Have had ongoing issues with 2009 dodge journey.vehicle loses power while driving, this has happened approximately 10 times in the last year.the tires sold on the vehicle (225-55-r19) are not replaceable. I got a flat and was told to ride on the donut until they could locate a new tire, 12 days later still no tire, i demanded the dealer sell me a tire off of a car in the lot, they finally agreed. However, i was called after i left the car and told that because it is awd all 4 tires must be replaced or it will damage my transmission and that possibly, i already have damaged due to driving on donut. Had no choice but to buy 4 new tires, while at dealer having 4 new , larger tires (235 55 r19) put on the dealer broke valve sensor on 2nd tire, 1st time they broke one was in march 2011. Vehicle has 31,000 miles on it and the sensors should last a minimum of 5 years. Dealer will not cover under warranty. After paying $827 to replace 4tires, when i only needed 1 new tire and 2 missing valve sensors, i drove off the lot and the vehicle again lost power, dealer has had vehicle in at least 4 times to fix problem in the past, they still have not resolved or located the problem.i restarted vehicle and it died again, restarted a 3rd time and i lost all dash lighting.this was within an 8th of mile of the dealer location.i turned the car around and returned it to the dealer, which is where it remains until they can fix it!! nys attorney general states this does not qualify as a "lemon" because the dealer attempted to repair, i disagree! i am filing a 2nd lemon law case with them at this time. Buyer beware!!

I have kumho tires on a 2011 hyundai sonata. I currently have 25000 miles on it. I have complied with tire and balancing maintenance. The tire noise is so loud it is very distracting. I cannot concentrate on anything but the noise. The noise is so loud it is impossible to fully focus on the road because all i do is fidget because of the annoyance and listen to this noise. The noise is absolutely drives me nuts! it is hard to concentrate on driving with the insane tire noise all around me. After reading several similar complaints, i havedecided to submit my own.

I was driving on the freeway approximately 70 mph when i heard a noise that sounded like a golf ball hitting the rear passenger side of the car, it was actually my tire popping.it went flat almost immediately.i took the flat in to be repaired and they couldn't repair it, i had to buy new one for $235, kia wouldn't warranty it.my car only has 5000 miles on it.i didn't run over anything or hit a pot hole or curb, it just popped.

The contact owns a 2011 hyundai tucson equipped with kumho solus kl21 tires, size: 225/60r17. The contact was driving 55 mph when the front driver side tire failed and blew from the sidewall. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.the contact was not injured.the vehicle was towed to a local mechanic for body repair.the contact called the tire manufacturer and the manufacturer agreed to replace both the front and rear driver side tires. The failure mileage was 585.

Premature tire wear. Car has 11,500 miles. Tire wear as measured by the dealer is 5/32 rear and 4 /32 front. Neither dealer or tire manufacturer kumho thinks this is an issue or is willing to take any action. Both claim tire wear is not warrantied. Tires should not wear out this quickly and it seems obvious that the tires are not properly specified for this car, 2013 hyundai sonata.

Two rapid deflations of tires, just weeks apart, due to sidewall failure.first happened rounding a corner at about 20 mph, and the second while parked.

On 7/29/2013 we purchased a set of 4 kumho solus kr21 tires.the car is used primarily for highway travel ? once weekly work commute and for vacation road trips.we had not yet driven it off pavement with the new tires.on 4/16/2014 i started the car to go to work.i heard an odd noise from the rear passenger side, almost like a rhythmic popping sound, but it stopped, and since it wasn't identifiable i proceeded to leave my driveway.about a block away, i heard the noise again, but again it stopped.at this point the car was handling fine.as soon as i got on the freeway (approximately 2 miles from my house), i noticed i was having trouble accelerating to speed (65mph).i also began to hear a rhythmic bumping noise, so began to pull over to the shoulder.by the time i got over, i could feel the bumping and knew i had a flat.the rear passenger side wheel had suffered a complete sidewall separation (see photo).the tires only had 6,624 miles on them ? all paved road, no dirt.they were supposedly warrantied to 85,000 miles.in retrospect, i believe the sounds i heard in my driveway were the initial sidewall separation.the separation did not cause immediate loss of air pressure or structural integrity;that only happened once i got on the highway and started driving at 60mph.there was no explosive noise like a blowout.in subsequently researching kumho tires, i discovered that this brand has a long history with sudden sidewall separation and/or blowouts ? all at low mileages.this occurs across several tire models and years.the complaints were so consistent that i went back to the tire dealer and requested a different brand.they replaced them and i notified them of my research results.i am very concerned that kumho is allowed to continue selling tires with such a safety risk.i was very lucky that i did not lose control and that traffic at that moment was light.

I was driving 70mph on a 4 lane highway. I was changing lanes from the 2nd lane to the left most lane. The car infront on me decelerated at a quick pace, so i had to make my lane change a lot quicker. At this point, the driver-side front tire popped and i lost control of the car. It veered quickly left and bounced off the center divide. It then traveled all the way to the right most lane of the highway and came to a stop. I believe i did not touch the brakes or the accelerator during this entire endeavor. Other cars did not hit me. The car is currently being fixed through my insurance company.

Upon hitting a pothole the tire a kumho 215/55/r17 solus ta31 sidewall gave out on the passenger front side. The next day while driving i ran over a small object the tire's sidewall failed again this time on the driver's front side. I had two blowouts in 2 days from routine driving on this tire. The tire pressure was @37 each time. I was traveling roughly 45-50 miles per hour. In both instances the sidewall split.

Kumho tires installed as original equipment wear prematurely. Tires were worn to 4/32 at 12,000 miles. New tire were installed and the car has been transformed. While the original tire may meet whatever applicable standards exist they were inadequate for the 2013 sonata.

Kumho solus kl21 tires are a real safety issue.. Tread measures 8/32" and the tread is separating. Car shakes so bad at 30 mph you can not talk to the person sitting next to you.

The contact owns a 2013 kia sorento equipped with kumho solus kl21 tires, size 235/60/18. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000. The tire failure mileage was 30,000.

While putting air in my tires the valve stem snapped off.while looking closer at the tire i noticed that their were cracks in the side walls of both front tires.cracks that were up to 4 inches long and ran as deep as the re-enforcing layer.the tires are kumho solus size 215/55r17.my car is a hyundai sonata, 2009, with 21,995 miles on it.i bought it new.now the tire dealer can't get kumho to call them back.i take care of my car and tires and this should not be happening at 21 thousand miles.

These tires were purchaed on a new vehicle (factory tires) and have been rotated regularly, documentation available. The tread life/wear on the tire is premature. The vehicle has a 60,000 mile warrantly according to kumho's website. I was informed during my last tire rotation that this would be last before needing new tires. The vehicle has 37,900 miles when i was told this information on 4/2/18. The tire wear/life on these tires is evidently premature and i am requesting replacment tires or a pro-rated refund/credit.

I needed to take my car in to themechanic to repair a tire thathad a nail in it. While repairing the tire, i asked him to also check the tread of the tires. He preceded to tell me that the treads were still good, but what concerned him was the tread separation, cracking, and dry rot that the tires had. He said they definitely need replaced but not because of tread. He told me to look in to it because he felt they were defective.

The valve stems on a 2011 hyundai sonata with only 20,000 miles on it were so corroded and seized in place that in order to remove them we would have had to break the entire valve stem. Since the valve stem is attached to the tire pressure monitor we would have had to replace the whole tire pressure monitor.

The noise is absolutely drives me nuts! it is hard to concentrate on driving with the insane tire noise all around me. After reading several similar complaints, i havedecided to submit my own.
