteriorating.all four tires were replaced.several weeks later, she noticed that the exterior sidewall began deteriorating again on all four tires.the manufacturer would only assume partial financial responsibility for the first set of tires that were replaced.the contact still has possession of the tires.the failure mileage was 1,500.

Oem tires on 2009 honda odyssey, michelin 235/65r-16 energy lx4..13,500 miles on vehicle...severe sidewall cracking found 10-23-11. Taken to discount tire for warranty...7/32 tread vehicle 2 yrs old.

On saturday, oct. 21, 2006 at approximately 12:00pm i was driving on i-95 just south of port saint lucie florida, traveling at 70 mph, when i experienced a catastrophic blow out of the right rear tire on my 2005 mercury grand marquis, with 14,980 mile on the odometer.the tires were all original equipment tires. The vehicle sustained no damage but the sidewalls were completely shredded, after traveling about 500 to 600 feet to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. I had to purchase a new michelin tire at a cost of $144.96 -with a 65,000 mi. Warranty!the tire that blew with less than 14,980mi was not warranted or pro rated by the dealer or by michelin.i did not run over anything in the roadway, and brought the tire to two different tire shops and they could not figure out what happened.i called michelin and they told there was nothing they could do.this is ridiculous!michelin, advertises itself as one of the "safest" tires on the road, -well this particular one certainly was not.it is a p225-60r16 energy lx4.i am reporting this in hope you may be able to get michelin to help defray the cost of the new tire, and or see if there is a safety defect with this style of tire, which may warrant further action.i remain anxiously awaiting your reply.

Purchased a 2006 odyssey touring model and the dealer misrepresented the vehicle's "top of the line tires" by claiming superior wear of tires, their value, benefits, overall cost and environmental friendliness...was informed that this was a superior tire that would last just as long as standard tires if not longer and they were much safer - told 50,000 miles before having to consider replacing them; would provide superior road handling; quieter rides; better gas mileage; and because of the expected life of the tire and improved gas mileage, it would benefit the environment (less waste created).was also told that they are just a bit more to replace than conventional tires because of the gel inside but well worth the additional 10% it would cost over traditional tires because of their safety. Also informed that i should not worry that the vehicle did not come with a spare or jack because the tires can run flat for 150 miles and that the majority of michelin and honda dealers in the us are able to repair / replace the tire and they are everywhere.told that they came with a great warranty and that michelin would replace the tire if anything happened to them during their warranty period because the vehicle did not come with a spare.dealer misrepresented the actual replacement and maintenance cost of the tires that now appears to be on an 18 month 20-25,000 mile basis. Based on my past experience, a good set of tires average 5 years 45-50,000 miles and have a cost of 50% less to maintain / replace. Bases on their actual cost and the rate of ware, the tires will cost me 4 times as much as a comparable standard set of tire.there is only a handful of dealers in my local area that are equip to deal with this tire and i am concerned that because of the type of tire and special training needed to replace the tires, nationwide, there is limited availability of dealers that could handle a blowout promoting for potential price gouging.

The contact owns a 2006 honda odyssey equipped with michelin energy lx4 tires(na), size 235/70r17. The dot number was not available. While having routine maintenance performed at an authorized dealer, the contact was informed that he would need to have all four tires replaced due to excessive tread wear. The authorized dealer replaced the tires with the same type of tires that were originally on the vehicle. Approximately 25,000 miles later, the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for routine maintenance. He was informed again that all four tires were exhibiting tread wear and would need to be replaced. The dealer replaced the front tires, but not the rear. The failure mileage was 27,000 and the current mileage was 69,000.

- the contact stated that the hornwould not work.the battery also failed.the vehicle had tobe towed to the dealer andthey installed a used battery. She fused and then they replaced it with a cheap battery that didnot fit the vehicle. The tire on the passenger back side had no tread, and the vehicle would skid when going up hill. Updated 1/31/2007 -the rear defrost was inoperative.the dealer determined that the grid was bad and suspected a bad connection at the glass.the check engine light illuminated.the dealer determined that the vehicle had an leaking gas cap.

After 23k miles of use, these tires have virtually no tread left.this was a brand new vehicle purchase and the tires came stock as part of the vehicle.we have been conscientious in rotating the tires and ensuring that the tires have proper inflation.

I had a tire valve fail. The repair shop pulled the tire apart and the tire was perfect. They said that the valve probably was defective.2007 mercury grand marquis w michelin tires ( mileage about 14,000 miles).
