We bought our quest used from a honda dealership in december 2008. We were told it was in very good condition. The electric doors do not always open or close when we want them to... They seem to have a mind of their own. The passenger airbags turn themselves on and off. After only driving it for a few months, the front end started popping when we would turn a corner. We checked the lower ball joints, being as this is a typical characteristic. There was no problem with them. We continued to drive it. About 3 months ago, the van started shaking real bad when we would brake, and the front tires started lifting tread. We took the van to a mechanic to check the alignment and source of shaking. He told us the alignment was fine... No adjustments were needed. He said the popping was the ball joints. We bought two new ball joints, and upon removing the control arm and ball joint assembly, we realized the problem was in the rear bushing of the front control arm, not the ball joint. The rubber is rotted out. You can not see this problem until you remove the whole arm. I was told i had to hit a curb really hard to break these, but have not hit any curbs hard ever in this van. I feel the dealer should have to fix this, since i have noticed this is an extrememly reoccuring problem with this year/make/model. Upon replacing the tires, the new ones treads are lifting. They were replaced 6 weeks ago.

I own a 2009 dodge journey that i bought brand new. In 2 years i have gone through multiple brake pads and the car has almost no mileage.

2009 dodge journey sxt 6 cyl. 3.5 l engine. 2wd. Front brakes started to squeal and gouge the rotor on the front left (driver side) after only 20k miles. Replaced pads and could not afford to turn rotor also. 58 complaints on autobeef.com and carcomplaints.com about the same problem, same vehicle, same year, same results from dodge and dealers. 'it's normal" and over 12k or 12 months not covered under warranty. All complaints about this to chrysler/dodge and nhtsa have happened between 7k miles and 24k miles... No recall or acknowledgment of this problem by dodge. They refuse to recall and state that they have not heard of this problem from anyone else. Read the complaints on autobeef and see how many people have called dodge about this. In most cases, the pads were replaced and new rotors were replaced at owner's expense. In alot of cases, the dealers told the owners that if they turned the rotors, they would be too thin and had to get new rotors. Keep in mind that these are cars under 25k miles. The caliper has not been addressed as part of the problem but the pads and rotors have to be replaced again after only another 10k miles. I think it may be the calipers. Dodge needs to recall based on this problem. As a result of the premature brake wear the front tires have wear on the outside treads. It is the brakes and tires!!! safety issue!!!!!

I got the car brand new on 2012. The car now has 17000 miles, the problem started with the tires when the car had 15000. At speed over 50m i feel shaking in the tires, and feel that the car is not stable and not griped to the way, also the car always slides on curves specially if the road is wet , even if very slightly wet and on low speed.all maintenance to the tires including rotation and allignment used to be done on time at the dealer. When i informed them about the problem they told me that i might need to change the tires, and added that the tires are not covered under the car warranty and that i have to contact the tires manufacture for any available coverage. I contacted the tires manufacture which informed me that these tires has no milages warranty, and added that these tires are specially made for dodge under their requested standards which is less quality than those available in the market.this is a serious safety issue that might result in severe accidents for the dodge journey crew drivers.

I purchased a brand new 2009 dodge journey with 20 miles on it, within the first 25,000 miles 2 of the tires began losing air and had to be replace, kumho tires stated there was nothing they could do about this. At 45,000 miles the driver side tire actually popped, luckily at the time we were stopped in a gas station parking lot. Again, kumho said there was nothing that could be done. At 47000 miles the brakes fell completely out of the vehicle and on to the road, again luckily we were doing approx. 3 miles an hour and no one was hurt, when i called the dodge dealer i bought the vehicle from the service tech said 'well it sounds like you need new brakes to me' so i called dodge, again they said i was out of my 3 yr/36000 mile warranty and they were 'sorry for the inconvenience but there was nothing they could do' i took it to a local repair shop that said the right front caliper locked and didn't release causing total destruction of not only my brakes, but my rotors. Is 'sorry for the inconvenience' what they would have said had my children been killed in their sad, very unsafe vehicle?

Kumho solus kh16 tires came on my new 2015 dodge caravan. Only 21000 miles later, 3 of the 4 tires had pieces of tread chucking off. Two of the tires appear to have splitting in the rim area as if the casing is separating. I was 220 miles from home on christmas vacation when i had all four tires replaced. My extended family has 2 caravans with the same kumho tires and all show the same issues. The tire dealer noted the tires were manufactured in 2014 (p225/65 r17 h100, cab502c, 0261971, 011341sw). After reading other tire reviews it appears there are many safety and wear issues with this tire brand. I could not locate an authorized kumho dealer in the amelia island area the day after christmas but did not care as i would never have this brand on any car i owned after this experience. Really, how can this tire be sold at all?
